Yeah, good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
You know, yesterday for Under the Radar, we did this
story about David's Bridal going out of business right filing
for bankruptcy. Did you know that one in four brides
gets their dress from David's Bridle.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
I'm not surprised, Yeah, because it's it's affordable.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, it's affordable, but it's also popular, like you see it,
you used to see it in a lot of places.
And they said the reason is because Mano had asked
me when he was here yesterday, why do you think
they're going out of business? And I was like, I
feel like a lot of people are doing, you know,
less traditional dresses, and they said that is one of
the reasons. And people are also going to thrift stores,
(00:50):
and then there's just a lot of competition online.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
There's a lot of different options. Now. I feel like
I was a bridesmaids a bridesmaid a million times and
I'm back in the day that's where we would have
to go to get our digress.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, man, they had ten thousand employees and they're laying
off nine thousand of them.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Oh my goodness, that's a lot. That's a lot of employees.
But we see all these.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Places going out of business, Party City, file for bankruptcy,
Bed Bath and beyond. As we all know because I
keep getting these twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Percent off coupons. They have a million email I'm like,
aren't talk closed? All right? Well, we do have.
Speaker 2 (01:23):

God Did, But he has his own and he's got
some interesting stories to tell us. I'm excited for him
to come up here, okay, you know, just to talk
about even how that even happened with that song and
being on there with John Legend and jay Z and
how DJ call it reached out. Also, we are doing

Each other all day, all to day. Yeah, And of.
Speaker 2 (02:00):

to shine a light on somebody doing something amazing, something positive.
That's how we like to get our energy up for
the show. I've already taken my vitamins. I've already made
a dairy free coffee milkshake this morning.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
You worked out too as well.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
I worked out this morning too. I'm exhausted.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
This show has just started.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
By the way, this.
Speaker 4 (02:21):

for the show.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
But yeah, new day.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Okay, all right, so you guys call us up. Eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is the number.
Who do you want to shine a light on? And
that could be anybody, somebody that you don't even know
who did something positive, family member, somebody who's just a friend.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Whoever it is that did something positive.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Let's call let's shout them out, Let's shine a light
all them, light on them, and let's bread some positivity

gonna get here? I mean this is crazy.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Oh yeah, it should be. It probably is here. It's
probably just got lost in the song. Sometimes it takes
a while to get to the appropriate person. All right, Well,

celebrate somebody who's doing something positive and you guys get
to join in on the spreading love eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty And today I want to
shine a light on somebody who've actually known since I
(03:40):
was a teenager.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Okay, it's my boy, Scotty Scott Lee.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
He owns engine Room Audio, which is where we record
lip Service.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
We love Scottie.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Yes, it's a lot of artists record out of there.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
A lot of people also do their podcast out of
that studio as well. Yes, and Scotty just you know,
watched him go up the rinks to become his own
studio owner, which he's done for quite a while.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
They do a lot of mastering projects there too.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
But when I say a lot of artists work out
of there, like, I've seen everyone there. You know, fifty
cent Dave east Skill, a baby recently, was just in
there when we were finishing our last episode of lip Service.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Yes, and so I've been working with him.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Yeah, Pop Smoke worked there a lot of people. I
see all the plaques on the wall. Everyone runs through there.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yes, and so it's a great time and so. And
they've also been remodeling. And I know the pandemic was
a tough time for a lot of businesses, but they've
I think managed to maintain and part of that is
good leadership and treating your clients well.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
So shout out to my boy Scottie.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
And his son, who, by the way, went to go
visit my college, Wesleyan University.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
So do you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 12 (05:52):
Listen? I want to shine a light, shine a light
on the abundance of black men that are right now
coming to me therapy. So I'm a licensed mental health
therapist and I got I just got abundance of them
for the past two weeks. So I just want to
shout around to all these individuals that's investing in their

Speaker 12 (06:48):
Absolutely we have a going all right.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Well, that was shine a light on It, brought to
you by Born in Roma, by Valentino. That's what this
whole studio smells like because we spray that every day,
available at Macy's. And when we come back, we have
your yeete, we'll be talking about Jonathan Majors.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
There have been some major changes in his career.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Will tell you who is leaving him, and according to rumors,
he's being let go from certain projects.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
It's way up with Angela.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
Ye oh, she about to blow the lead ab off this,
but let's get it. Oh yeah, Angelus feeling that. Yeete,
come and get the tea, all right. It's way yup
with Angela. Ye I'm Angela yee.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here, yes, yes,
and let's get to this. Yet, Jonathan Majors, he's been
dropped by his talent manager, Entertainment three sixty. According to
several sources, this is a Deadline exclusive. They said the
recent move by Major's longtime manager comes three weeks after
he was arrested on domestic violence charges in New York City,
(07:43):
and it was due to issues surrounding his personal behavior.
That's what they inform them. Now, he also has been
dropped by his PR firm. They initiated that breakup in
the last month as well. And as another element, they
said that Fashion House of Valentino mutually agreed that Jonathan
Majors would not be attending this year's met Gala as
one of its guests representing Valentino.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
So that's not going to be happening now.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Nobody has actually returned any request for comments. But he
was arrested March twenty fifth over an alleged domestic dispute
with his girlfriend. Yes, now his attorney is saying that
he's completely innocent and it's probably the victim of an
altercation with the women who he knows. There's been also
all kinds of rumors that he's going to be replaced
(08:28):
as far as playing Dennis Rodman.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
That has not been confirmed. And according to.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
You know, other reports, they're saying that they're just looking
around to replace him in the roles, but none of
those things have been confirmed.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
So those are just rumors at this point.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
When it rains, it pours, we'll see.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
What happens, all right.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Now, Kanye West, there's a BBC documentary that is going
to quote uncover revelations about him. According to Variety, it's
called We Need to Talk About Kanye, and it's been sold.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
To several different countries.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
After BBC originally ordered the documentary in February, they said
networks in Australia, so weed in Norway, Denmark, Belgium and
Finland have all secured rights to that documentary. So they
said it's some world class journalism and unique access to
members of Yea's inner circle. It's a revelation driven film
which sheds new light on recent events. And they said
Kanye is indeed aware of the documentary's production, but has
(09:23):
no involvement and no creative control over this.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Okay, I want to be left alone, Kanye said, I
want to be left alone.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Right.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
I can't imagine him wanting to be involved in this.
He's been, I think, laying a little bit low.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Yeah, he has right now, and we can appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (09:39):
All right.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
And Netflix has been sued over the Kanye Genius documentary.
According to reports, Netflix and Chiki and Koti, who are
the filmmakers behind the Kanye Genius documentary, are defendants in
this lawsuit. A woman from Chicago claims that they exploited
her with its release.
Speaker 13 (09:58):
Now.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
The suit was filed by Cynthia and she originally made
a cameo and then through the Wire video which Cootie
and Cheek directed also and they said she was paid
twenty dollars for that appearance. She was dancing inside a restaurant.
She says she was in an altered state and not
capable of providing consent at the time.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
And she's upset.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Then an extended version of that moment was then shown
in the Genius documentary. It represents a part of her
past that she'd liked to move past, and she claims
she's now been sober for nearly eighteen years and repaired
relationships with friends and family, and that documentary revealed her
dark past to me and who were unaware of her background,
So she had to rehash these bad memories.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Okay, she's only soone for thirty thousand.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Right, and you know she's saying that, and that's a
minimum of thirty thousand the damages.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yeah, but usually minimums are more than that.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Do you know the scene that she's referring to?
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Yeah, okay, it too Yeah, yeah, what do you think?
Would you be embarrassed if that's?
Speaker 11 (10:51):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Horrified?
Speaker 4 (10:53):
But I think the main thing is I don't know
if she signed a consent form or not.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
She said she was in an altered state, so it
sounds like she did. But she was in an altered.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
State, yes, So I don't know how that holds up
in court.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yeah, because I wasn't really a clear and sound mind
kind of thing. Yes, it is embarrassing though in twenty dollars.
Come on.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Now, Well, this ninety four Freaknik documentary is going to
be embarrassing for a lot of people, and according to reports,
a prominent group of black professionals are suing Hulu over
that documentary release. So many of the people who were
in this are now in their forties and fifties and
in the prime of their careers. There's a group of
prominent black professional women who plan to sue based on
(11:31):
concerns about what could potentially be exposed. They're finding a
lawsuitent in Atlanti's federal court against Hulu. They're saying it's
unlawful because they did not sign media releases.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Okay, well that's a fact.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
They said.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
It's one politician, three high level corporate executives, and one judge,
and they just okay, judge.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
But they're trying to remain anonymous right now.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Of course they are.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Oh, it is going to be crazy. I see some
guys upset too. All right, well that is your yet.
