Speaker 3 (01:47):
No, well, at any rate, we have allowed to get
into today, and let's shine a light on him. I
want to shine a light on Canelo Alvarez. Eight hundred
fifty one fifty is a number, call itself a shine
of light on its way up with Angela.
Speaker 9 (02:01):
Ye, turn your lights on, y'all spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
Shine a light on.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yes, it is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And hey, Jasmine brim.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Hey, Angela Hey. MANO proposed to me, he did.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
I just I just saw some footage that really inspired me.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Well, I'm going to bet against that because because it's
MAINO can talk about this bed later last night, but
in the meantime, let's shine a light in today. I
want to shut shine a light on in this building
where iheard is located. There's some amazing people that run
this building, that really work here, that go above and beyond,
(02:51):
and we want to shut out Donovan who works in
the building. He wanted us to make sure that we
showed some love to his wife, Tasha. Happy birthday, Tasha.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Happy birthday, Tasha.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
And honestly like to come in every day and when
we're checking in downstairs, everybody's always polite, friendly. When we
have guests coming through, they handle it. Just the people
that work down stairs. First of all, it seems like
a good fun time. They sound like they have everybody
get along with each other. I shout out to Keana
who actually manages the building, okay, and also Chris, who,
(03:21):
by the way, looks very much like.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Love Chris God.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
But happy birthday to you, Tasha. And shout out to
you Donovan. For every single day that we come in,
you're smiling whenever I leave. Y'all work really hard and
it doesn't go unnoticed. Yes, just all the work that
they do. So we want to show some love to that.
And everybody do that. Wherever it is that you're working.
If there's somebody that manages the building, that works at
the building, whoever it is that you have to see
every single day, just make sure you're always showing them some.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
Love because I keep this building going.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah, and you'll be sad if one day you come in,
You're like, where is such and such?
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Right?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
It means a lot.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
I just think about miss Anita, who was working with
us at iHeart for so long. She finally was able
to rete, but we get her all the time, and
the last building we used to work in before we
moved here this year.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Just you know, we just want to make sure we
show everybody some love. Y'all.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Really keep the lights on, all right, and who do
you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Let's started with some positivity.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Oh and also Canelo Alvarez of course for helping me
win my bet.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Again, you didn't know anybody.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
We're gonna get to that audio a little later, but
let's see who you want to shine a light on.
Speaker 9 (04:25):
What the rooms from industry shade to all the gods out?
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Angela's spiling that. It's the way you put Angela On a.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Monday, October second bills are due, which reminds me how
to pay mind.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Jasmine brand is here. You just say yes to bill.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
I'm excited about it being a new month.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Mayor your bill is due. Bet you lost, but.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Let's get out.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
We'll talk about it and about last night. But first
let's discuss elon Musk. His first wife has a book
out and she's called the quote Started Wife, and the
book is called I was a Starter Wife, right, And
she's talking about the different things that they went through
when they first got married, and at one point she
(05:13):
felt like she was his employee, not his wife. And
you know what he said to her, if you are
my employee, I'd fire you.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Oh okay, I definitely can see him saying that.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
But they actually met at university in Ontario, Canada. She's
an aspiring writer. She met him. Their initial interaction was
a miscommunication about having met at a party, but eventually
he did catch her attention. They started dating and then
they went their separate ways but reunited when he moved
to Silicon Valley. Now, apparently they had a lot of
(05:42):
ups and downs in the beginning of their relationship and
their marriage, and they actually had a baby, and then
the baby died from sudden infant death syndrome at ten
weeks old, and she said after that happened, he withdrew
and avoided discussing the death of their baby and said
that her grieving was emotionally manipulative. So then she was
(06:04):
on a quest to become pregnant again, and over the
next five years she gave birth to twins and then
triplets by him.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, and then during.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
This time she also pursued her literary ambitions. She sold
novels to renown publishers. Everything was good, you know, he
had sold his company, made a lot of money. And
then she said things got increasingly alienated. He was more
engross in his work, he got emotionally distant. Their conversations
became contentious, and she was involved in a car accident
(06:32):
and her first thought wasn't that she was okay, and
she wasn't relieved.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
She was scared of what his reaction would be.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
And that's when she realized that she became a trophy
wife and that she just couldn't deal with it. They
went to counseling and then he said they had to
resolve their issues within a day. That was the ultimatum,
and when they didn't, he filed for divorce the following morning.
Speaker 10 (06:53):
This does not sound like a fun time, yes in
law now so just an interesting read.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
By the way, I was a starter wife. That's her
account that she wrote for Marie Claire. If you guys
want to check that out. Other breakups, let's discuss Tamar
Braxton is single again. Her and her boyfriend Jeremy Robinson
had broken up. Actually met them. I met him with
her at Patti Labelle's house.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yeah you told me that.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah, they were there together, and he posted so many questions,
so many assumptions. I want to answer all that I
can with respect. Yes, Tamar and I are no longer together.
I ended the relationship to focus on getting back to
positive energy and being a better person. What happened and why,
that's our private place. But he did say he never cheated.
Speaker 10 (07:35):
Okay, So they broke up because he wanted to focus
on getting back to his positive self.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Right, So he was not a positive person.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
It negative self.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
But I will say in a relationship, if you feel
like you're not being yourself and you're not happier, get
out of there and there's some things to work on.
Maybe you don't have to get out, but to get out.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
He got out.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Well, much love to both of them.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yes, now let's talk about this event that happened.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
I would thought you was going to be there, This
Reform Alliance event that Jay Z, Meek Mill, Michael Rubin,
all of them threw together in Atlantic City. I saw
fab was there too. A lot of people were there
and Kevin Hart was hosting. We saw La La, Kim Kardashian,
Tom Brady, Quavo, and Travis Scott performed.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Derek Jeter was there.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
According to page six, they were ten to fifteen helicopters
chauffeuring guests from New York City airports to Atlantic City
throughout the night. So it was basically just to raise
money for Reform Alliance, and that money does go to
helping people and also dealing with reform, you know, justice
for prison reform. All right, So Kim Kardashian and Tom
(08:45):
Brady both spent two million dollars at the art ouption,
and according to reports, they were very flirty with each other,
so who knows if that's true or not. Also, Meek
Mill was talking about his because Meek mil did host
this event. Meek Mill and Records, I've been doing a
ton of interview was But Mick Mel sat down with
Swaggy See and he talked about his close friendship with Drake.
Imagine going from being enemies to becoming close friends.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Here's what he.
Speaker 11 (09:08):
Said, me and Drake talking to each other a lot.
I see people see stuff about Drake other than this
is a joint. Somebody was saying, Drake, slim y'all was corner.
I test him. I was like, I don't think Slim
you out corner. And I would tell you if I
thought it was corner. I just ain't think the song
was corny. Now we got it like that where we
could be brutal. I thought that if you think my
song corny, he could tell me that. We never was
at a space like that before the beef, and then
(09:31):
now we got to a space where we could text
each other and say anything.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Okay, damn man, how would you feel like somebody texted
you and like if fab said, Yo, your song is corny?
Speaker 5 (09:41):
Oh man, I don't don't. I don't see I don't.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
Are you close enough for anybody.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
To absolutely but I wouldn't say that.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Jimmy. What if Jim Jones was like.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
I wouldn't say that song is I wouldn't use those words.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
What would you?
Speaker 4 (09:54):
What kind of language did you if I.
Speaker 7 (09:56):
Was ever in a conversation like that, I was like, well,
I don't know if that's what that one is?
Speaker 8 (09:59):
It?
