Speaker 1 (00:01):
Angelo what I call her yee up.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
It's way Up with Angela.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Yee, and it's Friday today.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
It's my favorite day of the week. It's a Friday.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Even though I feel like it's work, work, work all weekend.
Last week we were at the Roots Picnic. It's fun
work though, so I can't complain about it. So I'm
Angela Yee. I'm here by myself today on Way Up
with Angela Yee. One thing I've been following a lot
right now is Donald Trump. There's gonna be so many
movies and so many books, and there already are. But

(00:40):
when this is all said and done, this history of
Donald Trump and everything that he's done, things that he's
gotten away with, I'm very curious to see if he's
still going to be able to run for president given
all of this. And I know there's some diehard Trump
supporters out there that no matter what you say, you're
gonna say, well, Biden this and how come Democrats that?
But that's keep it focused, all right. Another historic indictment

(01:03):
for Donald Trump. In case you don't know, if you
haven't been following the news, which I tell people you
definitely should do, there's gonna be an appearance for Donald Trump.
He's gonna be in court next week and so they're
already figuring out how they're gonna have security preparations for that,
so that should be interesting. But they're saying he can
still run for president while being indicted, so that'll be

(01:28):
really interesting. They said nothing stops him while indicted or
even convicted, so it might be some laws we got
to look at. But it is a Friday, so let's
have some fun. One thing we haven't discussed, which I
can't believe that no one in here brought up. It
is also Caribbean Heritage Month in June. All right, so
we have our guy Navy. He's Jamaican. This morning he

(01:51):
said he talks very fast because he's jamake it and Dan,
who is our producer, does not understand because he's white.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
You gotta slow it down.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
But it is Caribbean Heritage Month that actually started in
two thousand and four by Congresswoman Barbara Lee and it
was made official in two thousand and six when George Bush,
who was president at the time, signed the proclamation. So
June is National Caribbean American Month. So shout out to
all my Caribbean people out there. All right, let's get
the show started the way we know how. Cherie Whitfield
is going to be joining us from Real Housewives of Atlanta.

(02:23):
First of all, y'all, I mean, we posted that she
was going to be here today and she's been wanting
to come on the show. She bought me some she
buy Charae. From my understanding, I saw the video. So
she has a really cute duffel bag. I can't wait
to see what's inside of that. So Cherie Whitfield will
be joining us. Also, shine a light on him. Every
single morning we start the show with y'all shining a light.

(02:43):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a number.
Let's start it with some positivity on a Friday. It's
way up and Angela yee.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Machine a machine.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Turn your lights on, y'all, light saw it, spreading love
to those who are doing greatness.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Shining light on, shine a light on. It's time to
shine a light on them.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yes, it's way ye. Put angela yee. I'm Angela Yee,
and it's time to shine a light on them. And
I want to shine a light. You know the reason
we do this segment is when people do positive things
or people can affect your day in a positive way,
and we need to acknowledge that. I know, sometimes things
can be really tough, we can be down on ourselves.
We can be like, oh, I don't feel like doing this,

(03:24):
I don't feel like doing that. But somebody you could
just run into and it can brighten your whole day. Well,
I want to shout out Beatrice Cooking Vibes. I ran
into her in the city yesterday. She came up to
me and she was so excited and I think that's
really sweet, right, and we took a picture together. I
posted it on my stories, but just her whole energy
and then she was on her way to iHeart anyway,

(03:46):
So that was really dope. She's an influencer, so shout
out to you. It really made my data run into
somebody that had great energy and had positive things to say.
You know, sometimes that could really lift you up because
you don't know what people are going through. But who
do you, guys want to shine a light on? Eight
nine fifty one fifty Mike, who you want to shine
a light on?

Speaker 5 (04:03):
I want to stand a light on my daughter mistakes
and will stud So she workings on all the schools
she got she got a two year kid, we went back,
got a four year you know, and now she's graduated
as the dur Pactischer.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Wow, okay, you must be so proud.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
I'm so proud of her. I want her to know
what I'm proud. I love her and I just want
to her to continue to do great things and love her.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
That while I'm proud of her, must be such.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
A good feeling when your daughter's all grown up and
doing big things.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
He didn't do things. You don't have no kids, thirty year,
thirty birthday coming up, and she had no kids. You're
doing whole things.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
All right? What congratulations you and tower her?

Speaker 5 (04:42):
All right, thank y'all, Thank.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
You, Alexia. Who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 5 (04:46):
All right?

Speaker 6 (04:47):
I want there trying to light on my girlfriend?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
Her name is don and not Tally Natalie.

Speaker 6 (04:53):
Yes, So I just wanted to get her broop. She's
a single mom. She worked hard.

Speaker 7 (04:59):
She literally is a traveling nurse, and she takes care
of home.

Speaker 6 (05:03):
And I just wanted to tell her to show.

Speaker 7 (05:05):
Her that I appreciate all the hard work she does.
Regardless if I work, I still love a woman that
you know, takes care of base and you know, doesn't
need anybody to take care of business.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
And I just wanted to appreciate her for that and
show her some love for that, because.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
You know, that's a lot of work, but it also
pays well right, Oh.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
Yeah, well I'm not I'm not sure.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
I don't really send a pere of money.

Speaker 7 (05:28):
I try to, and some of the things she goes through,
you know, in general, sometimes with losing patience, sometimes dealing
with patients with dementia, like it's a tough job and
you know, still being when you get done that, coming
home and taking care of her son Liam. So you know,
I just want to shout around and tell her I
admire how hard she works. And really there's no footing

(05:51):
on anything when you can see.

Speaker 6 (05:52):
A single mom pus a butt like that.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
So you know, it's very shout out to both of
you and your relationship and appreciate it your significant other.

Speaker 6 (06:02):
Yeah, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yes, that would shine a light on them. Eight hundred
and two nine fifty one fifty. Just in case you
couldn't get through, you can always leave a message and
when we come back, we have your yeeche The twenty
twenty three b ET Awards, Full list of nominees. Let's
discuss its way up with Angela Yee way just like
the talk like.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
They Angela Jean, like they Angela jee.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Man, She's spilling it all. This is yet way up.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
It's a way up with Angela Ye. I'm Angela Yee
and we are talking about ye t. Let's discuss the
twenty twenty three b ET Awards. They have released a
full list of nominees. Now, from what I hear, behind
the scenes, they were trying to figure out how to
do this in person. What they were gonna do was
it gonna be more virtual just because of the rider

(06:49):
strike and everything going on.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
But apparently it's on and popping.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
It's going to be Sunday, June twenty fifth, and it'll
also have the fiftieth anniversary for hip hop, So for
Album of the Year, listen to this, y'all Galorella anyway,
Life's Great, Chris Brown, Breezy, DJ Khalik, God Did Drake
and twenty one Savage, her Loss, Kendrick Lamar, Mister Morale

(07:14):
and the big steppers Beyonce, Renaissance and Scissa Sos. That's
a tough category right there, all right, So I went
you all to weigh in. But in the room, out
of those, what is album of the year?

Speaker 8 (07:26):
Now?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Dan's our producer. He has a very eclectic type of taste.
I already know what you're gonna say.

Speaker 9 (07:32):
I mean, I listened to her Loss the Most by
Drake and twenty one, But Kendrick's my favorite artist, I know, honestly, No, honestly,
I think Sissy.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
I was thinking Scissy too, Sos.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
And I might be a little biased because I did
go to her concert her tour when she was at
the Garden. It was amazing. But and you know, the
Beehive doesn't play either. But I do feel like Sos,
this is her year. It's her year, and she broke
all kinds of records with that album. All right, now,
let's move on to best be Male hip Hop Artists.