And when we come back, we have about last night.
That's where we discussed things that we did last night,
just like what everyone else is doing.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
It's way up at Angela Yee last night.
Speaker 7 (12:06):
So about last night last night, last nights, I went down.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yes, it is way up at Angela.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Yeah, I'm Angela Yee, and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand
is here.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Good morning, Angela.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Good morning. And about last night is where we talked
about what we did last night. Now, I was in
Vegas over the weekend and I flew back in on
the Red Eye, which means I landed at like seven in.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
The morning, and then came to work jet lagged.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Did you were you on Delta one you lay it
all the way back?
Speaker 2 (12:34):
No, they didn't have that available, so it was just
a yeah, okay, regular first classy, not the laid back.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
So yes, my back hurts right now.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Right, That's how I'm getting at So yeah, I did
not sleep really well on the flight. I did sleep
off and on, then came to work, then after work,
had an interview, then had to do a zoom. I
had a lot of different responsibilities yesterday. And let me
tell you something about me. I feel an obligation to
do things like I know people who will be like, oh.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
I'm canceling.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
I got to take care of my space and my boundaries, X,
Y and Z. But if I say I'm going to
do something I'm very dead set on.
Speaker 4 (13:11):
I got to try. It's very rare that I cancel.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Like I've had a couple of things because of launching
this new show that I've had to reschedule or cancel,
and it breaks me, like every time. I hate not
being reliable. Right now, I want to ask you, how
quick are you to cancel? Because I also know people
who if they say they're about to do something or
go somewhere, there's like a seventy five percent chance that
they're going to cancel.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Yes, we schedule it. And I don't want to be
that person.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Some people are professional cancelers, you know, it's a fifty
percent chance that they're not going to You know.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
There are certain people that I know if we're supposed
to do something or we have something scheduled, I don't
even act like it's happening.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
So I know people like that. I don't cancel unless
I'm unless I'm really sick. Right, I just try to
just kind of power through and push you. But also
don't say yes to a lot of things either.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
That's the important thing, right And I also feel like
as a respect thing, as soon as you know that
you're not gonna do something. The earlier you can give
somebody a better up, the better Yeah, right, and you know,
being valid being like, look, this came up, so I
won't be able to do it, instead of sometimes we
procrastinate and wait till right before and you're like, hey,
I won't be able to make it in five minutes.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Yeah, you know that's not cool.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
And I think that's definitely not cool. So that was
just a conversation I was having. I like to be
known as a person that if I say I'm doing something,
I'm going to keep my word. I like to be
reliable to my friends, and sometimes it is to the
detriment of my own.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Yeah, because you got to make you got to make
sure you're not overextending yourself because you say you say
yes a lot of times, right, and then you're kind
of miserable afterwards, not during it, you're not. But you're
like Jazz, I can't like this is I'm like, okay, well,
why are you telling all these pops?
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Yeah, so I try to balance him, but you know,
I do feel like I want to do my.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Best to support other people.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Yeah, understand that, because then I need things and I
don't want to ever. I also hate asking people for
things that might have needed me in the past and
I didn't deliver.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Yeah, but best believe they don't mind asking you.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
That's believe it. Actually. Yeah, there's somebody just canceled on us.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Yeah. The thing is you.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Knew it and I knew it, and I said, I'm
not going to say who it is. Yeah, but there
was an artist that was scheduled to They are in
the books. They were in the books, and it just
got canceled for today.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
And I had.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Told you last night you said they're going to cancel.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Yeah, I was like this person never you know, but
I don't want to be that person ever.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Yeah, well you're nowhere near that person, you know.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
I don't want to be like that.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
But anyway, that was just about last night me pushing
myself to do the living and then I always feel
good afterwards, like I'm glad I took care of that.
Now you know you're tired afterwards, but I'm glad I
took care of it, or us I would have still
had to do it. Okay, all right, now let's do
our Gurus of the gram.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
When we come back, we're going to talk about this topic.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
This is Zion Zachai on Instagram, and he is basically
talking about petty situations and relationships and arguments, but maybe
they're not so petty.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 14 (15:56):
If you're in a relationship and at any point your
partner tells you that it makes them on comfortable that
you're engaging with another person, stop liking, stop commenting, stop
following them completely, stop all of the engaging you're doing
with that person. Don't argue with them, don't try to
justify your actions, don't try to negotiate with them. Just
(16:19):
stop prioritize your partner.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
All right.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
I want to see what you guys thoughts are on that,
because sometimes your partner wants you to do things that
and it's a red flag, right they're upset and jealous
of everyone and everything and insecure and sometimes they have
a valid point.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
We want to see what you think.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
It's Gurus of the Gram eight hundred two nine fifty.
Speaker 7 (16:39):
The Kapanah, they are Gurus of the Gram.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
Yes, what's up? Its way?
Speaker 2 (16:44):
You put angela ye, I'm angela Ye. And Jasmine from
the Jasmine Brand is here.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Happy Tuesday, Happy Tuesday, and we are talking about Gurus
of the GRAMD.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
We send each other these all the time.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
It's a little sickening.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
Yeah, it's all.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
These Instagram experts, and sometimes we agree with them and
sometimes we don't. Now this, Zion's a KI and he
is talking about whether or not you should listen to
your partner if they tell you they're uncomfortable or they
don't like you communicating with another person.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
Okay, if you're in.
Speaker 14 (17:11):
A relationship and at any point your partner tells you
that it makes them uncomfortable that you're engaging with another person,
stop liking, stop commenting, stop following them completely, stop all
of the engaging you're doing with that person. Don't argue
with them, don't try to justify your actions, don't try
(17:32):
to negotiate with them.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
Just stop prioritize your.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Partner, all right, what are your thoughts, Jasmine?
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Would you just stop if your a significant other said
I don't want you communicating with this other person?
Speaker 3 (17:44):
No, I don't. I feel like if I don't, if
I'm not a cheater and I'm not doing anything inappropriate,
if I'm leaving, like you know, kissy faces, I can
see that being a problem. But just liking someone I
know if I know them I don't think there's anything
wrong with like following them. And you know, if I
have a history of cheating, I understand it being a problem.
But you know, if somebody maybe that you used to date,
what about an ex. I don't have any issues with
my exes, so I can still follow them.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Right, I've actually yeah, I follow a couple of my
exes and every now and then we speak and they
might hit me up, like if it's a holiday or
my birthday.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
Yeah, so it's not that big of a deal.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Now.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
I think if you're constantly talking to somebody and it's
like they're hitting you at midnight one in the morning,
like come on, yeah, that's a little bit, like all right, now,
that's too much.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Now you're violating.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
And I think that you have to you have to
take that into account, whether it's something that you feel
like is a ridiculous request, or whether it's something that
is okay, that makes sense, Yes, because sometimes it does
make sense. Sometimes it's like, Okay, it's inappropriate for somebody
to be calling you at this hour, And I think
if somebody respects your relationship, they'll agree with that.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
Yes, Like I'm not even going to do that.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
I know she's with her man, right, or he's with
his girls, So I don't, you know whatever.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
So he can't be seeing you eggplant emojis at three
in the morning.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
No, okay, definitely not all right? So I want to
see what you guys think.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Hello, who's this?
Speaker 13 (19:00):
What?
Speaker 10 (19:00):
Actually?
Speaker 4 (19:00):
How are you? How good? Ashley?
Speaker 8 (19:02):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (19:03):
What are your thoughts?
Speaker 9 (19:04):
Well?
Speaker 11 (19:05):
To me, this looks like a fifty fifty I have
fifty fifty feelings on this. So I feel like if
my part to actually to stop engaging with someone, right,
I won't for the they feelings, but I always send
the things when it comes to men, like if it
was the other way around, how would they feel about it?
When you tell your man you don't like him doing
something with another female, they make it seem like you're
(19:25):
jealous for their friends, right, So this is really like
a sticky situation for me.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
I don't yeah, because I think it depends on how
reasonable is it, right, Like is he thought and like
on social media like in a girl's picture leaving comments
and it looks crazy? Or is it somebody that he
really is friends with, who you're comfortable around, who you've
been around.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
It depends and doesn't have a history of doing inappropriate
stuff on social media, I think is the probably the
bigger thing.
Speaker 11 (19:48):
Yeah, but you also have some man where even if
a person is just your friend and they know it's
just your friend, you saw your friend, your friend look nice,
they be jealous. Some guys really struggle with their own
insecurities and they're projecting on you, say partner.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
Right, And sometimes it's because they didn't do something.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
The guilt.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Yeah, so and they're like, she must be doing the
same thing, right.
Speaker 15 (20:08):
Exactly right.
Speaker 11 (20:10):
So for me, if I'm not being inappropriate with the
person and you coming at me, I'm gonna.
