Speaker 1 (00:06):
All right, it's way up at Angela. Yeah, I'm Angela.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
And and just to be clear, there's some technical issues
in our studio today, and I don't want to act
like it's not existing and pretend it's not happening. There's
something wrong. So we've been sitting here doing our part,
but I.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Don't know what happened. Do we have power?
Speaker 2 (00:26):
We don't know what's happening. And you know what's really
funny is like a lot of engineering.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Talk and I don't know what they're talking about, except.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
We're just like, is there power?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Like?
Speaker 4 (00:36):
And you know it makes me think that you know,
I wake up right, I'm like off right. I don't
charge my phone at night. I wake up my phone day.
It's crazy. I came in here with my phone, dad,
and usually I do.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Its just crazy.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
You know what I'm going to get you? You know,
the charges that you can put on the back of
the phone is a magnet.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yeah, and the phone you need.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
That so you can just have it on the phone
because you probably fall asleep, you know, having sexy talk.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
With with people.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Oh you know what? You probably don't.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
But.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yes, And I want to shout out to Shanola Hampton
who's going to be joining us today. She is on
the show Found. She's the producer and she's the star
of the show Found. It's on NBC and streaming on
Peacock and it just got renewed.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
For season two. So congratulations to her.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
But she really people knew her from the show Shameless's
she was on the show Shameless.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
How long was that show? Like twelve seasons? Right?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah? I like Shameless. I used to watch that a
little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, so she's on that show, but she's going to
be joining us today. She has a great spirit too,
so when you get a chance to hear her and
watch this show. The show is really about people who
are missing, but people who are missing from underserved communities.
So you know how normally you mean missing missing like
possibly kidnapped exactly, Okay, because.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
I remember it was a show called we Are you know,
are Missing, right, so you're talking about people that we
haven't found yet.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
It's a scripted show.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
It's scripted practice.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yes, So just to give you a little background, and
if you've seen the show, you know you'll understand, but
if you haven't, you may want to watch it. She
was kidnapped as a child and so and this is
just a show, is scripted, like I said, child, And
then later on she ends up starting an agency where
she's like a private investigator and she's helping to find
(02:28):
these people who have gone missing who you know how
sometimes it'll be like the little white girl goes missing, Yes,
we need to find her, but then there's also a
little black girl missing that gets no attention.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
I'm shine turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to
those who are doing greatness.
Speaker 6 (02:45):
Shine the light on them, Shine the light on them.
It's time to shine a light on them.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Well, what's epics?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Way? Ye put angela he. I'm angela He, and it
is time to shine a light. Eight hundred and two
nine two fifty one fifty is a number. And today
I'm going to shine a light on somebody really special.
This was finally announced. I feel like we knew about
this for quite some time, right Dan.
Speaker 6 (03:09):
We did.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
But Coach Jesse, and y'all know Coach Jesse from always
coming up here talking about detoxing, about your health, about fibroids,
anything that it is that you need to know. Coach
Jesse is my go to. She's helped so many people
I know in real life. Well, guess what her daughter,
Nia Thompson is going to be playing young Nala in
The Lion King on Broadway. That is such a huge deal.
(03:33):
They just shared this news yesterday. Now we can break
it to everybody. Authentic Nia. That's her Instagram page for
her daughter, such a talented young lady. That's also her
miracle baby that she talks about because she had her
own issues with fibroids and so for her to have
Nia on this planet in existence doing such big things
is just a tribute to who coach Jesse is. You know.
(03:56):
But I actually never saw the movie The Lion King,
but I did see The Lion King on Broadway previously.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Sure you'll be going again there, so we'll be going
again now.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
So shine a light on you, Nia Thamson into your
mama coach to Jesse. Now, Menda, who do you want
to shine a light on myself?
Speaker 7 (04:12):
I'm a girl that came from the streets and them
do a lot. Now I'm working hard and coming up
with my own businesses. Sixty camber you can rent from me.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
What's your business?
Speaker 7 (04:24):
It's three sixty camber photo booths.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
N Though, Okay, what city are you in?
Speaker 7 (04:32):
I'm in Brooklyn, New York.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
They saying you from Brooklyn. We're from Brooklyn.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
You know what we're about to do for you. We
want to make sure that you smell amazing at all times.
So we got some Born in Roma by Valentino for you. Okay,
We've got a nice fragrance so we can help celebrate
you as well for the holidays.
Speaker 7 (04:51):
Yeah, thank you, appreciating all.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Right, Menda, hold on the line, okay, okay, all right,
Well that was shining Light brought to you by Born
in Roma by Valentino. Beauty for her, for him, for them,
and you could win some too. So that's why I love.
It would be love to serve you guys and shine
a light on y'all. And when we come back, we
have yet and let's talk about Beyonce her renaissance film.
I will tell you what it's on track for and
(05:16):
we'll also give you some numbers from the wrap up
for the year as far as streaming. All right, it's
way up with Angela yee yeat is next way just
like the talk like they Angela ye like they Angela
yee man.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
She's spilling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Its way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela yeep, and
let's get into some yeat. So Renaissance a film by Beyonce.
It looks like they're on track to do over thirty
million dollars globally for that opening.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
That is such a huge deal.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Now it's the second movie ever to be distributed why
by an exhibitor, just as the Taylor Swift The Ariostour
did two hundred and fifty million dollars worldwide. That movie
is winding down, so now let's get ready for Renaissance.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Beyonce made so much money on this tour and now
she's going to continue to make money just by having
this and then imagine what's going to happen when it's
on streaming services after it's out of theaters. I mean,
we're all about it and Beyonce. Also, people are saying
that she's striking back at people who were calling her
a quote white woman for a picture of her at
the premiere for her Renaissance Concert film. She had long
(06:24):
blonde hair and address and people said her complexion appeared lighter. Well,
now she just posted a picture of herself so you
can see she still got her original skin color, and
that's what people were like, Okay, she doesn't respond to
the haters directly, but she's still Beyonce with her brown skin,
not Beyonce as a white woman, as people were trying
(06:45):
to say. And her mom, of course, Mss Tina Knowles,
got very fiercely defensive and called people bozos and stupid, ignorant,
hating racist statements that people were making about her. All right,
and speaking of Beyonce, jay Z are speculating that he
has a new album on the way, and that's all
because the Brooklyn Public Library is going to be auctioning
(07:06):
off a piece of his Book of Hove exhibit, and
that is a trophy case that highlights each of his albums.
It's going to come with his autograph and all proceeds
will benefit the Brooklyn Public Library. Now, I wonder how
much that's gonna end up going for and who's going
to end up being able to purchase that, But you know,
shout out to jay Z for that. Rock Nation and
(07:27):
Christie's introduced a limited edition jay Z Treasure from his
Book of Hove yesterday and it's in a black leather
case and it's again, like we said, personally, autographed. Now
let's talk about some of the top songs of the
year and some listening trends.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Twenty twenty three, Spotify.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Rapped that talks about how many people were listening to
what and streaming what so and the top ten artists globally.
Number one is Taylor Swift, followed by Bad Bunny, The Weekend,
Drake Pesel, Pluma, Bead, Travis Scott, Siza, Carol g and
Lana Delray. To admit a couple of those people I
do not know, but it is global, all right. Top
(08:04):
ten songs globally, by the way, Number one is Flowers
by Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Number two it's Scissus Kill Bill. What a huge song.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Lotto made the list all right because she has a
song seven that she's featured on by John Kook. Harry
Styles is on the list, of course. Teryla Swift is
up there, Creeping by Metro, Booming The Weekend and twenty
one Savage then Calmed Down by Rama and Selena Gomez
Shakira and Anti Hero by Terryla Swift.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
So shout out to everybody.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
You can look at all of those songs on Spotify
as they're talking about their top podcast globally also number
one the Joe Rogan Experience, followed by Call Her Daddy
By the Way, So shout out to everybody that made
it onto these lists.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
For the year now.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Just in the United States, the most streamed artists were
Terilla Swift, followed by Drake Morgan walland The Weekend Bad Bunny,
twenty one, Savage, Sissa, Zach Bryan, Kanye West, m Peso, Pluma,
and Sizza was one of the most stream songs. Kill
Bill in the United States at number two. All Right,
I'm Angela Yee and that is your yee tea. And
when we come back, we have about last night. That's
(09:08):
where we discussed what we did last night. Let me
tell you something. I worked after I left here and
then when I tell you, I passed out in my
sweats and woke up in the middle of the night.
I was exhausted. But I tell you what I was doing.
It's way up at Angela Yee. About last night is next?
Speaker 8 (09:23):
Yeah, last night?
Speaker 6 (09:25):
So about last night? Last night? Last night, Za, I
went down.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
What's up this way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Made us here.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Hey last night, you know when I left work yesterday,
I went to my other job because you know, I
am a realtor, I'm a salesperson, So I was doing
the market report for Sir Hance, So you guys will
see that today where I was reporting on what's going
on nationally but also locally in the real estate market.
And I was doing my holiday pictures with my team.
(09:58):
Shout out to Sarah Golan and her team over at
Sir Hand and then we went viral yesterday I see
tell Us a Secret. You know what's funny about tell
Us a Secret. Some people really think that segment.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
I had to explain that to somebody that the calls
are real. Yeah, real people really actually calling up. If
anybody is making something up, we wouldn't know.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
That's not enough listen and yeah, I saw DJ Paul
was like this was like, no, it's hot. We actually
went live a few times to show people what it's
like behind the scenes when we're taking to tell Us
a Secret. Cause the only thing we do have to
do is pre recording because we don't know what people
are going to say, it's right before so when we
(10:42):
say call us up for tell us a Secret. But
people love that you judge, you know, and your reactions.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
And the thing.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
The thing is like, I mean, I'm a real person,
so I mean I react in a real way.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
You know.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
You know what's good about the balance that we have
is that I feel like I am way less judgmental
than you aren't.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
And I feel like your judgment, your judgment.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Is light, like you throw it a little sarcastic, you
tell a god, yo, yeah, you should haggle for prices,
right for anything.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
That slow light judgment? Though it's not.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
I just want him to do better for him, like
I want him to get the most money he can get.
But the person who called in said that he ended
up performing oral sex for two hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
That don't sound like a lot of money, right.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
But he'd been doing that. He said that was his
first time.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
No, grown man, we'll wake up early in the morning
or one day and just decide to put his mouth
on the See.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Now, I want to say that I can't tell you
what a person would decide to do when I'm not
in that position.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
You know, so I might have never decided to do that,
But how do I.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
He's been doing that, he'd been doing that, you.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Know what I'm saying, You know, what we're going to
talk about this some more when we come back out
of about last night, that viral moment that we could
not have predicted, because I think a lot of viral.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Moments you can't.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
You gonna try for them and it just doesn't happen.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
It has to be organic. We didn't try for that, all.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Right, But we'll discuss that when we come back as
way up at Angela Yee. And if you haven't seen that,
you can go look on the way Up with ye
Instagram page and take a look.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Right now, all right, it's way up, Turn up you.
Speaker 6 (12:11):
Way up with Angela ye more.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Now all right, it's way up at Angela Yea. I'm
Angela Yee. And Mano is here. No, man, I just
had Meno going down a hall and.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Oaks, Yeah, and I'm best stuff.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Look disappointed that we had to turn it off.
Speaker 8 (12:26):
Man.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
We were listening to the Hall of Oaks because I'm
very upset that the two of them are really breaking.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Up like this.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
They're just breaking up.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Yeah, I mean they were on tour together, but then
they stopped going.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Together together since the sixties.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
I don't know how.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Maybe the seventies school for the break up. Now yes,
but listen, I want to talk about this moment that
went viral yesterday. First of all, may know, a lot
of people were like, mano is me his reaction to this?
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Uh, tell us a secret, is me? Let's hear a
little piece of that.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Oh my god, to do that?
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Talk to me about what? Like how you tell us
how this transpired?
Speaker 4 (13:08):
I found out my was doing it, so I tried
it and it was so basically your prostitute.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
No, it was the one time thing.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Was that your first time doing that? How much money
did you get?
Speaker 6 (13:20):
It was two hundred?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Did you barter it for that price?
Speaker 9 (13:23):
That?
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Did you come out with the two hundred? And he agreed.
I had to do what I had to do in
the future. Always negotiate, all right, that's a fact. Always negotiated.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
I feel like he could have gotten more, especially you
know what, people will pay more if it's your first time.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Out of control.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
First, and don't call up here talk any stupid stories. Man,
I can't control my mouth, like hello, crazy man?
Speaker 10 (13:45):
Can he?
Speaker 1 (13:46):
At least he gets paiper?
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Oh my god?
Speaker 6 (13:49):
That was pause?
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Wow, I just went out bed just now all right?
Speaker 7 (13:59):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Anyway, a lot of people, some people thought it wasn't real,
and I assure you I will put.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
That on everything.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
It is real. He really called the pands said what
he said.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
We had no idea that was gonna happen. We do
not stage these calls. Now, if somebody calls up in
lies that's.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
On that but that she can be yeah, then that
don't have nothing to do with it.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
You make that up?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Now he really about that life.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
I don't know who would.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Make up a story like that. But certain things, What
else have you done this? Because certain things that go
viral we can never predict that. I know people are
always trying to figure out, how can I have a
viral TikTok moment or how can I make this go viral?
What are some other things you've done that have gone
viral that you did not intend?
Speaker 6 (14:37):
Just?
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Oh wow.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
I remember one time when I came home to my
house and I was extremely drunk, and then my uh
my niece was at my house and she had some
peace and I said, I'm like, YO, heat it up
for me.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
She hate it up. I've been into it. It was
so hot, I had no shirt on. She was filming me.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
I felt it was you fell.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
I felt wow, it was bad it was really bad.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
I said, heat it up, don't put it on piping
hot though, Like it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Oh, let me see a viral.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
I remember one time we were in South Carolina and
we were drunk and Charlomagne was filming me and he
was yelling at me to get in the car and
then I said something about him bleaching and he put
that out.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
I wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
I was talking crazy because I was like, if I
say this, he's not going to post it. And he
did and that went viral and people still bring that up.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
His skin.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
He didn't really skin building.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
No, it was just a you got to see it.
I'll show it to you know.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
You could tell that you know you contrived it.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
I'm trying. All right.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Well, when we come back, we do have some yeete
for you, and I know this guy didn't want to
go viral. But let's talk about everything that's been happening
with Diddy, his security. It looks like his social media
page is gone, and we'll discuss it. But right now,
let's get into some neo. He's gone viral for a
lot of reasons misindependent of it.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
Angela's feeling that yet come and get the tea.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
It's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
I'm Angela Yee and Mana is here and it's time
for some yet now you know, I love me some.
Ari Lennox and she was up here the other day
and she was talking about her tour. I asked her
how to go on with rod Wave and here was
what her response was.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
It's hard. I'm opening up for young people. You know
what I realized.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
I think my music is a little too happy, and
I mean no shade.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
His is like different.
Speaker 9 (16:32):
So I think the people are just like, what the
hell is this happy on here?
Speaker 1 (16:38):
All right?
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Well yeah, and she was saying it as no shade,
but it was difficult for her. And I saw a
lot of people in my comments like yes, I went
to go see her there. The younger kids didn't know her,
you know, they were really yeah, And it's a it's
a different type of.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Vis a, different audiences. She probably speaking towards her the
reaction that she getting from, but.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
She said she did learn a lot from the experience.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Well, now she was performing and apparently a fan of
rod Waves threw something at her in the middle of
the show, a water bottle. Here's what happened when that
went down, and then it went on from there and
(17:20):
they actually cut her mic off because she was very upset.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
So that's disrespectful.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Like clearly Rod Wave picked her to be on a tour,
So if you're a fan of his, be respectful to
the show that he put together.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
You're seeing a lot of people get hit with stuff
on stage lately.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
Yes, more than imagine.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
You're paying to go see your artists, and there's people
I know who went to go see Ari Lennox, So
shout out to her for that.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
I hope that doesn't deter anything, but a.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Lot of people said it did seem like an odd
matchup for them to be on tour together, you know.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
All right, Now let's talk about Roger Bonds.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Now, not sure if this is his real new Instagram page,
but he is the security that is talking about Diddy
and things that he witnessed, says a refresher. Here's what
he said about Diddy in regards to Cassie.
Speaker 11 (18:04):
I was sick of you. I was sick of everything
that was going on around you. I was sick of
having to cover up everything that you did. Cassie spoke
on it. She said, yeah, I'm jumping between it. That
wasn't the only time. It was other times and it
was other.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
People, all right. So since then his page has been
taken down. Now I don't know if this new page
is really his, but it says did he got my
page taken down?
Speaker 1 (18:29):
And he's going to go live when he gets a
thousand and five.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
He's speaking on this now though, like he's the one.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
His name was in the paperwork that Cassie.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Follows, so that's why he's speaking on it.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
That's what triggered him, Yes, because she mentioned his name
and said that he was a witness.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
So he would have never spoke on this HATI I'm
not sure.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
His name is the one that was yeah, yeah, so
I mean maybe he wouldn't have, you know. But people
always say why didn't the women speak out? They were
so bad?
Speaker 3 (18:55):
This is different, right, But it's different than.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
We talking about didn't speak out.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
We're talking about men though.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
If I got a rite with another man, and if
either I'm gonna speak on it or I'm not.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
No, I feel you on that.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
But my point was that the woman that it happened to,
people are like, why didn't she speak out?
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Even the people who were around.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Who are men that witnessed it and you know, cried
with her and did all of that and none of
them said anything either, which is wild. So think about
how hard it was for her to even be able
to come forward and say what she said. All right,
well that is your Yet now you know, we do
have the way It Mix at the top of the hour. Plus,
the producer and the main star of Found, Sheanola Hampton,
(19:32):
is going to be joining us in good news today
that show did get renewed for season two. It's on
NBC and it's streaming on Peacock. All right, so she'll
be joining us today. But let's party right now.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
The way up mix. It's way up at Angela Yee.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
In the rooms from industry shade to all of gossip
out send Angela's spiling that.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Yet that's the way you put Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
I'm Angela YEEA maino is here, No man, no, I
know that's right, And let's get into some yet now
says it. Recently talked to Variety and she was talking
about her song Consideration allegedly being taken by Rihanna.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
And here's what she had to say.
Speaker 10 (20:08):
I was so like just frustrated, and I felt like,
I'll never have anything that's cool again. I'll never make
anything that's cool again. And that was so crazy and
so wrong because it was like the centerpiece to my
album at the time, and for her it was just
like part of her album. And I was like, please, no,
I had just goot a video for it, like I
was about to drive it like in a couple of days.
It was already done, like whatever the conversation and like
(20:30):
label wise, whatever was already.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Done, right. I don't so, I don't know how how
did that happen?
Speaker 12 (20:35):
Was it?
Speaker 13 (20:36):
Like?
Speaker 3 (20:36):
What? Did they just give it to her?
Speaker 1 (20:38):
I don't even understand.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Yeah, I mean it was a negotiation with the label,
and so I guess she ended up getting the song.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
And Rihanna so strong, she's like, oh listen, I want
that song.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yeah, nobody's saying no to that.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
I feel like, so that's not an easy thing to
have to come to terms with, but I guess she did.
And by the way, to share, you know, she has
a number one song right now on the Billboard charts.
Really yes, and that song is DJ Play a Christmas song.
It's the lead single from her first holiday album, Christmas Good.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Is that crazy? She's actually had.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
A number one, a new number one on Billboard Songs
Chart in each of the seven decades from the nineteen
sixties through the twenty twenties.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Yes, never Ova.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
You know where her first number one was.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
It was I Got You, Babe back in nineteen sixty five.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Got You nineteen sixty five.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Yes, so you know it's still happening, all right.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Devin Haney ahead of his fight for the Junior Welterweight
Championship on December ninth, he's going to be vacating his WBC,
WBAIBFN WBO belts that he earned at one hundred and
thirty five pounds. He said he did everything he could
at one thirty five. The biggest fight for me was
making that Javonte Davis fight, and his side showed no
interest in making the fight.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Outgrown the division.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
So now I make my quest to one to become
a two division champion.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
So yes, that fight is Did you want to bet
on that?
Speaker 3 (22:10):
No?
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Not yet, and I'm never before I'll figure it out.
I'm never betting you again. Why I got humiliated?
Speaker 1 (22:18):
No, you just betted wrong, that's all that.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
It was crazy. Then you try to get me beat up.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
How oh I forgot Yeah, no, I didn't try to
get you yeah, all right, all right, Well, speaking of
people going back and forth, apparently, uh, Carrie Hilson and
Tiera Marie are having some issues.
Speaker 9 (22:37):
Now.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Carrie Hilson was on the R and B Money podcast
and she was recounting a story as something that happened
to her, you know, previously back in the day. I
guess now I didn't realize that she was talking about
Tierra Marie, but everybody was was tagging Tierra Marie like
I guess, you know, knowing that she was talking about her.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
But it was a situation where.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I guess she felt like Tierra Marie was trying to
play her. She said she almost got into a fight
with Tierra Marie back in the day. She detailed the
time about a singer being disrespectful at her show, and
do you know how she described who she is.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
She said, she's pretty insignificant.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
How she noticed she was talking about her though.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
At this point, I mean, do we have the audio
for that? Yes, Okay, here's what Carry Hilson have to
say on the R and B Money podcast.
Speaker 9 (23:33):
When you're a performer, you know, we know how important
it is to give love to other performers, Yes, especially
when you happen to be sitting on the front row
at their show. I remember just this. I don't want
to be here energy. I don't know why I'm here.
She was with a gentleman, and I felt disrespected by that.
(23:53):
So when they came to my dressing room backstage, I
said something and we almost got to scrapping.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
All right, Well, Tierra Marie responded, She said, y'all, people
got to leave me alone. I don't bother anybody. Just
leave me to f alone. So now, Carrie, what's up?
You want to fight? Or do you not want to fight?
Because I'm gonna whoop y'all ass when I see you.
I'm sick of you people bothering me. You had a
whole different story when I was in your face. You're
a liar, b okay, So there's no question who it
is now. I guess you want to fight. By the way, though,
(24:21):
if somebody had some bad energy and they were in
the front row, she could have been having some issues
with her man that had nothing you know how your.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
I mean, when it comes to a woman, it could
be issued.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
With the wig or it could be the guy she
was with, because she was with a gentleman. Maybe they
were getting into it and sometimes that might throw your
energy off.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
What did she say she was doing?
Speaker 2 (24:38):
She just was in the front row, I guess, with
no energy and maybe your attitude. But she did still
come backstage after the show. You wouldn't do that if
you had an issue right with somebody, not at all?
Speaker 6 (24:49):
All.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Right, well that is your yee t And we do
have under the radar coming back. Those are the stories
that are not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under
the radar right now. Let's get into some little way
and this is a classic lollipop and uh yeah, let's
do it way up this in.
Speaker 5 (25:05):
The news that relates to you. These stories are flying
under the radar.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Let's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. Mano
is here right now. Yes, we ordered pizza.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
Yeah, and I'm on a diet, Like why would you
do this?
Speaker 2 (25:18):
Okay, well, you know, let's get into some under the
radar stories. Man, this just broke and arrest warrant has
been issued for a Buffalo billstar Von Miller. His pregnant
girlfriend accused him of assaulting her at their home in
Dallas yesterday. He's facing a third degree felony charge of
assaulting a pregnant person and they said as of this morning,
(25:39):
he had still not been arrested, and so they have
been made aware of this incident according to the bills.
They said, we are in the process of gathering more
information and we'll have no further comment at this point.
All right, now, holiday shappers as people are returning items
that were purchased during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
You know a lot of people did, they're online shopping.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Spreeze war, and then they're taking them back.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
No, retailers are telling some people you can just keep
items instead of returning them because it will cost more
to ship them back. So fifty nine percent of retailers
offer so called to returnless or keep it policies for
unwanted products. So I imagine, like you get something and
the milling, the shipping that would cost for you to
(26:23):
send it back is more than the product is worth.
And now they're paying for that shipping because they usually
give you a tag to send back.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
So now they're saying, you know, just keep it, yeah,
just keep it. So I mean it's a win win
situation for you if you got something.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
You doing that with clothes.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
I don't know about with clothes.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
But one photographer, Pamela Peters, got a refund for a
three hundred dollars portable air conditioner that blue hot air.
But she had to send the picture of the unit
with the power cord cut. So, in other words, certain things,
if they let you keep it, you have to also
show that it's not usable.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
So they wanted.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
They're not about a car. I don't know what this car.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
I don't think a car. They would tell you can
just keep it, all right.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
The most popular slang words that teens are saying.
Speaker 9 (27:10):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
They surveyed parents to find out what these words are,
and uh, you know. The number five word is cap
cap what teenagers are saying, Yeah, Number four is salty.
I think that's an old word.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
That is.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Number three is yeat? Yea yea, that's a newer word.
What does yeat mean?
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Do you know?
Speaker 2 (27:32):
According to uh, yeah, according to this story, what does
y yeat is? They said, much teugher to understand after
first hearing it. The word, which was added to the
dictionary in twenty twenty two, means to throw something forcefully.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I didn't know that, yea.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
The number two word is bet bet that's an old
school word, bet I bet.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
And number one is sus.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
That's old too, to DJ.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Suss one taking a list.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
All right, well, that is here under the radar, and
when we come back, we have asked yee. Eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty is the number any question.
I'm here, and my award winning advice giver who cannot
hide his emotions, he where's them on his sleeve? You
can see it all in his facial expression. Eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty call us up for
any advice. But in the meantime, let's hear rich baby
(28:23):
daddy hands on yr knees.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
It's way up this relationship for career advice.
Speaker 6 (28:27):
Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
This is ask ye what's up? Its way up with Angela. Ye,
I'm Angela Yee. And the award winning advice giver Mano
is here.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
That's right new mayno right new man, not the old one.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
And we do have an ask you, and today's a
special one because Jan has been asking for advice, producer.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
And yeah, and you.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Can come to me at any time you know that.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Right now, I'd rather ask Angela this one.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Really, we'll see what I got you.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
I can't may no help.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
It's involving my wedding. I'm good at that. Okay, let's
go listen, great, let's do it.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
Okay, what's your fust?
Speaker 8 (29:00):
So my question is my fiance and I are currently
planning this wedding and it is incredibly expensive. We booked
our venue, we got the number for the venue, and
it's just like it's flooring.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
It's crazy.
Speaker 8 (29:10):
So that being said, there's a bunch of other expenses
that are necessary, like the production team, so photo and video,
the florists, hair and makeup, and basically everything else that
you can think that needs to be added and included.
So our biggest issue at the moment is kind of
coming to a common ground on like what's a reasonable
budget for the extra things. We already put the deposit
(29:32):
down for the venue. That's that's that's done. So now
I'm kind of like trying to cut some corners on
the photography. I'm trying to cut some corners on the
floors photographers.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (29:43):
Right, So wedding though, because it is very different, Like
I know, a bunch of photographers. I know a bunch
of videographers. I know a bunch of people in the
event space. But the thing is is like when it
comes to a wedding, it's different. It's not just like
the video guy that we would have for lip service
or for way up.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
It's very different.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
Sorry, Anthony, No, it's no disrespect.
Speaker 8 (30:01):
They know and they wouldn't want to even take on
that type of responsibility because it's that it is very different.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
It's a much bigger scale.
Speaker 8 (30:06):
It's so the turnaround time for thousands of pictures is
you know, expected to be much quicker.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
All that.
Speaker 8 (30:11):
So that being said, my question to you is really
just coming to a common ground with read of my fiance.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
What's a good budget to stick with? How do I what?
Speaker 4 (30:22):
No, it's just like how do I already I'm already
in my mind helping you?
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Right now? I can call Haitian Bobby to do the photography.
Haitian Bobby. You know Haitian Bobby.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Is he professional?
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Absolutely? He come there? It beat you there.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
I would love to see his portfolio.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
I'd love to check out.
Speaker 8 (30:41):
But really, the really the biggest question is like coming
to a common ground my fiance when it comes to
talking about these budgeting I feel.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Like maybe you need a third party.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
And this is why when we had the budget needs
to appear for Wealth Wednesday, she talked about having an
expert and a lot of times your banks or there's
a lot of places that will help provide financial planning
for you.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
Because this is something that coming from you.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
You may either came in or she may be resistant
because it's you, you know, And so we can go
back and forth and argue on things. And I know
she's like myself. I like to splurge. She's right, and
she loves like we both love the extravagant stuff. What
I would do is have you guys sat down and
came up with the budget of what things to come.
Speaker 8 (31:20):
We have and we quickly realized that it wasn't even
realistic because how did you come up with it the
current I mean, you know, based on what our families
are going to be helping us with and based on.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
But like what things cost aside from achage.
Speaker 8 (31:33):
Oh well, I mean I can't say I'm out here,
you know, doing all the research. She is, so I
trust her when she says, like this is the ballpark
range for a videographer, This is the ballpark range for
a floor. So I trust her one hundred percent. It
has nothing to do with me not trusting her judgment
or her just like picking.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
The most expensive wedding planner.
Speaker 8 (31:49):
No, that's like fifteen thousand dollars.
Speaker 13 (31:51):
Rage.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Let me say one thing about that though.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Okay, when you use professionals, like how I have an
interior designer, they get a lot of discounts, so you
might say it costs this much, but you end.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Up getting it spending a lot less.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
It also makes sure that you're hiring the right people
because they've worked with them. And so if you ask me,
I would try to use somebody because you know, I
used to think like I can design my house myself. Well,
guess what, my interior design has been getting me amazing
discounts because they get trade discounts on a lot of things.
So they might have a trade discount on a florist,
a trade discount on a photographer, a trade discount on
(32:25):
you know, with a lot of different vendors. And they
also know all the tricks on how to save money,
and so those are things that you're not gonna know.
And somebody that's dedicated to making sure you get the
best deals possible. May be worth the splurge of that
because it'll save you money in the long run. I'm
going to refer a couple to you.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
All right, Well that was asking. And when we come back,
she Sheanola Hampton is going to be joining us. She
is from the series Found. She's the producer and the
main star Found, which, by the way, today got renewed
for a second season.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
It's way Up with Angela.
Speaker 6 (32:54):
Yee, we're about to do.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
This, yeah yeah, more Way Up with Angelae on now.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
All right, yeah, it's the way you put Angela.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
I'm Angelae and Shanola Hampton is here.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
We just had a whole conversation and she's like, wait,
we wasn't we roll over the houses?
Speaker 1 (33:11):
And I thought we were doing because you were so
good at conversation. Now that was you.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
You came in here like Ben, I'm in the room singing.
You made a theme song for me?
Speaker 1 (33:19):
Thank you?
Speaker 9 (33:19):
Way up?
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Oh god away?
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Yeah, all right, don't see us later when we start playing. Well,
let's talk about the show Found, because that's where we're
here for. And I actually did get to watch the
first eight episodes. Now clearly at the center of this
show because we keep on finding new things out about
your character. But Found is about making sure that people
(33:43):
who have gone missing are found right and sometimes communities, yes,
and underserved communities, And each episode definitely focuses on an
underserved community.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
It's not just children either, right as people of color.
Speaker 12 (33:56):
It is sex workers and the house indigenous, all those
stories that we have not seen on our TV screens
or in our media in real life. Those are the
people that we are looking to find because there has
been such a gap in the representation when someone goes
missing at the same time. Two people can go missing
the same week and only one person gets a lot
(34:18):
of the media attention or a hashtag, and everybody knows
the name in the face of that missing person, But
there's still another young lady, same age, different color, and
the media attention is not there. So this show really
tries to not only bring that to light, but also
says that every missing person deserves to be found. It's
such a good story. I think throughout in the procedural aspect,
(34:41):
this is the first time we've seen anybody looking for
this specifically.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Sheanela Hampton, the producer and star of the show Found
is here with Me, And that definitely plays out on
one of the episodes where there's the missing white girl,
which Guy willing. We always want children who are missing
to come home and get found, but they get so
much more attention. You get the Amber alerts, yep, and
then if a young black kid goes missing, you don't
get that same type of focus.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Sometimes they also.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
Feel like, oh that they ran away, ran away, Oh
they were a bad kid, and yeah.
Speaker 12 (35:11):
And I think that that's been such a misrepresentation of
so many communities, is that it's so easy to throw
away those someone who is unhoused or someone who is
a person of color. And that's what we want to do.
We want to change the face of the missing for everyone.
That's what this show is really about. And I think
that what we want to also always understand, and you
(35:33):
said it best be careful of, is we're not saying
don't look for them, we say look.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
For us too. It's for that, it's this and that.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
And you're also a producer on the series, So how
did that happen? Because this was brought to you as
like you'd be perfect for this role, right, did you
have to audition for it.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
Oh no, no, I don't audition anymore, thank lord.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
I played my tide.
Speaker 12 (35:56):
What happened was our showrunner and Kay Carrol, She and
I were meeting. I was meeting to go direct on
one of her other shows. She has three shows on
the air right now and apparently now I didn't know this.
Then she was texting as we were taking this meeting
saying I found my Gabby. So towards the end of
me she says to me, are you still acting? I said, yes, ma'am.
I still have to pay bills, so of course still acting.
(36:17):
And she said, I think I have a script for you.
So it all happened from a meeting that was about
something else. And one of the things that I knew
moving forward from doing Shameless for so long is I
was never going to be just an actor for hire again.
I wanted to put my thumb print and as a
producer and be part of the process as a boss,
and that was what I said was determined to do.
(36:39):
So anyone that wasn't going to accept that, and my
role wasn't going to be a place that I wanted
to partner with. And of course NK and great for
Lancey and the folks at NBC have been so good
and warned. But so that's why, and I'm a producer
on it, But not just to hyphenate. I think sometimes
people will hyphenate for hyphenating saying that. It's because if
I want, if I have something to say, I want
to be able to say it.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
All Right, Shanola Hampton is here and we have more
with her when we come back. We're gonna talk about
the show Found. By the way, it has been renewed
for us second season. So congratulations more with Shanola Hampton
when we come back.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
It's the way up put Angela Yee.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
Y'all more way up with Angela on now.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
What's up? It's the way you put Angela ye. I'm
Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
And Shanola Hampton you know her from Shameless, but she's
also the star and the producer of the show Found. Now.
I must say, it does seem like you're pretty pleasant
to work with, right, and that people.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Maria am I pleasant to work with, amen, But I
do think people don't understand the importance of that.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Also, you know, just because yes, even for who you
decide you want to work with, right, that we all
have options. But we get to to when you get
the chance to choose who you want to be around
or who you want to be on set with. That
does make a difference to with those types of relationships.
Speaker 12 (37:53):
Well yeah, and we've said it before, we leave with love.
I don't start. We have a no jerk policy. It's
a for real no jerk policy. And I don't start
the day, everyone will tell you, because we gotta We
get so caught up in our work that we forget
that the humans that are behind the job that we're doing.
Everybody went home to a family, everybody had a night.
(38:14):
So we don't start the day without me checking in
with everybody on a human level first. And now we
can get to work and we still make our day.
It takes no time to say, how you doing, how
to sleep, You're all right, how's the baby? I know
she was sick, loud, you know, having those human interactions first,
that's the kind of set the environment that we've created,
and we're a family there and that's how it should be.
(38:35):
And it doesn't matter the wee hours of the morning
or whatever.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Let's go, let's ride, let's get it, get some coffee. Yeah,
let's go. Because I always picture like in Hollywood when
you first got started. You know, sometimes you're taking jobs
and you may feel like this isn't the most pleasant experience,
but I gotta just, you know, keep because you're trying
to get somewhere.
Speaker 12 (38:56):
You know, Well, yeah, no, It's funny because I remember
some of the less pleasant experiences, and I remember looking
at the folks that were being for me. It felt
so ungrateful for the opportunity they had. You know, you
go on as a guest, Are you looking at these
series regulars? Are you looking at these people.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
That are the main leads? And you say that would
be all I would want?
Speaker 12 (39:14):
How are you not full of joy coming to work
every day and even just going to speak to like
people in the background and stuff. Everyone has such a
role in this, in this attitude of the for lack
of a better or don't look at me or talk
to me in between. It just was something that I
cannot grasp even to this day. It's about the human
being first and we're just doing a job. So why
(39:35):
do you have to like that?
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Chanela Hampton, the producer and star of the show Found,
is here with me even for you getting into character
Unfound because there are some dark elements to this show.
There have to be some episodes that were hard for
you to be able to film and have to take
a moment. And you have a son and a daughter
in real life. I do, so when you're doing a
show like this, does that ever like creep into your
(39:59):
never and as a mom you have to be thinking
like bringing that into the acting of like, Okay, you
know this is somebody's child.
Speaker 12 (40:08):
This is yeah, I do, but I try to. I'm
very separate and everybody has a different process. My process
is very because I am an impath by nature. I
just feel energy. That's just what I do. So for work,
in order for me to have the mental capacity to
just survive in the world.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
Work is very separate for me.
Speaker 12 (40:27):
Okay, when I tell you it's separate, they will tell
you you will go from me singing and dancing to
action and I'm gabby mostly and then.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
When there's armors all.
Speaker 12 (40:37):
If I'm doing a quiantine, I take the moment to
prepare for it, we do it, and then when it's over,
we're back getting it, getting it, getting it, getting it,
getting it, getting it because you got to release it.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
So with my children, I don't ever take work home.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Ever, I mean, I imagine that has to be something that
is like, you know, when people are watching this show,
because even when I'm watching it, there many time to
not be getting a little l Yeah, it is an
emotional thing to be able to watch. So being on
set that has to be emotional at times too, where
you got to take a.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
Breath of life. Yeah this was deep.
Speaker 12 (41:06):
Yeah yeah, And I think that that and then you
want to pay You want to make sure that you
are honoring those who have gone through any sort of
tragedy or suffering. So you want to come from a
very real place. So it does get hard, especially when
you think about those people who are not being I
mean you look at Ohio right now, there's so many
children that are missing, and so you can't help but
(41:27):
to feel that just on a human level.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
