Speaker 1 (00:00):
Coast Breakfast brought to you by Bargain Chemist their Policy
New Zealand's cheapest Chemist.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Tony Jason Sam's feel Good Breakfast catch up podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
They say there is no rest for the wicked, but
what of not resting is turning you into the wicked witch?
Speaker 3 (00:16):
We have all the deatsay when you rest, you're sitting
on that couch. We've got something you need to watch, Yes,
about cheerleaders, but that's not why I watched it. I'll
tell you what. That's what you need to watch. Have
a listen. You know, there's some places doing some great
things at the moment. Like one of our colleagues, Bree,
who will be here this afternoon too, right.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
Yeah, So she stunned us this week.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
She came in a little late to work and said, oh,
I didn't think I was going to be here for
another hour because she was getting her car serviced and
she was carrying something and she said to me, do
you want a biki? And it was this tub of
delicious looking chocolate oasy cookies and on the top it
said West Suzuki.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
And I said, did they give you these when you're
at your service?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yep, A giant tub of biscuits. Not only that is
a little added bonus. They vacuumed your car and washed
it completely and the service was done in lickety split time,
and I just went, gosh, that's great. Isn't that great
when a company goes the extra mile and gives you
something that is unexpected.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
It's the over and above. Please around the country. Who
are they? Who do you deal with? If you love
to hear the story, Oh eight hundred double O four
coast well flicker text the two six nine line, let
us know if we can celebrate the.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Companies that go the extra mile for you. And it's
just such a pleasant surprise. A colleague of ours, Brie,
gets your car serviced at West Suzuki and we're giving
them a shout out today because they gave her a
box of cookies. They cleaned your car completely up. It
reminded me of the hair solo on that I take
my girls to. It's just in central Takapootera. It's called
Forever Blonde. And they don't get the hair dyet, by
(01:44):
the way, that's just getting it cut. But when they
go there, they get the most delicious hot chocolate and
unlimited tim Tams, and we keep going back because of that.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Do you spear barber down at the Violet with it?
Did the same thing for guys. It's like a men's
barber plays. You go in there, you're like a whiskey
at the end of it if you wanted one.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
How cool is that?
Speaker 5 (02:00):
I know?
Speaker 1 (02:00):
It just made me think also and write this down
because I highly recommend this website hair Products Online dot
co dot in z. So when my hair, remember when
I had that hole, my hair snapped off instead before
I sorted it out with a new hair dresser, I
was desperate to get some hydration into that straw hair
of mine, and I went online and I found hair
Products Online dot co dot in z. I ordered some
(02:23):
moisturizing shampoo. And every time I buy something, they send
like a whole nother bottle of something else free every
single time.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
So it really encourages me to want to go back.
Go on there. I swear you love it.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
I love that. On the text on two six nine
nine sping of cars getting service and things chem seen,
the text said that she deals with Carlo at Automotics
in Glenfield. So they cleaned my car, they blacked my tires.
What if I just go for a quick service. That's nice.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
That is nice.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
I remember going for a meeting one time and I
won't nawn the business, but they were lovely and they
met with me. They wanted me to voice my voice
their ads for them in the MC the conference they
were doing. And while I was in the meeting, they
took my car keys in the I thought they were
going to pike my car for me. I came back
and they had valaid my car during the meeting.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Was that embarrassing because she'd left all those chippy packets
in there?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
It was the kids, I promise it was one of
those kids seeds.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
As you know, Sam has been away for the last
week and Delianor and he's been having well. He's been
having a mixed time, has an e overall very very good.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
He's had a few issues.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
One he took the double pram when we told him
not to, and he spent his life carrying it around
because there are steps and lefts everywhere.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
The narrow steps around through Italy.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Also he missed a flight and to train he went
to the wrong train station, so he ended up having
to pay three thousand euros to correct that mistake. But
all and all he's having a while of a time because.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Now he's at his villa in Tuscan. And here's a
little report from what has happened the last day.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
We've had a perfect day. The weather has been absolutely
spot on. He spent the second half of the day and.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Then out of the pool.
Speaker 7 (03:55):
That's been lovely. The first part of the day, we
went to San Juviniano, which is like a castle fortress
city on the top of a hill in Tuscany and
probably well actually the drone there, and when I landed
the drone, I said to my family, that is the
most beautiful thing I have ever flown my drone over.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
And I've been to a few places.