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
All right, Well I can't wait to get to this
that was your yet when we come back, We're gonna
do about last night. And I know a lot of
us were watching the fight and a lot of us
heard the bet that was made. We're gonna replay that
for you all right about last night when we come back.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
That's the way up at Angela yee.
Speaker 9 (10:15):
Yeah, last night, So about last night last night, last
night es I went down.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Yes, it is way up at Angela yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Jasmine brand is here, yes, and morning all about Mano
right now. So over the weekend, by the way, Friday
was a wash. Literally everything got canceled. I was supposed
to be doing an event with Daily Paper with my
coffee company, Coffee Uplifts people that got postponed till this
Friday coming up. And then I was gonna go see
(10:46):
saw that I picked. Theater actually closed. They sent it
back way. They called and sent a message like we
are refunding your tickets because of the weather.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
I guess they had flooding down by the theater. So
that was a wash. But Saturday, first.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Of all, I went to go see Tony Tony Tony
and make sure y'all check out that Tony Tony Tony
interview up here. I thought about you, mano, because your
favorite part is Jess this show is my name.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Is Jermaine Wayne.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
So when he's saying that part, I thought about you.
But yes, I went to go see them and content amazing.
Speaker 6 (11:20):
You know.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I love me some Tony Tony Tony. It was a vibe. Guys.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
It made me feel like I need to go see
some more live music. Yeah, you know, but shout out
to Tony Tony Tony. It looked like it was a
sold out show at Radio City Music Hall. Then after that,
I went to Legos, which is a restaurant in Times Square.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Yes, what did you eat?
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Actually?
Speaker 3 (11:39):
I had some wings and then maybe a little bit
of fries, some salad.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
Remember we used to go there when it was Tonic.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Oh, yep, Tonic. It used to be a sports bar
right around the corner from Sirious. I used to work
as Serious and then it was on the same.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
Block, so it was Tonic before it was the food
good day.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Oh, it was open all the time. It was a sport.
But the great thing is they have TVs everywhere and
it was packed. Okay, so shout out to Prince will
always make sure I'm good.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
We got there.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
I went upstairs to the third floor to watch the fight. Nigel,
my guy Nigel was there. E Marie was there. They
were there watching the fight too. And let's recall on
Friday before the wash, before this wash MANA and I
had a conversation about the fight and here's what was said.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
The lies.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Another thing we'll be.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Watching is the fight this weekend fight fight, Right Canelo
versus Charlow You said you have I'm going with.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Off. You just want to bet again against you? Clear
listen footage, that's what we have.
Speaker 7 (12:48):
Right cut the audio. You cut the part that what
I said, I'm not betting you.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
A previous bet was Terence Crawford. If you recall that
back right now, you thought that.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
Did I did bet you. I did bet you on that.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Now, let me read you Terrence Crawfords tweet. Okay, y'all,
I'm over Charlo. He's no longer on my hit list.
He went out there and laid down and let Canelo
spink him like he was his daddy. But no type
of resistance. And it did go, and I will say
it did go the full twelve rounds.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
I thought Canelo Evers at one point was gonna knock
him out. He did knock him down in round seven,
and I was like, after that, it's over. So I
commend Charlo for actually making it through to the end.
He was really holding one, but from the first round
he was on the ropes. Now, man, at any point,
did you think maybe you would win this bet?
Speaker 5 (13:37):
What bet?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
When we just played?
Speaker 5 (13:39):
We never bet?
Speaker 10 (13:42):
What was the bell if you lost the bet?
Speaker 2 (13:49):
You see this outfit? Get used to it.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
Listen, not at all, not at all. I'm not only
going to have an outfit on right now?
Speaker 2 (13:57):
This is all right? Well, just to show where is
your name is Jeremay You.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Lost the bet, so cat that was about last night
and the moral of the story is a bet against Jermaine. Okay,
Now when we come back, we have tell us a secret.
That number is eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
And I don't want to hear a judgment from people
who do not honor their bets.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
And that's so cap We don't want that means, oh,
I didn't say no names.
Speaker 5 (14:26):
The lies that you're on the radio telling is crazy.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Eight hundred nine two fifty one fifty is a number.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
And remember today especially, it's no judgment if you call
up here to tell us a secret and Mano tries
to judge, then all you got to do is say
pay up. As a matter of fact, go in his
comments right now hashtag pay up.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Put a little money bag.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
You know what I'm saying, Jermaino, All right, eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty is a number. Definitely
no judgment today, tell us a secret, Joy.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
This is a judgment.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Freeze on, tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Yes, it's way up at Angela.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Ye, I'm in Angela Yee Jazzmine brand is here, Yes,
Mano is here and it's time for Mano's favorite segment.
We discussed having a pick aside today where people could
call in and decide if Mano made it better or
not on the fight over the weekend, Canelo Albarez versus
Jamel Charlow.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
But what happened?
Speaker 3 (15:18):
But Mano said, we are never bumping tell us a
secret for any reason.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
This is what he lives first.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Is the highlight of his day for sure.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
You know why because Mayo we having so many secrets
and he comes in here and when Mayno gets ready
to tell us something, he gets very dramatic changes, like
he turns.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
He turns his body completely towards eye contact.
Speaker 5 (15:42):
I told you a lot of stuff. I got a
lot of stuff on him.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
We have a lot of I could write a book
and he'd be like, no, I'm serious, I could write
it by unauthorized biography.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
He just told me.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
He's just like, no, Jazz needs to help me figure
this out.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Okay, So all that being said, he loves to hear
your secrets. Fifty call us up, tell us a secret, anonymous.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Caller, how are you?
Speaker 6 (16:05):
I'm fine, all right.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Well I'm here, Mano's here, Jasmine's here, Yes, and we
are ready to hear your secret.
Speaker 6 (16:11):
Well, I'm saying, two deacons at my church. But the
thing is I'm married to one of them.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Wow, okay, so you're seeing one, but you're married to
the other.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Really, yes, And.
Speaker 6 (16:24):
The one that I'm seeing, it's like I'm more into
him than I am to my husband.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
That's That's how it always is.
Speaker 6 (16:31):
And I don't know what to do.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
It's the thrill of the could we potentially get caught it?
And then it's a lack of responsibility, you know, because
a lot of times relationships can be tough things to
work on.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
It's like an escape.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
How long have you been cheating with a deacon? The
other deacon?
Speaker 6 (16:47):
About a year?
Speaker 5 (16:49):
You love a godly man? Don't you like a christ?
Fern man?
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Is the deacon that you're cheating with?
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Is he married to or he's single?
Speaker 6 (17:00):
Single?
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Okay? Does he?
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Does he ever have conversations where he feels bad about it?
Speaker 2 (17:05):
It is bad Jazz?
Speaker 4 (17:06):
I'm sorry, Yes, he actually says that.
Speaker 6 (17:10):
But he told me that God don't have to forgive
himcause keep falling in love.
Speaker 5 (17:16):
Right, But isn't this isn't this a sin? Though?
Speaker 12 (17:18):
Like?
Speaker 5 (17:19):
Isn't this like adults sin? Adult isn't a sin in church? Yes?
Speaker 2 (17:23):
It is?
Speaker 6 (17:24):
But what he makes me laugh?
Speaker 2 (17:27):
He makes put on a that's not covert? Thy neighbor's way?
Speaker 4 (17:34):
Wow, what are you gonna do?
Speaker 7 (17:36):
I know how long?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
How long you're you gonna keep going?
Speaker 6 (17:38):
No?
Speaker 2 (17:41):
You think you're gonna leave your husband?
