Speaker 3 (01:05):
Wow, that's that's a big time. I didn't realize they've
been that long.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
And the fact that twenty five years later is like
the music still hits like it could have been recorded
today is amazing. All right, So all three members will
be here. They're also going to be They're on tour,
so I'm definitely gonna go check them out this weekend
in New York. They're gonna be a radio city music hall.
But if you want to get your own ticket, you

(01:29):
can always check up on that and see when they're
coming to a city near you. But of course we
always start the show shining a light. Eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty is a number. Call us up,
and let's pres some positivity today. I'm a little congested.
I think I need some sleep really badly.

There's a a the Governor's having a dinner tonight, and
we have to figure out if we're gonna make that
all right. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Call us up.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
It's way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (02:07):

Is here brand, I'm my own brand, Yes, Jasmine and
Happy Thursday, Happy Friday Eve Angela.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Who would you like to shine a light on I'm okay, okay,
Well then I got this. I want to shine a
light on my girl, Teresa Sanders. She's a publicist. Actually,
I've known her for such a long time. When I
used to work for Wu Tang, and you know that
was a long time ago. Teresa was also a publicist
for them. Yeah, but she does pr also for like
the Big Three. She's done so many people. She's amazing

(02:53):
at what she does. Anytime I need something, when I
tell you, sometimes you know her stuff doesn't come through
depending on who you're working with. Well, she always make
sure that it happens. She follows up. And she's the
reason Tony Tony Tony is coming here today.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
So perfect I know and I know her too.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I didn't realize it. I know her too. Yeah, to
talk to us for way up with Angela.

Speaker 7 (03:12):
Yee.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
So I just respect people who do their job but
do it very pleasantly.

Speaker 8 (03:16):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
She does it well.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, because sometimes you know, dealing with certain people, it
can be like I don't want to have sometimes can
be a headache. Publicists can be nasty. I've had to
deal with some publicists that. And and for anybody out there,
you know, if you work with anybody or is there's
people that that handle certain aspects of what you do.
You want to make sure that they represent you in

(03:38):
the way that you want to present yourself. You know,
you never want people who work with you or represent
your business to be nasty, to be condescending, to be irresponsible,
or not responsive at all when people are sending the messages.
You want to make sure that the people that you
work with that are forward facing, are people that you're like, Okay,

(03:59):
it's pleasant to deal with that person.

Speaker 8 (04:01):
You know.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I've worked with Paris for a while yep, and people
will always be like, oh, she was so nice, she
was very pleasant, she was very professional. It just means
a lot. So that's just a tip out out there
for y'all. But shout out to Teresa we're going to
shine a light on you. She also has an amazing son,
Drew Sanders, who is an entrepreneur himself.

Speaker 9 (04:18):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, he has his own clothing brand and I actually
recently saw him at the Shopify. You know, they did
this thing for small black owned businesses, so he was
there for that as well. All right, now, who do
you guys want to shine a light on and spread
some positivity? Eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one
fifty day Jah, what's good?

Speaker 1 (04:34):
How are you?

Speaker 10 (04:36):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (04:37):
Oh good?

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Who would you like to shine a light on? Yeah?

Speaker 11 (04:40):
I would like to shine a lot my man, my man, okay, yeah,
Like I got two kids, one.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
For her, okay, two kids, and then she had and
I love that he chases all the kids. Amazing because
if he's with you, then you he's with them too.

Speaker 12 (05:01):
Yes, for him, I had one way before him. He
came don't write and place.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
That is so sweet and that's not easy for men
to do. I'm glad that you're commending him for that.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
Yeah, all right, well.

Speaker 8 (05:13):
Thank you, Daja, thank you, kV.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
What's good?

Speaker 12 (05:17):
Hey? How you doing, Angela?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 12 (05:20):
I'm doing?

Speaker 13 (05:21):
All right?

Speaker 6 (05:22):
I want to sign to light on my side.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Keep on More okay, key on More.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
Yeah today his birthday fourteen years old. Okay, that's yeah,
he has down Cindril.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
All right, well, oh well, shout out to Keyvan More.
I hope he's listening every right way.

Speaker 12 (05:38):
He needs to be in school.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
But let the world know, right right right right, like
wait a minute, they're not gonna pull him out of
school for this, but you know.

Speaker 14 (05:47):
Right, Hey, thank you guys. I love listen to.

Speaker 6 (05:51):
Your morning show.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
All right, well, thank you so much for calling you today. Yes,
well that was Shina Light. And of course you guys
can always call us eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty and leave a message just in case you
couldn't get through. And when we come back, we got
your yee t. I mean, let's set it off strong.
We'll talk about Ebane k Williams. She was on the
Grillo and she was talking about when black women should

(06:15):
be on the search for mister Wright.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
All right, it's way up at Angela. Yee yet, next show.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
She's about to blow the lead above this spot. Let's
get it.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Oh yeah, Angela's villain at yeete, come and get the tea.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yes it is way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee,
and Jasmine Brand.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Is here, Yes, I'm here. Good morning.

Speaker 15 (06:31):
Now.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I saw this going viral and people DM this to
me too, and we're not happy. But Ebanie K Williams
was on the Grio and she was talking about when
black women should be looking for their potential husband okay,
and she said that should be in college or soon after.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Here's what she said.

Speaker 16 (06:49):
As black men age, their desirability increases, thus their optionality
of women is always expanding, and the exact opposite is
true for Black women. The reality is that our marriage
and partnership market value is depreciating with every passing year.
No matter how good we look, men are still seeing,

(07:10):
primarily our presumed dwindling fertility as a knock against us.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
And speaking of.

Speaker 16 (07:16):
Fertility, that is another reason that I want younger Black
women to seek marriage and partnership in college or right after,
if that's what they choose.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
I mean key words is if that's what they choose.
And I think every person is just so different. One
of my friends who actually got married right after college
DM that to me and she was really angry about it.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Getting married right after college sounds like a nightmare. To me,
sounds like an awful decision.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
But people and nobody I went to college with who
I would have wanted to marry. I just want to
say that first, like, I don't.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
I wouldn't want to marry myself fresh out of college.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Yeah, I was definitely still on the grind, you know
what I'm saying. I had done a lot of internships,
trying to figure out what I wanted to do in
my life, trying to find myself, also trying to enjoy myself.
I will little something and be on my own, making
my own money for ones, really becoming who I was now.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
I do know people who did get married. Shout up
to my friend Valerie and Mark.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
They got married literally, they were together in high school,
got married after college.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
I think I see them. They come to your things sometime, right, Yeah,
you're really cool with the guy.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
And my god son Brandon and so you know, and
it can work and if you choose, every person is different.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
So it's hard to say, but I wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
I do think the first half of what she's saying
is pretty accurate in terms with how men you know,
as they get older, it doesn't they don't they're not
looked at the same as women get.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Older, but I don't know about as young as college.
That's the first half I agree with.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Okay, because I also feel like, because she's she thinks
that desirability decreases for black women as we get older.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
You don't think so.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
And that our degrees and professional accolades and money that
we accumulate doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
She said, oh that too.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I don't agree with that. She said our market value
was depreciating. It doesn't matter how much of that we have.
I don't think that's true. I say, I think that
men who I would be attracted to would find that desirable.
Like she's doing her thing, She's made this money, she's
got these houses, she's got her hown business.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
That's desirable angel to a person who I would want
to be. Now, any man who found out and not.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Desirable, he's probably intimidated. All right, Now, let's move on
to a whole different thing. Chloe Kardashian on the season
premiere of their show on Hulu, she had some things
to say about her thirties and how difficult and torturous
it's been for her.

Speaker 17 (09:36):
I have hated every day of my thirties has been agony.
Of course, I've had some incredible moments in my thirties.
I mean, I have two beautiful kids, I have great,
great moments. I'm not This has nothing to do with that.
Besides that, though every other day is torture.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
It's just a terrible decade.

