Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hi there, welcome to We need to talk in our
special series on Christmas gifts. Now, this is my favorite
age group because I have two daughters in this age group.
It's the pre teen and teens. So we're looking from
about ten, which is my middle daughter, right up to
eighteen twenty. And I've got my second one who's thirteen.
This is Mammoth. It's going to take a while because
I have a lot of suggestions, but I just couldn't
(00:26):
leave any of them out. Thirty eight dollars from Glowandcojournals
dot Com The Glow Girl Journal.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
I have this for both my girls.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
It's essentially a diary, motivational, inspirational journal all in one,
and it's created by a Kiwi woman. And I think
they will love this.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
They will love.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Filling this in and it's kind of a nod to
helping them with their mental health as well. So I
think it's a really good gift, especially if you don't
know a child particularly well. I think this is a
really good neutral gift. The cutest gold bow ring. Bows
are very big with this age group in any form.
For twenty nine dollars, you can get this bow ring
(01:07):
from Suprette, so it ticks, the cost effective box, the
bow box, but also Supret's a cool store. So what
I would do is I would get the bow ring
and I would leave it in the souprette bag because
they will think that's great slick sticks.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
They a want to slick their hair.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
I'm not big on the slicked hair trend, maybe because
I've got a round face.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
It doesn't suit me.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
But my daughters are slicking their hair within an inch
of its life. If your kids are doing that, then
you'll want this twenty four to ninety nine from Bargain Chemist.
It comes at a beautiful pink bottle or pink container.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
So it looks pretty and it does the job really well.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Day's Products Again, this is from the Mobray family, while
it was Jamie Lupton. Actually she's a key we and
it's really cost effective and pretty. I got some of
these products for my netball team and they are all
in that ten to eleven age group and seven ninety
nine for the yodorant and nine to ninety nine for
the body spray. And if you got those two or
(02:04):
one of those two, it's such a pretty gift because
the packaging is to die for. I would personally go
for the yellow because the yellow is the coconut and
vanilla flavor, and all of the girls loved that the best,
and they were kind of fighting over the yellow. So
that's what I would go for, and it would make
a really good stocking filler as well.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
If you haven't heard about this, this is the series
and it's being made into a movie. It's about a
girl called Beali and she basically has two brothers fighting
over her, Conrad and Jeremiah, and they have this beach
house and it's very hot with this age group.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
The full deluxe edition of.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
The books you can get from mighty eight for seventy
seven dollars. And I think if you've got a kid
into the summer I Turned Pretty, it would be really
cool to get them reading over summer as well. I
got from beauty gallery dot Co dot in Zed some
really cool graffiti nails. They can actually write their own
designs on their nails, a cool summer activity forty nine
(03:06):
fifty for those, and you get a really cool set
of all of the different colors.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Pink Palm puff hoodie.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
So you know how the white fox hoodies were all
the rage, Well, apparently The Pink Palm Puff hoodies are
now the age. They are expensive because you've got to
ship them in, so you're looking at one hundred and
eighty two bucks. But if you wanted to have that
as your big present or going with other people, go
to Pink.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Palmpuff dot com.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
And I know that they arrive quickly, but I'd still
do it now because they do have to come from
the States. One hundred dollars for the Lorna Jane shorts
the Blueberry Rose, and when you see them you'll understand
they're in this baby blue and you could get a
baby blue singlet to go with it. There's a jacket.
I think that's super cute as well, really really sweet,
(03:51):
and they serve the purpose of being great activewear option
as well. The Signet Magnetic power bank from jbhi Fi
D ninety nine. I use this all the time. It
is the biggest life saver when you can't charge your phone,
and we all know that teams love their phone. So
you can get them in pretty colors too, like a
soft peg. There's a soft purple. There's a baby blue
(04:15):
that was jbhi Fi The Row Life. I think that's
how we say it miniature houses. You can just get
these from mighty eight. I know that that farmers do
them as well. They started around seventy five dollars and
they are so cute. It's like you construct it, so
it's crafting, which I love because it's that mindfulness again.
And you construct an ice cream truck or a conservatory
(04:35):
or a mini library so you can suit it to
the personality of the person you're buying for and it
will take them a while to create.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Over summer as well. Karen Walker has pj's.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
You can get them from and I don't know how
to say this, but it's Papanel pap I n E
double l E dot co dot Nz one hundred and
thirty nine dollars for those a satin bonnet from Superre
dot co dot Nz for thirty five dollar. The saturn
bonnets are in because what they do is they put
them over the here at night so it keeps it
from fuzzing up, or it keeps the style that they've got. Intact,
(05:08):
my daughter's got one and she wears it all the time.
Air Pods, now, this is a luxury purchase, but if
you've got the money and you're prepared to get something
big two hundred and ninety nine dollars.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
You can get the Apple AirPods.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
From Noel Leaming. I know jbhi Fi has them as well.
They are a very hot item with the teen bracket
so that they can have the pods and tap it
into their phone. I have to give you a thespian
a suggestion. Now, my daughter played Matilda in Matilda Auckland
and now the show the same director has shifted to
Matilda Wellington, so tickets are one hundred bucks and it's
(05:43):
the best show and it will be so great in
Wellington because Hamish Mooa, who's the director, is directing it
down there, so you're going to get that same amazing quality.
It's sold out here at the Bruce Mason in Auckland.
I'm contemplating making a trip with my girls to go
and see this because we just love it so much.
And it's that opportunity for a getaway as well, so
(06:03):
if you want it, you could even do the ticket
and have it as girls get away or boys. My
son loves musicals too, so he will want to come,
so that's going to be expensive for me. Another really
high end luxury purchase, the GHD curling tongue straighteners and
curling tongs You can't get away from them. GHD dot
com has them. The new color for this Christmas season
(06:26):
is the cherry red. It's really really pretty. Two hundred
and eighty nine dollars for that curling tongue. They make
beautiful soft curls and I think your team would really
love you if you did get them that. And the
last thing I have on my list for that preteen
and teen bracket are Sambers. They are the hot shoes
at the moment, so anywhere between one hundred and forty
(06:47):
and two hundred dollars. Jdsports dot cot on enz JD
Sports seems to have the best selection. I know that
my daughter wants them in one wants the baby blue
and the other wants.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
The pink version.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
But as you'll see, I'm going to seduce Sombers for
adults as well because I got some and I feel
like they go with everything. I was just a bit
late to the party.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
So that's my preteen and teen guide. I hope you
enjoyed it.
