boy dog stepped in to take care of his son
twice a week. He's at his house twice a week
(04:09):
every week. You take him, look at a haircut, basketball practice,
taught him how he brought him a bike, said, teak
him out a lot of bike, anything he needed. And
my boy dogs turned Neuton from Bronx because the courthouse
on was thick before the street. He deserves your life

time he see my friend's daughter, he gives her twenty
dollars every time is on the same block, one hundred
(05:21):
and fortieth Street. And my son has just a lot

kareem breathing. So he just had a good heart. So
time shacks. I love you forever, my man. Dogs. I'm

Speaker 8 (05:53):
I love you God. Yeah, yeah, thank you God.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
All right, Well, that would shine a light on him
eight hundred just in case you couldn't get through. And
when we come back, we have your yee t and sag.
After the union they failed to reach a deal. So
now apparently actors are going to be going on strike,
and we'll find out more about that this morning, but
we'll keep you updated.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
We'll give you the details in yet next.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
Going way out with Angela yee.
Speaker 11 (06:20):
They say in the rooms.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
From industry shade to all the gossip out, Angela's spiling
that et.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yes, it is way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela
Yee and Loopy is here aka Loopy Blogger. And let's
get started talking about this strike now. Writers and actors
are now prepared to both be on strike. A double
strike with writers would be nearly unprecedented. Actors and writers
have both walked off set several times, right and back
(06:52):
in two thousand and seven. The writer strike in a
six month performer strike in two thousand was one of
the longest entertainment strikes in history. They've only picketed simultaneously
one time. That was back in nineteen sixty when the
Screen Actors Go was led by Ronald Reagan. It was
a double walkout that ended when studios agreed to pay
actors a percentage of money earned when movies were licensed
(07:13):
for TV. So this is all about getting your fair earnings.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yeah, your fair share.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
And so we should be finding out this morning exactly
what's happening now. According to an exclusive reports, regardless of
weathersag After goes on strike this week, studios have no
intention of sitting down with the Writers Guild for several
more months. One industry veteran said, I think we're in
for a long strike and they're going to let it
(07:40):
bleed out. In other words, they're gonna wait till people
start losing their apartments, losing everything before they actually have
to come to the table and negotiate, because you know,
they think they're gonna bleed them out.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah, they're gonna bleed it out because there's a lot
of technology out too that is gonna be that's gonna
able it to bleed out.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
I mean, people talk about AI, but I don't think
that AI can actually replace writers because it's not going
to have that same type of feeling and emotion that
a person could bring to the table. But that is
something in the future that people need to be thinking
about as well. Now, Disney CEO Bob Iger says that
writers and actors are not being realistic with strikes. He
said this on squawk Box on CMBC, and he said,
(08:25):
we managed as an industry to negotiate a very good
deal with the Director's Guild that reflects the value that
the directors contribute to this great business. We wanted to
do the same thing with the writers, and we'd like
to do the same thing with the actors. There's a
level of expectation that they have that is just not realistic,
and they are adding to the set of the challenges
that this business is already facing that is quite frankly,
(08:46):
very disruptive. Now that went viral, Yes, all right, so
people were very offended by by those statements because I
don't feel like what the writers are asking for is ridiculous, right,
They want to make so that they get higher percentage
of the residuals. They also want to figure out what
these streaming services, how can they ensure that they're still
(09:07):
going to be compensated for that.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
A lot of these streaming services too already created generational
wealth the little time that they've been out with these actors, movies, scripts, whatever,
and they still don't even want to let up.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Yes, such some of the demands increase minimum pay rates,
increased streaming residuals, improved working conditions. Royalty payments, which are
contingent on the number of the show's reruns, are no
longer reliable. U streaming has shifted to shorter seasons over
longer periods of time. It's made less work available to actors.
Union members want guarantees from studio and production companies about
(09:45):
how AI will be used. They want to protect their
likenesses and make sure that they're well compensated when any
of their work is used to train AI. All right,
So those are the things that are on the table,
all right, And we'll give you some more updates again
because they're supposed to be announcing this morning.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
So we're watching what's happening.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
All right, we tuned in now.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Diddy has also announced the launch of a new marketplace
that's for black businesses and cultures worldwide, empower Global.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 12 (10:12):
Welcome to Empowered Global, a new marketplace launching today for
black businesses and customers worldwide. With the launch of Empowered Global,
our goal is to provide a platform for black businesses
to reach a global audience and empowered customers to support
and shop the best black owned brands and beauty, fashion, art,
and lifestyle. We want to elevate the black economy by
(10:36):
creating opportunities for black entrepreneurs to build and scale successful businesses.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
He said he was inspired by the story of Black
Wall Street, where black unity proved to be successful. He said,
we were inspired by what can be built when we
support each other and invest in our communities. All right,
Well that is your yeet And when we come back,
Lupy and I are going to be talking about last night.
This is some thing that went down last night. We
were actually in the same space last night.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
You said yes, yes, and.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
I'm queeling, I'm feeling like I'm back.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
I'm still alive in inspirational space. All right, So we'll
discuss that when we come back. About last night, It's
way up at Angela.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Ye going way unut with Angela Yee. Follow follow me,
tell my ro Are you following the new show on
Social act Pool?
Speaker 5 (11:25):
What y'all waiting for?
Speaker 13 (11:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (11:28):
Follow me now search at Way up with Ye?
Speaker 5 (11:32):
So about last night last night? Last nights I.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Went down, Yes, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee. And Loopy is here with me, Loopy blogger.
And last night we actually were all at this event.
Even by the way, Navy who runs the boards up here,
he's the one that you hear him doing all the drops, right,
we were at an event for Buggery. I had to
(11:58):
look up how to really say that name. You're supposed
to say the U is like a quick boot boogery.
But anyway, it was a pop up event and they're
celebrating the seventy fifth anniversary of Sir penty that collection,
which is their iconic jewelry and watch collection that was
inspired by Serpent. Right, that's all they said that Elizabeth
(12:20):
Taylor would wear. They said, that's all she knows in
Italian is boogery. It was a flat it was a
really fun event. And so the pop up shop, they've
been doing a lot of different things and celebrations around
this seventy fifth anniversary. So yesterday we were there and
I have to say, you know, we were trying on
a lot of different jewelry. I was very careful to
(12:41):
make sure, you see me put this back right, because
some of those things were very pricey. My mom came
out and I was like, my calm down because she
was trying stuff on too. I was like, relax. But
the watch is like a snake that goes around your wrists.