Speaker 15 (20:14):
Look at you like the stupid like, what's wrong with you?
Speaker 11 (20:16):
Why would I just stop talking to my friend because
you feel the way I would have tell you.
Speaker 15 (20:21):
To start talking to your friend.
Speaker 16 (20:22):
Right.
Speaker 15 (20:22):
That's so, Hey, go to therapy, see hope.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Okay, Well, thank you, she answered the question for herself.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Did Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
I think it's all subjective depending on the circumstances too.
Speaker 15 (20:33):
You're right, but I'm still tell him go top because
my friends.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
All right, thank you, You're welcome.
Speaker 11 (20:40):
Have a good one.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Hey, Dmitri you okay, how are you very much?
Speaker 4 (20:46):
What do you that's about? Gurus of the gram today.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
If you're if you're a friend, if you're whoever you're with,
your significant other told you to just stop communicating and
stop doing all of that with someone else, would you listen?
Speaker 17 (20:59):
You have to listen. You have to stop because it
goes both ways to respect ding. I know some people
don't like that, but out of envy and jealousy, but
you have to stop and listen to your partners if
you want relationship.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Last has that ever happened to you?
Speaker 17 (21:12):
Oh? Yes, definitely.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Did your significant other have reason to be concerned about
you doing some of that stuff on social media?
Speaker 12 (21:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 17 (21:23):
I think it was more all of jealousy. But at
the same time, it goes both ways. Again, you have
to listen to your counterpart if you want to let
your relationship to work.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Okay, all right, well.
Speaker 17 (21:33):
Thank you, all right, thank you, have a great day.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
You too, Hey, Alex probably good morning.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Good morning. What are your thoughts about gurus of the gram.
If you're a significant other told you stop liking pictures,
stop communicating with a member of the opposite sex, would
you pay attention?
Speaker 10 (21:47):
I think there's levels to it, Angela. And what I
mean by that is if you're married and your spouse
has a feeling one word or the other about somebody
you're communicating openly with online, and I think you should
respect their wishes. But if you're dating somebody and they're
trying to stop you from talking to this person or
that person, are interacting with this that person, big red flags.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Okay, okay, So if you're married, it's okay. But if
you're not married, then.
Speaker 10 (22:13):
You yeah, yeah, I don't think they have the right
to tell you.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
But what if you're working to our getting married and
they're like, look, I can't take you seriously.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
If you're doing these things.
Speaker 10 (22:22):
Well, then my next question would be, why are you
worrying about the next person? If I'm sitting here looking
you in your face, then why are you worried about
the next person?
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Until that ring is on the finger?
Speaker 5 (22:33):
A good agent?
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Thank you, free agent.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
I love it.
Speaker 10 (22:40):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (22:41):
All right.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Well that was Guru's of the ground.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
We do that now every Tuesday and Thursday, okay, where
we take Instagram Guru and we see what you guys think.
You get to weigh in whether or not you agree
or disagree, because we do this in our spare time.
We do and when we come back, we have a eut.
We'll be talking about Chance the Rapper. This video that
they are saying is from Jamaica Carnival of him dancing
really whining on somebody, and it has spread quite some
(23:07):
controversy with different sides weighing in. We want to see
what you think, but we'll talk about it. And yeats
way up with Angela yee, they.
Speaker 7 (23:14):
Say in the rooms from industry shade to all of
gossip out, Angela's feeling.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
That yet, all right, what's up? It's way up with
Angela yea.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
I'm Angela ye and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot
Com is here. Okay, I'm not just the brand, I'm
my own brand, Angela.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
All right.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
In Chance the Rapper has been called out because of
his dancing.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
It looks like he was at Jamaking Carnival.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
And you see him behind a woman she's you know,
grinding on him.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
He does give a little slap.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
You brought to my attention, the little slap.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yes, And so the thing is right, when you go
to carnival, people do dance like that, and right, it's
not a big deal.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
The slap was where it got a little extra for you.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
But people were saying it's a side eye because he's married,
and everybody was like, aren't you married?
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Aren't you married? Who knows if his wife is mad
or not?
Speaker 3 (24:03):
She might be okay with if you go onto the
Jazz brand Instagram. We also have another clip of him
and dancing with another young lady like this. I didn't
see another slap for this other young lady.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
But right, And I think he had to know he
was on video. I mean there's people around, and Carnival
just kind of gets like that.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
He looks like he's holding a drink.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
And how would you feel for your man was doing that?
Speaker 2 (24:21):
I mean, if it's Carnival, it's not really it's Carnival.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Yeah, I don't. I mean, I don't think it's that
big of a deal at Carnival.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
What about the smack?
Speaker 2 (24:29):
The smack is a lot, but you know, I mean,
how would you feel what if it was in the
strip club and the girl was dancing and then he
smacked her in it?
Speaker 3 (24:38):
It's a strip club. I'm okay with that. In the
strip club, okay? Yeah, all right, so then you might
be okay with this too. It's Carnival, it's Carnival. Yes, okay,
all right.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Terry Lane's his sentencing has been delayed again as his
attorneys are filing a motion for a new trial. They
said they plan to file on May first, a supplemental
response to the motion that has further delayed the sentencing.
Jud John yesterday said a hearing from May eighth, with
the expectation that the sentencing will happen within thirty days
of that hearing if the motion for a new trial
(25:08):
is denied.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Chriss has been going on.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
I know, it feels like it's been a really long
time and it's being dragged out or drug out.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
All right now.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
People are saying, you know, Megan needs some closure, and
Megan the Stallion, by the way, has recently done in
her own words, talking about everything that happened, she said,
I don't want to call myself a victim. As I
reflect on the past three years, I view myself as
a survivor because I have truly survived the unimaginable. Not
only did I survive being shot by someone I trusted
(25:37):
and considered a close friend, but I overcame the public
humiliation of having my name and reputation dragged through the
mud by that individual for the entire world to see.
So you should read the whole entire article that she did.
In her own words, she said, she started falling into
a depression and didn't feel like making music. I was
in such a low place that I didn't even know
(25:57):
what I wanted to rap about.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
I wondered if people even care anymore.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
And she did take a break, by the way, she
took a significant break.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Yeah, and this is all.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
From l Yep. She said that. I think she said,
this is the last time she's going to talk about
this publicly.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Yeah, she said, hurts for all the women around the
world who are suffering in silence, especially if you're a
black woman who doesn't appear as if she needs help.
So many times people looked at me and thought, you
look strong, you're outspoken, you're tall. You don't look like
somebody who needs to be saved. They assume that, per
preconceived stigmas, I didn't fit the profile of a victim
and that I didn't need support or protection. So she
(26:30):
talked a lot about the backlash that she got after
speaking out from that incident. Okay, all right, And Danielle
Caesar's latest album Never Enough, that's his first album in
four years, is his most successful project to date, number
two on Billboard's Top R and B Albums. It debuted
at number fourteen on the Billboard two hundred charts. It
got thirty million streams, and it dropped. That's the biggest
(26:50):
sales debut for a male R and B artist this year.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Congratulations to Daniel.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
Congrats to Daniel Caesar.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
All right, and that is your eet And and when
we come back, we do have under the radar. These
are the stories that are not necessarily headline news stories,
although sometimes we have to do that because there's no
way to avoid it. But we try to give you
stories that may not, you know, be everywhere. It might
be some things that we feel like you need to
know and maybe you're not hearing it on all these
(27:18):
other platforms. We want to make sure you're aware. It's
way up with Angela Yee. When we come back, we
have under the radar, under the radar news.
Speaker 7 (27:26):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
Yes, it is way up at Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
I'm Angela Yeean Jasmin from the Jasmine brand dot Com
is here, I'm here and these are the under the
radar stories. Now this is one that is not really
under the radar, but we're going to keep on talking
about it. And this is the story of Ralph y're all,
the sixteen year old who was shot after going to
the wrong house.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
He was going to pick up his.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Siblings and he was shot by Andrew Lester, an eighty
five year old white man. He has now been charged
with one count of felony assault in the first degree
and one count of armed criminal action that's also a felony,
And according to his statement of police, he's saying that
he had just laid down in bed when he heard
the doorbell ring. He picked up his gun and went
(28:08):
to the front door, which is an interior main door
and an exterior glass storm door, both of which were locked,
and he said he saw a black mail pulling on
the exterior storm door handle. He believed somebody was trying
to break into the house, and shot twice within a
few seconds of opening the door. He said he had
never seen the man before and that no words were
exchanged during the incident. In the mill had not said
anything prior to pulling on the door handle. Well, because
(28:30):
you didn't ask anything.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
Right, this is hard.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Can I help you?
