and you know.

and two ninety two fifty one fifty is a number
you can always leave a message and we'll play it
at the end of the show in case you couldn't
get through. And when we come back we have your
yee t. Let's talk about gee herbal and his guilty plead.
I know you know him tell us, so we'll discuss
that in yeet when we come back. It's way up,

(05:42):
it says in the.

Speaker 7 (05:43):
Rooms from industry shade to all of gossip out sending
Angela's speeling that.

Speaker 6 (05:48):
Yet what's up?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Its way up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yee.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
I'm Angela, yee. My girl Tella is.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Here with me age, not the little one, and we are.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Doing yee all right, straight from Chicago, like you gee Herbo.
According to report, he has entered a guilty plea in
his federal wire for Our case in Massachusetts. He of course,
along with several others, has been accused of using stolen
credit cards and IDs to make personal purchases. It was
about one point five million dollars and this whole entire
ongoing scheme. According to the Chicago Tribune, he will likely

(06:22):
face a sentence in the two to three year range
due to federal guidelines, so his plea hearing is tentatively
set for July twenty seventh.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
He was charged back in December of twenty twenty.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
By the way, I.

Speaker 8 (06:36):
Hate to hear that, I know, right, one of my
favorite rappers from Chicago and one of my favorite people.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
H So we'll see what happens, you know, with that
whole situation, and he has pleaded guilty, so I know
they look at that, it's like, okay, let's maybe they
work some things out behind the scenes, maybe restitution maybe.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
So maybe he just did it just to you know,
so he ain't got to face a harsher penalty.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
And part of it, yeah, that's true too, because sometimes
you're not guilty, but you just say you are. But
they're saying it was also partly to fund his career,
and I guess that part worked.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Out well, you know, all right.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Finesse two times is wanted for allegedly not returning a
rental car to a Houston enterprise. He was supposed to
return the truck on March tenth, and it's an Infinity
truck that's valued at seventy two thousand dollars, but it
never made its way back there. A month after the
vehicle was due back, there was a ten day demand
letter that was sent by enterprise. They said they spoke

(07:32):
with him on the phone on April twentieth, and he
said that he was having some issues with his zell
and then he would send the money in the following days.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I don't know, you could sell money to enterprise.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
The employee said they needed the car returned immediately, and
then it wasn't returned still, and so it was then
reported stolen, and they ran the license plate and they
said eventually found it in Houston, but the original plate
was switched out with a new one.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Dang, all I'm gonna say is it's cool when they
do it.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
What does that have to do anything?

Speaker 5 (07:59):
Sho, there's a problem he knew.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
His name is vaness Hey two times Okay, all right
and Jessica White on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, I
was talking to Safari and she was talking about her
relationship with Nick Cannon. She said that she had an
agreement with him. Listen to what was said, Are you married?

Speaker 3 (08:18):
I was in an eight year relationship, so I'm kind
of getting out of that cheating not cheating love or
like polyamorous. I wasn't allowed to have other partners. But
he was, are you move No, I'm just very submissive.

Speaker 15 (08:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
So, and they had an agreement, right, And you know,
she did post that Nick Cannon was upset that she was.
On Love and Hip Hop, she's talking to Safari in
that clip, by the way, and he's dating Amara Lenegra,
but not exclusively. Amara Lenegra had done an interview with
bet dot Com and was asked about their relationship, and
she said, Safari and I have always been friends. We

(08:56):
went there were ups and downs at one point, but
we've always been friends. And it was the people, the
fans that brought us together. Everybody kept saying that we
were dating, it should be together. Then we were like,
you know, why not, let's try, let's just date. So
we're currently dating. We're testing the waters. We're not in
a solid or exclusive relationship or in the process of
hanging out well, you know, And I think part of
that is you also want to just I think if

(09:19):
everybody's honest and open, yeah, and you agree to whatever terms,
then it is what it is. Yeah, you've been in
relationships before when you know people are dating other people,
it's not exclusive.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
She also has twins.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
You know, she's out of another relationship, so maybe you
also want to take your time Yeah, getting into something new.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
Yeah, she you know, you found the streets still, who
is whoever?

Speaker 4 (09:44):
You can do what you want to do, all right,
And Snoop Dogg and E forty have a cookbook coming
out together. They partnered to drop their first ever collaborative cookbook.
It's called Goon with a Spoon.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Oh okay, sounds dope.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Yes, and so according to people, that cookbook is is
it's the same company that Snoop used to publish his
first cookbook, and it's gonna be this one's gonna be
released on November fourteenth, with sixty five over sixty five
different recipes to choose from, and you'll get to get
some elements from Snoop and from E forty from their
music for the sake of each meal.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
So Goon with the Spoon, I know.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
That's why. Maybe you could take one of those recipes
and cook for me? How does sound?

Speaker 1 (10:24):
No?

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Okay, why don't you cook for me?

Speaker 5 (10:26):
Oh will? I've been waiting on it.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Okay, no problem, we can do that. And I can't cook,
by the way, I just want to put that out.
I know you can, all right, Just put in ata
and E forty, by the way, has some amazing wines
and stuff. Why why is our producer shaking his head?

Speaker 12 (10:40):
Now?

Speaker 5 (10:41):
You don't E've never have my cooking, right, that's the
thing we want to have it.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
That's Jasmine. If Jasmine was here, she'll let you know
that I can cook and she eats my food.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Okay, Well I don't know why, y'all. I don't know
why y'all think I can't cook. Okay, all right, Well, anyway,
that is your yet. And when we come back, we
have about last night. That's where we talked about what
we did last night. I was actually after the show
shopping for a bed.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
I don't even want to talk about what happened, but
we'll discuss it and about last night. And I saw
a lot of people going to see the Barbie movie, yes,
and dressing pink. People were coming all done up. But
we'll discuss all of that. It's way Yea put Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Yeah, last night.

Speaker 7 (11:19):
So about last night, last night, last nights.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
I went down yeo. It's the way you put Angela yee.
I'm Angela yee. And Chella is here.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
I'm here's your girl, Cella.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
And so right now we're doing about last night. So
while you're in town from Chicago, you've been hanging out
with me. We've been outside, we've been outside, and so
the one thing you needed to do right yesterday, you
were like, I need to go get some clothes. I
needed to go to this place that I'm getting a
bed from. You know, I have this house and this
is a nightmare for me. But I've been I bought

(11:51):
this brownstone almost three years ago and I've been trying
to get it rehabbed and it has been such a nightmare.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
But fortunately I have a good contract.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
And now I've had all kinds of issues with people
that I've hired to do things for this house and
paid money to, and people not living up to their responsibilities,
and dealing with the neighbor that's always trying to call
the police and sue and it's been terrible. But yesterday
I was going to check on this bag because I'm
getting like this custom bed made for myself, something that's

(12:23):
been in motion now for like two years basically. And
we were testing out mattresses and let me tell you
to Nchella is so dramatic.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
So we went in there. First of all, she fell asleep.
It was the mattress.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Yes, so you fell asleep on the mattress and you tell.
And then she told the guy it fixed her shoulder.

Speaker 8 (12:44):
You know what, I wasn't capping like, it was just
like laying in it. It was so soft and it
was like when I was laying my shoulder was like
going into the mattress versus being on top.

