such an important organization and I know that it's not
like a monetary thing for them. It should be, though,
because I feel like people who do work like that
should be compensated really well, absolutely for the work that
they do. But shout out to everybody who attended, but
in particular to my girl a Marie, to my girl Marcia,
who put together an amazing event. You guys should check
it out at a fooy dot or org afuwi dot org.

Speaker 1 (04:28):

Speaker 9 (04:31):
Oh my goodness, I got to shine a light on
my beautiful husband.

Speaker 8 (04:34):
Man.

Speaker 9 (04:34):
Let me just start by saying, yesterday celebrating his nine years.

Speaker 10 (04:37):
Out of prison.

Speaker 9 (04:38):
Oh right, said prison. We're originally from Texico. Right now,
we live about twenty miles west of Atlanta. So since
getting out of prison. When I first met him, he
had custody of his three of his four children, and says,
then we've transitioned onto Georgia. Like I said, when he's
starting his own company. He's an owner and operator of
his own trucking company. His resilience, his friends, his you know,

(04:59):
just his will, his motivation to get up every day
and make it, have it for our family. I just
have a shan a light on him and just tell
him thank you for everything that he does.

needing some mental health help.

It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 12 (06:13):

Speaker 13 (06:31):
No?

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Oh, actually you already do? Yes you can? Angela Thank
you all right.

Speaker 14 (06:35):
Well.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Designer said he's looking for some mental health treatment. He
allegedly exposed himself during a flight. He went on Instagram yesterday.
He said he's been struggling for months and he was
ashamed of his actions. According to TMZ, they said the
incident happened over the weekend. He was performing in Thailand
and Tokyo, and at some point during the trip, he
was prescribed medication at a hospital. They believe that the

(06:58):
pills caused him to have a chemical in balance, which
may explain his behavior during the flight. They said that
he exposed himself on the aircraft. He was reprimanded by
a flight attendant. Once the flight landed in Minneapolis, he
was stopped and questioned by law enforcement. We don't know
if there's any criminal charges, but he was reportedly released
shortly after, and he said in his Instagram stories, for
the past few months, I have not been okay and

(07:20):
I have been struggling to come to terms with what
is going on. While overseas for a content I performed
that I had to be admitted into a hospital. I
was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds and I
had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed
of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed
back to the States and am admitting myself in a
facility to help me. I will be canceling all of
my shows and any obligations until further notice.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Mental health is real, guys, please pray for me.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
I associate that when we actually were raising money when
I was on the Breakfast Club, he donated and it
was all for mental health initiatives, and he talked about
the struggles that he was having. So shout out to
Designer and we are in your corner and glad that
you're seeking the help that that you need. Absolutely, Okay,
All right, now, let's talk about Lotto versus Coiler Ray.

(08:09):
This feels like a misunderstanding for sure, right now Lotto
name dropped her in a song her new single, put
it on the floor and We're gonna have that for
you during new music.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Here is what Lotto had to say about Coiler Ray.

Speaker 12 (08:21):
I don't done it out, feel like shoty low left
it to the pain. But she's not a joke. Say
she got a problem imaginary smoke. She said it so
then put it on the floor.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
I don't know what.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
That y'all man's know if you don't what he.

Speaker 12 (08:41):
Smoking on a gas blood biggest color Ray did. She's flight.
They run' ain't out, but I'm the tight. We're gonna
pay when y'all Diamon's hit, Like geez, you don't never
see the shape?

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Okay, all right, First of all, I like that, But
Coiler Ray felt like she was being body shamed. She
posted on on social media, let's fight, Lotto buy you
go talking about my body? Please do not come on
here and talk about nobody body lo o, like seriously,
out of all things, lmao, yeah, blunt my size. This
issue is never ending. These bees want to be like
the N words so bad. Y'all want to have raft

(09:12):
feet so bad. And then she said, if you don't
like me, support me or f with me. Don't mention
my name period. It's don't make sense. I don't know
none of you bees in real life. Stain y'all, lane
and leave me out of the bs. I'd be minding
my business and showing real love offline.

Speaker 14 (09:26):
Now.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
I didn't take that line smoke talk about smoking on
that gas blunt, biggest, coiler Ray, that's the line.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
I think that she meant big, like you know, like
Lot'll be like the biggest.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Well, well, two things. Number one, maybe Coiler Ray is
super sensitive about her way for sure, that could be
thinking or And also another thing is we don't know
what's going on behind the scenes, so maybe for us
it's not offensive, but maybe behind the scenes there's something
else going on which may have caused her to react
to this. It didn't seem like it was a big deal,
but you know.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah, I mean, I'm just saying how I took it.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
I didn't take you and I you and I talked
about it this morning. I was like, I don't know
if that was an int, So.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
I'm not sure the intention behind it. But Lotto hasn't
responded yet, and Lotto always responds. Maybe a lot of
hopped on the phone with and yeah, and I hope
they did because this feels like something that could easily
be straightened out. Bro were talking about the song now,
so yeah, okay, and we'll be talking about it some more.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
All right, Well, lil Uzzi Vert has posted his new
alter ego, Leslie Leslie Chow and he said, Chow understand
people don't always like the ways of Chow, but Chad
don't give a f chow rich and never look back.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
And he said, can I say suck my monkey tale?

Speaker 3 (10:31):
I guess you just said it, Angela, all right, and.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Then he said, Leslie out.

Speaker 13 (10:34):
Now.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
I saw that JT was responding, because if somebody went
on social media and told JT you really taking city
girls down, JT responded, ugly baby and dead father, oh JT.
Then JT said that baby looks like Finesse two times,
please leave me alone. Well, well, Finess two Tames responded,

(10:55):
as we knew he would.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
And here's what he said, You're gonna do no pain
the same way.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
What did he say, Angela?

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Because I need an interpret her for that, he said,
I guess basically he's saying he don't care who you are.
He'll still okay, he's fire back, and he posted on
social media to just don't know. I'll throw you in
there and break you before you hit the ground. Guess
she mad because I said, I can't do nothing with
no skinny woman, young lady, young lady. All right, and

(11:29):
one of his women, because you know, for next two
times has several women said JT.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Who man, you call it ugly? Have you seen yours?

Speaker 14 (11:34):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Oh, don't be called my man ugly?

Speaker 2 (11:36):
All right, well that is and Jasmin would like that,
by the way, she likes ugly man. Yes, all right,
well that is your yee t. When we come back,
we have about last night and this is very really
very positive coming out of this. All right, we'll talk
about nonprofits. It's way up with Angela, yee ye night.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
So about last night last night, last night I went down.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yes, it's way up with Angela. Yee I'm Angela and
Jasmine from the Jasmine Brand is here.