Speaker 2 (28:34):
You know, you almost killed a sixteen year old and
now that sixteen year old Ralph Yarl is going to
be traumatized. Fortunately he is still alive, yes, right, and
his mom sat down with Gil King and discussed Joe
Biden's phone call that she got.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
I understand that President Biden called your home yesterday. What
did he say to you all?
Speaker 16 (28:54):
He said that he and Ralph choked that his dad
was a clarinet place, and his dad told him that
if it depended on President Biden to support the family
on his musical skills, the family was going to die hungry.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
And Ralph told him that he had jokes. Oh, it's
nice to hear that. He's still got a sense of humor. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
So fortunately, fortunately it seems that Ralph er world will
recover physically but emotionally formally. That is some forever because
even after he was shot in the head and trying
to get help, nobody, none of the neighbors would try
to help.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
This is so sad. Sidebar Andrew Lester looks a little crazy. Yeah,
am I allowed to say that?
Speaker 4 (29:39):
Well?
Speaker 3 (29:39):
He said, it is muck shot.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
He looks and you know, Lee Merritt and Attorney Bankrump.
Both attorneys are representing Ralph y'all's family, Rafaarll and his family,
and they are saying that the President said that they
want to make sure that the was just that there's
justice for Ralph y'all for everything that's been happening.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
I'm glad that he has representation that's going to really
bring this story to the forefeet.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Because they might not ever have heard about it.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Yep, okay, all right, and a nick you nurse has
adopted a fourteen year old patient who delivered triplets alone. Now,
according to Sharia Small, she was in Indiana and her nurse,
Katrina Mullen, took note that Small's babies were premature. They
were born at just twenty six weeks when on average
(30:25):
it's thirty three weeks for triplets. Right, And due to
their early birth, the babies Serenetti, Samari and say I
had to stay at in the nick you at a
Community Hospital North in Indianapolis for more than five months.
According to Today dot Com, they actually got to know
each other really well, the nurse and Sharia Small. And
here is what nurse Katrina Mullen had to say about
(30:47):
helping out with the family and taking care of not
just the triplets, but also the mom.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Tell me about the first time you saw Shariah.
Speaker 18 (30:55):
I knew this backstory of that she was a young mom,
and I just thought, Man, how hard that would be.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
I was teen mom.
Speaker 11 (31:04):
I didn't have my own mom, so she was basically
the only person that I had.
Speaker 18 (31:09):
Without a moment's hesitation, And I said yes because I
didn't want her, after everything she'd already been through, to
have to be separated from them. How did you even
have like the bandwidth to say yes to that?
Speaker 3 (31:21):
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Wow, Yes, so Shouldia, fourteen years old, gave birth to triplet.
She would have lost the babies to fuss to care
if the nurse Katrina Mullen had not stepped in and
adopted her.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Listen, my daughter was a nick you. She was in
there for like one or two months. The nick you
nurses are the sweetest and kindest and most gentlest nurses,
and they are really providing these babies like twenty four
hour around the clock service.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
So and that's also a horrifying, like scary time for
you as.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Mine, because you have I had to leave my child there,
I had to leave my baby there. Rain wasn't even
three pounds when she was born, so you see all
kinds of different like you know, babies in there that
are being caredful by these nick nurses. So kudos to her.
I love this story, all right.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Well, that is you're under the radar, and we do
have the Way Up mix at the top of the
hour so you.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
Can dance on a Tuesday with us.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Also, Friday is joining us, Philly's own Friday God did
and he's gonna tell you his story about basically how
he's become one of the most sought after artists and
he's a he's a threat because he not only does
he write his music but production all of that.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
All right, it's way up put. Angela Yee. She's like
the like they Angela Jean, like they Angela jee Man.
Speaker 8 (32:32):
She's spelling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Yes, it's way up put Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot Com is here.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
Yes, this is also a favorite of ours. It really is.
I get excited. It's so much stuff always coming out.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Well, Kelly Ripper, welcome to her husband, Mark onzwellas that's
her new live co host after Ryan C. Kress left,
and they had their first episode yesterday.
Speaker 4 (32:59):
Here's how it's.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
Joining me today and permanently until one of us dies.
Speaker 11 (33:05):
Is Mark Kenswill, I just want to say a quick
thank you for trusting me to be your copier.
Speaker 8 (33:11):
I really appreciate it.
Speaker 11 (33:12):
Michael and Art I appreciate it as well. It's so
nice to see so many family friends and yeah, America, thank.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
You all right now.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Mark Conchwello spoke to us Weekly last night and he said,
I always feel at home with Kelly, but working together
this morning just felt so right. He said they've always
felt at ease when they're together, and he said we
feel lucky that we get to do that daily as
co hosts. And she said he's a natural and I
have a good feeling this is going to be great.
For a while, there was some criticism up the two
of them together, and then there's some people that enjoyed it.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
But you know, it gets it keeps the people talking.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
And he's been a guest on there quite a bit.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
So Angelo, would you know, Okay.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Okay, next story, all right now.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Danna Jackson recently one today and here's what she had
to say about her son Lisa. She was talking to
the host Danelle Jones.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
What is it about being a mom that just completes
you everything? When you're tired, when you need a break.
I just love it all.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
When you're in that moment, you see something special happens,
it's like, oh my God, and I know I'm gonna
remember this for the rest of my life.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
Start I'm getting emotional because I'm thinking of one.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
Thing in particular and I'll never forget it.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
And now she's so beautiful, and I just thought, that's
my baby.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
We can be emotional because.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
I get it.
Speaker 8 (34:33):
I have three little ones.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
It puts everything in perspective.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
That's the highest for me being the MoMA.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
You her little son is so.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Cute, hey, and I like how she barely shows them,
but go ahead.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
And they had the opening weekend of her Together Again tour.
It was at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
in Florida.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
Okay, I wonder, I guess she probably brings her son
on tour with her and stuff. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
Yeah, because you've got people that can help out with that.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
Take care of me.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Shut out to my DJ active too, and he's heard
DJ oh nice all right. Now, Meek Mill is going
to be marching in Poland to fight anti Semitism. He's
going along with Robert Kraft. It's the thirty fifth International
March of the Living and they're commemorating the eightieth anniversary
of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. So you know, they've previously
teamed on criminal justice reform with their Initiative Reform Alliance,
(35:22):
and so now they're participating in the March of the
Living today. It's part of a delegation from Robert Craft's
Foundation to combat anti Semitism and they have launched a
new twenty five million dollars Stand Up to Jewish Hate
campaign that's being supported by Mike Tyson, Tom Brady, John
bon Jovi and Moore.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Would you consider Mek Miller activist, Angela.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Well, he's been doing all this stuff a Reform Alliance,
So I guess if you're active, you know in that
way and if anybody can do it, I mean, we
saw a lot of things that were done to him
when he was on probation on a parole for such
a long period of time. To find out that cops
were lying the situation, he had to go do through
with the judge. So if anybody has first and experience
(36:03):
and they can help educate other people, Like Michael Rubin said,
he didn't realize how flawed the system was because he's
not somebody that had to go through that until Meek Mill.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
All right.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Now, Erica Baddo and Yes See they have joined forces.
They're doing a tour together, you know, yeah, Seen Bay
formally known as Most Deaf. Yes, and so they have
a tour that kicks off on June eleventh. It's called
the Unfollow Me Tour.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
I love the title.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
No, Erica bado is so hilarious. Yes, so shout out
to them for that tour.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
Are we gonna go? I used to have when he
was Most Deaf. I used to have a crush on
Most Deaf. Oh really, ain't that random?
Speaker 5 (36:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (36:36):
That is?
Speaker 2 (36:37):
I actually known him for a really he's from Brooklyn. Yeah,
so I've known him for a super long time.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Yeah, okay, are we going to one of the shows?
Speaker 2 (36:43):
We definitely can. Erica Baddo is like family to me.
You know, she has a child with Jay Electronica.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
One other one your bff.
Speaker 4 (36:51):
Yes, and she was actually a pair Rapuma the other day.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
She stopped by to see you, Angela.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
Yes, so shout out to Erica Bado Okay.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
All right, and another friend of ours, tasharaj Zones from
page six. She recently did an interview with Marcus Houston
and this had you so tight just now.
Speaker 4 (37:06):
I hadn't even seen the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
And Jasmine was like, I hate it here when this
story happened, But here is Tashari Jones from paid six
interview with Marcus Houston.
Speaker 19 (37:15):
There's a lot of women my age, updated women my age,
and you know, they may have baggage, they may have kids,
they may have not. You know, it's just there's there's
so many different women that I've dated throughout my life
and this just so happened to be the one.
Speaker 8 (37:27):
That caught my heart.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
So red black, No, you're out red black for me
always if a woman had a kid.
Speaker 19 (37:34):
Nothing against single mothers with children, but just with me,
for when I grew up, I never really wanted kids.