Speaker 5 (12:55):
It was crazy.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
So I want to talk about that, right, because mattresses
are really important.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
I've come to learn that's true.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
If you've ever bought a mattress and been like, I'm
gonna just get this cheap mattress is one hundred dollars
whatever on the clearance and then you can fill the
coils in it, because that's definitely happened, and then you
realize I can't do this.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
Let's talk about the price of the mattress.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Yeah, the one that the one that Teller fell asleep
on was the most expensive mattress in the store. Now,
for clarity, that's not the one that I would get.
But this store, these mattresses have been around since nineteen
oh five, right right, it's called Savoir, And that mattress
you fell asleep on is one hundred and twenty thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
Yes, more than a house. I was crazy.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Yeah, So that's that, just that one particular mattress. I
think that not a lot of people in this world
own that mattress.

Speaker 5 (13:46):
But all the mattresses was super high.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Yes, but it fixed your shoulder. So basically it saves
you some money in the long run.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
I don't need a new world to you a cuff
no more.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Right, because you know how uncomfortable it can be when
you're on a mattress that just you can't sleep in.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
And sometimes you go stay, like.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
Say at a hotel, and you're like, oh my god,
this mattress feels so good and so amazing. And so
these mattresses are made of like natural materials. It's like horsetail, cash, mirror,
it was super.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Lambs, whooa, all of those things.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
But I do want to encourage people when you are
buying a mattress, make sure you go to a store
and test them out, because for myself personally, like I've
been a mattress firm all of these places, and I
will definitely test out every mattress knowing what feels best,
you know, for your body, because you do spend a
lot of your life in bed, that's right, and you
want to make sure that it's comfortable.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
So that was just one thing I wanted to talk about.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
And then after that we went to get something to
eat and we went to one of those dining movie theaters,
but really just to eat not to actually see a movie,
and people were going crazy to go see Barbie Man.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
They were stressed up to you, couples in all and.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
They had the huge Barbie box that you could take
a picture inside of. But this Barbie stuff has been everywhere,
Like every store you went to Zara.

Speaker 5 (14:59):
That's why found out the way everything was Barbie.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
It was all Barbie stuff inside of Zara, like everywhere
we've been going. At Bloomingdale's Aqua, they have a whole
collection that's all Barbie stuff. Everything is Barbie. But you
love Barbie, so I feel like that's perfect for you.
Gotta pink Maserati.

Speaker 8 (15:14):
Yeah, I love I like Barbie, but I ain't just
like super obsessed with Barbie, but I'm super obsessed with pink.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
Okay, so I love pink. So my car is like
riding out the whole Barbie way.

Speaker 9 (15:24):
All right.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
I like it, good vibe.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
But we'll talk more about that later. But right now,
we want to talk to you guys.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Another thing that we did yesterday was talk about this
Carly Russell story, and we've been following it non stop,
and we want to talk about because we're gonna have
some updates, some exclusive updates for you later today.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
But we want to talk.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
About the biggest lie you caught somebody in man. Okay,
you know y'all be out here lying all right and
getting lied too, But have you caught somebody in a
huge lie? Call us top eight hundred two nine two
fifty fifty.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Sometimes all you can do is laugh. It's way out
with Angela ye, I'm.

Speaker 6 (16:02):
You ride a way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
It's way up with Angela Ye. I'm Angela yee. And
Sheella is here with me.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
It's your girl, La, yes, And we're talking about the
biggest lie that somebody has told us.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
This all comes out of Carly Russell.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
You saw it looks like she was lying about being
abducted and her boyfriend deleted all the posts.

Speaker 5 (16:25):
It's crazy about her.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
But for me, the biggest lie somebody ever told me?
And then Tella get yours ready.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
I dated this guy and when we first started dating,
he had a son and his son's mother was pregnant
at the time, so he told me that she was
in a whole other relationship. She was pregnant by somebody else.
So fast forward, he ended up getting arrested and she
called me like oh, why he don't I need some
money for some pampers. I was like, why is your

(16:54):
Sunday pampers?

Speaker 15 (16:55):
He's you know.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
She was like the baby and I'm like, he don't
have a baby with you. She was like, what, yes,
we had a baby.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
So then I asked him about it and he told
me it was his brother's kid, that he just didn't
want to bring it up.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
But his brother was sleeping with her two so.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Then you know, long story short. I ended up talking
to his brother and his brother was like, what why
is he lying? It turned out it was his kid,
So he had two kids but lied to me and
tell me that it was his brother's kid. And he
also had another child that he never told me about
that was older.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
I guess to do that.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
They always try to throw the other female under the bus.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
I want to say, you have brothers though, like she said,
what you and your brother?

Speaker 18 (17:29):
Right?

Speaker 3 (17:29):
What about you?

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Man? The list is long? Let me see, let me see.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Yeah, that was just when I couldn't figure out which
one I got so.

Speaker 8 (17:35):
Many, so many people just be laughing for no reason.
Let me say, okay, okay, cool, So a certain someone,
a certain someone recently kind of reason said that they
was single mm hm, and you know they was just
ready to go all in and you know things of that, right, So,

(17:58):
come to find out he was in the whole household,
living with somebody else.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
Living with somebody else, whole situation.

Speaker 8 (18:06):
And then I end up finding out because we ended
up getting on the phone talking about everything. So he
kind of went into hiding, and eventually what's done in
the light came to the what what's done in the
dark came to the light, and I found out the truth.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
And the truth was he was living with so he
got a whole other situation.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
Yeah, and just didn't know how to keep it a hunter.

Speaker 8 (18:27):
And the thing is when you honest about things, whether
it's little bad, it's best that you be real, right
you and the.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Ben inside piece, No, I'm playing, I mean it depends,
you know. Well, let's hear your guys stories. Eight hundred two,
nineteen fifty fifty Rio.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
How are you?

Speaker 9 (18:43):
I'm good, I'm.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Good, thank you, And of course tell us here we
want to hear about the biggest lie you cut somebody in?

Speaker 9 (18:51):
All right. So it was one of my exors from
years ago, and we lived in dating for a while,
so you know, it was kind of consistent of that
point time. And she told me, so, when you get off,
don't come over because all of a sudden, I'm about
to go around spars with my mom. I ain't think
too much of it. I'm like, all right, cool, just
call me letter on you know, up later. So something

(19:13):
told me to go ahead and go see mom real quick.
So that's what I got. Mom. I see a kind
of drives. Well maybe they got back early.

Speaker 12 (19:24):
So I called her.

Speaker 9 (19:25):
She don't answer, So I'll pull up, you know, I
knock on the door. Mom answered the door. I was like, hey, mom,
so and so here. She was like nah, she had
like this look on her face. I was like, did
y'all did anything you needed from a story? Did you
have to get the bag or anything? Why I was
I ain't left the house all. I was like, all right,

(19:48):
I don't worry about it. Well, just let her know
I came back. I see you letter. She's like, all right,
so you know you don't want to eat hungry right now?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
No appetite, no appetite.

Speaker 9 (19:58):
What's the other.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
So what happened after that?

Speaker 9 (20:01):
Well? I killed loft and you know, I called her again.
She still didn't ask her.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
You know why she was and I know why.

