There we go.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Yeah, you are a famed journalist. To be clear, I've
known Elliott for a long time. But you were the
founder of rap Radar. Yes, I still am, still am. Yeah,
you'll never not be the founder of that.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I got that rap raid of podcasts out here doing.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
I feel like when I first met you were you
editor in chief of Double Excel.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
But before that, Ego Trip.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Ego Trip I started. Yes, I was edited the chief
of Double Excel. That's probably what we first really connected,
like ninety nine and eight.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Yeah, so clearly we've known each other for a very
very very very long time.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Pleasure doing radio with you back then.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Also, yes, when I was that serious.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
A radio Hall of fame.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
I'm so glad to have to.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Hear Elliott because there's so many things we got to
talk about. You know, Drake called you out. Y'all have
a We're gonna get into that. But today we have
a great show. Skill a baby's gonna be joining us, okay,
because the youth took over big doll. And of course
we got to shine a light and start with some positivity.
Eight hundred and two nine two fifty one fifty is
a number. Call us up and let us know who

(01:20):
you want to show some love too. It's way up.

Speaker 6 (01:25):
Turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those who
are doing greatness. The light on, Shine the light on.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
It's time to shine a light on.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
All right. It's way up with Angela Ye, Angela Yee
and my guy, Elliott Wilson. Yeah, it's guest hosting for
the first time, that Elliott. This is where we spread
some love to people who are doing positive things. Right.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
I'm with that positivity in the morning after you and.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
You know yesterday I will talk about this in about
last night some more. But I hosted a screening with
my friend Jennifer for a show we have on v
H one, my true Scam Story. She got scammed, and
we did an event here up at iHeart And what
was great is I want to shine a light on
everybody who really helped pull this off. You know, I've
been so busy running around like crazy. But Brooklyn Roots

(02:12):
they actually catered everything for us, so shout out to them.
And the food was amazing. When I tell you, everybody
kept going back for more.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
They had this sign.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Yes, they had this very spicy and I mean spicy
Rickatoni but I love spicy food. And to Perier also
they also sponsored that, so of course, you know, we
need some drinks and I like to mix my drinks
with some Perier. Oh, I know it because I'm very fancy.
But thank you to Joe Olivia she is a salesperson
who helped put that together. To Joe DeAngelis, to Nikki,

(02:41):
to everybody who really helped make the event successful, just
because it was something that it is my first EP
credit on television, thank you and it meant a lot
to me.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
So I was glad to be able to do it
up here.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
And that's your friend, Yes, that's your friends.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
All right, Well, who do you guys want to shine
a light on? Eight hundred two nine two fifty one
fifty Elijah? How are you?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (03:03):
What's us? How's it going?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Who would you like to shine a light on?

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Elijah?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Listen?

Speaker 7 (03:08):
I went to Powerhouse last Friday, and let me just say,
the people there were amazing. The Powerhouse artists were amazing.
I was live while I was there. That's that fat
TikTok live. You can follow me? Do you jump to
square Hiphop?

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Okay?

Speaker 7 (03:25):
So I was live while I was there. I was
live during the Ice Spice performance and they were amazing.
I mean, it's something I would do again. That was
my first Powerhouse. I've never been to power House, so
that was so.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
You want to shine a light on Powerhouse?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
That's or all right, Thanks Elijah. I hope I hope
you come back next year. I hope we get to
meet you.

Speaker 7 (03:46):
All right, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
All Right, Well that was shining Light eight hundred two
nineteen fifty one fifty in case you couldn't get through.
And when we come back, we have yeat and we'll
talk about sojer boy, he did something he barely ever does.
He apologized today. Colin nick I Minaj is involved. Will
come back with that. It's way up at Angela, yee.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
They say, the rumors from industry shade to all the
gossips out Angela's speeling that eye.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
All right, it's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and my guy Elliott Wilson. Yeah, yeah, it's here
with me. All right. Well, let's get into some et
e T. I was telling Elliott I love gossiping with him.
He's a true journey I win.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
You gossip in a long time. No, I'm excited, all right.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Well, Soldio Boy versus j Cole. We never saw this coming. Now,
Jacob was a little Yachti's podcast, and here's what he
had to say in a moment of honesty.

Speaker 8 (04:36):
Around the time Soldier Boy came out. I don't know
how this happened, but I had a realization within myself
because I'm hearing that and I'm like, nah, that's not
the thing that I love like And it was literally
a part of me that had a realization.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
And I was young, because I was like, briuh, you
a hater.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Right, Like, how do you gonna hate on big soldiers?

Speaker 2 (04:56):
How you hate on big soldier? You can't hate on
big soldier?

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Oh man. Well so the boy, I guess, got window
of this and was not happy about it.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
You was a lame. He was lame.

Speaker 9 (05:06):
Nobody never listened to Jake Cole im from next time,
just shut up, don't say my.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Name at all?

Speaker 3 (05:12):
All right, I didn't think it was bad what he
said said he used to hate on him, that he
stopped hating on him, and that he was he was
a hater, and Soldier Boy went on on Twitter said,
and words always hated on me, nothing new him and
Big Sean was on some hating ish but f them,
I'm still lit. And then he added j Cole and said, hey, brother,
speak on me. I'm not a little pumped draking. None

(05:34):
of these rapper and words on God.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
But threat.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Things got straightened out though. It was Live with Nicki Minaj,
and here's what happened, Old, why.

Speaker 9 (05:46):
Is you going on the podcast talking about you don't
like my music?

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Babe?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
He never said that, babe. He basically gave you props.
I'm gonna go with y'all.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
If Nikki, that's the last person that I heard it.