Speaker 12 (12:02):
Happy Friday.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
It's a Friday, so exciting.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
And last night we actually were at a gala for
the American Foundation for the University of the West Indies,
which I am a board member. But I was hosting
the first half of the Galu. My girl Janelle Snowden
hosted the second half.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Yea, I both looked really beautiful too, by the way.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Yeah, she looks amazing and we host together a lot
last year. I think I didn't do it. She did
it alone. She's always working so hard, ok.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah, But I do want to shout out to everybody
who attended the event, to all of the people who
were honored last night too, amongst my good friend dom
pu Do Sontra Richards also she was also honored last night,
and also one of the students.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
So I love this. My mom comes every year, of
course she does, all right.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
My mom is from the West Indies, She's from Montserrat,
and every single year, this is the one thing that
she's always like, are we going?

Speaker 1 (12:54):
When is the event ready?

Speaker 7 (12:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:55):
She is read d okay. And so I didn't tell
her this because it was a prize. But one of
the students who I actually gave a scholarship to was
there last night, Stefan. Shout out to Stefan and so
he went to the University of the West Indies and
he's from Montserrat.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Which is a big deal because a lot of it's
not a lot of y'all.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
And Amory was so excited.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
She was like, Angela, we found a student, you know,
to get the scholarship from you, and he's from Monserrat.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
I know that means a lot to you.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Yeah, And so when he got up he actually they
flew they flew some of the students in and he
was one of the students that got flewed out. And
so he got up there and he was like, you know,
I'm from Montserrat.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
My mom said, oh, she was so excited. I looked
at your mom like, yes, I looked at your mom.
She was so excited.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
She had an, as they said, an audible gasp when
that happens. And so he went to school in Nevas
and also honored the Premier of Neivas yesterday.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Yes, so shout out to him.

Speaker 6 (13:50):
But I would like to say he was very thankful
for the scholarship. We talked about how you influenced him
and how much it meant to him. So I know
you don't like to talk like to talk about things
about but he was very kind and what you did
for him and how much how important it is for him.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Yeah, he came up to me beforehand, and the reason
I want to bring all this up is because the
first time I ever went to this event, I was
so impressed by the students because you actually get to
see where your money goes by the students that are
so grateful. There's a lot of natural disasters that happen
in the West Indies and so a lot of times
we go there, we go on vacation, we don't think
about the devastation that can happen if there's a hurricane

(14:27):
to people's homes and how that can affect your finances
and then being able.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
To go to school.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
So a lot of times families have to make a
decision do we pay to get our house done and
for you know, for a roof over our head, or
are we going to be able to pay for you
to go to school? And sometimes they can't and that
scholarship can really come through in a clutch.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Yep, for these students.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Those are real life problems that people experience, real.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Stories of students.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
And let's be clear, the University of the West Indies
is one of the top universities in the world, not
just in the world like globally. It is on those
lists where they talk about research academies. It's the only
Caribbean based university that makes the prestigious list every single year. Yes,
they have over eight hundred certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

(15:12):
And some of the brightest and most intelligence people that
I've ever met have gone to the University of the
West Indy. So I want to shout out to afuyafuwi
dot org. Y'all should donate like I did, and you
can even pick what students you know. All right, So
that is about last night. That's what we did last night.
And when we come back, we have tell us a secret.
Let's get ratchet. Eight on two nine two fifty one

(15:33):
fifty is the number.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Call us up.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
You get to remain anonymous, You get to tell us
a secret, and we're not gonna judge you.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
It's way up with Angela yu. This is a judgment
free zone. Tell us a secret. Yes, it's way up
with Angela yee. You know what you just heard.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
That was double fantasy the weekend right now, we got
to tell us a secret. I feel like double fantasy
plays well into that. And that is where you guys
get to call in an anonymously, tell us a secret.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
We are not gonna judge you. Okay.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Now, I can't say what's gonna happen once he's get

we are not judging you. Hello, anonymous caller tell us
a secret anthem.

he has the wife, he have kids, and me being
young and probably younger free, he loves it.

Speaker 1 (16:47):

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Okay, I'm just I'm just trying to help her.

Speaker 9 (16:58):

Were?

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Sorry?

Speaker 3 (17:29):
How long have they been married?

Speaker 8 (17:30):
About ten years? So I think he's time for him
to change it up. In spice to those with a
young cat like me.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Okay, what does he say when you have you told
them that you want him to tell his wife and
leave her.

Speaker 8 (17:40):
Yeah, he just say it's not the right time and
he not ready.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
But I mean, are you seeing anyone else?

Speaker 14 (17:48):
Are you?

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Are you faithful to this married man?

Speaker 8 (17:51):
I have a lot fun but that's the one I
really actually like the most.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Okay, he's at the top of the list. All right, Well,
no judgment, Thank you for sharing luck.

Speaker 8 (18:00):
Thank you by y'all.

He doesn't have a clue.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
M okay, interesting, and I actually hang out with him
more you said, Actually what I said?

Speaker 9 (18:29):
I actually hang out with him more than my brother does.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Oh interesting five years? Okay, Well why are you hiding it?

Speaker 14 (18:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (18:35):
What do you think your brother would say?

Speaker 15 (18:37):
And you'll probably have a problem with it. Actually, okay?

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Are you just having fun sneaking around?

Speaker 10 (18:43):
Yeah, that's something.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Okay, So that's a lot. That's five years of fun,
is yeah, it is.

Speaker 8 (18:50):
It's been a long time.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
But sounds like your man, your man? Your man?

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Is that your man?

Speaker 15 (18:55):
I mean no, not really, but is that.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
What you want?

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Now? Okay?

Speaker 1 (19:02):
All right, well enjoy yourself.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Okay, thank you for sharing.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Thank you, all right, thank you.

Speaker 9 (19:12):
Have a good name. Good morning.

Speaker 15 (19:13):
Bye?

Speaker 1 (19:14):
What's eponymous?

Speaker 13 (19:15):
Color?

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Tell us a secret?

Speaker 10 (19:17):
Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (19:18):
What's good? No judgment?

Speaker 10 (19:20):
Like, twenty years ago, I had an affair with the
older woman. Uh, fast forward, I'm dating her daughter now engaged.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Wow, so the mom never told him?

Speaker 10 (19:33):
You never told and her mom like been planning professional
the whole time, like polker face, Like it's kind of crazy.
So and the thing in my mind is like, is
her daughter the same way?

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Like you know, like I don't, Oh, how don you
haven't said anything either? Are you the same way? As
you know what I'm saying?

Speaker 7 (19:54):
I mean, I mean, I'm.

Speaker 10 (19:56):
Definitely a dog. Well I was a dog at the point,
And I don't how did you even bring that up?
Like I don't even know, you know, honestly, how to
you know?

Speaker 1 (20:05):
So you had sex with your but twenty years ago?

Speaker 7 (20:08):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yes, yes, twenty years ago.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Who's Who's who has better sex? The fiance or the mom?
I feel so bad asking, but I would like to know.

Speaker 10 (20:17):
I mean, honestly, uh, me and her mom?

Speaker 14 (20:20):
Was it was?

Speaker 10 (20:21):
It was It was a pan It was was so
it was maybe like five or six times. It was
crazy because I was I think I was young and
the pressional he put the moves on me as a
as a kid, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
It was like Jagger.

