right now, Facebook dot com,Slash to Melique fan page as soon as

(01:08):
that's the audio on the iHeart app, and then we'll put up the I'll
put up the share of the YouTubechannel, which is the video recorded via
the Leaky Entertainment Towers. I wantto talk about this podcast a little bit.
It's called Critical Mission Podcast. It'sagain available on iHeartRadio, the number
one provider of all the podcasts outthere. It's a big dog, and
this podcast is right up there withthe Critical Mission Podcast. If you're search

(01:32):
and just look for you to lookfor my name. It's brand new,
so it's got to get through thealgorithms, but you'll find it and just
link to it on my Facebook page, Facebook dot com slash Melican fan page.
I want to welcome in a friendof mine that we really started talking
about a podcast together. He's aproducer of the podcast and we started talking

(01:53):
a couple of years ago about doinga podcast. Mister Chad Jamison aka producer
Chad is on the hotline. Goodmorning to you, sir, Congratulations,
cheers to you. We've launched. This thing gets up and running. It's
it's been a project in the making, serve, but here we are today
is the official launch day. Itis that you're a podcast producer. That's
what you do. You have yourown studios. We use my studios,

(02:15):
the Lakey Entertainment Towers. You've donea lot of successful podcast Doctor Mitch's podcast
is one that you've done. Butyou and I've been talking about a podcast,
and let's we'll go through that journey. Everybody wanted me to do a
podcast because I'm an iHeart guy.Oh you're going to do one about politics?
And I refuse to do it.I mean, how many ideas do
we float about podcasts for me?But I just couldn't get excited about any

(02:37):
of them. Yeah, I don'tknow. I think I ran out of
fingers and toes counting. But wecertainly did go explore a lot of different
ideas of what we thought might workfor you, and you know what you're
so good at, and ultimately youcame up with this idea of the two

(02:58):
most important days of a person's life, the day of the bourne, the
day the figure out why. Youfigured out your why when you were in
Africa, in Rwanda, and wethought, well, what a great what
a great concept, what a greatidea to tell people's why in life?
Yeah? Uh, And I rememberwhen I texted I think it was a
text. I was driving home oneevening and it hit me I either had

(03:21):
been to Africa or just coming backfrom Africa, and I texted you,
I said, I think I havethe podcast idea. I mean two years,
I mean we had lunches, wehad cigars, we had conversations,
we talked to a mutual friend whowanted to co host a podcast together.
I mean, we explored all sortsof podcast ideas. I had iHeart people
saying you need a podcast. Yougot to have another podcast. You know.
I'm like, I know, butI don't know. I wasn't passionate

(03:43):
about any of it. That Itexted you and I said, two most
important days of person's life the daythey're born, the day they figure out
why. And I think your reply, and I could look it back,
I think you said, oh my, I think you have a winner here.
And we talked about it and therest is history. So but it
was, it was. It tooka while to get going as we talk
about this idea the two most importantdays of a person's life the day they're

(04:05):
born, they figure the day theyfigure out why. Talk about some of
the guests we've had. Our firstone is with Columbine High School survivor Evan
Todd, fifteen years of age.His life changed and his why in life
changed are The second one is ayoung lady that wanted to be a doctor
that releases in a couple of weeks. Wanted to be a doctor and her
life changed and she's pursuing something totallydifferent. Have you have you been surprised

(04:30):
inspired when you hear some of thesestories as you put them all together.
What's your thought about this because you'vedone a lot of podcasts. Yeah,
I think surprised is probably a littlebit of an understatement. Inspired is a
great way to describe every one ofthese stories that we've recorded so far.

(04:53):
We had decided, you know,we as we look through you know,
we've got six or eight that thatwe've already record, and so we were
trying to come up with an orderof how we wanted to release these,
and ultimately we thought Evan Todd, his incredible story of survival and faith and
what he went through twenty five yearsago at Columbine High School would be the

(05:17):
one that we thought, Wow,this is it. This is the one
that we're going to launch with. But every one of these stories is not
is nothing short of inspirational, amazing, and hopefully helps people find their way
if they haven't found their way yet. Yeah, it's fun because everybody kind
of expected me to do something political, and I mean if somebody brings up

(05:40):
something political, they can comment.I mean there's opinion. Obviously people have
opinions on the show, but we'renot blatantly bringing up political topics. This
was you heard in the podcast andpeople tuned into today's episode. The episode
one we titled it this Suck Doesn'tLast Forever. That's a quote from the
podcast. You'll hear it when youget there, but it's it's really I've

(06:02):
heard Evnant Todd told stories. He'sbeen in the news, he's he's traveled
the globe, he's been a speaker, he's talked about Columbine literally his entire
adult life. It happened when hewas a sophomore in high school and he
was telling us. He tells storiesin the podcast we put up that I've
never heard before. And again Iattended his high school graduation. I it
really is mind blowing. You getpeople take the political agendas off and take

