collar greens with a yam dipping sauce.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
You said, soul roll like it's all rolled up and
it's all rolled in the one yep. So you got yams?
What else?

Speaker 7 (05:43):
I have fried chicken, chicken that's all rolled up into
one thing.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
It's all rolled up into a roll.

Speaker 8 (05:50):
And you got dipping sauce. This yam sauce that you're
dipping in.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
Yeah, pull up, brother.

all right, thank you.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
We went from shining a light on his wife to
being hungry.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Yes, that was shine a light on him, and let's
shine a light on somebody when we come back. In
yee t Jamie Fox, he addressed his hospitalization for the
first time.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
We'll tell you what he had to say.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I don't know why people have these conspiracy theories, but
we'll talk about it.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
It's way up at Angela yee.

Speaker 10 (06:36):
It says truth in the rooms from industry shade to
all of gossip out send Angela's feeling that EyeT, it's way.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Up with Angela, yee. I'm Angela yee. Jazzmine is here.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
What's up? Angela?

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Mano is here?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I am, and we are talking about your yee t
So Barbie. That movie has opened to a record setting
one hundred and fifty five million dollars. Is the worth
biggest box office weekend in history. Also, a lot of
people went to go see Oppenheimer. That made eighty million
dollars over the weekend. So people was outside. I want
to see Oppenheimer, me too, and Angela. You and I

(07:12):
saw Barbie.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Yes, we did, yep.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
And it was a beautiful, amazing movie, just the representation
of what it was. If you got all the metaphors
and messages from it as well.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
Yeah, shot very well. It also just looked nice, Yeah,
shot very well.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
It's a one hundred and forty five million dollar budgeted movie,
by the way, and they said there was a shortage
of the color pink because of this movie. And everywhere
I went it was like Barbie everywhere at stores, people
had special Barbie lines, Barbie takeovers.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Barbie shake takeovers at the strip club as well.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Are you serious?

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, it may not things.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Reporting from the scene.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Yeah, he's in the street sports.

Speaker 14 (07:49):
You know.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
They had a huge marketing budget too, Yeah, clearly, Mark,
they had a Barbie restaurant in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
It was it was amazing. So they did a great job.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
But then Mark, and there's a whole article about the
marketing plan behind the Barbie movie, so you can check
that out too, all right. But yeah, so congratulations to them.
They put a lot into it. We talked about it
a lot up here, and let's to go see it.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
All right now.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Jamie Fox has shared a message with his fans about
his recent health scare and about being hospitalized and why
at first he didn't address things.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Here's what he had to say.

Speaker 15 (08:22):
First of all, I want to say thank you to everybody.
Just pray man and send me messages. I cannot even
begin to tell you how far it took me and
how it brought me back. And I know a lot
of people were waiting, you know, or wanting to hear updates.
But to be honest with you, I just don't want
you to see me like that man with tubes running
out of me and trying to figure out if I

(08:45):
was gonna make it through. My sister did youdiction, My
daughter Karen re.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Saved my life.

Speaker 15 (08:51):
So to them, to God, to a lot of great
medical people, I'm able to leave you this.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
He also did discuss his family members was not we're
not revealing things to the public, which was not an
easy thing. Everybody wanted updates, everybody was trying to be
the person.

Speaker 15 (09:07):
All right.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Here's what he said about that.

Speaker 15 (09:09):
I cannot tell you how great it feels to have
your family kick in in such a way. And y'all know,
they kept it air tight. They didn't letting nothing out.
They protected me, and that's what I hope that everyone
could have in moments like these. Some people said I
was I was blind, but as you can see, eyes
working just fine, he set out paralyzed. I'm not paralyzed,
but I did go through I went to hell and

(09:31):
back and my road to recovery had some potholes as well.
But I'm coming back.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
I'm able to work.

Speaker 15 (09:39):
And it's you know, some people talking about I'm clone,
Well check this out, just kidding, not clone, man. But
I'm here on earth because of some great people. I'm
here on earth because of God.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Man.

Speaker 7 (09:50):
I know that's funny that because I've been seeing people
talking about what Jamie Fox is this and he's showing
two different pictures, the picture where he he was sick, right,
and then they're showing another picture. But the thing is,
what's funny about it is the fact that the new
movie up they cloned Tyron.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
They cloned Tyrone, Irony the Irony, All right, now, real
bust and Richie. There's some issues and that's because he
recently filmed a music video at Florida A and M.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
And now they're suspending the football program.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Oh, it's an unauthorized music video that was shot on
the campus. The university left a message on his Instagram
post promoting his video, and they condemned the release of
that video. There's a lot of issues though, and I
don't think that students know this. I'm sure real Bust
and Richie didn't know this either. But apparently, even though now,
even though the coach said, I'm a proud proponent of

(10:42):
free speech and support all forms of musical expression, they
also have a responsibility to protect the university's image. And also,
I think when you have the logos and the clothes,
you can't just put that, you know how they always
blur out logos sty so that's also an issue. And
the fact that it was unauthorized and they would have
never authorized that.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
By the way, well how did you get to do it?

Speaker 2 (11:02):
I guess you know they let him in and theybody, Yeah,
somebody did. And the teen's football players are in the
video too. It was shot in the football locker room.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
It's somebody.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
I want to see it. It sound lit.

Speaker 11 (11:13):
It does.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
I don't know how long you might have to hurry
up and go and see it.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
But he said the video does not represent our core
values nor our commitment to excellence with caring and all
aspects of the university. Okay, so go and listen to
those lyrics and watch the video while you can. All right, Well,
that is your yee t. And when we come back,
we have about last night. We all had a lot
going on over the weekend. I told you guys, I
went to go see the Drake twenty one Savage concert.

(11:37):
It's all a blur. I went to the last night
in Brooklyn. We'll all discussed what we did about last night.
It's way up at Angela yee.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
So about last.

Speaker 9 (11:47):
Night last night, last night.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Deza went down.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeo, it's way up at Angela yee. I'm Angela yee.
Jasmine is here.

Speaker 9 (11:54):
Yeah, I'm not just needing brand.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
I'm my own brand.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Mano is here? May do this weekend? About last night?

Speaker 5 (12:02):
I spent some time with my daughter. I took her swimming,
took her to the park, she played with bubbles. I
went to dinner. I had a just a mommy weekend.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
I love that for you, Yes, And I love that
for baby Rain, Yes, Baby Rain. What I like is
Jasmine sends me videos of her daughter doing different things.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
It's really cute.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
Yes, I send my friends lots of videos and pictures.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
It's cute. Dietary. Every time I'm like, look a little Rain.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
You never about you made good?

Speaker 5 (12:31):
No, I'm not.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
I went to Connecticut. Okay, to a birthday party.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I went to college in Connecticut.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Shout out to the Waterbury shout.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
Out to the whose birthday was?

Speaker 4 (12:46):
Her name was? What was her name?

Speaker 7 (12:48):
I'm sorry, okay, I forgot her name. They wanted me
to introduce her, introduced her. She walked and she came
in with this dance. It was just so crazy. She
was like the baddest thing on this earth. Right, I
know that's right, know, you know what? A couple of
people did say that, Okay, did she rip herself out
the plastic? She should have the way she stepped in there,
the plastic, that would have been funny, but it was

(13:09):
so funny.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
It was that I felt like I was getting like
rubbed on a lot.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
Oh, like a genie in a bottle. Zeus uh over
zealous ladies. They were a little touchy, touch, touchy feel
They were like, take it off, but I feel like
you enjoyed it. No, no you didn't. Okay, no means no, lady, right, yeah, that's.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Not a good thing to do.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
No one should be touching you, all right.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Well.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I was at the Drake and twenty one Savage concert
in Brooklyn at the Barclays it was the final night
of the concert.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
How was that? Was that your first time? Was that
your first time saying Drake?

