It's way up with angela Ye, angela Ye, and it's
time to shine a light. Today would have been really
even more special if Mena was here yet, but he'll
be here shortly. But of course I want to shine
a light on my guy, Germaino, my be my best
rapper friend. We've been friends for probably about I'm gonna
say sixteen years now and never had any issues except

(01:42):
that maybe sometimes he said things or interviews that he
shouldn't have said and then felt like, man, why did
I say that? But he has a new project out today,
Kob four. He's definitely the King of Brooklyn and you
guys will love it. Even from the intro, it's a
full song. He's got Jim Jones on here. They always
sound great together, got each other's back, The sty Babies
bab is on here, Connie gigs all of them, and

(02:04):
I just want to tell you it's a full like
fifteen songs, including that bonus track, so you guys got
to check it out. Violence is definitely the one that
makes me think that this is Maino as much as he.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Has a lot of growth. Uh, can we get our
violence drop? That will be silence? All right? Well he'll
be here shortly.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
But in the meantime, who do you guys want to
shine a light on? Eight hundred two nine fifty fifty Shabrina?

Speaker 6 (02:31):
I would love to shine a light on my beautiful daughter,
Commisha Stevens. She's a business owner in Birmingham, Alabama.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Okay, I was just there.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
Her business is The Queen Way with two Wines. She
is a flyn owner, she said. She also tells them,
but she's all about happy hair and maintaining and protecting
natural hair.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Okay, I'm all for that, because how convenient is that
that's your daughter? She'll be I love it all right. Well,
thank you so much for shine a light on her.
And what's her instagram for people to be able to
check out her business?

Speaker 6 (03:06):
Her instagram is The Queen Way all Together with two wid.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
The Queen Way with two Wives.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
And how about we give the Queen Way some Valentino
born in Roma perfume.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Would you like that?

Speaker 7 (03:19):
Oh yeah, she would love that.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
Thank you so much, and you are blessing. I mean,
I love this segment. I really appreciate that and I'm
pretty sure too.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Oh well, thank you.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Well, hold on the line, let me get that for it.
Let me get your address and we can.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Send that to you. Okay, thank you so much, of course.
Hold on all right.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Well that was Shine a Light brought to you by
Born in Aroma, by Valentino, Beauty for her, for him,
for them. And when we come back, we have your
yee tea and let's talk about getting in the best
shape of your life. That's what Rick Ross is doing.
Will tell you what he's training for is way up.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
They say in the rooms from industry shade to all
of us out.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Angela's feeling that eat, it's way up for Angela.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Ye, and look at who is here?

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Man Yeah, I have a friend that man O has
new man at today for real, kob before let's go.

Speaker 8 (04:14):
Out right now?

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Got up?

Speaker 8 (04:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
All day today? How I'm feeling. But let's get into
some yet.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Rick Ross is training. He is going to climb Mount Kilimanjar.
Know that's what you have to My best friend Santi
Gold actually did that before. And I remember her whole
training process of she had to like go on the
treadmill uphill with a backpack on. You got to get
used to the altitude, so you can't really breathe heavo.

(04:44):
It has to be heavy, yeah, because you have to
carry everything with you. Here's what he had to say.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I mentioned on the podcast last year we was climbing
to the top of Killing Man Jo. It's sufficient early
twenty twenty four is going down. I swam with my
watch and if I put up in one hour, the
helicopter Peter Force.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
All right, So he did this video while running alongside
his trainer.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Wow, it's no joke though.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
By the way, oh man, I don't even know it's
the tallest mountain in the world. To put that into perspective,
so shout out to him. Though that's definitely not easy
to I'll be nervous, all right. Diddy has hired a
high powered legal team to help him out. He has
sexual assault cases that he's dealing with right now, and Harpierre,

(05:34):
who was the former Bad Boy President, also is listed
as a defendant as well. So the only thing he
said so far in a statement is enough is enough.
For the last couple of weeks, I've sat silently and
west people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation
and my legacy. And so he is continuing to say
that the alleged victims are looking for a quick payday,

(05:54):
and he's saying that he's not doing any of the
awful things that are being alleged. Times just put out
another can I say, damning article yesterday. Ice Spice is
reacting to being the second most googled artist of twenty
twenty three. Sexy Read was the only other rapper in
the top ten of most googled artists. By the way,

(06:15):
she's right behind Ice Spice is right behind country singer
Jason Aldeen.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Is that he say his name?

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Okay, don't I should google him? Well, he's a country singer.
I'm not familiar. But anyway, she posted the article from
Complex and then she put nosey much so people definitely
were googling her to get some info.

