(00:00):
The second half of today's program hasbeen gotten fresh off the moments of jd

(00:06):
Vance speaking, and tonight everybody's preppingup for Donald J. Trump. I
guess they're advancing the hall for himand the delegates. Four eight years ago,
when I was in the Cleveland convention, and this was the time that
I took the Friday off because youhad to clear out a radio row and
I didn't want to be the onlyradio road that night. So I took

(00:26):
the Friday off and the repeat ofthe show. And so for Thursday,
I moved hotels to get closer inbecause the RNC had me and Fox News
Radio had me so far out oftown at the Lakina. It was a
glorious and glamorous life that Ed Rollinsand I lived there at that Lakina Hotel.
It's like Rupert offered me a roomat his hotel, and Rupert also

(00:49):
offered me a flight on his plane. And I said, now the radio
guys are Fox newspeople. They've takencare of me. And we all ended
up at the Lakita Hotels out therea truck stop outside of Cleveland about an
hour after. So anyway, thiswas a night eight years ago that I
checked out of Lakina and tried tofind my own room somewhere first of all,
closer to town, second of all, something that wasn't a Lakita.

(01:11):
And then I got to watch aTrump speech eight years ago. Anyway,
glad to have you here on theradio show. Jimmy is my name,
as we do every week at thistime from Facebook dot com slash red Wave
America. We welcome into the programmister Brian Maloney, and he also reminds
you of this hour of the broadcastbrought to you by Dan Caplis. Dan
Caplis Law, a serious firm forserious cases. Good morning, Brian,

(01:32):
how are you, sir? Ihaven't heard that story before, Jimmy.
It was funniest thing my listeners haveheard a little bit, but we got
I was on Fox News Radio Row. I was with iHeart. But I
went to the convention with Fox Newsand doing Radio Row. They you know,
they schedule everything, what's your pricerange? So I show up and

(01:53):
they give me my hotel assignment likethe week before, and I'm at a
Lakinita and I thought that I thoughtthat meant next and not like a not
like a real brand new one.Either it was okay. Uh. They
they had cleaned their rooms on occasion, you know what I mean. And
I thought I felt like keitha metnext to Denny's. It dozen there was

(02:14):
not a Denny's nearby. There wasa Bob There was a Bob Evans around
the corner, and there was alocal Mexican food. Other than that,
there was a truck stopping prostitutes.I think it was all. And then
we didn't have transportation. We wereso far out of Cleveland, we couldn't
get there. And it's me andsome other Fox News people, Fox News
radio people, Fox News television guyswere there. Ed Rollins got stuck there.

(02:35):
You heard that part of the story. And none of us we couldn't
get ubers. We didn't know howwe're going to get to the convention.
And so all the uber drivers werein talent. So and so Fox said
the last one that they found thelast This is not not, as Joe
Biden said, not a joke.Uh. They found the last bus available
and it was a little party buskind of thing to shove us back,
ran back and forth every hour.It had it had shripper poles in the

(03:00):
middle. I was gonna ask ifI was afraid to say that on the
radio, and then it had stripperpolls And the funniest thing. The funniest
thing is is that Ed and Ifor some reason ed rollins and I only
we just had the same schedule toget into the secure zone. He was
going to do a television hit.I was going to the iHeartRadio row.

(03:22):
So Ed and I pretty much everymorning, every evening we were on that
bus, just the two of us. It only went back and forth to
our little Lakinita, and we hadsome of those fascinating conversations. He talked
about the eighty four election. Imean, he really a cool guy.
We just chit chatted and talked. And one day I asked the bus driver,
I said, I said, misterbus driver, the Lakita doesn't have

(03:43):
a bar, and there's not abar inside. Could you do we pass
by anything? And he said. The bus driver said, we really don't.
We're going all highway. He says, what do you want? I
said, I don't know how toget a liquor store. For God's sake,
there's no bar. Bob Evans doesn'tBob Evans is selling orange juice with
no vodka. I mean, nojoke. The bus driver said, you

(04:08):
guys aren't going to tell, areyou? And we said, no,
we won't tell, we won't say, we won't say a thing about it.
He went off some side road andfound some big liquor mart and he
said, okay, you got togo quick. We're not to schedule.
And I get off the bus andEd Rollins says, don't worry. I
won't let him leave. And I'mscreaming, Ed, do you want anything?