Speaker 6 (09:59):
So guess what.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
I am pumped.

Speaker 7 (10:01):
I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
I'm actually so. I'm only turning thirty nine this year.
So she's looking forward to her forties. Hey, we'll talk
to her different things here.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah, she's also not a black woman, and our desirability
would have decreased.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
I look at you all right now.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Young A May says that she survived some issue she
thought she would die from. She was hospitalized. You know,
we've been seeing that she's had some health issues. First
of all, young A May.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
I love her.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
She's from Brooklyn and super talented. But it has been like, okay,
young I May. You know, and apparently she's gone through
some things with her health, and she revealed that back
in March. She says she had been hospitalized and treated
for several conditions successfully. Yeah, and dealing with various personal
health issues as well. But she did say that she's

(10:47):
doing much better. And now she just posted a picture
she's sitting inside her car and she says, survive some
ish I thought I would die for Angela.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
I want to know. I need the details. What's wrong?
What happened? How did you make it? I want to know.
I'm not I want to know what was the issue? Well,
she said she didn't specifically want to go into detail. Yeah,
I want to know.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
But she is going to be doing a documentary and
new music in the near future, so I'm sure when
she's ready for everybody to know her story, she'll tell it.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Okay, all right, that's fair, but you put post ittulf
on social media. I want to know what happened.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Well, now you're going to watch the documentary.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Yeah, she knows.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
She's doing all right, and shout out to Quincy Jones.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
He's going to be receiving the Peace through Music Award,
very well deserved. He's going to get that during the
launch event of the US Department of State's newly launched
Global Music Diplomacy Initiative, and they'll be showcasing the unifying
potential of music in our increasingly interconnected world. And I
will say music definitely brings all people together. When we

(11:47):
go to these festivals. I was at the iHeart Festival
over the weekend. I was able to see all different
age groups, all different ethnicities, all different everybody just jamming
out to public enemy and food, fighters and tales see
and so that is one thing that I think has
always been unifying.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
So, yes and food, I would say music and food.
You know I love some food.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
And love is blind. No, I'm kidding, that is your
Yet when we come back, we have about last night.
That's where we discussed what we did last night. It's
way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 13 (12:18):
So about last night last night?

Speaker 6 (12:21):
Last night jes went down.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yes, it is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And Jasmine Brand is here with me.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Yes, any brand, I'm my own brand.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Hey, Jasmine, Hey Angela.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
All right, So let's talk about what we did last night.
And I know you took some night, quill, I took some.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I watched I watched a show that we needed to
watch in preparation for a interview. Okay, Mona Scott Young,
I watched Mona Scott Young's new show what's it called?

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Why don't you say? Because you have a whole voice
with Love and Murder, Love and Murder Atlanta Playboy starring
Tape Digg.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
So I watched that, I and Keisha Sharp and Keisha
Sharp I straightened up, watched that and took some night quill.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
I was out of here. Now you took Niku. Are
you sick?

Speaker 3 (13:04):
I feel like at night, at night, I'm coughing. So
does that make me sick?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Coughing is I don't know if that's an indication that
you're sick or what You've always I feel like, off
and on have this cough.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
I do, but then it goes away. It's alarming.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
But also I have I have this child that's alarming
as well, and so I feel like being around her.
It's you know it kind of Also, you have the sniffles,
you're a little congested.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
It's from you.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
You were doing that when I came in. As soon
as you walked in Okaya. I think I'm tired though,
like I had the rest.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
And so for me. Last night, I.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Actually went to a dinner for Delongey Nice, which was,
by the way, very nice.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
It was a five course meal.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Can you talk about your relationship with Delongey? Really cool?

Speaker 2 (13:47):
So we do have a Delongey machine laespecial LISTA. So
what this machine does, because I have my own coffee
company coffee of this people. It grinds the beans and
then it's a whole process. But basically you can make
fresh coffee. And I think it's a great investment just
because people spend so much money buying coffee. To be
able to make it yourself with like a high quality

(14:08):
beans like coffee up lets people available in target, it
really does, it really does change the whole experience. I
actually got my machine at home right before the pandemic.

Speaker 7 (14:18):
You did.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
I remember I was there. I remember you getting taking
it all out, trying to figure it out. We were
on YouTube trying to figure out.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
How how do you put this together?

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Because I don't like to read instructions, so instead of
reading instructions, I'll go on YouTube to watch somebody else
do what you're supposed to do. But yeah, and it's
a great experience to be able to make that at home,
to be able to make coffee for people, you know.
I think about coffee ceremonies that they have in other
countries and how it's a huge deal to have people
come over for coffee. Some people drink coffee like four

(14:45):
times a day.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Listen, my daughter's grandmother. They're Ethiopian and they coffee is
like part coffee was founded. Yes, we're coffee over coffee
and it's like a whole. She brings out trays and
it's a whole having coffee after their meals.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
It's like a whole thing. Sometimes people actually roast the beans.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
She does this old school kind of way. She puts
the beans on a stove that's roasting it. She roast
the beans on the stove that's actually from Ethiopia. When
people do that, it's a whole and it's a beautiful ceremony.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
It's really nice. It's part of like it's part of dinner.
You know, it's like it becomes a whole thing. So
I understand. And also I get espressled one in DC
and it adds up.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Yeah, it's expensive. So to get a machine and make
some great ones at home, I felt like it was
worth it. And now I have one in the studio
and so I'm excited about it. But you went to dinner,
So I went to the dinner with a five course
mil You know what's crazy for me is that I
tend to be such a picky eater, and so I
was able to give them an advance like all of
my food restrictions. But I will say it's hard, like

(15:45):
people think I'm not fun to eat with.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Well because Angel is chicken in Turkey. She doesn't do
fish and red meat. I like any vegetables I'm talking
about in.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Terms of me, in terms of me, Okay, yeah, so
and pretty soon maybe I be having that either, So
that's gonna even be worse.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
Maybe we can, maybe we can try to go be
vegetarian for like thirty days or something.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
I wouldn't mind that, all right, Well, we can experiment.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
But they did make me the best tofu that I've
ever had, oh because I'm never usually a big tofu fan.
But it was really crispy. It was seasoned very well.
Our chef she was Haitian, so she used a lot
of Haitian, a lot of seasonings and coffee, by the way,
some great Creole coffee.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
So it was amazing. We had an amazing meal, I did,
and we had great conversations.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
So thank you to everybody at DeLong eat asnal To
Lara for everybody that was there. Yeah, it was quite
an experience. A five course meal, ending of course with
Tirami sue, which is made with coffee. Yes, and all
the food, by the way, had coffee and fuse in it.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Oh nice.

Speaker 18 (16:47):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
All right.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Now when we come back, we want to discuss something
that was talked about on social media. I actually saw
this while I was at dinner. I was like, ooh,
put my phone away. Shannon Sharp was talking to Britney
Renner and he was caught off guard by what you
have to say about her body count.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Listen to this, I've had sex with thirty five guys.

Speaker 19 (17:09):
Oh lord, impressive?

Speaker 7 (17:12):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Whoo the word?

Speaker 19 (17:14):
So if I'm judged, if I'm judge for having great taste,
we are in a bar, so.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Feel thirty five. By the way he acted like that
was a lot he did. I don't know if I
don't like if I look at it like this, right,
I don't know. I just like if she would have
said one hundred, I would have been like, okay, that's
you know, that's a high number.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Thirty five. I didn't look at it like that was
a crazy amount.

Speaker 13 (17:43):
You know.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Let's just say you're forty years old. Let's say you
started having sex when you were Let's say, sixteen sixteen. Okay,
so let's just say that's twenty four years of having sex,
and so that would be like, on average, like one
and a half people a year for if you were single,
and there's periods of time.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
When you're not.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
And so you know, I just believe in shaming people
on their personal number. And I would never ask anyone
that either, by the way, but eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty. I want to get what your
thoughts are. Is that a lot of people thirty five?