Speaker 6 (17:43):
No?
Speaker 5 (17:44):
I think you need to pray on it. I think
you should pray on it.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
You think your husband's cheating on you too?
Speaker 6 (17:50):
No?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Wow, we're just listening. Well, thank you with.
Speaker 5 (17:59):

Speaker 5 (18:14):
In the building, Brooklyn.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Oh lord, all right, I already know this is going
to be bad. Let's hear your secret.
Speaker 8 (18:19):

Speaker 13 (18:20):
I'm asking you from queens.
Speaker 12 (18:22):

You know he is.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
You know, he's getting our notes together. He's like this
over the next set.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Of story is not getting together.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
All right, well, let's talk about this Kanye West leaked footage.
This is from twenty eighteen, and this is all from
a documentary that was being filmed that was unreleased and
so on. This footage that has recently been released, Kanye
is talking about Cardi B and calling her an industry plant.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Here's what he said.
Speaker 5 (20:49):
Carter B is a planted father from Anadi. She don't
write her wraps.
Speaker 13 (20:52):
She's just there like sound as ignorant as possible and
then make songs.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
Like get some Link.
Speaker 8 (20:58):
You know.
Speaker 7 (20:59):
She's literally replaced you know Nicki Minaj purposely that they
put her there.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
She has no idea what is going on.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
She thinks it's just a blessing from the universe.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
All right, Well, Cardi B responded by posting footage of
Kanye sitting down with Jason Lee and saying this, I.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
Was finishing that verse for your girl. You know what
I mean. I always believed in her since since she
was on the show. Period.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
That's him talking about Curdie b which you get to
me he changed his mind.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Yeah, and it happens. Yeah, you know people.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
And he said a lot of things about other people
as well, some hip hop legends.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Right.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
He talked about Nas. He was talking about yeah, pushing Tea,
Tianna Taylor.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Here's what he said.
Speaker 14 (21:40):
I need to get rid of good music because I'm great.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
And guess what good is the enemy of great.
Speaker 7 (21:44):
The I'm doing given want to love you to Tiana,
but I'm doing given that Daytona album to push it.
Speaker 14 (21:51):
That was three dark fantasies that I gave away.
Speaker 9 (21:55):
Cop shot the kid Nas wrapping all goddamn off beat
on it.
Speaker 8 (21:58):
Don't even to shoot the video the video.
Speaker 5 (22:00):
Don't even tell me.
Speaker 9 (22:01):
These boss don't appreciate me, all these mothers trying to
use me.
Speaker 7 (22:05):
I'm the greatest month artist lipping and I could do everything.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
On Brandy this trap brand. Not not wrapping off beat.
I know now, It's just like I was not the
song song again, wrap off beat.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
I don't wraps off beat, and in Detroit it is
known for that.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
But I like it.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
I cannot say that's not I'm not a fan, all.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Right, it's sometimes I do like it. It could sound
cool if you do it right.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
I don't like it neither.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
No, thank you, all right.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
In addition to that, you know, he had things to
say about Jack Harlow.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
Right, No, okay, I know. Story. We just have another story. Okay.
So this is Jack Harlow.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Now, this is an unreleased version of Louis Bags, and
this part we didn't hear. I thought this was funny,
all right, some people, I don't know why. People will
be mad about it, but it's hilarious. Here's what Jack
Harlow had to say on this unreleased version of Kanye's
Louis Bags.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
The World's ghost writer dow don't want me getting credit.
Don't let y'all girls meet me because they want me.
If I met him, I bet little X we help
for me if I let him. That's funny.
Speaker 7 (23:16):
That's that's a bit, ay, but that's amazing funny.
Speaker 5 (23:23):
Took. Yeah, somebody said, no, we ain't putting.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
His own and maybe it's also like little Naz X
doesn't like you like that? Yeah, you know, because sometimes
I think people assume if you're gay, you like everybody.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Yeah, and that's not true.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Why not even a tight.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Yeah, not as tight all right?
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Now, Tyree his production company Vultron Films, they're suing Joan Pendergrass,
that is the widow of Teddy Pendergrass over the rise
of this biopic of Teddy Panograss, which, by the way,
I cannot wait to watch.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Happened, I don't know, but I watched that documentary.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
Very documentary that was amazing, very good.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Now, Tyree posted Capricorn stand within tegrity. I happened to
be a Capricorn. Sadly things had to come to this.
Another Philadelphia legend, Lee Daniels, is attached to direct me
as Teddy.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
This has been thirteen years in the making.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
This man embraced me when he was on this earth
and shared to me, no one can play me in
my biopic, but you, Tyres, I'm sure of it.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
And then he put Teddy Pendergrass.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Hearing those words coming from him, as one could imagine,
put me under an a bearable amount of pressure. But
I knew that I was born to play Teddy Pendergrass.
The first person I called was my mother, rip and
share the news. She screamed, My mother was the biggest
Teddy pendagrass fan on earth.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
She couldn't believe it.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
There is nothing more uncomfortable than trying to create magic
with inexperienced creatives.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
And so his main thing is.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
That she is not giving him the rights to be
able to film it. She's I guess he's filed a lawsuit.
She has not filed an anti tooist suit, and she
has no other comment as a press time, But he
wants some one million dollars in damages. He says that
Teddy pendegrass Is would have refuse to extend the option
on the rights to Teddy's Story back in twenty twenty two,
and that he invested four hundred and fifty thousand dollars
(25:02):
into the production since he first obtained the rights of
the film back in twenty eleven, and the failure to
extend the option resulted in financial damages to Vulture On Films.
But I will say, I guess she's not obligated. You
don't have to extend the option. He just wants her to.
Speaker 10 (25:16):
Here's the thing we have been talking about this for years,
trying to play this. This seem like is never happening.
I hope one.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Day it does.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Yeah, I mean that documentary.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
By the way, Pedagrash was the man, but there were
so many things I didn't about history. I actually went
to go see him perform when he was in a wheelchair.
How was that in Atlantic City? I happened to be
in Atlantic City and he was performing there in a wheelchair.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
How was it?
Speaker 3 (25:39):
It was good his daughter was doing ballet and women
were definitely throwing panties up there. Really, but I just
wanted to go see a legend like Teddy Pendergrass no
matter what. All right, well that is your utm when
we come back, we have under the radar. These are
the stories that are not necessarily headline news. They are
flying under the radar. It's way up with Angela yee.
That's the news.
Speaker 9 (26:00):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
All right, it's way up with Angela ye, Angela yee.
Jasmine brand is here.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
It's not just any brand. I'm my own brand.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Mana is here. No man telling secrets. All right.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Now, let's get into some under the radar stories. You know,
Donald Trump is in New York right now, and I'm
watching this in real time. He's in court and he
didn't actually have to be there for this, but he
felt like it was important. It's a two hundred and
fifty million dollar fraud trial, and according to reports right now,
the prosecutor is saying that no one is above the
law as this civil fraud trial is starting. He arrived
(26:39):
in Manhattan Supreme Court this morning to attend the trial,
and he's being accused of basically financial fraud. Right They're
saying that he misstated the values of real estate properties
by billions of dollars in business records to obtain better
loan and insurance terms and tax benefits. Right So now,
(27:00):
of course Donald Trump is saying this whole thing is
a witch hunt and if he loses this, then he
won't be able to do business in this state anymore.
