Speaker 1 (00:00):
Life and the Export Beer Garden Studio. This is the
ACC Sports Book powered by the TAB.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
The ACC Sports Book thanks to the TB.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
I just said that, welcome in Carl for another Friday.
Has your week been, Matte.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
That's been good. I've actually been in sunny Brisbane for
most of the week when I but back in semi
sunny Wellington.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Now what are you doing over in Rizzy.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
In Taine hit office is actually in Brisbane, so doing work?
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah, wow, that's a good weework trip. Lane unable to
be with us today because of pseudo effidroom abuse this
week is massively blown out after overdosing on pseudo if
during this week. But I suppose we've been to start
at the top as we usually do, with a bit
of accountability from last week. The three way that we
(00:49):
put on came very close and for the first time,
I think, Carl, you were the only one who let
us down.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah. I don't know if it's my first time, but
I will issue a public apology for in flight. Certainly
was not in flight I think ended up running fourth
in that race. But having said that, Lane technically didn't
pick his leg and we did that together. Yes, and
I talked you off the edge to take the safe bet,
(01:18):
so I reckon. I'm semi semi okay here.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, well you've taken two bites at the cherry there.
It's because we gave him Caleb Clark and I was
trying to talk you into semi rod rodro who did
not score my leg was South Africa versus Portugal. I
took the line minus thirty six and a half, which
was a sure thing.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
But wow, did you see the game? No?
Speaker 1 (01:39):
I sure didn't. Oh no, I saw the score. It
was it was close.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
I was watching it at the airport as I was
heading off to Brisbane. And I'll tell you what, I've
never been rooting for Portugal in a rugby match so hard.
After my leg lost, I wanted someone else to lose.
So they scored late, and then South Africa scored even later.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
It was something along the lines of sixty to sixty
one to twenty something. Ah.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
It was very very close finish.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, well, very close to the line, not to the
line to the line. Yeah, sorry, it was not a
close finish in terms of who was going to win.
Sixty four to twenty one is what it was. And
then and you're right, they did score right on the hooder.
But anyway, long short of it is intro mile as
they say, Carl, And how did we go across the
(02:25):
gravy pen segment from last week?
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Look, I mentioned it when we're doing it. It might
have got a little bit carried away. And it wasn't
our greatest week. So quickly go through the runners. Rustenberg,
the Harness run away we turned, in fact was not
very hard to beat. The New Zealand races got washed
(02:53):
out last week and the actually got race yesterday, So the
one of them for that, what was that? Sorry to
the bits?
Speaker 1 (03:00):
And so if you got on a race that got
washed out and it was run yesterday, does your bit
still count?
Speaker 2 (03:05):
It would have been refunded, I'm pretty sure, and you
would have had to go again. But for the sake
of this podcast, one of the tips actually won, so
I'm going to claim that, yep, that was Martel impressive.
Bell didn't run. And then back to Saturday, pure Alpha,
in fact not an Alpha, came seventh, as we said
(03:27):
in Flight came fourth and zapp Hood came fifth. So
not a great week for us, all right.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
I think I think our sales were full because we
the week before we had that big four top four
multi with all of our horses, so I think we
might have gotten a little bit excited. But that's punn,
That's how it goes.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Sometimes. Sometimes you need a week like that just sort
of bring you back down to earth.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
That's right. Yeah, we flew a bit too close to
the sun. I think let's have a work around. What's
happening this weekend? Actually, to be honest, in terms of
the markets, we usually look at a little a little
less on than usual. Obviously, the All Blacks aren't playing
this weekend, presumed these other international rugby union but I
(04:09):
don't particularly care about it. The Warriors are playing, and
they're playing tonight, and I think that's where most of
most people's focus will be so far this weekend. What
are How are the punters feeling about this game? Carl?
