(00:00):
I have you here on the radioshow. Jimmy is my name? Pleasured,
(00:03):
please thrilled, and I'm overjoyed tobe here, really am. It's
the day after a big election inColorado, Colorado Primary day, and yeah,
it's fantastical. I've told you Ilive in the CD eight. Up
until the new district was created inCongressional District Date, I was in CD
four. Ken Buck was my representative, and then they created CD eight,
(00:26):
and so I worked hard and everythingI could to get Barb Kirkmeyer in that
seat, who we just had onthe program. She's in the state Senate.
Barbara lost that seat to Udirik Caravelloby just a few hundred votes,
very close one and it's known tobe one of the most flippable seats for
Republicans in the nation. And Republicanslast night, I think made a great
(00:46):
choice. They chose Gabe Evans andto be the Republican nominee. I'll get
a chance to vote for Gabe inNovember. And here he is, Republican
nominee for CD eight. Gabe Evanson the Hotline Gamee. Congratulations sir,
your big victory last night. Well, thank you so much and thanks for
having me on the show. Italk about last night, Election night.
(01:07):
What is it like you get aphone call from your opponent? Obviously the
state party had tried to get youropponent across the finish line. President Trump
endorsed you in this race. Whatwas election night like? Kind of walked
through the atmosphere and almost maybe asurreal moment to get the nomination. Yeah,
so obviously seven I don't know, maybe seven fifteen. The results posted
(01:32):
very good numbers for me. Weended up winning by somewhere around a fifty
five point margin. So we hada room reserved for a bunch of my
supporters because this, you know, this is a team effort. There were
a lot of folks that worked toget us as far and we're gonna need
a lot more folks to continue tocarry this message to get us across the
finish line. But obviously a verypositive just environment. Last night, my
(01:56):
phone started ringing and hasn't stopped sincethen. I think of about one hundred
forty three text messages behind that Igot to reply to. So just a
lot of folks reaching out and lookingforward to being able to carry this message
to the general election, because weknow we have problems, and people are
excited about what I bring to tryto fix those problems. Dearrick Caravello will
(02:17):
be your opponent. She is aDemocrat and she's the incumbent there. But
people say it's a very flippable seat. Obviously, you've got to run a
good campaign. You're gonna have tohave donations. People are gonna have to
help you out. But what kindof help do you expect. Obviously money
is the mother's milk up. Politicshad said it's going to take a lot
(02:38):
of money, not just from youbut outside. I guess is the is
Washington going to be helping you outin this race? What do you know?
Yeah, Well, like you said, this is one of you know,
one of about a dozen seats acrossthe nation. It's going to dictate
which party controls the US House orRepresentatives and what that that majority is for
whichever party does end up controlling it. Obviously, my plan is to make
(03:00):
sure that we grow the conservative majority, which means that there's going to be
a lot of national eyes on thisrace. So you know, as you
mentioned, I have the endorsement ofPresident Donald Trump, but I also have
the endorsement of Americans for prosperity. So really both both wings of the Republican
Party, if you will, Ihave the Speaker of the House backing me,
the majority leader of the US House, the Whip, the Conference Chair.
(03:22):
Probably. I think we're up tolike three dozen different members of Congress,
and so we really have built avery solid base of support going all
the way down to fourteen of thetwenty two mayors in the district are publicly
supporting me, and so that, coupled with last night's resounding win, paints
a very good path forward for usto be able to collect the resources,
(03:43):
motivate the volunteers, to be ableto carry the message of Look. Colorado's
third in the nation for crime,Fetnahl's the number one killer of Americans ages
eighteen to forty five. The costof living is out of control, the
southern borders wide open. My Democratopponent has been on the wrong side of
all of the those issues, andwe can take back the seat and try
to bring some balance and common senseback not just to Washington, but also
(04:06):
to Colorado. Talk about your backgroundpost, so now maybe just going to
start paying attention to that. Youhave a background in law enforcement. You
served your country in the military.Contrast yourself. What is the contrast between
you and your Derek Caraveo and whythe people of CD eight got to send
you to Congress and send her backhome packing. Yeah, I mean you
(04:28):
pretty much hit it right there.I'm born and raised in Colorado, served
twelve years US Army and Colorado ArmyNational Guard when combat deployment overseas and then
the wildfires, the search and rescues, everything that Army rotary wing support does
here in Colorado. Did all ofthose things another ten years in law enforcement,
so I watched the descent into thepro crime policies that are currently plaguing
(04:51):
in Colorado. When I started mycareer in law enforcement in twenty eleven,
Colorado is solidly above the national averagefor our crime rate. I mentioned a
second ago. We are in howthird worst in the nation for crime rates.