Speaker 9 (20:08):
I know exactly why. So I called her best friend.
Best friend told me where she was at.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Mum. He's like a detective, he was doing anyway.

Speaker 9 (20:17):
Well, no, you just got I'm like a detray top.
You just gottay. You everything you need to know, you
go to the right person. No investigation she needed. Okay,
she was like she had to go pick up her son.
I'm like, okay, that's what's up. I was like, you
know what how she was going over there from nine
this morning?

Speaker 5 (20:35):
Damn Okay.

Speaker 9 (20:40):
But the whole thing was that bud even situated where
she had to know a lot about like that your
child's father or whatever. But yeah, that's why I stopped
dealing with women who had kids, because it was.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
Just the story unless the kids is growing right, well.

Speaker 9 (20:53):
You know, yeah, I'm not that old. Your kids growing
probably not gonna work.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
All right, Well, thank you so much. They left him
scarry later.

Speaker 8 (21:05):
But you know, she was doing what she wanted to do,
and you was doing a lot, you know, going to
the mama house, going to the friend house.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
You know, like he knew what it was. Yeah, yes,
it is what it is, Hey, trash.

Speaker 9 (21:16):
Yeah, what's that easy?

Speaker 19 (21:18):
It's me and hey, yeah, let's start.

Speaker 12 (21:21):
Let's something.

Speaker 9 (21:21):
What's up?

Speaker 12 (21:22):
Yee?

Speaker 9 (21:23):
You take a third time from ten am to nine
fifty because I started working at ten the night calling.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Okay, we'll make sure we take your car right in early.

Speaker 9 (21:33):
I want to tell you all about a lie that
I caught my expend.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Okay, tell us.

Speaker 9 (21:38):
So when I was about to break up one time,
he started crying and soff and this man told me
that he had cancer, right, and I'm sitting really believing
he had cancer and stuff. So I'm talking to his
mom one day and I'm like, well, you know, I'm like,
you know how you see been to the doctors with
him and stuff?

Speaker 19 (21:56):
She got doctors for what?

Speaker 9 (21:59):
I can't if you ain't got no cancer? Lied? Wow,
he had cancer?

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Why would he lie about having cancer? Trap?

Speaker 9 (22:08):
Because he's a liar, Yo, he's cry of the make
up stuff. So nobody will leave him. He gonna kill himself,
and we're blessed them. I'll be doing in his life.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
And then you feel bad though, because when somebody says that,
you're like, it's something happened, right, you know, you be
feeling like, man, I should make Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
People do that, they be trying to get you to stay.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
Yeah, I had a few, say.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
You did, thank you, Trev.

Speaker 19 (22:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
That's nothing to play with either when people say that
like y'all gotta no yeah kay ebany.

Speaker 19 (22:40):
Hey, Angela, I listened to y'all every morning day.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Tell us here and listen. So tell us about the
biggest lie someone ever told you.

Speaker 19 (22:50):
Okay, this dappen in.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
The relationship of club, your team, that would tell me
none and then stil we got together the way y'all.

Speaker 15 (22:57):
Kind of trying out. This guy been marry, he's telling
me about none of this tough now, and he's been gay.

Speaker 19 (23:05):
Come to find out who the gay?

Speaker 6 (23:07):
Messing with a lot of guys, no females.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
But god, wait, so he was married to a woman
for twelve years.

Speaker 11 (23:14):
Noo, he's been with me for twelve with you for
twelve years.

Speaker 15 (23:17):
But he never tell me about the wife until we
got together.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Oh my gosh. And so how did you find out
he was messing with guys?

Speaker 14 (23:26):
It's just kept on.

Speaker 11 (23:27):
Being with woman ones and woman's and everybody kept on
telling me, telling me that, and they'll come to find out.

Speaker 15 (23:34):
Come to find out, he is messing guy been around
a whole bunch of guys, no female, no knocking, And
I've been trying to get out of this relationship.

Speaker 9 (23:43):
But he won't email alone to keep on.

Speaker 12 (23:46):
Being with me.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Wait, are you stay away?

Speaker 15 (23:49):
Yes, but it's not nothing like that. We don't sneak
together that, nothing like that.

Speaker 11 (23:54):
We don't do none of that.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
So you are with him, but you're not sleeping with him.

Speaker 5 (23:59):
No, Like what's going on.

Speaker 9 (24:03):
I'm not reading to move one.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
I'm ready for you, all right. So yeah, it's a
new day. Thank you for colin you all right.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
Well, a lot of y'all been lied to, and so
have I, and so yeah, I got so many big
lies I couldn't even think of which one to tell
me to up here when we come back.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
We got your yee t though, and let's talk about
ice spice.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
She did an interview with Apple Music one, and she
talked about a lot of different things, including, of course,
Nicki minach, it's way up at Angela.

Speaker 6 (24:42):
Ye Joe's about to blow the lid of off this spot.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
Let's get it.

Speaker 6 (24:46):
Angela's feeling that.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Yea te Come and get the tea, all right, it's
way up at Angela.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Yee I'm Angela yee and is here.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Not the little one?

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Okay, and we're doing ye t let's talk about ice.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
She did an in depth conversation with Zaane Lowe on
Apple and here is what she had to say about
meeting Nicki Minaj, who is her mentor you know she
is does have a deal with Nicki Minaj.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Here's what she said.

Speaker 20 (25:11):
I was like at her studio and she was like
doing her glamor and stuff. And then I was nervous.

Speaker 18 (25:16):
But I was like, I was like nervous to get there.
Once I got there, I was like, Okay, I'm chilling.
But then I heard her like say something, and then
I got nervous, and then she started. She came out
right yeah, and when she came to me, she hugged me.
I started crying because just the journey, like, you know,
I love Nicki and like meeting her was great and everything,
but for me it also just mostly felt like this
is a full circle.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Moment, all right. In addition to that, she talked about
some advice that Nicki Minaj has given her.

Speaker 18 (25:43):
I feel like I am like absorbing advice from her
and like learning from her and stuff. And she'll tell
me like, you know, learn from my mistake, like you know,
do this or like don't do that or whatever. And
I just really pay attention to what she's seeing, because
if there's anyone I'm gonna listen to, it's the Queen.

Speaker 6 (25:58):
Yeah, you need mentors in this space.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Listen and tell her. I feel like that's how you
are with Trina. Yeah, you know, because you've alway talked
about how much Trina is.

Speaker 8 (26:08):
Yeah, she does look out and I try to be
like that for the girls that came after me as well.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Right, that's an important thing to be able to do now.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
She also talked about Drake and if you guys recall,
people felt like Drake was trying to come at her
when he said she's a ten, trying to rap as
good on mute, right, And so she responded and on
social media at that time and said at least I'm
a ten, and then she put the shrug in emoji,
and she did say there was no issues between the

(26:37):
two of them.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
They spoke, they're all good, you know, they were all
kinds of rumors. Well, here's what she had to say
about Drake and Drake giving her advice.

Speaker 18 (26:44):
We talk all the time, and like we're always like
just laughing about some things that like go on and
like I'll ask him what should I do with this?

Speaker 20 (26:53):
Or like how'd you go about this? Or like did
you ever experience that?

Speaker 12 (26:56):
I know?

Speaker 20 (26:57):
Tell me like I did this and like you should
do bad too because you can, and I'll be like,
you're right.

Speaker 6 (27:04):
He gives great mental energy.

Speaker 20 (27:06):
Yeah, I know, he really does.

Speaker 18 (27:08):
All right.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
She also did announce that she's releasing a deluxe edition
of her Like EP with four brand new Ice Spice songs.
So that's going to be coming out tomorrow. That's what's
up for you guys to check out. Yeah, so that
should be pretty interesting. Yeah, all right now, Damon Dash
he recently he's been doing a lot of press lately,
and he recently talked about uh Aliyah. If you guys

(27:31):
would call Damon Dash, did you said date Aliyah? And
he said that jay Z and Aliyah actually were a
little bit competitive as far as trying to get her attention.
Here is what Damon Dash had to say on that
That's Fed Up podcast.

Speaker 17 (27:47):
What Aliah was like every time I saw her, she
looked different. So she had different looks every time, and
I was like, is that? And I realized it was Aaliyah,
and then I just threw my hair game and then
you know, I guess Jay was trying to get out
of her as well.

Speaker 6 (27:59):
I didn't know.

Speaker 17 (28:01):
I got brought up and I was like both of y'all,
but it never worked out for them, and we were
both like trying to get at her, and I kind
of eased up, but then we ran into each other.

Speaker 6 (28:09):
It's a long story.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Wow, I wonder, yeah, because well.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
I saw a lot of people in the comments talking
about Aliyah and her age and all of that and
how young she was at the time. And you know,
people also don't necessarily like everyone talking about Aliyah after
she's not even here to talk about her side of
the story. But exactly at least it doesn't feel like
it's disrespectful in any way.

Speaker 5 (28:33):
It sounds like everybody had shola for Wilsaw.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
All right, Well that is your yeaete, And when we
come back, we have under the radar. These are the
stories that are flying under the radar. I know we're
going to talk about Carly Russell today and we actually
coming up in the next hour do have some exclusive
updates from the scene, so we'll let you know more
about what's happening with Carl Russell. She's the woman in
Alabama who went missing and was returned home or did

(28:59):
return home herself. And now there's been all these press
conferences about what really went down, and I see a
lot of memes about the situation. All Right, it's way
up at Angela Yee. Under the radar is next news.

Speaker 7 (29:11):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (29:17):
Its way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee, Andella.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Is here.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Loah case and let's do these under the radar stories.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
Now, this is a story that my friends and I
have been sending back and forth to each other on
social media.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Punch made dev all right.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
He has a song called wire Fraud Tutorio, and in
that song he details how to do wire frauds, scamming,
all of that good stuff.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
So, yes, here's part of that.

Speaker 6 (29:44):
I'm going to show y'all how to hit a bank.
Just paying attention. This is a quick way to jig
in any state. First, you want to get a bank
clock from a trust to site.

Speaker 9 (29:49):
Do your research because the information must be right.

Speaker 6 (29:51):
You got to be on point.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Don't be sitting around trying to get hot hit a
big play.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Don't get book for a pettyes call? Do they got
Verizon today? Work with sprints.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
You gotta know that if you want to hit this link,
you got to call it to a company of syswats out.

Speaker 6 (30:01):
You can get the phone calls or text message that
they get you need this. You can log in with
the code, but before you do that, make sure that
you'll do this wrong. Let me find out that show.
Don't should to log in through the phone. You gotta
change the location into their home.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
Oh not a good idea to do something like this now.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
According to a series of messages that he shared, he's
been his video has been removed from YouTube al right,
He said, my YouTube video was wrongfully removed. My video
wire for tutorial was solely a re enactment to educate
the viewers and how to protect themselves from fraud.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
He was saying it too fast. I couldn't even get
all the details to write.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
It down and try to learn from them, Oh, how
to not get how to not be a victim of fraud?
Because I felt like you were trying to tell you
how to do it.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
But he did ask him to please reinstate his video
and YouTube responder, Hey, there, thanks for the information.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
We passed this along to the support team.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Unfortunately, this is beyond our reach as the video was
specifically requested to be removed from outside sources. And then
there was another law enforcement email that came through. This
notice is to inform you that we receive legal process
from law enforcements seeking information about your account and produce
data as required by law. And so, yeah, it looks

(31:14):
like there's some legal ramifications here.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
Now, what happens to freedom of speech?

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Well, you know, you can say what you want.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
That don't mean there's no repercussions exactly afterward, right, freedom
must be you could say anything. Yeah, but what happens
after that? Hey, we can't help you. Now, you wouldn't
have to do fraud. However, if you won the one
billion dollar powerball jackpot and those numbers have been drawn,
by the way, so somebody won, right, Yeah, let's say

(31:41):
it that. Yeah, so I don't know what's going on
right now, but.

Speaker 8 (31:48):
I I know it wasn't me exactly. I need to
find his Instagram or her Instagram somebody else. You know.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
People always talk about would they take the payments or
would they take the lump sum, because when you do
the lump sum, they take so much in taxes, but
we have to. But if you take the lump sum payment,
you also have the opportunity to make a lot of
money from that money, so you can invest it and
make way more than you would make if you were
saving on those taxes. So good luck to everybody out there,

(32:14):
and if you won, let us know, we'd love to
get to know you better. Okay, all right, well that
was you're under the radar stories. And when we come back,
we do have the way up mix.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
It is a Thursday, so you guys make sure we
know we all are getting ready for the weekend. So
we'd like to start partying on Thursdays.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
Okay, it's time to be out site.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Yes, it's Friday Eve.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
Also, we have a really, really amazing guest joining us
today from Ghana, but he's on tour in the United
States right now.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
He was in New York.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
I think he's still going to Ohio, Chicago. He's got
a bunch of other days coming up.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Soccer Day. Sock, yes aka Sock, is.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Going to be joining us, and he's got a lot
of things happening in his life. But I love the
fact that he is about to be really open and
transparent about a lot of it. Sometimes he does feel
like he's guarded and doesn't give too much of himself.
But today he's got some things that he needs to
clear up, get off his chest, and of course some
amazing music and a Twitter promote, so we'll get into

(33:13):
it with him. It's way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 10 (33:16):
She's like to talk like they Angela Jean, like they Angela.

Speaker 6 (33:19):
Jee Man, She's spilling it all. This is yet way up.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Yeah, it's way up with Angela Ye. I'm Angela Yee
and Shella is here with.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Not the lower case hm, not the lower case at all. Okay, baby,
So shout out to our guy Gabe Pee.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
He has an interview coming for on the radio on
the Radar Radio with Drake and Central C So that's
a big deal.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
To have that sit down.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
I know he's excited to finally be able to announce that.
And Drake posted it to a little exercise on an
off day me and uh he put Sench.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
On the Radar Radio loading that's what up, Yes it is.
We love these.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
Exclusive interviews, all right. Travis Scott is going to be
dropping a new single today. I don't know if it's
out yet, but he announced that it's going to be
a track with The Weekend and Bad Bunny's called Lollipop
and so it's supposed to be out this evening, so
get ready for that. Is everybody is waiting for Travis
scott highly anticipated album, his EP Utopia. There's all kind

(34:26):
of drama with this Utopia. Yeah, I heard, are you
a Travis Scott fan?

Speaker 8 (34:30):
I like Traviscott. I recently met him at LA and
he hosted a party. He was DJ and it was
lit all right.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
We love to hear that, all right.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
And Beyonce has announced her first new perfume in almost
ten years. So while she's doing this tour, why wouldn't
you right, Why wouldn't you want to smell like Beyonce?
So she's making her return to the fragrance world. The
first time she had out of perfume, it was in
twenty fourteen. It was called Rise and so now this
new perfume, all we know about it is going to

(35:00):
cost one hundred and sixty dollars. It's going to be
available in the United States and Canada as a Beyonce
dot Com exclusive, So get ready for that and you
can go on there on her website and it will
notify you when the perfume is available in your area.

Speaker 5 (35:14):
I gotta get it. I had all her old ones.

Speaker 11 (35:16):
Oh you did?

Speaker 6 (35:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (35:17):
I love Beyonce and how perfilms?

Speaker 4 (35:19):
All right now, Bousy, a fan was caught sneaking onto
his property. First of all, we do not condone trespassing
because you never know what can happen when you trespassed.
But she actually wanted to be his chef, and so
she wrote in the caption I risked it all. I
just trying to cook for you, boosy. And here's the
video they posted.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Hey, could we right up?

Speaker 5 (35:39):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (35:40):
Could we right up?

Speaker 15 (35:42):
Really?

Speaker 3 (35:43):
He is not supposed to be his job. Oh man,
I'm sorry, man, I'm sorry man. We saw you looking
put your hand up.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
We thought we could.

Speaker 6 (35:52):
I say, oh, I know, man, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
I'm getting out of here.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
Please.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
You cannot just go on somebody's property. And lastly, I
want to shout out my girl her. I absolutely love
her as an artist. And people are talking about the
fact that she is approaching egot status that would mean
that she would have Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and all she
needs is a Tony because she already has the she
already has the other accolades. She already has an Emmy,

(36:18):
she already has several Grammy, she already has an Oscar. Well,
starting today, she's making her Broadway producing debut here Live's
Love opens today and so if this gets her a Tony,
she'll have an egot.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
What's coming?

Speaker 4 (36:32):
I feel it, Yes, and she's so young too to
make all of that happen. So that is now on Broadway,
So shout out to her. This is her first time
behind the scenes for a musical production. She made her
musical debut she played Bell in the live television Beauty
and the Beast of thirtieth anniversary special. Now she's behind
the scenes as a producer. So congratulations. Let's make sure
she gets that egot status. And that is your yet.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
Now when we come back, I promised you guys that
we would have an update on Carly. So this story
is has, by the way.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
Been quite entertaining to watch us things and fold. It
took us through a whole rollercoaster of emotions.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
For real, had me stressed out the first two days.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Yes, you were stressed out. We all were. We were like,
what happened? We got to make sure they find her.
I was following this story.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
She came home, she was traumatized. But now it looks
like they're saying the whole thing potentially is a hoax,
right ye always line and my girl Ebonie Steele, she's
actually from Birmingham and she's out there right now and
she's reporting for several different outlets and she's gonna come
back and give us the update on what's happening in

(37:37):
Birmingham with Karl Russell. So Ebanie still is going to
be joining us next and she's gonna give you some
information you haven't heard yet.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 6 (37:46):
You ride a way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
All right, it's way up at Angela yee. I'm here
with my girl Tella h And we got Ebonie Steele
on the line. What's up, Ebony.

Speaker 19 (37:58):
Too? My friends are ala.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Man, listen.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
I appreciate you so much because right now you are
in Birmingham, Alabama.

Speaker 19 (38:06):
Right, yes, I am.

Speaker 4 (38:08):
And you've been following this Carly Russell story, so I
know this is something for you that you have some
inside information on Wow this we're gonna call.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Her Carlie Russell or we're gonna go with Carle Hustle, because.

Speaker 19 (38:20):
That's really what's happening right here.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
And I'll tell you here, the tone in Birmingham is
really an odd one, right, the Oupiute of Birmingham and
who over Alabama where there has been racial before. And
so when this black girl went missing, people in Birmingham
a look like, Okay, what y'all gonna do? Right, But
then when the president came out and when the news
yesterday with what really happened, you know, she said that
she was a dust on the side of the road

(38:44):
after she was following a baby for the length of
six football field and then add in some injury. When
they asked her what color was the baby, she said
the baby was white.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Okay, wow, welcome exactly.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
But during our action, she blocked her boyfriend, So we
now know that this has something.

Speaker 9 (39:04):
To do with a man.

Speaker 4 (39:05):
Okay, so her boyfriend was blocked, and then when she
was allegedly abducted, she unblocked him exactly.

Speaker 19 (39:10):
Okay, they're gonna get your computer.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
She has been looking up whether it's an amber alert,
does it cost to have an amber alert? Is there
an age limit for an amber alert?

Speaker 3 (39:20):
And the movie Taken.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
She also was Google and how to rob a cash register?

Speaker 19 (39:26):
And he's the other piece of odds. She worked at
a spom so one of.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
The things she stole from her job was a robe
and toilet issues. M h, well, when you're go missing,
they're gonna come to your house to try to see
what's missing that she has to leave. So in my mind,
allegedly that's why she got the rope and the toilet
is isause she didn't.

Speaker 19 (39:46):
Know how long she was gonna be in those woods,
that she was never finished in sea.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
She said, oh my goodness, this whole thing has been
a mess. But what it's hard for me right as
a black woman. We know how they cannot care. There's
so many young black girls who are missing, so many
black women who go missing, and there's no noise about it,
there's no uproar. Now here's a situation where there was
a lot of noise being made. There was a lot
of media attention on it, and then the whole thing

(40:10):
was a hoax.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
Allegedly it was a hoax.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
And to make it even worse, a young lady who
lost her life. She was missing for a couple of
months here in Alabama, Anaya. Her mother got a group
of people come came together to Birmingham and walked through
the woods to help this lady look for her daughter
when her daughter was never really missing.

Speaker 19 (40:31):
She was actually.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
Allegedly spot at a red roof and that's what they
think that she may have been for those.

Speaker 19 (40:35):
Forty nine hours.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
Oh wow, I didn't know all that. Now are they
saying that they're going to press charges right now? It's
still allegedly, right, because we don't do we know one
hundred percent that this was a hoax, because I know
you can't necessarily say it is until it's one hundred
percent proven.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Well, it does smell of Jessie Smolette.

Speaker 19 (40:53):
I feel like we've gone smoletted.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
On this, right. But the facts are the facts, because
the facts that we're given were what they caught on camera.
From what I understand, she's a nursing student that had.

Speaker 19 (41:04):
Been bunking out of school, been having a hard time.
Her boyfriend broke up with her to be with somebody else.
And here's the deal.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
After she called nine one one, she allegedly called her
sister in law. I believe that sister in law was
her boyfriend's sister, and she's like, oh.

Speaker 19 (41:20):
She then broke up with Carrol, what's going on? Where
are you? And I believe she came a pict her
up from the side of the interstate.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
In my mind, allegedly and took her to the red roof,
and then that's when they had to get their story
together before she.

Speaker 19 (41:33):
Arrived home on foot with only a cut lip and
a hole in her shirt.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
A part of me, I will tell you is I
think that this may be a case of little mental
illness and has a little breakdown.

Speaker 19 (41:47):
In state. She went to Target and bought some snacks.
She looks at the place where she knows the cameras
are on they're gonna see her feel this, you know.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
And I think it just all went wrong. And what
if she did see a baby, what if she was hallucinating?
She said that was a white man with orange hair.
I don't know if that was Donald Trump, but.

Speaker 4 (42:09):
I mean, but you know what, though, Ebany, she might
have also not thought this was going to get this
much attention, Like maybe this was something that she thought
would be you know, I'm trying to get my boyfriend
and you know, get him to be a listener. And
I did not know this was going to spiral out
of control the.

Speaker 6 (42:26):
Way that it did, exactly right.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
So that's why I think everything was pulled off of
the internet because the attorneys are going to.

Speaker 19 (42:33):
Have to come up with the case.

Speaker 9 (42:34):
We do you have the FBI?

Speaker 3 (42:38):
Do you have any sympathy for her at all?

Speaker 1 (42:40):
I do have sympathy for her if it is a
mental illness situation, something is seriously wrong. I have more
sympathy for those people of the city of Birmingham who
gave to her gofund me, who were crying for her,
who have followed this all forty nine hours that this happened.

Speaker 19 (42:58):
That's who I really felt.

Speaker 8 (43:00):
From the looks of it. I saw the interview with
the parents. Did it look to y'all like the daddy knew.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
Like this is a bunch of Yeah, because you got
to kind of go with it.

Speaker 5 (43:08):
Still, Yeah, I saw that.

Speaker 19 (43:10):
I think it's a mother trying to protect her daughter.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
Or not.

Speaker 19 (43:14):
It is one thing, but you know, I know if
I call oh, mom, I'd have made a mistake.

Speaker 9 (43:18):
What should I do?

Speaker 5 (43:21):
Protect your chat?

Speaker 3 (43:22):
But I also want to did an interview at all?

Speaker 1 (43:24):
No comment, right right, and that's why they're looking at
the parents too, because they were told to wait until
after she was found.

Speaker 19 (43:33):
To do an interview. They were so anxious to do
it and allegedly got paid a pretty.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
Penny for it.

Speaker 4 (43:37):
WHOA, Okay, well these are all allegations, Ebanie. Still, thank
you so much. I really do appreciate you for being
on the ground and letting us know all of the details,
because there's a lot.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
Of things I've been seeing, but I like to hear
it from you firstend.

Speaker 19 (43:50):
Congratulations on all that you are doing.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
Girl, let me hold something well, thank you, thank you,
Eban All right, anytime? All right, Well again, that was
our update of what's going on with you know, Karlie Russell,
her quote unquote disappearance for forty eight hours in Alabama,
and Ebonie still is from that neighborhood, so she definitely

(44:13):
is out there right now reporting live from the scene.
When we come back, we have Soccer Day. He's on
tour right now in the United States. He's from Ghana,
and he's got a lot of things happening, and he's
going to be really open and transparent and the way
you've never heard him before, it's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 6 (44:31):
Yeah, she back at it. Bring the way up with
Angela Yee is on.

Speaker 4 (44:37):
Yes, it's way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And my little Barbie friend Chella is here. It's your girl,
Chella h And we are getting ready for this Barbie movie.
I saw it already, and I know you're saying you
want to see it.

Speaker 9 (44:50):
I do.

Speaker 5 (44:51):
I still want to see it, all.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
Right, So I have some Barbie trivia for you.

Speaker 4 (44:55):
And this all has to do with the famous Mattel
doll and things that have happened for Barbie throughout the year.
So first question, Cella, what is Barbie's full name?

Speaker 8 (45:07):
What is Barbie's full name? Oh, Barbella Barbiana, Like, I don't.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
Know Barbara, Barbara Milicon Roberts. I should have known, Barbara
Millicent Roberts.

Speaker 4 (45:19):
I should have know, all right now, when were the
first black and Hispanic Barbies introduced?

Speaker 19 (45:23):
What year?

Speaker 5 (45:26):
Nineteen sixty fourth?

Speaker 3 (45:33):
Fourth? It is nineteen eighty is when they were first introduced.

Speaker 4 (45:39):
Barbie's were actually launched in nineteen fifty nine, so twenty
one years later is when the first black and Hispanic
Barbie's all.

Speaker 3 (45:45):
Right now what who was Easter Ray's La Pink Carpet
look inspired by Okay, I know that I know that
you're from Chicago.

Speaker 8 (45:54):
You should Chicago's own OH Block in Michelle Obama.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Obamas from Michelle Obamas from O Block.

Speaker 8 (46:02):
Yes she is, she's from Okay, all right, anything got
to do with Chicago, Cella nos, Okay, you're like that much.

Speaker 12 (46:09):
I do know.

Speaker 4 (46:10):
All right, Well good, you did get one right, and
you got the one right that you were supposed to
get right.

Speaker 3 (46:14):
So thank you so much for playing with us.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
And don't forget to see Barbie in theaters tomorrow this Friday.
Get your tickets on fandango. Now it's way up at
Angela Yee and when we come back, we have from
Ghana Soco d joining us. He's on tour right now
in the United States and you're gonna love this interview.
It's way up at Angela Yee. Y Hey, she's back
at it. Bring in the way up with Angela Yee

(46:38):
is on What's Up? It's way up at Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee and Sheella is here guests hosting with
me from Chicago. Hey, I'm here, I'm here, and we
have a very special guest from Ghana. Let me say
his name right, Socco Dad. Soccer Dad, but we're gonna
call you sorry for the rest of the interview, but
welcome to Way Up At Angela Yee and I appreciate

(47:00):
having you here. You have such a huge following. Some
people would say that you are the biggest artists from Ghana.
I don't want to say that, but some people would
say that yes.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
Because you're very humble.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
You're also the first artist from Ghana to reach a
million subscribers on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (47:15):
That just happened.

Speaker 3 (47:16):
What is your secret to connecting with people the way
that you have.

Speaker 13 (47:20):
I think I came in a game by default through
the back door, meaning I didn't come through media really
because I was trying to like literally come as a
commercial artist and have my songs on the radio. But
that didn't happen because the type of music I was
doing at the time was not what was happening at
the time. It was like super commercial high life music
that was dominating, and I was rapping on sometimes kicks

(47:42):
without no baseline, so I had to take to social media.
So that's when I built a following, and I also
used to do rap battle on the Ragio station in Ghana.
So that kind of like builds my followers.

Speaker 4 (47:55):
And to this day you're still independent, right, Yesith that
is a amazing for you to have accomplished, just even
the international superstardom that you have being independent.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Now let's get into the media.

Speaker 13 (48:07):
This.

Speaker 3 (48:08):
The most recent song you put out is called try Me.

Speaker 12 (48:12):
Now.

Speaker 6 (48:12):
If I thought I was going to be.