So they have a shorter version than they have like
like a three layered one, and then they have one
that's like six layers. That's really amazing. One day, guys,
(13:05):
one day.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
I didn't even wanted nothing. I just stood away from it.
I just know it looked beautiful.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Stayed away from it.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
I stood away from it.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
I definitely pressure some guys into purchasing items for their
loved ones. You know, you actually this morning, shine a
light on your wife. That would be an amazing light
to shine. Get a boo, you know for Brooklyn as
little Kim is and you know when she did the
jump off this famous line black ball be dressed in Okay,
(13:37):
But yes, my friends were all in there, and if
you look on our pages, we were all trying stuff up.
As a matter of fact, I posted like I had
on the penty necklace with the ring and the watch,
and then we put a little video up and people
were in my dms like, wow, how'd you get all that?
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Like you No, I didn't. I gave it right back. Okay,
I don't have it.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
But a lot of people were tempted to try it
on and then run out of the store.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
But it was a nice event.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Yeah, it was a lot of money in the building.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
Yeah, there was a lot of money in there.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
The whole team, Kevin Lowles, Michael Kaiser, Julie Greenwall from
Warner Music Atlanta three hundred, they all were there. Tamika Mallory,
who I love until Freedom, she was there as well,
And so we're going to be doing something together.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
I see Marlow from Hawaiian.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Jamie Hector, that is my boy.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
He's also from Brooklyn, Jamie Hector aka Marlow.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Yes, I see Marlow in there. I see TDJ. Gibson
in the.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Brooklyn Harriet Todge Gibson was there you're an NBA player.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Yeah, a lot of Brooklyn people building.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Glenn good money in there.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
I was like, okay, Maino came through, Mano was outside
Mano and of course Jasmine Brand was there. Yes, and
all my girls came out, so that was fun, beautiful event.
One of my best friends in high school came. She
bought her mom, so that was nice, you know that
she came and her mom came. Actually she's the person
my friend Jamil, her mom and my mom. We take
(14:55):
our moms on like vacations together once a year, so
that's a nice thing to because that way we can
go out and party without them and then resume at
brunch the next day. But yeah, so shout out to
everybody who came through. A Stacy Tisdal, who's my partner
in Wealth Wednesday, she was there as well. Yeah, we
(15:15):
had a good time and there was some cocktails. We
had good music playing eight ads.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
At one point, man, it was like, yo, do you
even know what you eat? And I was like not,
but I know it expensive. It tastes expensive, and it's
better than eating white Castle in the Bronx.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Or they would have had white Castle.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yeah, I'm good, I'm like I'm eating rich one now,
I'm good. I had a blast, all.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Right, now when we come back, all right, because listen,
one way to steal someone's girl is by giving them
expensive jewelry. But I want to talk about this story
that I saw. Well, I am telling to who Kid
Now he was talking about a situation with Tupac. Who
Kid asked him if he ever met Tupac, And here's
what he said.
Speaker 14 (15:56):
I never had an interaction with Tupac, but Apple the
App and the Black Eyed he had this girlfriend, I
don't want to name her name or put her on blast,
and they were eating that freaking Rosco's chicken and waffles.
No worry, she was hot, and then Tupac did like this.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
It was over. And then she's like, oh my gosh,
I'll be right back. And then Apple the App was like.
Speaker 14 (16:17):
Thirty minutes later, chicken waffles got all cold and he's like,
she ain't coming back.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Wow, So his girl left with Tupac.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
We had a whole conversation up here like is there
anybody that if some guy motioned for you were on
a date with your man, would you get up and leave?
And so we want to ask you guys, have you
ever had somebody steal your partner, just steal your partner
away from you. You just were out with somebody and
next thing you know, she never came back. And I've
heard of a few different celebrity instances of something like
(16:49):
this happening, but I just want to know from you guys.
Has it ever been a situation you've been out with
your significant other and then someone stole that person from you.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a number.
I feel like that is a crazy thing to happen,
But call us up. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty. Has this ever happened to you? It's way
(17:11):
up with Angela yee, going.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 15 (17:16):
I'm will How are you?
Speaker 3 (17:17):
I'm good? Thank you.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Have you ever had a situation where somebody just stole
your partner from you?
Speaker 16 (17:22):
And there was a situation where it was kind of
opposite of that where sister invited a friend over who was.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Dating and she brought the date.
Speaker 16 (17:31):
And I kind of really.
Speaker 10 (17:32):
Got inside that on the flap and took.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Over what's back right now? I'm not just that's but okay,
And what ended up happening.
Speaker 15 (17:42):
We ended up dating and living any together, and we
like moved into our doo ball together.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
And oh my gosh, you heard I made a whole
family out of it.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Yeah, all right, so it was worth it, you would.
Speaker 16 (17:55):
Say, Oh, absolutely, I don't regret it.
Speaker 10 (17:57):
I just feel bad for the other person.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
You know, well you do have a heart, okay, yes,
all right, thank you for calling.
Speaker 6 (18:05):
No, thank you?
Speaker 3 (18:06):
What's up? John?
Speaker 16 (18:07):
How are you?
Speaker 8 (18:07):
How you doing?
Speaker 4 (18:08):
How you doing?
Speaker 5 (18:10):
John?
Speaker 3 (18:11):
So what happened to you? Somebody tell your girl?
Speaker 17 (18:14):
Well, she wasn't really my girl, but I was on
tour with a notable individual and I met a girl okay,
and you know, they were hanging out while we was
in that town, and Scott kept sending me on errands.
(18:34):
I didn't pick up on it right away.
Speaker 10 (18:37):
So the girl was in my room for like a day.
So send me to.
Speaker 17 (18:42):
The store get something. He said he needed my first
new ticket on it. You know, he wanted to keep
it private.
Speaker 13 (18:47):
That was fine.
Speaker 17 (18:47):
Came back and he sent me to the mall because
something else.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
Oh my god, she wasn't in the room no more.
Damn who was it?
Speaker 17 (18:58):
And I was like, okay, she's gone.
Speaker 10 (19:01):
Both is gone.
Speaker 17 (19:03):
No problem. I continued to work. He did the show
that night, and we left, and when we got to
the next town, somebody else on the team was like,
you know, he snatched the girl out your room. But
it was nothing I could say.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
I gotta know who was it? Who was it?
Speaker 17 (19:20):
I can't put it out there.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
What city are they from?
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Oday?
Speaker 10 (19:25):
From New York?
Speaker 3 (19:26):
I could tell her by his voice, right, okay.
Speaker 8 (19:28):
From New York.