Speaker 7 (04:17):
And we had in the middle of this ancient city
is the restaurant that has won the best ice cream
in the world for like the last four years. And
we had some. And is that that don't I can't.
I'm gonna be careful how I talk about this, because
I don't know where my wife is right now. But
she came back and of all the flavors, there were
some beautiful flavors there. There were some beautiful flavors.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
I saw the solder caramel.
Speaker 7 (04:40):
My mom got it and I tasted it and it
was the best ice cream I have ever tasted in
my entire life. But my wife got me cherry. Now
I don't know where this decision came from, but I
had a cherry ice cream from the best ice cream
the entire world, and yeah, it was interesting. Today has
(05:02):
been perfect. I love you, I miss you. I wish
you were here.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
I think you might add a few drinks after that
cheery ice cream.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Debarcle thinks, So, yeah, so I was going well over there?
Which is nice?
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Would you ever choo's the cheery ice cream?
Speaker 1 (05:16):
I love cerr Sam's wife choice.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
If there's a box of favorite chocolates, I'm disgusted of this.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Cheer So one's reaching for the cheery ride.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
It's out of my box of choglets.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Time now for Matthew McConaughey, because at this time of
the week, we love to reflect via our journals.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
All right, all right, all right, yes, indeed you are
the author of your story of your journal. In this journal,
you will get to know yourself better.
Speaker 7 (05:47):
And who better to.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Get to know?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Right here we go, hi, journal. I always really look
forward to the school holidays. Yes, the days seem way
longer than a normal day, but I love getting to
be there in the mornings, spending time with the kids
and off of My wife will take some time off too,
so we can all hang out together, see things, do things,
make some memories. Now usually that'll involve seeing my mum
and dad too as an extra special Nana and Popper time.
These holidays will be a little bit extra special because
(06:10):
both our boys will get to experience a first ever moment.
So our youngest, Ollie, loves basketball and it's luck to
have it. His favorite team of all time, the Harlem Globetrotters,
are coming to New Zealand, so we're taking him to
watch them. He's never seen them live before. That'll be
a moment he'll never forget. And our eldest loves rugby
and he's going to recreate something I got to do.
The first time I ever saw the All Blacks play
(06:31):
in real life was when they played England at Eden
Park years ago, and that's exactly what Max will get
to do. We managed to buy some tickets before they
sold out, and to make it even more special, Mum
and Dad are flying up so that Popper can come too,
So we're gonna have three generations will be there to
watch the All Blacks together in my son's first game,
something I'll never forget. So to the grandparents, the parents,
the caregivers of all kinds, thank you for what you
(06:53):
do to help make the school holidays bearable and maybe
even memorable.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Ah, that's so cool. I'm so excited for your All
Black debut.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Some of my best childhood memories were getting woken up
at three am in the middle of the night with
the Milo and the Biokies and watching the All Blacks
with not only my parents but my grandparents.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yes see so Max has watched them on TV, mean
never live, so this is his first live match. I
can't wait.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
It really as part of our fairbreck and I love it.
Dear journal, I've been reminded this week of the incredible
power of music. On Tuesday, I had a van full
of eleven year old netballers belting out Disco Inferno.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
To fire up for the top of the Table clash.
I tell you what.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
It lifted their spirits after a long day of school,
and we came from behind and won there And I
put that down to Disco Inferno. Then there was the
recent release of the Celene Dion docco which had me
revisiting every passionate banger of hers. Then yesterday we spoke
to Iva Davies from Ice House and it reminded me
I hadn't heard Touched the Fire in probably ten years.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
How good is that song?
Speaker 1 (07:53):
And tonight we'll be celebrating the very best of Coasts
Feel Good five hundred tunes, and what a treat it
has been. Music makes us feel, it makes us remember,
It can make us sad, excited, and it can bring
us pure joy. And I, for one, feel so privileged
to be surrounded by feel good tunes that soothe the
soul each and every day.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Coasts Feel Good Breakfast to Catch Up podcast with Costs,
Tony Street, Jase Reeves, and Sam Wallas.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Jase hit me up some theme music for this one.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
Dare.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
So that music right there is the theme song for
the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders DCC as they refer to it
throughout the show. And if you haven't seen this show,
I highly recommend you go and see it. It's on
Netflix and many how many EPs is it?