And then that would mean that there's a lot of
things that he won't be able to have, like his
Trump Towers and everything that's here.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
So that would be a big deal, yes, or he's.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Gonna have and he's gonna have to pay two hundred
and fifty million dollars in fines too. By the way,
it's a lot of money not for him, right, he's
got it, and I'm kidding, I don't know if he
has that. All right, Now, let's talk about this lawsuit
that is happening in Florida. According to this lawsuit, employees
were repeatedly called the N word and boy by other
employees and management. They were also subjected to demeaning working conditions,
(27:40):
like being forced to work in heavy rain while white
employees watched. Black employees were also forced to relieve themselves
outside while white employees were allowed to use the bathroom indoors.
So the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a
lawsuit against Asphalt Paving Systems. They filed this lawsuit last
week saying that the company created a hostile environment for
(28:01):
black employees, and not only that, they refer to some
of the employees, the black employees as monkeys, and they
would say all kinds of things, and they would say
things like black is beautiful, tan is grand, but white
is the color of the big boss man.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
All they're saying is to somebody's face.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
They were saying this, Yeah, this is in Florida. This
is in Florida. The supervisor, Dennis Williams, is also overheard
saying that the black paving crew were looking like a
bunch of monkeys and called one of them a monkey
directly to his face.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
On a frequent basis.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
Oh my gosh, that's awful.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Can you imagine these types of working conditions.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
It's awful allowing that though this is even more wild.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Don't think you know what though, that's why they're suing
right now.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
And I think part of it is that people really
do have like families and things to take care of,
and in the moment of something like that happening, it's
also shocking, like I can't believe that this is, you know,
happening to me. And then if you feel like what
am I going to do? Lose my job and then
there's no repercussions. I think the best thing to do
is is to gather up everybody and do a lawsuit
and make sure the world knows about this, yep, instead
(29:05):
of just trying to think in the you know, be
rash in the moment.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
Ala something like that.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
I know it's hard not to.
Speaker 10 (29:11):
Well, some people don't have a choice. They got to
support their family, all right.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Now.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
A New York student has been detained in Dubai for months,
and that is for touching an airport security guard during
a ten hour layover. She's only twenty one years old
and she's been there for months, and she's been accused
of assaulting and insulting airport staffers in Dubai. There was
a ten oh hour layover that she had with one
of her friends. She was traveling from Istanbul and according
(29:37):
to a press release, you know, she had on like
one of those waist trainer things for whatever medical reason
that she had to and so they made her take
it off and then she needed help putting it back on.
You know, they refused to help her with that. She
was ushered into a booth with female security officers. They
were rough as they removed the compressor. According to the
press release, she said she felt violated. She tried to
(29:58):
put the training back on herself. It's really a process
that takes two people. They wouldn't help her, and so
she tried to, like, you know, nudge one of them
to be like, can my friend who's with me coming
and help, and that's when they said that she attacked them.
And she's been detained for months right now, right there
and she has to pay, you know, for her own
detainment during that time, and even if she wins her case,
(30:19):
six months of more, being forced to stay in the
country at her own cost while under the very real
threat of imprisonment is an unacceptable consequence. It's crazy, all right. Well,
you guys, that is you're under the radar. We do
have the Way Up mix at the top of the
hour on a Monday, So party with us. And when
we come back, we want to talk to our very
own Dan, our producer about his weekend because he did
(30:40):
get engaged and we cannot wait to hear this story.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
We saw the video.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Yes, I'm going to share some details with you guys.
It's way up with Angela Yee. She's like to talk
like they Angela Jean, like they Angela jee Man.
Speaker 9 (30:51):
She's spilling it all.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
This is yet way up.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yes, it's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Been brand is here, I'm my old brand. Mano is here,
Manas And let's get into some yet get ready for
that Beyonce Renaissance World Tour concert film. Yes, Beyonce is
in final talks right and that is going to be
done with AMC theaters. You know, they did the deal
with Taylor Swift as well, and so now Beyonce, get
(31:23):
ready for that to come. According to Variety, they're the
first ones that had the exclusive about it. And here
is the trailer for the movie of Renaissance, a film
by Beyonce that will hit theaters on December first.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
When I am performing, I am nothing but free.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
The goal for this tour was to create a place
where everyone is free and no.
Speaker 9 (31:48):
One is judged it.
Speaker 7 (31:50):
Start over and start fresh, create the new.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
That's what the Renaissance is about.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Now, all right, you saw the video of Blue Ivy
the last.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
Show getting emotional.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
She's beautiful.
Speaker 5 (32:02):
No judgment zone? What what the shows? No judgment zone?
Speaker 4 (32:07):
Okay, oh judgment for you? Okay, gotcha. I'm a little confused.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
It's already on sale, right, are they Averredy on show? Yeah?
Speaker 10 (32:15):
I feel byan are available to purchase now, Okay, I'm
tickets for Renaissance.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
Well, the last tour was in Kansas City, Missouri, on
Sunday night. Cardi B was there, yes, doing the mute challenge. Yeah,
that mute challenge. I don't know, so serious from the
mute challenge, Okay, on radio.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Yeah it doesn't work. All right. Now, let's talk about
Mona Scott Young.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Of course, she was up here on way up at
Angela Yee and full disclosure, we were told not to
ask her anything about love and hip hop and her thoughts.
It said it all big on the prep that we got.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
It was red.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
She said it to me, and I was like, Mona,
there's no way we cannot bring it. I mean, come on,
you have a movie coming out with digs and that's
great and we are definitely gonna talk about that. But
we got to talk about this too. And here's what
she had to say. I see the show on the
same basis that they see the show. Okay, you know,
I'm not involved with the cuts anymore. I'm not in
the field. The castle will tell you this. There's a
group of black women on the ground making this show.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Right, So it's it's hard for me to say, well,
I wasn't there, and so I let it ride and
I hope it rides out and it corrects itself. But yeah,
I'm not day to day on the franchise anymore. I'm
making movies now, love and Murder, right all right?
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Well, of course, Rikamna responded, She says, so Mona's got young.
You're saying that fake Olivia Pope post. Wasn't you handling anything?
Just you're desperately trying to say face, just like the
network is got it? And then she had done a
post about wanting to be as dark as Bernice read
Eric and then she doesn't want to Haven's beautiful color,
(33:54):
especially on vacation. The fact that I actually do get
color naturally in the sun all my life and it's
now being considered me black facing is pathetic. This is
insane how press people are about someone they claim is canceled.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
Does have a beautiful color.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
She knows right, poor timing.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Yeah, But the other the other thing is sometimes the
whole point of this is that you said something that
a lot of people were offended by, and you said
something that is calling black people monkeys. Is not ever
anything that is okay that can be excused, And instead
of just taking accountability for that and leaving alone, it's
like attacking everyone else, Just say and mean that I
(34:34):
was wrong. Sometimes you have to be do the mute challenge.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Jasmine Lost yelling at me, I'm hollering that challenge.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Start now, all right, Fans, are split over data, pickets,
miss tribute to Tupac. Why can't you pay tribute to
She's that is her friend, you know, Keithy D and
man No, you and I discuss this. This news broke
on Friday, so we were able to discuss this during
the show.
Speaker 5 (35:03):
Her into a jail cell.
Speaker 6 (35:05):
I know.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
People were wondering why did it take so long, and
so I was reading reports about that, and they were
saying that they were just gathering everything.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
So it was an air tight case, you know.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
And Tupac's siblings have also responded to kify D being
charged with Tupac's murder, and you know, his sister said,
there is no this is no doubt a pivotal moment.
