Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're one oh five to five the X. Good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
It is hit Man with you, and it's happening tonight
at Ace's North sixty five tenth Street, McAllen and it's
it's the Metal Classics Tour with the Foundry. Now we're
talking about former lead singer of Iron Maiden Blaze Bailey.
We're talking about Disturbed bassist John Moyer, Twisted Sister drummer
A J. Perrow, And I've got on the phone right
now from Black Symphony guitarist Rick Pluster.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Hey, how you doing, dude, We're doing fantastic. Thanks. Cover yourself.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
I thinks I'm doing good.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
You guys are on the road on the way to
the valley right.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Now, right where.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
Yes, that's correct, all right.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
It's happening tonight now, you guys.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
It's literally an all star cast for people who don't
really who don't know that much about Black Symphony. Tell
me a little bit about it. I've checked out some
of your guys videos on YouTube and you guys are phenomenal.
But tell people about Black Symphony.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Well, it was a group that I put together in
the mid nineties and you had a really good run.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Most of the success was you know, Japan and South.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
America and our biggest territory of Europe, and we had
a pretty good run minimal in the United States, kind
of starting to grow near towards hearing a phenomenal lineup,
and it was we had a really good run. We
charted in fifty some countries, and you know, it's just
one of those things where America wasn't one of them,
but it was. It was a good run and a
(01:25):
good creation.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
And I've moved on from it now and looking forward.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
To two other things. And you know, it just ran
its time.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
And you know, here we are with the Foundry now
and getting ready to rock it.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Up all right now.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Of course, you know you got the opening act is
going to be the Ratchet Doll's local homegrown favorites. That's
gonna be cool. Tell me a little bit about the
Foundry you guys. Have you guys been touring for a
while now? Are you guys maybe recording a CD? Are
you guys going to go like release the CD pretty soon?
Is it gonna be original music? Or at the show?
Can they expect little snippets of some of the songs
from from each individual artists?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
There?
Speaker 3 (02:04):
A few years ago, Blaze and I. We we did
a tour together with some guys from Toronto, Canada, and
we met him in Boston and we did a United
States tour. We pretty much did most of the major
major cities and we really found a great chemistry between
Blaze and I, and so we started working on some stuff.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
You know, I've been mixed and.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
Mastering and writing some songs for some of Blaye's solo records,
and we worked on a couple of things, and last
year we had this idea to put this together. I
kind of said, hey, you know, Blaze was talking about
coming over and I said, well, why don't we throw
something together. And so we put a lineup together with
(02:52):
John Moyer on base and had James Kotek from the
Scorpions on drums. We did at run last year. We
had so much success and fun that we knew we
were going to do it again.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
At some point.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
It's just everybody's schedules because they're basing. You know, there
are regular bands obviously, so it's fitting it in in between.
What happened was we got, you know, the idea to
do it again this year, and we we've got a
j Perrow on drums, and Twisted Sister and the chemistry
just really really works well with this particular group. So, uh,
(03:25):
what we're doing material wise is as as you know,
classic metal. Most material is this Iron Maiden material from
the Blaze era. We do some other Iron Maiden stuff
from also from the Brus era, and uh, some of
(03:45):
the Blaze material, we do some Twisted Sister stuff, and
uh and a few other surprises.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
As a matter of fact, I know Blaze is in
the vehicle with you. Let me ask you a Blaze
A quick question.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Real quick.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Absolutely, here we go.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Hello, hey, Blaze, how you doing?
Speaker 5 (04:00):
Oh great? Thanks, Yeah, it's going absolutely great here. It's
just going really well. All the reactions that we've had
so far on the tour have been incredible. Fan it's
going absolutely brilliant.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Now now you guys have been going through Texas this month,
and how how's been the reaction so far with the
crowds at some of the shows that you guys have
been doing well.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
A lot of the shows are smaller, they're.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
Not close and personal because the five that we want
is to kind of get a real connection with the
fans and.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
For people to really experience the music close up. That's
really worked. People have really caught onto that and it's
just got absolutely great. We've had everybody singing the songs
and getting into the shows. The reactions have just been incredible.
So I couldn't be happier really with what's happened. And
(05:03):
it's a real surprise as well. I didn't expect to
have such a great reaction and so much support from all.
Speaker 7 (05:11):
The funds in Texas.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
It's just been absolutely great.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Oh yeah, yeah, Texas, Texas are huge rock fans and
of course people of course remember you from when you
were part of Iron Maiden. Rick was telling me that
you you were also doing a little bit of a
solo project. Also, how's that going.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
It's going great.
Speaker 7 (05:31):
Since I left Iron Maiden, then I've made seven of
my own albums and I'm completely independent.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
I do everything butself.
Speaker 7 (05:45):
I do all over a lot of places.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
In Europe and I'm very popular in myself and that's
going really really well.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
I think it's nice to get together.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
With the guys in the bank, you know, with our
fancy projects. We're started to get.
Speaker 7 (06:07):
Together with different polls and really.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
Have that vibe of playing music together.
Speaker 7 (06:14):
And the main thing is it says that our slogan
is where method is made.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Oh, we really love making music exactly.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
That's that's that's why, you know, that's why we're doing it,
and we try and fight time to do it.
Speaker 7 (06:29):
We just love to get together and make me.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
The support that we find is absolutely incredible. People seem
to really get the vibe of what we're doing with
our gig. And you know, we love to have fun.
Speaker 7 (06:46):
Music is serious and we absolutely play them things that
we can, but we enjoy it so much.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
We have a lot of fun doing it.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
That's great. All right.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Is there anywhere I can get ahold of John Moyer now?
If I can get just a couple of minutes with him?
Speaker 7 (07:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Hi Maya, Yeah, I thought it, lazy pie, I think.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
John.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Hello, can you hear me?
Speaker 1 (07:20):
John? Are you there?
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Yes? I don't have the sexy English accent that place does,
but I'll give you some authentic Texan.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
How are you there?
Speaker 7 (07:29):
You go?
Speaker 1 (07:29):
John? How's it going? How are you? How is it
going with the Foundry so far?
Speaker 4 (07:34):
It's fun, man, We having a great time.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
That's great.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
Now metal songs and and uh, you know, I get
to play with A J. Parow again. And for those
of you who don't know. A J and I were
an Adrenaline Mom together really and uh yeah yeah yeah
after I was originally Adrenal Mom with Mike Fortnoye. But
Mike left before the last record to do Winery Dogs.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Uh huh.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
And we bought an A J. Parow and the last
A Mob record was and AJ Wow Men of Honor,
and you guys were probably playing a couple of tunes off.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Yea as a matter of fact, Yeah, that that wow.
I didn't know that. That's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Yep, souh.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
You know last year we did the Founder and we
had James Kotak from uh, I don't know if I'm
saying his name, might I think it's from the Scorpions, right,
And he came into did a great job this time around.
Uh you know, when we were trying to you know,
kind of reform the lineup and we were talking about it.
When I realized that AJ would be available, I reached
out to him. I said, man, would you like to
(08:29):
do this? Because he really played this metal stuff great,
like it's it's not it's not eighties you know hard rock.
I mean this is like European metal, you know, with
with with all the double bass that you'd expect to
hear from metal with the big you know, choruses about
freedom and you know, fighting your oppressors. So it's real
(08:49):
powerful music. You know, it's not cheesy cock rock, and
that's what I really love about it.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Now, I've of course, I've got to ask you this
question now, because of course you are, you were with
the band, you're with the band disturbed.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
When is this start getting back together and going to
be doing that?
Speaker 4 (09:02):
He asked the questions I should assume that.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Get on the phone and you're gonna ask me.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Of course, I'm gonna ask that every text, every text.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
It wasn't your first question, though, so I'll give you that. Okay,
you actually like a little four play before you hit
me with that one.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
I appreciate that. Well, So I got laughing on the
van right now. You know what, there's no plans. We
got no plans. You know, I'm sure you know we're
not broken up. You know, I hate to turn and
get back together. We're friends, we see each other. We're
(09:38):
just taking a hiatus now. As far as when the
band's gonna come back with an album or with a tour,
you know, I just can't say right now, but you
know it's it's always on the table, so anything can happen,
but right now there's no plan.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Well, I know you're enjoying it with the Foundry right now,
especially going through Texas right now, so I know you're
having a blast as it is. In fact, I know
when you get down here, I got take all you
guys out to go get some great Mexican food while
you're down here, since you're so close to the border.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Absolutely sounds great. And you know, I'll tell you this,
you know, besides Adrenaline Mob and and I mean, if
you want to get caught up, besides Adrenaline Mob and
besides you know, Disturbed and this. You know what I'm
doing with the Foundry. You know, I've been producing a
lot of.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Bands lately, so really that's been a lot.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
Of what I've been doing is working with hard rock
and heavy metal bands, and and you know, I've been
out on the East Coast a lot. Actually, I produced
the band from Houston recently called SETI. So you know,
I'm always doing even if I'm not in the band
and I'm out there doing something, I'm always like helping
new bands. I have a rock school and often, so
you know, I stay busy, and you know, for me
(10:44):
being able to do the Foundry, it's just like fair Beat.
I just get to go out and rock. It's much fun.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
That's so cool.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
John, all right, now, let me let me speak now
with Aju and and and get some information out of
him concerning some great stuff that's going on with the
band and of course with Twist his sister.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
If AJ's available.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
Yeah, he sure is. Okay, we'll see you guys, so man,
come on to the show. Will not be disappointed.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
I appreciate it. Thank you dude. Hello, ay j how
are you that? I'm doing great? How are you?
Speaker 3 (11:15):
I'm doing good, man.
Speaker 7 (11:16):
I'll try to try to sound like my friend Blaze over.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Here, so he's been walking at all.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
But how you doing good?
Speaker 1 (11:24):
I'm doing good. How is the touring going so far
with the Foundry with you?
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Oh? It's great, man, These guys are great. I mean,
you know I've done touring with John and