(06:27):
all you know, we try toget everybody to kind of let the guard
down and just kind of talk aboutlife and what their life looks like.
And it's that that's kind of afun thing because everybody thinks there always has
to be pretense, and we tryto have any in this show. Yeah,
I think I think one of themost amazing things is that, you
know, and I get the Iget the privilege of hearing these interviews as

(06:51):
we record them, but then alsogoing back through as I edit them and
get them ready for to post.Of here these stories over and over,
and Evan's story was run one thatreally hit me kin kind of hard because
as you were just saying, Ididn't realize, you know, this a

(07:13):
group of these survivors that have stayedclose all these years, and without giving
a lot of the story away, what we learned was that they don't hadn't
really talked about their stories together. They all kind of knew about each other
stories, but they've never really satdown and just listen and talked about what

(07:34):
they went through individually. To eachother and some of the revelations that came
out of that are pretty incredible. So and part of that was inspired by
us inviting him onto the podcast, and it just happened to coincide with they're
getting together to commemorate the twenty fifthanniversary and they all started sharing their stories,

(07:56):
so kind of an interesting little factabout that particular one, But all
of them really start to have afaith based message, if you will,
as people start finding their why.And I don't think we necessarily set off
to make it a faith based podcast, but that's certainly an element that we're

(08:16):
seeing over and over in these stories. Yeah, if you will tease the
one today, episode one of mynew Critical Mission podcast is available. It's
I got the link up on theiHeartRadio app right now. It's on a
Facebook page, Facebook dot com, slash to me, leaky fan page.
iHeartRadio app has it. The algorithmsare wonky right now because it just literally

(08:37):
launched a few hours ago, soyou may have to look, but just
search my name or we go tomy Facebook page and you can see it.
And this is on the iHeart Radioapp. One with Evan Todd,
Columbine High School Survivor. It's ourepisode one. We have more coming every
other week or so. We'll bereleasing these, and the video version is
out as well, and I'll linkthat out at a few moments, but
I want to hit that iHeart appfirst. People can do it. This

(09:00):
episode. You mentioned the stories thattwenty five years of the making, and
Evan talks about just now learning someof his friend's story of what they went
through on the same day that hewent through Columbine. Everybody's got to listen
to it and find out about hiswife. That's all I'm going to say.
Find out about Evan's wife and herexperiencing Columbine. And you mentioned faith.

(09:22):
Chad Jamison, producer Chad is myguest. He's the producer of the
podcast. It is it is.We leaned into it. We didn't necessarily
start off saying this is a faithbased podcast, and I wouldn't say that
it is, but it is amazinghow the how the Big Guy, the
Higher Power, God Jesus comes upand it's central to so many stories and
we just kind of lean into that, and that's that's been kind of inspiring

(09:45):
as well. It has, andyou know, unfortunately a lot of a
lot of these stories start off with, you know, either tragedy or some
kind of hardship. And you know, what's the old saying, there's never
an atheist on a plane crash. And I think that's kind of what we're
seeing in these is as people gothrough these tough times, they go through

(10:05):
these tragedies, I don't think youcan help but lean on faith a little
bit to get you through that.So that's what we're seeing come through with
a lot of these stories. Ifever, and I know you helped put
together the Little real I think it'swhat they're called of. I was about
to last I was in Africa andFebruary from my charity, and I was

(10:28):
just going to record a little premiumview of the podcast and say, hey,
this is my why and it's kindof a little thing we could use.
And that's when the children all camerunning, and I didn't know they
were coming to run. They hijackedthe entire video and that's kind of the
inspiration for it. And I thinkwe'll try to tell my story because hopefully
that's inspirational. But I've said onthe podcast chat and you can comment to

(10:52):
this, not everybody's going to gobuild a school in Africa, and not
everybody's going to, you know, have to survive column in high school.
But all of us have something thatwe're on the planet to do, and
hopefully we can help people find away to accomplish that thing. It may
not seem epic, it may notbe you're writing a book, but do
the thing that you're here to doand figure out what to do and do

(11:15):
it right. Yeah. Absolutely,I mean we're all like, like you've
said multiple times, we're all onthis planet sucking oxygen, taking up space.
And you're not just here to takeup space and stuck oxygen. You're
here for a purpose. And Iagree with you one hundred percent. It
doesn't have to be epic like savingthe children and widows of Rowanda and building

(11:35):
schools. It can be something assimple as you are giving a skill a
talent and you know the whatever thattalent is, that skill, you can
give that to somebody else to helpthem be better. And I think that
can be as impactful of a whyas building schools and saving orphans. And

(12:01):
the name of the podcast is theCritical Vision Podcast. My name is on
it, Jimmy Lakey. That's meand I'm the host of the there's a
video version. The audio version isup on the iHeartRadio app. I have
that linked up right now on theFacebook page. I'll link the video out.
Producer. Chad is the producer ofit, and you'll see him linked
out there. Give him a follow, and like as well, what is
our schedule. We're going to goevery couple of weeks. I know we've