The silence of the past twenty seven years surrounding this
case has spoken loudly in our community. It's important to
me that the world, the country, the justice system, and
our people acknowledged the gravity of the passing of this man,
(35:40):
my brother, my mother's son, my father's son. His life
and death matters and should not go unsolved or unrecognized. So, yes,
today is a victory, but I will reserve judgment until
all the facts and legal proceedings are.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
Complete twenty seven years later.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
But you know what, Sometimes justice is slow, but it's
always time when it can happen.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
All right, and I'm sure.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
There's gonna be other people held accountable as well. All right,
Well that is your yet and when we come back.
Our producer Dan got got engaged.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
Over the weekend.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
He proposed he a whole wife now, and we want
to talk about it, and he's gonna let us know
the details.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
All right. It's way up at Angela. Yee. You ride
a way up with Angela. I'm so nervous. It's way
up at Angela.
Speaker 6 (36:27):
Yee.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
I'm Angela yee. Jackue Brand is here, Mayo's here, No
Man Radio, and that producer Dan is here. Dan, you're spilling,
what's what's up? All right?
Speaker 3 (36:47):
So over the weekend, our producer Dan proposed to his
now fiance maybe at.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
The altar your white dress. I feel like y'all might
not like this. I feel like every man should think
the woman there with is too good for them, Like,
why is she with me?
Speaker 5 (37:04):
She is way better than me? Really?
Speaker 4 (37:06):
Like, I really do that?
Speaker 5 (37:12):
Did you plan this full? Long time?
Speaker 8 (37:13):
I did?
Speaker 15 (37:14):
This has been on the work since May Wow.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
Yeah, that's about all the delays because you wanted the
perfect time to prepare.
Speaker 15 (37:19):
Yeah, I had two other plans that I had to cancel.
The first one, I wanted to make a magician make
me appear on a knee. I thought that would have
been cool because we have like a history with you know,
going to magic shows and enjoying magic all that stuff.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Okay, logistical nightmare.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
But what if? Yeah, what if you would have disappeared
and never came back? Or what if she and another Yeah, once.
Speaker 15 (37:40):
I started ironing that out, I realized that was like
not gonna happen that way. Also was super super expensive.
Plan B was actually to rent your upstate house.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Well, I was gonna give gift you.
Speaker 15 (37:51):
Yes, you were going to give me the house for
the weekend arget. That would have been incredible, such a
beautiful spot. But unfortunately the date that would have worked
for your house as well as for me, did not
work for her. She had other things going on that
I did not know about.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Apparently.
Speaker 15 (38:07):
Yeah, you know, I can't be too obvious about like
you got to reschedule, you know what I mean, right,
because then I'll blow cover? Okay, So I you know
something that like we always do is we really like
to enjoy food with foodies. We got really nice restaurants.
We really don't like, don't go clubbing, We don't spend
our money that much. We really just like go to
really nice restaurants.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
Right, and you cook at home and we cook at home. Yes.
Speaker 15 (38:27):
So what I did was there's this two star Michelin
restaurant called Saga, which is like around the corner from
where we live in downtown Manhattan, and they have this
beautiful terrace on the sixty sixth floor that overlooks the
entire city, all of Brooklyn.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
Thank this was Friday, Saturday, this was Sunday.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
This was yesterday, that beautiful day yesterday.
Speaker 5 (38:52):
Because I was outside.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
Dan, isn't it hard to get a reservation at this
at this restaurant?
Speaker 15 (38:58):
Yes, I've been planning ahead. And I also when I
went to book the reservation, I reached out saying like
this is what I want to do. And you know,
they have pictures. They have this gorgeous private terrorist on
the sixty sixth floor over the entire city, gorgeous, And
as soon as I saw.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
It, I was like, this is the spot. That's perfect because.
Speaker 15 (39:16):
Also like there wasn't like so much planning that had
to go into it. It wasn't like getting a house
and all this stuff. It was just like show up.
At this time, I hired a photographer. Shout out to
Liam the man. Liam, Yeah he's a photographer.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
Became in a suit and everything was so serious.
Speaker 15 (39:31):
And she had no idea, She had no you know,
want to know what kind of gave up her intuition
that I got a haircut? She always has to tell
me to get a haircut?
Speaker 5 (39:40):
Who is the past? That's funny relationship.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
We like rita.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
Yeah she runs.
Speaker 15 (39:47):
We in each other's lives.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
I don't know about that. Okay. Anyway, look like cooking
and all right, I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
So we saw and then you had to have security
footage that you showed us.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
How did that footage?
Speaker 15 (40:01):
So that was actually Liam had this like three sixty
camera set up on like this like sixteen foot tripod
that was able to get like an overhead shot and yeah,
everything really works.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
It was perfect. Did you cry?
Speaker 5 (40:13):
She did?
Speaker 15 (40:14):
I actually cried. I cried more before so like when
I brought the ring home. That was really emotional for me. Honestly,
I've been crying a lot this morning.
Speaker 10 (40:21):
Really, Yeah, I remember you, I'm saying that you had
put the ring away and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 4 (40:26):
Did you guys eat before or after after? Okay?
Speaker 15 (40:29):
Yeah, So when we got up, the hostess brought us
to the bar, had us get like a fake celebratory
like a They basically said it was like protocol to
get a drink. So they brought us to the bar,
we got a drink, and then she brought us outside.
And what was really nice was that this restaurant was
able to give me this terrace privately. Whereas normally the
entire restaurant gets to use the terrace, they shut it
(40:49):
down for me for the first hour of the restaurant
being opened.
Speaker 5 (40:51):
So that was awesome.
Speaker 4 (40:52):
Yeah, who does she tell first? I mean everyone already
knew that first.
Speaker 15 (40:56):
We first we facetimed her family, then permission from her fami.
Speaker 5 (41:00):
Yes, I did. I did that first.
Speaker 15 (41:01):
I did that a couple of months.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
And it doesn't any of this right, I'm getting lesson.
Speaker 7 (41:06):
Right now.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
I want to do you can be like you can
laying on the roof. Wow, I believe in you can
be now.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
So you guys facetimed her family parents.
Speaker 15 (41:18):
Yeah, closest friends, and then kind of like group chats.
We just like dropped a picture of her wearing the ring.
Speaker 5 (41:24):
Did your mom know ahead of time?
Speaker 15 (41:26):
Yes, so all parents, both sides knew that it was
going to be ten one one one.
Speaker 5 (41:34):
You should get that tattoo on one gettoo, And.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
And for everybody listening in case there's been some mess
ups on the show today.
Speaker 15 (41:44):
That first one was on me, and my head was
they don't know that though, you know, I'm still kicking
myself over that.
Speaker 5 (41:51):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
He's a little he's a little flesh. We love Rita though.
It's so exciting. Congratulates.
Speaker 5 (42:01):
Don't do this now mat Now she works.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
I know she's a program director over at S.
Speaker 7 (42:08):
And I walked in and she says, Hey, I'm Dan's girlfriend.
I said what, Dan, you didn't because I couldn't believe it.
I said, what, Then you're talking about you talking my
way up gang, I'm you're talking about my criming like
he's talking about my dog.
Speaker 5 (42:21):
What you're talking about?
Speaker 15 (42:24):
Cute about it?
Speaker 16 (42:26):
You know?
Speaker 15 (42:26):
Yeah, we want to hear your story.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
We want to hear your proposal stories.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
We just heard dance. It was very uh sweet, very
sweet too. Him quite some time from May until October
first for this to finally happen. But we want to
hear yours eight hundred and two, nine fifty one fifty.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
Love is in the air.
Speaker 5 (42:40):
He yad, she's back at it, bring it.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Bringing the way up with Angela.