Speaker 8 (37:40):
And you know, I would talk to my dad a lot.
Speaker 19 (37:42):
And he would be like, he would always tell me, look,
have your own kids. You know, you don't know what
the baby daddy's about.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
He said. He YESSO doesn't like women with the attitude.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
But I don't have a problem with him not liking
women with kids. Although have a kid. That doesn't bother me.
It's the whole women my age. You're forty one, like,
cut it out.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Yeah, she's twenty two, he said, I'm forty one, she's
twenty two. I could have married a forty four year
old woman and it could have been disasters. And he said,
women that are my age have a different outlook on life.
Like a lot of women my age are very independent.
I don't need a man to do this for me
because I could do it for myself.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
He said.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
I come from a generation I love to provide for
my wife. Okay, all right, well that is your yet.
And when we come back, let's talk about lip service
speaking of younger people, because Elie Chappa has a big
crush on Megan Good But he was on lip service
that's out today and we got some of that for you.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
It's a way Up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 7 (38:33):
Yeah you back at it, bringing the We Up with
Angela Yee is on.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Yes, it is way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot
Com is here.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Yes, I'm here again, Angela, Hey, Hey, girl, Girl and.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Lip Service comes out every Tuesday, and listen. Sometimes we
play some of it on the show. Sometimes we just cannot.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
It's a lot, it's a it's a lot sometimes.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
But people get very sensitive about anything that has to do.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Yes with such And I don't know why, because most
of us are doing it.
Speaker 4 (39:05):
That's how we got here. Some of us, yeah, some
of us not.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
But Annalie Chappa is on today and that episode is
going to drop today at two o'clock Eastern, and so
we had a lot of conversations, some of it which
we're not going to play here, but some things we can.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
You know.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
He was going really hard to try to holler at
Megan Good, very hard, I mean, and he still is.
Megan Good said he's just too young for her. But
here's what he had to say. Can you see yourself
in a relationship again anytime soon?
Speaker 5 (39:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (39:36):
But what about Megan Good? What if she wanted to
be would you? Would you change your rule for making good?
Two seconds later, have you been able to take on
her date yet?
Speaker 13 (39:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (39:50):
I'm sorry you look so sad.
Speaker 20 (39:54):
I'm trying to sound flowers just all I really want
to do here that she got him.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
I don't want none else.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
Okay, his whole tone change.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
He just sounds sweet. And he's only twenty years old.
Let's be clear.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
She is forty one.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
Yeah, so it could be like a reverse Marcus Houston.
Would you what?
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Oh my gosh, would you?
Speaker 4 (40:17):
What's the No, I'm not, I'm not dated twenty year old.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
You won't even let me asking Angela. You would not
even let me ask for money? No, I wouldn't either,
But I'm.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
Yeah, come on, that's ridiculous. Okay, all right, I'm but
not saying that Meghan shouldn't date Analie Chappa. I don't
want to throw no song.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
In the game. You already did, alright, block her?
Speaker 5 (40:33):
All right.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Another thing that happened is, you know, can I say
the name of the song, and I don't want anybody
getting mad?
Speaker 4 (40:38):
All right?
Speaker 2 (40:38):
The song is called Slept Me Out and I call
there's a video for this and Suki Hannah is in it,
and you know, she has Suki Hannah and Sexy Red
and they're on all fours like dogs in it, and
a Chappa is leading them by their hair like the
hair is a leash kind of and it caused a
lot of controversy.
Speaker 4 (40:58):
And here is what Ani had to say about that.
Speaker 20 (41:01):
Like similar to like what just happened with s let
me out Shoot, you know, with all of that stuff,
I think it kind of got took out of like
proportion of like we just wanted to have like fun
during the video and things of that nature, and it
got took out of context of like who I'm who
I really am, Like I'm young, I'm gonna have plenty
of mistakes moving forward. And one thing about it, I
(41:23):
don't want to beat myself up about it, but I
genuinely like care about people. So like when somebody say
somebody me, or if they judge me and have this
picture painted to me a certain way, I take it
to the chain.
Speaker 5 (41:34):
But I take full accountability though for any action of all.
Speaker 4 (41:38):
Right, So that's what I'm saying that.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
You know, he gets very sensitive about it, but he
also can take accountability.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
Yes, he said, you know, he's young. He's gonna make
mistakes in the future, but like you said, he is
being accountable or taking accountability for it, right.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
And he's got some hit songs out right now too,
by the way, this song with Little Wayne, which he
talks about to working with Little Wayne, I love that
song mm hmm, and other topics that we can't air here.
And we thought about it but then decided against it
because we don't want any complaints. Yes, losing his virginity
at an extremely young age, being in a threesome with
the woman he wasn't attracted to, being nasty in the bedroom. Interesting,
(42:13):
what he has to say about his nipples. That's all
I have to say.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
I can say that, right, Okay, I'm really really careful. Yes,
as you should, and so people can check out everything
he said.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
Yes on lib service that's out today at two o'clock. Now,
is that okay?
Speaker 5 (42:31):
All right?
Speaker 2 (42:31):
We got to switch over to some other things because
every week it's always jam packed for me.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
You know.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
I was in Vegas over the weekend at the National
Association of Broadcasters. I actually did a sit down, live
interview with Bob Pittman for his Mathematic podcast that comes
out in a couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
Can you just say who Bob Pittman is?
Speaker 4 (42:48):
Bob Pittman is our CEO here at Ihearts.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
That's big. That's big, Angela, Yeah, it's a big deal.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
It was a great interview.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
And this week one of the things we talked about
was philanthropy, right, and why it's important for me to
always give back. And I'm on the board for the
American Foundation for the University of the West Indies, and
we're going to talk about that because I want to
let you guys know about the gala that's coming up
and who's being honored, which is really exciting. And then
I'm getting onored tomorrow, okay, and we'll talk about that
(43:16):
as well.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
And so this is all about community.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
But I want to make sure and I always say this, right,
you know, it is a very popular saying.
Speaker 4 (43:22):
To who much is.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Given given, much is expected, And yeah it's true. No, no, no,
I'm not saying it's true. I was wondering if it
went like that.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
But go ahead, okay, Well, look, much is expected. You've
got to do some things.
Speaker 3 (43:37):
No, one hundred percent agree with you, all right, So.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
We'll talk about that, about union settlement and about the
American Foundation for the University of the West Indies.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
When we come back. It's way up at the Angela Yee.
Speaker 8 (43:50):
You ride the way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 4 (43:53):
Yes, what's up? Its way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot
Com is here.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
Yes, I'm here Yes.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
And one of the things I wanted to talk about is,
you know, we were trying to figure out this phrase
soon how much is given?
Speaker 4 (44:05):
Much is us had expected? Required?
Speaker 3 (44:09):
Right requires?
Speaker 4 (44:10):
What it says in the Bible? Amen, Amen, won't you
do it?
Speaker 3 (44:14):
Won't you do it?
Speaker 2 (44:15):
And one thing I was going to talk about is
the American Foundation for the University of the West Indies.
They're having their twenty six annual Awards gala and that's
going to be happening on Thursday. So if anybody went
to the University of the West Indies, that's always exciting.
But what I love about it is that it's an
organization that's been around for quite some time, okay, and
they really give scholarships two students who go to the
(44:37):
University of the West Indies. And I always say this,
a lot of people go on vacation to the Caribbean,
but you got to make sure that you give back
for some of these really really bright students. Sometimes the
only thing that separates them from what they could obtain
is just having access right and having finances, and so
you get to actually meet some of the students who
have gotten these awards and hear their stories. Remember hearing
(45:00):
one student talking about natural disaster that happened and the
home was destroyed and the family couldn't send.
Speaker 4 (45:06):
Them to the university.
Speaker 2 (45:08):
But then the AFUI American Foundation came through with the
scholarship for them, and one of the students who I
gave a scholarship too, is actually going to be there too,
So that's really exciting for me to you get to
meet the students and you can even choose which island
you want to give, you know, a student from that island.
Speaker 4 (45:25):
My mom is from Montsterret. So I try to make sure.
Speaker 3 (45:28):
I feel like I went to I went with you
to This was the last yeah year, the year before,
it was before that, before COVID. Okay, yes, yes, but it's.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
An amazing, amazing organization, so I do want to shout
out to them. And they're actually honoring some people who
I know this year, dompuh and Dam who is the
founder of Brooklyn chop House Brooklyn Dumpling House.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
He's also.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
You know, somebody who I actually went to when I
was first starting my first brick and mortar business because
he owns I hops and things like that, so I
just want to shout.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
Out to him.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
He's a heavy hitter for sure, Yes he is, and
so I really wanted him to be honored to so
I'm glad he is.