(08:01):
You know, the women are killing it, I feel like
more than ever so in that category, Cardi B, Coila Ray, Glorilla,
Ice Spice, Lotto, Megan THEE, Stallion, and Nicki Minaj. That's
a tough one right there. I don't know who I
will say. All right, so Navy are board up? He says,
Ice Spice for best Female Hip Hop artists. What do

(08:24):
you think, Dan, You know.

Speaker 9 (08:26):
I think i'd have to agree for this year. For
this year, yeah, because overall, I mean, obviously like Nicky
and Cardi.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Are the biggest, But yeah, I feel like Megan the
Stallion has been layinglow this year.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yeah, she's been kind of quiet this year.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Nicki Minaja has done some amazing features Cardi B two,
but we're waiting for both of them to put out albums,
right Gloreala had a big year, and Coiler Ray. Yeah,
that's what I'm saying. That's a tough one, dominated guys,
all right. And then lastly, I'm gonna ask you all
about this one. Best Male Hip Hop Artists.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
All right?

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Twenty one Savage, Drake, Future, j Cole, Jack Harlow, Kenjack Lamar,
and Little Baby.

Speaker 10 (09:05):
Who do you pick for this one?

Speaker 3 (09:09):
It's tough, man, It's kind of a tough one. I'm
such a Kenjack Lamar fan.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Also, I feel like Jake Cole.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
I feel like Drake always wins, like in categories like
this and Drake by the way, just so you guys know,
it has the most nominations. He has seven nominations for
Album of the Year, Best Male R and B Pop Artist,
Best Male Hip Hop Artist, you know, so on and
so forth. So he has the most nominations. You said,
did he put out I mean.

Speaker 10 (09:36):
Her loss, her loss? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Yeah, so I'm gonna say, but mister Morale in The
Big Steps was a big album.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
But Jake Cole two, I don't know.

Speaker 10 (09:46):
It's probably Drake.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
You think you think Drake.

Speaker 10 (09:48):
I would put my money on Drake, you would, yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
I might say, Kendrake, what are you saying? Navy? He
wants to weigh in so bad? You say twenty one savage? Okay,
my bias.

Speaker 10 (09:56):
Would say twenty one all right, personally, but you and.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Be mad about any one of those winning, right, No.

Speaker 10 (10:02):
Because even like Jack Carlow's album was great.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Oh well, I don't think he was nominated, was he?

Speaker 6 (10:06):
Yah?

Speaker 11 (10:06):
Yeah he was.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yeah, he's nominated too. Okay, all right, Well, shout out
to everybody who was nominated.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Again.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
You can watch the BET Awards Sunday, June twenty fifth,
at eight pm Eastern. All right, And by the way,
this was an interesting story that I saw Kalise and
Bill Murray are rumored to be dating, and Twitter was
going crazy over this. Now, according to reports, and this
is in the Sun. A source alleged that the two

(10:32):
met in the US and been getting close for a while.
Bill Murray has reportedly attended multiple Kalise concerts and has
been seen with her at a hotel and whatever it
is that brought them together and however unlikely, it seems
they're both single and are having fun despite their fairly
big age gap.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
So she did. Kalise lost her.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Husband to cancer at the age of thirty seven last year,
and she is forty three years old and Bill Murray
is seventy two.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
All right, interesting story.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
I did meet Bill Murray before, and we did do
some Shotsusaki as well. He was in a movie that
Jim Jarmish directed. It was called Coffee and Cigarettes, and
so he was with Jizz in that movie and Rizza
was in that too, and so that day I was
on set with them and it was and he was
very fun and very cool to hang out with.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Where this was in New York. Yeah, so Coffee and Cigarettes.
Jim Jarmish did that movie.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
So we were with him that day and he had
a new assistant with him who and he just is
like a naturally funny, random person. So I could see
maybe they're having a good time together. But Twitter is
going crazy over this. All right, Well that was your
yet And when we come back, we have about last night.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
And I had a time last night.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Y'all know I don't be going outside like that, but
I was outside last night, and I tell you what
I did. I actually met Bobby Flay last night. All right,
it's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
So about last night last night?

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Last night I went down It's way up with Angela Yee,
Angela yee, And it is a time for about life
last night.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
So last night I had every intention of just.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Taking a break because I've been out every single night
and the air quality is not that great.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
But I ended up going out. Now where did I go?

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Well, apparently, and I'm sure a lot of people know this,
but Charles Oakley is a great cook and he had
an event yesterday where he was cooking for everybody. And
from my understanding, the building that we were in was
owned by Channing Tatum and they rented out like for
event or he lets.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
People just kind of use it.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
It's a beautiful space, right, And so I went downtown Manhattan.
I went to this event where Charles Oakley was cooking
and by the way, an amazing cook, and this is
something he's been doing for a while. I remember literally
almost about fifteen sixteen years ago, he was actually going
to do a cooking show where he would cook for friends,
and they actually had called me up about it too

(12:54):
to participate. But I guess I don't know what ended
up happening, but he definitely needs to do that.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
So I walk in.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
There's a bar on the first floor, then you go
up another floor and Charles Oakley is literally in the
kitchen cooking. I posted a little bit of video on
my Instagram story. Now, the problem I had was this,
I've been saying that I'm going to start this detox
for like three months, So.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Yesterday I started it for real.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Right yesterday, I really was like, Okay, I'm not gonna
do any carbs.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
I'm not doing bread, I'm not doing rice.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
I'm gonna not do any candy because that's really hard
for me not to eat candy. And I broke it
already because I went there and I started off good.
I was like, I had some green beans, I had
a salad, and then I had a mocktail. But then
it just got too fun and I was like man,
everybody kept being like you sure you don't want And
then the mocktail I had was a little sweet, and

(13:47):
I'm like, I need some to killa to like even
out the sweetness. And then next thing I know, I'm
doing shots at tequila and I had a piece of
fried chicken. But it was really good. So shout out
to everybody that was there last night. Bobby Flay, he
was there and we were actually when I was in
Yellow Springs, Ohio for Memorial weekend, we were binge watching
Bobby Flay's cooking, so it was amazing to watch him there.

(14:10):
And Vinnie Uncle Vin Rock from Naughty by Nature he
was there too. He asked Bobby Flay, how do you
stay so in shape and so slim with all that
food that you eat all the time, and he said
he just works out NonStop all the time. So, Dan,
our producer, I know you would have loved to be
there because you consider yourself a lightweight chef.

Speaker 9 (14:27):
I love food, I love to cook. If I was
not a producer, I definitely would.

Speaker 10 (14:31):
Be a chef.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Okay, well, Charles Oakley, I'm pretty sure I can probably
cook better than you, So yeah, potatos, He had salmon,
and then they had this some type of corn.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Bread pudding, corn corn bread pudding.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
It was pretty good and so I did it all
and so I'm going to start the detox today.

Speaker 10 (14:49):
Was there anything he cooked that you didn't eat?

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
I don't need seafood, so I don't need salmon, you're yeah.
And I'm not the biggest on potatoes. I can't eat potatoes,
but it's not like my favorite thing to do, so
so if there's other options, I won't do it.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
But so I didn't. I didn't do that.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
But the green beans, I love green beans is one
of my favorite things, but they gotta be like kind
of crunchy.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
I don't like soggy ones. And so did that.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
John Starks was there also, Jamie Hector, he owns moving
he found a movie Mountains, But you know, Jamie Hector
is Marlowe and from Bosh, so he was there also.
And I'm actually hosting his nonprofit event that's going to
be on Tuesday and they're honoring John Stark, so I'll
be there.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
And they were there yesterday as well.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
And what I liked about this event was it was
no cameras, no press, It was just come as you are,
enjoy yourself, network and chill, and that's exactly what it was.

Speaker 10 (15:41):
Did he have like a custom countertop that was extra tall, No.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
He did not.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
He did love him very tall over the countertop. Yeah,
but he was for real, when I tell you, for real,
cooking not even. He was in the kitchen the whole
entire time, like till the end of it. And the
food every time he put it out, especially the fire chicken,
it was gone like that was.