Speaker 5 (42:48):
Yee is on.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Jasmine brand is here, Yes, Mano is here. No maya
right and Dan our producer was in here earlier talking
about his age. Man He got engaged yesterday. He proposed
to read a congratulations reader. This is something he's been
planning for a while.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (43:07):
So he details everything about how it happens and he
has inspired Mano.
Speaker 5 (43:11):
Yeah, I'm gonna plan my uh engagement, but you have.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
To want to get married.
Speaker 5 (43:17):
I got to find the person.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
No, wait a minute. You proposed to me twice today.
I did, but it wasn't really planned out. There was
no ring.
Speaker 5 (43:23):
Yes, no, yeah, I got I gotta plan it.
Speaker 7 (43:26):
So is it you?
Speaker 5 (43:28):
I'm up?
Speaker 4 (43:28):
Yes, it's me, it's me.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
I think Mano just wants to propose to somebody because
he's you want to. Mano's very complicated to be in love.
He wants to find the one but he wants to
still be outside.
Speaker 4 (43:41):
Yeah, he wants to.
Speaker 5 (43:41):
Be to be outside, and we got to go to
seven eleven.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
You you can go outside, but be outside and go
outside is two different things.
Speaker 5 (43:49):
I'm gonna be outside.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
You want to be outside. You don't want to just
go outside. You want to be there. He wants to
be there and be dogged, jogged through, ran through, jogged
job like jobs.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
But yeah, so we want to hear your engagement stories
and how you propose and listen, and I will say this.
You know, women are free to call to but I
feel like it's mostly men who are doing the proposing.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
It is and nothing wrong if it's the other way around.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
But I see a lot of men are calling the
lines to talk about their engagements.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
They're planning to propose things.
Speaker 3 (44:23):
Because let me tell you something, that has to be
a really nerve racking experience to know that you have
this ring, to know that you're planning to do something
to get everything right. Sometimes the weather is a factor,
too many variables. You want to make sure her nails
are done or his depending you know, yeah you don't know,
but all of those things matter, all right, So let's
hear your proposal stories when we come back. Eight hundred
(44:45):
two nine two fifty one fifty is a number. That's
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
Will y'all marry me? It's way up you rib A,
way up with Angela.
Speaker 15 (44:54):
Yee.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
Yes, it is way up with Angela.
Speaker 14 (44:57):
Yee.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
I'm Angela yee.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Jasmine Brand is here, Mano is here, yes, yes, And
it is a Monday, and it's time for some Monday manovation, mannovation.
Speaker 5 (45:10):
No hesitation in any situation.
Speaker 3 (45:12):
Oh no, but that's coming up next, so we want
to make sure we get that ready. But in the meantime,
right now, we are talking about your proposals.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Right.
Speaker 3 (45:20):
This is also very manovating because Mana wants to propose
at some point.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
He does soon to someone.
Speaker 5 (45:25):
I'll proposed to you twice today.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
Me, Jeff, Yes, you did propose with no ring and yeah.
And also it's never having dated.
Speaker 4 (45:33):
Also, no relationship.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
It's not going to arrange marriage in a way. But
we want to hear about your proposals. Our producer Dan
proposed yesterday. Fortunately she said yes, because I don't know
what today would have been like everybody.
Speaker 5 (45:47):
Proposed to somebody that said no. I would like to
hear those stories.
Speaker 2 (45:52):
I had a situation, Wow, you said no?
Speaker 5 (45:55):
Or did God said no? That you proposed to propose
to somebody?
Speaker 2 (46:00):
No, I had said no, I had said that. They
caught me off guard.
Speaker 5 (46:03):
I was like, what had he been down on? Did
he get down on? Ben?
Speaker 2 (46:06):
Didn't you know? The ring was inside of a dessert cake?
And I was like, we're ringing here?
Speaker 12 (46:11):
You ate?
Speaker 2 (46:12):
I was surprised. I just we never met each other's families.
It wasn't even yeah, she put.
Speaker 5 (46:18):
The ring in there, and what did you say?
Speaker 3 (46:20):
He was like, I should have never listened to my friend.
I guess they like him to propose something. But we
want to hear you're a good stories that right, Josh?
Speaker 5 (46:27):
What's good?
Speaker 2 (46:29):
What we want to hear about your proposal?
Speaker 8 (46:33):
Okay, it's been ten years so it was a while ago.
But I proposed to my my wife, my girlfriend then
at a movie theater. We went on our first date on.
Speaker 2 (46:44):
Oh that's yeah. They went to their first day in
this movie theater.
Speaker 5 (46:49):
Oh oh that's sentimental. I like that.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
Okay, how long did it take you to plane?
Speaker 8 (46:54):
It took a minute because I had to get it
clear with the movie theater. One of my buddies make
a video montage of like our whole relationship, and I
had him play it at the end of the credit.
Speaker 3 (47:07):
After that, So you had to sit through the whole
movie knowing that you was gonna propose at the end.
Speaker 8 (47:12):
Yes, and the ring was burning a hole in my
pocket the whole movie.
Speaker 2 (47:16):
What movie were you guys watching? That you that you
had played before the okay, uh.
Speaker 8 (47:20):
See that's the that's the funny part. It was for
the Batman movie. And I can't even remember which one
it was.
Speaker 5 (47:27):
When Knight continued, yeah, the one with yeah the dark
Knight rises.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
What she would have to go to the bathroom, and
the credits came on to the bathroom. Definitely let me
run out before everybody gets up, right.
Speaker 8 (47:41):
But but the awkward thing was the movie is and
she gets up to leave and I'm like, no, I
think there's an after credit things and she's like, no,
that's Marvel, that's not DC. And I had and I
had our whole family out in the lobby waiting on us.
Speaker 3 (47:59):
Afterward, I'm not gonna lie. Dan was like, this guy out,
did you know that movie?
Speaker 5 (48:05):
Like three hours too?
Speaker 12 (48:06):
Right, y'all?
Speaker 2 (48:06):
Do know that.
Speaker 8 (48:09):
I had to tell her to shut up and just
sit down.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
Who shut up?
Speaker 5 (48:17):
Right, we're walking.
Speaker 8 (48:19):
She's like, what are you talking about? Everybody's walking down
in the theater. They're about to start cleaning. And then
the scene finally started playing, so it worked out.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
All right, LL play it already, right? All right? Well,
thank you so much for calling. That's really sweet.
Speaker 4 (48:32):
That is sweet. Congratulations.
Speaker 5 (48:33):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 8 (48:34):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
Hey, big what's up?
Speaker 12 (48:36):
Hey, what's going on? How you guys doing?
Speaker 2 (48:38):
We're good?
Speaker 1 (48:38):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (48:39):
You ready to share your engagement story with us?
Speaker 12 (48:42):
Okay, so my girls pregnant. We recently found out she
was pregnant right after my grandma passed. It was good news,
bad times. She was going to see her grandma the
twenty fifth anniversary out of San Diego. I've been waiting
to find some time away from her because she's always
trying to figure out what I'm doing, and she's been
asking for a long time. So I went and got
a ring, took the day off. She came home. Fast forward,
(49:03):
she gets back. I was gonna do it at the airport,
but I had to kind of go off top with
the new plan. So her parents just told me they'd
watch the kids. And she was stretched from the trail,
flying with two toddlers and pregnant. So I take out
to Benn at sushi and I was thinking about doing
it then, and you know, it's just a really good setting,
good night. I decided not to. Seemed a little played out,
(49:23):
so I said, hey, I want to take some pictures,
you know, maybe do a little birthday montage. I was like,
let's go down and let's go walk by the riverfront.