Speaker 10 (05:58):
I heard what I heard, but.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
A cool.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I when somebody can take accountability, I feel like his therapist,
like I feel like this is like this.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I think it's the second time she's kind of smoothed
him out on some issues.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
So Ja Boy went on Twitter, said, Nikki just told
me I took what he said wrong and that he
was showing love. So I'm gonna let it go.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
My bad job.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
I really thought dude was hating on me. My bad
dog at Jacole. Sorry for the confusion. Keep doing your ish.
We from two different worlds. I stand on what I
stand on. It's hard coming from where I did. Man so,
he said he dealt with a lot of hate.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
We squash the beef.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Yeah, look at that. Only Nikki can clear this up
all right now. Rick Ross did an interview with Rolling Stone,
and he talked about a lot of things, including his
heart attack in twenty eighteen and making some big changes.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
He said, I still don't sleep.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
I'm a partier. I'm going to be that way till
I die. I've tried taking things to help, but it's useless.
The medicine that I take now is for seizures and
ish like that. I partied hard, and he said, when
you have a seizure, you wake up six hours later.
Like where am I? I still don't want to sleep.
I lay down for two to three hours. But he
said he's never had diabetes. Completely cut out soda, but
he's not on ozmpic. By the way wow.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
I remember when we were as side that first season, Like,
I was like that, I was on Twitter, like I
think he actually one of the first people he tweeted
when he got back. He tweeted me like a boss
okay or something like that. I was like, Okay, you're
all right, my guy.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
But that is scary. And shout out to Black Health.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I work with them, and a lot of what they
work on is dealing with heart health in the black community,
and so I just think it's important to educate ourselves
and pay attention to our bodies and do what we
need to because getting rest is super important.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
When I was at Double Excel, I was like twenty
nine years old. I had high blood pressure. I had
like went to the doctor. I didn't feel like two
hundred over or whatever. It was like, what do you
do for a living? I was like, I run a
rat magazine. Important job, but I was Swiss the world
saving the world. But now, but I've been tak high
blood pressure medicine since that time, So you have to
care yourself.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
People need to know that. Thank you for sharing that.
Thank you all right, Well, when we come back, that
was your ut we have about last night.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
That's where we discussed what we did last night.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
I'll tell you what I did, and Elliott is going
to tell us when he got into It's way up
at Angela yee. Yeah, last night.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
So about last night last night? Last night Zu.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Went down all right, his way up at Angela. Ye.
I'm Angela yee and Elliott Wilson is here.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Yeah, it feels good like we're supposed to be doing stuff.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Reunion fifteen years you know, Fame.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Turn List Okay, former editor in chief the Double X Health,
founder of rap Radar. All right, title, we know you've
been a title for quite some time. Yes, yes, so
last night. And you don't live in New York anymore.
By the way, you're from Queen's.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Yeah, some Queen's originally, but I'm now live in Venice, California.
Nobody believes me, which is so rare in New York.
I walked in California street, so I do like ten
thousand steps a day. I keep it.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Really, why Venice, California?

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I could walk?

Speaker 3 (08:43):
That's the real reason why drive? Seriously, he's a real
New Yorker. Drive, ladies and gentlemen. Well, last night I
hosted a screening with Jennifer Williams and Basketball Wives, or
Are My True scam Story? We actually watched it in
real time, so we streamed it from VH one while
it was on so we could all talk about it,
and in between while the commercials were playing, we just

(09:05):
kind of discussed what we just saw. But it was
basically about Jennifer getting her range Rover stolen from her
ex boyfriend. And it was interesting because I saw a
lot of people in the commons, and I do feel
like when you get scammed, people blame you. They're like,
you make bad decisions. You did this, It's your fault.
You know, why would it because she also not just

(09:27):
gave up her range Rover, but he got forty thousand
dollars cash from her too. Wow, that was supposed to
be for some real estate investment. And you know, she
was dating this guy. She thought she was doing the
right thing. He had all these cars, he seemed like
he owned a car company, luxury vehicles, and so she
believed him. Yeah, you know, and I was telling people.

(09:47):
I asked everyone in the room, have you ever been scammed?
And pretty much everybody raised their hand. Elliott, you ever
been scammed? I know you have.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
You know this is a shame in being scammed. That's
the thing that's saying. You don't want to you don't
want to say that. I don't think I've got to
take it for a lot of money, but I definitely
feel like some level.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
We've all been somebody trying to scam me. The other day, Wow, yeah,
it was like a stupid scam. They try to book
me for some podcasts, the podcast and Chill right, and
they were like, oh, we have four thousand dollars for
you to do this podcast. And I was like, hmm,
that doesn't you know because normally when people do podcasts,

(10:26):
it's not yeah, it's an interview. It's like when you're
interview people for GQ. You're not like, hey, you got.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
To pay me to do this anything unless it was
a sponsor attached or something like that.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
And so I was like, let me just go and
do a little research.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
And then I saw that they had posted back in
August to watch out for these people scamming and trying
to solicit for interviews and offering you money. So I
love responding to people when they try to scam me.
So I just took it. I told them, I said, hey,
I know that this is a scam. Just so you know,
bro back, I just want to be like who you

(10:59):
think I am? I'm stupid. But yeah, so you guys,
Part two is going to be on next week and
Part two is going to be the part where you
see the men that he scammed. He was meeting men
on this dating app called Jacked, and so there's a
couple of guys that got scammed and also.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
You know not Yeah, so he just so he gets
confronted on the scamming justice.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
He got to watch in so that it does have
he scammed his own father, and his father's on there
next week too. Imagine scamming your own dad. All right, Well, anyway,
I want to hear about you guys though, because Elliott,
I want to hear your story too, because you didn't
tell us you got a little scam.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
When we come back and we.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Want to hear you guys too, call us up eight
hundred nine two fifty one fifty. Whether it's small or big,
we would love to hear things that have happened to you.
Just so, I've been scammed a couple of times. Somebody
scamming for eight thousand dollars and that was all the
money I had in the world at the time. But
we'll talk about it. But eight hundred two nine fifty
one fifty, let's hear from you to do this.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
Yeah, yeah, more way up with them?

Speaker 3 (12:04):
You know who it is, all right, But Angela Yee,
I'm Angela Yee, and Elliott Wilson is here with me.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
So Elliott, we're talking about scam stories right because my
two scam story came out yesterday on v H one
with Jennifer Williams and I.