Speaker 10 (15:58):
The food prepped already or did he chopp it?

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Did it all? Yeah? He was seasoning everything.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
He did have a soux chef there with him, so
you know that was cool because it was too many
people to but it was cool. So anyway, that was
my last night. That was really fun. I enjoyed myself.
So thank you guys for that. It is way up
with the angela ye. And when we come back, let's
switch it up a little. It's a Friday. Let's get
juicy and let's tell us a secret. Y'all be so

(16:23):
mad about some of these secrets, but you do, Lightweight,
really want to hear. Remember, we do not judge you
on whatever secret you have to tell us. And you
are not a miss, so it is truly, truly a secret.
People are concerned like, oh what ef, somebody recognizes your
boys X, Y and Z. And I mean it is
what it is. Eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty.
Call us up, tell us a secret. It's a Friday,
Make it good. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
This is a judgment freeze. All tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
It's way up with angela ye, angela yee, and it
is time for tell us a secret. Now on way
up with you. You can see some of the secrets
that I've been told. The latest one that was posted
two days ago. This woman is sleeping with her husband's
cousin and the husband is raising the child as his own, unknowingly,
and people were very angry about that secret that was shared.

(17:14):
Just all y'all know, this is a judgment free zone.
Though we get people the space to tell their secrets,
they remain anonymous and we mind our business, all right.
So I want to make sure that y'all know that,
and you can tell us absolutely anything.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty is a number. Hey, anonymous, Kla,
how are you?

Speaker 11 (17:31):
I'm okay, how are you I'm good.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Thank you. You want to tell us a secret? No judgment.

Speaker 7 (17:36):
So about a year ago I found out I was
pregnant and I was messing around with a few people.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
At their parme, like four, and I told all of
them I was.

Speaker 7 (17:48):
Pregnant, and they all paid.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
For a procedure.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Ooh okay, so four different guys. How much did they
pay you each?

Speaker 8 (17:56):
Big?

Speaker 9 (17:56):
Hundred?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
All right, so you made twenty four hundred dollars? And
did you have any idea who it was? Or you
just had no idea? Do you feel like you know?
Timing wise, I.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
Know exactly who it was, but hey, they were all.

Speaker 7 (18:11):
In the same two much serious.

Speaker 6 (18:13):
So I just told all.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Of them and nobody questioned you, like are you know?
Are you serving? Okay?

Speaker 6 (18:20):
Wre man.

Speaker 12 (18:20):
So they didn't think that I was like out.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
There, but you were single at the time.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
None of them were your man, right, Yeah I was.
You were having unprotected sex with.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Everybody over a couple much Yeah I was.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Did any of them last? Like, are you with any
of those guys now? Are you still single?

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Well?

Speaker 5 (18:40):
They're all around, but you know I want to be single?

Speaker 2 (18:43):
All right? Well, thank you for sharing.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Anonymous twenty four honey, hey, anonymous color, how are you?

Speaker 6 (18:52):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (18:53):
I'm good. Do you want to tell us a secret?

Speaker 13 (18:55):
Yes?

Speaker 11 (18:56):
Thought, I'm pregnant and I told my friends I'm not
keeping me.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
I'm going to keep pad.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Okay, you are going to keep it. So how are
you going to break the news later on?

Speaker 2 (19:07):
When you do?

Speaker 5 (19:08):
Keeper?

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Wow, you're gonna wait to the baby shower?

Speaker 8 (19:14):
Yeah, because I went far?

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Okay, And do you expect the father to be in
the child's life or what do you?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
What are your plans up to me? He doesn't care like, oh.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Okay, so he wants you to have the baby, So
why don't you just tell him?

Speaker 5 (19:29):
No, I'm going to tell to tell my friends my oh.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Okay, okay, he knows you're just gonna tell all right.
I mean, look, that's your business, you know. And I
understand a lot of people like to keep things under wraps.
So as long as you and him are on one accord.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
All good?

Speaker 9 (19:44):
Right?

Speaker 11 (19:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Are you having any morning sickness or anything?

Speaker 11 (19:49):
Yes, very all the time.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Are you showing it all?

Speaker 5 (19:52):
I haven't a thrown now, but I just think.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Are you showing no? Okay? All right, Well, look that's
y'all business.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
So you know, I wish you a nice, safe journey
with your pregnancy and congratulations.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
That's a beautiful secret.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
All right, Hey Anonymus Kolin, how are you?

Speaker 9 (20:15):
I'm good.

Speaker 8 (20:16):
Hi.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
How you want to tell us a secret?

Speaker 8 (20:18):
So my secret is I'm now divorced.

Speaker 7 (20:21):
But my ex husband I was with for six years
his brother.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Ooh, you step with him after the divorce?

Speaker 8 (20:31):
No?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
During the marriage? Oh wow?

Speaker 12 (20:34):
Shit?

Speaker 2 (20:34):
And how did that even happen?

Speaker 6 (20:36):
So we were all drunk at the super Bowl party
and my husband ended up passing out.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Uh oh y. You know, one thing leads to another one.

Speaker 7 (20:46):
You end up being drunk, and that's when I ended up.

Speaker 9 (20:49):
Sleeping with the brother.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Did you ever do it again? Or that was the
only time?

Speaker 7 (20:52):
No, that was the only time.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
And so what do you and the brother say when
you see each other? Is it awkward or do y'all still.

Speaker 7 (20:58):
Like, Oh, no, it's awkward. I try to avoid him
at all calls because I never told my husband.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Okay, yeah, that's to take it to the grave type
of secret. Now y'all divorced anyway? Right, it's like a
porno though that happens.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Important listen.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
How they.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Damn well? You single?

Speaker 8 (21:22):
Now?

Speaker 2 (21:22):
You know right, all right, now that might be too grimy.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
All right, all right, thank you for sharing, thank you
all right, Well that was tell us a secret.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Y'all are amazing.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
And when we come back, we have yet and let's
give you an update on Zion Williamson. We told you
about his uh gender reveled party that he had, and
now another woman, Mariah Mils is saying that that was
her man. Well, she kept going, We'll tell you some
more things that she had to say.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
She's telling us all the secret. It's way up with Angela.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yee sure, she's about to blow the lid off this spot.

Speaker 10 (21:54):
Let's get it.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Angela's building that yee t. Come and get the tea.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
It's way up and ye Angela yee and it's time
for your yee t. Now this was a very strange story.
So the star from Good Times America's dad, John Amos.
According to his daughter Shannon Amos, he was left fighting
for his life in the hospital. She also says he's
a victim of elder abuse and possible financial crimes.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
She started to go fund me. The goal is five
hundred thousand dollars. She said.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
The money will be used for his care his legal
fees and after care as well. And this was horrifying news.
I actually saw this yesterday when it broke. Now, according
to TMZ, John Amos was admitted because of heart problems
to the hospital in Memphis, but his rep says he's
doing well. He's in Memphis filming the movie He'll Billy Bible,
and John Amos spoke to TMZ as well.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
He says that what his daughter's saying is a lie.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
No one is abusing him, and he hasn't been fighting
for his life. He said he has no idea why
Shannon may have started this go fund me, and his
ret Belinda Foster, is saying he's been in the hospital
because his lower body was filling with fluid all the
way to his abdomen and causing issues with his heart.
According to John Amos's rep, doctors have been able to
drain all of it and he's recently starting to fill one.

(23:11):
All right, Well, Shannon Amos, his daughter is still saying
that's not true.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Here's what she said on video.