(04:30):
And he says I'm good. AndI'm running in the store and I
come out with a bottle of bourbonand I'm like, okay, we're good
to go. No joke, EdRollins, and I made a liquor run
in a Fox News stripper buses. That's my story. That only happened at
conventions, right. You know, everybody thinks that we were the media guys.

(04:50):
We lived this life of luxury, and there were some pretty good Fox
newspeople. I don't remember all ofthis. Some of them were in better
hotels than others, but it ain'talways luxuries out there. Let's just say
that everybody thought I was living likein the rich Carlton. I'm like,
that's where the Trumps are at I'mat Lacita. I'm the redheaded stepchild out
here. So all right, lickor run with that Rollin's all right,

(05:14):
I get focused, your laky focused. Brian Maloney, what a week it
has been, my goodness, graciousalive at a President Trump's life a convention.
He's alive, He's speaking MSND,MSNBC has now turned on Joe Biden.
Where do you want to start, sir, Well, I was going
to start by being Kamala Harrison gavea speech about the significance to the passage

(05:38):
of time. You know, aweek as you say, I mean,
you know, just when I wason with you last week, it was
a whole different world than it istoday. I mean, it's it's absolutely
crazy. Uh. You told methis morning and I don't have my other
I need to turn my other monitoron morning. Joe. I had it

(05:59):
on C and B see watching themarkets. You said morning Joe's turned on
Joe Scarborough and we have turned onJoe Biden. Now yeah, and they've
been the main defenders over the lastfew weeks, and they have said this
morning, you've got to get himout of the race. And they're saying
The only reason why he's still inthe race is that the people closest to
him don't want to lose their jobs. That's what they said, and so

(06:23):
they're keeping him in a protective bubblewhere they kind of, you know,
play up to his Oh yeah, you're fine, Joe. Don't listen to
any of them. They just wantyou out, you know, so they
can take power or whatever. AndI'm sure there's some truth to that.
But you know, last night heconfused his defense secretary with a you know,
Supreme Court justice who is female. You know, I don't know if

(06:45):
you saw that, but I mean, it's so bad. I don't know
if you saw him get off theplane last night either, but whoa,
that was really really bad. So, you know, we're at a point
now where I think he's out ofthe race in the next twenty four to
forty eight hours. And that's thecomplete change from where what I was saying
a couple of days ago, whereit seemed like you would stay in the

(07:05):
race because the Trump assassination attempt reallytook the focus off of Joe, and
it seemed like Joe was going tokind of slide in under that, you
know, with the focus off ofhim that maybe he could maintain the nomination,
but nah, not now well youhad. Chuck Schumer has now gone

(07:25):
public. Adam Schiff has now gonepublic. I guess Keem Jefferies has also
gone public. And evidently Nancy Pelosicalled him and said, Joe, there's
no chance you're going to win.Katzenberg, one of the big fundraisers,
it's out this morning, has flewfrom La to Las Vegas where he was
at or vice versa and said,Joe, the money's drying up. I
can't raise any more money with youin it. And I've noticed that Joe

(07:46):
also real quick are handing back toyou. I've noticed real quick Joe first,
and he'll only step out if theLord Almighty came to him. And
then he said he would stop outof the well, I'll lower the bar
only if they tell me that Ican't win. And then he whisper nobody
he's telling me that. And thennow he has said that he would drop
out if he got sick or amedical issues. So he's being a little

(08:11):
bit less. I guess belligerent thathe's going to stay there. He's lowering
the bar of what might cause himto get out. Yeah, and then
that's what he said yesterday, andthen by the evening he suddenly has COVID.
You know, COVID. I forgotabout COVID, did you, I
mean, who gets COVID anymore?Well, I thought it was interesting,