Speaker 17 (19:29):
And he's still out here, still out here, he's still notable.
So we're still good.
Speaker 10 (19:34):
I don't take nothing personally.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
I think fair.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
How are you okay with that?
Speaker 10 (19:41):
Because she wasn't my girl?
Speaker 17 (19:42):
I met her we went to the mall.
Speaker 10 (19:44):
Every time we went to a different city, we would.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
Always go to the mall.
Speaker 10 (19:47):
So we went to the mall.
Speaker 17 (19:49):
And the girl walked.
Speaker 16 (19:50):
Up on me.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Did he ever do that to you again? Or is
that the only time?
Speaker 10 (19:54):
No, that was just that one time.
Speaker 17 (19:55):
And I'm still waiting to say something to him. It
is about fifteen years ago, but I'm still waiting.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
All right, Well, thank you for calling.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
That's the story.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
Appreciate you that he's good.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
He's got a good sense of humor about it.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
Absolutely taking a chance.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
Hey, Quinn, what's up?
Speaker 10 (20:12):
What's going on? Angela? How you doing?
Speaker 3 (20:14):

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Have you ever had your girls stolen or what happened?
Speaker 10 (20:24):
So me and my boy, we're from Connecticut. We threw
a party, so oh my dad, I ain't for So
we were stolen a party and some dudes from New
York invited some Connecticut girls to the party. The whole
party then v I t with them. Turning up after
the party and girls left with us. These dudes was
chasing us in their car for five follow.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
The girls liked you are better and.
Speaker 10 (20:46):
The night ended up being great. I guess I guess

Angela's feeling that yet, Come and get the tea.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Yes, it's way up, but Angela yee. I'm Angela Yee,
and Loopy is here.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Off the air, He's given me all the baseball major
League baseball information.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Yes, he's like, you know, what this is. I'm like, no,
but we're gonna get into that later as we talk
about the SPS.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Right now, let's talk about Sukie Hannah. Now, she went
viral and people were sharing her OnlyFans videos and I
saw people were discussing urination and what is that? And
is that I don't even say. I don't know what
words I can and can't say at this time. Slot Okay,
but she was recently discussing on the armand Wigans show
(24:52):
what that actually was that was happening in that only
fans video that went viral.
Speaker 21 (24:58):
Like even right now, you're going viral for released only
fans that you were playing with yourself, and it's apparently
one hundred percent what people.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Listening it was one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
I love okay, I love the pe on myself, okay.
Speaker 21 (25:12):
And some of the comments are really discussing.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
Well, no, the thing is, I'm a disgusting person. So
it's just like people being knew that about me. I
don't give I think we did know. She's very open
and honest about that.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
So definitely not surprised.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Yeah, that's why I'm like, she's going viral.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
People are like infuriated, but hello, you know when you
listen to her music, when you see the videos that
she's put out and see other things that she's done.
I mean, I don't think she cares. Yes, it is
what it is. Yeah, So there you have it. She
said she's very comfortable in her own skin and she
(25:49):
doesn't like when people are judgmental.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
By the way.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
She did also do lip service, so make sure you
guys check out that episode. Felt like she was conservative
shaming me because I am a little more conservative. She
was like, yetto'll do that. Well, I'm like, no, I don't,
but that's okay.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
I hate that.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Yeah, all right. Jason de Rollo.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
In the meantime, because you know, I love to talk
about money, he did an interview with Forbes Talks and
he talked about his different streams of income and what
makes him the most money and it's not the most
exciting thing, but it's a great investment.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
Listen to this, So, how many sources of income do
you have?
Speaker 4 (26:22):
Thirteen?
Speaker 9 (26:23):
Maybe what's the highest.
Speaker 13 (26:25):
It's a very un sexy business, but it is a monster.
It's called a rocket car wash, and rocket car wash
is basically changing the way that people get their cars washed.
Speaker 11 (26:38):
So is this the business you mentioned in your book
that's valued at two billion dollars.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Yes, I mean he's invested in Rumbo boxing. I've done
that before, catch La, the UK's project Icon. He also
has bought a stake in a new Omaha women's volleyball team.
So he's got a lot of different things happening. So listen,
diverseification something hits.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
He is not playing if something. If something fails, I'm sorry.
If something fails, he's got something else to back them up.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
And speaking of money, because I want to talk about money, money, money,
let's talk about Michael Jordan's brand. His daughter, Jasmine is
leading the charts for a very historic w NBA move
all right. She studied sports and management at Syracuse University,
and Jasmine Jordan was the coordinator of basketball operations for
the Charlotte Hornets. She now works as a field representative
for the Jordan Brand, and for the first time at
(27:30):
the nineteenth WNBA All Star Game, the Jordan Brand's logo
will appear on the jerseys wow for the w NBA
All Star Game. That deal displays their commitment to the
women's game and so congratulations. Jasmine Jordan also shared an
Instagram story talking about that, and so that's a really
dope thing. The WNBA is really exciting right now. It
(27:51):
is shout out to our New York Liberty.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Everything female is exciting right now, whether it's music, cooking.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Sports, everything, boxing, everything, boxing.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
World.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
And listen, there's another woman who's making a lot of money.
Kim Kardashian. All right, Skims, her brand, Skims. The valuation
is now four billion dollars. Okay, so they're in anticipation
of a possible initial public offering and IPO. According to
a report, she has launched another fundraising round for Skims
(28:25):
and they're trying to value that company at close to
four billion dollars. That our brand is going to register
sales around one billion dollars this year, So that's an
increase of around one hundred percent year over yearesh.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
That's of body shoots.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Yes, Skim.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
You know, Skims is like the like spanks basically, all right,
well that is your yet, you know, I like to
talk about money. It's aspirational and when we come back,
we have under the radar. These are stories that may
not be in the front pages of the news, but
you need.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
To know about it.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
And you know, we want to talk about an an
over the counter pill that is now going to be available.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
It's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 5 (29:05):
Going way out with Angela Yee, way.
Speaker 15 (29:09):
Just like the like they Angela Jean, like they Angela Jee.
Speaker 5 (29:13):
Man, she's spilling it all.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
This is yet way up, all right, it's way yup
with Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
I'm Angela Yee, and Loopy is here with me. You
still a love loopy blogger?
Speaker 4 (29:26):
Let's get it.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Are you gonna drop the blogger in your name?
Speaker 15 (29:29):
You think?
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Just call yourself?
