The Coast Breakfast Bonus Podcast with Tony Jason Sam.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hi, thanks for listening to our Breakfast Bonus podcast. We
were invited to see some of the new things in
New Zealand. It's working on. There are some game changes.
We're went to the Innovation Center, which we didn't even
know existed, and it won't matter if you're sitting in
a business class or economy class. You were in for
retreat and to tell us more about this, we spoke
with Kylie who's the general manager for Customer Experience at
in New Zealand, and we started talking about the new
snack menu we are Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
In fact, I've already started rolling out. So if you're
like you're someone going to get chips, they are available.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Also, I wanted to say congratulations on the Fijo, a popcorn.
Not everyone's coverings, Eve, but I love it.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
I love that too. I also loved the sky Nest.
Can you just talk us through the features of that again,
because I think this will be so appealing to people
no matter what class they're sitting in.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yeah, the sky Nest is essentially a set of six
spunk bets. They can be purchased for a four hour
slot and you can get by that from the Economy
cabin or the Premium Economy cabin. So a great option
if you want to get a life flat bed Life
Flat sleeping. The price is yet to be determined, but
yet it'll come with some immunities to make that experience
(01:08):
really comfortable.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
So how do you wake up? After you have you
four hours right and let you fallen asleep, you're a
deep slumber. How do you wake it? Shaken away? Because
it going to be an alarm?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
How you shake it?
Speaker 3 (01:16):
How We're going to be pretty well, make sure it's
comfortable for you. So the lighting will slowly increase so
to naturally wake you up. There'll be a bit of
moving around as the crew come in just to get
the thing set up for the next slot. So yeah,
it should be a pretty natural process to wake up.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
And one of the things I was captured by was
the difference in screens that you've got in the different
class levels. They are much bigger.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah, each cabin has an increase in size and right
up to the twenty four inch that's available in the
Business Premiere cabin. And not only do we have an
increased size in the screen, but you can also use
your own device, so you can be using your own
device to be watching things like the flight map and
watching entertainment on the screen.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
And also one of the great things about the new
seats is normal seat waves. If someone in front of
you reclines, their seat doesn't affect you at all.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yeah, premium economy, that's been our big improvement there where
we have a hard shell and so if you recline,
you don't have to feel awkward about taking out the
person behind you, taking out their space. You can just
relax and recline and enjoy it.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Speaking of awkward, it's awkward when you keep buzzing the
buzzer to get snacks, right, and so you've come up
with sky pantry.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
We have sky pantry will offer all sorts of different
snacks and beverages, so customers can get up and help
themselves if they're peckish, and yeah, serve themselves. Don't have
to bother their the crew to get their items.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Is there a limit partial to the Fiji.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Popcorn just saying we haven't. We haven't enforced a limit
at this point. We think will be okay.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