Speaker 9 (06:35):
All right.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Fat Joe recently was a guest at the United Master's
Earned Your Leisure panel and shout out to earn your Leisure.
I saw Rashad yesterday at an event that I was at.
We'll talk about that in about last night. But he
said that he wants his daughter to be an accountant,
and even though his son is a rapper.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
He's not down with that. Here's what he said.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
I tell my thought all the time. She'd be like,
what you want me to be that, I'll be like
an accountant. And she's like, why, I said, I don't
want us to get robbed. No more, I don't want
you to get robbed because if I die, I'm leaving us.
You know, my son he trying to be a rapper.
He's I I said, listen, keep the money by a business.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Do not take the money I leave you to become
a rapper.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Who would you want your son to be a rapper?

Speaker 10 (07:22):
I didn't want to, but he raps. Okay, you know
as a rapper you want more, You want better for
your kids.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
But you're a rapper.

Speaker 8 (07:29):
Yeah, but it's like you don't you want them to
be better.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
It's a good platform to do other things too, because
that's not all you.

Speaker 8 (07:34):
Do, right, you know.

Speaker 10 (07:36):
But you want them to get into something a little
more more stable, you know, and not have to chase
this around wasting money.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
I think it's important for artists in general to be
multi faceter. You can't just you can't do one thing
all right, well, that is your yet and when we
come back. We have about last night, and I know
you had a time last night. But speaking of you
having a time last night, let's get into some new Mano.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Off the KOB four album.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
This is my guy right here, and you know, Mano,
this is the soft side he is in his soft
guy era.

Speaker 8 (08:09):
Yeah, I am for a part.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Of this album.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
I mean, you heard this song that we can't even
play this because it's so dirty.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
But I enjoyed that. Okay, that's a good way to
wake up.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
But in the meantime, here is Forgive Me by Mano
off that KOB four.

Speaker 11 (08:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
Yeah, last night, So about last night?

Speaker 6 (08:29):
Last night?

Speaker 5 (08:30):
Last night he went down.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
It's all about you today, Mano. It's way up with Angela.
Yee Mayno's in the building.

Speaker 10 (08:36):
Yeah, silence A.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Did you wake up or have you been up?

Speaker 8 (08:42):
I've been up. Maybe I slept for maybe about forty
five minutes.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
I heard it only your voice, all right, So tell
me about your night last night.

Speaker 10 (08:49):
Last night we had a listening party. Shout out to Restocked,
you know, for holding it down. Shout out to my
brother Jim Jones, Dave's Connie.

Speaker 8 (08:59):
Dimond, Lolo Brooke.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Okay, we like that but it came through, you know,
it was it was it was nice.

Speaker 8 (09:08):
How you feeling feeling good? Feeling good? Not in love
in the city.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Well, that's dope, And I know you're going to be
probably celebrating all weekend.

Speaker 8 (09:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (09:17):
We cake and balloons, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
We got we got you a cake before your favorite cake.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
We got you the ko before balloons in there.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Well.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
I was at a holiday party yesterday which was actually
it was it was really really great. First I went
to Mishanda. She had from her art leader. She had
an art curated show yesterday, and she's the person that
really helps me when it comes to purchasing art in
my home. Really she connects me with a lot of
these artists, and so I met a couple of the

(09:45):
artists there too, whose works I have purchased previously, and.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
So shout out to her.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
It was also sponsored by I Best Wines, which is
my friend Ingrid's wine company. And then I went to
the Mechisic and leg I can see Engineer's holiday party.
You know, Cheryl mckissack is somebody who we've interviewed before
when I was on the Breakfast Club. But I actually
hosted the gala for the National Association of Minority Contractors

(10:14):
and they had their holiday party. And she's an amazing person,
just like everything that she's managed to accomplish. She's the
president and CEO of the firm with more than thirty
years of experience in all phases of the construction industry.
And so when it comes to like redoing JFK Airport,
it's her firm they handle.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
She's a black woman.

Speaker 8 (10:35):
Somebody they just did LaGuardia.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Yeah, I don't let me see. I gotta see which
one she did. But you know, she's, like I said,
she does a lot of high profile projects like Columbia
University's Manhattanville campus. She's done the MTA, she's the MTA
independent Engineer. My mom works for the New York City
Transit Authority, so my mom knows who she is. So
she's like super excited when I hosted that gala because

(11:00):
my mom, everybody that's in that world is like.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
She's amazing.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Yeah, you know, so shout out to Shao mkissack into
everybody who was there last night.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
There's a lot of holiday parties going on right now.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Absolutely, it's a time so for you guys who are
having holiday parties, I heard had theirs. We missed it
because it was at twelve thirty.