Speaker 10 (20:35):
Okay, yeah, it was. It was kind of memorable.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Okay, because he was young, it was probably exciting back then.
She's the older woman, he wasn't so experienced. Well, she
probably does not want her daughter to know, though, I'm
sure that she was doing that.

Speaker 10 (20:48):
And honestly, I feel that way, and I feel like
she's totally embarrassed because she's still with She's still with
her husband. I think they were estranged at the time.

Speaker 7 (20:55):
But.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
I think you got it. Just my business on this one.

Speaker 10 (21:01):
That's yeah. But then if it ever comes to light, then.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Just say no, that never happened.

Speaker 15 (21:08):
That wasn't me, it was Ai.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
It's Ai. Yeah, twenty years ago. AI helped launch it.

Speaker 10 (21:17):
Yeah, total recall.

Speaker 14 (21:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
We're not here to judge me. Thank you for.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Sharing, good luck.

Speaker 10 (21:22):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Fine, all right, Well that was tell us a secret.
Eight hundred fifty is a number just in case you
couldn't get through. We will still be taking your calls
for the end of the show for last word, and
when we come back, we got yet and we'll be
talking about those blue check marks. Did Lebron pay for his?
Because he is verified and it says that he is
signed up. It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
They say, soothing the rooms from industry shade to all
the gossip out Angela's feeling.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
That what's up.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
It's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee, and
the Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Hello.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
He's the Jasmine brand.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
All right, it's time for your et I can't wait
till let's start writing for the Jasmine brand.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
Y'all.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
So you guys you can't see it, you'll understand my voice.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
All right.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Colin Kaepernick is paying for the autopsy of the man
who died after allegedly being eaten alive by bed bugs
in jail.

Speaker 15 (22:15):
Man.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
That was a really sad story when you saw the
pictures of this cell, and this was in Atlanta. He
heard about the death of Lashawn Thompson, who was only
thirty five years old, and he contacted the family's attorney,
that was Ben Crump. He helped fund an independent autopsy
and it came back undetermined. But the family believes the
filthy conditions at the jail actually contributed to his unexplained death.

(22:37):
So the family still does want an explanation, as they should,
all right. And when you see the cell, I mean
they said they were bugs and bug bites all over
his body.

Speaker 16 (22:46):
There was a.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Severe infestation of unspecified bugs. And so fortunately Colin Kaepernick
is paying and did pay.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
For that autopsy.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
It breaks my heart. That was so sad.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
All right.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Now, let's talk about a Stephen king movie The Boogeyman.
They're saying that movie had to be recut after audiences
at the test screening scream too much.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
They should have brought you, Angela. You needed to be
an audience.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
I actually love to scream during movies and I love
to be so scared. But it's an adaptation of Stephen
King's nineteen seventy three horror story The Boogeyman. So the
director Rob Savage said, they screamed so much you couldn't
even hear what was going on.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
That sounds like my type of movies.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Yeah, they need to call you next time for the
audience that's too much though.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Yeah, so they said there was a lot of jump scares.
I can't wait to see that. It's called The Boogeyman
again for anybody who's like me and wants to see that.

Speaker 16 (23:35):
All right.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Zenda has officially joined Louis Vatan as house ambassador.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
There was a lot of speculation that that was happening.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
She made a surprise appearance at Louis Vatan's Paris Fashion
Week show in March, and then she was pictured with
other ambassadors Emma Stone, and people were saying she might
be taking on a new world.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
So now it has been announced, So congratulations to her.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
She really is a fashion girl.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
I'm at that bag is nice too, right, Well, yeah,
she's an ambassador. And he said she did grow up
around Louis Bauton campaign. She said this se Vogue on Thursday.
She said, there was this one that I loved from
the early two thousands of Naomi Campbell, and she's like
spoiled out over a trunk.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
I can still see it.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
I can see the image in my head and I
remember seeing it in magazines as a kid.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Okay, she's a fashion girl for sure.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Listen, she's definitely gonna have people buying Louis Vauton. So
great idea guy.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
All right, and congratulations to Martin Laurence. He was honored
with the star on the Hollywood Walker Fame. I can't
believe he's just now getting a start. This happened yesterday.
He had a lot of his friends, his family there.
He said the whole event left him feeling a little
bit overwhelmed. And here's what else he had to say.

Speaker 17 (24:37):
The blessing of my extraordinary gift of humor has and
continue to help me many others. I am honored to
have my career flourish as I persevere through many adversities,
and here I still stand. If I can pass one
thing on to those coming after me, it would be
to board your dream bus with confidence, grace and humility

(25:01):
and ride it till the wheels fall off.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
He said he's been crying all week.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
He said, I figured if I have my glasses on today,
maybe y'all won't see the tears.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Oh that's so sweet. I love he so talent. Yeah,
I love him.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
He's been through a lot too. He definitely had thinking
about Deaf comedy Jam. He is the deaf comedy Jam
host from back.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
In the day. How funny.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
But the show Martin Forever a classic. You could still
watch it out and be like, damn, I love this show.
It's still funny all right now. Lebron is denying paying
for that Twitter check mark because my check mark is gone.

Speaker 6 (25:31):
Yes, when I saw all the tweets about people losing
their check marks, I said, ANGELA, is your check mark going?

Speaker 1 (25:35):
You like, let me see? You know I'm not paying
eight dollars a month to keep it up.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Well, Lebron had said he wasn't going to do that either,
and now it seems like he still does have his
check mark.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
He said.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
My Twitter account says I've subscribed to Twitter Blue, I haven't.
My Twitter account says I've given a phone number.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
I haven't.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
So I guess Elon Musk is trolling him now, trying
to make it seem like he paid for that, even
though he lied.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
So did Elon pay for it?

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Well, he said he's paying for a few personally, So
he didn't confirm nor deny that. Okay, but a lot
of people have reacted and with Khalifa said, y'all out
here worrying about the wrong check. Okay, the game said,
the check's gone, but the checks still coming. Chech's gone,
but the check's still coming.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
Okay, So yes, they lost her check too.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
I lost mine. But you know what I said, and
I said this on the Jasmine brand. You guys posted
about that. I said, Now it feels like the cool
thing to do is to not have a check.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
I know all the cool kids do not have check
marks anymore.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
So long as you're getting that check in real life, baby,
all right, well that is your yet, and when we
come back, we have under the radar. These are stories
that are not necessarily headline news stories. They're flying under
the radar. We're going to talk about the death sentence,
the death penalty, and what's happening in Florida.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
It's way up with Angela yeeos news.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Happy Friday, Happy Friday, Angela.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
It's way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine from the Jasmin brand dot
Com is here and we are doing under the radar.
These are the stories that we feel like you need
to know, but they might have flown under the radar,
so maybe you missed it because everywhere else you're listening
to all of the headline stories. Yes, all right, Well
let's talk about this new TV deal for the WNBA. Now,
there's been a lot of demand for the sport growing.