Savannah walk down there and I'm looking for her spot
and yeah, and she was, you know, and she was gLing.
She looked great. She love this. She loves going out
and walking. So she's been asking for multiple years. And
then she goes She's like, let's check out this check
(49:44):
out that. I was like, let's just keep going for
a second, and like she had no idea. So I
see this spot where there's like little water fountains coming
up and the boat's passing through, and I'm trying to
get it while the boats passing. I'm like, hey, let's
take a little picture. I set my phone up and
she's waving and I told her I'll it was cold,
so I was wearing a sweater, so I like sneak
off my sweater and sneak it behind my behind my pocket,
(50:05):
in my back pocket, and she uh, she turns and
thinks for taking a photo and the waterfoutain they're coming up,
and she goes, I'm like, baby, I always wanted to
be a husband and a father. I was like, you
already made me a father, so will you be my
you know, will you be my wife? And yeah, she
was like, what do you do stuff? She like turned
and she was so happy and she's been watching a
video non stop, sharing it.
Speaker 2 (50:25):
With her friends, and you know, that's so sweet.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
All right, well, thank you so much for sharing that.
That is beautiful and congratulations. I know this was recent, right, yeah, this.
Speaker 12 (50:34):
Was on my thirtieth birthday on the twenty seventh, a.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
Few days ago. I actually congratulations to both of you guys.
Speaker 12 (50:41):
Thank you so much. That's niaur Chada Banalas. I love
your baby. If you're listening either way, thank you, guys.
I appreciate you. Hey, y'all have a blessed day. I
appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (50:51):
Well, guys, thank you for sharing your cute proposal stories.
I love love and you can always leave a message.
Eight hundred two nine fifty fifty in case you couldn't
get through, we would love to hear your stories. And
when we come back into Monday, so you know what
that means. Men, it's time for our Monday men of
it shine. Put my very own mano. It's way up
at Angela Yee, Monday, Renovation. Next, pay your debt. It's
(51:20):
way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela yee. Jasmine brand
is here, Yes, I'm here, and you know what it is.
It's a Monday Monday new Man.
Speaker 7 (51:29):
No, Yeah, it was a little slow on there, but yes, menovation,
And I will say this, people are gonna show you
exactly who.
Speaker 5 (51:41):
They are facts and you have to allow that time
to let that happen.
Speaker 7 (51:46):
We can no longer put ourselves in situations where we
just believe everything something that somebody's telling us, that we're
just taking things on face value. We got allowed that
people will show us who we are and when we
and when they do show us who they are, we
have to believe them.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
I hear you, Deacon Mayno, because let me tell you something.
Speaker 5 (52:05):
We had to stop it.
Speaker 2 (52:08):
You showed me who you are.
Speaker 3 (52:10):
Believe them, Oh my goodness, showed me who he is?
How did how time we got to hear this.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
Listen to this.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
Another thing we'll be watching is to fight this weekend
fight fight Canelo versus Charlo. You said you have I'm going, but.
Speaker 5 (52:29):
You said before off ed you just want to bet
against against you.
Speaker 10 (52:35):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (52:35):
Okay that.
Speaker 7 (52:38):
When people show you who exactly are, you gotta believe them.
That don't count because y'all doctored up the footage. That
audio is not complete.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Now, mana, who are you that we that you've showed
us who you are that we believe because if I
google you.
Speaker 5 (52:52):
I'm trustworthy? Okay, I'm responsible.
Speaker 3 (52:55):
Now Trustworthy is relative, right because I might be like
man no, is trustworthy as a friend?
Speaker 13 (52:59):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (53:00):
Now exactly?
Speaker 5 (53:03):
Okay, you can't you can't count that, can you say?
I'm the.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Segment and you're literally eating.
Speaker 5 (53:11):
You got all? Why y'all let everybody know that stuff.
Speaker 7 (53:19):
You're edge looked up and She's like, listen, this is
so much captain trust who people are, believe in them.
But you got a lot of time to do that
because a lot of times we jump into situations where
we believe everything we get.
Speaker 5 (53:35):
We get.
Speaker 7 (53:36):
We fall in love with the idea of somebody, we
fall in love with the idea of people we want
to be loved, whatever it is. And I'm not just
talking about the relationship between man and woman or marriage.
I'm talking about any kind of relationships of friendship, business,
especially in business, because people get lied to all the time,
all the time because you.
Speaker 5 (53:53):
Just believe what was told to you.
Speaker 3 (53:55):
You got to do your own research and don't feel
bad to be like, this isn't adding up to me.
You know, it's your own self that you have to protect,
and part of that is making sure you do your
your research right.
Speaker 5 (54:06):
Because sometimes people can have disorders.
Speaker 2 (54:09):
Yeah, pathological fry eaters or liars, that's a fact.
Speaker 10 (54:14):
Why do you look at excuse me, ma, know why
do you look at me and not your head when
you said liars?
Speaker 3 (54:18):
And the tooth is even even when it comes to relationships,
sometimes people can show you and tell you I don't
want to do this. I don't want to be I'm
fine with dealing with you, but I don't want to
be in a committed relationship. You got to believe he
change his mind. One day, she'll come around. But you
gotta believe what's there. What is this person showing me
with their actions, not.
Speaker 5 (54:37):
What they're saying what they're saying.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
All right, well, thank you for that Monday menovation, menovation.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
You can get back to your fries.
Speaker 5 (54:45):
Come on, why are you letting everybody know what we're
doing there? We don't want to hear what you.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
Both have fries be Jason's already had a bagel, cream cheese,
and now she's.
Speaker 5 (54:57):
She's an eater.
Speaker 4 (54:58):
I am eater, but I will say that I like
to eat. I enjoyed, like to enjoy my food.
Speaker 10 (55:05):
I do feel a way because earlier Angela got herself
a salad and did not offer her friend.
Speaker 5 (55:12):
You didn't want no salad anyway, you.
Speaker 4 (55:13):
May know this is not about you. This is about Angela.
Speaker 5 (55:16):
Yeah, but you didn't want no salad.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Well, to be clat, I announced to her, Hey, I'm
going to get a salad. Now to me if you
want one, you would be like, oh, I want to
get one.
Speaker 10 (55:25):
To let me tell you what Angela usually does. She
gets whatever she's gonna get this. She politely hands me
her phone and I order whatever I like to order,
and that's how that's how this relationship works.
Speaker 3 (55:33):
But I feel like this number one Jasmine had a
bagel already, so I was like she just ate. She's
probably not hungry, but I did say I'm getting a
salad so she could jump in and be like I
want one to Secondly, she did get fries in that
wee for me at all, But that's neither here nor there.
You guys, when we come back, we already for some
ask ye now if you have a question, if you
need some advice now.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
Jasmine also failed to mention we're going to Detroit today.
Speaker 4 (55:57):
We are going to Detroit to I always in Detroit,
were gonna eat good and.
Speaker 2 (56:01):
We're flying first class.
Speaker 4 (56:01):
Tell them how Angela upgraded us on her miles.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
Okay, now, how about being grateful for that instead of
being concerned about a salad?
Speaker 2 (56:10):
Is Angela's type of friend that she has to turn
it around and throw in your face? And what she
did for you salad? Are you serious, Angela?
Speaker 4 (56:17):
What have I never not been?
Speaker 13 (56:18):
Who?
Speaker 5 (56:19):
People are? Okay?
Speaker 2 (56:20):
This all right? All right? I do too.