Speaker 2 (29:30):
That's not even my name no more.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Oh our name is Everybody loves Loopy.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Okay, so we could just go loopy for sure.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
No, but we just always call you Loopy blogger.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
So we can keep the blogger.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
This keep Loopy Loopy. Everybody loves loopy, all right.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
And I just want to also point out that today
is also National French Friday, so McDonald's is giving out
free Friday today.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Just want to give you guys that little hack.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
I do feel like National French Friday should be on
a Friday always, even if it's like the second Friday
of July. There weird because you know Navy who runs
the boards up here our director.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
He said, you know, today's Friday and I was like, no,
it's not.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
And he's like, oh, well, you know, I mean French
Friday and I was like, okay.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
So just putting that out there.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
The SP's were yesterday though, and we had discussed the
preview for it before. We're Clarissashields winning for Best Boxer, yes,
and beating out a lot of people. One of them
was Devin Haney, who, by the way, I just want
to break this news that I saw on TMZ. He
was arrested this morning following a night out in Hollywood.
They say they found a semi automatic handgun in his
(30:34):
car during a routine traffic stop. He was not driving,
but the person who was driving told officers that there
was a firearm inside of the ride. That's when Devin
Haney and his security got out of the car. They
started the vehicle found that under the driver's seat. They
said no one took ownership of the gun, and since
the car was registered to Devin Haney, he was arrested
and booked for felony possession of a concealed weapon.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
He was released though this morning.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
Just putting that out there, and from my understanding, somebody
did at the police station take ownership of the gun,
so he'll be fine with that. But the car was
registered in his name. That's why he ended up getting
arrested in when no one takes ownership, but at the
station someone did.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
All right, But back to the sb's.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
All right, let's discuss some of these winners and what
went down at the sb's.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
First of all, they did honor Carmelo Anthony.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
They should as they should now loopy before we get
into them. The ESB's honoring Carmelo Anthony. You're a huge
Knicks fan. Yes, that is your team, and Carmelo is
a large part of the reason why you're in the
position you're in.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Yes, Like he took me places as a Nick player,
and just because I started making rent videos when Melo
came and the first one I ever made and went
viral and they just never stopped. I ended up meeting
Eddie Hung from Weis. I ended up they ended up
(31:56):
following me for a day doing like a three part
interview on me explaining me my life as a Nick
fan being from the Bronx. So I'm kind of heartbroken
Melo didn't get to win the championship in the career
all with the Knicks. But I just want him to know.
I want to give him his flowers and let him
know that he did a lot for me and put
(32:16):
me on and I met a lot of people via him.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
All Right, that's a good person.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
So Carmela, for him to see you and the support
that you have for him and for the next and listen,
here's what he said in his speech.
Speaker 7 (32:29):
Okay, I just want to say thank you so much
for believing to me in this unbelievable tribute. I'm reminded
tonight just how blessed I've been to follow the dream
I had as a kid, like CP said in the
Projects of Red Hook and the Hoods of Baltimore, the
dream of playing in the NBA and now standing here
twenty years after, I feel so incredibly honest.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Uh, he's so sad.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Also, Lebron was there and the big news is that
he is not retiring. You know, he's been saying this
the past cup of the years. He was accepting the
award for the best record breaking performance of the last year,
and here's what he said.
Speaker 22 (33:05):
When the season ended, I said, I wasn't sure if
I was gonna keep playing in that moment, I'm asking
myself if I can still play. Truth is I've been
asking myself this question at the end of the season
for a couple of years now. I don't care how
many more points I score or what I can and
cannot do on the floor. The real question for me
is can I play without cheating this game?
Speaker 5 (33:25):
To day?
Speaker 22 (33:25):
I can't give the game everything on the floor is
the day I'll be done. Lucky for you guys, that
day is not today.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Lucky for you guys. And Lil Wayne opened up the show.
You know that was only right. Here's part of his performance,
and he definitely tailored it to the event.
Speaker 23 (33:40):
My pride Cambry, ye here, take your carriage, his business there,
and I'm old but newball rings like I aim to sit.
Speaker 5 (33:49):
The tablet.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Then by nine, God is good.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
The fart Hamlet doing fine.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
On the second God got up up.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
But my uncle Plank buy me out there will Colorado
tell him all right? And shout out to DeMar Hamlin.
He also presented the Pat Tillman Award for Service to
the team's UH training staff, whose efforts on the night
of January Tecond helped save his life after he collapsed
on the Field from cardiac arrests, so Buffalo Bills. All right,
(34:24):
when we come back, that was your Ye t Loopy,
We're gonna talk to you a little more because while
you're up here, I want to make sure that people
are getting to know who you are, what you have
going on your new show that you have also that
is also on Cameron's network. But we're going to discuss
what got you to that point. Is Way Up with
Angela Yee.
Speaker 6 (34:41):
Angela Yee is way up the way up. If y'all
ain't no, here's what you're missing on Way Up with Angela, Ye.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
Our Moni White is here.
Speaker 18 (34:55):
Imagine me fighting with like a bunch of ten year
old kids on TikTok, like no, this song is coming out.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Yeah, they like your moment your momentum.
Speaker 18 (35:03):
Is dead or it's like you know, yeah, they was
cooking me. They was killing me every day on TikTok.
I'm fighting with ten year old kids.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
They don't carry you know, I'll tell you. I'll tell
you your momentum is like.
Speaker 18 (35:15):
Your momentum is done, your windows closed.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
They like, man, it's over.
Speaker 18 (35:18):
We don't want this song no more. And I'm just
sitting there no like listen, let's give me one more week.
Speaker 5 (35:22):
Way up with Angela. Ye, we jays tend to do
only here five one? Yeah, she back at it. Bring
bringing the max. Way up with Angela ye is on.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And Loopy is here. And we know you as Loopy
blogger for so long, right, and we also know that
you've been very transparent about your journey to get to
where you are, from having gone viral, having fun videos,
being known for that, being a huge Knicks fan, being
known for that.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
Now you have a baseball show. Yes, how do you?
Speaker 9 (36:00):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (36:01):
LOCs?
Speaker 3 (36:02):
I said it right, It is what it is?
Speaker 17 (36:06):
Right?
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Is that what that means in Spanish?
Speaker 3 (36:08):
In Spanish?