Speaker 8 (11:18):
I like to make my rounds to the holiday parties.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Okay, we should crash some.

Speaker 8 (11:22):
Right, That's what I like to do.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
We should crash some holiday parties. But for everybody out
there who's listening, when y'all have your holiday parties, just
remember you do still have to go to work after that,
so just be careful because it's been some of the
embarrassing things that have happened in previous parties, for sure.
But in the meantime, maybe you have a secret you
want to tell us about a holiday party.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Tell us a secret.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Eight hundred two nine to fifty one fifty. It's a

Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is a number.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Mano is he a kob for.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
My BRF best friender friend? And it's time to tell
us a secret. You have a secret. You're eating cake
right now?

Speaker 8 (12:36):
Why would you say this?

Speaker 10 (12:38):

out here trying to battle ob City.

Speaker 4 (12:41):

allowed to judge?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
All right?

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty Hello anonymous, color,

Wait, your friend? Who is your brother's girlfriend?

Speaker 11 (13:05):

Speaker 8 (13:14):
Man? He woke up like why would you do that
though as a man?

Speaker 10 (13:19):
Or like as a man like like it's nine women
to everyone, man, right, something like that, and you, yeah.

Speaker 9 (13:25):
That supposed to happen like that. It was just supposed
to be like a one time joined and now we're
trying to sort.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
That out now, so you're trying to sort it out.
How what does that look like?

Speaker 9 (13:34):
Ko?

Speaker 4 (13:35):
So your brother knows, So what are y'all gonna do?
Like what do you what are your plans?

Speaker 9 (13:43):
I don't think we will probably keep it. It's most
likely just kind of just part ways and move on.
That's what I want to do.

Speaker 10 (13:52):
So you don't think that you're wrong for sleeping with
your your brother's girl though, like how you could have.

Speaker 9 (13:56):
Just I'm crazy yourself for doing that.

Speaker 3 (13:59):

up to the room and oh my.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Gosh, went up to the room and did it.

Speaker 8 (14:23):
All right, well you should be ashamed of yourself though, thank.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
You for calling.

Speaker 8 (14:26):
I know it's not cool, Yes.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
It's not, but menosky cool, it's bad, bad business man. Well,
thank you for calling, and good luck to you guys.
See how this turns out. It's like a movie hanging
Outamus calling.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
How are you?

Speaker 6 (14:43):
Oh the morning, I'm good.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
And Jessa heads up Mano's judging but for today only?

Speaker 6 (14:50):
Oh my god, you know anybody nobody but bad. Okay,

Speaker 7 (14:57):
I just think my daughter is the Sometimes the mornings
are such a struggle for her, like she's going to
sup with attitude.

Speaker 6 (15:06):

Speaker 7 (15:10):
And we're not.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Wait, your daughter is the biggest what.

Speaker 7 (15:15):
She has been asked? Sometimes?

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Well, you know, oh sometimes we probably love it.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
We probably all are though.

Speaker 7 (15:28):
It hurts a life. But she's sixty years old.

Speaker 6 (15:31):
She at that age where she just thinks, you know it.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
All, she got it all figured out, and.

Speaker 6 (15:35):
I just be trying to pull her as best as
I can.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Mother love her, but it just don't have.

Speaker 7 (15:40):
Sens And yeah, sometimes I just.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
Want to just Kara keep her right through the window.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
I might have I have a confession.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
My parents definitely thought that about me because I was
awful at that age.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
So I just want to put that out there. But
you know she'll g her out of it.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
I sure hope.

Speaker 3 (15:57):

definitely letting us know, and she gave an update on
what's going on with her documentary because my album was

(16:49):
not done when I was going to originally put it out.
I didn't want the documentary to come out without the music.
That would have made no sense to me. I mean now,
I would, of course some new stuff going on, you know,
in it, you know, to reflect the aftermath of In
Friday too and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
But yeah, it's done.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Ooh, that's gonna be a good h that's a good watch.

Speaker 8 (17:11):
Yeah, I'm interested in seeing it.

Speaker 3 (17:14):

Speaker 4 (17:14):
In addition, while she was there, she donated fifty thousand
dollars to Toys for Tots.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Amazing, all right, Nicki Minaj.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Also she was trending all yes, and she had like
multiple things happening all right. In addition to that, Kanye
West added Nicki Minaj and put a message that he
had sent to her. Hey, it's yea mag call you
about clearing new Body on the new album. Well, Nicki
Minaj has no intention on clearing ess song. Here's what
she had to say now regarding Kanye, that train has

(17:44):
left the station.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
No disrespect in anyway.

