Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Coast Breakfast Bonus Podcast with Tony Jason Sam.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hi, thanks for listening to our Breakfast Bonus podcast. Today,
we're talking about a five question quiz, and these five
questions will tell you if you are drinking too much. Okay,
you've got a drinking problem.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
You have to say yes to all five or is
it like an apparently not so.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
This is from a woman called Catherine Gray who's been
sober for teen years. She's releasing her Alcohol Intake book.
Basically so she realized that her alcohol life was sliding
out of control. If you want to know how much
Catherine would drink so she reckoned, she would consume between
like forty units most week, about fifty to sixty units,
which I worked out to be about seven bottles of
wine a week.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Oh no, she's out of control. There's a bottle of day.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, it's a bottle of day for a bottle day.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
Yeah. It's all in the way you look at those
in it. You know, you can always replace the word
problem with opportunity. So I have a vera drinking opportunity.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
You know, I think that is the weirdest dubbest thing
you said.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Okay, cos, okay, here we go. So these are the
things that she figured out. These are the five ways
she knew looking back she had a problem. Okay, your
secret of about your drinking, you don't quietly do it
away from other people.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Zero.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Okay, you've tried controlling your drinking. You've tried. I need
I need to partup. I need to control it. One
drink and I'm done.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
It was a period of my life where I did that.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, I've done that. Yeah, yeah, I had reassisted.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
You swapped it out for exercise and no one is okay?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
One from two? Have you ever googled? Am I an alcoholic? No? No, neither.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
And even if I was, I don't think i'd google it.
I know I would not.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Get to number one? What secret?

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Am I an alcoholic? What does it tell you google
that you.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Must have these five signs? I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
It's the same questions Jason's asking us.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
It is these. But what you've seen is if.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
You google it, it means you are. So if you've
thought about googling it, you are.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Now you've got two from three. All right, you say
you drink moderately, but if you only drinking moderation, but
what if you do well here's the thing, she says,
and again she was really on the way out, and
she's taken control of your life. She says, it means
you're now often looking for examples of people who drink
more than you. It means you're looking for people who

(02:08):
are worse at it than you are.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Well. I often say that to my husband, you can
always drink so much more than me.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
I do say that to her.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
You can always find someone that drinks more than you.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Assess who you're comparing to is probably It's just.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Like you can always find someone fatter than you, always
find someone skinny.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Famous thing. There's always someone worse off that sort of thing,
better off yea than right, exactly more. And this is
I think we're gonna be careful with this one. I
have yes to this nomen.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I'm on two out of five here. I can't afford
another time, and.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Especially with your behavior in New York when you know
we were stopping at service stations and you were buying.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Jack Daniel's Troubled Punch. I reckon someone stop.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
The should be do you buy alcohol from service stations
tech in America?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Just to try it?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
All?

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Now, I can say yes to this and I think
you two might say yes to this as well. You
drink more than you intend to.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
I know that's me, not always. No, that's me done that,
not always.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Oh no, I'm like a Christmas cracker.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
You're all out.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Oh yeah, he should, I should?

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I drink here tag on the end of this a
wonderful time.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
So then the next three weeks, I'm not drinking anymore.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
That's why we tell ourselves that.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
You also say to us on the weekly here, I'm
not drinking, right, I don't drink these days, I don't drink.
I mean the last drink will have been the Friday before.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
I'm wholeheartedly not drinking. And the only exception was Alex
brought us sex to the soccer last night and I
had a couple of this.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
You literally had one last night. Don't you blame Alex.
It's not his fault. Although what's Alex up to taking
that to kid soilga.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
No, No, he started a tradition. We're doing it again
next week. It's my turn, Alex.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Alex, you need this book.
