Not mainovate in Mafia. First of all, stop it. Mano
had a lot of activity over the weekend, so much
so that he accidentally went live that went so left.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yes it could have, it could have went so left.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
But I did text you and I said, yes, yes
you did. I said, may no, I don't think you
meant to go live.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
And then you called me, and it was a good
thing because I was live and didn't know it. Yeah,
but I wasn't talking about nothing. So good.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
It could have been worse, though. We could have heard
all kinds of things and runts and groans, but instead
you were outside. But yes, and so that happened, but
it was so hard weekend. We're going to hear all
about that this morning as well. But of course we
always start to show off with you guys shining a light.
And by the way, I was outside a little bit

(01:43):
this weekend too, So shout out to everybody. My girl Melissa,
she owns a restaurant and a girl. She's having a
baby Melis. Yes, yes, I'm excited for her. She's having
a baby shower in the middle of the day too,
which I loved during the week in the middle of
the day. I yes, their first baby together, but it's
her second child. And I also was at the Rutger

(02:07):
that's where they do the.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Basketball side outside New York.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Versus New York. Yeah, I did something that most people
don't do, was it. I stayed for the for the
women's game, and then I left when the men came on.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Oh that's really cool.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
But I was there for a while.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Is that racist?

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Was that sexist? You're trying to say? When I want
to see the girls play? They did great, It was amazing,
It was really funny. It was a close, tight game.
But of course, Brooklyn always you know how Brooklyn is.
We go ahead, I mean, all right, you taking it? Well,
we'll talk about all of that, but in the meantime,
let's shine a light on. I'm eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty is a number.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Call us up.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Let us know who you want to spread some love to.
Who you want to shine a light on. Maybe you
had a good weekend. Maybe you want to show some
love to your bay. Maybe it was a complete stranger
who did something amazing. Eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty, shine a light on them.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
To fuck up.

Speaker 5 (02:56):

Amazing week Yes, had an amazing weekend man, and I
want to shine a light on my brother, Hustle Hard Herbie.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Okay, I tell him all over the place.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
That's right. You know, I'm proud of him. He uh
basically coordinates the whole weekend and really puts things together
and and really helped to take the brand to another
level in this era. And hats up to him, you know,
and everybody else snugs everybody in the whole Hustle Hard,
So you know, I wanted to shine a light on
him and let and let them know that what they

(03:51):
was doing is is definitely appreciated for the better minute
of the whole brand. We had a great weekend and
we're gonna keep doing it.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I love that because a lot of time it is
your event, but there's so many people that actually make
it happen. It's no better feeling than when all you
gotta do is show up.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
That's right. That's right, Because when you got able body
people that love you and love what you have created
and then want want to help expound on that take
it to another another level. So it's it's it's definitely
appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
The whole team got a Hustle High okay, all right, Well,
who do you guys want to shine a light on
eight hundred ninety fifty jet? How are you?

Speaker 6 (04:30):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (04:31):
What's going on with you?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
What's good? Do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (04:35):
I want to shine a light on myself. By the way,
today's my birthday. Well I'll come from Orlando, Florida, and
I turned thirty sixth today, Leo, gang, you know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Okay, happy birthday.

Speaker 8 (04:48):
Thank you, thank you, you know, and I just want
to well, house up, Brady. I got my girls from Orlando.

Speaker 7 (04:55):
She's taking me out.

Speaker 8 (04:56):

cigar and drinking with some coniac.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
She taking you to the eat.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
What's good? Man?

Speaker 3 (05:06):

Speaker 1 (05:06):

Speaker 7 (05:08):
Good? My brother? Good?

Speaker 9 (05:09):
My brother?

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Well, she is a surprise, you.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
Know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Surprised, But I don't see in this trip. But they'd
be sitting outside smoking cigars. Y'all got some nice cigar bars.

Speaker 8 (05:19):
So yeah, I mean probably cool to have you heard
of that before?

Speaker 2 (05:25):
M M all right, well me, happy birthday, Jeff. You'll
have y'all enjoy, Hey, ANGELI.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
Thank you, Angelia.

Speaker 8 (05:32):
I want I want to stay up for your coffee.

Speaker 7 (05:35):
How can I get some of that coffee?

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Uplifts people dot com? Okay, make sure you go in
there and get some coffee. We're gonna be in Target
starting the end of this month, so just plug that.

Speaker 8 (05:45):
That's a book.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Thank you. I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
No power.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Hey Angela, you you got to say my phone because
she's an angela. You know what I'm saying. Who do
you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 10 (05:59):
I want to re shout out to my man, Jarvis Jordan.
I'm calling him Mansfield. I just really appreciate him coming
into my life, me and my kid's life and just
showing us how we should be treated, you know, showing
my son how women should be treated, and showing me
how both he properly loved. I don't know how we
made it without him. You know, I'm a strong woman,
but you know, people always saying, oh, they're a strong woman,

(06:20):
they can handle it. But and I felt that way
until he came into my life and realized, you know,
he's taking a huge weight off my shoulders. And I'm
just grateful to have him and let him, you know, lead.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Us all right. Jarvis Jordan is his name. Right, yes,
all right, what shine a light on him? I love
to hear that. It is a certain thing when you
love somebody and trust him enough, that's when you can
be vulnerable enough to let them and allow that lead you.
And that's a great thing.

Speaker 7 (06:45):
Yes, thank you for letting me shine that light on Hi.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
To day, y'all have a good day.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I can't wait till somebody shine a light on Mano
in that same way.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
And shot lights on me.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, but not because that's because that yeah, because of
that one day though. All right, well that was shining
light on him eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty
in case you couldn't get through. And when we come back,
we have your yee t And there is a group
saying that something that was said here on way up
with Angela Yee is false. Will tell you about it

(07:15):
and their response and will clear it up. It's way
up with Angela yee.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
They says.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
The rooms from industry shade to all of gosp out
Angela's speeling that, yes.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
It is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela yee
and Mano is here, yes, yes, and time for some
yet all right, now we have to actually correct something
that was set up here. Fab five Freddy was on
and on Friday he was talking about jj FAD and

(07:48):
it's crazy because as we were all discussing the fiftieth
anniversary of hip hop, I was definitely watching the super
Sonic video. We were reminiscing about that, and then he
brought up the group JJ FAD and here's what he
had to say on way up with Angela ying, I'm.

Speaker 11 (08:01):
Gonna tell you something about that super Sonic record. Ice
Cube wrote that entire album.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
He really is ice Cube ice Cube. That's hilarious.

Speaker 11 (08:10):
Always I did the same thing, and it was Jerry
Hella that had a ruthless record and I was like, wait,
I did like and had to ask him like twice.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
But that's the skills of a writer, all right.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Well, apparently that is false.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
They said, that's cap Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Jj FAD actually posted that with the false across and
they said, not sure where Fab fire Freddy got this from,
but this statement is false. Our brother ice Cube did
write a couple of our dis songs, but the majority
of our album, including super Sonic, was written by us,
all right, So they wanted to make sure because yeah,
you know, if you did that work you don't want
to have that false league, right, So they put that

(08:46):
statement out and they do want to come on the show,
so I think clear it up. Yeah, which would be
nice to have jj fad on here for super All right,
Drake is asking audience members, or he did ask them
to not throw their bras on stage. You know, that's
been an ongoing thing. Who has the biggest broth to
throw on stage? But apparently his son was in uh

(09:09):
was there with him. So here's what he said.