Speaker 12 (17:49):
I just put out a brand new album.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Well why would I put out a song that has
been out for three years? So that's her rejecting that
and I we were talking about this behind the scenes
in the room.

Speaker 10 (18:02):
Right, I can understand, right, I can understand that she
could just do another verse though form mm hmm, the
same song.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Yeah, it's it's you know, three years old. Now it's
been out. She's like, I'm not clearing yet. And he
could have did that back then. I feel like sometimes like.

Speaker 10 (18:16):
If you have a very for Clarence though he has
to you have to have like a date and all
that has to be you have to be dropping it soon.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Yeah, he should have put it out then.

Speaker 8 (18:25):
Oh yeah, you couldn't pull it out back then.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
All right, Well, Yay had some things to say and response.
Here's what he said.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I made that rewrite her first retimes for Monster.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
I supported her career.

young jock, buy you a drink.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
News. This in the news that relates to you. These
stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
It's the way you put angela ye, I'm angela ye,
and Mano is here. It's a kob four Friday album
is out now, all right, let's get into some under
the radar.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
This is about to be a huge story.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Uh, there is a video of Kanye surrounded by a
few dozen people. This happened this morning in Vegas and
it's about a ten minute explosion as he starts screaming
about Hitler, Yay, Jesus Christ, all kinds of things. He
also says that Zionist Jews own all the banks, hospitals,
and even private schools in LA and there were a

(20:39):
lot of people there.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
So here is some of what he said. It's our country, America,
just the ladies through so many times, we had the Indians,
more pilgrils.

Speaker 8 (20:55):
It's a Jewish just the same.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
It's the same, right.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
He also had some things to say about Northwest. He said,
my daughter ripped up the m F and couches in
the house to be able to be with me right now.
Other things that happened was one person in the room
challenged him and he threatened to have her tossed out
of the room.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Really, yes, here's some more. It's sixty million.

Speaker 5 (21:17):
US in America, sixty million Jews in the world.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Fifty percent of our death is abortion, twenty five percent
of US principle.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
But where we say, who make the hospitals?

Speaker 11 (21:26):
Though?

Speaker 4 (21:26):
This is where I'm trying to take it Jesus.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Christ Hitler, yay, third party sponsor that what.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
I don't know what's going on with him, but definitely
something's going on with him, and he does have this
project coming out. I don't know what's gonna end up happening,
because I think it's quite clear that he goes through
things and a lot of times.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
I don't know if it's a stress from it.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
I don't I don't know what's going on, to be honest,
like you know, saying things like that, we'll get you
canceled for sure. Again, there's people who really do not
mess with him period. There's a lot of brands that
have cut ties with him. But it also feels like
at times it's like a breakdown. So I don't know
how you handled it.

Speaker 8 (22:09):
I don't even know what he was trying to say
it or I'm confused.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
I don't know either, but I know he does not
like anybody to not agree or say anything that is
not in line with whatever it is that he's trying
to express. But I'm sure we'll get more information as
this keeps on unfolding from the people that because there
were a lot of people in that room and I
don't know who filmed it and put it out, but
like I said, imagine that though he's saying whatever he's saying,

(22:35):
going through what he's going through, and then someone that's
in the circle films it and then sends it to teams.

Speaker 10 (22:40):
That was supposed to have been a private rent. Yeah,
private rent breakdown?

Speaker 4 (22:45):
All right, family, Well that is your under the radar
and you know we got the way it mixed. At
the top of the hour, Plus, we have some special
guests joining us today, comedians Carl Pain and Ray de John.
You also know Carl Pain as cocker Rote from The
Cosby Show, as Cole from Martin. He's also on Young Dylan,
right and so all of those things that he has
going on right now.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
But he's also going to be performing in.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
Brooklyn tomorrow one show only at two seventy five Park
that's Ray Dejon's club.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
But they're going to be joining us later on. It's
way up. Put Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
Way's like the tout like they Angela Jean, like they
Angela Jee.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
Man She's spilling it all. This is yet way up.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
It's way Yu. Put Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee. And
Mano is here on.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Okay for Friday. Yeah, baby is out right now. I'm
going to talk about that in new music. But in
the meantime, let's do some yet. And when I tell
you this year is going out with a bang CARDI
b went on social media and added her husband because
that's her husband offset and she said, you b a

(23:50):
n you know what that stands for. And trust me,
I'm an effing take it there. And then she said,
m Effis will try you when you at you Lois
and your most vulnera horrible time you out here feeling yourself,
but trust me, the table's turn now. I'm not sure
what happened, but she also went live and live. It's
hard and heartbreaking to hear this because she sounds like

(24:12):
she is so ridiculously upset.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Here's what she said, Yo.