After last weekend?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Well, I guess like me, this this game sets up
the weekend for the punters. Could be a good thing,
could be a bad thing. Eighty percent of the money
with the Wars and the head ten market a dollar
twenty six. We took a ten thousand dollar bet on
the Warriors at a dollar twenty six. Wow, A five
six hundred dollar bet on the Warriors at a dollar
(04:47):
twenty four, and a six thousand dollar bet on the
Warriors to win both halves at a dollar ninety eight.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Wow. Hey, those are some heavy investments. Like I generally
it's just so much to a bit on or against
the Warriors because you're already so emotionally invested, and so
dollar twenty six is just way too low for me,
because if you were to lose, you know, the state,
what you were, what you stood to gain was so
(05:15):
much less than what you stood to lose. I don't know,
it's just I couldn't do it that way.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
No, I feel you, And it's dollar twenty six is short,
Like I know where. I know the Tigers are bad,
but we know our best, our best sort of we
can bang with the best of them. Yeah, but we
haven't put our best on the field for the whole,
for a whole game yet this season. So look, I
think the Warriors will win. I think they'll they should
(05:41):
win well. Yeah, but a dollar twenty six is light.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, I thought so too. I would say we focus
a bit too much on the Warriors. If you were
to look at what's going on with the Tigers at
the moment, they are in absolute shambles. One of the
marquee signings over the off season, Johnny Bettman, has bugged
off back to the UK about six weeks earlier from
the end of the season. Apparently had a massive blow
up with Benji Yes after the last loss and then
(06:07):
you said, oh bugger it, I'm out of here and
he's back over to the UK. So like, if you
look at their team, they are dismal. There is a
reason that three dollars ninety but it as hard as
a Warriors fan when you've just watched you know, the
last few weeks come together to try and find any
kind of value. Are people? I know at the start
of the season, everyone was getting on rts to score
(06:28):
a try almost every game. Now he's back at fullback.
Do you think that's going to bait a few people
into getting on rts anytime t I scorer.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I'd say a few people would have gone on him
last week when he was on the wing and he
obviously cashed. But when he went back to the fullback position.
It's the same names with Warriors fans when it comes
to try scorers, and it's all the double barrel names. Yeah,
your rts, is your DWZ, JFBS, your c hts, tmms, MGT.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Oh sorry mg Tam Moiler Graham Sofa.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah, that's gonna be some sort of record, right for
the most double barrels in a team.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
It is and I looked I think I looked into it,
and I think it is the record. And it took
the record off the twenty eighteen Warriors previously. And I've
always seen great rugby league players come from broken homes.
That's why there's so many double barrels in there. The
best looks.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yeah, okay, I've I went down and had looking a
few of the power players, you know, took me try
scorers and some that have these haven't been backed up
by the bookies in terms of what's being backed, but
these just jumped out at me. I guess disclaim it
to all the listeners. I am a Soco Waz fan
and we'll punt on anything Warriors related. But Dellan w
(07:51):
ten Zelesniak to score a try in the first ten
minutes is paying ten dollars. Two plus tries in the
first half is paying six dollars for DWZ. And then
a little specky or a little bit more speky dw
Z first try and RTS anytime seventeen dollars. Oh yeah,
(08:12):
this is like this is like you say, this is
more thinking about how bad the Tigers are, Yeah, and
our opportunities there.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
And also how to play this game for your own entertainment,
because on the Mad Monday podcast yesterday, I think our
punt for that was Duo's three plus tries and it
was DWZ and RTS to score three tries between the
two of them. I think that's only like four dollars
fifty or something. But yeah, I think that is the
way to do it. But a bit of try score
(08:38):
a roulette, try score a bingo almost.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
I'll tell you what those those options when you pick
a try scorer to score in the first ten or
twenty minutes, if you want a rush of a thrill
ride in ten minutes, it's it's certainly.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
That, yeah, one hundred percent. So I think that's how
most people are going to play the word Is there
any value across the rest of the NRL? Are punters
getting on board at the other games this weekend?
Speaker 2 (09:04):
There's plenty of short priced favorites this week in the NRL.
Having said, that there's plenty of big bets coming in
for those short priced favorites. Eight and a half thousand
dollars on the Storm to win the first half at
a dollar twenty yep, and then a five thousand dollars
bit on the Storm at a dollar and now a
dollar twelve against paramatter.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
How're going to hunt them dollars?
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Five thousand dollars bit on the Broncos at a dollar
forty six, two and a half thousand on the Chucks
minus six and a half. They're playing manly. And then
this one's a real sort of sounds like real black
ash for the areas here. Three thousand dollars on the Storm, Panthers,
Warriors and Broncos all head to head at two dollars
(09:52):
sixty four.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
How many is that? Four leagues four leggs out, four leagus, Yeah,
I can't see enum And there the Warriors.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
A bit person three thousand and nine. If this person
this is by one leg, we get a fifth dollars
and bonus cash.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Back silver linings, civil lining. That's that's that's powerful stuff.
We've been talking about it on all of our podcasts
and commentaries across the week. The International Olympic Committee have
basically shut down almost everything in terms from a media perspective.
We can't like congratulate people when they win medals. We
can't talk about anything. I presume Carl that we can't
(10:31):
talk about the Olympic markets either on this and if
we can't, just just shake your head.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Look, all I'll say is being is available.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
There are markets available if you would like to.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Yeah, I promised the legal team then I wouldn't say
too much more.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yeah. And if you do on whatever market it is,
you know, whether it is a giant international sport event
being based out of Paris or or anything else across
the weekend, you know you could be in for a
big one. Have we seen any big ones across the
week What are the I love hearing these massive like
sixteen league ping pong bets and things like that.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Thing that has been supplied to me. The only kind
of piece of information I was given this morning is
that in the rugby Fiji are now a dollar eighty favorites.