Speaker 12 (09:11):
Hey, look, we honestly can't talk about this. My son
is at the show for.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
The first time, so I'll keep the night loud, keep
the braws off on the night Sun is here the
next night, it's a different story.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
It was so funny him and little Yachty always going
back and forth. But I guess he was unbraiding. Adonis's here,
But he's like, I know you're not trying to pretend
you're braiding at kids here, all right.

Speaker 7 (09:40):
Now.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Drake also did confront a fan. He actually threw a
towel into the crowd of a woman had gotten it
and this guy tried to grab it from her. That
is ridiculous, Like, you cannot be that much of a
bee that somebody throws a towel, a woman gets it
and you try to grab it from her.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
You never seen dudes try to get in raper sections.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Oh yes I have. I've always said that guys are.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
The elbow girls all kind of No, it's me, me
and my men trying to have conversations with you. Yeah,
in a loud club.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
So he actually was like, I'm gonna send someone up
there because he was so annoyed about that. And the
other thing Drake just did too, was he added sexy
red to the remainder of his tour. So we love
that the two of them. Remember there was a picture
of them together sexy mm hm, so him and twenty
one savages. It's all a blur to us. So now
we can see her on there. Yeah, Bone dugs in Harmony,

(10:37):
a street sign was stolen. It only went up for
two hours. Okay, they had a sign made in Cleveland,
a street named after them, and unfortunately somebody stole the
sign already, Busy Bone went on his Instagram and said,
everybody relax, it's a sign in the middle of the
street on the darkest part. People going over board with
extra disappointments stop so you know, people were like n words,

(10:58):
ain't ish. Unfortunately, you know, they stole that sign. Busy
Bone talked about it, but it was announced that they
were getting their very own signage. It was a petition
that was created by a fan actually, and that's how
it all happened. And the sign was unveiled Friday, August
eleventh at a ceremony that Busy Bone and Crazy Bone
were at. And then already you know, iconically it's it's gone.

Speaker 13 (11:21):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
That's a great honor to have a street named after you. Yeah, absolutely,
all right, Well that is your yee tea. And when
we come back, we have about last night. Now, Mano,
I know you had a crazy weekend, you know, saving
these New York City streets. I can't even believe you
came in here full of life, vivacious on a Monday
morning after you've been working all weekend. Not only were

(11:44):
you in New York doing hustle hard weekend, you also
traveled to Philly. And I would say, Mano does not play,
he works, Okay, and I'll tell you what I did
over the weekend as well. So when we come back,
it is about last night on a Monday's way up
with Antela Yee last night.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
About last night. Last night, last night I went down.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yes, it is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and Mano is here, no Mana, good morning, good morning,
and it's about last night. Fresh off a hustle hard.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Weekend, so let us happen this morning. Is the same
thing for me.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
I know the days are running into each other. I'm
gonna be honest, I don't know how Mano does it
because I've been needing naps. I'm tired all the time.
Like Friday, I was here, hung out with Mano and
Bia did some shots, shots, shot, and then that was
it for me. I went home. That was that. But Saturday,
I was at New York Versus New York at the Rucker.

(12:38):
So shout out to everybody that was out there and
to first NYC is actually a restaurant in Brooklyn, and
they used my coffee company coffee uplifts people and also
the Nourish Spot, which is a juice bar. They catered
at the game during the week and then I ended
up going to the game on Saturday and we got
some special Terror Squad nikes nice as well because Fat
Joe ended up coming out as well, So shout out

(12:59):
to everybody. If you all know what the rucker is,
it's these basketball tournaments.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
It's next Yes, what ker is this is? That's a
staple in New York City.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
But if you're not from here, they gotta know what
that is. You know, it's a big deal to be
able to go. And I think there's a lot of
regulations in the park now so it can't get as crowded.
But there were so many people out there, So shout
out to all of everybody that was playing in the
tournaments over the weekend at the Rutger New York versus
New York, and then I went to Negrill to eat,

(13:28):
so shout out you know, it was a New York
weekend for me. What about you may not talking about.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
I had my cape on saving these New York City streets,
hustle hard weekend. We started off with a with a
bowling party in Queens in the story, shout out the
Cash Doll and Tracy t that came and hung out
with us as well. That was crazy. And then we
had a cookout slash a party in Brooklyn on Saturday,

(13:52):
so I had I had to go to Philly first
and film some stuff for a show, and then drive
right back and then go to the cookout.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I don't know how you do it. Do you fallow
sleep in the car? Not that, because I'm like you, Philly,
I would have been exhausted. You did a bowling party,
you was out all night. Then the next day I
talked to you John in the Philly and then you
came back and had more hust hard weekend events.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
And then I got up Sunday and did uh I
had I had a meeting about that show that we
putting together, okay, and that that was about three four hours,
and then we had something going on at Chelsea, uh,
and then we went and had the after party. Well,
shout shout out to Rose. Happy birthday Rose. We uh
you know, we went to uh Victory last night and

(14:36):
celebrated her birthday and then went to Solettos and and.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
And now here you are. I mean, this is ridiculous. Yeah,
who else is tired just listening to Mano and hus
hard weekend? Man No, I can't couldn't be me. And
it was also the fiftieth anniversary of hip hop and
there were a lot of concerts going on. Yankee Stadium
major huge concert. I saw Little Kim and Little Ceas
performed on You together. Yes, yeah, that was I mean

(15:01):
to me, that's such an iconic video and song. I
actually if you guys get a chance to check it
out for Living Black for iheard, I actually did this
whole thing based on different hairstyles throughout different periods of music.
And I think that Crush on You video with the
different wigs matching the furs, that was crazy. That was iconic.
A lot of people have I guess took a lot

(15:24):
of that style too, because that was definitely trend setting.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
So I was talking about that on that documentary on Netflix,
about how she took that idea. And now you see
you know other artists, you know doing things similar to that, right,
you know, yeah, because prior to that, nobody was talking
about wearing wigs or wearing colorful wigs.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
All right, well we love that, and you know what
else we love I feel like there's a lot of
secrets that went down over hussele Hard Weekend. That was
that secret laugh you heard that.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
We got selling minds. But we want to hear y'alls though, and.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Maybe one day, maybe we'll have some shots and Mano
will tell some secrets. But in the meantime, we want
you guys to share with us. This is a very
safe space. I feel like, Mana, you've gotten a lot
better about not judging people. You've gotten a lot better
about just letting people stay anonymous when they call in,
because sometimes it's not a confessional.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Crying out for help. They want us to know who
they are. They want to tell us they business, and
they want to be judged.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
One of them went viral. Okay, the one with the
guy that just recently said that he would beat up
this guy every day that came to me, right, he
did good. Randomly, he would just beat this guy up.
Right because his mom passed from COVID and the guy
gave me COVID.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
He did good.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
That was a disturbing call to me. I felt like
he might need some management.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Yeah, probably, But.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Anyway, you guys, it's no judgment. Eight hundred two nine
fifty one fifty. Call us up and tell us a secret.
It's way up at Angela.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
This is a judgment freeze on. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yes, it is way up with Angela. Yee, I'm Angela. Yee,
and Mano is here.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
No, mana.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Mano is fresh off a hustle hard weekend and I
already know he's on one today. So for everybody calling up,
it's supposed to be tell us a secret, no judgment.
I can't vouch for what's about to happen hustle when
you guys call up with your secrets today, but it
is a safe space for you guys to get anything
off your test that you won. Eight hundred two nine
fifty one fifty is the number. You're ready for these secrets?