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Ja?
Speaker 3 (08:50):
That's six or seven EPs?
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Essentially, it's a look behind the scenes of the iconic
Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders and how they were formed and how
they have become the juggernaut that.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
They are today.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
So if you don't know much about it, they do
a full entertainment show thirty six women who have to
go through grueling auditions of thousands of people to make
it into the team.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
And even if you are a cheerleader the next year,
it's not guaranteed. You have to try it every single year.
You might have been it for four years, it doesn't matter.
It's not guaranteed. You've got to try it again.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
And if you are from the old school where you
think cheerleading is just waving your pomp poms, you are severely,
severely wrong because these people are hardcore dancers, gymnasts. They
do things that there is no way I could ever attempt,
even after training for years.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Have a listen, beautiful, classy, feminine.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Everything would be perfect if I were that woman. It's
a lot of pressure.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Every single name.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Our job is to make.
Speaker 8 (09:50):
It look easier.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Since I was little, Dal's car was cheerleaders. You start
to want to.
Speaker 8 (10:00):
Training campus for some drive, some buckle under pressure, some
kind of disappointment.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Your left geck won't make this team. We're making cuts tonight.
You are not in the top thirty six right now.
Speaker 9 (10:15):
We're angry and we're emotional, but driver's tears gro of
you thirty.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Six are officially the do gaming je.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
It's brutal, and what it is doing is it's getting
a lot of feminists are coming out and saying this
is outrageous. You know, they're not getting paid enough, and
I was shocked at how much they got paid.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
To be fair, I kind.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Of liking it to playing your favorite sport, though a
lot of favorite a lot of people that play their
favorite sport don't get paid well either. They do it
for the love of it. And there are some old
school people that run the club that used to be
cheerleaders themselves.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
They've got very high standards.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
There is a sexual assault at one point in the series.
But do you know what, and this is going to
be an UNPC opinion from me having watched the whole
series now, and I think cheerleaders get a very bad
rap because they say it's exploitation and it's just some
hot women danceing around little shorts. You cannot deny that
those women that make that team are having the absolute
(11:14):
time of their lives.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
They love it.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
They choose to be there, they know what they're getting paid,
they get the perks that go with it, and they
are joyous. They have these amazing friendships. The people that
have been cheerleaders in the past come back because they
want to celebrate the reunions, because they love the organization.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Get a bit of a sisterhood going on to real connecting.
Speaker 8 (11:34):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
I just don't think you can argue with that.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Whatever your opinions are of cheerleaders, they're doing what they love.
And I have to say it was great to see
the joy and it was hard, and they train like
demons and I take my head off to them.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
And there's real drama involved as well as well. But
also what a cameo appearance from a superstar.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Oh yeah, you're gonna love it.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Let's not give it away, but let's just say very
popular artists here.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
On coast anyway. It's called Dallas Cheerlead Sorry, Dallas Cowboys
Cheerleaders Making the Team. It's the docu series. It's on
Netflix right now. And even as a guy, I didn't
mind it. I'm just gonna want it up there.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
All I'm going to say is Randy the Boot Guy
is a fair lucky man.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Randy needs the guy. There's no place in Randy the
Boot Guy in my humble opinion. Anyway, it's on Netflix.