Speaker 1 (18:16):
That number?

Speaker 2 (18:17):
I want to see what you guys thought when you
saw that or heard that just now if you didn't
see it when I saw it yesterday, eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty. Let's talk about this body
count of thirty five? What do you think about that number?
It's way up with Angela Yee eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 7 (18:33):
Yeah, she back at it.

Speaker 13 (18:34):
It bring in the Max.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Way up with Angela Yee is on all right, It's
way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine
Brand is here with me.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Happy Friday, Eve, Angela, Yes, Happy uh Favid Day of
the week for you.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
And we're talking about Shannon Sharp's interview with Britney Renner,
and she was talking about her amount of sexual partners.

Speaker 19 (18:57):
I've had sex with thirty five guys. Oh lord, impressive?

Speaker 12 (19:02):
Is it is?

Speaker 13 (19:03):
The word?

Speaker 19 (19:04):
So if I'm judged, if I'm judge for having great taste, we.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Are in a bar, so help yourself, help yourself. All right?

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Well, I wanted to ask you, Jas and what do
you think is a number that would be a lot?

Speaker 8 (19:20):
Okay?

Speaker 12 (19:20):
To me?

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Thirty five didn't feel like a lot.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
Thirty five didn't feel like a lot to me either. However,
according to Healthline, the average number of sexual partners for
men and women in the US is drum roll please,
what do you think angela?

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Ten seven point two? Okay, so that's very low, but
by that standard, then I don't know what.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Thirty five doesn't sound like a lot to me.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
I think it also depends, right, like if you're married young.
Some people don't get married till later. Some people are
in long term relationships, some people are not. So you know,
there's a lot of contingencies here.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yeah, I would say, I don't no, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
When she said thirty five, I was like, that's it
for her, because also with Brittany Renner, I feel like
she's very free. Yeah, as far as her sexuality, she's
written books about partners. There's partners we know of that
you are famous, so then you always assume, Okay, well,
I'm sure you know, on the average there's other people.

Speaker 8 (20:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
So I wasn't like, oh my god, thirty five people?

Speaker 3 (20:19):
You think she's telling the truth her number.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
I'm gonna be honest with you, Like, I've never sat
down and been like, let me write down my number either.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
When I was younger I did. I'm not gonna lie,
I'm gona be honest. And I was younger I did,
But once I came up like post college, I never
really thought about it, and I don't think to ask
people either.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
So well, let's see what you guys think. Eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty nine, Tina, how are you?

Speaker 1 (20:41):
I am great, I'm good, Thank you. What do you
think about thirty five? Is that a crazy number of
partners to have?

Speaker 13 (20:49):
No?

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Okay, I said the same thing. I was like, that
didn't sound like crazy to me.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
What's a crazy number?

Speaker 12 (20:56):
I mean, I'll say maybe honey, I mean maybe like
I'm forty four, that maybe.

Speaker 14 (21:03):
A little hudge.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Okay, you know, Will Chamberlain slept with twenty thousand women.
That's crazy, that's over one hundred.

Speaker 13 (21:11):
So okay, I don't feel bad at all.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
And listen, we stand with you can stand in solidarity.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
It does right, right, Okay, Yeah, well, thank you for sharing.
She's forty four and she's slept with one hundred people. Okay, Hey, Danira,
how are you?

Speaker 13 (21:28):
No?

Speaker 14 (21:28):
What's going on?

Speaker 12 (21:29):
Good?

Speaker 14 (21:29):
Thing before? I'm doing well?

Speaker 13 (21:30):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (21:30):
I'm good? Okay, it's a man here, so it's a man.
Do you think thirty five is a large number of
sexual partners?

Speaker 14 (21:37):
Listen, listen, I think thirty five is an extremely high number,
one hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
For men to or just women.

Speaker 14 (21:45):
I mean I think it an extremely hot. It's hogh
for both, but more so for women. Undred percent. And
I'm not trying to be biased some nothing like that,
a double standing, but the ticket as a man, I
don't want to hear that, my woman. And then with
thirty five guys more, that's crazy, like how we gonna buy,
how we're gonna connect, how we're gonna pair?

Speaker 2 (22:05):
So would you ever ask them like, would you ever
ask a woman how many people she's been with?

Speaker 14 (22:09):
I mean, tifully speaking, No, I don't ask. You don't
want to, because today what's.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
The maxim a woman can? Her body count? Could be?

Speaker 14 (22:18):
I would say, too, that's a good question, you funny
talk about to No, I would say, like the seven.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Oh my god, how many have you been with?

Speaker 15 (22:29):
Yew?

Speaker 1 (22:30):
How many have you been with?

Speaker 14 (22:32):
That's not what we're talking about.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Yes we are, Yes, we are.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Okay, that's the number. Okay, it's a number higher than
thirty five?

Speaker 12 (22:39):
My number?

Speaker 1 (22:40):
I would yeah, nerve abuse.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
Good night, goodbye, all right, hold it down?

Speaker 1 (22:50):
Do you know what to say? Hold it down? Take you?
What's up?

Speaker 14 (22:54):
What's good?

Speaker 1 (22:55):
What's good? All right? Take you?

Speaker 12 (22:57):
Now.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
I know men and women tend to have a different
opinion on this. It's thirty five.

Speaker 10 (23:01):
A lot of bodies why they tripping on the thirty five?

Speaker 7 (23:05):
That ain't okay?

Speaker 10 (23:07):
No more pastores with thirty with more than thirty five?

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Where are you from?

Speaker 1 (23:12):
An accent is killing me.

Speaker 5 (23:13):
I'm from South Florida, I'm not even from here.

Speaker 10 (23:16):
And yeah, no, thirty five.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Ain't it okay? Okay? What is a high number?

Speaker 8 (23:21):
Five?

Speaker 12 (23:22):
I'm gonna have to.

Speaker 5 (23:23):
I'm gonna have to agree with you, like once you
start hitting that ninety and a hundred marks.

Speaker 7 (23:28):
Yeah, okay, okay, I.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Think it more so has to do with are you
having save sex and are you choosing people who are
respectful to you and who you actually like?

Speaker 1 (23:39):
I mean, anybody could do what they want, you know
what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
If you're single and you're having sex with people who
are also not involved, not married and things like that,
then you know nobody.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Good to go.

Speaker 12 (23:50):
Yeah, yeah, I mean you do what you want to
do with who you want to do it with.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
I mean, you have sex with one hundred people who
are also single than five married people.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (24:01):
I agree with that.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Okay, Well, thank you all the time. Okay, love your
accent I do too. All right, Well that was interesting.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
See a man said thirty five is not a lot,
And like I said, let's not forget Will Chamberlain had
sex with twenty thousand women and wrote about it. I
don't know that he remembers them all. All right, when
we come back, we have a yet, let's talk about
sexy red. How mad would you be if you laid
up with your side, dude, and then he posts you
on his page while you sleep.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
It's way up at Angela yee, they say, rooms from.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Industry shade to all of gossip out Angela's spilling that yet.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Yes, it is way up at Angela yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Jasmine brand is here, yes, any brand, I'm my own
brand all right now. According to TMZ, Britney spears the
latest thing on Instagram. She had those knives, yes, and
people were concerned, and they were concerned enough that the
police actually visited her home to make sure that she
was safe. Law enforcement sources said they received a call

(25:04):
yesterday expressing concern for Brittany.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
They said she was home.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Deputies were able to speak with her and determine that
she was okay, so they left. But several people did
call the cops after she posted that knife video, and
one of them is a person who actually did a
welfare check on her in the past and was alarmed
all right now after she showed up her knife skill.
She did have like a gash on her leg a
bandage on her arm, So she didn't say how she

(25:29):
got these injuries, but people believe they were caused by
the knives and that's what may have caused the welfare
check calls.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
This is kind of sad because she seems a little
unwell sometimes in these videos.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
A little yeah yeah, nice And I don't know what
anybody can really do, like what can happen? All right?

