from News Talks edb.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
For Reteptions to Please the Robyside the Crusaders return to Doctor.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah, it seems slightly odd to be talking about super
Rugby at the start of November, but there are a
couple of things to update you on and tell you about.
So great to get the chance to chat with Super
Rugby Pacific CEO Jack mes Legada. Jack, thanks for joining
us mate super Round in christ Church over an Zach weekend.
Tickets have gone on sale.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
How are you, Barney, Yeah, I mean it's great we're
talking super Ragged Pacific in November. You know, it is
a it's a long off season, but there's so much
that happens in the in the off season. So yeah, excited,
exciting times. Yeah. We put super Round tickets on sale
to the general public yesterday and the mem has had

(01:07):
a first crack at it over the past couple of
days as well, and the take up's been excellent. You know,
we're really pleased, really pleased with the response so far.
And yeah, lots of people are planning to get down
there on the ANZAC Long weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's an interesting little proposition for you, isn't it because
the stadium isn't you know, One New Zealand Stadium isn't
quite finished yet, and I know when you announced Super Around,
you know you're very confident, as was everybody, that it'll
be ready. You're staying in close touch with those involved
in the in the final finishing touches of One New
Zealand Stadium.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Yeah, we are. We've you know, we've we've got the
local Organizing Committee which includes the council and everyone involved
down there. Planning is progressing really well. You know, the
city and the contractors are all all really excited about
where it's at in terms of the in terms of
the build and so yeah, we're underway. I mean, the

(02:03):
first tickets to be sold in in the new venue
for r for Super Round, which is great, and there's
plenty of them being snaffled up, so we would certainly
encourage people to get in and get them if you're
thinking about it. They're going to move pretty quick. Now.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
There are five games, one on Friday night of course
Crusaders Warratas to one Saturday which is Anzac Day, Hurricanes,
Brumby's Blues, Reds and then on the Sunday Highlanders, Mowana
Pacifica and Chiefs Fiji and Dreuer presumably Jack's Single ticket
or single match tickets are available as well as multi
day tickets.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, we've got we've got three day passes, two day
passes and single match tickets available and you know we're
trying to make it really accessible, so you know, tickets
start as low as as not. You can get a
ninety dollars three day pass for an adult and go
and see five unbelievable games of rugby and have a
great experience in the new stadium. So yeah, lots of

(03:00):
options available for people. And yeah, I think we've got
you know, we're going to have that opening that opening match,
which will just be a big opening party on the
Friday night, and then Saturday, of course is Anzac Day,
so you know, will we will really sort of will
have our two sort of more traditional Anzac fixtures with
the Canes playing the Brumbies for the Captain Shout Cup,

(03:23):
the Blues playing the Reds for the Sellers Dixon Medal,
and you know we'll have a great remembrance services part
of Saturday and then Sunday we've got two great Daytimes Footy.
We're kicking off at two o'clock and four point thirty.
As you said, Highlander is playing more on a Pacifica
and Chief's playing the Drawer and that'll be a great
opportunity just for families and kids to get out on

(03:43):
the Sunday and have those our two PACIFICA teams play
against some great New Zealand teams.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
And you're looking forward to Super Round. So tickets on
sale now for single matches, for multi day, two and
three day possibilities. There now squads, they must be about
to be announced officially, are they?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, on Thursday, we're going to release all of the squad.
Odds we've got to stagger approach from that'll start at
ten o'clock New Zealand time, going through to three pm
in the afternoon, and so all of the squads will
be released, will be released on Thursday. And there's some
really exciting announcements and movements. You know, I've certainly been

(04:24):
enjoying seeing the seeing the team sort of start to
lead some of their their their big, their big announcements
and a lot of them are playing up up North
as we speak, or in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yeah, lots of movement in Australia. Yeah, lots of movement
in Australia as well, by the sounds of things, you know,
players sort of moving between franchises.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah. I think there's been obviously some big, big news
with Carter Gordon coming back into back into rugby signing
with the Reds and there's a bit of that sort
of cause, a little bit of a you know, Merry
go round in the in the number ten. So Tayne
ed Med going down to the Brumbies is another big signing.
And then here on the his Stakes, Darby Lancaster moving