Speaker 8 (23:17):
See that a TMZ story broke and unfortunately it says
some really like that I made this up, which is
not true, and so I would invite TMZ to do
some accurate reporting and check with the Colorado Bureau of
Investigations to see if there is in fact a real case,
because there is, and I am not crazy.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
This is a very strange story, right, Who do you believe?
Because it's not like TMZ got this from a source.
They spoke to John Amos and to his rep. What
do you think, Dan, you're going to give to the GoFundMe?

Speaker 10 (23:53):
No, absolutely not. I'll take John's word.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
All right.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
And I want to go back to the BT Awards
for a second, because these full list of nominees were
unveiled yesterday and we've been talking and these are some
really great nominations this year. We told you earlier that
Drake has been nominated for seven. He has the most
nominations for the Album of the Year, Best Mail R
and B Pop Artist, Best Mail Hip Hop Artist, and more.
I want to see what your guys thoughts are on

(24:18):
those categories. Right as far as best Male R and
B Pop Artists, Blast, Brent Fias, Burner Boy, Chris Brown, Drake,
the Weekend, and Usher, that's a tough category right there.

Speaker 10 (24:31):
I'm a Weekend fan, you know that. I feel like
he hasn't put it enough news.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Did you watch the Idol?

Speaker 13 (24:37):
No?

Speaker 3 (24:37):
I haven't, Then you're not a real weekend fan. Okay,
well we take that back. I mean Usher, honestly, his
Vegas residency is probably the most popular residency that I've
ever in my lifetime in my community, seeing people wanting
to go to.

Speaker 10 (24:51):
Does that count towards this award though?

Speaker 2 (24:52):
No?

Speaker 10 (24:54):
So who do you have?

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (24:57):
So you know I am definitely a Brent Fias and
I also really like Blast Yeah a lot too. That's
what I'm saying. This is a tough one. And then Drake,
I feel like that's not even fair. He should be
in a hip hop category. He should be hip hop
you know as well, that's not fair. I don't know,
Like I said, Ron like personal preference. I do like

(25:17):
Brent Fayez. Now am I thinking he's gonna win?

Speaker 2 (25:21):
No?

Speaker 3 (25:22):
But if it was up to me and then best
female R and B pop artists Ari Lennox, Beyonce, Coco Jones, Her, Lizzo,
Sizza and Tams.

Speaker 10 (25:31):
No contests, you know who it is, of.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Course, I know, all right, but those are still some
great people to be nominated, you know.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
I mean, Thames had an amazing year.

Speaker 9 (25:41):
Also her yeahs an all time favorite period.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
All right, So that's just some things to look forward
to for the BET Awards. I feel like these artists
have been giving them a lot to work with.

Speaker 11 (25:53):
All right.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Now, let's get into Aliyah.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
She is going to be the subject of an ABC
News special called Superstar. It's been twenty years since she
passed away. She was only twenty two years old at
the time and that was that tragic plane crash. While
this documentary is also expected to cover her marriage to
r Kelly, that alleged.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Marriage has been the subject of rumors for decades.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
They both initially denied that Aliyah had forged paperwork and
listed herself as eighteen instead of fifteen so that the
process would be legal, but it did come to light
that a former tour manager helped them falsify documents after
Aliyah revealed that she was pregnant. That was in the
Surviving r Kelly documentary. Here is the trailer for this
ABC News special, Superstar on Aaliyah.

Speaker 11 (26:34):
From the moment I stepped foot on the stage, I
was like, this is what I want to do.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
I have to do this.

Speaker 11 (26:38):
I'm happy doing this.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
She was an r Kelly protege, you're a marriage certificate
Aliyah and R Kelly?

Speaker 11 (26:45):
What her age was a lie? She was listed at
eighteen when she was fifteen or sixteen.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
He was twenty seven.

Speaker 4 (26:52):
She's ridiculous.

Speaker 14 (26:54):
She became almost tarnished by the fact that she was
preyed upon by a much older man.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
The twenty two year old singer Aliyah died last night
and a plane crash in the Bahamas.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
That's probably like one of the worst days of my life.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
All right, Well, that documentary is going to be on
ABC and you guys can check that out June fourteenth.
It'll be available to stream on Hulu the next day.

Speaker 11 (27:16):
All right.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Now, back to Zion Williamson and Mariah Mills. I know
that he is having a tough time right now because
all of the drama around his gender reveal. He put
on social media that he's having a baby with Akema.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
But now Mariah.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
Mills is saying, and she's an adult film star, she's
saying that she was in a relationship with him, and
she's still posting, you betrayed me.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
You was my daddy.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
I don't care what you do to me at this point. Sorry,
I'm not into threesomes and weird is you sex addict?
Congrats on your new journey in fatherhood, and then she
posted some screenshots. Then she said, my boyfriend, Zion Williamson
is a lover boy. I know what comes of being
a basketball player's girlfriend extra women, but just remember you'll
never get more than me. I'm his favorite. I don't

(27:59):
mind him get when you guys scraps. I'm going to
always be on top. His favorite. And she goes on
to talk about it, and she says that the woman's
family is now threatening her. She said, I started getting
knotless braids because that's all you wanted me to wear
and waste beads. Now it all makes sense. I hate
it here. I guess I'm gonna be stepmommy. You're not
fing up me and Zion's plans. Baby or not, it

(28:20):
is what it is. Off this and then she goes
on to say, I told you it was going to
be the next king next to Lebron. I motivated you.
Your baby mom is the reason you gain weight. She toxic,
I hate this for you that honestly, Zion, you hurt
me with this one. I couldn't sleep last night. I
motivated you to get back in shape. I let you
f me all kinds of ways and film me on
your phone, and you impregnant a low budget porn star.

(28:42):
DNA tests or I'm done. I know that's tough. Well,
congratulations on the pregnancy, Zion Williamson. And yeah, Mariah, I
hope that you get the closure that you need. He
has not commented on any of this. All right, it's
way up, Angela Yee. That was your yee t And
when we come back under the radar, that was not

(29:04):
an under the radar story. But what we do have
is some stories that everybody's not talking about, but we
need to be. It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
I got news this in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
All right, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee on a Friday. And don't forget scherrate. Phil will
be joining us later on today from Real Housewives of Atlanta,
And now it's time for us to talk about some
of these stories that are flying under the radar. One
of them we haven't heard from this guy in a minute.
Twitter co founder Evan Williams, all right, he has done
his first interview since Elon Must took over Twitter, and

(29:40):
he said he initially thought the takeover idea was interesting
and fun, he said, but I didn't expect it to
actually happen now, even though Evan Williams is no longer
a Twitter shareholder, he said on the circuit with Emily Chang,
he said, I don't think he's dialed it in quite
right yet. I think he's brilliant, but no one's brilliant
on everything. And I also went on to talk about

(30:01):
how you know they did not believe that Twitter, which
was long criticized for not innovating fast enough for making
enough money, was on an upward trajectory. Under its prior leadership,
the company had invested heavily in safety, and there was
reports of abusive content. But now since it Must took over,
Twitter has lost more than half of its advertising revenue

(30:23):
as brands have stopped trusting the site to remove violent, pornographic,
and hateful content. Twitter also shed more than seventy five
percent of its employees through layoffs and resignations, and people
are also saying that it's definitely something that is more
advertising for the far right.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
So by the.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Way and other interesting news since we're talking about Elon Musk.
On Wednesday, very briefly, Elon Musk was the world's richest
person again, you know, he was number two, and by
the end of Wednesday, though, he did drop back to
number two behind Bernard Arnault, who is the owner of
LVMA tis the CEO and chairman of LVMH Louis Vitamoh

(31:02):
at Hennessy. So that is all because Tesla shares were
very high. Was a stunning surge in the price of
Tesla stock this year that briefly lifted him to number
one again and then by the end of the day
back down to number two.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
So that's just interesting.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
We're used to Elon Musk being the richest man in
the world, but Twitter is not helping him, you know,
while Tesla might be doing well SpaceX, not so much Twitter.
All right, now, this is a really sad story, but
I thought it was important to discuss as bullying has
been an ongoing issue and paying attention to what's going
on in schools and with kids and even with adults too.