(27:16):
We've been talking about that even watching college basketball, the
women's have been blown up. And ESPN announced that be
highlighting the twenty seventh annual season with twenty five national
broadcasts of regular season games across its family of networks,
as well as the playoffs. So the WNBA just recently
inked another multi year television deal.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
This one is with im.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
So they're gonna televise Friday night regular season games, and
while the terms and details have not been disclosed, the
contract is in direct line with their current TV rights
deal through ESPN that also ends in twenty twenty five.
So they're going to televise Friday night regular season games.
That's forty four games over fifteen weeks. That starts May
twenty six and end September eighth. So the WNBA spotline

(28:00):
an ion will be very focused. I think that's a
big deal.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Yeah, we want more people to.

Speaker 6 (28:05):
Watch these WNBA games, and we also want the sport
to be more popular, and we want these women to
make more money. So I feel like this is all
part of the plan, right, Yeah, and it's also part
of a let's show proof of concept and show how
profitable the WNBA is, So that could mean that the
players get paid more because they definitely need that. We
were looking at the average salary of the WNBA players

(28:26):
and I.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Mean, yes, it's laughable.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
I wouldn't yeah, I wouldn't say it, but yeah, they
definitely deserve way more money than that. So I think
that's a positive thing, and let's make sure we continue
to support I actually have gone to some New York
liberty games, so I'll make sure we go. They're really fun. Okay,
All right, now, let's take it to Florida. Governor Ron
DeSantis has signed a very controversial death penalty bill that

(28:51):
will allow jury's to give the death sentence even if
all twelve jurors do not agree. You know, it's always
been unanimous, and you know there's time that they make.
First of all, I just want to put that out there.
I've never believed in the death penalty, okay, because there's
too much room for error. There have been mistakes that
have been made, and then a lot of times you're
giving the death penalty to somebody who killed someone. Right,

(29:14):
If you're saying killing is not right, how are you
killing someone?

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if I agree
with you on that one. I don't know. I don't
know how I we'll feel. If it's someone I cared
about was.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Killed, I'd rather they be in jail for the rest
of their life.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know how we'll feel.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Because I don't think I would feel right, you know,
wanting to actually take somebody's life, period, Like, I don't
think that's for us to know any for you, no,
not at all. And the fact that sometimes they're wrong,
and the fact that this disproportionately affects people of color
and people who can't afford a good lawyer, because the
truth is, if you have a great lawyer, you can
get off. But if you don't have the money to

(29:47):
get that and you you know, there's more of a
chance that you'll get killed, you'll get executed.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Does affect black and brown people way more.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
So that's another reason why I don't if you're a
rich white man and you know what I'm saying, So
that's another reason I don't agree with it. But Ron
de Santis did say Jerry's can impose a death sentence
even if all twelve Jerry's do not agree. They also
said he's likely to approve a second bill that would
make sexual battery of a child under the age of
twelve a death penalty offense.

Speaker 6 (30:13):
Okay, again, it's one of the things where if it
was my child, I don't know how it feels.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
So yeah, I mean, like, I think it's great.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
To I think it's like, okay, you could want somebody
to die, But to I think it would weigh on
me too, like this person did something terrible and I
you know, because people also have their own family members,
and like I said, if you have the money, you
can get off or at least just get life in
prison and not get killed.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
And if you don't, those are the people you see.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
On death row.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
All right, And Joe Biden could announce his twenty twenty
four reelection run as soon as next week, so they're
saying that could happen next Tuesday, and that would likely
be a target. It would be the four year anniversary
of his twenty twenty announcement, so get ready for that. Yeah,
we'll be here and we'll be talking about it, of
course we will. All right, Well, those are your under
the rade, our stories and when we come back, we
do have your way up. Makes us a Friday, so

(31:03):
I know it's about to be turned and lit. Also,
we have a special guest joining us today, Nina Parker.
That's actually a good friend of Jasmine's, but she's really dope.
She's got her own clothing line plus US clothing line
in Macy's. But we also know her from TMZ, from
being a journalist, from E all of that.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
It's way up with Angela yee yo, she's about to
blow the lid ab.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
Off this fot. Let's get it.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
Angela's feeling that yee te.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Come and get the tea. What's up?

Speaker 2 (31:30):
It's way up at Angela yee. I'm Angela yee and
Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Com is here.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
I work for her and I'll work for you Angela,
all right.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
And it's time for that yee t Now Kelly Ripper
and Mark on Suelo's you know Live with Kelly and Mark.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
People are just wanting to be mad. I haven't seen
it yet, though, have you?

Speaker 10 (31:48):
I have?

Speaker 1 (31:49):
I said them doing yoga?

Speaker 3 (31:50):
No, I haven't. I've seen little clips and I've seen
some you know feedback, but that's about it.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
You think you would want to work with your significant
other every day.

Speaker 6 (31:57):
Not every day, but I don't mind making money with
my man. I just don't want to be up under
him every day.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
All right.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Well, people are now mad that there's a three day
work week there. It was revealed on yesterday's episode that
it was pre recorded. So now people are saying, oh,
how dare you guys? Oh so now you're only going
to work three days live to taped And they said
why not just record five and one day and call
it a week, you know you want to.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
People are going in, people are really angry.

Speaker 6 (32:23):
I just think, yeah, I think people are nitpicking at
this point. I guess they don't like them right now.
It takes a little bit for your audience to get
to adjusted. Everybody always hates at first. People come in
wanting to like, not like something, So we'll see what happens.
I saw Andy Cohen, who's friends with them, told him
to keep your head up.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
Yeah, he's trying, because it's not easy when people are
attacking you all the time, all right. And just for
a disclosure too, that's not the only time they've pre taped. Yeah,
so Kelly Ripper would do that because you know, Ryan
Seacrest also had a really hectic, crazy schedule, so commonly
they would tape a Friday episode prior to broadcasting. They
did that during his final episode. That happened last week,

(32:59):
so it's not like it's never happened before.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
I mean, if they do that in the business on
a regular basis sometimes.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
But I do feel like when you're trying to get
people used to something, you might want to be live
five days. I feel you I would just say that,
like just you know, because and they want to bring
the live audience back. People are also saying like bring
the live audience.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Think they should do that.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Yeah, so all right, now let's talk about this White
Men Can't Jump trailer. Vince Staples and Tianna Taylor are
joining Jack Harlow in that new trailer. I know people
are have a left to say about this, but this
teaser was released by Hulu yesterday ahead of this all
coming out on May nineteenth.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
I think we'll have a little watch party. Yeah, we absolutely,
you know we're gonna watch that. Here's the trailer. One
hundred bucks.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
You can't make more shots.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
It's just two three hundreds.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
It's not my dad's money.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
They ain't never gonna get a reparation that way, bro.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
So I prefer Venmo or Zelle, But she'm like a
cash apt guy.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
So do you think that's slick?

Speaker 7 (33:59):
Huh?

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Showing up to the course dressed like a dumb ass
acting like you can't hoop.

Speaker 17 (34:03):
You assumed I couldn't hoop because I'm white, which is
incredibly outdated.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Now, I assumed you couldn't hoop because you were just
like a white girl at Hofoos.

Speaker 13 (34:09):
Every hooper I know is entering that big ass tournament
with a winner get five hundred thousand.