Speaker 4 (46:05):
He's on Barbados.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
I did not know don pul was from Barbados.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
And signed to Richards And she is the head of
Global Sports and Entertainment and Segment Sales and Engagement from
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. And I've actually met her before,
so I'm glad that she's being honored as well. Missus
Beverly Hunter is also being honored. She's the senior administrative
Officer for the University of the West Indies. So I
want to shout out to all of them, Hazel Carter,
(46:33):
the honorable Mark Brantley, and who's the premier of Nevis Okay,
and so shout.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
Out to every baby on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
On Thursday, yes, and then and then I also am
I'm being honored tomorrow for a union settlement.
Speaker 4 (46:48):
So I just want to shout out to them.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
They had programs that they help in East Harlem people
live better lives, achieved their dreams.
Speaker 4 (46:55):
Actually went to visit them last week.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
At their location, got to meet some of the seniors
who they served nervis, some of the people in the
community with just real tangible things. Okay, and you're being
on of their Angela and it's called but what is
it called Union Settlement?
Speaker 3 (47:08):
Union Settlement?
Speaker 5 (47:09):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (47:09):
You can go to Union Settlement dot org. Okay to
learn more. But when we come back, Friday is going
to be joining us. His EP is out right now.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
They also have the deluxe version that's available.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
He's from Philly, you know him from God Did and Lust.
Speaker 4 (47:24):
And Melody is out now.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
He's an amazing artist and I cannot wait to hear
what he's got to say.
Speaker 4 (47:27):
It's a way up at Angela.
Speaker 8 (47:28):
Yee, Angela Yee is way up.
Speaker 2 (47:32):
One of the most amazing things you've already made happen.
And this is a real tears jerking moment. But buying
your mama house a fact. Yes, how did you break
the news to her? Was it something that you guys
worked on together? Was she part of the process or
were you like, bang today, this is what we're doing now.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
I've been telling her like months before, like I'm about
to buy you a house, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (47:52):
Even the house. I bought her.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
I showed her like this might be the one, but
I never like let her shoot it in person. So
she was like excited, like for like two months. Just
let me see the crib, you know what I mean,
Like I let everybody else come the crib, like, you know,
my unc came to see it, my uncles, my cousins.
She was the only one that ever saw it until
I bought it.
Speaker 4 (48:10):
And you bought her house before you bought your house.
Speaker 5 (48:12):
Nah, for sure, I had to.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
Are your mama's boy.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
Yeah, clearly I'm the last son too. It's a little
different with.
Speaker 5 (48:19):
Me and my mom.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
My favorite track is empty Stomach And you're really emotional
and you you're Are you a crier? You think you're
a crier?
Speaker 5 (48:27):
Yeah, not.
Speaker 1 (48:29):
Like when I'm sad outcry, more like on some happy tip,
like if something happened, like I cry a lot. Making music,
I'll say that that's where I like express myself.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Is that help you produce better music? Does that? Is
that someplace you have to go to in order to
create some of your hits?
Speaker 1 (48:45):
Yeah, I just I just feel like music might escape.
So that's where I'm gonna show myself the most. You
know what I mean. I don't really talk to people
that much or express myself in that way. So I
feel like when it's time to create, it just come
out naratriples.
Speaker 3 (48:58):
And you'd be like, is it ugly cry or is
it just like a slack the ugly?
Speaker 5 (49:03):
Especially I'm recording by myself, so I just let it
all out.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
And I think it's inspirational for people too, because there
are people right now in that situation and others don't know.
Like just because you might have had a song that
you know, got placed man or something, but that doesn't
mean you're rich or that you have money.
Speaker 5 (49:22):
That's the whole reasoning of this song.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
Like I remember me and my brothers went to La
probably like three thousand, four thousand dollars all together. We
were like, let's just pay like two months rent going
out there, and everybody in Philly like, damn you went
to La not knowing like if you don't go to
LA with a plane, you're gonna be out there like
it's just like and it's worse out there too, because
(49:44):
everything right in front of you. It's not like Philly
like you could be damn bad and Philly like I
don't care everybody.
Speaker 5 (49:50):
We all know you're regular.
Speaker 4 (49:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
So it's like when you're in the laying you down
bad and you just see the KEPU Records building and
you're like, damn, I just want to get in this bro.
Security not letting this in.
Speaker 3 (50:02):
So you want to You went up the capital try
to get it.
Speaker 16 (50:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (50:05):
Like every week, my brother, we.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
Y'all would just go up and be like, hey, I'll
be We would be.
Speaker 1 (50:09):
On some tip like I'm a producer, I got session here.
Security on some tip like with who though.
Speaker 5 (50:14):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
I'd be like they looked up and they like, your
name not even on this list. At one point they
be and my brother from the building and they're like, bro,
MA told me like if you step fifteen feet in
this building.
Speaker 4 (50:25):
Calling the law, you should go see that security again.
Speaker 5 (50:28):
No, no, he'll be shot.
Speaker 4 (50:30):
Like I just want to say, but he was doing
his job.
Speaker 5 (50:33):
You were doing this job done.
Speaker 1 (50:34):
If you got in, I just would have went to
every room like yeah, walked around the bill and walked
in any room.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
Just play beat all right, Friday is here, Philly's own
and just to set the stage, Friday is on God
did That was his song originally that was an interlude.
Speaker 4 (50:49):
Yeah for sure, all right, so tell us that story.
Speaker 1 (50:52):
I remember I sent the hook to my A and
r Eddie, so KYLEI hit his back and I was like, hey,
this is a movie, like I need this for the album.
Speaker 5 (50:59):
Three four days went by. He just hit us like
I put four rappers on.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
Him, like three three rappers and the singer any rappers.
First we already started the paperwork like it was supposed
to be called God did Friday interlow?
Speaker 5 (51:13):
Three days go by? He like, I put three rappers.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
I'm thinking Nas, Kanye and jay Z just off the
hook that I created. So I remember it was just
like little rumors going around the industry. We never really
got the confirmation who was on there until it really
came out. Oh you know what I mean, I ain't
never I didn't even hear the record till.
Speaker 5 (51:30):
It came out.
Speaker 3 (51:31):
Where were you when you hold the record?
Speaker 5 (51:33):
At my mom house?
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Was all right next to each other because it was
like on some tip, like especially when we heard John
Legend was on the song.
Speaker 5 (51:43):
I was on some tip like I might not even
be singing lead anymore. You gotta think at the day
that happens all the time, and it's normal. I ain't say,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (51:53):
At that point, I got five six thousand followers, I
ain't nobody, so you know what I mean, I already
put in my head.
Speaker 5 (52:00):
He got it.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
I'm just probably singing a choir part on the hook,
but he doing the lead. Twelve am. It's just me
and my family in the crib. Were waiting for Calege.
You know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (52:09):
He doing a little talk. You know what I mean.
My voice came in. We just started going crazy, run
the house.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
Oh that's amazing.
Speaker 2 (52:18):
And you know what's interesting because you have been doing
music already for like almost ten years, but people think
that's the first look and sometimes they don't understand the
grind that happens beforehand.
Speaker 5 (52:29):
For sure.
Speaker 2 (52:30):
So can you talk about the time period of like
when you first got started, because I think for a
lot of people out there, like I said, they just think, oh,
he just you know, the first time ends up on
this big song.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
But it's a lot more than.
Speaker 1 (52:42):
That, Noah, for sure, Just like you said, ten years,
like I got introduced to this like eighth ninth grade
from my cousin Marco. He a producer. Since then, he
gave me a laptop, I was producing like every day.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
But even before that, you like, even before that.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
I played my whole life, sung my whole life in
church since I was like probably like eight eight years old,
like leading choirs, you know what I mean. But at
the age fourteen fifteen, when I started like producing and
writing every day, I'll be up at night making so
I have to go right to school, to the point
where my mom snapped on me, like, you know what
I mean. So it's just ten years in Like people
(53:17):
think it's this happened overnight, but it's like they don't see,
like all the work you really put in to get here.
Speaker 2 (53:23):
And your dad was a pastor, Yeah, so how does
he feel about all your preacher's kid?
Speaker 5 (53:27):
Yeah, for sure, you feel good about it, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 1 (53:30):
It's a little different because I got Haitian parents, but
they already.
Speaker 5 (53:34):
Knew he talented. But the way Haitians looked at it,
if it ain't.
Speaker 1 (53:39):
School or go to college, you ain't really you ain't,
you know what I mean, It happens they just looking
at it as like, all right, this is a little
fun to hobby. You talented, but if you want to
go to college or school, you gotta get out the crib.
So when I first got like my first check in
twenty twenty, that changed everything.
Speaker 5 (53:58):
It wasn't really rocking with it.