(31:39):
But police in Westchester County are investigating the apparent suicide
of a bully ten year old boy. His family says
that local school officials are to blame because there were
plenty of warning signs. Lucas, who was a student at
the Hillcrest Elementary School in Pete Skill, was so terrified
of this bully that he begged his family to let
him stay home for months before he took his own life,

(32:01):
and the dad was yelling at school board members while
holding up a photo of his son on his phone
during a Tuesday night meeting with protesters and the father,
Christian Alescas, said he'd ask for help from administrators and
school social workers multiple times. He said they say they
can't help me because they are too busy and peak skilled.
Police said they are now investigating so very tragic events,

(32:25):
but something to pay attention to. The family said he
was an energetic youngster who used to enjoy going to school.
He would wake up at five point thirty in the
morning every day and that changed when one student started
to bully him and bullied him until he took his
own life. So there's now a gofu me page that
has been set up by the boy's family raising money,
and the page says bullying is responsible for the death

(32:47):
of a ten year old child.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Lucas was robbed of his future.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
He'll never get to graduate with his friends, make memories
alongside his family, and have a life full of choices
and adventure. So if anybody that is struggling with suicidal
thoughts are experiencing a mental health crisis, if you live,
you know you can definitely call the twenty four to
seven National Suicide Prevention Hotline at one eight hundred two
seven three eight two five five. Just an important thing

(33:12):
that we have to make sure we always talk about,
and that is your under the radar.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
It is a Friday. We do have the Way Up
mixed coming at the top of the hour. And like I.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Said, Charai Whitfield from Real Housewives of Atlanta will be
joining us today. Interesting conversation to make sure you don't
go anywhere, have some fun with us.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
They says, soothing the rooms from industry shade to all
of gossip out sending Angela's spiling that et.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
It's Friday. It's way up for Angela. Yee, Angela yee.
And don't forget Charai Whitfield will be joining us shortly
from Real Housewives of Atlanta. But now it's time for
your yee t Oprah win for you, suing a company
that has been using her name to market weight loss
gummies their online pills. It says shop Oprah winfy CBD
Gummies Amazon. She has nothing to do with it, and

(34:01):
she wants all profits that have been made from those
gummies turned over to her as it should be. And
Blaze One is the name of the company that's using
her name for these gummies, and they've been using her
in the marketing line as well. She has no association
with the company. She was not paid for the use
of her name and the advertisement. Her attorneys are saying
simply being associated with miss Winfrey and or the Oprah

(34:23):
brand has in many cases led to an exponential increase
in a product's sales. Now, Oprah is very protective of
her name, her image, and her brand, and her attorneys
said her reputation depends in part on the quality of
the products and services she recommends, which she does only
after careful consideration and vetting through her companies. Plus, you're
supposed to get paid, all right, for those things, So

(34:45):
you can't just throw Oprah's name on a product and
think that she should be okay with that, all right,
now Wendy Williams son, Kevin Jr. We discussed this earlier
he did his first ever interview with the Sun, and
now it's being revealed why he is speaking out. He
said that the judge threatened to arrest him and said

(35:06):
he would be held in contempt if he didn't bring
his mother, Wendy Williams back to New York. He said
he was threatened with the rest if he tried to
bring her back to Florida. After she was returned to
New York, he said, I'm so scared that I haven't
really been up there to see her since the courts,
and he.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Said when they hear him coming to visit.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
As far as her guardian that oversees her affairs as
well as her management, he said that they try to
change things up like they have to prepare for me.
And he said he wished there was more that he
could do to intervene to get his mother the care
she needs and to help her prioritize her health over
the work commitments that she's been engaged in over the
past year, but legally his hands had been tied because

(35:45):
of this guardianship. He said, if there was a way
that I could help that wouldn't end up with me
being arrested.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
I would be doing that.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
So the USN did reach out to the judge and
to the New York courts for comment. They responded, as
this is a pending matter, it would not be appropriate
to comment. For that has to be difficult to see
your mother, your flesh and blood, dealing with what she's
dealing with and not being able to bring her and
take care of her and do what you want to do,
because you might go to jail for that. So I

(36:12):
am hoping that Wendy does get better and get the
help that she does seem Tanici is supposedly.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
In rehab right now, all right.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Takeoff's mother is suing the owners of the venue where
he was fatally shot. Tatiana Titania Davenport, who is his mom,
has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the owners of
eight ten Billiards and Bowling, Houston. According to rolland Stone,
she says the establishment should have provided proper security when
that argument escalated into gunfire and when Takeoff, who was

(36:42):
not even involved in that dispute, was fatally shot. She
says the venue didn't utilize screening mechanisms. Or after hours
controls or security measures that could have discouraged the possibility
of criminal activity. All right, and wife and Lucci, he's
allegedly and this is all allegations, been offered a plead
for seventeen years in prison.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Now, according to these reports, the.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
DA has offered him that deal, and they'll say he
have to serve seventeen years that is for one count
of voluntary manslaughter, five gang counts, six aggravated assault counts,
one count of possession of a firearm.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
During a felony.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
And additionally, they have also released their witness list for
the yaf en Rico. According to the state, they plan
to call Little Baby as well as Young Thug and
Gonna as witnesses. So we will see what happens with
all of these situations.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Now.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Regine is also speaking out, not about that, but she
is wife and Lucy's ex girlfriend. She's talking about how
everything is not perfect for her and all the pressure
that she's been having. She recently broke up with her
boyfriend Armand Warren, and she does regret that they publicly
broke up. And we're going back and forth on social media.
Here's what she had to say, You.

Speaker 14 (37:57):
Guys, see me grow, and I want child to give
me some grace and to understand that I am learning.
I am only twenty four years old and child, I'm
strong as hell. But like sometimes this world puts too

(38:20):
much on the younger, like our generation and what's going on,
and I feel like we put too much on ourselves.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
She started talking about her relationship. She said that their
love was deeper than what fans saw through social media updates,
and she said, while her and Armana are currently on
different paths, your time spent together was one that she'll
never forget and she loved him and she feels that
he felt the same way as well. She also revealed
that she is in therapy, which is a positive thing
and she's excited about it, and she compared it to

(38:51):
having a diary.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
Okay, that is.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Your yeaty, And when we come back, we'll be discussing
new music. You know, it's a Friday, so that means
we got some new music talk about and a lot
of these artists I just recently sat down with, so
we have that for you.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
It's way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
I'm bad you driving way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
It's way up with Angela, Yee, it's a Friday. I'm
hanging in the y'all. I think these wildfires have affected
me because I've been coughing. I've been having like a
running nose. I had a little headache. I promise you
I don't even get headaches. But I do want to
say I'm really excited for this next guest because I
definitely have been watching Real Housewives of Atlanta. Now there's

(39:33):
a lot of rumors going on about the show, and
so Charai Whitfield will be joining us to discuss all
of them.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
First of all, I.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
Saw that they try to say that the ratings aren't
doing well, so we're going to figure out what's happening
with that. You know, she did come back to the show.
People had some things to say about she buy charae.
Did she give the women clothes and then ask for
the clothes back. We'll discuss that. Also, her relationship with Kenya.
It feels like the two of them are supposed to
be good friends, but sometimes they take digs at each

(40:03):
other and does that ever really hurt her feelings when
it goes below the belt. And then of course we
all know that she's been dating Martel, so are they
still dating?

Speaker 2 (40:11):
Are they exclusive?