Speaker 2 (36:09):
And it's an all baseball show and Espanol.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
You know, I took Spanish in high school and college
for such a long time, so I speak very proper Spanish.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
Yeah, you speak the problem.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
I speak very proper uh ka last glama.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
But anyway, but I also know that you've been honest
about your uh going to rehab you said five times
and relapsing and then when it's times all five times,
and so I want to talk about that. And your
mission right now is that you really want to help
other people that you know have gone through something similar.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Absolutely, and and and it don't have to be the
biggest help. It's just, uh, I want to give somebody
someone to talk to, Like when somebody don't have anybody
to talk to, it might be the smallest thing. Or
if they want to get pointed to the right way
to go to treatment or find how I did it,
because at the end, I didn't. I didn't I didn't
(37:07):
find myself with rehab. I went to rehab five times
relapse or five times. I wasn't ready. Then when I
finally moved to Florida is when I finally got my
life together and I started seeing the bigger picture.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Son is probably like the best medicine ever.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
They do have studies that show in places where it
rains a lot and it's great.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
People are a lot more depressed.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Yeah, you know, I want to ask what made you
decide to go to rehab at all? Was it something
that you had to do or did you say, all right,
let me pull it together.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
So back in the days when I used to decide
to go to rehab, I had a problem and my
family always wanted me to. Every time I was going
to rehab, it wasn't for me. It was to make
other people happy, like my kid's mother, my mom, her parents,
my friends. It wasn't for me. So that's why every
(37:58):
time I went to rehab, I always relapse. I didn't
appreciate it. The first time I went to rehab, I
stood cleaned six months, relapsed on percocets, and then I
went back. And every time I went back to detox
and I came out, it got shorter and shorter. It
went down from six months, three weeks, two weeks, so
(38:22):
it just went it went shorter. So I was I
was almost I was on my way to die. Wow,
you know.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
So I don't know. I don't know what saved me.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Maybe it was the love for my wife, my family,
and just keep believing in me when I didn't believe
in myself and I finally figured it out.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
And even being addicted right because it is a disease.
Addiction is a disease. It wasn't anything that you would like, Oh,
you know, people be like, oh he's a junkies this,
he's that. It's not like you were experimenting with drugs
and not that that you know, it is something that
we should shame at all either. Yeah, but it was
because you had gotten into a car accident. You got
hit by a drunk drive and you ended up having
(39:02):
to take painkillers.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
Yes, because my legs were shattered. Like last I was
in a coma for a month and a half. When
I woke up from a coma, like I was stuck,
I was like, well, I had all types of metal
pieces coming out of my legs. It was like a
traumatic time in my life. I was twenty two, twenty one, and.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
People thought you were gonna die. I'm sure because that.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Long is The doctors told my mom he's eighty percent gone,
like I was gone. I got hit with a girl
that I went to Kennedy High School with, so Hey Santiago.
This is one of my best friends from high school.
Me and her both got hit going to my house
just we were just gonna go smoke some weed and
just hang out. We were two twenty twenty year olds,
(39:41):
nothing crazy, we didn't have kids, and we got out
on Castle Hills, Saint Raymond's in the Bronx acrossing the street.
We just got wiped out and I woke up a
month and a half later.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
And what happened with her?
Speaker 2 (39:54):
She she got messed up, bad man, like I'm still
suffering from like see to this day. I had three seizures,
like I said on Sunday before I came to New York,
you know, so I'm still going through it because I
had a traumatic brain injury. And the same thing with hers.
She broke her elbow like she broke the stem of
(40:15):
her brain. He ruined her life, and we didn't get
They didn't take care of us financially. And this guy
was a former cop, Michael Lombardi, a piece of scum
from City Island. He was a former cop and he
lost his job because he was he was a scumback.
He was gambling on the job. He was he was
not doing the right thing.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (40:34):
It was a movie. He was a movie.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
We're gonna keep on because you're here with us for
the rest of the day and tomorrow as well.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
But this is just some of Lupy's stories.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
I want you guys to know, when he's sitting up
here with me, what his background is, where he comes from,
and why we're blessed to have him here.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
With us.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Thank you man.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
You know, it is definitely a blessing, and why we
keep playing I'm still alive, yes, because that's a blessing too,
all right, when we come back. It is also a
mastery of comedy on Thursdays, and we have Tone Bell
and Michelle Buteaux joining us. They have a new show
on Netflix that actually debuts tonight. Survival of the Thickest
is Way Up with the Angela Ye. Lupy blogger is
(41:09):
here with me.
Speaker 5 (41:09):
Let's get it. You ride the way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
All right, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and Lupy is here with me.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
And we've been talking about this sag after strike that's
going to be happening. They've been discussing this since yesterday
when negotiations broke down between sag AFTRA and the film
and TV industry, and the existing contract did expire last night,
so that was following an extension. We'll keep you guys
in the loop. But they are planning to vote this morning,
(41:45):
well today, on whether to go on strike, and there's
gonna be a news conference at three pm Eastern today.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
So that's the update.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
We'll I guess no more at three o'clock when they
do have this conference.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
But it is gonna affect a lot of what we watch.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
Keep on talking about you, you're so upset about euphoria. Yeah,
all right, Well, we do have the one show that
managed to make it, and that is Survival of the
Thickest Michelle Buteau.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
She's one of the creators of the show.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
She's a comedian, brilliant, hilarious and Tone Bell another really
hilarious comedian. And they're going to be joining us to
talk about the show at actually debut today on Netflix,
so you can watch it there. I had a chance
to see some of it is actually set in Brooklyn
and Crown Heights. Yes, so make sure you guys check
that out. But make sure you check this out right now.
It's going to be a funny conversation. Michelle Buteau, Tone Bell,
(42:37):
Mastery of Comedy. That's a Thursday segment that we do
based on comedians. It's way Up at Angela Yee.
Speaker 6 (42:42):
You tapped in and way up with Angela Yee. It's
of comedy. Way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (42:51):
What's up? It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here with me and
this is gonna be fun.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
We got two comedians with us.
Speaker 4 (43:04):
I'll be letting her have it. This is my sister,
let me have it.
Speaker 15 (43:07):
Okay, I created it for myself. But you know, yes,
what welcome to the few.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
This is wild this Michelle. I'm hey, you look good.
Speaker 5 (43:20):
You look good too.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
We're not just together like you just so.
Speaker 15 (43:25):
We haven't seen each other a month. Yeah, he's in
Texas on purpose.
Speaker 20 (43:29):
Why would you well just give my address away?
Speaker 4 (43:33):
Why don't you?
Speaker 3 (43:34):
Is that for taxing?
Speaker 22 (43:34):
Bout?
Speaker 4 (43:37):
We started like drag your boy wanted some land. Look,
I got a couple of places now, you know.
Speaker 2 (43:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (43:47):
Can we talk about something?