(12:24):
got several what we call in thecan in the business. We're ready to
rock and roll, and we've gotsome more things pending out there. But
that I don't even know is thata normal release podcast. I don't know
how often do we launch a podcastevery other week? Yeah, we're gonna
think to start, we're going togo every other week, So you'll see
those posting about every other Wednesday, and then you know, depending on availability

(12:48):
of additional guests and stuff like that, we may increase or or we may
decrease that frequency, just kind ofdepending well, we'll kind of see how
the audience reacts to everything that weput out and then we'll kind of go
from there. But I think whenit's a storytelling podcast like this, every
other week or so seems to beabout the sweet spot for release, get

(13:11):
people a chance to listen and digestthe previous story before they move on to
the next one. Now, Ihad a friend, a mutual friend of
ours. Andy, you'll know whoI'm talking about, he said, Laky,
I know you enough. I haven'tlistened to the podcast. He goes,
what I like, I think I'mgonna like about this podcast is it's
going to be a storytelling and you'renot going to insert yourself into every story.

(13:33):
And I said, oh, youmean like so and so. And
we talked about an interviewer that seemsto hijack every conversation and make it about
himself. And I said, Andy, that is my pledge in life.
I let my guests talk more thanI probably should, because I don't want
to always be going, you know, trying to make their point for them.
I try to do that. Soit's a long form video. It's
not Mike, We're rushed in theradio. It's a five or ten minute,

(13:56):
eight minute segment. And then thisis I mean, I think our
first episode is forty six minute. It's of conversation with Evan Todd. It
is. And that was even afterI cut it down from a little over
an hour. So yeah, sowe're going to stay try to stay around
thirty to forty minutes per episode.I think that's about the maximum attention span

(14:16):
most people probably have. But wealso don't want to cut these stories short,
so if it does go a littlelonger, we'll let it go a
little longer so that their full storydoes come out. But yeah, well,
as a general rule, you'll seethese episodes around that thirty to forty
minute mark. And not only dowe lean into the topic of faith when
someone has that as a part oftheir life, we lean into that.

(14:39):
We also it's at my studio, and since the studio of the Lake Entertainment
Towers is fully equipped, I willbe honest with you, you may see
if this offends you, don't watchit. You may see a cigar smoked
or two during some of the podcasts. I'm just letting you know. There's
no regulation on that I am allowedto smoke cigars in my own studio,

(15:01):
and so if you're just just suckit up, Buttercup, that's probably gonna
happen in the podcast because it does. That's right, that's right. I
think we both have that advantage ofbeing able to enjoy a great cigar way
or we're listening to these great storiesand if you're if you're offended by seeing
that, then listen to the podcast. Yeah, listen to it. Don't
watch it. Don't watch it becausethere we've probably put a disclaimer. Smoking

(15:24):
is seen in some of these videos. It's yeah, if that you know.
And also we have to put thatup in front of the old I
Love Lucy episodes as well, becausethey smoked there, they smoked those nasty
cigarettes. We had fine cigars.Oh yeah, you have you have your
own fancy studio at uh, youhave your own studio, and we get
to do it at my studio atthe Link Entertainment Towers. And because of
that you get the luxury of smoking. You're gonna want to move all of

(15:46):
your podcasts that you produce over tomy studio, and that could be arranged
just to send them all a bill. Yeah, I think we can.
I think we can make that happen. So for producer Chad Jamison, the
link is up. You'll see himtagged on the post. It's at Facebook
dot com slas Jimmy Lacky fan page. He is the esteemed and highly qualified
and excellent producer of the new podcastThe video and the audio are up now.

(16:08):
It's called the Critical Mission. Chad, thanks for hopping on the program.
Launch day is upon us and itis up now. The audio is
on the iHeartRadio app, and it'sother apps as well, but I prefer
iHeartRadio app, and I put thedirect link to iHeartRadio on my Facebook page
Facebook dot com slash Jimi Lakey fanpage. We'll put up the YouTube video
channel where you can see it.If you want to see my beautiful face

(16:30):
and see if I'm actually smoking acigar during that, you'll see you got
to watch the video. But ifyou just want the audio, that's it
right now at iHeartRadio. All right, glad to have you here. Facebook
dot com, slash Jimmy Lakey fanpage. Twitter is my name, Jimmy
Lakey. Truth Social is also myname. I want you to jump into
the conversation. I mean, thisis here a question we started off early

(16:52):
in the morning I want to continueto explore. Is if you're a parent
and you have your kid heading offto college right now, with all these
proteins anti Semitism and knowing what we'relearning more and more about the higher education
system, anybody really wants your kidto go to Colombia. I mean,
I don't care if they're the valedictorianSumma cum Lattie, thank you, Lottie.

(17:12):
I don't care. Do you reallywant your kid to go? Mike?