They were six dollars.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Oh why.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Question that point? When when tournaments started with six dollars
but now they are dollar eighty are given the result?
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Oh? Sorry, I thought you were talking about international. Yeah, no, no, no,
you're talking about that which must not be named. Yeah,
that's yes, that is very interesting and very gutting that
our boys are out before the tournament even started, before
the Olympics started. Surely they just hit the bar from
there on out. All right, then, have you got anything
(12:00):
else before we take a quick break?
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Look, I know if one might get mentioned later on
the pod, So we had a quick look and Maxim
Stafan is not your favorite this week for the Belgian
Grand Prix.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
That's because he's starting from tenth, isn't there?
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yes, Orlando Norris two dollars Maxims staffens, but he is
the best backed with fort of the money and that
race win a market sitting with Verse Stappen, is that right?
Speaker 1 (12:30):
That's ridiculous. Nobody gets overtaken in Formula one, whoever starts
in pole position wins as far as I'm concerned. So basically, yeah,
all right, Dan, Well, without only further ado, we're going
to take a quick break. When we come back, we're
going to get your tips from around the tab officers
will be right back.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Pause the podcast now and grab a pen for the
hottest tips from around the tab office.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
What have you heard around the office so far this week? Matte?
Speaker 2 (13:04):
All right, our harness tipster is back despite a shock
of last week. Addington Race five tonight, number eight Obsession
four dollars fifty a dollar ninety. He said, this has
got a wide draw, but it's a drop in grade
each way. Hope, but can win. Okay, this could be
number eight obsession.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
This could be a little top four play perhaps.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yeah, that sounds good. Tomorrow at tet Upper Race two,
I think tet up Actually this is a bonus back situation.
So if you back something to come first and it
finish a second, third or fourth, you'll get some bonus
(13:48):
cash back up to fifty dollars. So tet up a
race two number three, Master Brutus at three dollars fifty.
I think we've been tipped this one previously and he
has run in the top four.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Yep, Master sings belt, little little blurb I've got here.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
He's a class for here is the class horse in
the field.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
He is a class or is the class horse field.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
He is the class horse in the field.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Okay, great, he's just one off.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Yeah. Sticking with ted Upper Race number seven number one,
Twain at three dollars and falling was opened at three
eighty one from one, looking to make it two from two.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I'm going to need to know whether he's named after
Shaniah or Mark. It's going to make a big difference
as to whether I follow him in.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Are they not together shacked up at that mark? Yeah?
All right, doom bam. Race two, another one I think
we've had in the past. Number eight, Madame O'Dette at
two dollars forty.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Springs of belt. It's my mate's mum's name.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
By the back to back second place is unlucky, last
start can win. The big threat in this race. I'm
gonna be careful when I say this is Conna Mala
Conna Maula Feller at three dollars sixty one more time,
Connor Mala Feller.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Sure, sure, and that's the bat in this race.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
It's a big threat. He's paying three sixty. Had a
look at a week same race. Multi here. I reckon
if you go Madamo Debt top two and Connor Mala
Feller top three, you can get two dollars seventy.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
I don't mind that. Yep. That's sort of almost like
a little bonus tip.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yep. And last one. I know we love human names
for a horse. Yes, cool Field Race one number two,
dom Dom Gone and from two ninety already should get
to the front and lead the whole way. And if
we know anything about Doms and racing, they are very good.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Good runners, good runner's, controversial, but good runners. All right,
thank you very much for those tips. If you didn't
manage to scratch those all down, we'll chuck them up
on the old Instagram story. Might be worth screenshotting that
one to place your bets on. This week. Without any
further ado, it is now time for one of my
favorite parts of the week, stats to impress the ladies.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
All right, We're gonna start with the Wars and the Tigers.