Speaker 5 (12:20):
Wanted to executi produced by Angela, executive.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Produced by me.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
So have you ever been scammed?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
I really thinking about it that the last time I
got burnt was like I don't like any of the
Airbnb rental type culture, like saying you're gonna put this
money up in the place looks like this. So I
think I'm office Vineyard. We have rented the place and
everything that you can't.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
I said, we didn't need to worry about Elliott cursing
and here sorry, sorry, sorry, it was a shack.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
It was a shack. It was a shack. Yes, I
think I got burnt for a couple couple of thousands.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
And there's nothing you can do about that. You can't
say you can't complain.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
We called the person. It was a lot of running games,
and that's why I don't never like it. I think
my thing is about hotels and stuff. I don't like that.
I've never had a jam in Airbnb experience type stuff
I have.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
I have actually a property on Airbnb. That's amazing.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
I'm sure I see there's no.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
Oh man, I think. Well, I got scammed really when
I was very, very green in this game. And so
I remember getting back from being on tour and I
had made I think eight thousand dollars, right, that was
all the money I had. When I tell you, no
money in a bake, nothing else, but that was all
the money that I had. And I wanted to buy
a car, and so my brother had a neighbor that

(13:33):
actually was a car dealer, and so he was like,
I'll go to the auction. I'll get to this car
at the auctions price or whatever. So I was excited.
So I was like, he's like, I needed to give.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Me the money up front.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
I gave him all my money and he never ever
got me in the car and just disappeared. And then
the assistant DA called me and they were supposed to
be like investigating him because I guess he was a scammer.
His name was Kennedy. His name is Kennedy and he
lives in Georgia now, and so that was the worst experience.

(14:05):
But it was something that happened to me when I
was in my early twenties, and so I think it
was a valuable lesson for me because it made me learn,
like to not ever just give somebody who I don't
know like that cash. But the thing was, he had
gotten cars for other people before, and it didn't seem
like he was doing anything crazy. He was just, you know,
helping people get cars. And he had gotten a couple

(14:25):
of cars for people, and he was like, I'll call
you from the auction and I'll let you know what's
available and we'll get you a car. And I was
so thirsty to get one. All right, Well, we want
to hear you guys in your scamm stories. I'm sure
that's not the only thing that's ever happened to me,
but that was the biggest one for me, and that
was something that I was really like traumatized over that cause,
when I tell you, I worked for like on the

(14:45):
road for two months and made that money, it was everything,
you know, and so I had bills and we had
to defer my student loans. All right, well, let's hear
your stories. Eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty.
We're talking about times that we got scammed, Lolita, what's
good you got scammed?

Speaker 11 (15:00):
Yes? Looking up cards on craig List. They said they
wanted to get rid of it because it was a
family member's car that passed and then kept reminding them
too much of them, so they wanted to get rid
of it. Okay, At first I thought, okay, the price
does sound kind of low, but with their story, you know,
they made it sound good. I had to go get

(15:23):
a prepaid cards to send the money in. They ended
up telling me after I send all the money in
that I need to send more money for insurance. And
that's kind of what Red flagged me.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
Wait so you said prepaid cards.

Speaker 11 (15:36):
Yes, so they couldn't track them.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Wow.

Speaker 11 (15:39):
But anyways, I had to do a police report and
I lost out on my money because they couldn't check
the one but no cards, right, So never again.

Speaker 5 (15:50):
Thank you for calling.

Speaker 11 (15:52):
Thank you?

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Hey, what's up now? This next caller, Elliott, wants to
staying on him and so we're gonna call you X. Hey, X,
how are you? Oh yeah, what's your scam story? What happened?

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Ye're my wife. He had a lot of money.

Speaker 10 (16:06):
I'll just say a lot of money enough to.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Buy a house.

Speaker 12 (16:09):
Okay, it was more than it was more.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Than twenty grand I said, okay, look I work. We're
gonna get this house. All you gotta do pay your
car insurance and.

Speaker 10 (16:19):
I got everything else. And then we're gonna wait, get
her credit right and get to you and get a house,
and you're gonna move from there. We got we ended
up getting divorce. By the time she left, she only
had eighteen left. And I'll say that that was more
than half.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Then she ended up bought spending the money on this
random person instead of we got kids, and instead of saying, hey,
I'm gonna break you off. You know, I know I
left the family. You know, I help you pay something,
I help the girls with the phones, some food, something.
She just wan to sit eighteen prand on this guy,

(16:56):
and this guy ended up leaving her.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
Oh wow.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Now is that a scam though? Or is that more
like mam?

Speaker 1 (17:05):
We we sat down playing and we said, hey, look,
we put the money atide and that's what ended up
happening in the long run.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
And said, there's nothing you could do in court, right
because I know a lot of times they look at
that as like a love crime.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Yeah, and you know what, she's homeless now, so I'm there.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
I took a show.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Yeah, yeah, it's that bad.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Man and y'all have kids.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
I will say it took me a year and a
half to get my credit right. I had gotten a
car coach, tign for a car and everything. She messed
my credit up by not playing a car. Feel long time,
but that ended a long day to me get in
my house. Long story short, I finally have a house.
Me and my family, me and my kids. We got
a house and we're not exactly I don't want to

(17:54):
say happy, but you know we're dealing all we gotta
deal with and moving on. It was so much trauma.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
But yeah, I'm glad you will do. I'm glad you
managed to pull it together though for your family, and
I do believe in karma. Definitely spins the black and
it feels like it hit her hard, super hard.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Yeah, sad story.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
All right, Well, thank you for calling and sharing.

Speaker 10 (18:15):
Hey, thank y'all.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Love listen to me.

Speaker 3 (18:18):

Speaker 5 (18:57):
Today is the.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Anniversary of the album Liquid Swords by the when the
came all right somehow, that's right, and that came out
November seventh, nineteen ninety five. All right, now let's get
into some yet Geez is putting out a new interview.
It's him and Nia Long. It's actually going to come
out today at three pm. All right, so this should

(19:21):
be an interesting one. I feel like this was a
good pairing. Here's what the preview sounds like. The hardest
thing to do is to walk aways from someone that
you still love, going through your trials and tribulations, like
are you okay?

Speaker 5 (19:34):
I think I'm exactly where I need to be.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I kind of understand what when you say that?

