Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tony Stream's Christmas Gift Guide twenty pretty four.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
We need to talk about books today. I'm going to
rattle through them. So I'm going to start with biographies
or autobiographies, and I'm going to begin with actually a
colleague of ours here, Brie thomasil Unapologetically Me is the
name of her book. It's actually a ghost written by
the same ghostwriter that helped me with my book. So
I know it's a good read because she's a great writer.
And Bree's just one of life's great people, really is.
(00:25):
She's got a real interesting backstory, so she talks about
coming out to her parents, she was raised in a
real Italian Catholic family, and that relationship with her dad
also being held at she's kidnapped basically, which you probably
don't know. You need to read the book to find
out all about that. Brodie Caine Woman Uninterrupted was at
(00:45):
the number one list for multiple weeks. Hearing really good
reviews on that one. Honey ex Black Fern, my story
of love, loss and Victory, that's on my read list
for the summer. I'm really excited to see that. Neil
Wagner interviewed him. He's got his cricket book out all
out and he was magnificent.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Man was just glorious just for the cover. He is
the most beautiful eyes, lovely tan skin. One of the
most underrated attractive person in this country. Who why is
someone talking about how handsome I am?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Since I saw a mambrilla while we're talking about cricket.
The ACC, the Alternative Commentary Collective have got their almanac,
which was the words say he discovered this year out.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
I just find it's so funny that that the a
CEC have come up with the most intellectual title.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
That would be a really cool present, I think for
a dad if he's a cricket lover present in terms
of rugby book. Sam Whitelock really telling some of the
stuff he said about his career as one of New
Zealand's greatest ever all blacks.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Some of the coaches as well telling.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
And the last sort of biography or autobiography is Matt
Heath who was the new afternoon host on News Talk ZB.
He's got a life least punishing and my husband's been
reading it and he loves it. If you're wanting to
be inspired and get into a positive headspace because he's
had a few dark times when he has hasn't had
great mental health. Matt says, it's great.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yeah, it's kind of about just stop being grumpy. Is
at the care and I think there's so many men
out there that, for some reason just lean on grumpy.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
You're right, Yeah. Top two cookbooks for you Number one.
The two Raw sisters have got their latest book out
on Salad, which is epic for summer. And my probably
my all time favorite chief in terms of cookbooks is
Chelsea Winter. She has brought out tasty and her recipes
they really are. They are so good, and she's moved away.
(02:42):
She went really plant based there for a while. She's
come back to her roots and I'm here for it.
Kid's books Lisa Carrington Chases a Champion is number one.
Gorgeous love this book really inspiring too, if you've got
a budding athlete in your household, all about like dealing
with losses and things. It's really good. Bana's Magic X Ray.
This is by Jenny Buchanan. She's an ex radiographer and
(03:05):
it talks about scary procedures if your kid's got to
go through anything in the medical world. It's a really
cute book with an Elephant. I loved it, Patrick and
George Adventure, Empathy and Friendship. This is a book for
children that feel deeply and I've got a child like this.
My middle one, Mackenzie, has had a few issues with
really feeling things deeply, Like she still talks about my parents'
(03:26):
dog that died eight years ago. You know, she still
brings out photos of him. So this book here, Adventure,
Empathy and Friendship you get from Wildling Books. Will put
all the links up. By the way, all of this
on the Coast.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Instagram Johnny New Zealand authors as well. Yes, well done.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