Not just the end of an era on TV three today,
but also last time you'll ever see Mike McRoberts on
TV now. Three news goes way back to the late
nineteen eighties, nineteen eighty nine, the very first TV three
news bullet and listen to this, a man in court
(12:34):
charged with Monica Campwell's murder. Our national symbol, the Kiwi
now facing a news threat. That was the iconic newsreader
Philip Sherry.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yes, and I remember so clearly when TV three came
onto the scene and it was so exciting. I was
at primary school and it was like, yes, we've got
someone to challenge the other stations.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
It's just going to be in competition and it's great.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
And only some of your friends could get it because
some of the other TV's couldn't get.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
It, get TV three, and then eventually we all got it.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
But today is a very sad day with the end
of news hard and TV three. And I think if
you've been worked in the media like we have, well
First of all, it's just a sad day for media
in general to think that an entire arm of media
is going to be completely cut off. And yes, it's
coming back in iteration with this new malgamation with Warner
Brothers and stuff. But I think back of all the
(13:24):
people that I worked with as the competitor to TV
three for nearly ten years when I was at One News,
and what you might not realize is a lot of
the journalists have flipped back and forth between TV and
Z and TV three. Mike McRoberts was TV and ZED
for three years before he went to TV three.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
You look at Hillary Barry where she is now, where
she was.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Melissa chan Green who is hosting the AM Show when
I started at TV and ZED, she'd been there three
or four years before me.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Our sister from another mister, Berneline Oliver Kirby, who know
a great friend of coast. Obviously, she was TV and
Z for years.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
She was TV in Z hard. She was like a
mental to me when I first arrived.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Yes, same, and then of course you would have to
TV's Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
So we're very much like a family because of that.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Frenemies, I like to say, because you're competing for the
top stories. But you also you spend so much time
with these people. And I talked about it yesterday Michelle Pickles,
who was a TV three sports reporter for years and years.
You know, you startle up to these people, particularly in sport,
because you're traveling to things like the Olympics together, you're
covering live events. Andrew Gordy, who's the sports host on
TV and Zed, we had children at the same time,
(14:27):
and our children were friends. So I really really feel
for them today because so many of them are such
great people and I just hope that they I have
no doubt with the work ethic that they will have
that they will be snapped up in other places. It
might just not be in media, so to say.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
And tonight it's the last time we'll see Mike mc
roberts on TV. Does that blow your mind?
Speaker 4 (14:47):
It does. It's really weird.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
And you know what, Jason, it might not be you know,
who knows well, he might end up popping up at
Sky or TV and ZED.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
You just even know.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Speaking of which, Eric Young Finish is up today on
Prime News. For me, he's always been a mental to me.
I've loved Eric Young and his work and he took
me under his wing for a while.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
He was part of the Olympics team. I went with brilliant,
brilliant man.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
So we're going to get it with Mike McRoberts next play.
We're going to talk to h about what is new
because I had an idea. Tonight's the last.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Night, yeah, last day for news Hub, in fact, the
AM show it has its last bulletin going to air
right now and tonight news Hub Live at six last
night with Samantha Hayes and Mike McRoberts. Mike McRoberts is
such an icon in New Zealand. He has been reading
the news for a very very long time, instantly recognizable.
When I think of Mike McRoberts, I think of him
(15:39):
in his flat jacket over and war zones.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
War zones, Yeah exactly, but he's so much more than that.
He's on the phone now, Mike mc roberts, thank you
for joining us, honestly, cor mate, how are you feeling today, Jay?
Speaker 6 (15:51):
So it's it's obviously mixed emotions, but yeah, it's it's
it's been a rough old couple of months.
Speaker 9 (15:58):
It's been very, very weird. This week's been all.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
About celebrating what we've done and you know, and then
celebrating that with my beautiful colleagues, and so yeah, she's
going to be a big day, all right, sure.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
As Mike, can you just remind us what you're moving
on to next.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
So I'm actually going to a role with the NBA,
the National Business Reviews, so it's very much big boy pants,
and I've created a role for me as their Marti editor,
So I'll be doing stories on the Mary economy. And
when everything kind of went went a bit.
Speaker 9 (16:32):
You know, skew with at the start of the year, I.
Speaker 6 (16:35):
Really I really wanted to give them to something that
had to cup up with Marty attached to it, and
you know, that's the direction I've been moving into the
last few years. So I'm thrilled and I'm still incredibly
lucky to have that opportunity.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
We're really thrilled for you. But I'll be honest, Mike.
When I first heard that, you thought, no, I'm not
going to do this anymore. The last day of news
have will be my last day doing this job and
with his career. I was heartbroken, and I thought, what's
he going to do next? But then I thought it
was I'll hold on. This could be our next James,
because do you remember this moment here? Well, that's Today's
News on three and Hillary Barry.
Speaker 6 (17:05):
I'm mc roberts, Mike McRoberts.
