The Country Sport Breakfast has you covered on gold Sport,
your home of live commentary. Everywhere you go, everywhere, go
stay the weather right seventeen here on the Country Sport
Breakfast on gold Sport. Joining us out of the mid service,
John Law with this beautiful, big high just embracing the

(00:26):
country over the past week or so, John, Good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Good morning. Yet it has been a really persistent feature
of the weather, hasn't it. This high pressure sitting across
and is in which for most of us has meant
a relatively settled and dry week. There's been a bit
of sharry story here and Wellington this morning and around
that eastern coast of the North Side, but generally clear
and pretty cold, some really chea mornings around.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I believe that the HIC they call it Hictapescal's on it.
They're actually the highest to have ever had.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
It's definitely looking that way. So Preusracker was about ten
forty six hectabasco hour, so it's a really cential high pressure.
Anything above about ten point thirty we think about, has
been a fairly substantial feature, So ten forty is really unusual.
So I think this time we've got to run about
ten forty six, So just nudging up towards that record there.
It doesn't make an awful difference to us on the ground,

(01:14):
but it is a good fact, a good feature of
seeing how large and how slow movement's been as well
sit and over us.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Okay, So for the weekend, and I guess all importantly
Eden Parks Saturday night they can rugby tiste against England.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
How's it looking well? I think the kid news is
that the weather will stay pretty decent for that game.
On Saturday night. We are going to find at touchable
cloud down the eastern coast, but for Auckland Eden Park
it should stay dry, fine, a really nice looking day
up in Auckland. Top temperatures run about fifteen degrees celsius
and not two cold over night seven or so, so
a chill on the walk home, but I think it

(01:50):
should be a pretty decent night for the game.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Beanies and scarves.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I think for Saturday night, definitely, definitely, it is one
of those nights I think a cold couple of starts.
I think Saturday morning probably colder than Monday morning, for example,
but I think for the evening looks pretty decent, just
fine looking Saturday and.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Looking at at the way the map for the weekend
across the country, it's looking pretty settled.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yeah. The one thing we have to watch out for
is we're on that change now. So as we head
through the weekend, we'll start to find at a front
moving in from the west, so the high pressure sits
over us enough for Saturday and for most of Sunday
across the South Island will keep quite high. There are
going to be a bit more of an on shore
there will be more onshore winds for places like why
apple Hawks Bay gives so that keep things cloudy and

(02:32):
sharry there. And then the next area of where weather
moves in from the north and the west towards the
end of Sunday, and it's the style of next week,
so things change in it for the style of next week.
But for most of the weekend, I think for the
majority of the country there's still plenty of dry, fine weather.
But do watch out for a real child year.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I think ers on Saturday, like, hey, while the sunshine
so to speak here, I'm still looking at that low
just off the New South Wales, it's it's on us.
Why this, Why isn't it?

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, it is, and looking at the end of next week,
it's definitely a forecast to keep up to day with.
I think there will be a real change from that
settled whether we've had this week, so definitely want to
be keeping a fois on that forecast. That next speature
run across Pasman Sea through the week. Still time for
it to change exactly where it runs through and get
those subtle nuances of the forecast right. But I think
it's definitely a forecast to be up to date with

(03:16):
because I think things that are going to be changing
for next week.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
And John, with that English accent that I had to
take here is it coming home? Is the European Cup
coming home?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
I have to say I've not been paying as much
atention as I probably should with this accent, but no,
I think it is looking pretty good. I had a
quick look at the weather forecast over in Berlin as
well for Sunday. Perhaps a few showers, but I think, yeah,
it's a lot of very excited people on the streets
of England. It's going to be one that's going to
be keeping everyone entertained.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I think been a long time between drinks. John nice
to catch up lately. Enjoy your week in in good
luck to the good Luck to the English against the
All Blacks tomorrow and night at Eden Park.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Fantastic. Have a good weekend.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
