the Kiwi setup.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
It's pretty enjoyable and it's been three years now since
I've been in been in camp. It's it's been good
to be back around the boys and around this arena
and environment. You know, you come back into the camps
with list and you actually forget how good it is
and yeah, I've just missed it and und around camp
(01:06):
real good.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I know you had a couple of big injuries in
that three year window, but you know, through that time
had you sort of planned to set a goal of
wanting to be back instead of National International Rugby League at.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Some stage, absolutely, I wanted to be in this environment.
You miss it at heat and you know you always
want to represent your country. And yeah, like I said before,
I've had a few injuries the last three years, three
years and god of mine was to toby injury free
and get back in this jersey and had finally come.
(01:41):
And I'm just happy to be back in the jersey
and yeah, very excited.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, and saying that, I imagine there's a lot of tired
bodies come this time of year. Obviously you've had a
few weeks off since NURL regular season finished. But how
are the energy levels from yourself and what you've noticed
around the team as you prepare for a couple of
big guns And.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
It's real good. You know, other boys enjoy everyone's company,
and yeah, the energy are pretty high. And I'm pretty
keen to play play this weekend. It's going to be
a good match and yeah, just looking forward to it.
It's very real fun.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Getting the NOD to start at Hoker. Is that something
you've been working towards and what sort of do you
feel lead you to getting the chance to be in
the starting team.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Oh yeah, just been consistent in my footy a club
land and you know, it's it's been a long time coming,
but you know it's something that I try shrive on
from my performance and being consistent in my footy and
it's got me to where I am today. So I'm
super grateful to be were today and in this jersey
and being able to start this week.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
And j Remy, we've seen you part of a number
of innur old clubs over the years. The Dolphins. How
are they enhancing your career and you enjoying your time
with them?
Speaker 3 (02:56):
It's been really enjoyable. You know, we've we've had a
lot of injuries and adversity at the club and boys
really showed up the share and yeah, we're very close
and at the club we're getting better. And he's been
looking forward to next year, you know, having all those
boys that have been injured and a few boys coming
(03:17):
from different clubs, so looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Karen Fororan obviously soon to wind down his legendary career
and alongside Dylan Brown in the halves, So how you
seat of preparing alongside them and how how lethal could
could some of the attack me, do you think.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Oh, yeah, well, you know, two great players and Fog
has been in the game a long time and you
know we've been working on our combinations of training. Yeah,
we just want to send Fos off in the right way,
you know, hopefully that cup at the end. But yeah,
(03:53):
we're really focused on this week and taking each week
as it comes. So yeah, we're looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
When you look at the lineup of yourselves and some
more on paper, you can't really look too far past
the big match up ahead between Charms and Roger toy
Vasis Ship, can you. But in terms of just the
wider battle and the way the two teams stack up,
what are you sort of looking forward to about the contest?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yeah, you know both teams. Yeah, it is all over
the parking wherever you look. You know, there's great matchups.
I know, you know some more they got great players.
There's a one to seventeen so and so do we.
So you know it's going to be a game. I
know everyone's looking forward to it, and yeah, I just
(04:38):
can't wait.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
We've seen the support that Sama can get an Auckland.
What kind of vibe you're expecting from the crowd.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Yeah, it's I think there'll be a lot of blue
jerseys as well, but I'm sure there'll be a lot
of black and white as well. Yeah, it's we played
that always turned up, so hopefully black and white jerseys
can turn up and get behind us, because yeah, it's
going to be a hell of the game.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
The Kangaroos aren't part of the competition this year. Has
that changed your overall strategy with with preparation and things
for the overall tournament?
Speaker 3 (05:18):
I think so we're pretty much just worried about, you know,
what we're we're doing as a team, even though Australia
and you know it's some more Atona great teams and yeah,
you know they've got great players, and you know you've
got pain ass this week and Roger there just all
(05:40):
over the all over the path. Look, so we're gonna
worry about ourselves and what we do as a game
plan and make sure we're best.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