Speaker 9 (17:10):
You could do that? Yeah, well I probably could. I
don't know that I'll make a lot of money out
of him, to be honest.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
But it's very smooth, very smooth.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
I actually thought that I'd probably end up carrying out
of that in the box. So when it did happen
and they say it changes the other, yeah, there's an
opt to go and do something different than Yeah, I'm
thrilled by it, Mike.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
I was just talking this morning about how and I
come from a unique place when I when I think
of you, because you were a competitor to me over
at One News for.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Many many years.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
It's quite a unique relationship you build up with the competitor,
isn't it.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
We had a bit of a thing for old or
former employees this week, and I had a great old
chat with Hillary Barry which was fantastic, And yeah, of
course it is. It's such a small organization, isn't it, Tony.
You're always bumping into each other and I think there's
a lot of mutual respect for everything you go through
in this business, and there's lots of things I'm going
(18:11):
to miss. There's probably a few things I'm not but
they're good times, you know. And it feels strange to
be moving away now and it's still not being there.
Speaker 9 (18:21):
I think you guys have both gone.
Speaker 6 (18:23):
From jobs over the years and where if you've moved from,
has always remained.
Speaker 9 (18:28):
But that's not the case with news hut.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
Then Yeah, that's the sadness, that's, you know, sort of
tinging what's happening at the moment.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Are you going to enjoy finishing work before seven pm?
Because you know, the reality is when you're on the news,
you're locked in, right, you can't get to.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
Anything that's earlier ver much.
Speaker 6 (18:45):
So Yeah, I've already been thrown on cooking dinner duties
for the next year.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
But well, Mike mc roberts, you have earned accolades. You've
earned so much respects and so many admirers for what
you do and the way you do it. Thank you,
very very much, very best of luck for your last
day today in Kaki down all this is coast.
Speaker 9 (19:04):
Thank you so much for your lovely wish it.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
If you are so overwinter right now, you might like this.
I saw this deal for samo I listen to this.
Flights transfers, seven nights at the Salatoga Sands Resort, breakfast
every day, two free massage sessions while you're there this week,
all for just over twelve hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 3 (19:21):
No, that's all of that. So you could beat us
in the chases in this couple of minutes from now,
when nine hundred dollars towards that we'll spend that money
on what eve you want to but nine hundred bucks
on the line?
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Did it also say at the bottom teas and seasonply?
Speaker 1 (19:31):
No?
Speaker 3 (19:32):
This is this is a deal out of house to
travel this morning on That's.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Amazing, right, amazing.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
And I tell you what, the need for a rest
and relax is so so important, and I feel like
it's one oh one, But I feel like a lot
of people don't actually value rest enough. And I'm putting
my hand up. I love rest, but sometimes I get
so busy I actually forget to rest. And there's a
difference between I think having you know, scheduled rest, like
Jason and I are about to go on some leave now,
(19:57):
and that's like, yeah, of course we're going to rest
on our lead.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Yeah, we'll sleeping of it.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
But what about the rest you have while you're also busy,
and that is just as important as well.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
So I'm going to read this article to you.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
It came out of the Washington Post, so it says
downtime is a necessary part of life. Science shows that
it helps us to be healthier, more focused, more productive,
and more creative.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
And yet somehow we all often lose sight of this.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Well established research has shown that low level daily stress
can create such intense wear and tear on their bodies
physiological systems that we see accelerated aging in ourselves.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
So, yes, this could be you.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
You are aging yourself prematurely if you're not having rest
even when you're busy. That seems like it's a weird
thing to say, but hear me out. So resting even
briefly is so important for your brain health. So they're
saying times where you're just idle or you simply pause
are super important. They say not to treat your life
(20:58):
like it's.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
A to do list.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Short pause could be and I have to say I
do this, and you guys have seen me do this.
So every morning we go get our breakfast just while
we wait for the Chasers. We have a little break
in the show, and I will go and I'll sit
on an arm chair out in the kitchen while my
muffin splits toast. Now, I don't know how long that
pause is, possibly three minutes, but I value it and
I feel like it just resets my body a little
(21:21):
bit from being frantic during the show.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
So you can go.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
You can walk through what says here, You can walk
through a forest, but you could go to the beach.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
Even if it's just for ten minutes.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
If you think you possibly don't have time to have
a little rest and reset, you actually do. But make
sure you go and do it on your own. Don't
go and talk to someone that's not resting. Okay, you
have to be on your own. Take a few depths
at deep breaths. I guess it's how meditation came into vogue. Essentially,
meditation is just rest widness.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
It is.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
So even if you've got a super busy day today,
try and find ten minutes where you just sit, close
your eyes, take a breath, and you're not going to
get old as quick.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
And put the phone down exactly. It's not been aging. Yeah,
all right, hope you've had a break this morning because
your brain is at full capacity for this.
