Speaker 1 (00:00):
Time to talk to the team at Fontira and today
we're joined by Tihan Chau for Greater China, the CEO
for Greater China, who's usually based in Shanghai, but he
joins us today from Auckland. Great to have you back
on the show, Deihan, and welcome to Auckland.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Thank you, Brian, glad to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
What's brought you to Auckland today.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, I'm in New Zealand as we're hosting some of
our large customers to a two day event showcasing the
value of grasps at dairy. They've come from all around
the world, so we have something like one hundred people
attending from seven countries including China, Japan, Thailand and others.
It's a really good opportunity for them doing age with farmers,

(00:46):
with industry leaders, businesses and government representatives to learn more
about New Zealand's sustainable dairy production and of course Fonterra's
sustainability credentials. Yesterday was day one of the event and
we had them attend in Auckland and attendees heard about
you know what makes New Zealand grass fed proposition so special.

(01:11):
They heard from dairy industry representatives, including the CEO of
darry Zad Campbell Parker, about why grass fed dairy is
the best. You know, specifically, products from pasture fed livestock,
including dairy and meat, contain a higher portion of beneficial
fats and carrol tennoids, so they're really really more nutritious.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
It's the first time Frontier's host of the conference like
this than I reckon. It's great for the co op
to connect with with your customers on stainability like this,
isn't it?

Speaker 2 (01:47):
That's absolutely right, Brian. There's a strong demand around the
world for natural grass fed dairy as a premium source
of nutrition. Our customers see the value of our sustainably
produced dairy and we all know New Zealand is renowned
for it. You know, it's clean air, and it's great
outdoors and it's one of the best places for growing

(02:09):
grass you know, almost all year round, right. But it
is really the environment in New Zealand and our grass
fed farming system that makes Fonterra and our products unique.
It's also important that our customers know that our sustainability
targets and our ambitions and what they are and how

(02:30):
we're doing on them. Because achieving our sustainability goals requires collaboration.
It's a collective effort from all of us, from our
farmers to our customers.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
So do the attendees get out on the farm to
see firsthand the value of pastoral farming.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yes, absolutely, and that's probably the highlight. So today they're
spending time on a New Zealand dairy farm to see
firsthand how our farmers care for their land and their animals.
Stomers are also going to go visit one of our
manufacturing sites, gaining a better understanding of Fonterra's grass fed story,
which obviously starts on the farm but also flows through

(03:09):
the entire supply chain to create value for our customers.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Fantastic. It's always great to have people from around the
world come and see the great dairy industry that we
have in New Zealand. Tian, thanks for sharing that with
us this morning. Go well

Speaker 2 (03:25):
All right, thank you, Brian