Speaker 3 (40:14):
You know, there's been a lot of things going on
in that relationship. Chateau Charae. Finally, that house, which does
look amazing when we see it on television, is built,
So what was the drama behind getting that done? We
always hear a lot of different rumors about Charai, so
she'll be here for the first time ever on Way
Up with Angela Yee to address all of the things
that have been being said. For everybody who's a fan

(40:36):
of Real Housewives of Atlanta, make sure y'all listen up
for when Cherai with Phil George's and they already brought
me in a bag, right She by Charae bag, which
is really nice. I'm gonna post it for y'all, but
it also has some she buy Charay clothes inside, So
I'm gonna open that up so you guys can see
what some of these clothes are looking like. People were
complaining about the cost of the clothes and.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
So on and so forth.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
I do have to say, I think that's unfair, right
because a lot of times we pay money for things
from other designers, and she is a black woman whose
brand we can support. I will say my producer Dan
was in here earlier about to buy a sweater. How
much was that sweater you were looking at?

Speaker 1 (41:14):
Dan?

Speaker 10 (41:15):
It was like over four hundred But this wasn't from chart.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
One hundred dollars, so we should I know that.

Speaker 3 (41:21):
I know it wasn't a she buy CHARAE sweater, but
I didn't get it, Okay. But what I'm saying is
we spend a lot of money on things if we
really like it, if the quality is good. Sometimes it's
for the name. And people were mad that some of
her stuff is like over two hundred dollars.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
I don't feel like that's yeah.

Speaker 10 (41:38):
Crazy quality hoody nowadays, that's kind of.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
Yeah, it's kind of typical.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
And I think sometimes we're used to going online and
buying clothes like you could buy you couldn't buy something. Yes,
you can buy a sweater for twenty bucks, but you
can also chose to buy one for two hundred seven dollars.
So we got to support that. But I know, sometimes
it's just funny to go in on people. So I
also see a lot of the comments y'all are making
when we posted the tune in video, and I do
want to say Chara looked really good while she was

(42:03):
here in person.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
I know you guys are.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
Always wanted to have some funny things to say on
social media, so we see those comments. But we're gonna
address all of that, all right, So get ready Real
Housewives of Atlanta. She by Charay is coming up when
we come back. It's way up with Angela Yee. And
again if you can't get through, if you want to
leave a comment, you can always call us eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. It's way up at

(42:26):
Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (42:29):
Yeah, she back at it.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
Bring in the way up with Angela Yee is on
what's up?

Speaker 3 (42:35):
Its way up at Angela Ye. I'm Angela Yee. Jasmine
from the Jasmin brand dot comments here and Charae Whitfield
is up here.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
Hey, hey hey. And by the way, she came with
some gifts.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
First of all, y'all gotta watch this. But we got
a beautiful Defel bag. It's vegan leather, yes, Vega le leather.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
And I got some she by Charae by Charree.

Speaker 11 (42:55):
Listen, this is the infamous bag that they talked about.
I like that bag, so I had a sample during
the reunion. So they took out everything and they were
not supposed to take my actual bag out. So when
you talk about confiscating, that's the only thing I brought.
I want it back because my actual personal bag.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
All Right, Drew said that you gave them she by Charat,
but then you took it back.

Speaker 11 (43:15):
Yeah, and then she took back her words and that
last scene if you saw it, Okay, So I didn't
say everything she was talking about.

Speaker 13 (43:20):
That because you took the bag back, but you yeah,
because the.

Speaker 11 (43:22):
People the production when they put it out, they were
not supposed to put my actual bag out because it
was actually things in there. Check my stuff out, put
it out there, and then of course all the girls
wanted to bad Angela's bag.

Speaker 13 (43:34):
Is that on the website or no?

Speaker 10 (43:35):
What it is?

Speaker 3 (43:36):
Okay? All right, well let's talk about that, because first
of all, Chara, I love the fact that you have
so many different ventures, but people seem to doubt you
all the time. Right, So she by Charat, the line
comes out and then the website crashes because of the demand.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
How did that make you feel and how did you
rectify that?

Speaker 11 (43:52):
In a moment, I was like, okay, this is this
is a good thing. It's not a bad thing. It's
a bad thing. It's a good thing because it means
that people love you, they want to support you, they
want to purchase your product, or they want to be
noses and just check out what you have.

Speaker 8 (44:05):
Right.

Speaker 11 (44:05):
But on the other hand, I feel like I lost
a lot of money during You know, once we were
on the site, it took almost a week for us
to get it moved to another site.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
Do you know how many people it was that went
on at once?

Speaker 11 (44:14):
Gonna kept crashing. I didn't even get in from the
back from the back end.

Speaker 5 (44:17):
Oh wow.

Speaker 3 (44:18):
That's good though, and people really like the clothes. But
then another issue people had was the pricing. And I
honestly don't have a problem paying for things that I
know are going to last at a good quality, right,
because I didn't think it was ridiculous.

Speaker 13 (44:30):
How much is that back?

Speaker 11 (44:31):
So the back okay, well let's not get exam but
what's not the hoodie?

Speaker 10 (44:35):
The hoodies?

Speaker 11 (44:36):
I think is it two hundred or two thirty or so?
But listen, it's organic, so I don't have cheap products.
I use good material. And the thing is we all
you know we got this hair. Were you complaining about
the cost of the hair? Which are expensive. If they
may talk cost ten dollars, but they're overcharging with the
price is the price?

Speaker 3 (44:56):
We are talking to real highsewives of Atlanta. Charae Whitfield. Well,
all right now, Chateau Cheray, let's talk about that for
a second.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
That looks by the way beautiful.

Speaker 3 (45:05):
I watched the video of the tour of the house,
and we've been seeing the house, but that was something
that took a really long time. So I want you
to just kind of walk through because I'm having some
issues re having a house right now.

Speaker 2 (45:15):
It's taking years.

Speaker 11 (45:16):
Right, how long is it taken here?

Speaker 3 (45:18):
So I've had the house for three years now and
it's still nowhere near done. Yes, I've been having so
many issues, but people don't understand that. So I just
want you to walk through, like the timeline of Chateau
Charay and where we are.

Speaker 11 (45:32):
I think it took Chateau Charae from demo on a
lot to clearing a lot. I think it took four years.
But people don't realize as much work that goes in.
And then you have contractors who sometimes they want to
come to work, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they do the
job wrong. You have to get somebody else, and then
they're like, oh, well I have to fix his problem,
so I have to start over. It's a bunch of
boy especially when you're a woman. I feel like they

(45:53):
take advantage.

Speaker 3 (45:54):
Yes, they think you don't know any better, and you
get so reliant on things. So how much did it
end up costing you all together? More than you anticipated?

Speaker 11 (46:03):
I'm sure absolutely, because I had to do many things
in the house. Most things in the house at least
two or three time. I mean at least two times.

Speaker 3 (46:09):
Yeah, but how does it feel when people are like
coming at you like, oh, this is never going to
get done, her house is getting for a closed done,
She's got all these money issues, and you have to
read all these things and see people talking crazy.

Speaker 2 (46:20):
Even your own cast mats. Sometimes those are the worst.

Speaker 11 (46:23):
They're the worst. I think they're the ones starting the
rule worst. But you take a stride. I don't really
focus on the negative things that come up or the
people say. I learned that very early on from being
on a show. But I have her, you know. Of
course people come to me and say, hey, you know,
we heard this or we heard that my house was
never in foreclosure. Okay, you have to have a mortgage
for that. My house is never in foreclosure. I got

(46:45):
a mortgage and just you know, all the money problems,
it just baffles me. It makes me laugh because, to
be honest with you, I am very good with saving money.

Speaker 13 (46:56):
Have you ever had money problems since you've been on
the show?

Speaker 10 (46:59):
No?

Speaker 11 (47:00):
Okay, I mean what I like more money?

Speaker 2 (47:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (47:02):
Yeah? When you say money problems, what do you like.