Speaker 4 (34:14):
I just need somebody who can play so I can.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Make some money, all right, and listen, you know how
people love to hate people was mad about this too.

Speaker 6 (34:21):
It's just it's a really hard act to follow. The
first one was really good, so I just feel like,
you know, who comes with the territory.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
People got to compare it, and people were mad about
bel air at first, but then they loved it and
people loved it.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Yeah, all right, shout out to sin Quai too, he's
in this. I love sin Quai.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
And Love is Blind your show. You know what's funny.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I end up watching things because I felt like I
need to watch this so I could talk about it
because everybody's talking about it, and.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Then I end up liking it. All right.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Well, Love is Blind Now people are saying that we're
on the show. Contestants have claimed that they would deprived
of food, water, sleep, and mental health help while filming
season two. A NICs were among several stars from that
show who said that that's what happened. There was an
Inside of report April nineteenth cast members said that they
suffered physical and psychological breakdowns as a result of this neglect.

(35:13):
They called it emotional warfare. Okay, I will say Tiffany
who got married to Brett on this last season, she
did fall asleep during their date. What she was tired listen,
you know I am about this episode is funny though,
because he was tucking to her through the wall, you know,
they can't see each other, and he was like, hello, hello,
like he was professing his love and pouring his heart

(35:36):
out to what she.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Was doing, and she was not responding because she was asleep.
He didn't know. He just thought he poured his whole
heart out.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
And so the next day I thought it was going
to be the end of things for them, but she
was able to apologize and explain it.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
She was also drinking wine. You know, wine make you sleepy,
you knock you out.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Here, all right, Well, they have the production company has
responded to these claims Kinetic Content, and they told E
News the well being of our participants is of paramount
importance to Kinetic. We have a rigorous protocols in place
to care for each person before, during, and after filming.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
So that's the response. Okay, all right. So Netflix has
not yet commented and that is your yet.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
And when we come back, let's talk about new music.
You know, it's Friday and new music is of the
utmost importance.

Speaker 13 (36:20):
You know.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
I love this time.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Yeah, I love every single week hearing what's out. It's
way up at the Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
You way up with Angela Yee. What's up? Its way
up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
And you know it's a Friday, so that means there's
new music out today, new singles, new albums. Let's start
it off with new album Swiss Beats Hip Hop fifty
Volume two. This is a series that they're doing with
Massive Hill and my guy is on there, Jay Electronica,
So here is as part of this EP, He's on
the outro.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
It's called Kylas featuring Ja Electronica.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Here it is Bardi.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
Also NBA.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Young Boy has a new album out today. It is
thirty three tracks. By the way, I just want to
point that out because for all of you Young Boy fans,
he definitely always brings a lot of content for you guys.
And he did have a big album release party for this,
but unfortunately he could not attend it because you know,
he's on House Arrest in Utah. But here is Don't

(37:19):
Try This at Home, off of that album we have
But What You Say featuring post Malone and the Kid LAROI. Now,
speaking of post Malone, I just want to point out
that he has put out the Diamond Collection. It's a
greatest hits compilation and it's also a new mark for
him having the most Diamond certified singles from any artists.

(37:40):
You know how many he has. He has eight Diamond
certified album That is a huge deal. So congratulations to
post Malone for that. Also out today Lloyd Banks the
course of the Inevitable three Pas, Detroit's own ps, his
album Ghetto is out, and Ian Dior Leave Me Where
You Find Me. It's also a big day for singles.
You know, we've been playing the weekend featuring Future Double Fantasy.

(38:02):
That was a world premiere. Money bag Yo, here is
Motion God, what's.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
The word smoking?

Speaker 9 (38:08):
Gumbo?

Speaker 5 (38:08):
Herb almost third right now, hook.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
And this song has already created a lot of controversy.
But controversy is good, right because everyone's talking about it,
everybody is playing it. COYLEA Ray was mad about some
of the lyrics in this song. She felt like it
was referencing her body. I'm sure at some point a
lotta is going to respond, but here is a lot
of put it on the floor.

Speaker 12 (38:25):
I don't done it out, feel like shoty lower.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
All right?

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Are the singles out today, Armani White and aceptferg with
Silver Tooth, te Grizzly Be and E Part One, Little
John E forty Plow and the Boy with what We on.

Speaker 1 (38:38):

Speaker 2 (38:52):

you know her from E. You know her from having
her own clothing line at macy is a plus sized
collection and also from Netflix. By my home, it's way
up at Angela Ye. Nina Parker coming up shortly?

Speaker 5 (39:09):
Yeah, she back at it bringing.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Up with Angela Yee is on What's up Its way
up with Angela Ye. I'm Angela Yee. And Jasmine from
the Jasmine Brand is here.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
Hello, Hello, Happy Friday.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Yeah, we are like halfway not here. I'm not gonna lie,
but I know who's about to bring it back for us.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
Nina Parker.

Speaker 5 (39:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
Nanina Parker is a good friend of yours and you
know her from Nightly Pop on E for everybody watching.
She also was on TMZ. She also has her own
show where she talks about Netflix. Yeah, buying homes. You
know that's right up my alley.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
You love property.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Yeah, so you can watch that show too.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
She has her own line, her own fashion line at Macy's.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
Yes, it's a plus sized clothing line. She's going to
talk about why she even started that. So I just
want to make sure you guys watch by my house.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
That's the show.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
So I just want to talk about you and Nina.
How did you guys even become friends? Because Jasmin was
the type of person who hates everyone that I hate.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
But I'm not open.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Yeah, I'm not warm and fuzzy. I'm pretty guarded.

Speaker 6 (40:07):
She and I met, I think on Twitter because she
used to work at Insider and she reached out I think,
and she complimented us on the site, our site.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
I think it was just me at the time. It
was like ten or eleven years ago, and we just
became cool Twitter cool.

Speaker 6 (40:18):
And then she invited some black media out to one
of the outlets you're working out, and then we just
kind of became cool and and she was one of
my closest.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
Friends in La.

Speaker 6 (40:26):
I lived in La about ten years and so yeah,
it just worked. It started off as work and we
became really good friends.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
See I love that.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Yeah, all right, Well, Nina Parker is going to be
joining us and we're going to talk about all of
her ventures.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
And I love her energy. And she's super.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Smart too, very quick and funny too.

Speaker 14 (40:41):
You know.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
I love a super smart, quick and witty person. So
Nina Parker when we come back, it's way up at
Angela Yee more Now, all right, well that is the
world premiere of Double Fantasy by the Weekend featuring Future.
It's way up but Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee And
that's Jasmine from the jazz Am brand dot com. Yes,
and we have a guess that we have been trying

(41:03):
to get her up here, but she is so booked
and busy.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
Nina Parker, Hey, Hey, I'm so excited to be here.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Yes, and we're excited to have you, Nina, because you
are a brand in itself, and we want to talk
about how you got to this point in your career
and in your life because it's always a balance. When
I first knew who you were, it was from TMZ. Yes,
all right, so talk about like how you got to
TMZ and what you did before that.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
What I did before that.

