Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well at Field Days. It is day two. Now, this
is such a huge event. If you've never been and
you've heard us talking about field Days over the past
week or two or three, if you've never been before,
thought we'd go and get somebody from marketing here and
Communication to give us some tips. So we've got Debbie
joining us this morning from Communication Morning, Debbie morning. Okay
(00:21):
for first times, things that they need to know. Firstly,
getting to mystery Creek Okay, there.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
A number of ways you can get you if you're
coming from Auckland so or it's Hurranger and you are
doing a self drive, just remember to be patients on
the road and i'd suggest before you leave in the
morning just check the NZTA Journey Planner, which has up
to the minute information about any traffic delays anything like that,
(00:51):
so be prepared, maybe have an extra bottle of water
in the car. You know, you just don't know when
it comes to Field Days and it's all part of
the fun. Okay. So then once you so that's if
you're coming from further field in your own car, yes,
self drive. When you get here, there is plenty of
(01:13):
free parking available and the traffic management do a great
job each year and the volunteers directing everyone to where
they need to go, so you don't need to worry
about anything. Just follow the directions and you'll be good.
And then of course when you actually park your car,
you want to be able to find it at the
end of the day, which can be quite tricky. Yes,
(01:35):
so if you have the Field Days app, you can
pin your car location and you don't even have to
worry about it again until it comes to finding your
car at the end of the day.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
It's great, isn't it really handy?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
And because a lot of people lose their cars, but
hopefully not this year, because you know, we've had the
app for a few years now and it's just about
getting people to get used to using it.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
At the end of Field Days you have a whole
lot of cars left over. Thing well we've got three
or four cars, so.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Brilliant dollar auction. No. And if you live in Tiawa Mudu,
Hamilton or Cambridge, there's the park and ride which is
hugely popular. You just go and park your car for free,
hop on a free bus. You just need to show
the bus driver your ticket, your Fielders ticket and yeah,
(02:26):
you get dropped off at the front gate, so you
don't even have to worry about parking at fields, which
is brilliant.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
And you've got a jetboat service as well, which I
think is great.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
That is the best thing ever. It just makes your
day a full adventure. So cam Jet run a jetboat
service from Tammy Herry to Mister Creek and the jety
you hop off the jetty and you're at the front gates.
So too easy.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah, and if you've got a few spare extra dollars,
you could get in by chopper.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Oh yes, absolutely, we have about eighty choppers come in
and yeah we have a helipad. And yeah, if you
have a helicopter, you know, if you were one of
the lucky seven this week. Wow, So when the lotter
you can bring your your helicopter in.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, I love it, absolutely fantastic. And once you are inside,
now there's a lot of ground to cover here, isn't
there really walking around?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
You really, really really need comfortable shoes. That's probably my
top tip. You don't have to look nice at field days.
You just need comfortable shoes because there is a heck
of a lot of walking.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
For sure. You kill a met wise, there's quite a
few roads. I mean, how many of you ever total
that up?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
No, I haven't. But the property itself is one hundred
and fourteen hectares, which is a fairly large space. So yes,
there's a lot of walking, but there's so much to
see and do that you will never be bored for
a second. So while worth it. While we're the trip
(04:01):
layer up. You know, once you start walking you might
get a little bit hot, so you can take your
layers off. If it's raining, don't even worry. Just get
your wet weather gear on, get those gum boots on
if you don't have any. There's plenty of places here
to get some new gear.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
And there's plenty of food and drink and everything for everybody,
so everything's catered for.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
There's over fifty food trucks on site and hot coffee
around every corner. Yeah, it's brilliant. You will be while taken.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Care of, fantastic whatever. Thank you for joining you to
do a great job.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Thank you very much. Have a great day everyone,