Speaker 3 (56:22):
We'll ask ye eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty
in number, call us up and let us know.
Speaker 2 (56:27):
What advice you need. We are here to help some
of us are It's well.
Speaker 9 (56:32):
Since whether it's relationship or career advice, Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 2 (56:35):
Should you should know?
Speaker 3 (56:37):
This is ask ye what's happens? Way up with Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee and the award winning advice giver Mana
was here with me. I am, and we're here to
answer any questions that you might have. Eight hundred two
ninety fifty one fifty and this person wants to remain anonymous.
Speaker 2 (56:51):
Hi, how are you?
Speaker 14 (56:52):
Hey? I'm feeling great, couper great.
Speaker 2 (56:55):
All right, now, what is your question today?
Speaker 16 (56:57):
All right?
Speaker 14 (56:58):
My honest question is how do you forgive your mother
after she chose her partner over you and your siblings?
But like she's no longer with the partner, but things
have transpired and it's just hard to overcome.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
So what happened?
Speaker 14 (57:11):
I mean, like it was a situation with my brother
where it was almost got physical with the partner and
my mom basically put my brother out for it. But
you know now, my brothers I don't keep doing good.
But it's just hard to forgive, even though it was
like three years ago.
Speaker 2 (57:25):
Has your brother forgiven her?
Speaker 12 (57:27):
No?
Speaker 5 (57:27):
But the thing is, I'm sorry, and you're gonna have
to forgive your mother.
Speaker 7 (57:32):
You only get one mother and a lifetime brother and
and I know it's probably hard because you felt like,
you know, she chose her lover, But you gotta keep
it real.
Speaker 5 (57:40):
Like mother's a human. They even gettized every now and then.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
But I thought she tells it.
Speaker 7 (57:45):
But at this big old age, brother's a human brother,
you know, like a cycle.
Speaker 14 (57:50):
May I know it's okay.
Speaker 12 (57:53):
I agree with you.
Speaker 8 (57:53):
You right, you.
Speaker 5 (57:54):
Are humans, so they susceptible, she put.
Speaker 3 (58:00):
Ye, ye, yeah, chose whose side the lover her look and.
Speaker 14 (58:05):
Only the lover was texting my brother off of fake
number bro all kind of crazy stuff. But then like
my sister found out because my sister might hack through
the phone. That's how we found out. I mean, we
had proof, so you know, we just let going like
God didn't with it.
Speaker 2 (58:18):
So you said it was a pattern, Like what other
things would you say made it a pattern?
Speaker 14 (58:21):
Or like at eight a m my mom go to work.
She would get up and I mean like open cabinets,
COVID loud and.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
It would be terribly You got to get past that though, Yeah,
I mean, has she ever taken accountability and said that
she was wrong?
Speaker 12 (58:37):
Ye?
Speaker 3 (58:37):
Because that's part of it too, right to know that,
like at least she's aware of the mistakes that she's made.
It's hard to forgive somebody when they don't feel like
they've done anything. And that's important too, because I don't
want to also dismiss how you feel and how hurtful
that can be when somebody who was a grown up,
who is supposed to be protecting you is doing the opposite.
(58:57):
And so it feels like she might have other issues
in her life, like some things and a lot of
times if we think our parents are supposed to be
perfect and they're not. They mess up, they make wrong decisions.
But accountability is important and for you guys to be
able to express to her.
Speaker 6 (59:12):
I try.
Speaker 14 (59:13):
I'm going to take Mayo's advice as well. But our
kid did not really tried to have like a heart
to heart.
Speaker 12 (59:18):
My brother did too.
Speaker 14 (59:19):
He tried to play and she tried to. I was
just like, you know what, I'm really like just trying
to forgive and let go and let God deal with
you know, Mama, want to be more like I'm trying
to be like, I really want to do better. I
want to be better. I want to because like eventually
want dad has kids and I'm not trying to have
the same cycle.
Speaker 3 (59:38):
It might be time for her whole family sit down
intervention where you guys can really express.
Speaker 2 (59:44):
Jack, Yeah, like all of you to be able.
Speaker 3 (59:47):
To express and you know, not in a way that
you're ganging up on her and accusing her of things,
but expressing how you feel and how her actions have
caused you guys to feel, so that maybe she can
talk about her side of things and then you guys
can figure out what you need to do to move
forward so that you can trust her, because it's also
a matter of trust.
Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
You want to believe.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
You know that your mom won't keep on doing these
patterns that you say that she has, and the only
way that she'll stop is if she can acknowledge that.
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
There's an issue.
Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
Yes, I agree with you, you know, so I think
a family intervention slash sit down where it's not an attack,
but it's more like a conversation, you know, of how
and listen. Maybe it's time that you bring in a mediator,
you know, yeah, where it's not just you guys having
to do that, but there's somebody that can give you
these tools that you guys need in order to be
able to work through things. Because I agree with may No,
(01:00:39):
you have your mom and you want to make sure
and you know you know that too. You want to
love your mother and you want to make sure that
you guys get past anything, because God forbid anything. She
has to take work and everybody has to be doing
has to be willing to put in that work, not
just you guys, but she does too.
Speaker 12 (01:00:55):
Yes, I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
I know that's not easy.
Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
That's your mom, and you know at least you have
the support of your other family members though so sometimes
we could feel like we're crazy sometimes also our expectations.
Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
That people have to be managed.
Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
If you know this is your mom, this is her
pattern and nothing that you can do change, and maybe
you have just to lower your expectations of who she
is as a human being, which sucks but harsh, but
you don't want to set yourself up with disappointment time
and time again.
Speaker 14 (01:01:22):
Yes, and one day we'll work together, I promise you.
Speaker 2 (01:01:25):

Speaker 16 (01:03:52):
And we've been together for about three years, and on
our third dating anniversary, proposed to me. On our first
trip outside of the country. We went to Niagara Falls, Canada,
and we had a great time. He planned the perfect
proposal at the Secret Garden in Canada, so it was
like overlooking the falls and we just had a really
(01:04:13):
really romantic time, and I wanted to just let him
know how much I love him and appreciate him. His
name is Matthew, and he worked really, really hard. One
of the hardest working people that I know over in
the supports the truck driver. So I just wanted to
say thank you, and I love him so much, and
thank you guys so much for this opportunity to shine
(01:04:33):
the light of my recent proposal June. So we will
be getting married June of twenty twenty four, looking forward
to it. Thanks guys, have a great day night.
Speaker 17 (01:04:43):
My husband proposed to me at our college basketball game
back in February of twenty seventeen, three weeks prior to that.
He had stayed out all day up until the evening
on a Sunday and I was mad when he returned.
But he had gone out there to a family day.
He was gonna ask me to marry He had gone
called my mom spoke with my son to say that
(01:05:04):
he was going to marry me. But the thing is well,
when it was time to get ready to go to
the basketball game, I almost changed my mind. I was like, well,
I don't want to go, and my friends were like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
we're gonna go. Everybody knew except for me. So the
basketball gang started. During halftime, they asked like, we want
some seats to come down and shoot at halftime. Well,
(01:05:26):
of course I missed my shot. We were blindfolded when
we made the shot. When I took my blind for
Oldolph and turned around, he was down on one knee
and it was one of the most exciting but embarrassing moments.
This was at Alabama State University and we have now
been married five and a half years.
Speaker 7 (01:05:41):
Soon to be six.
Speaker 17 (01:05:42):
My name is Valencia Stayton Dustin and that was our
marriage proposal story.
Speaker 9 (01:05:49):
Going way out with Angela Ye