Speaker 13 (47:04):
File for bankruptcy? Or how do you determine what what
rumors you're gonna address or what you're gonna respond to?
How do you determine that?

Speaker 11 (47:12):
Depending your mood, I guess I really don't respond to
a life I feel you on that.

Speaker 3 (47:16):
How do you feel being back on the show, Because
I'm sure for the period of time that you were
gone it was probably some more peace.

Speaker 11 (47:22):
But when I tell you, it's like a weight lifted
off of your shoulders. At first, you know, I'm like, okay,
wait a minute, the money was good, But when you
realize the piece that you get and the peace of mind,
it's like a weight lifted off your shoulders. Not being
on I think that break is needed for.

Speaker 3 (47:38):
All everybody, right, just a little mental health recheck, and
then when you come back you know what you have
to deal with. It gives you time to reset and
then be like, Okay, when I come back, I know
this is gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (47:47):
This is gonna happen.

Speaker 11 (47:48):
I not gonna let this affect me. They can say this,
and you learn to choose your battles.

Speaker 13 (47:52):
What's more nerve wrecking filming or watching it? Watching the episodes?

Speaker 11 (47:55):
Probably watching the episodes?

Speaker 2 (47:56):
Okay, and why is that good?

Speaker 11 (47:58):
The editors, I said, you're gonna you never know how
the editing is going.

Speaker 13 (48:02):
And so when you when like say, you film a
scene and then lady, you think like, oh, this is
gonna be They're gonna edit the hell out of this
or are you just like whatever?

Speaker 10 (48:09):
Think?

Speaker 11 (48:09):
I don't think because you don't watch it. And the
editors have gotten so savvy they are They're like the
seventh or eighth housewife. Yeah they are. They are good.

Speaker 3 (48:19):
So okay, so let's clear some things up because I
so you had to let people know you were not
kicking on Kenya's door, but they said, but then people
are like, I did see a little kick.

Speaker 11 (48:27):
What you saw was me mimicking Marlow in a joking way.
That's right. I'm literally turned to the side the doors.
Doors over here. You gotta pay attention. I know Tony
probably don't want me to say this, but it was
a good old sound.

Speaker 8 (48:45):
Right. Yeah.

Speaker 11 (48:46):
No, I did not kick. I did not kick the door.
I did knock on the door very nicely. But yeah, no,
it's way up.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
But Angela Chara failed his hair from Real house Hoves
in Atlanta And when we come back, we'll be talking
more with Charay and we got to discuss this Martell situation.
It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 4 (49:04):
Yeah, she back at it bringing the Angela ye is on.

Speaker 2 (49:09):
What's up? Its way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (49:11):
I'm Angela Yee And we are talking to Charrae Whitfield
from Real Housewives of Atlanta. Now, yes, storyline has been
amazing with Martel and they definitely was coming for you
when you brought Martel around and the fact that you
were dating him.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
So how did he woo you?

Speaker 3 (49:28):
Like, how did he even get to the point where you, like,
I feel comfortable enough to post us together and to
even bring him on the show and to go on
you know, love and marriage.

Speaker 11 (49:36):
So with Martel, it's like so easy. First of all,
he's a cap porn. I'm a cap porn me too.
He's a couple of days. He's like two days after me.
I'm January second. I'm the third, you're the third, he's
the fourth. So we had so much when we started talking.
Of course watching his show, and I watched the show
because I'm, uh, you know, good friends with Carlos, right,

(49:56):
But I never looked at Martel because I was like, oh,
he's so you know. So even when somebody brought brought
to me, there's like, listen, I got somebody I want
you to, you know, want to meet you, da da da.
I was like, there was like, no, you need to
meet them. And I'm the type of person I don't
like to judge a book by its cover. I don't
go about with somebody else's uh, you know, their opinion
of that person. So I did take time. We talked

(50:17):
and we had so much in common and we laugh
and we you know, we have a good time when
we're together.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
So that's how so you were apprehensive though at first
absolutely watched the show.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (50:28):
From watching the show, yeah, because people even they judged
me from watching the show. They're like and they meet
me a person, they're like, oh, my gosh, you're so nice.
I'm like, don't tell nobody because.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
The show, because I think, you know, just even relationship wise,
and I saw that, and you and Kenya are friends. Yes,
but she said you could do a show like a
spin off about how to Date the Dumbest guys, when she.

Speaker 11 (50:50):
Would definitely be my co host because we've seen them dumbies.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
She's day.

Speaker 3 (50:57):
Right, all right, So you feel like she can't really
have the space to say that about you because of
what she's been through too.

Speaker 11 (51:03):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 3 (51:05):
You guys do take digs at each other, but y'all
are really cool in real life, right, Yeah.

Speaker 11 (51:08):
I really like Kenya. Our drama previously was just surface
your house versus my house, and we see who house won.
So that's over.

Speaker 4 (51:18):
That's over.

Speaker 11 (51:19):
We've moved past that she's had a baby, and I
really felt like that humanized her for real.

Speaker 3 (51:23):
We are talking to Real Housewives of Atlanta, Charie Whitfield.

Speaker 13 (51:26):
Since you and Kenya are so close, do you ever
see her say things about you on the show that
sting or you don't care about?

Speaker 11 (51:33):
Yes, okay, like, what give me an example? So in
my interviews, you know, if I'm cool with somebody because
if you guys are friends and you're on the show,
you're not gonna go righty, stinky, yeah, fun, you know,
cute little shade. But I feel like she said some
things and I'm like, okay, so I love you after.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
But right now, even when Martel first when you bought
him and she was basically like he was in her
DMS and then they kind of were going in on
him and attacking him and saying that he was a cheeter,
you think that was being protective of you or you
think that.

Speaker 11 (52:06):
Was no Because I have Kenya would always text me,
so first of all, after the reunion. You saw the reunion,
everybody was super happy. She would text me, hey, house, Martel,
how are you guys doing. Not once does she ever
say I got this DM from him two years ago.
You know in this scene, I don't know if they
showed you guys saw this part she said it was
six months ago. The damn was two years ago. The

(52:29):
damn was a very friendly damn. Thank you for your
kind words. Because apparently she was on the show with
Carlos King and they were talking about his show and
she was saying how proud she was as a dad,
and she was a good dad and da da da,
and so he said, thank you for your kind words
when you're on with Carlos King. Now, that's not a
flirty texts. She tried to make it seem like it was,

(52:49):
Oh he was in my DMS.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
Okay, well, yeah he was, but it wasn't in that context.

Speaker 10 (52:54):
It wasn't that.

Speaker 8 (52:55):
It was just.

Speaker 13 (52:57):
It was flirty.

Speaker 11 (52:58):
He didn't know you yet. Yes, it's a line.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
You want to bring it up.

Speaker 11 (53:01):
She had all this time to bring it up, but
you never said anything.

Speaker 13 (53:03):
So things like that bother you.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
Yeah, because like.

Speaker 11 (53:05):
You're saying, if she's if she really has my back,
and she felt like off camera you could have seen
a girl. You know, this happened. He was in my
damn she said this.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
That's actually a nice thing for somebody to d m you.
It's not.

Speaker 13 (53:16):
But I'm gonna be honest. He does seem flirty, so
I would have thought he was trying to I was.
I would have thought he was trying to. Yeah, I
wouldn't he yes, because this is my perspective from him
watching him on his show. He seems flirty. So sometimes
guys just say things, little nice things to open the door.

Speaker 11 (53:30):
Okay, that was her perspective. Okay, now, if I took that,
I got a million.

Speaker 13 (53:34):
Dms, they probably be trying to follow.

Speaker 11 (53:36):
Yeah, that everybody wants to.

Speaker 13 (53:40):
But I mean, I mean, come on, like yeah, like
I think that's how what guys do, and they kind
of try to see like, okay, she gonna.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
You can't but it is hard to tell. Yeah, you
don't know, but sometimes.