Speaker 13 (48:13):
On this wave because I was ready to take a
couple of things to my grade fast off.

Speaker 4 (48:16):
Look, I cannot believe you did that because I feel
like you try your hardest to not engage in like
even doing press. But in this particular situation, you've had
to address things that have been said about you. What
was your decision and making this song? People are calling
it in this song and it is harsh. I'll say
that because it hurt my heart when I was like, ooh,

(48:37):
I would hate for somebody. I would not want to
go back and forth with Sark on a situation like this.
But what made you decide this was the move that
you were going to make As far as addressing this
book where it was referenced you had made a woman
have an abortion.

Speaker 13 (48:52):
The reason why I didn't do no media Ronald press
around it is because there's such an energy I hate
to feed into, especially speaking about it, because I might
lose my cup. So I'm not going to sit here
and say I'm super proud of everything. It's just in
the moment how I felt, whether be in my truth,
there should have been a way that you could upset it.
That's why I don't like to speak about it. But
because people know the sock doesn't speak, people think they

(49:12):
can say something and no sock is not going to
speak of it.

Speaker 2 (49:15):
It's gonna get away with it, you know, So once
in a while, you.

Speaker 4 (49:18):
Know, you just let them poke them in, yok them.
Because I'm the same way if people talk crazy about me.
I don't like to address things because I feel like
it gives it way more life and I see people
do it all the time, and instead of me engaging
in it back and forth, I'm like, you know what,
go ahead, I'm gonna just keep on doing my thing
and not let anybody knock me off my square. But
this time you said you not only it wasn't a

(49:40):
line or two, So I want to know record, who
did you let hear this first? Was anybody in the
studio with you.

Speaker 13 (49:47):
But funny people think my team is in support of
what I did or did the record. None of them
knew I did the record because I was on tall.
I'm actually on tall when it happened, and sometimes when
I feel something, then the lyrics is going to come
right there. So I sneaked into the studio to even
record this. I didn't let nobody hear it because I
didn't want to hear no advice. I just literally want
to do what I felt at that point. Yeah, and

(50:08):
faced the consequences later on. But it wasn't like the
whole team sat down and said this is good to go.

Speaker 3 (50:13):
They probably was like, what are you doing? I can
imagine those phone calls and message a.

Speaker 13 (50:17):
Lot of phone calls in the heat of the moment.
The person that I didn't hear from, which normally she
would have been the first person to hit me as
my lawyer. Early morning, I was like, I was trying
to tease her and I said, Mama, see so don't
you care about what's happening because you would hit me
up and see what are we doing? But the sad
news said she was dead at the same time. Yeah,
so just I see two takes go. I didn't hear

(50:38):
of course she would respond like within five minutes. It
took hours and then I heard she.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
She's no more. So very very tough time within that show.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
I'm so sorry to hear that.

Speaker 13 (50:52):
She would have been somebody who I know wouldn't endorse
that situation of how I wanted to handle it. But
I will get to a point where I can speak
really about it. I think it's still it's still fresh
that I still want to process it before I can
really speak, you know, And this.

Speaker 4 (51:05):
Is something that happened year, like a really long time ago. Yeah,
we're talking to SARC all day and it felt like
somebody leaked it first. Yes, and so maybe you didn't
even intend to put it out. Okay, that's what I
was thinking.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
So I have like two three people.

Speaker 13 (51:19):
I don't want to suspect you know, it's going to
create some energy because I was I did it just
to hold on to it and see if I'm going
to release it.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
But then when it came out, I was like, let
me just let me just put it out.

Speaker 3 (51:30):
Has she responded at all?

Speaker 4 (51:32):
I have no idea if not, no, like has anybody said,
because I know your followers will tell you.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
I did it because I want to do it. I'm
not looking for a reaction, you know, I just but.

Speaker 3 (51:40):
You didn't even intend to really put it out either. Yeah.

Speaker 13 (51:42):
Yeah, so's looking out for it and trying to figure out, well,
who said what? I just said it and that's it.

Speaker 12 (51:47):
Now.

Speaker 4 (51:47):
I got to ask you this because you are married, right,
what did your wife say about all this? And did
she know in advance or did she find out what
everybody else?

Speaker 13 (51:55):
To be honest, I really still don't want to like
speak about that, but I think she just she handled
it that I didn't think she was going to be
able to handle it. You know, she was cool about it.
She cared more about how I was feeling, which was
that's great. Yeah, she was like if I was good
because I was on tour, that was hair. Worry about
how I was feeling.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
And you've been doing some amazing collapse so you like
Chicago artists too. That's how I was like, Oh, tell, yes.

Speaker 5 (52:18):
How did that come about? I was saying, you had
some stuff with Chance and Vic.

Speaker 13 (52:22):
Yeah, so started with Vig. He's gone in so he's
one of the few people that wanted to put his
people on. So I saw it earlier on he mentioned
my name on a big platform here in the States.
I was like, and we never met at that point,
that's dope. Yeah, So I don't know how we met officially.
I think through somebody we met a beautiful soul, a

(52:44):
great person. It goes beyond music, and I like that.
We had a great time. We drove around town and
we made music. We showed the video. Then through him
our linked type of Chance and he also came down
to Ghana.

Speaker 3 (52:55):
I remember that.

Speaker 13 (52:56):
Yes, I think Chance tweeted at me when I want
the BT best international flow and I told people to
come to Ghana and then he said it's definitely.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
Looking out coming.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
You know people did go to Ghana. By the way,
we were just talking about that whole Ghana fest. Yeah,
Now were you there when you were there? When that
when everybody was there?

Speaker 1 (53:15):
Right?

Speaker 9 (53:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (53:15):
Because Christmas, Every Christmas, I have one of the biggest shows.

Speaker 3 (53:18):
In That's how we're going. Yet the Chip to Ghana plan,
all I know is we see the videos with the
boats and that's crazy video. You need to get there.
And the movies.

Speaker 8 (53:28):
I was just telling you about the movies like a
Netflix addicted to all the movies.

Speaker 13 (53:34):
Wow, Wow, It's a beautiful spot to come to if
you want peace and security, wife, if you don't want
to care about walking out at night and not nobody
bothering you. That's Ghana, you know, and we love people
coming from elsewhere to our country.

Speaker 2 (53:50):
We really know how to host. So a lot of
a lot of your people are still staying there.

Speaker 13 (53:55):
They don't want to come back since yeah, you know,
they bought properties out there. Don't want to come back
because the peace out there is crazy.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
All right? Well, Socco Day is joining us.

Speaker 4 (54:04):
It's me and Tella eight and when we come back,
we have more with him straight from Ghana on touring
the United States.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
Up at Angela, ye, you've rather.

Speaker 6 (54:13):
A way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
What's app is way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (54:17):
I'm here and my girl Sheella is joining me from Chicago,
and of course we are talking to Socco Day from Ghana.

Speaker 3 (54:23):
So what was wife like for you growing up?

Speaker 13 (54:26):
I grew up with my mom, four siblings including myself
five in a city called Tema. Then I was taken
to Acra, which kind of like built.

Speaker 6 (54:37):
I think.

