Speaker 3 (00:00):
Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is hit Man with you and I've got in
this studio today Sterling Elsa, who's performing tonight at Brewster
Street Ice House. Make sure you make it on outdoors
open at seven o'clock. We got opening acts Aaron McBee
before him. Yeah, so make sure you make it on
out and you guys. From what I've been reading so far,
it says you're born from the Texas Panandal shaped, a

(00:21):
lifetime of music and a live show where row stories
and loud guitars collide with red dirt grit.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
What's going on, dude?

Speaker 2 (00:28):
What's up? How's it going? Thank you for having me
so appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
So tell me.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
First off, where did you come up with a name?
Sterling Elsa birth name? That's your birth name.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yep, they gave it to me.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
It sounds like a great band name.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
You know.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
I've been hearing that and I've never really even thought
about it before. Obviously we started doing this and then
people are like, man, how'd you come up with that?
And I'm like, I just gave it to me.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Wow wow.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
So tell me if somebody who's going to see you
tonight for the first time, describe your.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Music oh man, a lot of rock and roll, but
a lot of rock and roll. But I also grew
up listening to like I don't know Alan Jackson and
all that kind of stuff too, So like I don't
know Alan Jackson and like Nirvana.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
So would you put you guy?

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Would you put yourself in the same category as and
I'm gonna throw off some names hardy, cowtzoul and even
jelly roll. Yeah, it's a combination of country and rock.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Right, Yeah, for sure?

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Okay, for sure. So, so where you originally from? Give
me the town where you're originally from.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I'm originally from Amarillo.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
So Amarillo. Yeah, every time I hear the word Amarillo,
I think of George straight to Amarillo.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
I have too, Yeah, you have to.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
That's all we're good for up there.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Now, you've been touring for quite some time. In fact,
you've opened up for Aaron Lewis and Daughtry. Yep, uh
so how was that?

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I was doing that? Man?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
It's awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Both of their camps were so so nice, and obviously
the crowds were awesome. It's a little hard to get
up there and you know, get people warmed up for
somebody like Daughtry, But uh, no, man, both of those
we were so much fun and along wise from home too.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Both of those shows were up in Illinois.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Oh wow, So but no, I mean it was cool
to see fans of ours in the crowd at both
of those shows, you know, people singing the words.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
So how long you been doing music?

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Man? I started. So. I played guitar when I was younger,
and I never really practiced or cared very much. And
then my freshman year in high school, I kind of
started playing guitar again. And I'm twenty one now.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
So you're still a kid.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
I am. I am still a kid.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
You're even younger than my daughter. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
So of course you're touring right now. And tell me
about the single Happy never After.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, Happy never After.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Happy never After. Tell me a little bit about that song.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, man, So I.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Was in Yeah, we wrote that one in Nashville, just
with a couple of my buddies. I've kind of gotten
a crew together in Nashville now that I just really
really like and still kind of lets me be me
instead of trying to turn me into yeah whatever else
is coming out of Nashville. But no, we just sat
down one day and I think all of us were
tired and we were just kind of like in a

(03:01):
rowdy mood and we were just sat down like, man,
let's try let's try a party song, something fun, something
people can like hang out to listen to on the boat.
Stuff like that interesting, And we just came up with
kind of a heavy summer banger.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah. This has been out since what May April?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
April? Mays April make that I don't quite remember.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Wow wow, So make sure you listen for that tonight.
They're performing tonight at Brewster Street and Ice House, doors
open at seven o'clock. Tickets are still available at Brewsterstreet
dot net. You know, if there was a tour that
was out or a band that's out right now, what
would be your ideal, your wishless? So who would you
love to open up for?