And so what I bring to thetable is I bring that boots on
the ground experience of actually talking topeople, understanding what the problems are,
(05:12):
understanding what these friction points in ourcommunities are, because that's what I did
for ten years as a police officer. When we talk about the southern border,
when we talk about the fact thatwe have ISIS affiliated sympathizers and and
potential terrorists just coming into our country. Willy Nilly, I'm a combat veteran
of the global War on Terror.I can speak to that. I can
speak to the things that are goingon in the international community right now because
(05:35):
I've been heavily involved in those froma military perspective. And ultimately, that's
the same motivation that drove me toraise my right hand for the US Army,
Colorado Army, National Guard, andlaw enforcement. That's the same motivation
that's leading me to run for Congressbecause I want to fix problems. I
(05:56):
want to pass on that American dreamto my kids. I want to make
life better for my community, formy state, for my country. And
I have the legislative record to provethat. Even in the super minority down
at the state Capitol, I stillpassed almost sixty percent of my bills Because
I'm focused on solving problems. I'mfocused on being able to collaborate with anyone,
while at the same time, Isore three oaths to uphold and defend
(06:19):
the principles I believe in, soI know those things I'll never compromise on.
But I can collaborate with anyone totry to get problems fixed. I
did it down at the state Capitol, and I'm looking forward to doing it
in Congress. Gabe Evans. Iffolks want to connect, hopefully they will,
They'll want to follow you. Startgetting involved in this campaign is going
to take a lot of effort,a lot of work, a lot of
(06:40):
boots on the ground, a lotof money. Folks want to follow you
and jump into this next phase ofyour campaign, Gabe, Where do they
go? What's the website? Electgabeevansdot com. And on that website,
Electgameevans dot com. You've got thelinks to all my social media. We
got a volunteer button, we gotthe email contact Elect game Evans dot com
(07:00):
is where you go for your onestop shop. Well, I look forward
I get to vote for that therein my congressional district. I look forward
to voting for you in November andhelping any way I can to get you
across the line. Then, GabeEvans elected Gabe Evans dot com. He's
the Republican nominee for the seat totake on your dearerk care of Vello elected
Gabe Evans dot com. Gabe, thanks for your time and a big time
(07:23):
congratulations to you. I feel kindof special now. I didn't know we
got so many text messages. Itexted them last night and got a quick
response. So maybe I was justahead of the curve of everybody else to
just catch it up. Anyway,Elect togabe evans dot com. That's the
website you don't want to make.Take a lot of effort. The power
of the incumbency shall not be I'vealready told you yesterday how many millions of
(07:43):
dollars of advertising they've already reserved totry to save your dearer care Vedo's career
there. So it's going to takea lot of effort and it's going to
need you. Elect togaveevans dot com. All right, a lot of folks
struggling right now. You know whoyou are, we know who we are.
It's it's tough out there. Everydaybills, the cost of food,
the gas, the power build.A lot of folks say they're even have
to put this off on credit cards, and you know what happens. Those
(08:03):
credit cards have very high interest rates. American Financing, though, is saving
a lot of their customers' money andhelping them get rid of that credit card
debt. If you own a home, I want you to call my friends
at American Financing. You're that personstruggling everyday bills are going on the credit
card. American Financing is saving theircustomers an average of eight hundred and fifty
(08:24):
four dollars a month by tapping intothe home equity and wiping out the high
interest credit card debt. Eight hundredand fifty four dollars is like a ten
thousand dollars raise. Credit card interestrates are insane. You know that most
people most us are carrying a balancefrom month to month, and if you're
only paying the minimum every month,is going to take you years of not
decades, to pay that off. There are no upfront fees to get started
(08:45):
with American Financing. You just callAmerican Financing. If you call today,
you also may not have to makenext month's mortgage payment. American Financing nine
seven zero five to three oh eleveneleven. Let me say that number again
because you need to call them anine seven zero five to three oh eleven
eleven. We're American Financing dot net. American Financing dot net, and I'll
remind you there MLS numbers one Atwo, three, three, four,
(09:07):
and you can learn more NMLS ConsumerAccess dotorg. All right, coming up
on the program, we will continueour post mortem and review of the election.
I want to come back to thisstory about Americans take few. We
don't do very well taking our vacationdays. Not only do our employers not
offer us as much vacation day asother countries offer. Civilized countries offer more
(09:31):
vacation days. Americans tend to nottake those vacation days. So do we
have a vacation deprivation in America. We'll discuss that again here in just a
moment. Some other little news storiesthat have no, nothing to do with
politics. I'll dive into all thoseas well in the next hour. We
got Jenny Beth Martin on the program. You've got Greg Lopez, who's going
to be the temporary I guess congressmanfor CD four. You're finally going to
(09:52):
get representation back in DC after KennyBuck abandoned ship and left you high and
dry. Greg Lopez was elected tobe there until the new winner is declared
after the November elections of Greg Lopez. Congressman elect. Greg Lopez is going
to be on the show in justa few next hour of the show as
well. Don't go anywhere. It'sLakey on the radio. Jamal Bowman goes
(10:16):
down in the Blaze of Glory inNew York, and that's some sanity there.
Remember of the squad goes down.Hillary Clinton backed his opponent and seems
like a much better fit there.Latiner, I think it's his name.
Congratulations. All right, I gotto take a break. News Talk.