Speaker 13 (41:27):
I was working at a call center. That's good, Okay, real,
So I got my degree in journalism. That's the as
the quote goes, as everybody knows the journal a regard
as the infamous clip is circulating and recirculating, and I
swear this clip with me and Johnson is gonna resurface.

Speaker 4 (41:44):
I'm gonna be at the Pearly gates and God is
gonna play this clip for me. Why not real follow
this straining order?

Speaker 9 (41:48):
Then?

Speaker 4 (41:48):
Why just recently did.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
You find I don't know when anything was found. The
paperwork has more recent I'm gonna do what I need
to do when I need to do, and I don't
need you. Anybody questioned me about that.

Speaker 4 (41:58):
I understand.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
I'm just trying explain I want to live it alone
to a blogger.

Speaker 4 (42:02):
No, I'm not a blogger. I have a degree in journalism.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
Oh well, congratulations.

Speaker 13 (42:06):
I went to school, I got my degree in journalism,
and then I moved to New York for like a year,
failed miserably because I was young and entitled and thought
I would just walk into the studios at MTV and
get an on air job. And they were like, no, girl,
you do not have experience. So I came back to
California on my tile in between my legs. I'm from
the Bay and was home for like four years, and

(42:28):
I was like, I can see the job, you know,
making money. So I worked at a telephone call center
and like it was supposed to be for one year,
one year turned into four and I was completely miserable,
like crying at the computer. My mom was like, you
do not have to live like this, and so we
literally I took two weeks vacation, packed my car, but
moved to LA And this is so crazy how the

(42:49):
universe works. Is I really believe if you take one step,
God takes two. So I get to LA in April
of two thousand and seven, I'm on TMZ by June.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
That's quick, And how did you get on TMZ?

Speaker 13 (43:03):
I literally went to a temp agency because in my
mind I was like, I just need to be in
the space. And by this time I'm humble, so I'm like,
I'll take out the trash. I don't care to need
to be in the building. And I was temping on
a lot at CBS and this girl was like, hey,
you know there's this website called TMC and they're hiring.
And I was like okay, and I just emailed them

(43:23):
my resume and they called me in for an interview
and they were like, you are not qualified for much,
but you want to be a production assistant, like a
runner will hire you to get lunches.

Speaker 4 (43:32):
And I was like I'll take it.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
And yeah, so he was there.

Speaker 3 (43:36):
You were writing with him closely, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (43:38):
Working, I mean he was.

Speaker 13 (43:39):
I eventually became the managing editor on weekends, so it
was literally just met him in a PA on Saturdays
and Sundays.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
She went from being told that she did not qualify
for much to becoming the managing editor.

Speaker 13 (43:52):
To managing editor on weekends, and then I was also
on the show. So the show when I started, I
started in June of two thousand and seven. I was
on camera by September of two thousand and seven. Now
I went from like working in a call center.

Speaker 4 (44:03):
By that January, By that fall, I.

Speaker 11 (44:05):
Was on TV.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
Nina Parker is here.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
You know her from e News from TMZ, also from
Buy My House on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
What was the best part of your experience working at TMZ.

Speaker 13 (44:15):
Connecting with other black journalists and blogs. I think that's
how me and you metly. You know, I was reaching
out to be Scott, Karen Siville, Carlton Jordan, these were
all the people who were working in LA and I
would see them start and I would be like, we
have all of these stories. Why are we not connecting
with the black community and these black journalists? Why are

(44:37):
we not doing that? And actually, when the Breakfast Club started,
Charlottmagne was emailing me like, Hey, we're starting.

Speaker 4 (44:43):
This new show. Can I send you clips? And I'll
be like, yeah, we'll put it on the site.

Speaker 13 (44:47):
So I was trying to talk to basically everybody black
who was in entertainment and connect them because I knew
I was a part of this mainstream organization and they
weren't given any love to black people or black institutions
and blogs that were breaking stories, and then they would
like post the story and not always credit, And I was.

Speaker 16 (45:02):
Like this is right.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
What's the balance between wanting to be first to break
a story but also wanting to make sure that it's
correct right? Because I felt like a lot of times
TMD gets it right. There's a couple of times, of course,
that that doesn't happen. I think that's hard to avoid, right,
But for you, what's the balance between Because everybody's like
trying to be first all the time and post things,
So how does that work?

Speaker 14 (45:23):
Well?

Speaker 13 (45:23):
I think being first is important and if you can be,
you should be, but also you have to be right
because if you're wrong and first, nobody cares right.

Speaker 4 (45:30):
And also you ruin your credibility right, So.

Speaker 13 (45:33):
There's there's a really fine line between like, yes, we
want to be first, but also we want to be right.
And the thing about a news cycle is it cycles
every twenty four hours and everybody forgets.

Speaker 11 (45:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (45:43):
But when I was there, I've worked at mainstream news organizations.
I've worked for NBC, I've worked for CBS News, so
I knew, like these people really vet. There's lawyers there
they VET. You have to have three sources to even
get a story published. You couldn't just tell me a
story as Angela and I just publish it, Okay, I
have to check your story, check your background, and so
it's like it was like any other place, And in fact,

(46:04):
they probably pushed me the most out of any place
that I've been at, and I've been at legitimate like
news organizations to vet my sources, and they would just
be like, is.

Speaker 4 (46:13):
The person answering no, Go to the door.

Speaker 13 (46:15):
It was old school, like drive to their house, drive
to their agency, go knock on the door and talk to.

Speaker 4 (46:20):
Them face to face.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
Like okay, too much. Now where did you leave and
go to? From TMZ?

Speaker 13 (46:25):
So after TMZ, I went to CBS. So I went
to The Insider on CBS. I was co hosting with
Kevin Frazier and Brook Anderson. And that's when I really
started like traditional media. I would say where I'm doing,
like red carpets, reading from prompters to TMZ didn't have prompters.
So it's very difficult going from like this progressive place
to this more traditional place. It was really hard for
me to adjust because I was used to like we

(46:47):
could post whatever we wanted on social Harvey didn't care.
We could go row, we could say whatever. CBS was like,
you cannot post this you cannot do this, you cannot
be seen here, and that was really hard for me
coming from a place where I had a lot of freedom.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
So then how long did that last for you?

Speaker 4 (46:59):
Lasts for four years?

Speaker 11 (47:00):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
And then another thing that I saw you take control
over is you have a clothing line that's in Macy's right,
so talk about that, because you are the first black
women to have a plus size clothing line in Macy's.

Speaker 13 (47:12):
Yes, an exclusive clothing line. They've had other black designers,
but it was never an exclusive line. They would carry
the collection and it would go away. This was a
line that was created exclusively for Macy's. And really it
came out of discomfort and anger because I had a
show on eve for five years and I needed clothes
every day and we were on air and.

Speaker 4 (47:33):
I'm a thick girl, and I was like, if we
got an outfit for Monday, I was happy, and then
I'm like, damn, I need an outfit for every other
day of the week. And there were just no designers
that were to.

Speaker 13 (47:42):
Me making dressing me the way I felt like I
should be dressing in my head. I just wanted more versatility.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
And I said, were you designing your own clothes too.