Speaker 1 (53:59):
You gotta think, like, Rent, dude, your son making beats
in the house, did you have you know.
Speaker 5 (54:04):
What I mean?
Speaker 4 (54:04):
Did you have a job also or not?
Speaker 1 (54:06):
I was on and off with the job. So it
was like, you know how moms is like she nice
the whole month.
Speaker 5 (54:12):
Was the first hit, first hit?
Speaker 1 (54:14):
Already know I'm making like I don't see her and
she's about to snap one.
Speaker 5 (54:20):
Rent, dude, Like, I don't got no bread. I'm just
making beats in the house.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
What kind of jobs did you have?
Speaker 5 (54:25):
I worked at Dominoes?
Speaker 1 (54:26):
Okay heavy, that was a good joint for me, like
because I was it's just different.
Speaker 4 (54:34):
But you're delivering the pizza.
Speaker 5 (54:35):
Delivering cause I was just listening to music.
Speaker 2 (54:37):
Did anybody ever not pay, like steal pizza from you
or anything?
Speaker 1 (54:40):
No, I'll be the game though, don't do Dominoes in
the hood. Remember my cousin Leo, he was like, bro,
I just got Dominoes. I'm like, I'm not doing Dominoes.
Gonna rob me, you know what I mean? So he
was like, no, it's a joint, like twenty minutes south
the city. It's like a suburbs just.
Speaker 5 (54:57):
Where I go, you know what I mean, where the
white people at. He's like, bro, they give me, hey,
give me hey.
Speaker 1 (55:02):
Give me ten dollar tips, twenty dollars tips. She like,
it's just one old ass. Will you give me like fifty?
Are you teller?
Speaker 5 (55:09):
End of this period?
Speaker 1 (55:10):
That's how they rock. It's just different. I'm like, we're
over there. I was getting like some nice little bread
at Domino's.
Speaker 4 (55:15):
All right, well, Friday is here.
Speaker 2 (55:17):
We have more with him when we come back about
his new EP and how he got to the point
where he's at lost in melody. That EP Deluxe is
out now it's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 8 (55:30):
Yeah, she back at it, bring it. Bringing the way
up with Angela ye is on.
Speaker 4 (55:35):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot Com is here and
Philly's own Friday is here.
Speaker 5 (55:41):
Now.
Speaker 4 (55:42):
How did your mom feel about the song Know the Truth?
When she heard that.
Speaker 5 (55:45):
Yeah, that's funny. She liked that song. But she like,
especially that you like a freak creek part. She like,
what that means she knows what you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (55:54):
But she's like, what that mean? What you say I'll
be saying that it'd be weird. I try to ignore it,
like it's certain stuff I post. I try to block
my mom.
Speaker 5 (56:04):
On from that joint.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
You know what I mean from my stories?
Speaker 4 (56:07):
Oh yeah, yeah, it might be my story.
Speaker 3 (56:09):
Being everybody story. She don't even know she blocked from
my story for sure.
Speaker 1 (56:12):
She'd be knowing when I block it too. She's like,
why I'm not seeing on your page. I'm like, I
just posted to know the truth, so I don't want
you to see that right now.
Speaker 2 (56:21):
And you performed that the Grammys. I mean that's a huge,
huge look. So let us know what that whole experience
was like, even the rehearsals angle.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
I was nervous that whole week out my ass Like
I'm thinking, like, bro, like I could mess up a
jay Z performance.
Speaker 5 (56:40):
That's in my head the whole week.
Speaker 1 (56:43):
I'm not telling nobody this, but that's in my head, bro,
I could really mess up with performance.
Speaker 3 (56:48):
What was the moment like when you were actually on
stage performance?
Speaker 1 (56:51):
It was just free, like I remember, like before the performance.
If you see on like on my TikTok or Cali
page Cali walked in my trailer, you know what I mean,
and he played the instrumental. He brought all his people,
he played the instrumental in my ear mind you I'm
in the trailer just singing it over and over.
Speaker 5 (57:08):
Make it right, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (57:10):
Come to my trailer, played the instrumental, told me to
sing it, you know what I mean. Right before the performance,
and I just busted out. It was just crazy. Everybody
like are you ready? So that's just the energy. I
came in on the performance like I just came in like, yeah,
I seen jay Z, Like where are my mic at?
I was ready, like you know, I walked like where
my mic at?
Speaker 5 (57:30):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (57:31):
Jay Z.
Speaker 1 (57:33):
Was like this is not worried about you? Like this
is not thinking? Is he nervous? Like you gotta do
your job, you know what I mean. If you don't
do your job, they gonna call you out on it.
It was just professional. Everybody came to do what they.
Speaker 5 (57:46):
Needed to do.
Speaker 4 (57:47):
Friday is here, Pillyson.
Speaker 3 (57:49):
What is it like working and meeting jay Z? Because
I would feel like it's.
Speaker 5 (57:54):
Like now what you think?
Speaker 13 (57:56):
Jay Z?
Speaker 5 (57:56):
Cooler and a lot of little You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (57:59):
You know how I look to be in a game
like on some cocky jay Z really like a cool
when I'm next to him, I don't.
Speaker 5 (58:05):
Feel like he a celebrity.
Speaker 1 (58:06):
He was a regular person, regular person saying regular jukes.
Speaker 5 (58:10):
I remember, like do it? You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (58:11):
I remember, like doing the performance, were taking a picture.
He like, you know, I fuck for you?
Speaker 5 (58:15):
Right? Like what you mean? He like, they was trying
to take you up the record, But Kyle had been
told me jay Z fought for you. Oh that's you
know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (58:23):
But hearing it from him, you like, bro, when I
heard your voice is just showing it hungry.
Speaker 5 (58:28):
And then you're gonna.
Speaker 1 (58:29):
Tell me like, well you make it, don't forget about
Ain't about to forget about you.
Speaker 3 (58:35):
It's impossible.
Speaker 4 (58:36):
That's really amazing.
Speaker 2 (58:36):
And to hear it straight from him, And then what
about little baby? Now, explain how that song that you
did forever, how that came about? Because original he actually
got that song from Ory Roy.
Speaker 5 (58:47):
That was me and Roory song and Roy posted it
on Instagram.
Speaker 1 (58:50):
It just start going crazy, like you know what I mean,
everybody posted on YouTube, SoundCloud. I don't know how a
little baby heard it, but he heard it and he
just hit voy like, Bro, needed I'll call Void like
what you want to do?
Speaker 5 (59:02):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (59:03):
Vory Like, Bro, i think I'm fresh off God did
so Void like, Bro, it's your.
Speaker 5 (59:08):
Time, Bro.
Speaker 4 (59:09):
That's nice.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
Well, and then you did the deluxe version of the album, okay,
of the EP, so timing wise, because sometimes people sign
a deal and then it takes a long time for
them to you know, put out any music.
Speaker 4 (59:22):
So what's the experience been like for you?
Speaker 2 (59:24):
Have you been able to dictate like, Okay, here's the plan,
we're doing this, then we're gonna do the deluxe.
Speaker 5 (59:29):
Then it wasn't really no plan.
Speaker 1 (59:32):
It's like right after God did the whole world watching me,
so we just had to give him, you know what
I mean, give them the EP right after the Grammys performance,
like everybody watching me again, That's when we gave them deluxe.
So it was just like trying to like capitalize off
the moments. But I feel like this time around, we
really got time to It's gonna be a different time
where we set everything up the way we need to.
Speaker 5 (59:53):
It's good, yeah for sure.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
Well, Friday, thank you so much for coming through and
we're so happy that you came here. We are on
in Philly, which is an honor for us, and so
congratulations on everything.
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
I appreciate you and we'll see you again. Listen. Just
like jay Z said, don't forget about us.
Speaker 5 (01:00:08):
No, I won't, I won't.
Speaker 1 (01:00:08):
You legendary. It's one of my like you know what
I mean. I used to watch you since I was
the youngest, so this one of my dreams.
Speaker 4 (01:00:15):
All right, well, thank you so much Friday for joining us.
That was great.
Speaker 2 (01:00:18):

you should know.
Speaker 8 (01:00:40):
This is aske yes.
Speaker 4 (01:00:42):
It's the way you put Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot
Com is here and we are ready for ask E
eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty is a number.
Speaker 4 (01:00:51):
Hello, who's this?
Speaker 10 (01:00:53):
This is Hall, I'm rock star?
Speaker 21 (01:00:54):
What you Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:00:55):
What's up girl? Good to hear from you again.
Speaker 11 (01:00:58):
It's good to hear from you as well. And congratulations.
Thank you me so in your segment, it's.
Speaker 10 (01:01:04):
Fire, It's fire. So I have a question, right, Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
Ask you.
Speaker 4 (01:01:08):
Let's say your question.