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Mano, I'm ready?

Speaker 2 (17:32):
All right, Anonymous call it?

Speaker 1 (17:33):
How are you?

Speaker 7 (17:34):
I'm good?

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Okay, Well do you want to share? Manos here? He's
not gonna judge you. We want to hear your secret.

Speaker 7 (17:40):
Okay. I fell in love with my side dude.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Ooh, fell in love with your side dude?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Okay. So are you married or you're just in a
relationship open marriage?

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Okay, so you're still married?

Speaker 7 (17:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (17:53):
So you love two men?

Speaker 2 (17:55):
No, you don't love your husband.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
No, what happens, it happens.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Let me ask you. This is your side dude single?
Is he available?

Speaker 7 (18:04):
He's single? Yes?

Speaker 2 (18:05):
So what are you gonna do?

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (18:09):
I'm waiting out for the right time to leave my husband.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
That's not I think that's the best thing to do,
because you don't love your husband, right? Do he love you?

Speaker 8 (18:18):
He does?

Speaker 3 (18:19):
He does? Why you don't love him?

Speaker 7 (18:20):
But well, he says that he loves me, But it's
it's emotionally abusive, it's mentally abusive.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
What made you stop loving him?

Speaker 7 (18:30):
All the fights, multiple attempts at leaving, and him saying
he'll change, and he hasn't.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Okay, all right, is your side, dude open to being
in a relationship with you? Is that what he wants?

Speaker 7 (18:42):
It is what he wants.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Let me ask you this. Does your husband suspect that
you're cheating or do you feel like he has no idea?

Speaker 7 (18:49):
Oh? No, you know?

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (18:51):
So are you still having sex with your with your
husband barely? Oh?

Speaker 7 (18:56):
Why he can't please me?

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (19:01):
All right, well listen. I hope for the best for you,
and I hope that you get everything. And I will
say this, everyone deserves happiness and when you're in an
unhappy situation, it actually is better for him for you
to leave.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Also, I say, I say, I say this, God bless you, Jesus,
love you and keep cheating. Up, keep cheating, keep cheating.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
That all right, Well, we're praying for your whole situation though,
thank you. All right, Hey, Anonymous color, how are you?

Speaker 8 (19:28):
How are you doing, Angela?

Speaker 2 (19:29):
I'm good, Thank you. So Mano's here. We're not gonna
judge you, but we are ready to hear your secret.

Speaker 14 (19:36):
I so we just have got a little party one
of my friends and happen to be away from my friend.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
I was just chilling.

Speaker 14 (19:46):
Kit come over and got the driving stuff and one.

Speaker 8 (19:49):
Thing left to another and like, ended up doing some stuff.

Speaker 7 (19:53):
So I'm driving through Columbus, Ohio.

Speaker 6 (19:56):
I hear that.

Speaker 8 (19:56):
I'm like, Yo, don't nobody, don't nobody know me?

Speaker 4 (20:00):
You ain't wait?

Speaker 8 (20:00):
So that and this is my way to tell it.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
We ain't hear nothing.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
You said, wait some girl at you said a pool party.

Speaker 14 (20:07):
No, I got a party from my man came up
and slept on me and we ended up doing things.
And I'm driving to Plumbus to Ohio, and I know,
don't nobody know me here?

Speaker 2 (20:17):
So I'm like, so, is your friend's girlfriend you did
it too?

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (20:24):
You so you you slept with your friend? Is this
your friend?

Speaker 14 (20:27):
I mean he's one of the not like my best guys,
but like he's one of the people around. Like I
ain't killing him every day, but I've seen him sometimes.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
It just happened like you had luck. If you got luck,
you got love for him in any kind of way.

Speaker 14 (20:41):
Oh man, I got love for people, you know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
So it's like in a way, like because you do
know that if you if you call somebody your friend,
then it's unhonorable to sleep with his girl. You do
know that, though, right on me? That's why mayn't mad at? Okay,
sleeping with your man girl? Are you talking about?

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Are you going to continue talking to her or what?

Speaker 12 (21:07):
No?

Speaker 15 (21:07):
No, no, no?

Speaker 2 (21:08):
That okay, So it's over with. That's it, okay, and
nobody knows now.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Well and where are you from?

Speaker 6 (21:17):
I'm from Ohio?

Speaker 3 (21:18):
You're from Ohio?

Speaker 8 (21:19):
Got it?

Speaker 3 (21:20):
All right?

Speaker 2 (21:21):
All right? Well man?

Speaker 7 (21:22):
What does that mean? What that means?

Speaker 16 (21:23):
He said?

Speaker 1 (21:24):
God? Got it?

Speaker 7 (21:25):
What they call you?

Speaker 17 (21:27):
Though?

Speaker 2 (21:27):
And stop it?

Speaker 7 (21:29):
I can't do that.

Speaker 17 (21:32):
Do you feel bad?

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Do you feel bad about it?

Speaker 17 (21:36):
Oh man? Listen?

Speaker 14 (21:36):
Look check it. I don't think I would falled in
this my moment. I feel like I ain't saying nothing
name wise, but like, yeah, I feel bad.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Okay, that's it. Yeah, he feels bad.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
I should feel bad.

Speaker 8 (21:48):
He does.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
He feels bad about it.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
You should feel bad.

Speaker 8 (21:51):
Hey, you know what, No, don't act like you ain't before.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
I ain't never slept with none of my friends girls. Never,
that's honorable.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
You're not here that.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
Friends.

Speaker 14 (22:03):
He's not a circle friend.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
It's not like my brother. You started this off by
saying that was your friend.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Though, Bro, he was a friend in their circle.

Speaker 14 (22:11):
It's not my not my personal circle, but it's a
circle of like a friend.

Speaker 18 (22:16):
Then he just was there.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Well, okay, that woman she came up to him and
just that important instead of doing that. You that's not
the right girl for him.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
I sleep with men's wives, but they're not they're not
my friends.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Though.

Speaker 6 (22:31):
I think it's more.

Speaker 14 (22:32):
I think the more found think about it is that you.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Deal with the chick.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
I ain't never say nothing. That's uh.

Speaker 14 (22:37):
But he's like I said, he's not like my right hand.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Okay the brow of another bro getr left hand, all right, left?

Speaker 3 (22:45):
No, it's not okay.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Bless you man, thank you for calling and getting that
out there off.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
Your chesty god, bless you.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
See.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
He feels worse now, yeah, he should. You can't say
it's your friend and call up like say some unassociate.
Then I have clarity. Don't call and start off. That's
like I don't play that if you call somebody your friend,
that's don't use the word supposed.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
To just listen.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Listening.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Well, that was tell us a secret. It didn't go
exactly the way it was supposed to. But we do
have yet when we come back and let's talk about
this Melly Mel dish track, he does say that he
does regret dissing Eminem, and we'll tell you why. It's
way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 10 (23:23):
She's like the talk like they Angela Jean, like they
Angela jee Man.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
She's spilling it all. This is yeat way up.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Yes, it is way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Maino is here no man on a Monday. And let's
get into some yet. Melly Mail regrets making that Eminem
disc track. If you guys recall he had tod some
negative things about Eminem. Eminem threw a few jabs at him,
right write on a song with his artist, and now
Mellie Mel put out this disc track.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Why White Mad.

Speaker 15 (23:56):
Now you look bad like a just trolled out of
your bag and a class black class go to pit
with no you gotta suffer the back clash, the top box,
calf so.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
And full in the elephantor rat what you're talking on
the game? We show a name why.