Speaker 13 (54:37):
To answer the first question when you asked about the
garden thing, I think it started from when I had
to live with somebody that I went through like seious
hardship with the person, and it's kind of like, as
much as I love speaking about it, I still feel
like the person didn't know better, So me speaking about
it now, I still think about how they feel because
I didn't have the best experience with them. But I

(54:59):
also kind of like I understand that they didn't know
better at that point, but then that doesn't take away
from the fact that it happened exactly. So that created
the whole laid back and watching stuff and not getting
involved in too much and watching life from this perspective.
So stuff that I say in the music, if you understand,
I speak about stuff that I have in experienced.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
But I like to observe a lot, and that created
this this persona So yes, it was. It was a
tough beginning. I didn't know where mom was, didn't.

Speaker 13 (55:25):
Know where Dad was, and I was staying with this
person and I had to go through like serious hardship
to be able to So that's where I developed writing
and it turned into music, you know, because I just
needed a way to speak about what I was feeling
and I wasn't too much of a friends type, clique
type of person.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
So it was a good therapy for me.

Speaker 4 (55:44):
Sometimes our haidships is but make us really who we
are today too, because if you think about it, you
wouldn't have been writing and doing the things they to
do if you didn't go through what you went through
to be able to.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
It was meant to tailor make you.

Speaker 13 (55:56):
My dad was not around because I was supposed to
do something and probably maybe if he was around, it
might not be this way.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
Right.

Speaker 13 (56:05):
So now when we had a heart to heart conversation recently,
which I love him for even stepping up to help
the conversation, I still said thank you to him because
that situation created the circle that you're seeing today.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
How did the heart to heart even happen with your dad?

Speaker 13 (56:18):
So my mom spoke to my dad saying that I
am disappointed in him and I'm waiting for an apology.
I never said that, right. So now I see my
dad at my house at the door. I opened him like,
it's all okay, But you said I should come to that.
I said no, I didn't say anything. So your mom said,
you said that you wanted to have a heart to

(56:39):
heart conversation. So that's how come it happened. My mom
just set that up so we can have a conversation.
And when you started speaking as much as as a child,
I was like thinking about what could have been right
by way he was speaking. I said, Man, now I
could I'm not going to justify what he did, but
I can't understand just that.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
Maybe you dealt with it in the wrong way, but
I get it. It was easier for me to speak
to him now.

Speaker 4 (57:02):
Yeah, we're talking to socoll day and you have a
special type of Bob Marley affinity as well, so talk
about that too.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
Yeah, that call came in and I didn't believe it.

Speaker 13 (57:12):
You know, when I rap and I say I'm going
to do a song with bout Mali, that's that would
sound like a joke, like you're just trying to be funny,
you know, So for that conversation to start, I didn't
believe it. In the beginning on to dissent the vocals,
I'm talking about the original vocals about Mali. This is
a legend. That's a classic song.

Speaker 2 (57:29):
Stare it up.

Speaker 13 (57:30):
And I was supposed to lay my vocals next to that.
It was overwhelming. Yeah, but I had my producers. They
gave us the creative freedom. It wasn't too much of
them trying to tell us what to do, so just
have the vocals and do whatever you want to.

Speaker 12 (57:42):
Do with it.

Speaker 13 (57:43):
It was the best situation that every artist could ask for.
So I had my people working on, my engineer and
my producer.

Speaker 2 (57:49):
I think we did two versions.

Speaker 13 (57:51):
The first version had English dominating because I was thinking, Okay,
it's going to go to this type of crowd. So
but then they came back and they said, no, we
told you things of your how proud you are off
your native thong, so we want more of that, and.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
That's what you guys are listening now.

Speaker 19 (58:06):
I love that.

Speaker 4 (58:07):
That's great feedback, yes, because that sometimes you try to
adapt to what you think people will like, But what
people like is who you really.

Speaker 8 (58:13):
Are exactly, and you seem to be real humble and
just got a great energy and just the way that
you just speak and everything.

Speaker 5 (58:21):
It's like, I appreciate it, and I like how you
speak on yourself and a third person.

Speaker 3 (58:25):
So Jella, you're gonna start doing that now? I could
already see it. Yes, yes, all right, well I love
to see it.

Speaker 4 (58:33):
And I am so appreciative that you stopped by because
I know you are on this tour, so it means

I'm good?

Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
Thank you? You got a question for ask ye?

Speaker 15 (01:00:30):
Yeah. So I recently had got into a relationship with
this girl and she I'm a single parent, and she's
been helping me a lot with my son. But recently
I just found her selling herself for ten dollars on
the internet and all in her phone and everything and
trying to go outside and knowing she's got a lot
of problems going on, but I still need a babysitter.

(01:00:52):
But I don't want to be with a cheetah.

Speaker 19 (01:00:53):
What should I do?

Speaker 6 (01:00:54):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
Now?

Speaker 9 (01:00:54):
Hold?

Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
So what is she selling for ten dollars herself?

Speaker 9 (01:01:00):
Like herself?

Speaker 6 (01:01:02):
Yeah, that's really cheap.

Speaker 3 (01:01:04):
Very that's for the law and like I mean, not
to not to shape, but ten dollars.

Speaker 15 (01:01:08):
And I was like, what, Yeah, it's given retail me,
not bogo, right.

Speaker 8 (01:01:13):
And somebody who will do something like that, no disrespect,
But do you even want them in a babysit.

Speaker 15 (01:01:18):
Not to be I mean, she's really she's really good
with my son.

Speaker 9 (01:01:21):
It's just I know that she's young, she's young.

Speaker 15 (01:01:24):
She's kind of.

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Angel.

Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
This sounds too irresponsible to honestly that she is doing
these things. And like you said, she's young in your house? Yeah, no,
I mean you should never want that person around your
child even Yeah, get rid of it, Yeah you gotta
let I'm sorry, but like you gonna have even in
the person, don't even matter the fact.

Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
That she's doing that, and you had no idea, who
knows what else she's doing. This is only what you
found out.

Speaker 9 (01:01:55):
Exactly exactly.

Speaker 15 (01:01:56):
And then when I kicked her out, she literally broke
my door or if trying to break in to my house,
all types of things.

Speaker 4 (01:02:03):
That is definitely not somebody you should have around you,
let alone your children.

Speaker 19 (01:02:08):
Period.

Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
Yeah, so I think you know what to do.

Speaker 15 (01:02:11):
Yep, all right, thank you so much, Angela.

Speaker 4 (01:02:13):
And angel we do have a gift for you if
you want it, okay, and your kids might like this too,
but we have a two hundred and fifty dollars gift
card and we also have a Hot Pink Barbie soundtrack
vinyl and that's from Atlantic Records for you.

Speaker 11 (01:02:26):
Oh, thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:02:28):
Okay, so you can use some of that for babysit
of money and you know, I don't know, but you
gotta clean that up.

Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
And for ten dollars, that's twenty five visits, that's twenty
five business with you. All right, hold on the line.
We gotta get your information, okay, all right, Frank, thank you?

everyone lies, You don't poop either, ill poop okay on

Speaker 5 (01:04:23):
When I came out, I just kept real. I said, listen,
y'all give it a break for you going there. They
say thank you for telling them.

Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
Tella said, then people, mad, I blew up the bathroom.
But we're having a good time.

Speaker 4 (01:04:35):