Speaker 11 (01:01:10):
All right, I'm a gay woman and at times, right
it's pretty evident, you know, it's all over my gram.
And at times I have a hard time approaching women
because you know, you can't just look at a person
and figure out whether they're gay or straight. And it's
not that I don't have the confidence, I think maybe
(01:01:31):
it's more so I'm scared of the rejection, Like I
don't want a woman to feel like I'm being too
aggressive or that I'm just automatically assuming that she's going
to be gay. So my question to you is, what's
like a polite way to approach a woman.
Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
I think that I'm approaching somebody like who you don't know?
Periods should always be the same because you don't know
if you're even gonna like them yourself until you even
say or a conversation. So I think just being you know, polite,
having something personable to say to them, and then taking
it from there is always a good approach because it's
not like, no matter if.
Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
You're gay or straight, you're not gonna just approach somebody
and be like, I like you, what's good?
Speaker 5 (01:02:13):
You know?
Speaker 4 (01:02:13):
You like right, You're gonna have a regular conversation.
Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
And I think that you know, they'll feel the vibe
of you liking them or not or whatever, and then,
you know, I feel like that is something that will
come up like pretty naturally. If somebody's not interested, you'll
get that vibe too.
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:02:31):
Yeah, because sometimes like I could be walking in like
the street, and I'll see a woman looking at me
and it's like I want to approach her and say something,
but then I'm like, you know, I don't know, maybe
she's just like my.
Speaker 4 (01:02:44):
Outfit or something like yeah, just say something I.
Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
Don't want, or cute or compliment them on something you
know that they have on, or just say, you know,
whatever it is that you can find at that moment
that's funny, that's cute, and you see somebody looking at you,
just do that.
Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
What do you think, Jasmine, what type of women do
you like, that's like some women are kind of easier
to identify that are gay. What kind of women do
you like?
Speaker 11 (01:03:03):
Yeah? I like well, of course, beautiful women, smart women, independent.
I like feminine women because I'm a I'm like what
they call like an age, you know, just all over
my grands, you know, and I was thinking that look
pretty good through But I'm attracted to feminine women, like
women that were like makeup and like huge and things
(01:03:26):
like that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
I don't and you can't tell if somebody likes you too,
you know, So I just feel like, yeah, people as
human beings, whether or not you're even gonna like them,
it's not a question at first, you know, if you
had something cute funny to say, do that and then
see how they respond, and if there's a there's a
little vibe going, then you follow up, yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:03:47):
Thank you.
Speaker 11 (01:03:48):
And That's what I'm gonna do because I feel like
there's this stigma that just because someone is gay, that
we like yeah, which is not the case, because I
don't like every woman, this one, you know, with some
crazy ones that's out there.
Speaker 3 (01:04:02):
Oh you don't like crazy?
Speaker 11 (01:04:04):
I don't not anymore. I'm I'm growing past that.
Speaker 15 (01:04:08):
I'm healing from that.
Speaker 11 (01:04:10):
So you know, I guess I'm going to take your advice,
and you know, hopefully I'll find you a nice young
woman and we you know, I.
Speaker 4 (01:04:21):
Look forward to the updates. Harlem rock Star.
Speaker 11 (01:04:23):
Good luck, Yes, Harlem rock Star, y'all that's my that's
my id.
Speaker 15 (01:04:27):
I to say that.
Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
Yes, that's so hard that the end a.
Speaker 11 (01:04:30):
Rock star, right, I am a Harlem rock star. Yes, yes, yes,
all right, thank you, thank.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
You, Jasmine, good luck.
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
All right, Well that was ask you again if you
need to have if you have a question that you
want to ask us, eight hundred nine fifty one fifty
is the number. When we come back. We have your
last word. You can ask ask on there. You can
talk about whatever happened on the show.
Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
Weigh in. You can tell us a secret. It's way
up with Angela ye.
Speaker 8 (01:04:54):
Pick up the phone to get your voice heard. What
the word is? Here's the last word on Way Up
with Angela.
Speaker 5 (01:05:02):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
Yes, it is way up with Angela Ye. I'm Angela
yee and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot Com is here.
Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
The voice is scaring the Angela.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
I'm going to take a vacation so bad. Let's go.
But I'm broke.
Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
You're not broke.
Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
I am for now. Okay, I'm broke. I'm cash poor.
Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
There we go, I'm cash broke, cash poor, cash broke.
Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
All right, well, I want to thank Friday for coming
through today. Okay, straight out of Philly. We'll be in
Philly soon for the Roots picnic.
Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
Oh yeah, that's gonna be so fun.
Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
By the way, right, rooms Oh, rooms booked, Yeah, they are,
they are booked in. Rooms booked to my room.
Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
I'm also I want to thank everybody who called in today.
Speaker 4 (01:05:41):
We started a new segment.
Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
I know we tested it out previously, but now it's
a staple on the show. Okay, and it's called it's
called Gurus on the Gram. Now, when Chris Witherspoon was here,
he was the one that actually helped come up with
the title for that.
Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
Shout out to Chris. Yeah, what was it called?
Speaker 2 (01:05:56):
He called it, and then I think you called the
Instagram Gurus and then we changed it to Gurus of
the Grand Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:06:01):
So today we.
Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
Were talking about whether or not you would I guess,
cater to your significant other if they didn't want.
Speaker 4 (01:06:09):
You to like communicate, follow whatever deal not.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Deal with, but just kind of social media, yes, social
media stuff, but also even like talk to your ex
if they were like, hey, I don't want you doing
it anymore.
Speaker 4 (01:06:23):
Stop with the communications.
Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
Because one particular guru Zion his name said that whatever
your significant other wants, you should just do it. And
I think some things might be worth a conversation, might
be worth a conversation, you know, if something really by this,
because I do believe it's something by this someone, you
don't just say go to hell. Sometimes you listen and
you compromise or you do what they say, and sometimes
(01:06:45):
they could be wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:06:47):
It could be insecurity. So a lot of people called
in for that.
Speaker 3 (01:06:50):
Some strong opinions about this one.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
Yes, and we are going to do last where because
in case you couldn't get through today you had to
ask you question you wanted to comment on Gurus of
the gram, we would love to from you.
Speaker 4 (01:07:00):
In case you want to tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (01:07:01):
That's tomorrow, then you want to weigh in on yesterday's
tell Us a secret eight Nunte two, nineteen fifty one
fifty is the way I put angela.
Speaker 21 (01:07:08):
Ye yo, I like to shine a light on me.
Name's Jeremiah Frekings Cleven Ohio. I'm just blessed, highly favored, reconnected,
my relationship with God, my family's good, my business good, even.
Speaker 12 (01:07:21):
My restaurant is good.
Speaker 5 (01:07:22):
So I cannot complain.
Speaker 17 (01:07:24):
So I just wanted to.
Speaker 12 (01:07:24):
Shout out me.
Speaker 21 (01:07:25):
I wanted to pat myself on the God damn back.
I appreciate your time, y'all. Keep going, Hey, it's a
tour calling from the wallings. I want to shine the
light on my wife.
Speaker 13 (01:07:35):
Man, my wife has been holding us down since he's
been impacted by Hurricane almost a year and a half ago.
She has been doing so much, and I just want
to shine a light on my wife for always having
my bag and holding us down.
Speaker 10 (01:07:47):
And I love you.
Speaker 6 (01:07:49):
I just want to say my opinion on the social
media situation. When it comes to significant others trying to
control you and show you what you can't do a
person's picture, I think that is just beyond stupidity, and
I believe that that shouldn't be the focus. That is
just straight jealousy. And obviously you have some type of
(01:08:12):
insecurities with yourself and if you can't trust that person,
then you shouldn't be with that person.
Speaker 9 (01:08:18):
So as part as the topic, I was just saying
that it's definitely circumstantial.
Speaker 22 (01:08:22):
Sometimes it is your partners and securities being put on
to you.
Speaker 9 (01:08:27):
But you know your partner, you know your situation, and
one person you can't like you is yourself. So if
you know that you're keeping this person.
Speaker 22 (01:08:33):
Around or still entertaining because there's something there within you,
then you need to check yourself or you're gonna mess
up your relationship. Like I said, I was in a
relationship where my partner didn't want me to have contact
with my daughter's father unless it was about my child.
But we didn't work in a relationship.
Speaker 9 (01:08:51):
However, we are great at full parencing and we're friends
and we're good in that area and that space, and
we're gonna keep that face no matter who I'm with
out with this person, I have to bekay with him.
So I feel like that was definitely in security.
Speaker 22 (01:09:04):
But if it's somebody I was keeping around just entertained,
and that's one I.
Speaker 15 (01:09:07):
Gotta check myself.
Speaker 8 (01:09:09):
Angela Yee, is we up?
Speaker 5 (01:09:12):
Way up?