Speaker 6 (19:40):
Coming forth and telling my truth is I wanted to
have a family father me too.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
I wanted to right and both of them just recently
got out of relationships.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
She was very publicly cheated on.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
And we don't know what's happened with GZ yet, but
I feel like in this interview we might get some insight. Yeah,
we might find out what happened. And he did put
out a new album. I might forgive, but I don't forget.
That was twenty nine songs.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
A lot of songs on there, but good songs on that.
Shouts of Justice League. They did a lot of the
production on there.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
It's a good album, and the song Don't Cheat got
a lot of attention by the way all right, And
speaking of long albums, Chris Brown has a new album
about to come out, and it's gonna be twice as
long as originally prime is. He announced this album, he
tricked us, yes, leading it to the number eleven. It
was called eleven eleven. It was set to drop on
November eleventh, but now it looks like it's going to

(20:31):
be twenty two songs.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
As he fooled me. Man, I really thought Chris was
gonna slim it down, do the little traditional album, but
he likes them long albums. Man shouting breezy twenty.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Two Yeah, and he posted all of the tracks already
on his social media on his Instagram, and so should
be interesting. And his last album was was long to
how many album? How many songs were on his last album?

Speaker 2 (20:54):
He does at least twenty plus every time. Yeah, one
he did like what forty.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
It's amazing either saying.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
I streaming companies, you know, it's the streams. A lot
of songs can help you get a lot of play.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Yeah, but it's hard for some people to do an
album that long. I mean it's hard because you want
to have all bangers, and but Chris Brown's able to
do it.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Chris Brown's a tremendous.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Catalog all right now, Queen Naja, she recently sat down
and did an interview about and it was very honest.
And I think that when it comes to women and
families and children, everybody has an opinion. Sometimes it's hard
to admit that the grass could be sometimes, you know people,
and I do have a lot of friends of kids.
I don't have any kids, yes, And I've had them

(21:33):
tell me sometimes and they feel a little guilty about it,
like it must be nice to be able to do
what you want when you want to do it.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
Here's what you had to say.

Speaker 13 (21:40):
Sometimes I envy the girls that get to wake up
with no kids and like literally get to design their
apartment the way that they want and like literally go
and just do what everything want. I had CJ at nineteen,
I got married at nineteen, right, and then like from
that relationship that failed, I went right into another relationship,
so I had another baby, like and so I've never

(22:00):
gotten a chan no.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
Yrself or do you all right?

Speaker 3 (22:04):
So shout out to her. It's called Let's Talk About It,
by the way, that's her podcast.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Shout out to the hardworking moms out there.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
With her friend Dommy V and so the two of
them are moms, and so for them to have these conversations,
it felt very comfortable.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Yeah, it reminds me when I was doubles. I editor Paula Renfro.
She's a mother, she had like two kids, and like
a lot of us were all single. But it was
like she was working just as hard of us. But
then she had to go home and be a mother
and make dinner and do all. I was like, I
don't know how you do this.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Paula, Like so yeah, and sometimes it's hard even at work,
Like you feel like if you have kids and the responsibilities,
people look at you differently, like is she going to
be able to stay late?

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Is she going to be able to work? Is she
going to be able to travel?

Speaker 3 (22:39):
I do think for women sometimes it's different because when
a woman is about to have a kid, sometimes it's.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
An issue for people.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
But men they're never like, you're about to have a kid,
are you sure you can do this?

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Well, you're able to travel? No one asks you all that.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Yeah, we don't get all that all right now, Rick
Ross and Meek Mel have a lunch of sweepstakes for
a chance to win fifty thousand dollars ahead of their
release of their joint album Too.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
Good to Be True.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
This is Friday finally, right, yeah, finally, and it wraps
up on November sixteenth. By the way, So if you
want to win that fifty grand, should we enter Elliott?

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Are we disqualified? Can we get that paper? Can break
it down here?

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Disqualified? It's necessary, it says here.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Dinner with Meek Mail and.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Rick Ross, I think they would tell us the fifty
k right and Meek Mill also talks about the time
that he asked Jay Z for his Rockefeller chain, even
though he could have went ahead and bought his own.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
Here's what he told complex.

Speaker 9 (23:32):
I always wanted that rock piece I seen whole one day.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
I'm bold as a mother.

Speaker 9 (23:38):
I was like, yo, man, I get that rock chain
right down so I could buy one. But it ain't
the same if I bought it. I need this actual
art effect from you. He took it off and gave
me that wow.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Hen See, sometimes I'm jealousy. You gotta just ask.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
You never asked for it me a beat. I should
have asked by now right, I'm.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Surprised you haven't asked, jay Z. Can I have that change?

Speaker 2 (24:02):
I know you know, that's how you got one. You
have to ask them.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Now you know what to do.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
Now you know what to do when you see you.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
I'm on the next time I see you over my ask.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Can I have that change? I could buy? But all right,
when we come back, we have under the radar. These
are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They are flying under the radar. And right now, let's
get into some Neo. I see Leo has another collab
that he's doing with fab Right. We love when they
isn't that right? When they get together?

Speaker 7 (24:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Right, combination.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
Well, here's sexy love right now, and under the radar
after that, it's way up.

Speaker 6 (24:33):
Position in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar, all right.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
It is way up with Angela yea, I'm Angela yee,
Elliott Wesson, Yeah, I'm here, acclaimed journalist.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Yes, yes.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
And I saw this when I was with Rosanna Scotto
on Good Day in New York. She was reporting on
this a company that's paying you to make your bed
every day. It's a jewelry company called Shane Co. And
what they want to do is pay somebody one thousand dollars.
If you can commit to making your bed for thirty
days straight, you have to do that for a full
month and also provide thoughts on how the daily exercise

(25:06):
impacts your overall feelings. Now, they've done studies that show
that people who make their bed every day actually make
more money and I'm more successful. Yes, do you make
your bed only when the wife makes me go in
there and make the bed, You'll make your bed.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
She likes different layers of the comforters and all that.
It's a lot of lay a lot of things got
to get laid out. If you don't get done properly,
you don't.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
Have a sham and you have to have all kinds
of things. I definitely don't make my bed every day,
but yeah, it's not my thing, it's not my jam.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
But maybe for a thousand dollars, I would.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
I mean, I think we were incentivized, you know what.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
I think I'll try it because I want to see
how that helps with my daily routine. All right now,
in Miami, in the Brickell neighborhood, they're going to have
a new project that's groundbreaking underway. It is a school
where teachers can live and work under the same roof.
All right, Raoul par As is the person that is
behind the practice. He said, what you're looking at here