Speaker 15 (24:11):
They put pev Herman in the Hall of Fame before
give you a pamphlet.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
I prick your hand, I got my MOOI it's so white.
He will take your land. Shout to the Furious five
and grandmassed the flash. The boy boy to someone who
leaves Furious down his path is wrath.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Avoid original plus emilssche now Mellie mal has said, in
light of the fiftieth anniversary of hip hop, my original
intention was to contribute and engaging an enjoyable endeavor to
enrich the cultural landscape. But he said, regrettably my response
fell short.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
So he don't think it was dope.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Yeah, he accepts full responsibility for the misjudgment. He said
his perspective was ill conceived, and he said it's become
evident that Eminem's dedicated and passionate fan base stands unwaveringly
by his side.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
All you got out of that dis track was not
to put your bag down because roaches might climb.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Listen, I told you that that's why we don't put
our bags on the floor.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
That's only that you got out of that it is.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
And so it seems like he walked it back though,
you know what I'm saying, And he said it was
an unfortunate choice of words, and it's basically like an apology,
I guess.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
Wonder what made him walk that down walk that backwards.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
I think it was the response from the fans. They
was like killing him for that response. Yeah, all right,
and he does have some huge fans. So there you
have it. Now let's move into this Angel Brings and
rockstar Angel Brings from Basketball Wives, her producer's boyfriend's her
son's father apparently has is accusing her of cheating. We

(25:47):
don't know if this is true or not, but this
is coming from his mouth, but he said my son's
mom from Basketball Wives, that y'all all know is heavily scandalous.
He said, you got caught cheating in the house in
the movie theater. And he said, you're forty three with
three baby. Daddy's been with me for three and a
half years. You ain't think it was time to give
up being a hole yet sheesh, all right. He goes
on to say different things and list people. He talks

(26:10):
about Anthony Davis, he talks about Cam Newton, future, Yko Cyrus,
YBN almighty. I'm not going to say you all the
things that he said about them. You guys can go
and look at that for yourself. And then he also
said three kids, three baby Daddy still can't get it right.
It's clearly not us. I hope one day you take
some accountabilities. Due to recent findings, I need a DNA test.

(26:32):
I have to question everything at this point. But now
he is walking back the whole thing about his children,
his child's paternity, because you didn't want to put that
out there. Here's what he said.

Speaker 18 (26:42):
What I said was you got me questioning everything. But
I also said in the next post that I was
the dummies I ever said. I don't play when it
comes to my kids with my lineage, I'm you know,
chick or take your put your head in a dumb
ass face. I did some dumb being emotional, letting it
get me off my rocker. I don't play like that.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Man. That's crazy.

Speaker 7 (27:04):
Man.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
You know when you mad or whatever you say anything.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
I'm just mad that I wasn't one of the cheates.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
I would have been so angry if you were listed
on him. Should have been on that list, I'm saying,
didn't you know her?

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (27:17):
We cool. I got a lot of respect for us
to do a thing. No, But I'm just saying, it's
better when.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
It's you know, you want to be in the mix.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
You want to be in the mix? Let me stop
pay do you want to be in a mix?

Speaker 2 (27:29):
I should have been tell us a secret and you
were mad at him.

Speaker 13 (27:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
I don't know nothing.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
You know, rock star. You might want to beat from
him one day.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
I don't know. But I'm just saying I don't know. No,
I'm just saying it. Okay, it'll probably never happened. But
I'm just saying, I'm just mad that I wasn't in
the in the because that's probably because that list is
probably over time, right, I don't think that that was
all in them.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
That was I'm glad you weren't in the movie. Theater
may know all right, and that is you're yeaty and
when we come back, we have under the radar. These
are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They've been flying under the radar, but you definitely need
to know about them, and we have a lot going
on today. Imagine they tell you that you can't put
up a picture of a black and a white kid

(28:11):
holding hands because it's traumatizing really in a school. I mean,
we'll talk about that. That's in Texas, all right. It's
way you put Angela Yee under the radar next the news.

Speaker 5 (28:22):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Yes, it is way you put Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and Mano is here. Good morning, and it's time
for these under the radar stories. So imagine you're patting
your weave and a doctor misdiagnoses you as mentally ill.
All right. A nurse and TikToker Nika Marino posted a
video of her experience witnessing a non black doctor diagnosing

(28:49):
wrongfully a black patient as mentally ill. She was patting
her weave, and y'all know what it is. We've all
seen women who have to pat their weaves. I've been
one of those women, all right. Sometimes itches you can't
get to your scalp and you got to use the
comb to kind of like dig in under there too.
You need bobby. Whatever you got to do to try
to scratch your scalp, you're gonna do and sometimes you

(29:11):
just patch your weave, as Beyonce says. And so, yeah,
some people were very upset about seeing this. And research
has shown people of color are more likely to face
difficulties in receiving quality healthcare, and that's a very cultural thing, right,
that's one of the reasons why absolutely true. And you know,
they've also done studies showing that black patients were more

(29:32):
likely to be assessed for substance abuse, and other studies
shared that black women are more than twice as likely
to experience a pregnancy related death than white women. So
there's a lot of implicit bias and that sometimes can
really affect you negatively. We talk about the black maternal
health care issues that we have with this system, and
a lot of times, even when it comes to pain,

(29:52):
there's this assumption that black women can handle pain more
than white woman. If you don't know the right questions
to ask when something's wrong, you can just believe them
when they say you're fine, go home, you know, and
you're really not fine, and you're really not fine. That
actually happened to coach Jesse. She works with us. She's
a holistic doctor, and she had a brain aneurysm, and

(30:13):
if she didn't know something was really wrong and the
pain was that bad. That she works in that space,
so she knew they told that she was fine, she
could have died absolutely, all right. So that's why it's
really important. And sometimes we just don't know we believe
it if the doctor tells you.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
You're okay, knowing that they don't always know what they're
talking about.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
All right.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
Now, insurance providers are halting coverage of ozempic and other
weight loss drugs that people have been using because that
use has skyrocketed recently, and some insurance companies and employers
are saying they're not going to cover this anymore because
of the increasing cost. So, if you find that your
insurance insurance provider is halting that coverage, health experts say
there are alternative treatments available that are also effective, but

(30:55):
we've seen quite a surge in people using ozempic, wagobi
and all of those things too, So if it's not
covered by your insurance, they suggest that patients reach out
to the manufacturers of the medicines to see if there
are discounts available and pay cash. Yes, and so for obesity,
there's certain programs that are not yet generally available. So
part of that is because insurance coverage is so poor.