(05:08):
over from the West to the war Retards and of
course the ex All Black you know, George Bridge coming
back from France is taking Derby spot over in the Forts.
So some really big and big movements over in Australia
and some great, some great sort of signings in New
Zealand as well.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Looking forward to the squads announced on Thursday, just on
the Automation series. Obviously the All Blacks are in Chicago
initially to play Island, then up up North Australia are
up there. They play England Sunday morning and their first
Autumn International. Do you enjoy watching Super Rugby players, you know,
albeit in their national sides, coming up against those from

(05:50):
the North. Just to get a bit of a handle
on how we're tracking down here.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, absolutely, And you know you couple that with watching
so many super super players playing in MPC Final last
weekend as well to sort of see the whole pyramid
in actions. You know, I love that. And you know
when we look at some of the guys like Warner
Dean's playing for Japan last week, Who's who's coming coming

(06:17):
down to the Canes for Super Rugby next year is exciting,
And then seeing Leicester get named in the team to
play up in Chicago versus Island. It's going to be
great seeing those guys. Those guys mix it on the
international stage, as well as all of the big stars
for the Wallabies and the All Blacks that play week in,
week out in Super But I'm really interested to see

(06:40):
how we go. It feels like it's been a long
international season already, probably particularly because we had the Lions
over in Australia and the Wallabies have played a number
of Test matches. But yeah, I'm sure we'll see the
power of the Pacific come to life over the next
couple of weeks and and and hopefully hopefully take home
some some you know, some some wins.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
And laws are slightly different at international level, you know,
not markedly different, but there are the odd little little
tweaks here and there international rugby as compared to Super Rugby,
you still keep an eye on law interpretations and I guess,
you know, think about what might be useful down here
as you continue to make the game attractive for players
and fans.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah. Absolutely, you know, we've our shape of game working
group's been been working throughout the off season to finalize
our plan for Super Rugby in twenty twenty six and
certainly watching the test matches and watching MPC. You know,
we're certainly watching very closely and we're working how we

(07:48):
want to take it. You know, I think it's reconfirmed
a few things for us about what we want to
see in Super and you know, I guess our commitment
to the fans is we're going to continue to push
Super to be you know, the fastest, most exciting rugby
you watch you can watch, and we'll be working with

(08:08):
our match officials and on the laws as well to
make sure that that comes to life in twenty six.
To continue the good work that I think we all
saw and that we sort of got great feedback on
from last season. So yeah, lots of work being done
in that side of things, and lots of planning with
our match official teams and into our coaching teams to

(08:32):
make sure everyone's set up to success come February to thirteen,
which which is going to come around pretty quick.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Certainly, is it? Certainly is here we are November. You're right,
we'll get to Christmas and then all of a sudden
we'll be all on. Great to get the update from you.
Jack has always enjoyed the last couple of months of
the year. Look forward to catching up as we charge
into twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Thanks Pinning.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Talk to you, Sam, yep, Talk soon, Jack, Jack Mesley.
They're super right specific CEO. So those tickets are on
sale for Super Round in christ Church across Anzac weekend
as we understand it. We're sort of getting fed information
which is fairly current. The single match tickets for the
Crusaders war Retars on the Friday night the first match

(09:12):
are pretty much gone as we understand it. You may
have some joy and as far as two and three
day passes are concerned, do we hear that three day
passes are also close to selling out. Andy, is that
what we're hearing? So look, if you want to be
in christ Church for what will be an absolutely brilliant
occasion super Round, you probably need to get onto it.

(09:33):
Just look up Super Rugby tickets. You'll find your way.
But yeah, as I say, just be warned that some
of the games, in particular of the Friday night game
and some of the three day passes are the allocation
already exhausted, which is fantastic. I think we all want
to get down there and see this new stadium, don't
we very much? Looking forward to that.