Speaker 15 (43:48):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (43:49):
Yes, it's just good to see you you.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
Yeah, and we're here to talk about your new show,
Survival of the Thickest. And by the way, they sent
me this screen. I'm not gonna lie. Last night and
I stayed up late watching you did. Yes, that was
like the first four episodes.
Speaker 15 (44:03):
Oh my god, So what do you think?
Speaker 3 (44:05):
What did you see? What do you think?
Speaker 19 (44:06):
What do you well?
Speaker 1 (44:07):
If I didn't like it, I want to watch the
first four episodes Okay, that's the story. Yes, No, first
of all, I think it's really refreshing to see something
like this, you know, on Netflix. It was hilarious. It
was very relatable. I definitely to have drank a lot
of different things and thrown up.
Speaker 15 (44:24):
And yes, yes, dating gets messy.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
But you know, I don't want to give away too much,
so we'll talk more about like just the premise of
the show. So this actually comes from your series of
my books. Yes, your essays.
Speaker 15 (44:38):
So I wrote a book called Survival the Thickest plus
sized Essays in a swam under World. Now you have
to order it like that at Barnes and Noble. And
so Netflix acquired the book. We turned it into beautiful
eight episodes. I feel luckier than Pete Davis's. This is
so nice? Is that too much? We just got started. Aga,
We made eight beautiful episodes. And I play Mavis, which
is my grandmother's name, because she was my host.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
I wonder where the name came from.
Speaker 15 (45:01):
Yeah, it's an old strong name. And she was like
the first strong woman in my life, right, and so
she was like my person, my soulmate. So I'm like,
wouldn't it be wild just to hear maps.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
All day on set, you know, and the Power Bowl
winner exactly.
Speaker 15 (45:16):
And so my character is a thirty eight year old
that gets cheated on, and yeah, that's.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
Just cheated on, but you also get to visually see
yourself get cheated.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
I mean I think that's horrifying.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
Yeah that like lightweight happened to me once. Oh really,
how well, I climbed in the window. Yeah, but I
didn't see them having sex, but I definitely saw them
in the bed together. She was naked under the covers
and he was like stressed out because I was, you know,
ringing the bell, non stout.
Speaker 15 (45:47):
So I have a question, did you did you know?
Do you have any idea he was cheating before?
Speaker 1 (45:53):
Why why would you climb through a window if you
didn't have well because yeah, no, okay, because he was
a liar. So what I used to do when I
knew he was like up to something, because this is
what he would do. He would text me back, but
he wouldn't answer the phone. Like that's so stupid, So
I shouldn't even text back. Just pretend you're asleep or
you don't, but you can't text me back and I'm
calling you and you're not answering. You're not in a meeting.
(46:15):
You don't even you work at Verizon. It's nine o'clock
at night, You're not this hour.
Speaker 13 (46:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (46:19):
Right.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
So anyway, I used to always say I'm on my
way to your house, and I would never really go.
I would just say that because I knew whatever he
was doing it would make him nervous. Right, And so
this particular time I really went, and I think God
was like, all right, let's just see what's happening.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
So I went.
Speaker 1 (46:35):
His car was in the driveway, and so he never
would go anywhere without driving himself. So I'm like, he's
clearly home. The car is in the driveway. It was
a summer night. There was a screen in the window,
and the window.
Speaker 15 (46:46):
Was like you don't want mosquito cheating.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
Yeah, but it just made it very easy because I
just removed the screen, which I.
Speaker 15 (46:54):
Have so many follow up.
Speaker 3 (46:57):
The screen is.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
Not like it wasn't attached. It was like one of
those greens that you fold in like you just.
Speaker 5 (47:02):
You know.
Speaker 4 (47:03):
The window in the room that he was in.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
No, it was downstairs. I to actually walk upstairs, and
so I walked up this by yourself.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Yeah, No one came I would have came.
Speaker 15 (47:13):
I wish this is a long time.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
I want to thank you.
Speaker 1 (47:15):
We're talking to Michelle Buteaux and telling Belle from Survival
of the Thickest on Netflix. All right, so yeah, let's
let's get a little bit more into this, because again,
like I don't, I don't want to give away you
know too much of what goes on, but you can.
Initally what I was talking about was actually walking in
on somebody having sex and seeing it, like with your
own two eyes? Has that ever happened to you?
Speaker 15 (47:37):
No? But I have been cheated on. And the first
time it was a dream. I had a dream that
they were dancing. And then I called them the next
day and they both hung up on me, and I
was like what. And then the second.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Time, what do you mean they both hunged up on you?
You caught both yeahs individually.
Speaker 15 (47:53):
Yeah, yeah, they.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
Didn't pick up together.
Speaker 15 (47:55):
They didn't pick up together. I called them and I
was like, I have someone to ask you because I
had this dream and want my boyfriend pretended that he
had bad reception, and my best friend just hung up
on me. So they need they want to get.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Their story straight. You are brave and your best friends.
Speaker 15 (48:11):
My best friends, and she hit me up like years
later when I first did Last Comics standing on Facebook.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
This is a book too, yes, and she's.
Speaker 15 (48:20):
Like, how you do it? And I'm like, still trying
to trust people? Mother delete? So yeah, they still stick
around somehow, but anyway, oh yeah.
Speaker 20 (48:29):
But it's like it's real cool because after I mean
I had known the book, I got a copy of
the book, but also listening to like getting.
Speaker 4 (48:36):
The scripts that I got it, you gotta hear you.
Speaker 20 (48:39):
Yeah, to me, you got to hear you because like
after even before I got the you know the part,
I'm listening to go all right, I know her as
a friend, but I don't know her as like what
is his character going to do? And this a lot
of these stories are before her and I were friends,
So it's some stories in there.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
Yeah, I mean you hear her voice. Stories.
Speaker 4 (48:57):
It's wild. It is wild. The cab and the gun,
that the cabin, the.
Speaker 3 (49:02):
Dumb I don't wait, but you know it happened.
Speaker 4 (49:06):
But it's entertaining.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
You know, we always talk about women getting cheated on time.
Have you ever been cheated on?
Speaker 20 (49:12):
I mean, you know it's it's a two way street.
I mean I've cheated. I've cheated on some and I've
been cheated on and oh I love to see him
see it now. I like that's when I do take
pride and being like any check that cheated on me,
Like what you what you're doing now?
Speaker 2 (49:33):
I'm petty like that, I'm petty.
Speaker 20 (49:36):
Have you ever walked in or No, I've never walked in,
But I mean I've seen I've passed someone who I
was like I asked her if she was kicking with
him and then passed him like pulled up to a
light and then they're in the car again.