(08:31):
and I said, it's actually convenient. I wish the president of speedy recovery
and hobe he does well. He'sin one of those vulnerable groups of the
elderly that I wish him all thebest. But it is convenient that you
get the COVID because he's gone intoquote isolation in Delaware, which means if
Nancy Pelosi comes knocking, or worseyet, Hillary Clinton comes knocking, I'm

(08:52):
sorry. I'm isolated. I can'tsee anybody. So it's a pretty good
way to not have to see thepeople coming at you with the proverbial long
knives to try to kick you out. Well, it's a rare case of
Democrats in disunity in public. AndI mean you don't see this very often,
if ever, I mean the Democratsdo everything with efficiency. I mean

(09:15):
they don't show anything ever by theUnited face. They're very very good at
it. And yet to see thisout in the open shows that because I
mean, Joe has almost no supportleft from his own side in terms of
anybody that's a higher up in theDNC. I mean there's almost no one
still backing him, so and there'sno money coming in, So I mean

(09:37):
it's over. Yeah. So thequestion, yeah, I have that there's
a July twenty first virtual roll call, So if that happens, that he's
going to be harder to get himout. So is that why you say
the next twenty four to forty eighthours, because there's a event for the
DNC where they're doing a virtual checkin for their delegates and that's the twenty
first, which your Sunday. Yeah, And I can't imagine him making it

(10:00):
that long at this point when thewalls are just closing in by the hour
on this guy. If he doesstay in until Sunday. At this point,
I'm just looking to see who KamalaHarris picks as her VP choice,
really, And I mean that's themain thing. I just don't think this
guy makes it. I think thequestion now becomes is he make it through

(10:22):
the end of the term, AndI think, you know, I think
he'll try his best to stick inthere through January, but I don't think
that's guaranteed either. Got to beinteresting. Brian Maloney predicting that Joe Biden
will drop out of the race andthey'll put it Kamala will be I guess
the other question though, is Kamalathe consensus candidate? If he drops out?
Is somebody going to go to thefloor because the delegates. I mean,

(10:43):
he can say I wish my delegatesover to Kamala Harris, but are
they're not under any obligation to votefor someone else. Is somebody else willing
to jump maybe going to jump inthe fray? Or are they united?
Well? I think she is theperson who gets it. I mean,
I think you know who She's nextin line, is what I mean.

(11:03):
I mean, how do you denyher the nomination as his vice president?
How do you just take that fromher? And I think that would be
extremely difficult to do. And theother question is if you take that from
her, who do you give itto instead? And I don't think there's
any consensus on that. So Iabsolutely think she gets it. I don't

(11:24):
think anybody would want to because ifyou're going to get your one shot to
run for president, you want todo it with full strength and full force.
And even if you're going to bein your one shot to be VP,
who you do you really want todo it on a very short playing
field that likely could end in yourdefeat. I think one name I have
heard that they could somebody I don'tknow if you'd want to do it is

(11:48):
and I think it'd split the partyeven further is the governor Pennsylvania, Josh
Shapiro. I've heard his names floatedout as a potential, more moderate and
palatable candidate than not a Gavenusom type. Well, and that's it. And
if you're Gavin Newsom, you're lookingat this and saying, look, in
four years, I can raise atrillion dollars and be the inevitable guy or

(12:09):
whatever, and I can buy asmuch hair gel between now and then as
they need, and whatever else theguy's got to do. And you know,
because you're right, who wants togo in there and get slaughtered by
Trump? I mean Trump's momentum rightnow is absolutely enormous, but more than
I've ever seen from him before inthe you know, sixteen or twenty or

(12:31):
anything. I mean, Trump ison fire right now. So who wants
to go in there and get andget annihilated against that. Yeah, well,
Kamala Harris is about to be seewhat can be unburdened by what was
or was ever? What's what's thequote about that? She's about to be
unburdened by what was to what canbe or for what wasn't or I will