(26:03):
is a very unique collaboration between Miami Dade County Public
Housing and Community Development and the school district. And so
the development is estimated to be in the multimillion dollar range.
But the teachers will live on the top floor of
the building. Wow, right, I don't know how. I mean,
look on the second and third floors. It's a residential unit,

(26:23):
and then below that is where the school will be.
Sometimes though, you want to not be in the same
environment where you work. But I can't understand how this
could be an attraction for some teachers.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
But I when I was a kid, if you saw
your teacher outside of like school was like scary. If
you ever ran a few teachers.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
That happened to me, Oh my gosh.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
I just want to tell you.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
One time I was in the park and I was
with one of my friends and we ran into our teacher,
and you know, she was a lesbian. She was with
her girlfriend and they were sitting on the bench kissing,
and I was like, and I actually said her name.
I was like, miss such and such, and she was
like oh hello. You could tell she was a little
caught off guard, but so were we. Where you're not
used to see your teacher outside of school, you're.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Right now you're going to see who you teach, your
dates and stuff coming up to the third floor, Like,
who's this guy side closed?

Speaker 3 (27:07):
All right, well, that's your under the radar and you
know we have the way up mixed coming at the
top of the hour so we can be here putting
our hands on our knees. Also, skill a baby from
the d is going to be joining us. All right,
it's way up with Angela Yee woya. She's like the
talk like a Angela Jean, like they Angela Jee.

Speaker 6 (27:24):
Man, she's spilling it all.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
This is yet way.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
All right, it's way up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
I'm Angela Yee And Mega journalist Elliott Wilson is here like.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
That Mega Mega, Mega journal Yeah, I call Mega from
Queen all.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Right, and it's yea tea times. Siss has been named
Variety's twenty twenty three Hit Maker of the Year. I
think that makes perfect sense.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
This has been dominating, man. I still want to interview
sism Ma and sis A. Promise me an interview on
Instagram DM and then she kind.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Of curzy hasn't done it yet.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yeah, I'm still walling.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
You know. We've been in a couple of times. She's amazing.
I think she gets very in her head about stuff.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Yeah, she's a she's a tough subject. I noticed what
she's done here. She's done a lot of great press,
like my wife did the Great Store on the New
York Times. But she hasn't done an on camera interview,
I don't think since the album came out. So that's
really the goal to try to make her feel comfortable
enough to do an on camera interview.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
So I went to her tour. When I tell you
her show is amazing, you got to make sure you
get out to there.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
And she like levitates above the crowd, right.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Yeah, and all the girls in the audience knew like
all the worst of all the songs. I was like,
this is amazing, you know.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
But yeah, she's been dominating. Album came out almost a
year ago.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
Actually, you know, I went with de Woods and Channel
from Young Money there with them out to y'all. All right,
Kevin Gates has gotten a huge honor in New Orleans.
He actually was at the ceremony and here's what this
sounded like. Oh sorry, okay, forget it.

Speaker 9 (28:58):
Kevin Gates, the State of Louisiana, spirit by United people.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
I'm serving as an inspiration two generations of musicians and fans.
I'm LaToya Cantrell, Mayor of the City of New Orleans, extend.

Speaker 9 (29:14):
My deepest gratitude for your invaluable contributions.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
That was rowdy. Who was yelling that's right, that's right,
that's right.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Tried out to Mayor LaToya Cantrell too. So she's amazing.
I've had the privilege of meeting her a few times.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
She's New Orleans first ever female may yet yeah, she
be outside too. I can tell it's like a row.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
All right, Doctor Phil is back, in case you missed him, Yes,
Less than a year after that sing the end of
his Doctor Phil daytime talk show, he will now be
on a new network. So it's called Merritt Street Media.
He posted a video announcement and said it's going to
be focused entirely on what's important to you, what you

(30:00):
want to talk about, what you want to do, and
Doctor Phil is going to be on in prime time.
It's gonna premiere February twenty six. According to a press release.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Wow, he's seventy three years old.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Man.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
See, we don't retire, and we can't keep going this.
You know, the youngest took over. We can still be
do what I think?

Speaker 5 (30:16):
All right?

Speaker 3 (30:17):
And Megan Fox is reflecting on something very heartbreaking that
happened to her and her new book of poetry, Pretty
Boys Are Poisonous. She talked about suffering from a miscarriage
while she and her fiance Machine Gun Kelly were ten
weeks and one day and so. She had also shared
on Good Morning America she has three kids, she said,

(30:37):
so it was very difficult for both of us, and
it sent us on a very wild journey together and
separately trying to navigate what does this mean and why
did this happen? But she said she's never been through
anything like that in her life.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Terrible. Are they still to other as a couple?

Speaker 3 (30:51):
I believe so?

Speaker 7 (30:53):
Right?

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Are they still?

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (30:55):
I think they are still together. So shout out to
them and that is your ye. And when we come back,
I want to talk to you, Elliott will.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Say, let's do it.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
I want to make sure that everybody here, I'm going
to make sure that you knows Wilson is I mean
you were the editor in chief of Double XL magazine,
the founder of rap Radar.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
You also founded Ego Trip.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Yeah, this for thirty years a hip hop journalism, like
your last hip hop journalist left content?

Speaker 3 (31:22):
Uh what was the chief content office? The title A
title years for several years, Yes, indeed. And you also
are a journalist for Real GQ magazine.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
So many interviews, Yeah, jay Z, Drake Nipsey, the great
Nipsey Hustle.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Will Smith and you and Drake had a very well
documented back and forth and we're going to talk about that.
So that's what you have going on right now with
Patreona rights. But Angela ye will talk to Elliott Wilson
when we come back.

Speaker 6 (31:51):
You'll be way of what Angela break them break them
down more now.

Speaker 5 (31:59):
Yeah, I never heard before. It's way up with.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Changes of happening here.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
Elliott Wilson is here with me. Yes, Elliott is the
goat of hip hop journalists.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Trying to tell him. Man thinking mad when I say that.
Sometimes you shout out to Angie Martina, shout out to Sway.
They're great too, But you're the coat.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
You gotta think that about yourself.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
I say.