Speaker 4 (49:48):
I have I have seen that being like I thought,
y'all didn't know each other.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
And what did you do? Hello?
Speaker 4 (49:53):
I mean it's one of those.
Speaker 20 (49:54):
Like real like you look over and they look over
like damn like that that like that gets very different.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
Yeah, I did have that would hurt little feeling.
Speaker 4 (50:03):
Yeah that was rough.
Speaker 15 (50:04):
Yeah you can tell you know.
Speaker 4 (50:05):
Right there you go. Oh, I lost both of y'all.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
Yeah, it's hard to lose your best friend.
Speaker 15 (50:10):
I mean I was seventeen, so it was good. It
was hard. I didn't trust people for a long time.
I didn't trust people dating them and friendship wise, which
sucks for me because I love people and so that
one really hurts. I was like, how do I come
back from that? But that's that's what I know in
my life, to reset your life, and that's why that's
where my character starts.
Speaker 3 (50:30):
Right all right.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Comedians Michelle Buteau and Ton Bell are here with me today.
New show Survival of the Thickest is on Netflix right now.
We have more with them when we come back. It's
way up with Angela Ye.
Speaker 3 (50:40):
What's up? It's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
I'm Angela Yee and Michelle Buteau and Tone Bell, comedians
I'm Survival of the Thickest are here with us today.
I'm going to ask you this too, Tone, because I
saw an interview that you did where you talk about,
you know, becoming successful, right, but people automatically assume as
soon as you get on TV that you made it.
So I want to ask you at what point where
you lie like okay now and what people thought it was?
Speaker 20 (51:02):
Michelle in Cluton, they always called me cheap like last
couple of years because I just kind of lived like
I didn't have it or like that, you know. I'm
just like, I don't know if it's gonna be a
flash in the pan, or am I gonna have a
career at this?
Speaker 8 (51:12):
You know?
Speaker 20 (51:12):
So you just kind of like I was like stacking,
and I never grew up with none, so it was like,
let me just see if this's gonna work out. And
then a couple of years ago I was like, oh,
I think, I think I'm gonna be good. And then
I just started, you know, investing in doing doing my things.
So now I feel like, oh I can breathe a little.
Speaker 3 (51:26):
Bit, Like what kind of investments.
Speaker 6 (51:27):
Do you do?
Speaker 4 (51:28):
The property? It's not a ranch, it's a wrench.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
At what's the difference.
Speaker 4 (51:33):
It's a baby wrench.
Speaker 3 (51:34):
Okay.
Speaker 20 (51:35):
This is why we didn't talk for a minute, like
maybe like two years, she you know, telling me where
she lived now, and it's kind of I'm like, I
got to step buck.
Speaker 13 (51:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 15 (51:42):
Once I had kids, I was like bye everyone, yeah,
and then I came back. And then I came back.
Speaker 4 (51:48):
I mean it was roads firing, you know to me
from what y'all did.
Speaker 15 (51:50):
So, oh yeah, we got a place in City Island,
which was exactly exactly like I am from here. Never
even heard of it in the Bronx in the Bronx.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
I know where City Island is, Yeah, where you go
to get to that.
Speaker 15 (52:00):
It was something over thirty seafood restaurants, and everybody is
I've been in the Bronx one diabetic.
Speaker 1 (52:07):
You know, it's so funny. I've been there twice. I
don't eat seafood. That's why, Oh my god, you should
not go to the island.
Speaker 5 (52:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:13):
So, and that's the point, right, It's like Vegas.
Speaker 20 (52:19):
It's like straight up neon signs from crab and horses
and everything.
Speaker 15 (52:23):
Yeah, this is a place called Sammy. So, like, if
you're doming a press there, you should definitely touches. He's
gonna send two undred dons.
Speaker 3 (52:29):
A guy took me on a first date to City Island.
So she didn't say no. She did like, no, I
tell you what happened.
Speaker 20 (52:40):
I would sometimes I prefer go ahead, you I do
in between November and February.
Speaker 4 (52:46):
Give me that warm hand.
Speaker 3 (52:47):
That means you know, that means you also like that.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
I always assume the guys that enjoy that also like
a little further back.
Speaker 4 (52:54):
Don't be assuming out here.
Speaker 23 (52:55):
Really it is true because they didn't say no, no,
He did not say okay, yes, all right, So.
Speaker 3 (53:09):
Yes, you didn't say yes. He just said I'm nast
Yeah that means yes. Okay, we'll go back to the
story bout. So no the problem. This was the only date,
but it's gonna you guys know, Angela, come on. It
was something about.
Speaker 1 (53:22):
Him that as soon as he came out of the
house I just didn't like him. Okay, So I still
went on a date, but its just nothing. Ever, we
never went out again after that.
Speaker 15 (53:31):
What was he wearing?
Speaker 3 (53:32):
That's why I didn't like?
Speaker 1 (53:33):
Okay, so he came out, he wasn't ready and he
came out and he had on some very small track shorts.
Speaker 3 (53:38):
And he went and changed.
Speaker 1 (53:40):
But that vision just stayed in my head and I just,
for some reason this didn't He's.
Speaker 3 (53:44):
A guy though.
Speaker 1 (53:44):
But we're talking to Michelle Buteaux and Tom Bell from
Survival of the Thickest on Netflix.
Speaker 10 (53:49):
Now.
Speaker 1 (53:50):
I loved the two of you together though, as far
as just working on this show and both of your
individual stand ups like hilarious, and I always can appreciate
that right because it's very it's intelligent, it's relatable, you.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Know, it's funny to me.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
So for me to be able to, like I said,
I Binge watched. When they sent me the access to
be able to see it, I was like, I hope
it's not just one episode I'm getting because after I
finished the first one, I definitely wanted to see more.
And so, like I said, I was up late last
night because I didn't even get home till ten thirty.
So I ended up watching like four episode.
Speaker 15 (54:20):
Yeah, what were you doing last night?
Speaker 3 (54:22):
I was out.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
All night when I came home and watched a survival
of the Thickest.
Speaker 15 (54:30):
Oh, that's the perfect evening you guys. Honestly, just play
with the watch my show.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
Yeah, and I like it because also we're a little
rawnchy too, and I feel like sometimes that's taboo.
Speaker 15 (54:40):
Yeah, which is ridiculous because we're all going through and it.
If you're not, then you should live life a little bit,
you know what I mean. Yeah, absolutely, go hook up
in the back to the taxi. See what happens. Just
remember that you got gum in your mouth.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
That's all I'll say. Well, no, honestly, thank you guys
so much.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
You know, we really appreciate you guys for coming through
and honestly, like congratulate. It's really really amazing. I love
to see things that I feel like represent us. And

me today and we're are you ready to get some advice?