(12:58):
ever figure out her words out.But I'm just saying, I don't know
how you deny her the nomination.I think that would be very, very
difficult because somebody stronger has I knowpeople are saying, you know, Michelle
Obama or whatever, but I meanMichelle Obama comes in there and grabs it
from Harris. I don't see thathappening. I really don't. And James

(13:22):
Clyburn, the ever powerful James Clyburnfrom South Carolina, he has sounded off
and he says he got no problems. So there's a sign there, all
right, going to be interesting tosee if your predictions are accurate out there.
You mentioned the unity of the RepublicanParty in Trump. I've heard people,
and I was not following this much, that they haven't seen the unity

(13:43):
of Republicans like they're seeing this weekand the coalescing around the candidate. Reading
since the days of Ronald Reagan, the Republican Party was not necessarily coalesced around
Trump in twenty sixteen, w Bushwas not all that. I mean,
it's been the days of Ronald Reagan. Would you agree with that? And
would you have predicted that because theythought they were going to get those felonies

(14:05):
and all those convictions or charges weregoing to really divide Republicans and said it
seemed to backfire. Would you agreeabout the unity we see now? I
really would, And I think thisis the most successful convention I've seen Republicans
hold in a really, really longtime. And you know, it seems
like the Romney Ies, you know, they're just fading from the party,

(14:26):
and what controls the party now arebasically the populace. And I mean the
face that was put forward this weekduring this convention is is really really appealing
to a lot of people. AndI mean, they've got the right message
at the right time. And usuallyJimmy is as you know, I'm the
first to criticize if I think that, you know, the party is doing

(14:50):
a bad job, and they're justnot doing a bad job. And I
tell you you know, last nightJadie Vance was on fire. And I
really liked his wife. She cameacross really well. And I mean,
these guys are firing on all cylindershere between Trump Advanced, They've got a
heck of it. And I wasn'tsold on Vance at first either, but

(15:13):
boy, the more I see now, Yeah, this is these guys that
momentum like like we haven't seen ita long time. Brian Maloney, Facebook
dot COM's last Redwave America. Brian, another quick question, by the way,
we also I would have mentioned theRomney eyes. We also have the
ability now to see what can beunburdened by what has been and didn't make
the possible actually happen. We havethat ability as well, to quote the

(15:35):
great Kamala Harris, so we're beingfree to the Romney eyes. Do you
think conventions? Do you do youthink it was more fun to just tell
the story about a booze runer thatrollins. But I'll take the Kamala Harris
quote as well. Do you thinkthese conventions matter? There used to be
a post convention bomb. Is anybodyout there watching this? We got about
sixty seconds or so. Is anybodythey're paying attention to this other than those

(15:58):
who listen to talk Rady and havealready formed their opinions. I think normally
no, but in this case, yes, something there's something different about this
one. There's something different about thisyear. People are really looking for a
message of hope and the Republicans arereally delivering that. And like I said,
this is a sharp focus that isunusual for the GOP and unity that's

(16:22):
unusual for the GOP. And youknow, but the focus now needs to
be on the Senate races that areneck and neck, and on flipping some
blue states like one called, youknow, Colorado would be nice, you
know, New Mexico, places likethat. You know, let's start flipping
some places. Brian Maloney, Facebookdot com slash Redwave America. If they,

(16:42):
I would say, if America hasn'tbeen paying attention thus far because it's
a political convention, after the assassinationattempt on Saturday, I would guess there's
gonna be a lot of eyeballs onthat stage to want to hear what Trump
has to say tonight. People thatnormally wouldn't have tuned in. So this
is a big night for Donald J. Trump. Brian Maloney, it's a
pleasure. Facebook dot com slash RedwaveAmerica. The music's about to start boom

(17:04):
right on cue. It's in thebusiness. We call that a hard break,
so I know exactly to the secondwhere that music is going to start.
Got a heartbreak, Brian Maloney,Facebook dot com, slash Redwave America.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