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Snoop Dogg has revealed that he really really wants to
host a kids show. He was speaking with Distractify and
he said he could provide them with advice, laughs, knowledge,
and more. He said, I can see it where it's
like they come to me for advice, for information, for fun,
for wisdom, for knowledge. That's something that I haven't done.
And I feel like I'm setting up with the things
I do in real life. The kids are our future.
So you know, if I do things for the kids

(26:07):
when I'm going to lay still, when I'm going to
lay still, gonna be here pushing the line.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
Okay. I can see him doing that, right yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
And he's worked with kids like football and things like that,
and so he has coached Snoop, Yeah, coach Snoop and
so he just coached them in real life.

Speaker 12 (26:20):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
All right.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Lil Wayne has dropped the track list and also a
release date for The Fix before the sixth album. He
announced that album earlier this month and he revealed that
it's going to be coming out September twenty ninth.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
That is tomorrow. That's my brother's birthday.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Oh nice, happy birthday.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
He has ten songs and so what we're excited for
that John Batista's on their euro and Fouchet.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
So only three features, okay, and he has a song
named after two chains. I see that, titty boy. That's exciting.
So getting ready to do that. Actually, that's really soon.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
An ice Cube has announced his first solo album in
five years. He was talking with Chuck d and he
revealed that he's adding the Finishing Touches to his next
album and it will be ready for release very soon.
And when talking about his career, he said, it is
a blessing really. For one, I made a promise to
myself when I got in this business that I wouldn't
let it change who I am as a person. So

(27:12):
I was always willing to let the chips fall where
they may and not worry about I can't do this,
or my career will be over, or if I do this,
will this happen.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
I like ice Cube because he was one of the
first to kind of do music and then transition into film.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Very successfully transition into film. All right, Yogatti has announced
Gangster Art too, the CMG compilation album that's going to
be dropping this week.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
This is going to be a good week for music, right, yes,
for music.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
So tomorrow and if you guys recall last summer they
did the first installment of Gangster Art that was twenty
seven tracks on there, and so now he has unveiled
the sequel is coming tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Okay, cool, all right, so let's get ready for that
big announcement.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Maybe gonna talk about Angel Simmons on there, I gues
did y'all.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
See Black Youngster performing and falling? Yes, multiple times? But
what about that first wee he slid? He's so funny.
Have you any him before?

Speaker 2 (28:03):
I'm sure he's been on lip Service many times, one
times for like messing a lot. We actually did a
dating game with him on lip Service that you have
to watch if you haven't ever seen it. We had
women come up and they were competing for the love
of Black Youngster.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
He's hilarious, all right now, Sexy read her side.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Dude has apologized for his Instagram lib where he actually
showed her laying in the bed sleeping. He said, damn,
I'm sorry, gang sexy read he posted her and you know,
at first she had posted like her legs with one
leg intertwined in between with a monitoring device around the ankle.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Boosey had to acknowledge that it was not him, you know,
but now we know who it is. Woodoo. Her toes
look good, she has little has a cute little feet.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
She started only fans for that, all right, And let's
talk about your guy, No Jumper. He recently was on
his podcast Adam twenty two and he was talking about
Drake and actually seeing Drake's penis not in person.

Speaker 6 (29:06):
And she just showed me Drake's on her phone.

Speaker 13 (29:09):
And I'm not gonna lie, like I'm sure you're wondering
right now, Adam.

Speaker 6 (29:11):
Was it big? Was a small? The man's got a
missile on him, that's what.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Missile is a strong word to describe another man's penis.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Yes, And when I tell you, they was lighting him
up in the comments.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Angela, does Drake give you big d vibes?

Speaker 2 (29:26):
I don't know. I think it's hard to ever tell
what somebody has. You know, It's hard, okay, because it
looks are very deceptive.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
And how do we know that was Drake's penis?

Speaker 2 (29:37):
It's probably a woman that had been with him. And
I will say this, I have heard that in the past.
He has definitely sent.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
Out a lot of pictures. He's one of those. Yeah,
he's one of those like, here's mine.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
It must be big if he's sending it out. Yeah,
if you're proud like that. Yeah, those are the guys
that are quick to be like, let's get it on,
and they know they know.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
You know what they're working with. All right, Well that
is your ut and when we come back, we have
under the radar.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
These are the stories that are flying under the radar,
but we definitely feel like you need to know them.
And one of them has to do with the airline
we fly on all the time, Delta. All right, it's
way up at Angela.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
Yeah, news, this in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
What's up? Its way up at Angela yea. I'm Angela ye.
And Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
I'm here Angelo in a cough chop, Yes, okay, I'm
trying to get it situated.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
And it's time for under the radar.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
These stories are not necessarily in the headlines, but we
care about them and we feel they're important.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
All right.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
The CEO of Delta, Ed Bastian, had talked about modifications
to the recent program overhaul. There was a lot of
backlash over Delta Airlines and its loyalty program. That's how
Jeff Blue said they would match whatever program, whatever status
you have with Delta. Oh, they've done that before too,
they and I see now a lot of other airlines

(30:54):
are taking shots and saying this is our opportunity to
snatch some of those loyal customers.

Speaker 13 (30:58):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
So the program changes that they unveiled earlier this month
would reward customers with elite status based on how much
they spent, and they're going to make it a lot
harder to get status. But now they're saying the airline
will make modifications in the next few weeks.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
After people were very mad and upset about it, and
some people are Angela in myself, Hello, Angela was pissed.
I was like Jasmine all right now.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
A large international study has confirmed that the COVID nineteen
vaccination did increase menstrual cycle lengths for people. The increase
was not associated with any change in the number of
days of bleeding. So the studies principal investigator said, these
findings provide additional information for counseling women on what to

(31:47):
expect after vaccination. So a change in cycle length of
less than eight days is considered within the normal range
of variation, although small mentual changes may not be meaningful
to healthcare professionals, and research is to study perceived changes
and a bodily functional link to fertility that may be
alarming to those experiencing it and could contribute to vaccine
hesitant scene. All right, so some people did notice that

(32:09):
they did have an increase in menstrual.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Cycle length more days.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Yeah, and they said, on average, vaccinated people experience an
increase of less than one day in each cycle in
which they were vaccinated. After the first dose, it was
like a point seven to one day increase and a
point five to six day increase after the second dose.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
Okay, I did have the vaccine. I don't know if
it affected my cycle or not.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Mine has been thrown off, but now I'm back to normal,
So there we go. First Jesus, all right, now, let's
talk about what happened in Philly social media influencer who
goes by the name Meatball, was live streaming what happened
on Tuesday night.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Okay, there was a lot of mayhem going on.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Some stores were looted, which included Apple, foot Locker, Lululemon,
at least they said eighteen liquor stores. At least fifty
two people have been arrested so far, and Meatball was
one of those people. She was streaming, and while she
was streaming, she was really detailing what was going on
in Philly.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Here's what that sounded like.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Good?

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Was all right, Well, she's only twenty one years old.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Deja Blackwell is her real name, and she has been
tried to with a burglary, conspiracy, criminal trespass, riot, criminal mischief,
criminal use of communication facility, receipt of stolen property, and
disorderly conduct. On this live stream, she was even saying
that she got her hands on a bottle of Hennessy
and it was you know what, I understand for the
businesses that it affected, it was very difficult for them

(33:40):
to have to go through this. They had to close
all of these stores because the Liquor Control Board actually
in Pennsylvania clothes all forty eight of their retail locations. Yeah,
that's a lot because they were concerned about the safety
of their employees. Now, at least, like I said, fifty
two arrests have been made so far, and other counts
have been filed against at least thirty people so far
as well. And here is what you had to say

(34:03):
after she was streaming live and then ended up getting arrested.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah we can't ya, yo, what are y'all doing?