(31:18):
You know how much it costs to get ozembic without
insurance so much, nine hundred to one thousand dollars per month.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
That's a whole little bill.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Yeah, that is definitely a whole nother bill. So that's
just something that people need to to be aware of
if you're using any of those drugs, and some people
have to use it for diabetes all right. Now, in Texas,
a school trustee wants to halt displays of black and
white children holding hands all right. According to ABC thirteen,
one trustee claimed a child was traumatized. This was in

(31:50):
Montgomery County, Texas, by a poster showing a black and
white child holding hands, and that child had to switch classrooms,
and officials are pushing to remove all displays. Is a
racial inclusivity and pride. They say that these symbols represent
personal ideologies. Now, let me tell y'all something. The fact
that you can't just show two students of different races

(32:12):
holding hands because of traumatizing. That's more of an issue
to me, what y'all is traumatized by something like that.
So they said they want to avoid similar situations and
stricter policies than the ones already in place that prohibit
teachers from displaying political messages not relevant to the classroom,
if you ask me, it's very relevant to the classrooms

(32:33):
to make sure that people understand inclusivity, that people can
be different skin colors, but that they're still the same.
There's still human beings, and so the fact that they're
doing this, it's absolutely ridiculous. But we've seen a lot
of this happening in the school systems Texas, Florida, you know.
So just something you guys should be aware of, and
that is under the radar. Now, we do have the

(32:56):
Way Up Mix at the top of the hour, so
get ready for that. Also, Be is going to be
joining us today. She has an amazing project that's out
right now, a fantastic I think very We love Bea.
Jess aspires her as an artist. Her is a human being,
but she's really really dope. So she'll be here with
us today again. Way Up Mix at the top of
the hour. It's way up with Angela.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
Yee yo.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
She's about to blow the lid ab off this, but
let's get it. Angela's feeling that yeeze, Come and get
the tea.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Yes, it's way up with Angela.

Speaker 17 (33:25):
Yee.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
I'm Angela yee and Maino is here, No Mana. I'm
getting all these emails about people who want to cover Angela.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Lee Day, Angela Lee, Angela.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
It's Angela ye. I don't know why that's so hard.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
My uncle called. My uncle was like, let me speak
to Angela Li.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
You're like, oh my gosh. All right, well let's get
into some yet. Dwayne Wade got inducted into the Hall
of Fame, the Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, so
congratulations to him for that. Of course, he had to
thank his family. He is in his speech thanking his wife,
Gabrielle Union.

Speaker 13 (34:04):
I'm my wife, gab Thank you for making our house
a home. Thank you for making sure our kids feel seen,
heard and protected. When I'm not around. I know I'm
traveling for work this year, doing our anniversary, so I
want to say thank you for being on this journey
for me with me these past fifteen years. Thank you

(34:25):
for learning to love my imperfections just as much as
we've enjoyed and loved the moments of perfection.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I love you so nice.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
It is really nice to Hey also thanked Carmelo, Anthony,
Allen Iverson, Chris Paul. They were all there as well,
and Allen Iverson actually presented the honor to Doing Wade.
And in addition, of course, he thanked his parents, and
his dad walked on the stage.

Speaker 13 (34:51):
When I would cry and say I can't you made
me go harder. The hard work I put in was
because I didn't want to let you down. So even
though I hated being called Little Dwayne, I admired you
as a kid. I admire you now. We had the
same exact dream, and we carry the same exact name.
To know we hustle all the way to the Basketball

(35:13):
Hall of Fame is God's will. So, Pops, I know
your needs a little sore, but will you join me
on stage as we take our rifle step into basketball heaven?

Speaker 2 (35:24):
All right? Got eleven and Little Wayne then performed at
his NBA Hall of Fame party. You know, all right
and Megan the Stallion, speaking of performances, was recently at
the outside Lands Festival. This was yesterday, and while she
was on stage, she wanted to make sure that she
shouted out a certain group of people.

Speaker 12 (35:44):
But for apprestraate y'all, I oh pregnant.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Okay, okay, so yes, she is acknowledging all of y'all
hating on her. She's still outside. Nothing you did broke
her f all you haters. All right, And Buster Rhymes
gave Scarlet a chain. She deserves it. I just want
to say, she's been working so hard. She's an amazing person.
We're all in her corner rooting for her. In here.

(36:17):
She posted. Buster Rhymes giet to me a diamond chain.
I never got anything like this before.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
That's to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
You show me, Scarlet, Yeah, it will be nice.

Speaker 12 (36:28):
Consistently thank you for buying me a diamond chain. My
first ever diamond chain, by the way.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
And she'd be so humble, like she don't care. When
she gets excited, she's gonna let you know. Okay, we
love that. We let that for you, Scarlet. Mat Gooo
has reportedly passed away. He was only fifty years old.
You know Magoo from Timbaland and so rest in peace
and our condolences to his family genuine posted. I don't
even know how to say anything at this point. I

(37:02):
have lost three friends now within a month to life
and it's do date. This dude always pushed me. I
will miss you, Magneu, that's what we called them. Totally
one of the best ever in my eyes, always pressing forward.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
And they didn't say how.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
You know, I don't want to. I mean, somebody said
blood class. I have no idea what the cause of
death is. Neither his family nor Timbland have officially released
a statement, so I don't want to say what it
is until I get any type of real confirmation, because
you know, we got to take things like that. If
I don't know, I don't want to say. All right,
and little Dirk in Chicago, the concert ended prematurely at

(37:36):
the United Center. Apparently there was First of all, they
were reported it was a shooting, but he said there
was no shooting. It was a false shooting, so I
guess maybe somebody thought something happened, But according to reports
and the police did confirm this, it was a false alarm.
No arrests were made, and fortunately there were no injuries
reported either. A little Dirk posted, don't believe the hype.

(37:57):
We bigger than big, Thank you Chicago, till next time.
And who all stole the merchandise? Tagged me so I
can repost you all, crazy ass. They was stealing that merchandise. Baby,
They was jumping over the counter, grab his shirts, grabbing whatever.
I heard one woman on there like, oh that's a small,
Like you can't use a small.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
You stole it.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
You just gotta take what you get what you take, Yes,
just take what you stole. The little Dirk wants to
go ahead and tell yourself that stole some stuff if
you want, I don't recommend it, all right, Well that
is your yet. And you know it's a Monday, so
you know what that means. We need some Monday Manova

(38:37):
to all of you renovators that love Mano and support
everything he says.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
It does you hate that? It's like.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
People, Yeah, listen, And when I told Terrence.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
You told to knock me out, Yes, knock come out.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
Yeah, the manovators were man Let me tell you something else.
It's always something chick, always trying to start some get
out of here. You should have knocked him out. And
if y'all could have heard what Mana was saying. After word,
I'm going is he still here? Find him?

Speaker 3 (39:12):
Versta all. I called him in the room. I called
him to the room. So let's you started. You started,
it feel like you're coming at me, You mad at
me because what my mafia be saying.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Come, We're gonna come back with some Monday menovation for
your renovators. It's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
You rid way up with.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Yes, it is way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela yee,
and Mana is in the building.

Speaker 3 (39:39):
Good afternoon, and it is time on.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
A Monday from some Monday renovation.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
That's right, no hesitant shin.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Let's hear it.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
Supreme confidence at all time. Do not, please, do not,
if you can help it, let your past mistakes, let
your failures tie you down to the point where it
breaks your confidence. If you started out of business, you
started out with an idea and then go to where
you wanted it to go. Don't step into your next
one thinking that you know, with those skeletons, feeling like

(40:11):
you can't do it right. If you was in relationship
and it was bad, don't go into your next relationship
feeling like that. If you was a rap on and
you and you your last project didn't do so well,
you still got to step in there like you that God.
Don't never feel like you're not that person, because you
are supreme confidence at all times. Whatever you failed, that
it's part of the journey. Don't let it tie you down,

(40:32):
don't let it handcuff you. We're gonna continue to keep going.
Every single day we got another chance to be great
and step into our greatness.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
Man. That is like that saying says your past mistakes
don't define you, they guide you. That's right, all right,
and so I agree, And especially in relationships, sometimes we
let the bags from a previous relationship right dictate what happens.
And now I don't trust you, but you haven't done
anything for me to not trust you. But now I'm
blocking and have my wallop. And I'm not saying you
shouldn't be careful, right because we all know what red