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Man, I'll tell you probably one of the funnest tours
going on right now is Co and Hardy.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
That one would be fun. But you know, everybody, everybody.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Is hopping on the Morgan Wall and toeer Co has
been on the Morgan walluteer, and so I think, not
necessarily like that's not our style, but that would just
be a fun one to be on because I think
there's so many bands playing, it'll just be like hanging
out backstage like summer Camp.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Well, with Morgan Wallen, he's pretty universal. I mean yeah,
even even you know now with you know Morgan Wallan,
post Malone, Yeah, going like that.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah, he's universal.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
He's a great performer. Also, I think that would be
great too.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
So uh so.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Also, besides that, you've you've been all over like we're
talking about Spotify, You're on TikTok, you're on Instagram, you're
on YouTube.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
YouTube, you have over five million views.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Dang, do we really? Yeah, that's news to me.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Cool. According to the paper here that work five million views?
How many how many music videos have you done?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Man? I think we've done like three or four or
maybe five music videos and a bunch of lyric videos
and just other kind of stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
So, what's the one song though, right now on your
set that gets the best response from the crowd?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Man, they love next Week, they love next Week every night.
Usually it that's that's kind of the one that stands
out to me.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
The crowd usually knows that one of the best.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Oh okay, so make sure you make it on out
start doors open at seven o'clock and I asked this
for everybody, and I've actually been kind of scared when I.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Asked this question. Give me your waterburger order.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Oh man.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Okay, So I've got two and it just depends on
the day. And some people are really gonna hate me
for this. Out there, I go Patty melt, plain and dry, okay,
and usually go with the sweet tea, and then I
always get a side of honey butter to dip my
fries in.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Really honey butter with your fries. Yeap, that is different.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
It's incredible.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
The scariest thing that ever happened to me recently was
I interviewed some of the hockey players from our Marinier
League hockey hockey team, and I asked him, what is
your waterburger order? And the guy goes, yeah, Waterburger's kind
of mid. I was like, oh no, what, oh no,
he goes, I'm with Jack in the Box guy.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
I could tell you, Oh God, I told him. Let
me guess where are you from? Michigan?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah that's rough?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah, so yeah Jack in the Bucks like Jack in
the Box, No, you need to go take waterburger another chance?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah, that gut, come on, oh man, well.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
We got Sterling Elsa in the studio of course, doors
open at seven o'clock tonight Brewster Street ice House Aaron
McBee is gonna be opening up for him. Make sure
you get your tickets now Brewsterstreet dot Net. And also
at the door about nine thirty tonight.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
I think, so nine, nine thirty something like that, nine
thirty two, get there at seven and then it doesn't matter,
you'll just be there now.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Of course, you guys are gonna have like a merch
booth out there, absolutely, so you got the merch booths,
so make sure you and you're gonna have like maybe.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Do people even sell CDs anymore?

Speaker 4 (06:32):
No, we don't, but I've been asked about CDs so
much in the past couple of weeks that I think
I'm just gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
We do have vinyl.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
You vinyl?

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Okay, you got vinyl, and then probably you got like
the little cards to where you can find your stuff
on Spotify and stuff like that too, right.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
We don't, but you know, my name is Sterling Elsa
and that'll probably get you close enough to what you're
looking for.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
So if you're looking for him on Spotify, you might
want to look them for him on their Sterling Elsa.
Also on TikTok you got seventy two you got more
followers than me, and I'm an old guy, you know.
It's like most of my viewers are like in there anyway,
we got also and then of course five million views.
That's crazy on on YouTube. That's so cool, So man,

(07:11):
I appreciate it. Make sure you make it on out
is one other question I always ask, and I asked
this to all artists or something like that, if you
have any advice for somebody that's up and coming. What
advice can you give an up and coming performer? How
to for this business man?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
There's no good time to just do it.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
It's always going to cost too much money and it's
always going to be really hard, so you might as
well just go do it, because whenever you start doing it,
you're one day closer to not being broken anymore.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
So we as well go do it.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
That's the best one I've heard so far.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Yeah, I've had some people tell me some things and something,
but that's really good advice. Thank you, Sterling Elsa. Make
sure you go look from Sterling of course like Sterling
Silver and Elsa E l z A. I want to
make sure I spell that right, yep. So that way
people are searching for you, they know where to go.
Thanks a lot for coming in and looking forward to
see you tonight over at Bruce Street ice House.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah man, thank you,