Speaker 2 (13:45):
No, I saw him when he was on to Her
Future before. Also, I think I went to the Garden
for for that one.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
But it was good.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
I mean, I mean the set design, the young Drake
came out really looks just like him that after, like,
definitely looks just like his.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
An act that well, they said that that was act.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
It's a real person that gets on the stage. Yeah,
and people were definitely throwing underwear and bras on stage early. Okay,
he enjoys that. He loves that. And then yeah, so
that was that was my night. They dre has so
many hits. I feel like there's a lot of songs
that you won't see him do because he has just
too many.

Speaker 5 (14:22):
He has a lot of hits. Yeh, yeah, that was
one of them. Unstoppable I got to be unstoppable because
he sampled my girl sci Gold. Oh yeah, that's dope
all right.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Also over the weekend, I told you I have this
running club run with ye and we just relaunched it.
I had it before the pandemic and then we kind
of took a little break and now we have relaunched
the running club. So now I'm trying to get back
to running again because I enjoy it. Yeah, one day,
and y'all may not know this, but one of my
goals is to when they run the marathon.

Speaker 15 (14:51):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
So it's not going to happen.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
This November, but maybe next year I can do it.
Maybe I needed a half marathon first.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
You can do it.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
Have you ever ran marathon? So okay, hey, so that's
a goal. Maybe for twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Yes, okay, because I think I got it. I could
start now, but I don't think it's going to happen.
But so yeah, so my running club is back in effect.
I do it with Chelsea Pairs. Chelsea Pairs also exclusively
sells my coffee brand, Coffee Uplifts people. We have a
cafe in there and so we start at the Chelsea
Pairs Brooklyn location. We run to the coffee shop and
then back and then we have like free food and

(15:25):
tea and coffee for everybody.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
Do you have any suggestions for non runners like myself,
like how to get you know in there?

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Start? That's it? Like, honestly, first I could walk before
you run.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
N I definitely could get my walk on.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
I think the main thing about running is I know
people who have never run before, and once they start,
that's all it is is you start, you do a
little walk, a little jog.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Every time, you just just up it a little bit.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
So you never ran in your life?

Speaker 5 (15:51):
Yeah, I have. I just do not enjoy It's a
mental part for me as hard.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
I just feel like, maybe try to go outside because
sometimes a lot of times you run indoors and running
out side is different.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
Now I'm not afraid, I'm just not I don't have
the discipline to continue. Like I'm like, oh my gosh,
what this is over? I keep thinking that, Okay.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Gosh, yeah, put together a great playlist.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
That's what I need to do.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
School.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
You know what else really helps me? Like new running clothes.
You know, get you at the shop.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
So yeah, get like a new running outfit once you
start doing new sneaker.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Make sure you have the right sneakers.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
I do need to get some running sneakers.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yeah, and you know, take care of yourself and put
together a great playlist. That's what I need. And then
you're so distracted or do some work. Sometimes I listen
to podcasts I get ready for work while I'm doing it. Yes,
if you have a treadmill and you can have the
TV in front while you're working out, all those things
really help.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
Okay, thank you.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
We're gonna help you.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
We're gonna help Okay, run all right when we come back.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Tell us a secret. We're gonna help you here. Okay,
you get to call us up anonymously. We're not gonna
judge you, Mano. Eight hundred two nine two don't look
at me like that. Eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty is the number.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Call us up.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Tell us a secret. We're not gonna judge you. Eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. It's way up
at Angela freeze all.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Tell us the secret.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
It's way up. But Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee. Jasmine
is here.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
Yes, I'm not.

Speaker 9 (17:06):
Just any brand.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
I'm my own brand.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Maino is here. I know that's right, and we are doing.
Tell us a secret. This is Mainno's main reason for
being here. If you notice so, you say I only
come Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Yes, that's how you feel
for this, And yes.

the fact that you're not judging, but they like the
fact that I'm.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Well, let's see about that. Let's talk to some people.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Eight hundred two nine to fifty one fifty is a
number anonymous caller.

Speaker 10 (18:04):
How are you okay?

Speaker 3 (18:06):
I'm good? Thank you.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Now, Mano's here to see if you're a legend. Jasmine
is here. What is your secret?

Speaker 6 (18:13):
Well, it's a good secret. This weekend I flew out
to Detroit with my girl I've been with almost three
years and why she wasn't around, asked her dad for
a blessed for that to marrier.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Oh wow, you're getting mery, so what did her dad say?

Speaker 6 (18:32):
Oh he was sookey.

Speaker 11 (18:34):
He got the crime. I made me cry.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
I'm not sure, but you.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Know, oh that is so sweet. When are you going
to propose?

Speaker 6 (18:42):
Well, I mean my birthday next.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
Year, okay, your birthday to your birthday.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
Yeah, I want to do it for my birthday. So
it's a big thing because I'm taking that to beat
my family for the first time in person on my birthday.
So I'm gonna do it in front of my whole family.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
How long y'all been together? Well?

Speaker 6 (19:00):
Be three years?

Speaker 5 (19:02):
Okay, beautiful?

Speaker 3 (19:03):
When you know you know you hear that?

Speaker 16 (19:04):
Man?

Speaker 3 (19:04):
No, how did you know she was the one?

Speaker 6 (19:07):
Well, I was in a police and in my life
and I was actually going through a divorce and she
been down for me since day one. I mean, I
wouldn't be able to get back on my feet by
having this remarkable person.

Speaker 11 (19:20):
By my side.

Speaker 6 (19:21):
And I love her to death. I'm in love for her.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Okay, Well, congratulations. It must be hard to hold out
and wait a whole year to propose, though, because I'd be.

Speaker 6 (19:32):
Able to wait, yeah, I mean because I want to
make sure the money is right. I want to make
sure everything is right. But I know this is the
woman I want to be with for the rest of
my life.

Speaker 5 (19:42):
Beautiful.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
And that's good because you also set a goal for yourself,
right you know what date you're going to do it,
so financially you're like, okay, I got a plan for that. Yeah,
all right, well, thank you and congratulations Anonymous color.

Speaker 6 (19:55):
All right, thank you.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
See that's a.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Good secret, man, everything got to be That's nice.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
See that. That's the type of love I want to.
I want to. I want the type of love that
I know in twenty eights. I want that love.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
Okay, man, Oh my gosh. All right, all right, hey,
what's up, Anonymous Calor Haller, how are you?

Speaker 11 (20:12):
I'm good, Thanks for being here, Angela, that'll be sure.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Thank you. I appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Well, we're not gonna judge you today with whatever secret
you have, even though Mano's here and so it's jasmine.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
So can you tell us your secret.

Speaker 11 (20:26):
I'm proud of all of y'all. My secret is I'm
having sex with my cousin.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
That's weird. Oh my god, that's weird.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
It's your first weird, second cousin, third cousin.

Speaker 11 (20:37):
Third cousin third. Okay, she was related when we started.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Man, no, just OK, okay, he didn't know.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
So tell us how you guys met.

Speaker 11 (20:48):
My wife died in twenty seventeen, and she reached out
to me on Facebook. But she was married to someone
that had the same name as me. So I was,
you know, trusted who she was. But then when I
found out who she was, she started giving mesha.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
Did she just go from giving you information to giving
you Facebook?

Speaker 11 (21:13):
I don't know. Maybe it's my body. I'm built good.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
I don't know you sound like it.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
So this is your third cousin your Are you currently
having sex with her?

Speaker 11 (21:22):
Yeah? But it's bothering me, so I want to stop,
but she won't let me.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
Wait.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Is she your cousin by marriage? Because you said she's
married to somebody and you guys.

Speaker 11 (21:30):
My grandmother's knee.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
It's kind of close my great uncle's daughter.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Man, that's a cousin.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
Yeah's your third cousin.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
But that's a cousin.

Speaker 14 (21:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I don't even understand that branch of how it's related.
So apparently she did that. You let her. So, now
what's going on? Are you in love? What's happening?

Speaker 11 (21:48):
I think she's in love with me. I want to
move on because I have somebody that I love.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Okay, well you can move on, sir, nobody's you.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
You can't. You said you can't. You just got to
keep going.

Speaker 5 (21:59):
Yeah, have you talked about wanting to stop?

Speaker 11 (22:02):
Well, anytime I talked to about wanting to stop? My
householders erect.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
She lives with you.

Speaker 11 (22:08):
Yeah, she came from markets, so I'm connected. I had
to put on my lead.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
Dude.

Speaker 7 (22:12):
Wow, so that's still considered incense, right, I think? So
it's still we're not I'm just asking.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
It is definitely a tip. That's why it's a secret.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Yeah, it's a secret, but it's not a secret now, right.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
It is still secret.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
He's still a secret.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
But else she lives with you, and you guys are
in a sexual relationship.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
But you like somebody else.

Speaker 11 (22:34):
I'm in love with somebody else.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
You're not that in love, sir. If you're still having
sex with your cousin, this is he said he can't stop.

Speaker 11 (22:41):
Listen, I wake up and she's doing whatever. And when
you're in the flow, I mean, it's really hard to stop, gotcha.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Okay, Well, well thank you for sharing with us. Remember though,
your body your choice.

Speaker 11 (22:56):
Okay, exactly, And I'm very proud of y'all.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
You know, okay you I want to say I'm proud
of you too, but I can't. Good luck, good luck, but.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
I couldn't do it.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
All right, Well, that was tell us a secret. We
had a positive one and then a different one. Other
ones all right, eight hundred two nine fifty. Just in
case you couldn't get through. We always are here to
take your messages. And when we come back, we have
your yee tea. And since I did go to that
Drake concert, let's talk about Drake. Drake and CenTra Sea's
freestyle on the radar, also Drake and Elliott Wilson.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
What happened?

Speaker 3 (23:31):
It's way up at Angela.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
Ye sure, she's about to blow the lid ab off
this spot. Let's get it.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Oh yeah, Angela's feeling that yee te Come and get
to see what up.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
It's way up but Angela, yee, I'm Angela, yee. Jasmine
is here, Yes, I'm here, Mano is here.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
We're eating these cheese. Its puffed, puffy and.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
Era the puff just say it. But look at the
front of the bottom.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
These are whole grange.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
And these are healthier of cheese.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Its okay, we have all kinds of cheese. Its when
did they start out like this?

Speaker 5 (24:00):
We need to try the puff ones though for real?

Speaker 4 (24:02):
No?

Speaker 2 (24:02):
No, okay, all right, well let's get into this et now. Drake,
you know, has been on this tour. I actually went
to the show on Friday, and then I think he's
at the Garden this week. Right, So this is a
huge deal for on the radar. They have a Drake
and Central Sea freestyle. Here's a piece of that.

Speaker 17 (24:20):
You want to know the real meet girl. So you
want to see deep inside. If Choch has on the
out side back, you don't want to see him reach inside.
So we know some demon guys with yell us and
ebel eyes. You know that's how Jesus died. You know
that's how Julius Caesar died. I bet they were decent guys.
I swear they remind me of me. Sometimes I'm trying
to be under your breast, like teasing Rice. You never
get treated nice. Fool you once, that's fine, but you
look dumb if you're letting them repeat it twice. Two

(24:42):
hundred mill on the table. I hope I'm able to
get disagreement signed. Told you I needed time or really
the truth is I don't believe in time.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Okay, all right, shout out to gay p he's up
here too. Also for that on the Radar freestyle. I
like that where he actually has been getting some great
freestyles for that platform.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
Cent you see he was up there too.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
Yeah, central see he's from the UK, right, Yeah, that's dope,
all right, And if people are mad at Drake for
certain things right now. Elliott Wilson also called Drake out
for only doing interviews outside.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Of our culture.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
All right, So he had said moment of clarity, no
disrespect to little boat Yaddie's combo with the boy was
comfy and had some cool moments. I was more so
clowning the comedy Shenanigans with outsiders to our culture. It
would be great to hear Drake speak to us again,
even if it ain't me. And you know, Drake did
do a really big sit down interview with Elliott and
be Dot that was like four years ago. It has

(25:33):
over eighteen million views by the way, so that was big.
But Elliott, yeah, it was a while ago. So now Drake,
as you know, because Drake is petty, he went back
at Elliott Wilson academics had put up a clip on
Instagram of Elliott interviewing Trippy Red at Rolling Loud Miami,
and then Drake said, Lol, man ishall not come into

(25:54):
his platform for a second time, and now Elliott ten
too was doing Yes Jewels run up interviews at Rolling Loud.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
That the youth took over big Dog.

Speaker 5 (26:01):
Yes Jewels was called a stray.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Yes Jewels run Up Interviews.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
I did watch Drake's recent interview with that chick Bobby.
It was funny.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Ye can't pronounce the last name.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
That's why I just pointed to it.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
I think it's a off.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
She's very sarcastic off allfa no one can say it properly.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Probably okay, all right, So I mean, you know, I
guess she's a huge TikTok star has a huge following there,
and it was a different type of interview and people
got some moments from it and it had some funny moments.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Yeah, I think Ellie, it's random it.

Speaker 5 (26:36):
I think Elliott feels it feels a way when he
when certain people don't come to his platform.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
But he did.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
Also, here's the thing, you also did have a huge
interview with him and he sit down, he won another one,
he went, another one you will get I don't know.
I guess you just get one one and.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Done, man, even if it's not with him, Yes, yea,
he wants to see it done.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
And you can't blame Elliott for one another Drake interview.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Right yeah, like, oh no, you're not going to me,
but he said not even just him?

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Yeah yeah, so all right now.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Monica has issued an apology, which I don't think she
needed to do. But she was in Detroit at a
concert and she jumped into the crowd to confront a
man who she says hit a woman during her concert there.
Here's some of the audio of what was going on
while she was on stage, and she saw this happen

(27:25):
that well said, you don't hear an f and lady
like that, And she actually got off the stage, went
into the crowd and walked up to the person and
addressed him again. And then Monica left a comment on
the Shared Room. I apologize there and I'm apologizing here

(27:47):
for my actions, but no one would take action. I
was so triggered. I watched and she didn't appear to
even know him. It appeared to be about space during
a pack concert. He punched her with all his strength.
My intentions were to prevent her from being hit again,
and she wasn't. I asked for help. It fell on
deaf ears and she said, the woman is fifty plus.

Speaker 7 (28:04):
Oh no, no, I mean listen, no apology necessary, right,
we don't even want your apology.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
We liked that you stood up and did what you did.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
It is what it is that nobody did anything. She
called it out on stage.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
And the fact that that's crazy to me. Yeah, all right,
well that is your eye t And when we come back,
we have under the radar. These are the stories that
are not necessarily from page news. They are flying under
the radar, but we still know that they are very
important for you guys to know about. One of them
definitely affected me directly. Okay, it's way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Got news this in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Under the radar.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Yes, it's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Jasmine is here, Yeah, brand on my own brand, and
Mano is here, no man no, all right. And one
of the main things that I feel like we have
to always make sure we're talking about is what Florida
Governor rond De Santa has been doing when it comes
to approving a new curriculum for the African American Studies

(29:05):
program and public schools. One thing that is part of
this curriculum is teaching students that black people benefited from slavery. Okay,
now here is what Governor DeSantis had to say.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Your clarification on one thing within the policy, it says
instruction includes hw slaves developed skills which in some instances
could be applied for their personal benefit. Could you just explain, well.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
You should talk to them about it.

Speaker 10 (29:31):
I mean, I didn't do it, and I wasn't involved
in it, but I think what they're doing is I
think that they're probably going to show some of the
folks that eventually parlayed being a blacksmith into doing things
later later in life. But the reality is all of
that is rooted in whatever is factual, and if you
have any questions about it, just asked the Department of Education.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
That's so irresponsible.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Imagine saying that black people learn these skills as slaves
that benefited them.

Speaker 7 (30:00):
Later, forced to learn skills, beaten, killed, killed, great main
stolen everything, I mean, destroyed.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
I mean the fact that you can't across the board
even just acknowledge the fact that slavery was an atrocity,
a terrible thing to happen, that should have never happened,
but acknowledged that it did happen, instead of trying to
make it seem like, but you guys got really great benefits. No,
you know who got benefits from that America the slave holders,
the people that were the yes, not the black people

(30:32):
who were the slaves.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
All right, So Kamala.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Harris was in Florida, and she was in Jacksonville, and
here's what she had to say.

Speaker 16 (30:41):
This is unnecessary to debate whether enslave people benefited from slavery?

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 16 (30:49):
Are we supposed to debate that? Let us not be
distracted by what they're trying to do, which is to
create unnecessary debates to divide our country.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
I can't even believe that's a debate, Like it shouldn't
be nothing to talk about here.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
So odd, okay, And the fact that you can't even
just admit, like what we did was awful.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
I can't believe someone on his team didn't take him like.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
No, you should. You should believe it.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Because the curriculum that they're teaching anxiety.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
You should believe it. They raised this, and he's a
complete idiot.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
You imagine a young kid being like, well, you know
your family benefited from slavery.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
That such an irresponsible thing.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
If you want to teach things that are factual, right,
you have to acknowledge what you did.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
You can't try.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
To erase that.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
All right, Now, this affected me.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Netflix gained almost six million new subscribers after cracking down
on passwords sharing.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Now, y'all know, I was.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
On the family plan with my brother and then one
day I try to get on my Netflix and I
had to call him. I was like, Brian, my Netflix
isn't what I need you to. He was like, well,
you can create an account. I said, can you still do.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
It for me?

Speaker 5 (32:04):
I'm on my dad. I'm on my dad's Netflix account.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Yeah, so Netflix uses But that did.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Actually cracking down did also help them gain five point
eight million subscribers in total.

Speaker 5 (32:16):
Of course it did.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Yeah, of course it did.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
It hurts it does.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Did that happen? I hope that everyone doesn't follows. I'm
sure they will, all right.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Now, Meta, Google and open Ai have now came together.
They're among a group of seven big tech firms. They
have pledged to responsively develop AI amid the scrutiny of
the risk to society that could potentially happen from that.
So Amazon, Google, Inflection, Meta, Microsoft Open Ai. They're among
those companies that are saying that they're taking this pact

(32:46):
to conduct extensive testing to ensure AI products are safe
before releasing them to the public, putting cybersecurity checks in place,
the introduction of a watermarking system to identify AI generated content,
and also conducting more research. It's on potential risk factors
like user privacy and harmful bias and AI symp systems.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
Okay, this is the year of AI.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
By the way, yeah it's here.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
I feel like Alan Iverson, She's so I know, right,
all right, well that is your under the radar. And
when we come back today, of course we got the
weight up mix at the top of the hour. Plus
Tina's going to be joining us AKAA hood celebrity.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
She now goes by Tina.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
That's her real real Tina, And there's reasons, yes, Jamaican maina,
but she was born in Jamaica. We get into some
real great and serious conversations with her, but super talented women.
Can't wait for you guys to hear this interview. It's
way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
She's just like the talk like they Angela Jean, like
they Angela jee Man.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
She's spilling it all.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
This is yet way up.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
All right, Well, it's way up at Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee. And Jasmine is here.

Speaker 9 (33:55):
I'm not just any.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
Friend, I'm my own brand. Happy Monday.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Maina was here right now.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Yep, that is my voice in there too. Shout out
to Kashan and shout out to Valerie.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
All right.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
As we know, Nas has this new album, Magic Too,
and you know, Magic Johnson went on Twitter where he
said nasty Nas is a hell of a businessman.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
He said.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
On NAS's new album, Magic two, he dedicated track seven
to me, called Urban Magic Johnson. Thank you for the
respect and honor of my business acumen. You're a hell
of a businessman in your own right.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
I love that, right, he says on the song I'm
my Urban Magic Johnson. I'm enterprising. I keep it ghetto
like the hood before they gentrified it.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
And listen to be clear, Magic Johnson is definitely enterprising.
As we all know we talked about this last week,
but here is Magic Johnson talking about this huge purchase
of the Commanders.

Speaker 18 (34:50):
I don't know why God bless me with these opportunities,
but I want to exceale not only for myself with
my family, but for all African America works making sure
we can see ourselves in these seats and I want
people to know that.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
We can do the job.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
That's beautiful, oh man, And he got really emotional during
that interview that he did.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
But that is a huge deal.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
It is. I live in LA for about eight years,
and it was so many businesses and things he did
in LA, like Compton and Carson.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
And in Harlem here New York too. Yeah, all over.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
I had the pleasure of being able to attend his
birthday party him in Cookieous and sat Chope because to
be clear, because there was a discussion when I was
on the Breakfast Club of what was I doing here?

Speaker 4 (35:40):
Really?

Speaker 2 (35:41):
But my friend Ingrid, she was one of the sponsors
of the event.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
We love Ingrid too.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Yeah, so she was able to bring people and I
was one of them people. Well that one person.

Speaker 4 (35:50):
Did you get honored?

Speaker 3 (35:52):
I did not.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
She was a plus one.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
I was a plus one, you know, but it was
a great time. When I tell you, everybody was there.
That's when Jennifer Lopez was dating a ride. They were
there as soon as I walked in. L Jackson was there.
Angela Bassett, I mean, Gail King. I got to hang
out with Gail King a lot. Kevin Lowles, that's.

Speaker 5 (36:12):
Like your bff too.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
You know, I love her. Shaka Khan. I got to
hang out with sha Ka Khan. Take some pictures. It
was really nice.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
Again, No I was I was not her plus one.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
But let me tell you, they bet that list like
he personally looks and if you don't mess with you, you
can't go. But if you don't know your name, but
if he's like might be, I probably wouldn't have been, like,
let me go look and see what's on that website.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
Yeah, it may not have worked out for me.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Yeah, I don't know. All right, And now let's discuss AI.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Beanie Siegel has confirmed that he's going to be recreating
his old voice on a forthcoming project, and he said
he thinks that he found a good friend with this
artificial intelligence.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 19 (36:54):
Yeah, a lot of people frown on AI, but I
think that's going that's gonna work out for me, A
color for life. So I've been through through things that
end up.

Speaker 12 (37:03):
So you're fin say that AI I got just sounded
like then I'm.

Speaker 19 (37:07):
Saying because the pend's still there, it's just the voice.
We all want that. So I'm gonna use a.

Speaker 5 (37:13):
I myself speaking voice does sound a little different now he.

Speaker 7 (37:17):
Got shot yea, so he wasn't able to you know,
his voice had change. Yeah, so and then when he raps,
it's not the same voice.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
I think it is important for people to know that
it's coming, whether or not you like.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
It or not.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
Yeah, just think about it.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
People had issues with streaming when it first started, and
people streaming services. Everybody has issues with everything when it's
new CDs, that was a big deal.

Speaker 4 (37:39):
You got to figure out work with it, use it.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Yeah, streaming services they were like, labels aren't going to
go for it. And and look, everybody's had to embrace
it because it's coming whether or not you like it.
So you got to figure out how are you going
to utilize it and benefit from it? All right, Some
people feel like acep Brockery was throwing some shade at
Travis Scott over Rihanna rolling Loud Miami, ACEPT Rocky and

(38:02):
Travis Scott were headliners. And here is what ACEP Rocky
said on stage.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
Soap So that's what Travis Scott said on stage. That's
what a Rocky said on stage. Who was he talking about?

Speaker 9 (38:23):
All right?

Speaker 2 (38:24):
And people pulled up some old sweets, some acet Rocky.
He said that me and Travis beefish so played out
let it Go. He said that back in twenty nineteen.
But he said people were saying that Travis Scott allegedly
stole his style. And then Rihanna did kind of date
Travis Scott for a hot second.

Speaker 5 (38:39):
I missed that. I missed Rihanna and Travis Scott.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
Okay, well, no, I do remember that.

Speaker 5 (38:45):
And do you remember that that time?

Speaker 3 (38:47):
Yeah, it was like eight years ago. It's a long
time ago.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
Yeah, I remember some of the guys. I don't remember
that one.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Well yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
Where were you?

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Mana you always somewhere?

Speaker 4 (38:56):
Right? I do remember that now what happened?

Speaker 8 (39:01):
No?

Speaker 4 (39:01):
I just remember seeing them together, right, Okay, eight.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Years ago, it's like a lifetime ago. That doesn't count,
all right, Well that is your yet and when we
come back, it is a Monday, and Mano is he
and he's just been sitting here waiting to do his renovation.
Let's make it good today. It's a Monday, man of
it shine to get your It's way up with Angela
yee you, Yes, it is way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
I'm Angela yee.

Speaker 5 (39:32):
And Jasmine is here, Yes, I'm here Angela.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
And it's a Monday with Mano for that.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
Men, okay, and you, but I cannot wait to hear
how you're gonna get our week started on a Monday
with your now.

Speaker 7 (39:47):
Week started by this. We have to stop overly caring
about what everybody thinks, okay, because when you really get
down to it, nobody really cares.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Even.

Speaker 7 (40:03):
Though like because here's the thing, we spend our time
going out trying to, you know, care about whatever the
people think about, what we wear, how we talk, you know,
what we're about. And then the truth of the matter is,
when we were down into a situation when we need nobody,
who cares, who really cares? In the greatest scheme of thing,
who really cares?

Speaker 4 (40:24):
Nobody?

Speaker 5 (40:25):
When should we care?

Speaker 7 (40:27):
We can't care too much. You can't care too much
to the point where it's diminishing you. Right, you have
to be the focal point, right, and you can't stress
over the things that you can't control. So the things
that's not in your in your control, you can't stress
out about them. You know, we can't put so much
emphasis on caring what other people think.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
I agree with that.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
I feel like sometimes also when something happens to us,
we feel like it's the end.

Speaker 5 (40:50):
Of the world. In that moment, it does feel like
it's sometimes.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
Right, but to other people it's minor, like you don't care.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Situations where you're like, man, this is the worst thing
that could have happened to me. You're like devastated. What
are people thinking? What are they going to say? People
might got some jokes, but truthfully, they really don't care, right,
you know, And that's that is a real takeaway, because
you can really like spend time going back and forth
trying to prove something to people.

Speaker 5 (41:15):
Especially when you can't win. A lot of times, yeah,
don't there's no winning in a lot of situations.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
You know, it's just people. You're just entertaining.

Speaker 7 (41:23):
People, and it's like we be somehow seeking some type
of validation. Valid All of us do this. So when
I say, well, I'm speaking even for myself. I have
to practice.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
Yeah, of course, come on, just use your own men.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Yeah yeah, yeah, you know what, may Not pay attention.
We're gonna run this back next time.

Speaker 4 (41:49):
You have.

Speaker 5 (41:50):
You've been killing what.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
If her celebrity is coming today? And I think Mano
is trying to get ready for.

Speaker 4 (41:58):
That with his accent, I mean trying to practice.

Speaker 6 (42:00):
May No.

Speaker 5 (42:01):
That's some good advice. Also, I would like to say
that last week may no socks shame me. I had
Mayo and this is I feel like I can use
your advice right now. Last week may No sock shamey.
I had socks on that had little balls on.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
Them, like like pom Pine. No ball, that's purpose balls,
not policit.

Speaker 5 (42:22):
I was trying to show Maino my new sneakers and
he could not get past my He said, let me
see your side this.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Butter whole bunch of new socks. That's what's crazy.

Speaker 5 (42:30):
I know they were they were not new. You know
how you get about to dry or something. They're old
and they're clean, but they had little balls, and Mayo
was not. Mayo had a conversation with me. But now
I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't care.

Speaker 4 (42:43):
I should have said, I don't care what you think.
I'm aware of my old Harry sock comfortable.

Speaker 5 (42:49):
First of all, they were not hairy.

Speaker 4 (42:50):
They were a little ball little balls.

Speaker 5 (42:52):
Mana was like Jazz, do not come out of the
house like that again.

Speaker 3 (42:54):
But he also at the same time, it's trying to
help you.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
He is.

Speaker 5 (42:57):
But then I wish if he if I knew about
this advice, this Mayo invasion advice, I probably wouldn't have
taken it because I went and about a whole bunch
of socks this weekend.

Speaker 4 (43:03):
You did good.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
Did you listen to Mano?

Speaker 5 (43:05):
I listened to. But I feel like I shouldn't have cared, because.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
He really don't care too. You be coming here every
day wearing Praduct Gucci.

Speaker 5 (43:13):
Lewis now not repeating the outfare.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
Let me see what socks Manos.

Speaker 5 (43:18):
Look at my socks to the guys, I'm not even
dressed like that.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
You got on County of King socks.

Speaker 5 (43:23):
What about me? I have dry fit socks on Let
me see.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
I liked get new socks.

Speaker 7 (43:27):
Okay, you needed new socks, and I helped you. I know,
I know it's a certain thing about caring what people think,
and Karen about what your appearance is.

Speaker 4 (43:38):
Okay, that's the difference. This is a thin line.

Speaker 5 (43:40):
Is I shouldn't care. I shouldn't I should care about
my socks.

Speaker 7 (43:43):
About how you feel, because you know you outside of
those hairy, nasty socks, tak.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
Gonna think that's a reflection another person.

Speaker 5 (43:51):
The socks weren't hairy. They were they was like, folly little,
But look, we just want to make sure you take
care of yourself.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
But the main thing, the main takeaway I got from Monday, Manohan,
is everything that you think is that serious to other
people usually isn't.

Speaker 4 (44:09):
Right.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
In the heat of the moment, we feel like it's
the end of the world. This is happening to us,
it's awful, But in the grand scheme of things, it's
not that serious. No one really cares more than you do.

Speaker 5 (44:20):
Right, So take a beat when something happen to take
a beat, take.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
A beat, step back, go do something else, do something else,
new socks. And the next day you wake up and
you'd be like, what did I even care about that?

Speaker 8 (44:30):
Right? Why?

Speaker 7 (44:31):
Why did I go to that extent to try to
overprove or try to validate myself for for audience of
people that don't even really care.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
All right, well, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (44:41):
All right, And when we come back, we got Tina
joining us aka hood celebrity.

Speaker 3 (44:48):
Can you say her name for us Mano, the real Tina?

Speaker 4 (44:50):
Yes, first, got to stop playing with it. That was
good work accent.

Speaker 5 (44:57):
He was overdoing it too much first, So now he's
you sounded like miss Cleo.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
Put you down, Angela?

Speaker 5 (45:04):
How did sound real?

Speaker 4 (45:04):
Quick?

Speaker 3 (45:05):
Do it? Do it too much? All right? So we
got this celebrity when we come back. It's way up
in Angela ye Angela yee is way.

Speaker 9 (45:20):
Up the little girl.

Speaker 13 (45:21):
I used to work in the clothing store on Fortum
Road and everybody in the hood knows me. But behind
hood celebrity was always that superstar Tina, right, Like you know,
when you think of hood celebrity, like I tell you,
like what's your name, I'd be like hood celebrity the
first thing you're gonna think of it, Like, Okay, she's.

Speaker 9 (45:35):
From the hood and she's a celebrity hood.

Speaker 13 (45:38):
So it's like, you know, I feel like people try
to put me in a box for so long, so
it's like now I'm just going by Tina and you know,
Tina is about to take over the world and just
open up new doors.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
But her celebrity was also an organic name for you.
It wasn't like you sat around and thought, like what
should I call myself.

Speaker 13 (45:52):
Everybody in the hood knows and my manager was like, Yo,
you're really a hood celebrity, and I put the name
on social media.

Speaker 5 (45:57):
So it wasn't like something I thought about. When did
you move to the I moved to the Bronx when
I was twelve, And then when did you realize that?

Speaker 2 (46:03):
Because I know you when you worked in the clothing store,
you used to make videos and you were good at that.

Speaker 3 (46:08):
But when did you say, Okay, this is an actual thing.

Speaker 9 (46:11):
So I never forget.

Speaker 13 (46:13):
I was at work one day it was slow, we
didn't have no customers, and I told my best friend.
I was like, yo, record this freestyle, and he recorded
me and at the time CARDI posted it on her page.
I went from like two K followers to like almost
twenty k, and she called me like, yo, you need
to take this serious, like you really got to do this.

Speaker 9 (46:32):
She's like, go read the comments.

Speaker 13 (46:34):
And I feel like I was, you know, a little
bit like forced into like all right, I gotta go
to the studio, because I wasn't thinking studio at that time.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
So you guys were already friends or d okay.

Speaker 9 (46:44):
Friends, we've been friends with We was friends for years
right that.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Year before we started music, and then you ended up
getting signed to Epic Records, and I know we've never
talked about how that even happened.

Speaker 13 (46:54):
So for people who don't know, I went to school
for music. I went to high school for violin and
then so I used to play the violin too. When
I was doing music, it was really for fun. Even
with the whole Walking Trophy and everything coming out, like
I was on the radio while I was still at work.
I didn't have no clue that I was even going
to get signed. I didn't understand what it is to
get signed. So I remember a shot he hit me
up and he was like yo, he's like, quit your job.

Speaker 3 (47:17):
I was like, I would love to.

Speaker 9 (47:19):
I was like no.

Speaker 13 (47:20):
At the time, hell no, I wasn't thinking I would
love to, because you know, I'm the only one that
I was helping my mom with the rent, right, Like
I came to America, I'm a doca, I'm a docer kid.

Speaker 9 (47:29):
So I came to America with no papers.

Speaker 13 (47:31):
So I was working that job for at the time,
I was working that job for nine years. That's the
only job that hired me without a Social Security without
ID nothing for me. So when he said quit my job,
I was like, I can't quit my job. That I
got to talk to my mom and I spoke with
my mom and she was like, no, don't quit your job.
And He's like, no, no, no, I'm telling you to quit
your job because the labels want to sign you.

Speaker 9 (47:51):
He was like, you have a meeting tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (47:53):
You were like, first let's get signed then all quick.

Speaker 9 (47:55):
Yeah, but I still even understand.

Speaker 13 (47:56):
I still even understand like getting signed, Like you know,
what was really happened. I'm like, to me, it's like
this is a steady paycheck and this is what I get,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 9 (48:05):
So when he took me to the meeting and he.

Speaker 13 (48:09):
Was like the first meeting out there, he was like,
they want to sign you, was like, get your lawyers
and stuff. You were like, lawyers, I don't have no
nic started getting nervous getting now, you know, but it
was different, but it was definitely a life changing situation
like that changed my whole life. Like I went from
never having my own room at all ever in my

(48:29):
life to you know, having an apartment, right, So that
was everything for me.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
Like, and when you say you were a dacka kid,
we talk about the Germans and we talk about everything
that's been going on when it comes to you know, immigration,
So is that something that you follow closely because we
all know some people actually they don't know, but it
is really difficult when you've been here. You've been here
since you were twelve years old, this is kind of
what you know, right.

Speaker 13 (48:53):
But I didn't know nothing about my situation until I
was like maybe like sixteen one or seventeen.

Speaker 9 (48:58):
When I was trying to like, you know, we have school.
Some of them was going away.

Speaker 13 (49:01):
Trips and my mom was like, you can't go, and
you know, I try to travel with my friends. Everybody
talk you know, calling away and she was like, yeah,
you can't do that, right, And that's when it's like, oh, shoot,
like this is different, you know. But I talk about
that a lot before. I used to be embarrassed to
talk about it. I'm gonna be honest, because more like
embarrassed and scared at the same time because my family

(49:21):
used always be like, don't tell nobody your business because
you know they.

Speaker 9 (49:24):
Could get you deported.

Speaker 14 (49:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (49:25):
So yeah, so it wasn't something I used to talk
about before, but I'm big on that situation.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
Yeah, I think that's important talking about it.

Speaker 13 (49:32):
It gets me emotional because I know what I've been through, Like,
you know, I got my brother that was deported in Jamaica.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
Like, you know, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
I didn't even mean to do that, but I just
do know that it's important for everybody.

Speaker 5 (49:45):
Were you're doing your things, So that's a blessing. That's
a good thing, right and taking care of your family. Yeah,
I'm sure everybody at home is like super time. Yeah,
let's get for a minute, take your time, all right. Well,
hood celebrity Tina had to step out for a second
to go to the bathroom just to get it together.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
But she'll be right back. Let's get back into it.
What does your mom think about all of your success?

Speaker 9 (50:09):
You really want to know. So, my mom is a Christian.

Speaker 13 (50:13):
She goes to church, so she's not into the boom
pond and.

Speaker 9 (50:18):
All that stuff.

Speaker 13 (50:19):
Like at first, my mom, at first, I feel like
she was embarrassed because you know, she looked at me
like you came from Jamaica and this is like, this
is what you want to be. Like she wanted me
to be a lawyer or doctor, a nurse, like a
curbing parent.

Speaker 3 (50:33):
Yes, you know, my mom's Caribbean, so.

Speaker 9 (50:36):
You know what's up.

Speaker 13 (50:36):
So when I told her I wanted to be an artist,
she looked at me like I was being low life, right,
like my can't believe, like she called my family.

Speaker 9 (50:43):
So look a girl come on fire and for we
side time, look a girl at law life. Like my
mom thought really like I was on some illuminati.

Speaker 5 (50:51):
Like you know, but that has to her too, not
to have that support where you know, but you first, I'm.

Speaker 9 (50:57):
Gonna be honest with you, to be real with you.

Speaker 13 (50:58):
At first it did, but it kind of like I'm
gonna tell a person like if I feel like you
don't support me, I'm gonna go harder, right, and I'm
gonna make you believe. But now that she's see what
I'm doing, and you know what I'm getting done, I
bought a house, thank god, two years ago.

Speaker 3 (51:12):
Okay, a something to celebrated.

Speaker 9 (51:16):
With me.

Speaker 13 (51:16):
I'm a sister with me, with my baby brother with me,
and I feel like, she see what I'm really out
here doing, you know.

Speaker 3 (51:23):
And you're a good person.

Speaker 9 (51:24):
Thank you.

Speaker 8 (51:25):
You know.

Speaker 3 (51:26):
I think the artist also respects you a lot. Thank you,
and work with you.

Speaker 5 (51:30):
You've worked with some legends, so let's talk about that
for a second.

Speaker 3 (51:33):
Bounty Killer.

Speaker 9 (51:35):
It's crazy. Growing up, I used to be so scared
about together.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
He got that voice too, that voice.

Speaker 9 (51:40):
Everything, like I thought like he was just a killer.
He was just this person. I was always serious. He's
so like.

Speaker 13 (51:46):
One of the most sweetest persons I've ever spoken to.
He gave me so much advice and even for the record,
I'm back. When I reached out to him, I was like, yo.
I was sending him like the screenshot to the fans,
Thom telling me like, yo, you should put him on
the record, and he was like, let me listen to it.
He said send it to me, and he wrote me
back like you killed it, Like this is so dope.
He was like, I'm doing my verse tonight. He did

(52:08):
his verse.

Speaker 9 (52:08):
He sent it to me.

Speaker 13 (52:09):
What I really think was so genuine about him is
I told him, I was like, Yo, whatever money you need,
let me know. I sent it down to Jamaica so
you could do you're part of the video. He's like,
I'm not taking no money from you. Oh wow, he
was taking the money. So I think that's like, you know,
habit is amazing that I grew up on, Like I
listened to Bountyill in my house and Lesendary. The respect
for him and for him to show that same respect

(52:31):
for me was dope.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
I said that. You also had been in conversation with
Vibes Cartel.

Speaker 13 (52:35):
Yeah, he sent me a record that I did a verse.
I did a verse for him, so I'm waiting for
that probably to come out.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
That's dope.

Speaker 13 (52:42):
Big shouts of Shaggy Shaggy, I've been, you know, speaking
with him.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
I honestly, I just hit Shaggy the other day. He
had said conference in Jamaica, super cool.

Speaker 13 (52:51):
Yeah, I feel like it's dope when you actually look
up to these people, like, you know, growing up, I
look up to them and then meeting them in real
life and they and they're so dope.

Speaker 9 (52:59):
Like I think that's good.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
We're talking the hood celebrity AKA to Real Tina. We'll
be back with more.

Speaker 5 (53:04):
It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
What's up? It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela.

Speaker 6 (53:09):
Yee.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
My girl Chella is here from Chicago and we are
talking to hood celebrity. Now she goes by her real
name Tina. Now let's talk about this song signs. What
are some other signs when you know somebody is not
doing you right, like some things that you've seen.

Speaker 13 (53:21):
I feel like that phone is the main thing. After
that phone is going right in the shower.

Speaker 3 (53:26):
Ooh, come home like Wednesday, let me take a shower first.

Speaker 13 (53:29):
Another one, another one is not picking up that phone call? Okay, Like,
if I'm with you and I really care about you,
I'm picking.

Speaker 3 (53:37):
Up right no matter what. I got to talk like you.

Speaker 13 (53:39):
I've I got to send you a little text real quick,
like I'm going to you know, I'm right now with
be like I'm on the radio, but I'm to hit
you back, you know, like or people be saying like, oh,
everybody's busy, but that's really not true. Right, everybody's busy,
but we all find time for what we want to
find time for sure, But what about you?

Speaker 2 (53:58):
Have you ever been the person that's been the one
that they got to look out for your signs?

Speaker 3 (54:03):
Like have you ever cheated?

Speaker 9 (54:05):
Of course?

Speaker 3 (54:06):
She said that with no hesitation.

Speaker 9 (54:08):
I'm not trying to and it's not even to be
cool about it. I'm being honest. Like I used to
always cheat. I used to always cheat.

Speaker 3 (54:13):
Why do you think that is?

Speaker 13 (54:14):
Because honestly, like I used to always look at a
relationship like i'mna hurt you before you hurt me. Like
my aunt got murdered on my mom's birthday. She got
murdered at fifteen wow. And the guy I murdered her,
he told her like, if I can't have you, nobody
else can't have damn. So I was always scared of
falling in love. And you know, I don't want to
get nobody that's.

Speaker 9 (54:33):
Obsessed with me. So I used to just always do
crazy stuff in.

Speaker 3 (54:37):
Relationships just to kind of keep that black.

Speaker 9 (54:39):
Correct.

Speaker 5 (54:39):
Now this is yeah, Yeah, I'm good.

Speaker 13 (54:44):
I don't want to cheat on nobody. Like, let's just
be grown and just be honest with what.

Speaker 2 (54:50):
Bought about this growth and maturity, Like did anything happen
or like what made you go from hood celebrity to
Tina from taxing cheating hood celebrity to.

Speaker 9 (55:00):
I'm gonna be honest with you.

Speaker 13 (55:01):
I feel like people don't grow unless it's a life
of depth situation. So you could tell me this whole time.
Even let's say you're my friend and you're like, yo,
you know you gotta change. I can tell somebody you
got changes. You gotta stop doing this. If not, this
is gonna happen. But when I went to Toronto, we
I went to this place where the you know, they
have like the growl the weed and stuff, and the promoters.
They gave us weed and edibles and I smoked the

(55:23):
l by myself, smoking and I took like half of
the brownie and I ended up in the hospital.

Speaker 3 (55:28):
Wow.

Speaker 13 (55:29):
When I told you, I thought I was going crazy,
Like the room was spinning. You know, I'm so small,
So I never smoked the old l by myself. And
they had just legalized weed out there.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
Oh damn. So I was really showing off.

Speaker 13 (55:41):
I was in and the hospital out there shop took
me back to New York. Came back to New York.
I performed that same night. They didn't remember nothing, and
then I was in the hospital again. Wow, because it
didn't leave my system.

Speaker 3 (55:52):
That's crazy.

Speaker 13 (55:53):
And that right there, I was canceling shows. I dropped
down to like one hundred and three pounds. I don't know,
probably probably was seeing me like losing weight and you know, people,
that's why I always tell people like you don't never
fun of people, because you never know what somebody's going through. Well,
that situation thought me was that I have anxiety. You know,
growing up in a Jamaican household, I didn't know about
anxiety until that situation happened. And I feel like it

(56:15):
triggered my anxiety. When that happened to me, that was
a life changing situation that put me to really sit
down with myself, get my together. And then after that
we went right into COVID.

Speaker 9 (56:26):
So it was like a double dose for.

Speaker 13 (56:27):
Me, and it made me find myself a lot. Sometimes
you feel like it's a storm and you think everything
is going bad because.

Speaker 9 (56:34):
It's supposed to go bad.

Speaker 3 (56:36):
Parents that went there, I agree with that.

Speaker 9 (56:39):
I feel like I've ever been honestly in my life.

Speaker 2 (56:42):
Daw did you hell? Did you talk to somebody? Did
you get a therapist?

Speaker 6 (56:45):
Well?

Speaker 9 (56:46):
I have a cousin that she's a therapist.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
Okay, amazing.

Speaker 9 (56:49):
Yeah. She used to come to my house every day
and she used to walk me through the park. She
used to say.

Speaker 13 (56:53):
She used to tell me like, yo, just tell me everything,
Like just say anything how you feel.

Speaker 9 (56:56):
Because again I didn't grow up like that. I wasn't
raised that way.

Speaker 13 (56:58):
I was raised to do, not tell you business like
even what I mean my song daughters cry.

Speaker 9 (57:03):
My mom got mad.

Speaker 13 (57:04):
She called me like, yo, you gotta pull that down
off YouTube, like you everybody's in my business.

Speaker 9 (57:08):
I didn't know this that. I'm like, mom, like, that's
my record, Like that's how I yeah, it's my story.

Speaker 3 (57:13):
That's how I helped, how people could relate to you.

Speaker 13 (57:16):
And that song helped a lot of people that. Yeah,
So my cousin she was definitely a big help in
my situation. Also, I started meditating a lot. I started
doing that stop picking up the phone to everybody. Yeah,
I got picking tchoose what I want to talk to.

Speaker 3 (57:29):
Say yes to everything everyone.

Speaker 9 (57:32):
Correct.

Speaker 13 (57:33):
I used to just pick up my phone and everybody,
and I thought I could save everybody, like I was
the go to. But as to my friend's family, like yo, Tina,
what you think about this? And by the time I'm
doing that, I didn't understand how much I'm draining myself.
So when I went through my situation, I couldn't help
myself because I was so busy helping everybody else. You
gotta put yourself first. Some times I'm big on that,
right yeah, And sometimes the go to person don't got

(57:54):
nobody to go to. You so much of the go
to person that when stuff hit the fan for you, you
don't got nobody to go to.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
All right, Well, normally we would have asked ye when
we come back, but instead today we have Hood Celebrity
aka Tina that's her real name, so we got more
with her when we come back.

Speaker 3 (58:09):
It's way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (58:10):
Hey, Yeah, you back at it.

Speaker 3 (58:15):
Bring the Way Up with Angela ye.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
Is on What's Up's Way up with Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee and my girl Tella is with me from
Chicago and we're talking to the real Tina aka Hood
Celebrity and then you.

Speaker 3 (58:27):
Know the vibes. Yeah, I love that song.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
Thank you, and so talk about the experience of working
with Shataula because that's big too.

Speaker 13 (58:35):
You know, that was the big shout of Shata Wallet.
So shop put that situation together. So when I did
you know the vibe good energy getting back in my vibe,
my energy. That was a record that for me is
like a happy record, Like I hate to make music
when I'm side, not saying I'm not supposed to, but
I like making music when I'm in good energy because

(58:56):
that's what I want to put out. I mean, so
that was a good energy vibe. I was and shot
love that record. And that's a record that he's like
it needs a feature and for me, I'm like, no,
I just want to you know, artists just want to
drop their music.

Speaker 8 (59:09):
I'm not.

Speaker 13 (59:09):
I just want to drop it right now. He's like no, no, no, no.
Then he called me up. He's like, yo, guess who
I'm in the studio. But he put me in the
FaceTime and he's like, I'm a shot to Walley and
I started when I tell.

Speaker 3 (59:16):
You, I freaked out that stock.

Speaker 9 (59:18):
That's one thing about me.

Speaker 13 (59:19):
I'm not scared to show if I'm a fan of
another artist, Like I started freaking out, like oh dolt.
But I didn't know what he was doing at the time.
So he's like, yo, he's about to jump on the
record right now, and I was like what record.

Speaker 9 (59:30):
He's like, do you know of our record?

Speaker 2 (59:32):
And we actually had something special for everybody to be
able to hear, all right, So we got a little snippet,
a little taste of this Michael Jackson record.

Speaker 3 (59:46):
Now, why is this called Michael Jackson.

Speaker 9 (59:48):
Because in the end I got a Michael Jackson dance
to it.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
Oh I got to see this right now, Challa and
I are talking to hood Celebrity aka the Real Tina.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
But listen to it.

Speaker 5 (59:58):
So is there a full project? Come and tell us
about that if you have those details yet.

Speaker 9 (01:00:02):
If not, you know, I don't have the whole details.

Speaker 13 (01:00:04):
I'm not gonna lie to you, but I definitely know
that the album is definitely dropping like September. You promise,
I promise. Okay, I'm going to make sure because it's done.

Speaker 9 (01:00:14):
It's done.

Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
I was done.

Speaker 13 (01:00:15):
Yeah, but again, like the vibe I was in, it
would have never been good if I would have dropped it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Okay, all right, are you going to change some thing
since you happen until September or you feel like it's
all right, it's completely done? Oh well, all right, So
we're having a listening event in August.

Speaker 9 (01:00:29):
See, I was a surprise, It's perfect.

Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
I know that there.

Speaker 9 (01:00:36):
I didn't know about the listening. But I did the
same thing with my birthday too though.

Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Okay, yeah, your birthday was in July, right.

Speaker 9 (01:00:41):
Yeah, my birthday July fifth, the party was crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
But you didn't know about it.

Speaker 13 (01:00:46):
I knew a little bit about it, but I never
really like throwing birthday parties. I'm always like scared of
like how it's going to turn out, like you know
what I mean, Like who is showing up?

Speaker 9 (01:00:57):
Like how is it going to be?

Speaker 13 (01:00:58):
Like my birthday party was the capacity for the place
was like four hundred people tight like tight spot, like
over nine hundred some people are as we see. It
was a crazy line outside the door of people that
couldn't get in that night. Really humbled me a lot
to make me understand like how much people love me
and you know and care about me.

Speaker 5 (01:01:17):
That's what's up.

Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
Yeah, No, people are really in messed with you.

Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
And how could they not because I've always felt like
every time I've seen you, and I don't know what
goes on with you behind the scenes. Like you said,
like I learned a lot today, But you've always been
in sess good spirits and been sess a great and
kind person.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
You've done a lot for me.

Speaker 9 (01:01:32):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
You know personally that I always appreciate itself. There's anything
I can ever do for you.

Speaker 13 (01:01:37):
That's how I look at stuff though. Like you know,
I was raised by my great grandmother. I was raised
on a lot of principle and moral So.

Speaker 9 (01:01:43):
I try my best.

Speaker 13 (01:01:44):
You know, I'm not perfect, but I try my best
to be a good person and stand on really what
I say, because today you up, tomorrow you down right,
and you don't know who you might need.

Speaker 9 (01:01:53):
That's all I live my life, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
Well, thank you so much. And again, Michael Jackson, when
is that song dropping? Since we just had a little
snippet for y'all.

Speaker 9 (01:01:59):
Michael john might drop in August.

Speaker 3 (01:02:01):
Okay, yeah, all were good.

Speaker 2 (01:02:02):

Speaker 5 (01:04:37):
He's like a child. Yes, he's rubbing his hand. Then
he starts he taps me and starts pointing at his stomach.
I gotta go, I gotta go. And I'm like, okay,

very very unhappy in my marriage. Been with him close
to thirteen years.

Speaker 11 (01:05:33):
He's much older than me. Think you just wanted to
get married because I got pregnant.

Speaker 4 (01:05:38):
I've been depressed.

Speaker 11 (01:05:39):
Put no Wait, all we do is disagree about everything,
dealing with a lot of gaslighting.

Speaker 4 (01:05:47):
I don't know what to do.

Speaker 5 (01:05:49):

Speaker 11 (01:05:51):
I'm a bad dude or whatever. So one of my

Speaker 6 (01:05:58):

Speaker 11 (01:06:02):
Or whatever, and you know I was just kicking it
with her. You know, he was boring her pound up
yesterday and she was with her meet man.

Speaker 14 (01:06:11):
I would like to sign the light on Maria Flores,