Speaker 5 (32:20):
You also posted about Liquid Swords.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
On this date in nineteen ninety five, he came, I
wrote the article soon to get an article on rap Page.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
When he said the Rap Page, Rap Page's article was
ray Kwan. It was actually going to be a Jizzer feature,
but then we all heard the advance of Cuban Link,
so it became a Jizza ray Kwan split feature. And
then ghost Face showed up. You know, we finally took
the mask off. So wow, that whole thing is right
there in nineteen ninety five, you have that mask on. Yeah,
you know the answers to that angelo.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
In our trivia ghost Face.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
I think he had a couple of lost situations that
needed to get sorted out.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
Just can't see my face.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
And in the meantime, you know, Rap Crew was flourishing.
So you know, since Face revealed, the game got real.
That's one of the best lines ever.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Now, Elliott, people don't know about your long, long, long history,
A long time man and so and I will say
this sometimes it's really hard because I was looking at
like certain things like Lorilla and Kys and not and
the issue they had with his review of her album.
So I wanted to ask you, as a person who
was the music was the editor in chief of double

(33:23):
XL founder or rap raator are there's times.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
When we to the source giving the mis out.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
Music edit of the source. Right, everybody wants.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Five mics, yea, they want them five mikes.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Man, So for you, how was it like balancing? Because
sometimes you have personal relationships with artists and so.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
You always say, like you have your ups and downs
with these artists. You have to manage the relationship like
any relationship. That's why even with Drake, uh spoiler alert.
You know, we're trying to work things out. I've been,
I've had some good changes.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Let's talk about what happened with Drake. Okay, okay. So
you had posted something about Drake basically not doing interviews
within the culture. Yes, yes, okay, and Drake responded. What
did Drake say?

Speaker 2 (34:04):
He clapped at me an academics page and told me
that they don't get mad at the youth took over, Belie.

Speaker 5 (34:10):
Don't get mad that the youth took over.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
All right?

Speaker 5 (34:13):
And so since then, did you guys have a conversation.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Behind the scenes, We've been sending some dms and things
seem a little friendly, and he's liked some things on
my Instagram page, so I seem that's a good sign
of us moving towards moving forward with this. The main
thing I thought was, yeah, I get protective, like when
people do things outside the culture. I'm like, yo, you know,
I defend hip hop, and I had those conversations in
private with like would hop back in the day at
those times. But you know, Drake's been real good to

(34:36):
me and we've done a lot of classic interviews, so
I should have at least spoke to him personally before
I took it to the world.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
So that's why I apologize and speaking of those classic interviews,
because that's how people were going at you, and they
were like, well, you've gotten some interviews with Drake. Is
that what you want another one?

Speaker 2 (34:50):
I didn't ask for another one. I don't know how
I'm going to top the last one. Man, we did
an amazing one men beat at the wrapper or podcast,
So I don't know, but nah, but I definitely don't.
I didn't like beefing with him because when you be
for him so huge, it's like so much attention comes. Yeah,
now you have millions, yeah, and the fans are crazy,
and then the other people in the culture, they do
their comments and opinions on and they take pictures and

(35:10):
put your heads together on the little it's too much
memes and all that. Listen.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
And now you have this Patreon that you want to
make sure that people because you have a lot of history,
Like I said, so tell us where people can find.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
That Patreon dot com. Elliot Wilson, I started this hip
hop newsletter called The Model, which basically is like my
et I just give you, like the ten top stories
I feel today. Less gossip be on my side of town.
On my side of town, Elliott, No, I'm terrible at gossip.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
We'll get more into that and when we come back,
we do have ask ye eight hundred nine fifty one
fifty is a number. Anything you need help with, We're
here to help me. And Elliott Wilson. It's way up
a Angela yee.

Speaker 6 (35:47):
But it's relationship for career advice. Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
This is aske what's up? Its way up with Angela yee.
I'm Angela Yee, and Elliott Wilson is here. Elliott, you
ready to get some advice.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Let's get it.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
Let's get it, Let's get it.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
He comes to two Nights two fifty one fifty. Now
we have someone on the line who wants to remain anonymous.

Speaker 5 (36:04):
Hello, Hello, are you okay? Yeah, I'm okay, Okay, So
what is your question today?

Speaker 14 (36:11):
I just wanted to know, like, what should I do?
My husband left while I was sleeping and he said
he don't want to be with me no more because
I found a condom in his car.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Wow, So you found a condom in his car and
now he doesn't want to be with you?

Speaker 7 (36:25):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (36:26):
How long were you guys married?

Speaker 14 (36:28):
Who was married for like three years?

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Okay? And were there some indications to you that something
wasn't right?

Speaker 14 (36:34):
Yes, he man takes in other females and telling me
that he is not him He those are his clients.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
Okay, So you basically knew he was doing other things,
but you didn't.

Speaker 12 (36:46):
Think he would leave exactly.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
And you still want to be with him even though
he's with other women and you found a condom in
the car. Or is it that you just feel like
he left you and that's what's bothering you that you
feel like he doesn't love you.

Speaker 14 (37:02):
I do want to be with him because we have
a kid together, but then it's like I don't want
to be with him because I don't want to be
miserable for eighteen years.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
We don't want you to be miserable for eighteen years either.
And I hate to say this, but he just did
you a favor by leaving, because you would have stayed
in this situation and you would have been okay with
him doing whatever it is that he's doing as long
as he was still with you. When he was with you,
and you deserve more than that. And your kid deserves
to grow up in a household where they see their

(37:32):
mother being valued and loved and in that type of
situation because they're watching you, and how old is your child?

Speaker 4 (37:40):
Three?

Speaker 14 (37:41):
Seven and eleven, and.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
They're seeing what's happening, and they don't want this for
their mother either, exactly, you know, And I just think
that it is hard, right, but it does take time
for people to be able to get over our heartbreak
and move on. And it's okay right now you feel hurt,
your heart is broken, if you need to seek perfect
no help to figure out how you need to move forward.

(38:03):
But again, this wasn't going anywhere, unfortunately, and it's his fault.
Apparently he's not man enough to say this isn't working
for me. He's not man enough to just focus on
his marriage and stick to his vows. Unfortunately, he's not
a good person.