(41:03):
flags are. We know what it is. But you also
don't want to let that bad experience hinder.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
You find how you move in your future, whether this business,
whether this's and person.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Let that be. I've learned so many lessons from past
business failures and bad partnerships that I knew what to
do in the future. I remember I had a business,
my first one. I never did like operating agreement. I
didn't have any type of anything, and I didn't have
a business plan. And after that, I was like, I'm
never doing a business again without these things. And I

(41:37):
will say it's also learning to know what people's financial
backgrounds are who you're going into business with, because sometimes
someone can tell you something, but you really have to
look into it, and you can't feel like, well, I
don't want to make it seem like I don't chrute,
you know, I don't really know. And sometimes finances are
a really difficult thing for people to talk about. They

(41:57):
don't want to.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
Admit that they're everything that ain't goal.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Yeah, people don't want to admit that they are in debt,
or that they're struggling in any way, or that they
haven't made the smartest decisions in the past, that they
haven't cleaned things up, that they're in a certain situation.
Because what I found is going into business with people
who don't have the finances aren't going to always do
it's best for the company, and sometimes what's best for

(42:21):
you as an individual is not necessarily what's best for
your company, right, And so you just have to be
careful when you have a partnership that you are doing
that with the right person and with all the information
that you can possibly have on them.

Speaker 3 (42:34):
So the biggest thing is to allow your mistakes and
your failures to be a lesson, right, and then learn
from that and then step into the future. Like I'm
still that person.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
I always look at it as school too to me,
as we pay to go to school, right, but there's
no better school than life, right, And so look at
that as a tuition for all the things that didn't
work out that you might have lost money on that
you you might have said, oh I spent all this
money on this woman.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
And she left me and turned those losses into lessons.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
With my friend or whatever. Well, let that be tuition
on life for you now, you know, in the future,
because I know, Mayo.

Speaker 3 (43:15):
Stop it, I'm not telling those secrets, okay, All right.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
Well good, that was great coming out of this hustle
hard weekend. And Mano, you're the perfect person to give
this type of advice because, like I said, you are
always working hard, you know, as much as I may
go in on the mainnovators you hate or I still
acknowledge the fact that you definitely have endless energy honeypack or.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
Not to be outside hustle.

Speaker 7 (43:43):
All this work.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
I'm like, how does he do all this? He said
this event, this event, waking up early, comes straight to work,
same outfit.

Speaker 13 (43:51):
You know.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
Listen, we gotta get it done.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
Okay, Well, anyway, that is your Monday a man ovation
and he loves doing his innovation. We need more of
those in the car man over.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
It's the way you said you gotta have, like the
Jamaican accent. Go ahead, man oh viah Sean.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Well, speaking of Jamaican accents, Angela Ye Day is coming
up twenty seventh, and I want to talk about that. Also,
my girl Bia is going to be joining us and
even talking about past mistakes and things like that. I mean,
Bia has been on her grind for quite some time,
and I feel like this is her time Bia right

(44:31):
now be a Bia. So she's going to be joining us,
and we're also going to come back and talk more
about Angela Ye Day in case you want to get involved,
you want to come. Remember, y'all is absolutely free ninety nine.
It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
Hey, yeah, she back at it, bringing the way up
with Angela Yee is on.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee
and Mano is here. No Mayna still here, No man
No on a Monday. Now, you just had your hustle
hard weekend. So coming up now on the schedule is
Angela Yee Day. So this is actually going to be
my fifth year doing Angela Ye Day since the mayor
at the time, Bill de Blasio, gave me my own day.

(45:11):
And so what I do for this day is I
always do a free event for the community. And so
actually I think one of them or two of them
maybe felt during the pandemic, so I did a virtual one.
One of them was supporting black owned businesses, and you know,
the one after that was a We've had some great
performances Beanie Man, Cranium, Cass Alison Hines, Christopher Martin. I'm

(45:34):
trying to think of oh Hood celebrities done it a
few times, Naomi Cowan. It's just been amazing. It's also
right before the West Indian American Day Parade, so that's
a big deal in Brooklyn, the biggest parade, and so
this year August twenty seventh at the Barclays outside in
the Center Plaza. Completely free. So we always have food,

(45:55):
things to drink, hair braiding, we have a book bag giveaway.
A Wellness area Social Justice Fund is also going to
be allocating money towards some nonprofits. We'll be talking about
that that day as well. And some free performances I have.
When I tell you the d days, it's gonna it's
like a party outside. It's like a basically like a
big big block party.

Speaker 3 (46:16):
Block party in Brooklyn. I'm ana be there. I know
you are bringing to stop.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
Babies, Steve babies in the building. We're coming through, all right,
So I'm excited. I'm gonna tell you a couple of
people for performing right now, just off the top of
Capella Gray Capella. It's gonna be there. London Hill AOJ.
That's a preppy we love her too, Ricky Blaze, and
we have more for you home and abroad. That is

(46:42):
something that Navy, our guy right here set up for
some live music and so everything again is free. It's
a really great fun family day. So you can bring
out your kids, you can bring out you know, your
significant other, your friends, and it's basically like a day
long party outside right outside the Barclays, right in the
heart of Brooklyn. All right, okay, And when we come back,

(47:05):
speaking of amazing performers, Bia is going to be joining us.
She was at how So hard weekend. Yeah, over the
weekend partying, That's right.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
Shout out to.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
Bea and one thing I will say, everybody let him
some BEA. Her talent, her personality, all of that, and
she works really hard. So we're going to talk to
her about her new project that's out. People were going crazy,
all right because she is really her. So we're going
to talk about that with b A Bia when we
come back. It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (47:31):
Yeah. Bringing the way up with Angela Yee is on.

Speaker 2 (47:36):
All right, Well, it is way up with Angelayee. I'm
Angela Yee. Mano is here, Mano.

Speaker 4 (47:45):
A ba ba is here.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
And first of all, I'm so proud, okay to be
here with Bea with an amazing EP that is out
right now. I saw talk of like the best project
of the year already.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
Wow, that's such a like an honorable mention thing to say.

Speaker 2 (48:04):
I love it because all the songs do sound way
different and you had Swiss beats. I mean, you've worked
with Timbaland, which is huge.

Speaker 4 (48:12):
Yeah, he's great. They're both Wow, they're so good.

Speaker 1 (48:15):
Man.

Speaker 19 (48:16):
Like, there was like a certain thing that I wanted
with this project, Like I kind of wanted it to
be short and sweet so you can easy to digest.
But I wanted it to be like in e collectic
collection of sounds. So I approach every song differently. And
I think when we were starting to do the track list,
we had already like fifty songs, maybe even like closer
to one hundred.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
That's not a EP no.

Speaker 4 (48:38):
We had like fifty songs. And I'm not talking about
like throwaway songs.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
I'm not talking about like record.

Speaker 4 (48:44):
I'm talking about records, you know.

Speaker 19 (48:45):
But for me, like there's certain records that I feel
like have to come before other records to kind of
like tell a story. So it doesn't matter if I'm
one hundred records in, they still have to come out
a certain way.

Speaker 2 (48:56):
So what happens to those other songs we build with
those two?

