Yeah. Look, I mean she had that great result in
the first round when she beat the eighth seed Jane
Gin When and that was in three sets. She came
back from a set down. She lost the first set
here and just a little while ago picked up the
second set six to three against you. Votes of Ukraine

stayed fast enough, they're going to think you got it right.

eased away into the third round at wimbled but she
took what she took sixty six minutes to dispatch her
remaining opponent in straight seats.

want to make to do a repeat of last year
when she lost in the first round. And in one sense,
maybe that was a wake up call for her because
she went on to win the US Open, uh, not
long after that disastrous Wimbledon she had last year. So

I think everything is going in the tracking in the
right direction for golf.

Talking about US Open winners, Emma Retakana, she well, she
dispatched her opponent this morning with a nice easy win.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah. Also six one sixty two beating Elisee Mertens, who's
very experiences. She's been around for quite a while, she's
seated at major's, she's won major doubles titles as well,
so very experienced. And that was pretty emphatic from RADICANU.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
And I believe she's teaming up with Andy Murray in
the mixed doubles.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, well, Andy's, as we've discussed, is not playing singles. No,
He's going to play doubles with his brother Jamie. They're
going to be third match, by the way, tomorrow on
center quarters you would expect. And then today they announced
that he and Emmaradicanu will be playing mixed doubles. And
I tweeted a lot soon after that that he won
the silver medal in mixed doubles with Laura Robson at

the London Olympics. Can he win a mixed doubles Wimbledon
title with Emma Radicanu.

We'll see in the English just love that one. And
elsewhere in the women's draw on Jiba Caroline was Niecki
all through.

Yeah, pretty much pretty much straightforward for a lot of them.
And yeah, and Emma Navara and I'm not a household
name as yet. I think she can certainly progress quite
far through the nineteen seed A daughter of a billionaire,
no less, and she beat Omi Osaka six four sixty one.

It was such fun but al Karaz won seven six

and then for Daniel. I mean I love Daniel. I
mean I think he's the best. He's so funny, he's great,
and there was a funny moment with him. He was

getting so frustrated with things and his French opponent Alexandria Mulla,
that he got carried away with the first set tiebreak
when it sat down, thinking them set was over, and
in fact it wasn't. In the chair Umpire saying Daniel, Daniel,
it's six three. What are you talking about?

Oh? I love stories like that one. And there's an
enthralling match underway at the moment. Sinner and Veratini very close.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, seven six to Sinner. It is four to three
on serve to Berrettini, who was the Wimbledon finees a
couple of years ago and then just went through hell
with injuries. So hopefully he's on the way back. But
these two are also very very good friends.