Speaker 14 (38:18):
Yeah, you're right, Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
And I think you knew what you needed to do.

Speaker 14 (38:23):
Yeah, I do, but I just wanted to hear from you.
I love you so much, all.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Right, I love you too, and I want you to
check back in with me. Okay, please, okay, I will Okay,
if you need anything, you let me know.

Speaker 14 (38:34):
All right, Thank you so much. Can I shout out

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Amen?

Speaker 4 (39:05):
All right?

Speaker 3 (39:06):
That was asking y eight hundred nine fifty one fifty
in case you couldn't get through see Elliott.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
That that was great. That's only only you could do that.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
You were like, I get into this.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
I was like a separation is needed.

Speaker 5 (39:19):
Just do journalism.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Separation is needed. Man, you ain't gonna get it together.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Girl, eave him all right, and skill a Baby when
we come back. See now this is the journalism. You'll
lie there we go all right, it's way up at
the Angela Ye, what up? Though, yes said, let's get it.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Let's go.

Speaker 6 (39:34):
Way up with Angela. He is back to set off
your work day from the music.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
What's up this way up at the Angela Yee? I'm
Angela yee. Jasmine brand is here. Yes, oh as superstar
Skill a Baby is here with us today. What's up?
I was watching your movie outside?

Speaker 4 (39:49):
Oh yeah, I'm a terrible act.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
You why do you say that? Don't put yourself down
like that.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
I'm terrible acting. I don't get paid.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
Apparently people enjoyed it because I saw everybody You're like,
skill is in a two B movie, So I was like,
we gotta watch outside.

Speaker 5 (40:03):
It's called Was it fun to make?

Speaker 3 (40:05):
At least?

Speaker 1 (40:05):
No?

Speaker 15 (40:07):
What what was You really didn't enjoy it?

Speaker 14 (40:09):
Did you?

Speaker 4 (40:10):
It's real tedious like I had committed to it and
so I had to finish it.

Speaker 5 (40:16):
And you at the story. It wasn't just like no,
like appearance.

Speaker 4 (40:20):
Keep taking doing takes over and stuff like that. I
ain't really like that I was going through. I had
got shot during that movie. Okay, I still did the movie.

Speaker 5 (40:29):
You did this was that outside the studio real I.

Speaker 15 (40:33):
Got shot all and you still had to do the movie.

Speaker 4 (40:35):
I ain't have to.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
You committed yourself, so you said I'm gonna do what
I said I was set out to do.

Speaker 15 (40:41):
After that situation, you have a security now sometimes.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
Or just but I just I figured, like I'm gonna
just give the city a break for a minute, because
I'll be trying to be a hood right too much
like I just going to everything by myself being the
middle of the hood. I just you.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
Can't do that. You can't do that anymore because I
think there's a lot at stake, and people do try
to have a moment, Like people will be like phones out.
All I heard was l A Skiller getting jump He
getting jumped.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
Yeah, like that situation, Like you would think like somebody
will try to be embarrass me or something, but I'm
not easily embarrassed, so it'd be like somebody'll come out
try to have their moment with their phone up or boom,
is Skiller were about to try to act like he
like he ain't no gangster nothing, which I'm not, but
I ain't just no curse. So it just be like

(41:29):
you could try to have your moment, but certain stuff
I just don't be going for, right, But I don't
condone violence or no gangster stuff around kids, so I
ain't want to do that. That was kind of the
only embarrassing thing about it was I was around all
those kids.

Speaker 5 (41:45):
Right right, and there were women around too.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
Women, They were like, the women's going hard too. They
was like, look, y'all, ain't gonna mess with with Skillery
live right now, Jasmine Brand and I are talking to
Skill a baby, And I think that is also very
evident in the music that you make too, like the
song Babe that's out right now. I see the girls
are going crazy over that, you know, but some people
will say Skill, it really makes music for the ladies.

(42:08):
Is that intentional?

Speaker 4 (42:10):
That song was intentional like everything else.

Speaker 3 (42:12):
Like gorgeous that song with you and Grizzly, Yeah, that's definitely,
you know, for the women, the song with Dusty or
but you like to check on the ladies. He laughed
like he out he don't rap about Chanel bags and
you gonna get.

Speaker 5 (42:27):
You some stuff?

Speaker 3 (42:27):
Though, why do they read?

Speaker 5 (42:31):
What are the requirements for that?

Speaker 13 (42:33):
Then?

Speaker 3 (42:33):
Like when it comes to dating, is that like a
first date, I'm gonna get you a Chanel bag? Or
is that after you've already.

Speaker 4 (42:39):
It's just what I feel like doing for the day.
You don't even gotta I don't even really gotta be
messing with you for really, you know, you don't gotta
be my girlfriend. If I feel like if I go
to the mall and I feel like you, I want
you to head is how I get it for you?

Speaker 15 (42:53):
What's the most expensive item you bought a woman?

Speaker 4 (42:57):
I don't know. I didn't bought chains, Perses, cars, cars.

Speaker 5 (43:02):
He took it too far.

Speaker 15 (43:04):
I got to move to.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Normal with her.

Speaker 15 (43:08):
That's not normal by the cars.

Speaker 4 (43:10):
If I was about to give you a carb my name,
I really you could be your name?

Speaker 5 (43:16):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (43:16):
What if she has a man?

Speaker 4 (43:17):
I don't really be paying attention to people personal lives.
If I like you, I like you, it's insane. Your
man at home just don't big around.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
Oh my god, it's so funny. So you've never been
in a serious relationship or you've just never been in love.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
I've never been in love. I've been in a relationship before.
I've been in one relationship.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
Okay, but you weren't in love.

Speaker 4 (43:39):
Not in love, but you loved her, loved her Okay,
I thought I was in love.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Okay, what happened?

Speaker 2 (43:46):
A cheat?

Speaker 3 (43:47):
I mean, you are still young? What are you now?
Twenty four, twenty five, twenty five years old? You know,
I don't think I dated a guy when I was
that young that didn't cheat.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
Yeah, did you all cheat?