Speaker 3 (34:09):
We don't got nothing to do with it on huh okay,
all right, so me ball like she was teary eyed
in that muck shop.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Yeah, she bound it out and she will be due
back in I mean back in court, so we'll find
out what happens.

Speaker 7 (34:22):
All right.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Well, you know, we got the Way Up mix at
the top of the hour, plus Tony Tony Tony is
gonna be joining us today. I'm so excited for that one.
It's way up with Angela Yee, just like.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
The talk like they Angela Jean, like they Angela Jee.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Man, she's spilling it all this is yet well, yes,
it is way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
I'm Angela Ye. Jasmine brand is here, Yes, any brand,
I'm my own brand. Leg During the mix.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
We were sitting here shopping for coats for Jasmine's daughter,
who's too I'm like, you gotta get her a designer coat.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Yeah, and I'm on the fence, but I feel like
if we get it big enough, then it couldn't last
for a little bit of a question.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
We're it every day.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
Yeah, all right, now let's get into some Yuti Lizzo
is asking the court in LA to dismiss the quote
ridiculous harassment lawsuits that her former employees have filed against
her this year, and they are saying, according to page six,
that there's at least thirty one lines of defense that
explain why these suits should be thrown out. She's also

(35:20):
requesting a trial by jury in response to the complaints,
and she says that she denies each and every allegation
made against her, citing as one of her defenses that
her ex dancers are guilty of unclean hands, which means
that they are accusing the plaintiff of participating in anything
unethical in relation to the subject of the lawsuit.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
I never heard that term millionaime unclean hands, So I'm
glad you explained it because I was so confused.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
I was like, unclean hands. We got to wash our hands. Yes,
we didn't learn anything from the pandemic, all right. And
in the meantime, one of.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Her ex staffers has spoken out to ABC News in
a Network News exclusive, Asha Daniels. She's a clothing designer
who formerly worked for Lizzo, who sued her and members
of her team last week for alleged racial and sexual
harassment and creating a hostile work environment, amongst other things.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Now she is speaking out, and here's what she had.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
To say about dealing with Lizzo's supervisor, Amanda Nomara, who's
also named in the lawsuit alongside Lizzo.

Speaker 15 (36:18):
I'm coming into work with someone who has physically assaulted me,
with someone who's threatened me, someone who is not allowing
me to go eat when I need to eat.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
All right now. She also says, according to Ashton Daniels, that.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
They were sending out group chats with male Genitalia and
the chat and she told the manager about the issues
and said she was fired without notice or reason. She
also said she was shoved into a clothing rack and
says that Noma would not let her seek medical attention,
and in addition to that, she did say that she

(36:54):
never dealt with Lizzo directly.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
Okay, so that makes it tricky. Yeah, here's what she said.
What about Lizzo herself?

Speaker 11 (37:01):
Since you never interacted with her, how much responsibility do
you think.

Speaker 1 (37:05):
She has in all of this.

Speaker 15 (37:07):
I'm a business owner myself, and I was so shocked
that Lizzo's workplace wasn't in line with who we know
as the star Lizzo. So I can say in my
own life, I'm responsible for the people who work for
me and who work on my projects, and I think
that everybody.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
Is hmm, what do you think because you have a business.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
Yeah, I have a business. It's a big responsibility to
have employees and to be responsible for their behavior. It
kind of comes with it. But it's like it wasn't.
It wasn't Lizzo. So I see both sides of it.
But if that is who she's employed by, it is
you know they should be held responsible at some point.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
All right.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Well, both of those stories came out today, all right,
and Wayne Brady is embracing his authentic self. He talked
to Entertainment tonight and he talked about coming out as
pan sexual and how that has impacted his dating life.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 6 (37:57):
What the hell is pan sexual?

Speaker 9 (37:59):
I look at that its being able to love whomever
I want, no matter the vessel. I'm not saying that
I am going to be in a relationship with another man.
I'm saying it is very possible for me to be
attracted to the man because of the person, and I
can be attracted to this beautiful woman like you because

(38:22):
of the person.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
It gives you a lot of options. Well, it just
gives no.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
It just me to me.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
It means you're by right.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
No, Well, he identifies as pan sexual, so I guess
he's just saying, whoever I like, it has nothing to
do with any type of gender or anything.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
It's just right person.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
And let me I apologize. He is pam sexual, that's
what he calls himself. I shouldn't just downplaine and say.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
Right, because it could be any there's all different type. Listen.
I'm just gonna yeah, Okay, you're right. I didn't even
think about it like that. Okay, all right now.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
Pete Davidson in a Circle allegedly is concerned for his
well being and fears that he could die. According to
a report, The support states that some of his friends
have enabled his behavior, citing instances like openly discussing ketamine
use post rehab. They also are questioning his maturity and
facing his issues and the potential consequences of not taking
them seriously. And unnamed source spoke with the US Sun

(39:15):
and says there's concerns about him and the company that
he keeps that they're just not being honest with him.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
Do you know off the top of your head what
kadamine is because I was trying to google it on.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
A drug Yeah? Okay, yeah, it's not good for you.
It's no good, all right? And this coudter cannot be true.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Rihanna Binge watched ninety Day Fiance during her pregnancies and
even reached out to some of the stars of the show.
I love that story though, yea, they said. She actually
follows one of them, Zaia. She told Page six. She
told me she loved my storyline and loves to watch
the show.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
I see that. I can see that.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
I love the show too. I saw Astra, who works
up here, was out with a big head the other day.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Oh I know who big big head is? Yeah, okay, sorry,
you got excited?

Speaker 13 (39:58):
All right?

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Well that is your yet and when we come back.
I want to talk about lip Service.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
This episode came out on Tuesday, and you know women
sometimes get this, uh.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
This profile of us being very complicated and not knowing
what we want.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
We'll tell you what Tina aka aka Hood Celebrity had
to say on this episode of lip Services.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
Way Up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 10 (40:23):
Yay?

Speaker 7 (40:23):
She back at it.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
Bring Up with Angela Yee is on? Yes, it is
Way Up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine
Brand is here. Yes, Angela and Jasmine.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
I will say that the real Tina aka Hood Celebrity
reminds me of you.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
In this particular segment on lip Service, it felt like
she's not sure. No, she is sure about what she
wants in a relationship, and sometimes what she wants to
contradicts what she wants.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Yeah, okay, so listen to this and tell.

Speaker 12 (40:53):
Me is this you.

Speaker 11 (40:56):
I feel like being on a cancer is probably like
one of the most weirdest thing because I don't like
to be told too much what to do, But then
I like to be told what to do.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
If that makes sense.

Speaker 11 (41:05):
What about I don't want you to be too much
on top of me, but I want you to be
on top of me just enough that I know you there. Yeah,
I don't want you to blow up my phone, but
blow me up. Don't pick me up every day, but
come pick me up.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
Like it's like this this is too confusing, right hmm? Okay,
are you that person? One hundred?

Speaker 3 (41:25):
I am and and Angela. Sometimes you'll say to me
like what like.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
With Jazz, because I'm not that person. Like if I
tell you I just need to be left alone, I
really mean that, well.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
But not leave me all the way alone. Press me out,
but not like crazy press me out, like oh.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Then let me hear this second because she said one
more time? Can you play that please? From her celebrity
aka the Real Tina on lip Service. Okay, sorry, but yeah,
I'm I feel like if I say do something, I
really want you to do what I asked you to do.
I'm not confused, no, And I think that's the problem
of communicating, right, Like, sometimes you got to say what

(42:02):
you really mean, and that gets hard for people because
I'm like, you know what, don't even call me, leave
me alone, and then the person's like okay, yeah, but
then you're like I can't believe you didn't call me.
I want you to go really hard and let's play
it one more time.

Speaker 11 (42:15):
I feel like being with a cancer is probably like
one of the most weirdest things because I don't like
to be told too much what to do, but then
I like to be told what to do.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
If that makes sense.