Speaker 4 (47:50):
What I was doing was and thank god I had
a stylist.

Speaker 13 (47:54):
We would put outfits together and I was like making
my own outfits and sewing and doing things, and I
was like, this is exhausting. And I had went through
a really bad breakup at the end of twenty nineteen
and I kind of made this list of like what
I wanted my life to be like and where I
wanted my goals to go through, and like what kind
of woman did I want to be, and like instead
of complaining about things, what could I do to actually

(48:15):
put things into action? And the top thing on my
list was creating a clothing line. And I just started
to say, how can I put things into action in
my life where I'm being actionable towards what I want
instead of complaining about it.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
And that was the first thing that I did.

Speaker 13 (48:27):
Two weeks later, I got a call from my partner
who was like, Hey, I want to create a line
with you, and I want to pitch it to a
major retailer.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
What had you put that out there already or did
this person?

Speaker 4 (48:36):
Oh, I had to put it out here. It was
really crazy. I was like, maybe manifestation what.

Speaker 15 (48:42):
It did?

Speaker 13 (48:43):
And so all a twenty twenty we created and she
text me and she was like, I'm not supposed to
be telling you this. Your age is supposed to call you,
but Macy's wants the line, and I was like no, Like,
you know, I thought we might be in a little
pop up.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
I didn't think we'd get like, that's amazing, maybe the.

Speaker 4 (48:57):
Most the most iconic retailer in the world world.

Speaker 13 (49:00):
And they were like no, they really wanted to really
devote to their plus community and they believe like you
can help drive that. And so now it is, you know,
the number one plus line at Macy's and it's doing
really well.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
Yeah, yeah, I love that is all right, Well that's
Nina Parker. We got more with her when we come back.
It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 9 (49:23):
You.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 2 (49:27):
I'm Angela yee Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot Com
is here and Nina Parker is here. You know her
from e News from TMZ, also from Buy My House
on Netflix. How did you enjoy hosting those love and
hip hop reunions?

Speaker 4 (49:40):
Okay, it was a wonderful opportunity.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
No, don't do don't do that.

Speaker 4 (49:46):
You have to say it wasn't it. It was a
blessing to me at the time.

Speaker 13 (49:52):
When when you know when you're hosting you don't get
a show, people think like if you leave a show
you get another one. That's not normal, Like what you
just did transitioning, that doesn't happen, Like you have to
be a very special talent to get shows back to back.

Speaker 4 (50:03):
People don't understand how difficult that is.

Speaker 13 (50:05):
Right, So for me to when I stopped doing the
Insider on CBS, I didn't have another gig, and I
it came at a time where I really needed it.

Speaker 4 (50:15):
And so for one, yes, I did do it for
the bag it was and I'm not gonna lie about that.

Speaker 12 (50:21):
I didn't.

Speaker 16 (50:21):
I don't have.

Speaker 4 (50:22):
Family that can support me.

Speaker 1 (50:24):
I'm on my own.

Speaker 13 (50:25):
Jasmine has loaned me money in the past because I
didn't have enough to pay my rent after I was done.

Speaker 4 (50:30):
I wasn't good with money at the time.

Speaker 13 (50:32):
I was horrible, and so when I was coming out
of that in twenty fourteen, I needed some money I
needed So.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
Glad you said that.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
Because people think you're on TV and automatically that means
you're ready right living it at and you're good and
they that's not true. And it's also important to think
about what's next, and sometimes we don't think about that
where And you.

Speaker 13 (50:49):
Know, what I learned from that experience because when I
was at CBS, I blew all my money And what
I learned from that experience was the next thing I get,
I'm going to save.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
And also I'm going to start gett multiple streams of income.

Speaker 13 (50:59):
Yes, so I I hit rock bottom and then I
learned from it, and now that's why I'm doing. You know,
I got a show on Netflix, and then I also
have my clothing line, and then I'm also I just
started my own production company. Like you're not gonna catch
me like that again. Yes, but it also allows me
to be very discerning with the jobs that I take.
I had to take love and hip hop. When you

(51:19):
asked me if I liked it, I didn't enjoy it
because it was chaos and it wasn't where my spirit was.
They did ask me to come back, and I declined,
and because things changed for me and shifted for me.
And also, like I said, I could be discerning on
what I decided to choose.

Speaker 1 (51:35):
That's a great position. So acting is the next Yeah,
checked it.

Speaker 13 (51:40):
Yeah, I booked an Audible series and I'm not saying
the name or who what yet, But then I also
am booking like guest roles and I'm fully getting into
acting right now.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
And that's really.

Speaker 6 (51:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:54):
Yeah, I just really filmed something and can't wait announce it.

Speaker 13 (51:57):
Yes, it's really dope because I've always wanted to act
and i've been really and when we talk about getting stagnant,
I was scared to do it because I was like,
I'm really good at hosting. But now what I've learned
is kind of run towards the things I'm scared for,
because what I realized, when there's fear there, there's something
about it that scares me that means I'm interested.

Speaker 1 (52:16):
But I tell you that's why I love horror movies.

Speaker 2 (52:21):
Scared, but I enjoy being scared to do things because
I feel like it's a better feeling when you conquer
that too, because you will and you can like whatever
it is that you're scared of, you can conquer it.
And the fair is just you kind of doubting yourself
for being scared what people might think or what people
might say.

Speaker 1 (52:37):
Yeah, and you got to just get it. Did you
take acting classes and.

Speaker 4 (52:40):
I hired a coach. Yeah, I heard a coach.

Speaker 3 (52:43):
Yeah you don't pay No, no, no, I'm not playing
with my future.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
Well, Nina Parker, I cannot wait to see once you
have this illustrious acting career, I'm back and we replay
parts of this conversation to see. Oh, yeah, we talked
about this on Way Up with Angela. Yeah, because that's
really what this show is about. Also just being like, Okay,
we're way up from where we started, but we still
have way up to go.

Speaker 3 (53:05):
Yes, well, I mean Angela, you kind of have the
top girl.

Speaker 2 (53:08):
But that's brand new, and just like you, I'm humble
enough to know that I'm starting all over again.

Speaker 3 (53:13):
Yeah, and it's a blessing.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
And some people look at it as like, oh, she
took some steps backward, and.

Speaker 4 (53:17):
No, that's not what it is at all.

Speaker 2 (53:19):
But again, you view it that way because, like you said,
this business is a This is an honor for me
to even be able to have my own show, and
not a lot of.

Speaker 13 (53:26):
People will get this opportunity. So well, you know, a
lot of people are masters of none. So it's easy
to tell somebody what to do when you haven't tried
to do it, you know, and it's the truth. It's like,
if you could do it, you should do it. But
he said, if you could make hold, make.

Speaker 4 (53:39):
Another hole, right, And it's not that easy, it's true.