Speaker 14 (43:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (43:58):
I've cheated before. But I think women cheat for different reasons.
I think normally a woman isn't gonna initiate it. Like
when I cheated, it was because I knew he was
cheating because I called him. He called me by accident
and I heard him talking to the girl, and that
he would just lie about it. And I also feel
like it's disrespectful when you're caught to lie.

Speaker 4 (44:16):
He probably was just playing stop it skill.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
You don't even know him. The situation, You know, guys
just covering for this man that he's never met him life,
that's all dying. See now, how I'm just telling you
the situation. I'm not bashing him. I'm telling you what happened.
I don't feel like, oh my gosh, all right, skill
a Baby is here and we are talking about his
new single Bay Making songs for the ladies and of

(44:41):
course his joint album with te Grizzly.

Speaker 5 (44:43):
We have more with him when we come back. It's
way You put Angela Ye.

Speaker 6 (44:48):
Angela is back to set off your workday.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
What's up? It's way You put Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Jasmine brand is here and we got Detroit's own skill
a Baby.

Speaker 5 (44:58):
You have a lot of people that have been working
with you.

Speaker 3 (45:00):
I said, when you did the album and you had
the bonus songs put on, you got a lot of
guest appearances on there. So do you feel like now
a lot of people are lining up to work with you?
And what was it like before that where people like
you reached out? Did people curb you or were people
always open to working with you.

Speaker 4 (45:15):
I don't really be reaching out to people because I'd
be feeling like if it's on happy that happened organically.
It's easier now. Of course I'll be getting some of
my dream features now, so I just be like, like
Meek Miil, I got a song with Meek Meal that
was probably my favorite future. That's my favorite artist. Me
and Meek don't even talk about music for real. We

(45:36):
talk about all types of funny other stuff like dog cool,
like you cool for real. I actually told me like
when I met him, like, man, I ain't really been
feeling what you've been putting out. And he explained the
whole run down, like why he been putting certain stuff out,
and he played me a bunch of music and I
was like, man, meet my favorite rapper again. The world
just don't know. It's just me and gun to his phone.

Speaker 15 (45:58):
And the mere fact you could be honest with him
like that.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Yeah, some people get very say they never talk to you.

Speaker 4 (46:03):
Messed with me more because I said it.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Like people need that around them. Has anybody ever told
you that?

Speaker 8 (46:09):
Ye?

Speaker 4 (46:10):
Like I be wanting people to tell me that type
of stuff.

Speaker 3 (46:12):
Now, another thing that you did it went viral, was
you piece things up with side of baby and t grizzily.

Speaker 5 (46:17):
So what made you decide that.

Speaker 4 (46:18):
With that big To the outside world, people be thinking this,
this and that, but a lot of stuff don't even
be that. And it's like it's three four sides to
stories and then a lot of stuff be people around
people be trying to just be messier, to be a
person that you ain't even gangster. You want to see
some gangster stuff go on? Like for what these two

(46:40):
grown me and making money? Why can't they make some
money together? You see they right now they on the
game every day together. He showed side of how to
make money on the game, all type of stuff. And
they really to me, they just they wanted to be
around each other. Like I'm talking to them both, so
I already knew. So it wasn't really hard. I didn't

(47:01):
even tell them to do that. I told them I
was gonna put them in the same room. And then
when I put them in the same room, I left.
I didn't even say nothing to them. They grown me in.
And that's what I think the world lack right now.
People don't know how to hold conversations right. A lot
of stuff could be nipped in the bud with a conversation.

Speaker 3 (47:19):
That's true. Right now, Jasmine Brand and I are talking
to scale a baby, And what about entrepreneurial adventures outside
of music? What are some other things that you're interested
in doing, because I know we all about getting to
the money too.

Speaker 4 (47:31):
Oh yeah, I'm doing the housing development stuff. Now like
partner with the city and like other people from different cities,
they're about to develop a bunch of houses starting in
the Detroit area.

Speaker 3 (47:42):
Oh that's great.

Speaker 4 (47:43):
We like that's really about to help me get some
rappers to help get on to it. So, oh, were
about to kill all our rapper friends and develop houses
in Detroit try to build the community.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
I like that really shy and it does beneficial things
with the community. Well, listen, we appreciate you so much
for coming through skill We missed you want lip service too,
I'll come back all right. I feel like you got
a lot more to say when it comes to that.
And as far as any other plans, like tour, what
what are you doing with that?

Speaker 4 (48:10):
Me and Rapho now working on the tour? Then I'm
working on my own tour.

Speaker 3 (48:14):
So I could see you and Rop when and I
doing a project together. Is that something you guys are
talking about?

Speaker 4 (48:19):
Because yeah, we got a bunch of music.

Speaker 3 (48:22):
Don't it feel good? I feel like it happened for
you a lot faster than it happened for other people too.
Don't it feel crazy?

Speaker 4 (48:28):
Like actually where I'm from, like Detroit having for me
a lot faster for sure.

YouTube channel Way Up with Ye And of course we'll
be back tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (49:57):
But you guys today have the last word.

Speaker 16 (50:00):
I was just trying to call it any time in
on the lady who fouled the condom in the car,
and a lot of times we tried to jump to
the situations, but I was in that same situation my
wife father a condom in the backseat of a Fromado.
Come to find out, my eleven year old son it
was his condom that he had. It was a pain
in the ass and just try to when it finally

(50:21):
came out and explain that to the wife.

Speaker 12 (50:23):
My scam story is my ex boyfriend scammed me out
of three thousand dollars. He borrowed money from me, and
he promised to pay me back, and he never paid
it back, and we end up going to court, and
so everything rude in my favor, and I have taken that,
you know, different measures to get my money back and
still having got me back. So I'm just speaking about it.

(50:44):
So he needs to pay up.

Speaker 6 (50:46):
My mom got scammed.

Speaker 12 (50:48):
They called her and told her I was in jail
and that I needed five hundred dollars, And of course
my mom didn't call me.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
She sent the five hundred dollars.

Speaker 14 (50:56):
And of course you've never seen it again, and that
game is.

Speaker 7 (51:00):
Still going on.

Speaker 1 (51:01):
So somebody calls you and says somebody's in jail, make
sure you call them first.

Speaker 6 (51:06):
Thanks Loving Way Up with Angela Yee