Speaker 11 (42:25):
What about I don't want you to be too much
on top of me, but I want you to be
on top of me just enough that I don't want
you to blow up my phone, but blow me up, right,
don't pick me up every day, but come pick me
up like it's like this, it's too.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
Confusing, but you under sad right.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
I do agree with her in the part of I
don't want you to blow up my phone, but sometimes
I do want you to blow up my phone, like
when like if you haven't heard from me and I'm busy,
blow like hey baby, okay, everything good, and you hit
me more than once, Like.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Yes, I think that people can get away with that
if you like that person enough. Now what it is, Yes,
when you like somebody, they can get away with things
that someone who you don't necessarily like like that can do.
So if you're like very into somebody and you're on them,
you could tell them to do something, they do the opposite,
and you'd be like, that's amazing. But if I'm off you,
please stop, and I'm telling you to do something and

(43:16):
you're still doing it, that's when I think it becomes
an issue.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
Yeah, I wantant somebody on me that I am into.

Speaker 12 (43:21):
You know.

Speaker 8 (43:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:22):
So as complicated as that all sounds, make sure you
listen to the full episode. You give me even more confused.
But no, I really do love her celebrity aka Tina
because she's going by her real name now okay, and
she does have a new project that's going to be
coming out self Is it a self titled project?

Speaker 7 (43:40):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (43:40):
Okay, all right, well we're going to see. But her
new project is about to drop in October. It's almost October, guys,
Oh my good.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
Next week.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
Yeah, by the time we get back here after the
weekend on Monday, it's going to be October. You know
what that means, bills are due, But that also might
mean for some people you get paid. It does, and
a lot of times we get paid and that money
go right back out to pay those bills are due.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
You know, my least favorite part of October, all these
pumpkin spice, pumpkin.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Lot taste, pumpkin flavor. Ohness, I'm gonna tell you why
I like pumpkin.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
I do like yams.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
I like yams and sweet potatoes, but sometimes it's too sweet.
And then I do like pumpkin cause there's like another
version of it that's not as sweet.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
Can we get to the yams? And you know what
else I love this month?

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Why Halloween? And you love scary movie and I love
a scary movie. And let me tell you baby, Saw
is out?

Speaker 1 (44:35):
Are you gonna go see it? I am going to
see Saw tomorrow? And next week the Exorcist is out?
Are you gonna go see that?

Speaker 2 (44:40):
I'm gonna go see that. I have not seen a
nun too yet, but I do want to see that.
And there's a whole bunch of scary movies that's about
to come out. As a matter of fact, y'all hit
me up on social media if you watch any of
the new ones that are out on any of these
streaming platforms, if you have any suggestions of what I
should be watching, you know, I love it. You're strange
and they better be scary, don't be sent and nothing

(45:00):
that's not but Tony Tony Tony is going to be
joining us very shortly, and y'all know I was really
really hype for that.

Speaker 13 (45:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
And they're on their first tour in twenty five years
with the original members of the group, and so we'll
be discussing all that. And you know, as a Tony
Tony Tony fan, I pay attention to the lyrics. Ooh okay,
And I have this theory about the song lay your
head on my pillow, lay your head old mop, So

(45:27):
visualize yourself laying your head on a man's pillow is
his lip service. And he's telling you, Jess, relax, and
he's saying, this gift is meant for you.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
What does that mean? We're gonna find out is Tony
Tony Tony when we come back and you Angela ye yeah?

Speaker 2 (45:46):
This way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela yea. And
Jasmine brand is here yes.

Speaker 10 (45:50):
Now.

Speaker 2 (45:50):
People are already asking me if I'm going to the
BT Hip Hop Awards.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
When is that October?

Speaker 6 (45:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (45:57):
Are you going?

Speaker 1 (45:57):
Jasmine?

Speaker 13 (45:58):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (45:59):
Are we going?

Speaker 3 (46:00):
I didn't plan on it, Angela and I didn't plan
on it.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
It's going to be October tenth, so that's kind of soon.
It's next weekend.

Speaker 2 (46:10):
And just so you guys know, they have revealed who's
going to be at who's going to be performing Offset,
Oh Nice, Sexy Red, Ludacris, Glo, Rilla five Yeoh for men,
and they're also honoring so So Deaf, Oh nice. And
in the Ciphers there's gonna be bun Bee, Cassidy, Lola Brook, Simba,
Lady London, Scarlet, Maya, the Don and Moore Angela.

Speaker 13 (46:33):

Speaker 1 (46:35):
Are you going to do another cipher this year? I
need to. I definitely need to have a new drop
for you.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
And Fat Joe is hosting, by the way, oh nice, Yes,
I remember when that all started.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
The Ciphers.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
No with Fat Joe, I'm doing a lot of these
hostings for bet That's dope. Well that's differ So a
DJ tribute from Scott Storree, Spinderella Cool, DJ Red Alert
and Kid.

Speaker 1 (46:56):
Cood, pri Good pret Good, Preak Good, Preak. I love
all of those DJs. I just want to put that
out there.

Speaker 3 (47:01):
Now, what were you saying, Jazzine, I was gonna say,
I feel like he started getting a lot of momentum
after he was doing those lives and he's a great
storyteller and people were really enjoying that, like, oh wow,
wait a minute, we do you have something here?

Speaker 2 (47:12):
Yeah, this is gonna be a good win. So Timberland
and Swiss Beats are going to be doing this year ciphers. Okay,
you know, like I said, Bumbe, Cassidy, Lolabrooks, Simba, Foggy Raw,
Lady London Scarlet, DJ e Feazy and DJ Runner and
also digital ciphers that Mexican ot he was up here.
It was Maya the Don, DJ Head and Linelle Grant.

Speaker 1 (47:34):
So twenty one.

Speaker 2 (47:35):
Savage and Cardi B have the most nominations with twelve each,
followed by Drake with nine, and then DJ Khalid and
Burna Boy with seven. J Cole has six, Jay Z,
Gloriala and Coila Ray have five each. Okay, yeah, so
that's gonna be it. I feel like that'll be a
good show this year. But course when we come back,
I'm so excited for this. Tony Tony Tony is joining us.

(47:56):
It's gonna be a fun time. It's way up with Angelaye, Tony, Tony,
Tony next.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
You guy, the way you up with Angela?

Speaker 15 (48:01):
Yee?

Speaker 1 (48:02):
What's up? It's way up?

Speaker 2 (48:03):
With Angela Yee. I'm Angela Ye. Jasmine from the Jasmin
brand dot com is here. Yes, and look, one of
my favorite groups of all time is here. Tony Tony
Tony in the building.

Speaker 1 (48:12):
Yes, thank you you guys.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
This is the first time you've been on tour in
twenty five years as Tony Tony Tony, the original members
of the group. So Tim, let's talk about everybody's individual adventures.
You know, during the past twenty five years of Tony
Tony Tony, the original members not being together, what were.

Speaker 1 (48:31):
You up to.

Speaker 6 (48:32):
I'm did some production and some couple of little scoring
things and raising my family.

Speaker 1 (48:38):
That's important.

Speaker 13 (48:39):
It did an amazing job.

Speaker 6 (48:40):
Yes, hell yeah, dude, I'll see your fads. You really
did that.

Speaker 18 (48:44):
Man, all in to college, all doing the thing and focus.
I'm so prouding Ooh, he's my role model.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
All right now, I'm Doane.

Speaker 2 (48:51):
I have a message for you, but let's talk about
what you've been well her, because I know you worked
with her.

Speaker 1 (48:56):
She actually sent me a message.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
She said, tell him I miss him and appreciate him
for teaming up with my dad and forming my first
band and low key him and my dad were my
first managers slash agents something I have to say.

Speaker 18 (49:08):
I'm so thankful because every artist that I've had the
opportunity to what they may say, groom or whatever else,
I always felt like they were grooming me as a man.
You know what I mean, because I took when I
first signed Destiny Show, I took that as like it
was thirteen to fourteen and my daughter was like eight.