Speaker 13 (53:42):
And so I wish somebody would try to come and
get come up here and try to get a show
and see what goes into creating and how much you work.
And also just to give you your flowers. I was
talking to Justment because I was like, how does Angela
even get the energy to do the show? Do events,
make appearances, support her friends like it's a it's not
easy because I go to bed, like I I don't
know how you do it. I'm like, support you on

(54:02):
the Instagram, so I'm going to bed. I'll repost it
like you'll be outside, yeah, and working, And it's not
easy to do. And so you know, I have to
give your flowers for that because and you know, and
you look good too, And that's hard to do because
I look.

Speaker 4 (54:15):
Crazy doing it.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
Shout out to my makeup artist keys.

Speaker 4 (54:21):
Shout out to coffee, because with it, I would not be.

Speaker 1 (54:24):
Here ye up lips people. All right, Well, Nina, thank
you so much.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
I do appreciate it, and we're definitely gonna have you
on like a few more times, and I cannot wait
for your announcement.

Speaker 4 (54:31):
Yes, anytime, any time I'm in New York, I'll come
say hi.

Speaker 1 (54:34):
All right, thank you Anina Parker. When we come back.
We have asked yee.

Speaker 2 (54:38):

case you can't get through and we'll still help you.

Speaker 1 (54:47):

Speaker 5 (54:48):
Ye, sure I go everybody since with it's relationship for
career advice. Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 2 (54:54):
You should know this is as key all right, it's
way up at Angela.

Speaker 8 (54:58):
Yee.

Speaker 2 (54:58):
It's a Friday. I'm here Jack, It's been from the
Jasmine brand dot coms here.

Speaker 3 (55:01):
Happy Friday, Angela, Happy.

Speaker 2 (55:03):
Friday, and we are here to help for ask ye. Now,
if you guys cannot get through, you can always leave
a message. We are constantly checking our voicemail. Eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty is a number, and
we have a great question in our ask ye.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Listen to this.

Speaker 11 (55:17):
Oh h, I have a question about women that date
men in prison? That's facing the light years. Is she
wrong for getting bored with the relationship because the distance
between the two things to be very depressing. It's not
I don't think that it's the person who don't want
to say down and that they didn't keep their words.

(55:38):
But after so long, it's like you're tired of the
same thing. Is she wrong for wanting to leave her
prison boyfriend?

Speaker 2 (55:47):
All right, Well, it sounds like she's doesn't want to
continue to date this guy who is in prison.

Speaker 1 (55:54):
He's got a long sentence.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
Yeah, And I think realistically a lot of guys who've
been in jail, and I know some and have extended sentences,
they don't even really kind of expect you to be
there the whole time. And the other thing is, imagine
how mad you'll be if he comes home.

Speaker 3 (56:12):
Girl, I already know where you're going, you know.

Speaker 2 (56:15):
Sat there and waited for him all this time, and
he's doing other things because people are you know, relationships
are very different.

Speaker 1 (56:23):
When somebody gets out of jail.

Speaker 2 (56:24):
It's way different than it was when he was in jail,
when he was on the phone with you all the time,
not outside.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
You know, not experiencing things.

Speaker 2 (56:31):
And I think sometimes for us, it's unrealistic to be like,
all right, he's going to come home and our relationship
will be the same.

Speaker 3 (56:36):
Right, it can't be the same.

Speaker 1 (56:37):
You also don't know if he's like talking to other people,
because that happens too.

Speaker 2 (56:42):
So I would say that at certain times you have
to prioritize yourself and your own life.

Speaker 1 (56:49):
And for you it sounds like you're getting bored.

Speaker 2 (56:51):
Sometimes you can have resentment too for somebody because now
and spend all this time that I could have been
in the prime of my life dating finding the person,
he could come home and not even be the right
person for you.

Speaker 6 (57:02):
But my question to you is this, Angela. Is she
wrong if she told him she will hold him down
while she's away? Is she wrong for changing her mind?

Speaker 1 (57:09):
Now, you can always change your mind.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
I mean people get married and get divorced and say
we're gonna be together forever, and then they're not. You know,
if it's not working for you, I think the best
thing for you to do is be honest, because there's
nothing worse I think for a guy who's in jail
to have these thoughts of what you might be doing.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
Right, you know, I think it's better for you to
let him know. Look, this is how I feel.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
Now, maybe when he comes home it'll be a different
story and you guys were reunite, or maybe you'll be like,
you know what, I miss him so much. I do
actually love him. You can always change your mind. That's
how relationships work, whether you're in jail or not.

Speaker 3 (57:40):
You know what I'm saying, You can always change your mind.

Speaker 2 (57:42):
And listen, I know it feels a little bit worse
because you're like, I feel terrible that he's in this situation. Yeah,
and I don't want to desert somebody at a time
like this, But you also don't want to desert yourself, right,
And I think sometimes putting other people's happiness over your
own can turn out to be a really big mistake. Now,
if you were okay with it, and you said, I'm fine,
I love this man so much that I can sacrifice

(58:04):
everything else. I'll wait whatever the amount of years is,
fifteen years, she said, it's a long time, you know,
then that's on you. You can definitely do that. But
if your real feeling is I don't want to do this,
then don't all right and let him know. And so
that's our advice for asking you again. That number is
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty and you
can always leave a message just in case you can't

(58:26):
get through. And when we come back, we have last word.
That's when you guys get to call in and have
the last word. It's way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 4 (58:34):
We pick up the.

Speaker 5 (58:35):
Phone Tapian to get your voice heard with the word bitch.

Speaker 1 (58:40):

it is.

Speaker 2 (59:42):
She actually has her own clothing line in Macy's and
I love that for her, she saw a need for
a nicer looking plus sized clothes instead of all those
floral prints.

education or pay it forward, even if you can't afford
to donate, even just a post, just showing up for
an event, just volunteering your services. Those are the things
that matter the most. That's why we start to show

(01:00:35):

Speaker 16 (01:00:53):
Ye Hi, my name is Keanza. I want to shine
a light on my daughter Kashmir, who is graduating from
Davia University pre med biology with a minor in chemistry
and a minor in creative writing. And shine a light
on my son pash who is graduating from Gramlin University

(01:01:14):
in business management. Let's shine a light.

Speaker 15 (01:01:18):
On them, Hi, Angela, Hi, Jackman Young, I'm not judging,
but I'm judging. Has that girl lost her mind? This
man with a wife, opinions and kids knows you don't
have any loyalty to the wife, but have some self respect.
She's been messing with this man for two months and
willing to blow up this woman's life. Youth is wasted
on the young, for sure. She guys, love you blank

(01:01:42):
s to the na.

Speaker 14 (01:01:43):
She to the ks, I can read what I write
or not listen to what I said? H to the er,
she to the el. Write these expenses off like it's
a text deduction from hell. Oh I got it, have
a good day, and.

Speaker 7 (01:02:00):
Yo ye this gout you with the bodies from Canada
four one nine stand up? And I got a question.
Why every time you get into a relationship, and mind you,
I'm a female. Why every time you get into a
relationship with a female, first thing they do when you
do something wrong or get caught up, the first thing
they want to do is run to it or run
to that baby daddy. Why you can't just sit here

(01:02:20):
and talk about it?

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
Way up where angela, ye turn out?

Speaker 14 (01:02:27):
Way up