And four of the tigers last five matches eleven plus
tries have been scored. Jesus, so if you like, try
time get on another one. Tigers have lost fifteen straight
outside of Sydney, yep.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Across to sorry, just quickly, they'd be about the same
in Sydney to be fair.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
It'd be close. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're gonna get the
stats that line up to help worries here. Yeah, across
to one of your favorite sports AFL, the Gold Coast
Sons versus the Brisbane Lines, but Queensland derby there Gold
Coast have covered the line in each of its last
twelve matches at People First Stadium following a loss, they
(17:18):
are five and a half point outsiders.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
People First following a lost.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
People First Stadium. What a name for a stadium.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Tremendous.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
And then I've got two here in the Major League
Baseball because i know you love these ones. Minnesota Twins
versus the Detroit Tigers tomorrow. The Twins have lost eight
of their last ten games as favorites against the Tigers
following a home win, following a home win, following a
(17:50):
home win. And so if you like that, get on
the Tigers. I think they're about two dollars ten or
something similar. But to back that up, to back that up,
the lead after three innings and five of their last
six games against American League Central opponents, so.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
That again we missed it at the start. The Tigers
have leed.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
They've led after three innings and five of their last
six games against AL Central opponents.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I don't know how you put in these stats together.
Some of the most left field I can't even like,
what if I'm trying to picture how you would organize
your spreadsheet to spit that stat out. I can't even
figure that part out.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
That's where you've gone wrong, assuming that I've got a
spreadsheet for these things.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
You're not just pulling them how he asked.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Someone needs to fact check them.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Yeah, they weren't.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
That that's done. That's the stats for this week. It's
pretty light this week.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
No, it's good. It's good. I'm major League Baseball spits
out the best ones.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
I think it truly does.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
All right, just before we knock this thing on the head,
we do have to put together our three way hunch.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Get in on the three way action with Mniam Lane
and the tab.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
All right, Lane is betting an absentia today, but he
has sent through his leg for this one, and he
would like to see Lewis Hamilton to podium. That is
paying two dollars fifty and that will I suppose we'll
see that on Monday morning. Yeah, that one that'll come through.
What are you going to go for?
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Get behind? I can get by that my leg. This week,
I am going to the NRL YEP, and I'm gonna
take the South Sydney Rabbit OZ plus three and a
half against the Raiders at a dollar ninety six.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
The Raiders are in some form after knocking off the
Mighty Warriors last week, though, they are, But I've got
some bonus stats here for yes, that particularly relate to
the points start.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Okay, So in their last forty matches, Raiders are twelve
and twenty eight against the spread. There's teams outside the
top eight in their last eighteen there five and thirteen
at home against the spread. Yeah, fourteen and thirty one
against the spread off a win. Yeah, and fourteen and
(20:20):
thirty three against the spread as a favorite.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
I've twissar ran into a Prinzel.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Long story short, they go no good are covering that
point start at home off a win as a favorite
or against teams outside the top eight?
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Okay on Friday on Saturday nights when the humidity is
over thirty four percent?
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Exactly?
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Yeah, Sorry, I forgot to add that you are the
Rabbit as your second favorite team, you get on them
quite often.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
They are not. But despite that period of not being
able to win a football game earlier this year, I
think they are a much better team than the market
gives them credit for. So yeah, there's I think there's
value there.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
I agree with you that they are actually quite a
fun team to bet on as well. Yeah, I like
chucking Alex Johnson in there anytime. It's almost it's almost
money for jam. Okay, almost nothing quite is, but that's
about as close you get. So you've gone South Sidney
Rebidos plus three and a half Lewis Hamilton to podium finish.
I think, and I said this yesterday on the Mad
(21:31):
Monday podcast, this game the Warriors versus the Tigers has
Edin Fanua Blake two tries written all over it. The
Tigers are an absolute disarray. Their best forward, Stefano KManu,
he's in a massive contract negotiation going on at the moment.
That's a huge distraction for him. And I think while
he's distracted, Adan Fanua Blake comes crashing through the front door.
(21:53):
I can see him celebrating already. I'm not quite brave
enough to go two tries, but one at two dollars
forty five, So I think we're gonna I'm gonna check
that one in there might be out of over my
skis with a two dollars forty five league. There, Lane's
gone two dollars fifty as well, so I think we're
getting a bit bold, but let's see how we go.
(22:14):
If you multi all of that up, that'll pay twelve
dollars at the tirb so estimated return eleven hundred dollars
for the three way hunch this week. This is going
to be a fun one to watch across the weekend.
We won't know right up until Monday morning, or.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
We might know tonight.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
We might not at ten o'clock tonight yet, that's right, hopefully,
hopefully we don't. All right, thank you very much for
your time, Carl, Any any trips coming up this week.
You're not back over to Brisbane at all?
Speaker 2 (22:42):
No, No, on the couch tonight, feed up watching the
Wars and it's about me.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Yep, you'll be watching that on Skysport. Nine men early
will be commentating that one find out if I go
home this afternoon or if I go straight to the
pub and stay there all afternoon and then go into
the commentary. Again. Thanks very much for your time, mate,
and we'll see you next Friday. All right, Cheers mat,
cheers man.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
We'll spent here at the acc Sports Book, but our
friends at the tab are good to go.