Speaker 3 (57:44):
Ask you?
Speaker 1 (57:44):
Eight hundred ninety one fifty is the number? Hey Ben,
how are you?
Speaker 9 (57:48):
I'm good? How are you today?
Speaker 3 (57:49):
I'm good? Thank you? We're ready to hear your question.
Speaker 5 (57:52):
Me and Loopy okay?
Speaker 26 (57:54):
Cool. So I have a fourteen year old daughter and
her mother just passed away last month. So I'm now
get a full custody of my three children. Thank you,
I appreciate it. I'm, you know, a proactive father. So
I'm going through her bags and stuff like that. And
once I open her bag and look to see what
you side. It's adult sex choice and she's fourteen years old,
and I had to take a second to think about
(58:15):
it because I know myself personally I was sexually active
at thirteen. So am I wrong to discipline her? Am
I wrong for doing this?
Speaker 9 (58:21):
Ode of her bag?
Speaker 3 (58:23):
And LUPI you have an eleven year old, I have
an eleven year old. Just to be.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
Clear, Yes, I want to say a couple of things
about this. First of all, I know it's not going
to be easy for you now having to deal with
that loss but also raising three children.
Speaker 3 (58:35):
So I commend you for that, absolutely, thank you, and
I hope you have a good support system.
Speaker 1 (58:41):
But I want to say a couple of things before
Loopy chimes in a you never want to make your
children feel ashamed about anything. So I don't know about discipline,
right because you don't even know in what way she
got them? You want your child to feel like because
I know for me as a daughter, and I think
about what I was doing when I was fourteen years
old and how didn't really have anybody to talk to
(59:02):
about things like that. It would be great to be
able to be there because they also lost their mom,
so at a time like this when I'm sure they're
just as confused. There's a lot of information out there
that they're consuming way more than we had to when
we were growing up. It's really important that you're there
to be that educational. Don't be ashamed of anything. Whatever
it is that you need to talk about. Let's discuss
(59:24):
this and tell me what's your feeling. You know how
you're feeling. Where you got these from. Yes, you're allowed
to go through her things. She lives in your house.
She's fourteen years old. That's your child, and you want
to make sure you know what's going on in their life.
So you didn't do anything wrong. You could have found
it by accident while you were cleaning something out, trying to,
you know, maybe do something with the bag or whatever.
The point is she should not feel ashamed for that
(59:46):
and for having these items, but you should find out
why she has them, where she got them from. And
to me, it means have you had to talk with
her yet about sex?
Speaker 26 (59:55):
So it's a bit of a complicated situation. My kids
with their mom for the past years, and I'm literally
since their mother passed away on the twelt the last
month is when I got custody of my kids. She did,
you know, make it extremely hard for me to have
the father and daughter relationship with you know, oldest daughter
that I had before. So she's got an image created
(01:00:16):
by what was given to her already about myself and
my wife because of course I'm married to you know,
another woman, so you know, and her mom was you know,
she never kind of let go of the past.
Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
Is there anybody else that your daughter is close to
that she can talk to as well?
Speaker 26 (01:00:32):
So I'm working on getting her therapy right now. This
morning I woke up. She hadn't been asleep for three days,
is what my daughter's telling me, you know, headache, stomach things.
I feel like she's had an anxiety and stress of course,
you know, because she had to step in and be
the mother role for her, you know, younger siblings. So
it's a lot. My kids, they weren't even in school
(01:00:53):
for like the past two years.
Speaker 9 (01:00:54):
They haven't even gone to school.
Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
She's fourteen, right, Yeah, this is tough.
Speaker 26 (01:00:58):
I've never been to a dentist.
Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
Yeah, you listen, you have a lot of work ahead
of you. But I know you're up for it. I
could tell y, yeah, and you have to be patient too, write,
But I think the main thing is these kids have
just gone through a lot, and you're acknowledging she's gone
through a lot. I think it's great that you're going
to get her the therapy that you can tell that
she needs.
Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
And I think also for you to.
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Learn what you need to do, so that means maybe
you guys are doing therapy together as well. At times
she should go alone, but you should go with her
so that you guys can get all your emotions out
on the table. You can learn how to do things
from an experts point of view in ways that you
may not have even thought of before. But I think
for you to both acknowledge that it is going to
be a long road ahead, but it can be a
(01:01:40):
really rewarding one also, And I would also say, like
I reiterate, do not make her feel a shame. There's
not a discipline that needs to take place here. It's
more of a I love you. Let's have a conversation. Yeah,
it can bring you closer.
Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
Through tough things.
Speaker 26 (01:01:58):
And the good thing is that she said that she
did one to go to therapy. She made it clear
that she doesn't want to talk to anyone that is
her family.
Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
Okay, so that's fair.
Speaker 26 (01:02:07):
Yeah, all of my kids, I feel like over the
last couple of years, they've been damaged so bad. My
daughter's been molested, my son's been molested, you know. So
it's like they're extremely damaged and it's been done to
them by family. So it's like, I don't want to
talk to family about what's wrong with me.
Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Okay, So whatever you can do to be supportive and
just let her know that you love her. When she's
ready to talk, let's talk. But since she does want
to get that help, I think that's great. Least let's
fast track that I want.
Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
I can't wait to hear an update on this, Yeah please, Oh.
Speaker 26 (01:02:33):
Yeah, I'll definitely be calling you guys back for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):

are going to chime in on this as well. So
thank you so much for calling us and think with
that absolutely.

Ye, I'm just calling in for the topic on taking
girlfriends and stuff like that. I'm gonna just make it short.
It was this one dude. He was cheating on his girl.
He found out when I called her phone. He then
went into saying, Yo, stop calling my girl, and you
never got a chance. This, that and the third. I
just kept it short with him and said, yo, listen
to me. Man, I heard you a bad dude, and
(01:05:35):
you better kiss a goodbye. He then told me, yo,
you you could try. You know, good luck with that,
and I said, mark my words, I'm gonna take your
girl out of fight. And sure enough, not only did
I take his girl. Were still together to this day.
We've been together for about four or five years and
we had a kid. Homeboy, you're sick.
Speaker 8 (01:05:54):
I want to shine a light on my boy.
Speaker 18 (01:05:56):
The loopy slagger, God bless you, shaf on your things
on your boys, Andy blancole from the Bronk.
Speaker 16 (01:06:03):

went out with a friend. We were trying to date,
and the X showed up and she left me.