Speaker 8 (22:07):
Chases on Coast, we have.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Nine hundred dollars ahead of the weekend, So roll ad iyes.
Who's gonna be today?
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Yes you, Jace, I'm just gonna go take my ten
minute break.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Will you ponder what you've got to do?
Speaker 9 (22:20):
Quick?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
You flick through the hero all right? Cool now? Eight
hundred double O four Coast. If you'll call a teen
right now, you and I go head to hear. It's
general knowledge questions, five of them. It doesn't matter what
you get out of five, though, because if I can't
match you, you win the money. So the number is
eight hundred zero zero four two six too. If you've
never played before, cool now, this could be your chance today.
Good luck.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Thanks for listening to the Feel Good Breakfast catch Up
podcast with Coast Tony Street, Jace Reeves, and Sam Wallas
On Coast.
Speaker 9 (22:52):
Hi, I'm m I come from Auckland, Hu.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I live out in Jason's Neck of the woods.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
So I'm looking to take nine hundred dollars in a
nighborhood battle.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
Neighbors.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
I love this. You know, actually in mind if I
lose you to a nigh but this is great? So
what a great part of the country you're in? Cold?
The light, crunchy under what this morning?
Speaker 4 (23:09):
A Kim, he's a little bit cold this morning, mate.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Yea's definitely a good frut.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
The Hey, Kim, So when you normally play along with
this quiz, what what do you think your average out
of five?
Speaker 6 (23:20):
I think I'll probably average about a three.
Speaker 8 (23:22):
Okay, we do fourd sometimes.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Well, I reckon you probably want a four today. I
just did the quiz myself and I got a four.
But I hope the fifth question is not my wheel house,
and look it might.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Be yours, So good luck, my friend. Nine hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
It's a lot of money, okay, jas, how do you go?
I don't think you can get any neighborly perks here.
See all right, he's gone, Kim, all the very best.
If you want me to pass, just quickly say passed
and I'll come.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Back to it. Okay.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
For nine hundred dollars, Kim, your time starts now. The
knoffy pie is made with what fruit? Yes, what company
is known as the happiest place on Earth? Who played
the original Beetle Juice. What media outlet has.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
Its last day on eat today? Yes? How many planets
in our solar system rotate clockwise? Have a guess?
Speaker 9 (24:20):
Well?
Speaker 4 (24:21):
Know what company is the happiest place on Earth?
Speaker 8 (24:24):
No?
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Who played the original Beetle Juice? I feel like you're
going to kick yourself when you hear that one. But hey,
Jase might have an ex brain explosion of those bring
him back in. Jace can managed a two out of five.
I think Kim's going to kick herself, particularly with one
(24:45):
of the questions, but you never know in mysterious ways,
and you know, once, I'm just gonna remind everyone once
when I said what is a fruit that is also
the language in China?
Speaker 4 (25:00):
And I said banana?
Speaker 1 (25:01):
So you know, all right, Jay, so you've got to
get a two to match Kim.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
I'm going to reverse the order of the questions. Okay,
your time starts now.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
How many planets in our solar system rotate clockwise?
Speaker 4 (25:17):
Know what media outlet has its last down here today?
Speaker 3 (25:20):
News Hub?
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Who played the original beetles Juice? Michael Keaton, Correct, He's
done it.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Everyone.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
We would have accepted news Hub TV three or AM
Show by the way, just because all of those things.
The amount of planets in our solar system that rotate
clockwise is two. Okay, would you have got more than
a two? And Kim, when you hear this question, you're
going to be like, of course it is. What company
is known as the happiest place on Earth?
Speaker 3 (25:47):
The company happiest place on Earth? Disney?
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Yeah, Disney.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Kim's head Cadbury and I was kind of with her
on that. But noffee pie is made with fruits, Mama. Yes,
so that's a solid four.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Kim, thank you very much for that. Just Kim and
I actually don't. I actually don't. Kim and I don't.