Speaker 6 (49:24):
Nine and stuff, and I learned how to deal with
her and certain things and stuff.

Speaker 18 (49:27):
And then when I got to working with her and
then Sindana and Kaylani and all that be and my
son's dealing and Jaden producing music. You know, I was
just trying to keep my kids around the right energy,
and all of a sudden they became this supergroup before
my eyes, and that I was exposing. So if I
go meet with Santana, I take me. I want you
guy to see how things work out, how it really
works out. Or Alicia Keys, you see behind the scenes stuff,

(49:50):
so her now, I mean, they're my role models.

Speaker 6 (49:53):
I look at them and they keeping me focused.

Speaker 1 (49:56):
That's dope.

Speaker 6 (49:56):
She's doing. Like I always said, hey, follow you up.

Speaker 18 (50:00):
Ah, you will never work a day in your life,
and that it's all about performing live and when I'll
see her working, I was like, that's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
Yeah, because Destiny's Child had to be a crash course
in working with you know, because they were, like you said,
thirteen and fourteen years old.

Speaker 6 (50:12):
Whole nother type of deal.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
Right now, Jasmine Brand is here and we are talking
to the iconic Tony Tony Tony. Now, Raphael, we know
you've been working in television and film. Yeah, I mean
you've been doing it like Lucy Pearl came out, you
know during that time, you put out your solo projects too,
and you guys have worked on solo projects as well.
So tell us what that period of twenty five years

(50:35):
of not.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
Being with the band was Like, it was dope.

Speaker 13 (50:39):
No, we've been out here.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
That's the same things.

Speaker 13 (50:48):
No, because we've been out here, like on the road,
just like saying it crazy and stuff like kind of
get our like that's how crazy we.

Speaker 6 (50:55):
Are, Like they go crazy on the stage.

Speaker 13 (50:57):
Yeah, it's the same thing, Like we just like crazy,
you know, super souper goofy.

Speaker 7 (51:01):
But it was cool.

Speaker 13 (51:02):
It was like I said, I was good on my own,
but I was I'm always better with him. I never
would have been a singer, like you said, me and
him didn't sing. He'll tell anybody he know. I hated singing.
I didn't want to have nothing to do with it.

Speaker 3 (51:14):
Why crazy you didn't like your Why he was a
bass player?

Speaker 13 (51:17):
I was hiding behind it. I was hiding behind the base.
It was cool. I didn't want to be the person
that be in the crossbow. How's everybody doing? I was
so intimidated about all of that, you know. So when
we were in bands, we would hired a person. I
would say. When I was at the band, I would say,
we gotta find a clown. I called it the least
a clown.

Speaker 1 (51:34):
Oh my gosh, because.

Speaker 13 (51:37):
That's what I should say all the time. I'm like,
we need to find a clown.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
You are a character.

Speaker 13 (51:42):
But that's when I meant because they.

Speaker 6 (51:44):
Could like they could supposed to be compliments.

Speaker 13 (51:46):
Compliment Yeah, father, he was after the show, he looked
at us and y'all ain't clowned enough.

Speaker 1 (51:54):
Okay, wow, okay, now I understand got it from right.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
I have a question because Angela thinks that the song
means something.

Speaker 1 (52:01):
Else, listening to everybody that you may or may not be.

Speaker 3 (52:04):
So my favorite song is lay your head on my pillow,
like I don't know the song anyway, and she says
that it means something sexual part really lay your head
and like just for a man, I said, it means
for him to perform, and that's what that's what she
told me.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
And so I said, oh, I didn't know that, but
it sounds good. Lay ahead on my pillow and just relaxed.
Is that you were false? It's a gift your mam la.
We want to hear.

Speaker 18 (52:30):
So I remember I was talking about when you put
the lyric relast yes, And I said, man, I don't
know about saying that you said, but that's what you
were saying when you said okay, okay, So anyway the
song came about you was laying the melody down there.

Speaker 6 (52:49):
And I was playing guitar and I saw.

Speaker 20 (52:51):
Saying lay your head on my pillow whatever. Kept doing
that and then ray with and just real last real,
lad no, we gotta put some more just relax like no,
that's what you were saying. What I was it was like,
see it is, oh, I remember that was Terry.

Speaker 13 (53:12):
His first is one of his first.

Speaker 2 (53:19):
Ca okay, so so Angela's right, So it is about
that pretty much thank you do not tell me that.

Speaker 12 (53:28):
No, no, no.

Speaker 13 (53:28):
If you have went to the park, it says like,
just relax your the brother knows my treasure. You go
down and find my place. See yeah, let me see
where my pearl is at that.

Speaker 1 (53:40):
So it is about that. How you is that?

Speaker 3 (53:42):
How you realize what it was about.

Speaker 18 (53:44):
You're not just trying to come out and say a girl,
do let me get it in and all nobody. Yeah,
the brothers in between the sheets.

Speaker 13 (53:51):
You have brother When you have brothers in the house
and the house is small, you can't help but walk by.
When you're young and you hear something, you just stop
by the door.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
Like it was a lot of Dwayne, you know, he
had the band before that.

Speaker 13 (54:07):
Dwayne had a van, had a vand with a bed
in it. In the tenth grade.

Speaker 6 (54:14):
It was an make sure bit.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
It wasn't like, I mean, it's a concept air mattress.

Speaker 12 (54:18):
It was.

Speaker 13 (54:19):
It was a really nice van. It wasn't like some
tacky man. It was really nice. Everybody knew it. So
we have different We have different mothers. Some guy and
my mother's a super like sisters.

Speaker 12 (54:30):
Right.

Speaker 13 (54:31):
So I lived maybe fifteen blocks from doing right, but
I was always at their house all the time, more
than I was in mine. But the guys in my
neighborhood when I would come on the neighborood, Bro your brother. Man.
We was at a club last night and Bro just
drove up and took all the girls off in his van.

Speaker 1 (54:48):
Oh my god, this is always happening. Heartbeats, it is, y'all.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
Really yeah, definitely need a movie.

Speaker 13 (54:57):
Then we grew up and had a record deal. Then
Dwayne started having these like you know, uh, the vans
at the hotels have the ones the party vent. So
then he will pull up to the pub and take
everybody from Oakland to San Francisco, all the girls, and
I will wake up and people call me like, Bro,
come on, your brother did it again? He took all
the baddest chicks out of the club, said karaoke bus,

(55:20):
the carry the wireless mike.

Speaker 6 (55:23):
You get on there and you can pull up. And
it just turned into the party all right.

Speaker 1 (55:26):
Well, Tony Tony Tony is in the building.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
Their first ever reunion tour in twenty five years, the
three of them all together on the road. I think
it just started, like last week. We have more with
them when we come back. It's the Way Up at
Angela Yee.

Speaker 17 (55:39):
Hey, yeah, she back at it.

Speaker 2 (55:44):
Bring the Way Up with Angela Yee is on What's
Up Its Way Up with Angela Ye, I'm Angela Yee.
Jasmine brand is here and you shared my love for
Tony Tony Tony and you have a new album that
you guys are working on, which makes complete sense, right,
Is it really gonna come out?

Speaker 13 (55:59):
It's gonna come yeah, do you have? We just we
didn't have time to finish an album and do the tour.
You know, that's the marketing thing. You do an album
and then you come out and do the tour. But
we want to make great albums, so we don't want
to rush it for a tour.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
How much of it is done so far, I.

Speaker 13 (56:12):
Mean it's it's really still raw. It's a lot of
different ideas. All of us have ideas, but it's like
that's how we work. But this has help because now
we're motivated from a tour. It always if you go
on the tour, makeing album, album is always better.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
Okay for you.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
You've had a chance to do cup it and that
was supposed to be a Tony Tony Tony song.

