with You and I've gotten the studios right now. The man,
the myth, the legend, anything, he's a I call him
the Hockey Lord. Now here we go, Joe Erickson with
the Corpus Christy Ice Raised. Dude, what's going on?

Well, that's a wonderful introduction.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
It's been too long. We were on the road for
ten days straight. Isn't that crazy out in West Texas?
A lot of bus rides, a lot of hotels, and
I'm glad to be back here in the coastal Bend.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
So we got games going on Tomorrow and Saturday at
the Hilliard Center. Tickets are still on sale right now,
go ice Raise dot com. Correct, and there's some special
things that are happening Friday and Saturday.

Tell us what's going on.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Yeah, it's a big weekend for a sort of kicking
off an eight game homestand which is awesome. We'll be
home for the next four weeks, so that is a
big deal in itself. But Friday, we have a toy
drive which will benefit Nate's Next Kid Up, which is
a wonderful organization started by Nate Gonzalez. He's a young
kid here in Corpus Christy and he gets back to

the foster care community here and Corpus Christy. So the
toys will be donated to the foster care system, and
fans that do bring in one unwrapped toy you can
bring it to the Hillier Center box office outside we'll
get a free ticket to the game. So it's a
great way to give back to the community and also
enjoy some hockey. And then Saturday is really really fun night.

It's our Teddy Bear toss Night and it's a big
deal in the hockey community. I know, we just talked
to you Ara bit about some of the craziness that
connect Rude.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
If you don't know what a teddy bear toss out is,
basically you need to go online and go to either
YouTube or Instagram or Facebook and look what happens. It's
when they make a goal.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Right, correct, So when the ice Rays score first, everybody
in the stands will have a bear and you just
throw them on the ice. When the ice Rays score,
you just throw those puppies on there and those will also.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Benefit Nate sex coult up. So it's a kind of
a double way Ami weekend for them.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
But yeah, and then you just litter the ice with
bears and the guys are celebrating, and then you get
trucks on the ice to clean them up.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
It's a whole thing.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I think Hershey, the Hershey Bears made it really popular.
I don't know if they invented it kind of the idea,
but they made it really popular. So if you do
go on YouTube, look at the Hurshey Bears, because there
are insane what they were able to do.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
So Saturday, make sure you bring a Teddy Bear. I mean,
I don't care where you get to. Go to the
dollar store, give you life size, yeah, live size, and
bring them to the and bring them to the game
so you can toss it out on the on at
the game. It's gonna be it's gonna be really really
cool that. Now have you done this before?
Speaker 3 (02:29):
So I've done a couple of them now since I've
been in the league. So once I got in the
lead a couple of years ago. The first one I
did was in Wisconsin. I was with the team. But
last year is my first year in Corpus and it
was one of our huge nights. It was around Christmas time,
as well right, it's it's just a lot of fun.
Grayson Gerhard, I believe, scored the the Teddy Bear toss goal.

That's that's always a big thing. Who's going to score
the goals? So get get your pick sins.

I'll go with Chase Nearing. I feel like I want

on a on a good tear lately.

So okay, So what's the latest concerning the Corpus Christy
ice race.

Tell us what's going on right now? Man, They're doing awesome.
They've won six out of the last seven games. We
just came back from that big road trip. We won
four of five over the last brilliant seven days. Five
games and seven days, which is quite a lot. They
won four or five. So they're starting to turn things around,
playing some of the best hockey of the year. So
we're really looking forward to this home stand to be

back in front of our home fans. We got Oklahoma
this weekend, the Warriors, first time we're playing them this season,
so things are looking up for Corpus. Chrisy has a
bit of a tough start, but they're starting to put
it together, which is a good sign.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Okay, So on Friday and Saturday, what time does the
hockey drop seven o five, Pucky drop hockey.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Puffy hockey, pup drop seven o five put drop doors
open it at six?

So of course if you're bringing in lots of teddy bears,
get there at six. You can fit them all in
the door when you Yeah, when you get in, there's
gonna be letters of Santa, pictures with Santa as well
ornament making throughout the we can of the concourse, so
that's gonna be exciting. And one more, it's a postgame
skate on Saturday, which is always fun, presented by RTFC,
which is free.

So yeah, a lot of a lot of fun.