We don't know each other, do we. No, no, no, no,
no no, we actually don't know.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
You might hear something bad left in your leaderbox now.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
After beating good on you can thank so much Mane.
You live in a great part of the world. Will
they get the ABC's right? Tomorrow night's all of the
abs against England under the roof in Dunedin, and the
man who'll be listening to while he calls that game,
the dulcet Tones are the brilliant grant in that morning
There's bow.
Speaker 8 (26:35):
Are you doing all right?
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Thank you very much. White Colin you look new coaches?
What are your thoughts?
Speaker 8 (26:41):
Yeah? Look, it's very exciting, isn't it. Really it's the
sort of the unknown, the unknown factor. Firstly about the
All Blacks under their new coach and new captain et cetera,
et cetera. And England also who you come here with
pretty good form. They finished the Six Nations really well.
They beat Japan last a couple of weeks ago and
they are a genuine opponent, so great excitement around.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Really, yeah, Nisbo, what do you think Scott Robertson is
going to bring? How will we are actually going to
be able to see his impact?
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Is it going to be a different style of rugby?
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Is it going to be this risk versus reward selections
that I keep hearing about?
Speaker 4 (27:17):
How are we going to see his impact?
Speaker 9 (27:20):
Well that's a very good question.
Speaker 8 (27:21):
I don't know the answer, and that's one of the
intrigues about this game really. I mean, we can only
ready go back on seven years of domination by the Crusaders.
Quite frankly played quite a conservative brand of rugby, but
they took their opportunities when they needed to, and so
I think we'll see a little bit more of the same.
I don't think we'll find out after one game whether
(27:44):
the All Backs have changed their style dramatically. They'll obviously
play to their strengths, and their strengths are they have
a very good backline and they want to give as
much more as they can to the likes of Sebu
Reese and Mark Talia and these sort of blokes. So look,
I don't know whether we can make a judgment after
game one, but it will be intriguing and equally intriguing
(28:05):
to see how England play. Because England have always been
a very dodgy sort of a team, showed some real
signs at the end of the Six Nations they were
starting to develop a style of rugby where they actually
gave them a little bit of air.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Yeah, speaking of the backline of the All Blacks, it's
one thing you can make a judgment on the fact
that Boden Barrett's being left out of the starting team.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Did that surprise you or expected?
Speaker 8 (28:29):
Well, look, it surprised me a wee bit. But logically,
sitting on the bench, he can cover fifteen and ten
and I guess wing if he had to, because he's
that quick. But a great opportunity, isn't it for Stephen Perefetter,
who was named as a fullback in the squad. We're
going to name a bloke on the squad, then you've
got to play him at some point becaus Barrett sort
(28:50):
of got more of a utility role, I think, so
I guess on reflection, I'm not all that surprised.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Okay, So it's under the roof, so it should be
fast game. We know that which is going to suit
us well that you said it might suit England quite
well as well, though, So we're all coming together. We've
got players in our team who just a couple of
weeks ago and we're going here to hear they're trying
to beat each other now they're teammates. Will that plan
to England's hand?
Speaker 9 (29:11):
Though?
Speaker 3 (29:11):
What are you if you had to head to head
to grants? But what do you think the school might
be at the end of all this? In the wash up?
Speaker 8 (29:17):
It's a good question, isn't it. Look I'm a loyal
All Black supporter obviously, and I couldn't stand the thought
of England beating Us've actually done it twice before. They
did it here in New Zealand. And nineteen sixty three
of all times, way back at Eton Harker nineteen sixty three,
and they did it in the build up to the
two thousand and three World Camp on a terrible night
(29:38):
at Wellington. But this, as you say, we know when
you go to Dneed in these days that you're going
to get fine weather for the game. Whether it's shocking
outside or not, it's going to be perfect conditioned. I
think the All Blacks win, but only narrowly. I'm going
maybe by eight.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
I love off Nesvo, Thank you so much, and I'm
I'm so excited for this weekend because I feel like
Super Rugby was arranging six for the New Zealand teams
and we've got the new Ball Blacks coach, some exciting
new players and I'm frothing.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
So why so am I?