Speaker 13 (56:30):
Well it was going to be a Tony song. But
I told my friend Damien, this is gonna be a
Tony song. But I think it could work great for
me because she has a billion eyeballs on her. She's
the hardest worker. And then show a bit she has
dream as a writer. You know, dream got on and
now Rogers got on it and it became a whole

(56:51):
different thing, you know.

Speaker 6 (56:52):
But the horns?

Speaker 13 (56:53):
Is that that that that you know? It was something
I put together but in thinking about us getting together,
but we got a lot more. You know, you gotta
be able to give it away?

Speaker 1 (57:03):
Is that hard though? When you're like, this is great
for us, but it is, No lady, that's a beautiful song.

Speaker 6 (57:11):
Is that was something that you get laid out for?
Yeah too, And all of a.

Speaker 11 (57:15):
Sudden you're like, hold up, yeah, we wouldn't beeping.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
About that one.

Speaker 13 (57:20):
Let you know, when you work with people, I like
working artists that you know that they're gonna take what
you did and take it to the next level. And
that's what That's what B did and that's what d did.
You know, So if you can work with an artist,
you know, I gotta Retha Franklin if you sing a
song and then I sing it in Arita Singer. Yeah,
I got a different world. So if somebody, if it
wasn't a Beyonce it, I was probably like nah.

Speaker 2 (57:42):
Right now, Jasmine brand is here and we are talking
to the iconic Tony Tony Tony. What about the business
side of things for Tony Tony Tony? Have y'all always
been able? Because I know a lot of artists talk
about getting their first deal and how things weren't maybe
right with the paperwork.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
You know, how has that been for you guys? Business?

Speaker 6 (58:00):
That's the great learning.

Speaker 13 (58:02):
That's his best answer. No, no, no, no, man, six
thousand dollars.

Speaker 1 (58:08):
Wait what first deal?

Speaker 6 (58:10):
Yeah, our first deal?

Speaker 13 (58:12):
You're right on plant.

Speaker 6 (58:13):
We got six thousand dollars each. Now is that a
bad deal?

Speaker 1 (58:16):
We feel like it feels like it like it feels
bad because.

Speaker 18 (58:24):
Budget, with the budget. But the point is we didn't
go into the studio thinking about money. We went in
there just want we just want to get on stage
and kill.

Speaker 13 (58:32):
This week, we had a huge opportunity to sign to
Wing Records, which was ed ex Stein, Billy x Steyn's son.
He gave us a lot of freedom. We always didn't
see I the eye as I was growing up and
trying to figure out things. But I always say he
left it open for us. You know, he didn't. He didn't,
he didn't. He didn't bother us. He let us make
the music that we thought we could make. He gave

(58:52):
us opportunity and a budget to go somewhere on the
second album and say just go do what you do.
And that's that's why we're here today, because because of Ed, who.

Speaker 2 (58:59):
Made the call to get back together. How did that
even happen to say let's do this.

Speaker 6 (59:05):
He didn't even make the call. He just made the call.
He threw out a billboard and we saw your pictures
back in the day.

Speaker 18 (59:11):
And I'm out at Land on this ranch and he's
somewhere whatever, and I get a call from someone takes
me a picture and I thought they super opposed the
picture with us.

Speaker 6 (59:20):
Oh that's pretty cool. That least cool that I know.
It's a billboard.

Speaker 13 (59:23):
I was like, the billboard the three of us, a
pictures together photo session. I was talking to my boy
Karby from Piarra Mars we put together photo session. I
was like, you know, let's put up a billboard in
Oakland where we started and just put it up and
they were walking down the street and they will see it.
People would start putting it, they start trending. He's like,
do you put a billboard up? I'm like, no, I

(59:43):
don't know what you're talking about. To them, that's how
they knew it was real. But I always knew it
was real. Right, we're going to do it. And I
think if they didn't think it was real until they
saw this billboard up.

Speaker 6 (59:53):
Right, Okay, yeah, you really do it? You ready?

Speaker 18 (59:57):
Because we knew, like you know, he had a busy schedule,
so he knew when he ready, we're ready.

Speaker 6 (01:00:02):
So when he did that, I was like, he's ready,
let's get it. Let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:04:36):
All right, Well that was ask ye eight hundred fifty.
What I learned from that, Guys, if you want to
ask somebody out, have a plan. You don't have a
certain restaurant that you know is nice that you could
take somebody to.

Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
You got to have if you want to go to
the movies, a theater that you think would be good.

Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
You know, just think about those things before you call
a young lady and ask her on a date, especially
on air like that is ask ye when we come back.

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
You guys, get the last word Way up with Angela Yee.

me all day on her favorite day of the week.
We're trying to figure out if we're going out tonight,
are we We're trying to decide.

Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Yeah, all I need you to be decisive. Well, let's
flip a coin. Okay, do y'all do this? Do you
have flip a coin to decide what it is that
you want to do. I think it's a good idea.
All right, let's figure that out. To flip a coin.
Where's the coin? Is it heads?

Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
We go out, tills, we stay in? Yeah, and it
does anyone on a coin? Can I flip this on cash?

Speaker 5 (01:05:45):
App?

Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
I don't have a coin. If there's a coin, flip app,
I bet there is. All right, while you get that.

Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
Together, I want to thank Tony Tony Tony for coming
through this weekend I'll tell you where I Am going
to go see them at Radio City in New York.
And make sure you guys check them out at a
location at a venue near you while they are on tour.

Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
And also this is heads and this is tails. I'm
sure her last.

Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
No, we're not doing it. No, we need a coin
for real. You get that together.

Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Also, make sure you watch the full Tony Tony Tony
interview on my YouTube page.

Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Way up with Ye.

Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
This is very exciting for me and I want to
thank you guys just for rocking with us as always.
You know, we'll be back on a Friday, and Friday
is always a lit day. I'm trying to decide right
now how I'm feeling if tomorrow is going to be
uh it's Friday or it's you know where we actually
partake in in what celebrations, That's what I like to

(01:06:39):
call it celebrations.

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Okay, all right?

Speaker 2 (01:06:41):
And of course you guys can always call us up
eight hundred two fifty. That number is for you to
shine a light, it's for you to tell us a secret,
it's for you to answer the question.

Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
Is thirty five bodies a lot? Nope?

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
And that was the big question today coming out of
the Shannon Sharp Britney Runner interview that we were talking about.
It's for you to basically do anything you want and
ask you That's another way that you can participate in
the show, and we will answer those questions when.

Speaker 1 (01:07:07):
You leave a message. So as usual, will you guys
have the last word.

Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
You can talk about anything that happened on the show
today in case you couldn't get through.

Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
Perfect way to leave a message and still have your
voice heard.

Speaker 10 (01:07:18):
I just wanted to chime in on this body count
discourse because I'm a gay male in a very gay city,
and every gay male that I know has had sex
with at least two hundred men.

Speaker 7 (01:07:30):
I had sex with probably one hundred men this year. Okay,
So the whole body count discourse, in turn, like for
the LGBTQ community, is child's play. Like that is a
dumb conversation that nobody really should be having, nor should
we be shaming each other for it. If you actually
care about the person who you're sleeping with, body count

(01:07:51):
your child.

Speaker 5 (01:07:52):
I just want to shine a light on my little sister, Marquito.
She has she has five kid She's working at the
post office, she's doing an amazing job. This is my
first time calling, but I just want her to know
to keep pushing. She's doing great, great, great great. I
love you, and I appreciate you for being there for

(01:08:13):
me and my kids as well, and continue to do
a thing because I'm.

Speaker 19 (01:08:17):
I don't think that lady was wrong for her count
of thirty five. I will be fifty this year, and
that's about all I.

Speaker 12 (01:08:25):
Can remember is maybe thirty five, so I know it's
way more than that.

Speaker 5 (01:08:29):
People need to get over themselves.

Speaker 17 (01:08:31):
I started having sexonm now I was seventeen years old.

Speaker 20 (01:08:34):
Who knows.

Speaker 5 (01:08:35):
I don't know how that's your girl?

Speaker 14 (01:08:37):