Speaker 13 (53:51):
Sometimes that's what they do to try to get your attention.
I'm not saying he was doing that, but I would
have thought because if.

Speaker 3 (53:57):
She talked about him and he just said thank you,
it's not like is out of nowhere, right, It is
him responding to something like thank you. Because sometimes you
hear a lot of bad things about yourself. Somebody said
something nice and you're like, thank.

Speaker 11 (54:09):
You, Especially when you're on a new show and someone
not really above but on a different show, a higher
level show, or anybody says anything kind about you're like,
oh my gosh, they know who I am. I appreciate that.
I appreciate that. And that's how I take it.

Speaker 8 (54:23):
All.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
Right, Now, let's get to the nitty gritty and wait.

Speaker 11 (54:25):
Wait, and then she said he did he deleted it, deleted,
deleted he did not delete it. She deleted because she
knew it was not flirtation.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
Oh okay, so they showed on the show.

Speaker 11 (54:35):
Okay, so yeah, pulling it up, pulling it up?

Speaker 3 (54:39):
All right, Well, we are talking to Schera Whitfield from
Real Housewives of Atlanta and when we come back, let's
see who she really does and doesn't like too much
on the show.

Speaker 2 (54:47):
It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 4 (54:50):
You way up with Angela?

Speaker 9 (54:52):
Ye?

Speaker 2 (54:53):
What's up? It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
Now normally we would do ask ye here, but we
have a special guest with us from Real Housewives of
Atlanta from season one, Cherie Whitfield, and you know she
is back on the show, and we got a lot
of questions.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
All right.

Speaker 3 (55:07):
Now, we've heard talks about the ratings too, So I
don't know how true are Fosters is, but they're saying
the ratings are low.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
All right, So are the ratings low? And then what's
the plan?

Speaker 11 (55:15):
So from what I've heard, the network is ecstatic. We
all know that people are not watching TV how they
used to watch and now people are not the same day. Yeah,
so we know the ratings go. You know, you have
to watch it within three days. But everyone is streaming
these days. Okay, so they're watching it and the streaming
numbers are up.

Speaker 13 (55:33):
And Angeli we're talking about it, but I was saying,
I feel like the bar is so high for Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (55:38):
Yeah, so it's like we all judge.

Speaker 13 (55:41):
Yeah, like we really judged Atlanta really hard as opposed
to any of the other What do you say to
do that?

Speaker 2 (55:46):
We like to show the best. Yeah, I think that show,
out of all the franchise, the like that one. I
like Potomac.

Speaker 13 (55:50):
Yeah, I mean, and I think Potoma gets that. And
it's not because it's it's because I like that show
the best. And the fans. You have diehard fans, so
they really love you and they really hate you. They
just we're really in vested too. Yeah, so I mean
it comes of territory.

Speaker 11 (56:02):
Yeah, I appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (56:03):
I like that.

Speaker 11 (56:04):
You know that we do have some diehard fans.

Speaker 10 (56:06):
Yeah, I love that.

Speaker 11 (56:07):
You guys love the show.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
So things are good, right with Martel. There's a good march.
I'm dating I am. So that's not your man. We
don't know, we don't know what the situation is, because
sometimes I feel like that's my man, my man, my man.

Speaker 8 (56:18):
No.

Speaker 11 (56:18):
I never said my man, my man, my man.

Speaker 13 (56:20):
Win we felt like we felt like it was your man.

Speaker 8 (56:23):
No.

Speaker 11 (56:24):
I've always said I was dating. I always said we
were friends, and we're still friends, and we're still you know,
we hang out and I enjoyed my time when I'm
with Martel. But at the end of the day, I
just got out of something last season. He just got
out of a divorce. What a couple of years ago? Right, Okay,
I am slow walking this. Are you looking for mister?

Speaker 4 (56:40):
Right?

Speaker 13 (56:41):
Are you dating someone else as much as you're dating?

Speaker 8 (56:44):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (56:44):
Are you dating someone else? Period?

Speaker 13 (56:47):
Hm?

Speaker 11 (56:49):
I am I'm enjoying life. Is that a Yes, I'm
enjoying life. Yes, yes, that does not mean I'm having
sex with Uh.

Speaker 13 (56:56):
We didn't say okay, yes, first of all, if you
would like to, you can, but I wasn't. I wasn't
really thinking about the sex. I was thinking about are you.

Speaker 11 (57:06):
Open to continues today?

Speaker 8 (57:07):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (57:07):
Hey, y'all, how does a guy approach you anyway? Like
if somebody wants to take Chara out for a date.

Speaker 11 (57:13):
I mean, I've seen guys out, but a lot of
She'm just scared to say something to me.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
I would think feel like she's dating someone.

Speaker 11 (57:20):
Oh no, she's open.

Speaker 7 (57:24):
What kind of men are you?

Speaker 2 (57:25):
What kind of men are you interested in?

Speaker 11 (57:27):
Successful man? Someone who definitely god fearing, family oriented? All
about my family?

Speaker 2 (57:33):
We are talking to real Huhsewives of Atlanta, Charae Whitfield.
What are you attracted to physically?

Speaker 11 (57:39):
I don't know. It's changing. I like nice looking. It
could be. I'm open to different ethnicities.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
Oh, you did a white guy.

Speaker 11 (57:48):
I've never dated a white guy.

Speaker 13 (57:50):
Well you should try it.

Speaker 2 (57:53):
Never dated a white guy. I'm not on reality TV?
What age ras are you? Reality?

Speaker 8 (58:00):
Do it? So?

Speaker 11 (58:02):
Typically I get a lot of younger guys.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
I can see that.

Speaker 11 (58:06):
Yeah, yeah, I think guys are older. They may be
a little two setting their way.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
So mm hm. And you having fun?

Speaker 11 (58:12):
Yeah, I'm having fun.

Speaker 8 (58:13):
Now?

Speaker 2 (58:13):
What do you think about Manyetta and some of the
new women on the show.

Speaker 10 (58:16):
Oh my gosh, I.

Speaker 11 (58:17):
Love Courtney h S. Yeah, she's spicy, but she's also
a fun girl.

Speaker 13 (58:21):
What about Manyette?

Speaker 2 (58:23):
About what about Manette?

Speaker 13 (58:26):
Are you getting You're not getting along with Candy this
season either?

Speaker 11 (58:28):
Right?

Speaker 4 (58:29):
Kee?

Speaker 13 (58:29):
I hit a little bumping a roll because she she
spoofed you, which was funny.

Speaker 11 (58:34):
It was funny. Okay, But at the end of the day,
when you're talking about she spoofed me, but she also
kept going on her show talking about my business. So
we're all black women and we're trying to make it
and we're trying to support our families. So I've supported
Candy's businesses.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
Okay.

Speaker 11 (58:49):
You know when I was on the show and off
the show, take you know people to the restaurants. I
go to her her place, and I pay my own
way and I pay whoever else. Well, that was with me.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
That's how you support your friends.

Speaker 11 (58:58):
That's how you support your friends. And you're continuously coming
on your platform and you're talking negatively about my brand.
It took a while, it took a while to come out,
but you're talking negatively about my brand. And I never
said anything about your brand that can hurt my brand. Okay,
So since you said let me finish it, Yeah, that's
real life businesses. That's really somebody kind of bashing what
you have going on. Yeah, and we're supposed to be

(59:19):

It looks like it's a little better outside, but again,
people are back outside with their masks on. And all
we ask you to do is just keep it safe,
keep it safe, keep it safe, all right, And as usual,

(01:01:43):
you guys have the last word, and you can use
this number even over the weekend if you want a
junk dialist, if you want to call us and get
something out there that maybe you want to share a
secret as it's happening. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty
