lending marketplace. He says it democratizes finance. Solo Funds Inc.
(02:25):
One million registered users. It's the largest black owned consumer
fintech company in the United States. And he said he
saw how hard it was for his mom to get
out of the trap, so he started this with his
best friend, Travis Holloway, and he said there always tended
to be a gap between when the bill was due
and when she was getting paid.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
It wasn't that it wasn't coming.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
It was a matter of, oh my god, the electricity
is going to be off on Wednesday and she doesn't
get paid until Friday. So it's a peer to peer
lending platform.

and one of them was born with a disability called
pure syndrome, and it has provided so many issues for
his wife. And she just she pushes through. She puts
a smile on her face every day, and she fights

every issue that comes her way. She just needs some
love and some light in her life.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Now let's get into some yet. I don't know if
that was some right there, but let's start with Alicia Keys.
Her plate Hell's kitchen. It was at it was off Broadways,
at the public Theater and now they have announced that
it's going to be on Broadway.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
That was the goal. Here's Alicia Keys.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
You're going to find a girl named Ali in her
seventeenth year and she really struggling. She's struggling with her independence,
she's struggling with her identities, she's struggling with who she is,
where she's going, what she's meant to do, and you
really feel for her. Ultimately, it's a love story between
a mother and a daughter, and that's kind of ultimately
where you get to.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
But it's a lot of struggles.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
This sounds familiar right for everybody?
Speaker 14 (05:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Everybody related?
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah, yeah, it's a basically loosely based on her life story. Now,
it was a sold out run October twenty fourth that started.
It goes through January fourteenth, and then the tickets, the
pre sale tickets for the Broadway play when it moves
to Broadway, is going to start on Friday. By the way,
we should go, Angela. We are definitely going, yeah, let's go. Yeah,
it's a musical, and so the Broadway performances are going
(05:49):
to start Thursday, March twenty eighth.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
All right, you want to go, everybody, Yes.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
I'm going the whole team. I'm pulling up.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
We all sat all right now, speaking of you know, performances.
Usher has just spind it to Nia Long's tweet. Nia
said that she her only regret this year is missing
Usher in Vegas. I was kind of feeling that way
too well. Usher responded and said, don't worry. I'll be
back in Vegas on February eleventh time for Valentine's Let
(06:16):
me ask.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
You something, mane.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Let's say you went on a date and you took
your lady to go see Usher in Vegas and he
bored her up there and started doing a little Usher ground.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
So good as Usher man, It's all right, you good
and get your fantasy there.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Looking No, I'm sorry, not knowing what to do with
yourself at all.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
I'm not like that.
Speaker 8 (06:36):
Go handle it nice, Go get your grind on, go
get your fun on.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
It's a show, okay, entertainment.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Hands on your knees and then she and you'll be okay.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
She opened her mouth.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Oh, let's move on.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Will I Am was on the High Performance podcast and
he talked about missing a huge investment opportunity.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
Here's what I couldn't see Airbnb. There was an opportunity.
I had to invest this before they launched.
Speaker 15 (07:06):
If you don't have conciers, if you don't have house
cleaning and room service, I don't know if this company
is going to take off. Because at that time I
was traveling around the world in the best hotels, getting
the best treatment, and I couldn't see Airbnb.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
I can understand that type of thinking.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
When you travel and when you go places, you want
to make sure you have housekeeping, you want to make
sure you have room service.
Speaker 13 (07:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (07:30):
It's easy to see things after it's already become a hit.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Yeah, and you're like, man, I should have been Yeah,
because it also I guess for people it can be
a more affordable option. And then sometimes there's been times
I've been on vacation and you have like the full
shebang where you rent a villa there.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
In there, and sometimes you're like, there's too many people
coming in.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Here, yeah, coming and going cleaning, yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Doing different things.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
And I don't know to prefer that though, Yeah, but
then you might be like trying to have sex in.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
The pool, right, talking in and out.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Yeah, when it's time to be you know, in the
d R, you know.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Nothing hate DR awful time all right, Well, that is
your yet.

Speaker 6 (08:20):
Were about to continue for the birthday.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
To anyway, so we're going to discuss what we did
last night. And we actually were all together, so that's different.
It's I know, we call them we FaceTime and where
you at Chelsea Hosts? All right, so about last night.
When we come back, it's way up at Angelay.
Speaker 9 (08:46):
So about last night last night?
Speaker 7 (08:50):
I went down.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
It's way up at Angela Ye. I'm Angela yee, and
I got the whole crew here. It's Jasmine's birthday. Tella's
in the building, Mayo's in the building. No man, And
we are doing about last night. We actually were all
together last night for Jasmine's birthday. Uh huh. And we
went to Chelsea House. We pulled up to Chelsea House.
What were we doing before?
Speaker 14 (09:12):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (09:13):
We had lips and service. Right, we have an episode
coming out.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Today, chill and I came straight off the plane to
lip service.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yes, yeah, geez, yes about it? My g okay?
Speaker 3 (09:24):
All right and yes, so we had a good episode.
Victor Thompson was on. He's from Nigeria. As y'all know,
he has a song Blessed with Gunna. He's in love
to Yeah, he's in love. His wife is actually his manager.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
We need to find that for Mano.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
See that's your problem this.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, and then if you get the right woman, she
could also be your manager.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
Yeah, that's that's.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
What could you imagine like being with somebody.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
And hold on, can you imagine managing?
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Oh my god, how would that going?
Speaker 5 (09:55):
Let's hear it.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
He I feel like Mano's very responsible, you know, he
shows up on then I.
Speaker 10 (10:01):
Feel like, has I just hear your conversation? Sometimes I
feel like you have unreal expectations.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
What because I tell people I need what I need now?
Speaker 4 (10:09):
May not be ready to slap somebody if they don't.
Speaker 13 (10:10):
You know.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
That's the old man the new man. Yeah, and so
I do want to say so. For your birthday, we
went to Chelsea House. We pulled up on Mano after
lip service. Chella and Jasmine fresh off the plane, we're
very hungry, did lip service and then went to Chelsea
House and ate and worked on the couch. Today is
your actual birthday. Yesterday I got you a gift.
Speaker 10 (10:32):
I have some beautiful Chanel earrings that Angela got me.
It's nice having rich friends.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
I can't pay my Morella.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Got me this. I want to wear. Sheella got me
this bad jack.
Speaker 10 (10:45):
Maybe I should just wear it nice? Okay, viby, Yes, viby.
It's viby and I have to wear my hair up
for it. And it's store. It's a bad fashion in
Chicago that it is beautiful.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
So now I gotta ask you this right expectations for
your birthday when it comes to relationships and who's supposed
to give even friends? Like, are your friends supposed to
get you a gift for your birthday? Okay, well give
them back? I like those earrings. If you're dating somebody,
are they supposed to give you.
Speaker 10 (11:19):
A gift when you're When you're dating somebody, they absolutely
are supposed to get your gifts. In terms of friends,
it depends on what the friendship is. Angela and I
give you such other gifts.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
You know what I'm saying. Now, I gotta get you
a nice gift for her birthday.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
Gift I got your free mail.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
That's it was used.
Speaker 10 (11:36):
It's halfway, it's used. You didn't tell us that it's
been a used bottle of nineteen forty.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
And grab the wrong bottle. I had two bottles. You
grab the wrong bottle.
Speaker 7 (11:51):
I grabbed you.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Got stolen nineteen.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
It wasn't even Angela, it wasn't even half full.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
First reps, Angela.
Speaker 8 (12:03):
Do you I can't believe you. But I took the
wrong bottle off the house. I don't know what happened, Angela,
I was rushing.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
The question is what are your expectations friends?
Speaker 3 (12:13):
And when you're dating somebody, what are those expectations? And
you have a child, but you're not with the baby
daddy with the baby daddy, is he supposed to get
you a gift from your daughter?
Speaker 4 (12:22):
Because I don't think he did. He did text me, text.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
But you know, when you have a kid with somebody,
should you get them apart.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
I've done that before.
Speaker 8 (12:34):
Okay, right, I've gotten but not a lot. I've done
it once or twice.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
It's the worst when you start dating somebody in their birthdays.
First you got to get them something, and then that's
gonna come.
Speaker 8 (12:47):
What point do you start getting gifts? Like what's the
what's the dating timeline? Like what if it's like a
couple of weeks, then what.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
My friend got me a gift? Yeah he did, A,
we're going to talk about it.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
We want to hear about your expectations for your birthday
when you're dating somebody and if you have an ex
with the child, are they supposed to get you a present?
Maino said he's done it a couple of times. Eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a number.
Let's talk birthdays and expectations. It's way up.
Speaker 7 (13:15):
Yeahs back at it. Bring the way up with Angela
Yee is on.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
And by the way, shout out to Punch from TD.
That was Sissy with Snooze and you know, Variety named
him the Executive.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Of the Year.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Ooh that big. That's a big deal.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
He manages Sizza and she had an incredible year. But
it's way up with Angela Yee And right now I
got Chella hair Jazz. Jasmine brand is here.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
I'm not just any brand on my own brand.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Maino no man.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
And we're talking about Jasmine's birthday right and birthday gift expectations.
Are you single or are you in a relationship.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
She's in a relationship, Angela.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Why would why I'm asking because I'm this is gonna
depend it on gifts and.
Speaker 10 (14:01):
A lot of people I am very uncomfortable right now. Okay, girl,
you're doing you say that.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Are on the radio.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
So my question is, when you're dating somebody and it's new,
what are the expectations when it comes to gifts.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Go out, go all out, show out, impress me?
Speaker 2 (14:21):
And do you do the same?
Speaker 16 (14:22):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (14:23):
I do.
Speaker 17 (14:23):
Okay, as long as we've been talking for at least
two three days, it's up, show out may but we'll
go to you.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
What are your expectations to three days?
Speaker 8 (14:33):
But if it's if I'm really excited and I really
I'm feeling a person, you know whatever, it's up.
Speaker 5 (14:39):
But I like gifts too, So let's make this a
two weeks.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Can someone get you? You have all thiss got everything? Yeah,
you got it all. You don't have a lot of money.
When I'm made, I got.
Speaker 17 (14:50):
To get creative, get song with your name, your picture
and great.
Speaker 5 (14:54):
That's that's nice.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
But MA said bring him somebody else home.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
That's always good.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
So what are your thoughts? It is your birthday today?
Speaker 4 (15:03):
What else?
Speaker 2 (15:04):
If you're dating somebody, what's your expectations?
Speaker 7 (15:06):
TV.
Speaker 10 (15:07):
I know I don't have expectations, but I like, I
like gifts and things, and I've got I got gifts
and things, and I got money and stuff money yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Okay, but I mean it's a that's a normal one hundred.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Dallas two hundred nok that was IM tell us a secret.
All right, Well let's see what you guys think. What
are your expectations?
Speaker 2 (15:29):
What's up? Erica?
Speaker 18 (15:31):
Hi, I was just calling in about the response for
the gifts.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Okay, yeah, what expectations do you have for your birthday?
Speaker 18 (15:38):
So for me, I don't have any expectations because expectations
your feelings hurt. But if you're someone that does have expectations,
I think if you've just met someone in your birthday
coming up, don't expect them to go all out.
Speaker 13 (15:51):
You know.
Speaker 18 (15:52):
I think a card and flowers is fine because you're
still getting to know them and they're still getting to
know you. So I think this gift depends on how
long you guys have been knowing each other. Your heart
is great, you know, you get to know them, yes,
and what their favorite story is bam, yeah, and go
(16:13):
on by your business, you know, like, don't think you
so complicated.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Thank you, Erica, It's just been greatful. They thought of
you right.
Speaker 18 (16:20):
Exactly because they didn't have to get you any means.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Okay, but I said they didn't think that much. If
it's like that, what I want to know.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
I want to know what's the day and timeline?
Speaker 8 (16:31):
Like is it Do you get a gift if you
meet somebody and it's been three weeks and their birthday.
Speaker 16 (16:35):
Hours hours go crazy and pressed?
Speaker 18 (16:39):
I mean three weeks, you know, like if you're taking
it seriously and they're taking it seriously, I mean, yeah,
I'll get you like a gift card, you know, little flowers,
you know, like I said.
Speaker 11 (16:47):
Keep it simple.
Speaker 18 (16:48):
It doesn't have to be all out.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
But what about one roads?
Speaker 18 (16:55):
Actually, I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
I'm a I'm a maybe maybe.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Okay, okay, perfuming night. All right, all right, well, thank you.
Speaker 18 (17:06):
You're welcome.
Speaker 12 (17:07):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Hey, d J, how are you?
Speaker 13 (17:11):
What's going on you?
Speaker 2 (17:12):
What's good?
Speaker 7 (17:12):
So?
Speaker 3 (17:12):
What are your expectations your birthday and you know, you
started dating somebody, what should happen?
Speaker 19 (17:18):
Yeah, I'm betting somebody right now. I honestly think that
when it comes to gift giving things like that, it's
really more about communication, like if you want it, like
let them know, like that's something that you value.
Speaker 10 (17:28):
Me.
Speaker 19 (17:29):
I'm not much of a I don't want gift.
Speaker 11 (17:31):
You know.
Speaker 19 (17:31):
That's more what she's into. So you know, I'm gonna
make that happy. I'm gonna do what I need to
do to keep her happy. But for me, I'm not
really much like. I only want it when I know
I want gifts.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
I want guess. Yeah, yeah, I want you want guess.
Speaker 19 (17:46):
I won't get man, I'm flat.
Speaker 8 (17:48):
With okays, best is the same place to god.
Speaker 12 (17:54):
I know you go to the Grill.
Speaker 18 (17:56):
I hear you.
Speaker 12 (17:56):
You're frequent the Grill.
Speaker 19 (17:57):

clients is one of the resident in DJ DJ Dangles
shut out there, Okay.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
I just saw Dangles. I was there on was it Saturday?
I was there Saturday and I was with him.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
We love the Grill, I do.
Speaker 19 (18:10):
Yeah, that's my age.
Speaker 13 (18:10):
Man.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
All right, well, thank you for colin see, and it
is good to communicate that, right if you're like, look,
I know we just started dating, but I do you
know my birthday is important? I want a gift, all right, Tella,
you would say that, I will say that hour.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
I would think that, but I wouldn't say it, and.
Speaker 16 (18:27):
You shouldn't know.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
But then you can't be that.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
I know, I know, but how do you say that
I want to.
Speaker 17 (18:32):
Get don't ever tell me you want to get My
birthday is a national house today, not.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
Going to get it?
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Oh wow, okay, all right, well that is I guess
say happy birthday, jazz Man, thank you. And when we
come back, we have yet let's talk about Gez and
Jeannie My. It felt like this was gonna be amicable,
but it's not anymore.
Speaker 2 (18:52):

Speaker 9 (18:54):

Speaker 2 (19:07):
May now and Jasmine brand.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
I'm not just a brand. I'm my own brand.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
And let's get into some Yet. Now, let's discuss Gezi
and Jeannie My. It really does suck that they're having
this back and forth. They are getting divorced, if you
guys would call it gz foul for divorce. And Geenie
Ma said that she was blindsided by that. She was
on with Jennifer Hudson and here's what she said.
Speaker 14 (19:31):
I think I'm doing better now, you know. I think
at the time when I found out, you know, at
the same time as the rest of the world, that
my marriage was ending a divorce, I was gutted. Today
it's about picking up the pieces. It's about discovering me
and being a mom to the best blessing in my life.
Even though this year I met the most broken version
of me, I also met the strongest version of love.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
As over here laughing Angela, Yeah, why is that?
Speaker 5 (19:59):
It was the gutted.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
That's a hard baby.
Speaker 8 (20:04):
Okay, all right, you guys right, I'm wrong, Okay, all right,
thank you, right, it was just a gutty for me.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Okay, Well, anyway, according to TMZ, sources close to Gez
are saying that he isn't feeling that she's telling the
world that she was blindsided. He says they went to
multiple counselors to try to fix their marriage, but literally
none of them worked, and after trying and trying, he
decided they were marriage was irretrievably broken. So he felt
(20:32):
like the signs were always there that divorce was near.
So he didn't understand why she said she wasn't aware.
But I also feel like if you didn't explicitly say
it's over.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
I'm filing for divorce.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
And then the world finds out because maybe you're thinking, Okay,
we're gonna work on this, you've gone to counseling, let
me just take a break. Maybe we're just going to separate,
and you know, you don't know what that conversation was like.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
So no matter what, it's not easy on either part.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Yeah, and yeah, so being respectful man, because one day
you're going to get married, right, yeah, excuse and one
day you're going to get divorce.
Speaker 7 (21:08):
Yes, all right.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Now another couple.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
People are saying have issues, yes, issues, cardibing offset They
have unfollowed each other, and she posted on social media,
you know when you just outgrow relationships. I'm tired of
protecting people's feelings. I got to put myself first. And
then she went on social media and said this.
Speaker 20 (21:34):
Career wise, financially and personal life. I know where I
want to be at next year. You got to get
rid of that weight. And when it comes to that weight,
I'll say mentality and people because a lot of people
are dead weight too. And sometimes you know, I feel
like as a Libra, when it comes to people, we
always want to protect their feelings. We always want to
protect your image, like.
Speaker 16 (21:54):
How will they feel?
Speaker 20 (21:56):
Oh, how life without me will be for them?
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Oh my god?
Speaker 16 (22:03):
Yeah, mental life.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
Huh, that's rid of the excess fat huh.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
All right, wait, we'll see what happens, because neither one
of them have said that, you know, they've broken up, and.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
Let them say that.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
The let's not act like when you un follow each other.
It does mean.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
Something like argument. Yeah, it don't mean.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
I'm just saying it means something.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Yeah, it definitely means something. But they've worked through many things.
Speaker 7 (22:31):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
And so we'll see what happens here.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
And Sharlee Ralph and her husband, Vincent Hughes are going
to be living together.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
They're moving in together. They've been married for almost twenty years.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
Nice together.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
They haven't lived together, you know, the different codes working,
so now they you know, she was seeing him every
two weeks and she said, when I see him, I'm
so happy to see him. And then when I'm leaving,
I'm so happy to leave because I know I'll be
back again.
Speaker 8 (22:56):
That was probably a very healthy relationship because they didn't
get tired of each other.
Speaker 16 (23:00):
They going to move together.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
It's going to be open, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
But they see each other every two weeks.
Speaker 8 (23:08):
It's spent almost twenty years. I said, good though, because
it wasn't. They wasn't living with each other every day,
up under each other, getting each other nerves.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
What is that?
Speaker 2 (23:17):
What you want?
Speaker 3 (23:18):
A relationship where you don't live each other. I'm just
asking because you've seem very bad.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
Yeah, I just like, I just never thought about that.
I like what that looks like. Okay, you know you
like the lost it.
Speaker 8 (23:28):
I like the fact that you get to miss the
person and you get to appreciate them right when you
up under somebody all the time.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
No for ten minutes, I'm like, oh my god, I
missed you all room. And when we come over.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
Here ready to Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Time for under the radar. These are the stories that
are not necessarily in the headlines. They are flying under
the radar. It's a way for the end of the
happy breakday.
Speaker 9 (23:52):
Jad news in the news that relates to you.
Speaker 7 (23:57):
These stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
It's way up with Angela. Yeah, I'm Angela yee, and
Maino's here, no man cells here and.
Speaker 4 (24:08):
Right age not just the O.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
These are all really late. I think we could skip
it now. Let's get into some under the radar stories.
First off, twenty three and meter they're saying that hackers
got access to their data of about six point nine
million people. Yes, the problem is now a lot of
people use significant information in order to get their DNA
(24:33):
testing done, and so hackers use credential stuffing to gain
access to some of the accounts. Then from there they
looked for customers who had enrolled in a program called
DNA Relatives, which loosens users privacy restrictions, and so they
were able to see profile information of about almost seven
million DNA Relatives users. That's about half of the fourteen
(24:56):
million people who enrolled in the program. Right, So they
don't expect their will be a major financial fallout. It's
just some information that people have about you. Have you
done anybody in here?
Speaker 4 (25:05):
Twenty three?
Speaker 13 (25:07):
No?
Speaker 4 (25:07):
I have not, but may know what about you?
Speaker 2 (25:09):
These videos maino's from what island are you from?
Speaker 17 (25:12):
Again?
Speaker 5 (25:14):
St?
Speaker 2 (25:14):
Thomas is St Thomas crist So he got the accent
all right.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Amazon and Student Universe are offering Prime student members a
deal twenty five dollars on select domestic flights to visit
their family and friends for the holidays.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
It's the first of it's.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Client type of promotion.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
It actually starts today, started today at nine am, and
it's until three a m. Eastern, all right. And that's
for travel between mid December and early January. Over three days,
there's going to be three thy twenty five dollars tickets available,
and there's going to be one thousand tickets that drop
each day, all right. And so for any of you students,
(25:52):
you may want to go ahead and get that. Yeah,
I'm always a student, Okay, alright, I'm student of the game.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
You got it, all right? And here is a.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Word that Oxford said is the number one word of
the year for twenty twenty three. Riz. Do y'all know
what riz means? Rizz? No, it's like swaggy, swaggy, all right.
So it means it's slaying for style, charm, or attractiveness.
So it's the ability to attract a romantic or sexual
(26:23):
partner like Jasmine, you have so much RIZ on your birthday.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Okay, what I'm saying, I like that.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
That sounds very very sexual.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Yeah, I mean it can be.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
But they said Ky Sinnett is actually the person that
kind of made that word very popular.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
The YouTuber ky sinat oh okay, okay, yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
So after yeah, they said, it became more widely used
after the actor Tom Holland was asked about his RIZ
his RIZ level in an interview with BuzzFeed, and he said,
I have no riz whatsoever, was his response to his boyfriend.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Right, kay, all right, so there you.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Go, all right.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
In other words, a swifty situationship and prompt those are
some popular words, and that is your under the radar.
You know, we got the way up mix at the
top of the hour. Plus we got somebody with a
ton of RIZ coming through. Sam Jay the comedian is
going to be joining us today. Can't wait for that.
It's also Jasmine's birthday and happy birthday to Lauren London.
It's her birthday today too. All right, It's way up
(27:22):
at Angela ye.
Speaker 9 (27:23):
It's relationship for Korea Advice. Angela's dropping facts, so you.
Speaker 7 (27:26):
Should you should know. This is ask what's up?
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Its way up at Angela yee, and it's time to
ask ye. I got the whole panel here, Tella h
Jasmine Brand and Mano are here and eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty is the number any question
you have. We are led by the award winning advice
giver Mainos.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
I'll give the grace advice.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
And Orenzo is on the line. What's that Renzo today?
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Heyay?
Speaker 7 (27:52):
What up?
Speaker 2 (27:53):
All right? So what is your question for asking ye birthday?
Speaker 12 (27:55):
First, I just want to tell you host happy birthday
because mons on Thursday.
Speaker 10 (27:58):
Thank you, happy early birth Okay birthday, thank you.
Speaker 12 (28:03):
So I've been listening to you for a long time.
Congratulations by the way, because I was listening to you
while you were on the Breakfast Club and everything like that,
and I love it. May I think, Mayo, I did
not know that you were just funny. I listened to
you guys than no problem. But right now I'm in
a career set of like logistics. But this isn't like
(28:27):
the career set for me, Like this is pretty much
just to make and as me, I went through the
military and this and everything like that, but I actually
want to leave this and more like into like public
relations and everything like that. And would you've been a journalist,
what steps would you tell someone who is still like
really green, really new to the whole to the field period?
Speaker 2 (28:48):
What type of pr do you want to do?
Speaker 12 (28:50):
I'm trying to think of the good word for it,
okay for exactly, but Jason Brand, Like what if I
found someone else who has a great design for like
jackets or something like that, and I bring it to
you and that way, like when the winter time comes
around again, now we got another line in the jackets
or anything like that. So something where I'm kind of
helping somebody else for the most part.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Something you want to have businesses.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
You want to help business owners get more pr for their.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
Brands, more awareness. Yes, marketing.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Okay, do you have any ideas for like clients that
you could get because I also feel like you have
to build your portfolio, and so in order to do that,
you need to like at least start working so that
you can say, I represent this person that person.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Here's what I've done.
Speaker 12 (29:33):
Okay, to think about it like that, because like the
little things that I do, it's been like a little
like small things, So like I just help people like
promote their parties or something like that.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Random.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
You got to just be more organized about it so
that you have a port so that you have like
something that you can show. Because I think as you're
trying to pitch to more clients, you need to be
able to first of all build relationships with the people
that you're going to need to get pressed from. So
if that means like reaching out, attending events, going to
different conferences so that you can network and meet people,
(30:04):
because pr is all about knowing people and being able
to pitch those people who you know.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
Right and making sure it's a good fit.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Yeah, and making sure that you can actually send things
that are interesting because it is also the way that
you present it right.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
And then I think the main thing for you is.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
To try to get a couple of clients and look,
it might be on a basis of you give them
a reduced price to start with, you, you know, a
monthly retainer for three months, and then show them what
it is that you can do. Because you are still
new at this, so this is something that you're building,
but you you know, you want to make sure that
you have a client base and something solid that you
can show people when you're trying to pitch to get
(30:38):
new clients.
Speaker 12 (30:39):
Would you also feel like it may be more like
locations because I feel like when I was in the
military and I was traveling, I was able to do
a whole lot more, put my hands on a lot
of different things. But once I got out and I
came back home.
Speaker 7 (30:51):
Where do you live?
Speaker 12 (30:52):
Where are you Jacksonsville, Florida?
Speaker 7 (30:54):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
I love Jacksonville. But you know you can always move around.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
I mean, look, are Basos happening in Miami coming up,
and you know that's a huge, huge event if it
means investing in going out there and meeting people and
networking and doing what you do. But I think the
main thing for you, because a lot of stuff does
get done virtually right now, you don't have to be
there yet. But I think the main thing is get
(31:17):
yourself a couple of clients who you can work with
that need the help.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Pitch to them. That way, you can also build up
your rolodex.
Speaker 12 (31:25):
Okay, well, thank you. I really appreciate you guys picking
at the time and give me the advice.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
All right, NDA, listen, build it up, come back to us.
We might need some pr Yeah.
Speaker 16 (31:33):
You never know, definite.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
I know that's right.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
All right, Well that was ask ye eight hundred nine fifty.
In case you couldn't get through, you can always leave
a message. And when we come back, Sam Jay is
going to be joining us comedian amazing.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
She has a special out right now. Salute me or
shoot me?
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Okay, very dramatic, but that is My girl is way
up at Angela Ye.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Sam Jay is next.
Speaker 7 (31:58):
This yo, way up with Angela on now what it is?
Speaker 2 (32:05):
What's up? It's way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela.
Speaker 13 (32:07):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
I'm talking fast because Sam Jay is here and she
has a flight to catch in New York.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Is crazy right now. Nica McLean is guest hosting.
Speaker 20 (32:14):
Hey what up y'all?
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Hear Sam?
Speaker 16 (32:16):
What's going on?
Speaker 6 (32:17):
So?
Speaker 3 (32:17):
First of all, we watched your whole special, Okay, so
I know there has to be some little people backlash,
you know.
Speaker 6 (32:24):
What you want to know? What's so crazy? I thought
it would be like crazy. I was like, oh, this
is gonna be one of those things where I'm not
going to be able to be on like Twitter for
a few days. But it hasn't really happened. Yeah, yeah,
it hasn't really happened. So I thought it was gonna
be a lot more backlash than actually came.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
I always feel like this jokes could be controversial, but
as long as they're clever, right then you can get away.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Make you think that that made you think, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
Yeah, I feel like I did a better time this
special of kind of tying the knots, you know what
I mean. I'm just better at comedy, so I feel
like Glass Special. I was saying some things and some
of it it was too open ended, and I feel
like this time I kind of like completed every thought
in a real way.
Speaker 16 (33:05):
That helped quiet down some of that noise.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
I like when I am not sure if I'm supposed
to laugh or not, Like when something's funny and you're like,
I don't know, but it's funny, So I guess I
just laughed. I hope nobody videos me laughing at something
and want to get in trouble.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
I was asking on Nikka before you got here.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
We were talking about because you had a whole thing
on estate planning, and I just did something on that
up here too, because I you know, the budget. Nissa
was up here and she was telling me I need
to put like my properties into a trust.
Speaker 16 (33:33):
And you haven't done any of that stuff yet.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
I have, no, I haven't. We just all here wall,
I know, because yeah, you just never know you're right. Well,
you know, I got to get it together, y'all. Oh,
I gotta get together real.
Speaker 6 (33:45):
You start like I'm forty one, bro, It's like anything
can happen.
Speaker 16 (33:49):
You can fall, bro, it's a rap. You fall right now.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Okay, y'all, it's.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Like I'm a fall.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
You fall the same bro.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
Now, I'm not gonna One of my friends in high
school actually just passed today from an aneurysm.
Speaker 6 (34:04):
See it's crazy. You gotta plan your stuff a way
to bring down the move Angela.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
But I'm sorry having a conversation because I feel bad
that I'm not an organ donor, and Onica is I am.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Yeah, I feel really bad to do that.
Speaker 6 (34:22):
Oh My mom passed away from lupus, but before that
she got a loan transplant. So it just felt like,
you know, someone can help my mom have a longer
life and more time with me.
Speaker 10 (34:30):
So just felt right, Okay, I'm gonna be an organ donor.
I don't want to go on the back.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
You're coming back, You come back, man, got no, just
think about that.
Speaker 10 (34:42):
I don't know what happens afterwards. What if I need
wherever we're going after this? They not, You're not gonna
need your heart that's dead.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
All right, Well, anyway, I'm here with Onnica McLean and
we're talking to comedians Sam Jay, you didn't get married yet, right,
you have a date?
Speaker 12 (35:04):
No?
Speaker 2 (35:05):
Every time I asked you this is come.
Speaker 16 (35:07):
On, bro, I don't come on man, come on. We're
having fun.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
She's happy.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
She mad happy.
Speaker 19 (35:19):
When I some.
Speaker 10 (35:20):
But it do sometimes look like y'all just finished arguing.
Sometimes always that's probably most likely. We were watching a
specially and you were talking about how you have to
consider her so much, and I was like, even last night,
Sam was like, it's cold, you stay here.
Speaker 17 (35:32):
She's like I could be cold, and I was like, no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
No, that's perfect. That's what the relationship should be. Like, yeah,
you know, you hold the door. I don't have to
do anything.
Speaker 16 (35:43):
That's not what it should be, but that's what it.
Speaker 13 (35:50):
Like.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
My boyfriend loves it. I realized this the other day.
Speaker 10 (35:53):
I handed him like six bags and I wasn't holding
anything crazy, and I.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Still was like and he was like, yo, I can't
you know?
Speaker 6 (36:00):
Oh, y'all does my fiance She'll like like, there'll be
a table right here, and she'll like hold this cup,
and I'm like, why there is a table?
Speaker 16 (36:08):
Why do on the table?
Speaker 10 (36:11):
It's like she just always wants to be in service
to her, But you kind of like it a little.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
Bit, Yeah, you like it.
Speaker 6 (36:17):
I like her crazy. She's like, you know, we know
each other long time. She's my kind of crazy.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
And she's an interior designer. Okay, So what's the house
like like.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
However she wants it like? Changing things?
Speaker 6 (36:32):
Yes, always changing things. There's a lot of the disco
balls and glitter.
Speaker 16 (36:36):
It's her. I got my office. That's why I get
to do my thing. That's it.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
That's where corner.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
I got my corner.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
All right.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
We are talking to Sam j comedian extraordinaire s Lumi
or shooting is out right now on Max. But you
know she also had an amazing run with pause of
Sam Jay, and I know she's got some things in
the works. We're gonna get it out of her when
we come back. It's way up with Adela yee.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Sam Jay is here, yeah, yea, more way up with
now what what's up? Way put Angela yee.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
I'm with Anika McLean, a comedian who is talking to
another comedian, Sam Jay. So where do you guys think
that you're gonna stay in New York like after the wedding?
Speaker 16 (37:18):
Or is this I don't know. I'm going back and forth.
I love New York.
Speaker 6 (37:22):
But it's like, I'm tired of paying taxes here, Bronna.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
I'm not gonna lie. That's very painful every time.
Speaker 16 (37:29):
I'm like, I'm Republican.
Speaker 13 (37:31):
At the end of.
Speaker 6 (37:33):
Every year, bro, when that tax shot come, like, I
don't know capitalism.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Now it is time. I'm not gonna lie. I be
thinking about the future like.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
It would be I feel like cheaper to buy a
place somewhere else and lives time.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
That's how I was thinking, because it's just especially because
I pay a lot of taxes and I don't, like
I don't have kids, know what, I don't know what
going to public school.
Speaker 16 (37:55):
I'm paying for this we're talking about.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
All right, So now what I know you have some
new shows in the works. Yeah, okay, so what are
you working on?
Speaker 6 (38:06):
Yes, kind of sort of give us that like a
little I got some stuff in development, you know, with
a few networks. You know, hopefully, you know, we'll see
something that was.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Very so bad. You're like, I ain't messing on my coin.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Well is it like something you ask, is it scripted
or is not scripted?
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Okay, I'm working on two scripted things.
Speaker 6 (38:29):
One that's like like you know, like network and then
one that's cable one that's kind of more autobiographical of
where I was, like I first came out in Atlanta
and kind of discovered my masculin centerself, and then the
other one is more based on kind of where I
am now.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Oh okay, I like that. I felt like Atlanta is
a good place to come out.
Speaker 16 (38:49):
Yeah, it was a great place to come.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Atlanta.
Speaker 16 (38:53):
You know, yeah, a lot of ladies.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
But how did you come out?
Speaker 16 (38:57):
I don't know that.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
I never like shat my family. I was like, hey,
I'm not like that type of person. I just cut
my hair and started bringing girls around. I was like,
figure it out. And then that's when people are like
I always knew.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, people do that yeah all the time.
Speaker 6 (39:12):
And it's like kind of messed up because I didn't know.
And I'm like, y'all could have saved me a lot
of that. I've done something if you would have sat
me down and talked to you because I was unaware.
So everybody else will seeing this. You could have jumped
in at some point.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
I can tell you we're't good at it too.
Speaker 16 (39:24):
I was actually kind of good at it because I
lie about being.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Bad at it, where you described it.
Speaker 6 (39:28):
Actually, I know that's the acting. I know how to
do what I need to do. But I'm an overachiever
by nature. So actually it was pretty decent.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
But listen, Sandy does have to catch a flight. We
do want to make sure you get that because I
know Traffick is crazy.
Speaker 16 (39:43):
Yeah, I'm worried, trust me, I.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Know, but I need to go catch a flight and
come back. We love you and I cannot wait to
see you. And we did this again.
Speaker 16 (39:54):
I would love to come back.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Okay, thank you, thank you, Sam. All Right, good now,
because it's very exciting to me. I always see Santia
like when are you coming on the show? When are
you coming on the show. So I'm glad we finally
made it happen. I know we did the breakfast club,
but here is different.
Speaker 2 (40:06):

Speaker 5 (40:40):

Speaker 2 (40:41):

Speaker 3 (40:44):

Speaker 2 (40:48):
Really, God is a Capricorn.
Speaker 10 (40:50):
God is I know God had a birthday. That's like
Jesus had a birthday. But whatever, I'll continue.

where the wind blows him.

And you know we always love the whole Way Up
gang because you guys are part of the Way Up gang,
and as usual, you have the last word.
Speaker 18 (41:46):
I think for my birthday, just appreciation, a nice card
to thoughtful gift, nothing material to stick, and if you
do want to get me something, you could pay a
bill in my house that would help.
Speaker 21 (41:59):
My daughter is thirteen years old and she's been getting
in trouble at her school. A lot, long story short,
my mom whooped her her and her husband whooped her,
which is not her grandfather, and put it in so
now she has whips on her arms.
Speaker 13 (42:14):
And you know, she said it was blood.
Speaker 21 (42:17):
Or something splashed on the water or something like that,
and they whooped her in her sleep and then wake
her up. So I want to invite to ask you
what should I do about the situation.
Speaker 13 (42:26):
But yeah, I just wanted to say Learne on Juveline,
Happy birthday, juvemin with then just got from Philadelphia. I