Speaker 3 (49:00):
Keep them in his time exactly. You keep the records
into his time. You may she may have a record
with a cudden person. It's like it's not time for
that record. I need to get there. I just continue
these understanding Yeah, understand that I'm a whole little record
young thugs. Right, We're gonna put it out probably the

(49:20):
end of the year. But I've been holding I could
have dropped it a long time ago, but I keep.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
Asking can we hear it? But I don't know if
you don't trust me or what I'm like.

Speaker 4 (49:31):
When the time is right, you know you, I feel
like I'm one of those people when I.

Speaker 2 (49:35):
Know, I know we are talking to B A BA.
And then last time we spoke, I remember you talked
about working with j Cole and how he was amazing
to be in the studio and how respectful he was
and how comfortable he made you feel.

Speaker 19 (49:47):
Yeah, like he really made me feel like I can
wrap and he's not judging me. Were you going there
and you're like, oh, is he going to think this
is lame? Or was he gonna think this is good?
It's like you might overthink a little bit, but he
don't give you our energies, Like he's like this is hard,
like he's picking you up, so you like, yeah, it's hard.

Speaker 3 (50:03):
I'm going to ripe a couple more bars I'm gonna
say this and I mean this, and I'm not saying
this because you hear this is an unprecedented time. It's
more female artists in the game competing than ever. You
like one of my favorite ones. Appreciate that, like that's
a fact, Like it's a lot of competition amongst the
female Do you feel like you're getting all the credit
that you deserve right now?

Speaker 19 (50:25):
Oh, that's a weird question, right because I've been making music.
Ange knows seeing me from the beginning, so I would
say I've been doing this like so long that a
long time ago, I learned to like release that like
I don't.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
I don't have those feelings.

Speaker 19 (50:40):
Like I even tell my team my friends when I
put out music, I'm like, I wish the best for
this music, but I seek I have no expectations as
far as like, oh, if this doesn't do this, I
will feel less than absolutely not. I'm still really hurt.
Like it's like I really stand on that. When I
say that, it's like you can never make me feel
like I'm not.

Speaker 3 (50:59):
That's hole thought. Take a shot.

Speaker 19 (51:01):
Just because she said that, I love the girls and
I love the movement, Like what the rapper what the
rap girls got going on right now because it's like
it's beautiful. I wouldn't be here with all the people
that came before me. So it's like I never see
somebody and be like, oh my god, that should be me.

Speaker 3 (51:15):
Well, you got your own lane, you got your own sound.

Speaker 4 (51:17):
Yeah, don't really like that. I'm really like that. I'm
not going nowhere.

Speaker 2 (51:20):
And you know what else, I love right now. And
people keep on saying this, but it is so true.
It is like the Year of the Woman. You also
don't feed into the bs, and I like that because
sometimes I feel like and it'd be making me a
little mad, because I know, be a don't be she'd
be minding her business, drinking her water and her tequila
and not trying to yeah, not trying to be messy.

(51:42):
And sometimes people will try to test you, will try
to make you messy, will try to make you to
respond to some something that you shouldn't be and you
always are like, no, I did not mean that, and
you step away.

Speaker 19 (51:52):
You know, I'm not perfect, Like I've done my little
shadiness in the beginning. I say like, I'm my career
and learn my lesson from it and kind of you know,
I always wanted to speak on this. I'm so glad
you segued into this because I used to take things
more personal. I didn't really understand like this is a
business and like these are not so much friendships with
these people. These are your peers. So it's like you

(52:13):
can't take nothing personal. So like at the beginning, things
that used to like rub me the wrong way and
I'd be like.

Speaker 3 (52:19):
Well, why didn't they do that?

Speaker 4 (52:20):
I would have did it. It's like that's not that's
not your.

Speaker 19 (52:25):
Yes once I once I learned that it's so hard
to rub with my feathers like you really it's not easy.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
We are talking to b A BA and I love
the way that I know that you were part of
the campaign and we talked about this on Way Up
with Angela Yee. But you redid pd Pablos North Carolina. Yeah, man,
you killed that.

Speaker 4 (52:46):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
And listen people would be like, oh, why did they
got it? Samp? But it was part of a campaign.

Speaker 4 (52:51):
Yeah, everybody's always saying it like yeah, you sampled.

Speaker 19 (52:53):
Let It's like I love samples, Like did you see
there's a TikTok going around right now where they're asking
a bunch of the kids like who's on their T shirt?
And the kids don't know who's the artists on their
T shirts that it's like legendary artists like Aliyah and
like Metallica.

Speaker 4 (53:10):
And random people.

Speaker 19 (53:12):
They don't know who it is, they just wearing the shirt.
So it's like for me that music is so timeless
to me, it's so legendary. Like I feel like I'm
not doing my due diligence if I don't sample. Sometimes
have to like really like people always compare me to
a male, so I always okay, yeah, Like the way
that she wraps is very like subsphone is just really

(53:35):
really punching like that, So don't even trip it.

Speaker 3 (53:37):
You don't see it.

Speaker 4 (53:37):
You don't see it.

Speaker 19 (53:38):
But the people they tell me that sometimes, So it's
like I might flip a beat like that. You know,
that's not a bad cut, that's not a bad thing.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
I just don't think a male really had the bars
like that.

Speaker 2 (53:49):
But I would say this with women, and it feels
like because there's not that many that are so well known,
people always feel like they got to compare you to somebody.

Speaker 4 (54:00):
I love that for me, so thank you.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
I do. Like when you flip it with the Spanish
and the English. I think that's like when I listen
to your music and you do that, that is I
think the essence of B A two. Did you bring
in those two worlds together?

Speaker 19 (54:14):
Puerto Rican? But you know what, I gotta get I
gotta do more. I gotta get back with like some good,
good producers that can help me get in my real,
real Spanish bag.

Speaker 2 (54:22):
Yeah. I like when you do that, But I also say,
does she know Spanish that well? Because you know I don't. Yeah,
I can sell, but it's like how I know it?

Speaker 18 (54:29):
You know what?

Speaker 19 (54:30):
It's like I've learned what all the Spanish I learned,
I learned seconds. So it's like I can get by.
I'm conversational, but it's just not that good. Like you
know what I'm saying. That's changing. Yeah, Like I didn't
grow up speaking Spanish as my first language. I grew
up speaking English. But I feel like when you have culture,
like it's in you no matter what. So if you
shine light on your culture and you like prideful in
your culture, like that's how you should be. Like I

(54:51):
know so many people that don't speak their language, but
it's like they still prideful as you should be.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
I'm half Chinese. I don't speak. No, I could say
Happy New Year?

Speaker 4 (55:00):
How you saying?

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Gon hey foy, go.

Speaker 4 (55:02):
Ahead f joy?

Speaker 2 (55:03):
Yeah? That perfect. I'm telling you, you know the only
reason I.

Speaker 3 (55:07):
Can get back into your roofs like I'm getting into mine.

Speaker 19 (55:10):
Don't do it, Jay Comemento one listen.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Man was.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
He was walking around the room the four Seasons. I
was like, stop because he has a Jamaican walk. Also Jamaican.

Speaker 4 (55:27):
No, oh, it's just same, same, yeah, Patua, Patua.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
All right. Bia is here with us, me and Mano,
and we're gonna have more of here when we come back.
Its way up with Angela. Yee?

Speaker 1 (55:45):
You ride the way up with Angela?

Speaker 2 (55:48):
What's up this way up with Angela?

Speaker 12 (55:50):
Yee?

Speaker 2 (55:50):
I'm here. Mana was here and we are talking to
my girl Bia. I don't even know if I should
ask you this, give me permission so I could do it?

Speaker 4 (55:57):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (55:57):
All right? So during a pandemic, Oh my god, what
you're gonna ask? He was booed up, but you still
know I'm okay, girls, stop, okay. I didn't mean to
do that, and I wasn't sure. That's why I was
sing girl, I don't know if he was walking to
the bank with your man.

Speaker 4 (56:13):
And the pandemic was so long ago, girl, I was like, No,
I was. I was in there a long term relationship.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
I'm not wrong for asking.

Speaker 4 (56:22):
I'm focused on self right now.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
We can't ask what happened.

Speaker 19 (56:26):
Absolutely, you're out of town. No, okay, we amicably split.
He's a great guy, cool like, it's all love.

Speaker 3 (56:38):
I'm not lit. No, no, no, no, I was.

Speaker 17 (56:41):
I was.

Speaker 4 (56:41):
I was with the same person before I was lit
after I was.

Speaker 3 (56:44):
That's how you got lit. It got little.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
No, No, that's not She's not gonna tell me you.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
Ain't like talk to a certain kind of way.

Speaker 2 (56:51):
No, we amicably split.

Speaker 1 (56:55):
Let it go.

Speaker 4 (56:58):
Let's talk about me.

Speaker 2 (56:59):
I'm going do y'all still speak.

Speaker 19 (57:01):
I said a prayer to like to find a good man.
I'm not a seer prayer, but like, God, redo this
batch and it works. Yeah, I'm meeting no kids, Like.

Speaker 2 (57:13):
That's a listen, that's a hard thing. What kind of
guy would you like if you in your prayers?

Speaker 4 (57:19):
Oh my god? Okay, oh my god.

Speaker 2 (57:24):
And while she's thinking, I just want to say, they
were so bowed up. You know what I'm saying. The
house talking and she was talking about age. Okay, okay, okay, sorry, I.

Speaker 4 (57:35):
Would like a Christian man.

Speaker 19 (57:37):
Okay, yes, about Muslim or a Muslim man, but he
has to come to me through God. Because if if
you don't have like a relationship with God, you can't
have relationship.

Speaker 3 (57:47):
A relationship with the Universe's spiritual.

Speaker 2 (57:50):
Yeah, spiritual, you have a relationship meditates and haship.

Speaker 4 (57:55):
Prefer like a higher.

Speaker 2 (57:58):
Power man has a hand of God.

Speaker 3 (58:00):
Stop it, because that's the That's a negative thing, right,
that's a negative thing.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
He's always slapping people with the hand of gun. I'm
it's just so messy today.

Speaker 3 (58:14):
This is what she's doing.

Speaker 4 (58:15):
Are you putting up ex boyfriends? I don't know what
you got going on with me?

Speaker 1 (58:21):
Against me?

Speaker 3 (58:22):
I'm with you.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
This is why I want to make sure I'm happy
with your prayer. So now people know they could you
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (58:28):
Okay, what like a god fairing man, a man that
that is in shape, okay and very clean. It has
to be very clean. Honestly. No, I'm telling you, I'm
finding a husband this year. I'm I'm finding husband this year.

Speaker 3 (58:41):
This year, yeah, this year, five months laugh.

Speaker 4 (58:45):
May No, he don't hate on what I got.

Speaker 13 (58:49):
In.

Speaker 3 (58:49):
I'm gonna help you. I'm gonna help you find a husband,
a couple of girlfriends.

Speaker 4 (58:54):
Godfair, clean, use the and word with God.

Speaker 19 (58:57):
Let's not do that. You know, I'm too flustered to
think about it right now. You gotta just let's say
a prayer for okay. Let's okay, somebody leave the prayer
off from God.

Speaker 3 (59:08):
Let's get her a good girlfriend. Love for me, for me,
love for me, and not because she not because of that,
not because she's doing her thing right now. Because she
looked good. Yes, you look good. You want you want you?

Speaker 15 (59:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (59:23):
I want him to sweat. Yes he has yes, okay,
Yes he.

Speaker 4 (59:27):
Has to be here.

Speaker 2 (59:28):
Yeah, he has to be really him, Father, God, please
follow let him have his own thing going on. Yes, God,
all up on her. Yes, yes, Father God, that's the word.

Speaker 3 (59:40):
Make sure you're not double dipping like sneaking. Yes.

Speaker 2 (59:44):
Make sure he's not jealous, he's not a liar, a cheater. Yes, Father, God,
coming in Jesus name, and you walk ball. Okay, won't
he do it? I feel good about it. I feel free.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
That was a good payer.

Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
It's not a pear a prayer.

Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
Support.

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
I think honestly speaking, listen with that prayer that we
just did right there, you will meet this like in
the next forty eight hours.

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
Wow, that's a hard weekend, all right. Well, normally we
would have asked you when we come back, but instead
we're gonna be talking more to our girl. BEA's way
up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
Yee? You vibing way up with Angela? Yee?

Speaker 13 (01:00:30):
More?

Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
Now what's up this way up with Angela? Yee? I'm Angela. Gee.
Mana was here and we're talking to Bea. So Bea
has a Vegas residency at the Aria.

Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
Yes, Aria nice.

Speaker 19 (01:00:41):
Yeah, you can find me in Vegas all the time.
But yeah, we do this, we go outside for a living.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
Yeah, because I was actually in Vegas and I was
trying to make it happen, but I think.

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
I was with your man.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
No, no, no, you must have been mowed up first
of all any.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
Man I have.

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
It's like, let's go see Bea performed, So that's not
a question.

Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
So yeah, she's good at what's so good at what
she does?

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
Yeah, she's the best, So that is not a problem.
We're gonna definitely go see Bea performed. Have you gone
to the Usher show? Yes, all right to talk about.

Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
It, Okay.

Speaker 19 (01:01:13):
I went to the Usher show, y'all, and he came
over to my group and we were already knowing like
this can get weird, so we had to be We
was on our p's and q's. We was like singing,
you know, we wasn't doing too much because it was like.

Speaker 4 (01:01:24):
Ok going on. But he comes up and he sings
with you and it's a vibe.

Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
How dope is it that the people you grew up
listening to like busting rhymes? You know, you have a
song with him. But let's talk about like how did
that even come about? And was it exciting for you
working with Buster?

Speaker 4 (01:01:39):
I love Buster.

Speaker 19 (01:01:40):
I met him like ten years ago in the studio
with Farroh and I hadn't I hadn't had anything going
on yet, so he was like giving me my flowers
back then, like he just always showed me love through
this whole journey. So then when I finally like he
had the right song, he called me up one day
he was like, bea, I need you to do this
part of the song, like nobody else could do it.

Speaker 4 (01:01:59):
You have to do it.

Speaker 19 (01:02:00):
Send it to you now, send it back, like he
s so he sent it to me. We did it

What song of yours would you say has been the
most lucrative financially? Is it a whole lot of money?

Speaker 19 (01:02:30):
I would say between a whole lot of money and
Best on Earth, But like a whole lot of money
is what I felt like solidified me as an artist
by myself.

Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:02:38):
Best on Earth was kind of like to me, like
the introduction to to me.

talking about opening up other businesses.

Speaker 19 (01:02:49):

like really really exciting for me. And the nail space.

Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
Okay, we like it. You had to deal with kiss
right before.

Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
But now I'm doing my own nail thing as you should.

Speaker 19 (01:03:03):
Like I'm going to sell polishes, different kids and like
different little things, and I really want to open like
a nail song.

Speaker 4 (01:03:10):