Speaker 13 (24:17):
This mom really likes to play games with me when
I'm by my most vulnerable time. And I've really been
spaying you. I really been spaying you.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
You've been feeling yourself, you.

Speaker 13 (24:26):
Z because of your jazz album, and you've really been
doing me dirty after so many years that I'm yes, no, no, no, no, wow.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
I don't know what happened, but she's never gone off
like this on him publicly, so I'm not sure what's
going on, but I am really hoping that she take.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
A moment yes to that point right there, right for yourself.

Speaker 8 (24:53):
I've heard those screams before in my life.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Forgive me, listen to forgive me, or forgiving Tell you
exactly how that feels when you hear that. But no, honestly,
like that's not easy to hear because I know he's
been trying to work through things with her in the past.
When we sat down up here and I interviewed off set,
he talked about how the Internet sometimes ruins his He
feels like people put out things that are false.

Speaker 13 (25:18):
You know.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
She recently said she's been single, and then there's been
all kinds of rumors about things that he's been doing.
But I guess it seems like it's really over this time.
I know they've broken up before, but we'll see if
they're able to work this through, you know. All right,
and Bet is developing an unscripted series about brothers behind

(25:39):
al Chapel's arrest, and that's going to be from fifty cent.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
And Pilgrim Media group, The Twins.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
It will serve as a companion to the award winning
podcast Surviving El Chapel The Twins Who Brought Down a
Drug Lord that was produced by Lionsgate Sound and g
Unit Audio, and they recently released a second season. So
BT is actually not a bad place to be, right
Yeah mm hmm. That's a good idea, though. Start things
off as a podcast and then turn it into a
real project.

Speaker 8 (26:07):
Now.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
BT original series have dominated the list of top cable
shows among Black audiences, and so Tyler Perry, when he
partnered with BET in twenty nineteen to create content, looks
like it's really working.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
All right. So Sister season six.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
Had almost a million average almost a million viewers this fall,
followed by the spin offics of Tema and then The
Oval also did extremely well. So according to Nielsen ratings,
both Sisters and The Oval ranked as number one and
number four on linear among Black audiences.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
The only non be ET series.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
On the list are Bravos Real Housewives of Atlanta and
MTV's Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. All right, well that
is your yet, and when we come back, it's a
new Music Friday, and I'm excited for this. A lot
of y'all woke up and shows violence today woke up
science and KOB four is out today and we're going
to talk about it and we'll tell you what else
is out.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
It's way up, but it's relationship career advice.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
This is ask what's up? Its way up with Angela. Yee,
I'm Angela. Yee man, it was here. Damn man, you
got another slice of cake?

Speaker 8 (27:09):
Why would you put me off there like that? You
celebrate k is out?

Speaker 3 (27:13):
All right, yeah, KOB four is out today.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
But let's get some advice questions because you are an
award winning advice giver. We'll have some cake to that.
All right, we have Brittany on the line. What's that Brittany? Hi,
hey girl, what's your question today?

Speaker 6 (27:27):
So my question is I've been not a relation ship
for about a year now and I need some tips
on how to kick back into the dating world get
to go out.

Speaker 12 (27:36):
Yeah, well, I need some tips.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
Because I'm a very afraid to go out and do
my thing that I'm ready to date. But do you
have any tips for me?

Speaker 3 (27:44):
What may know?

Speaker 8 (27:45):
It's simple, just get your girlfriend and a boyfriend.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Okay, no, oh my god.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
My advice would be to go out with friends. So
you can go out like in group settings, And I
feel like the easiest way to ease back in is
to kind of go back outside with no expectations of
anything happening.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Go out to have fun. Don't go out like.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
I gotta find a new man, I gotta go on
a date. Yeah, none of those things. Like, it's okay,
go places, go to some networking events, some after work events,
you know, not too much pressure, have a good time,
look cute, get yourself together.

Speaker 8 (28:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (28:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Confidence is very important too, because people can see when
you're confident. Sometimes it's not easy to even walk up
to somebody and have a conversation.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
Just practice little.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
Things like that and don't look at it and put
too much pressure on yourself.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
Just look at it is. I'm just out here meeting people.

Speaker 10 (28:38):
Yeah, come to Stafford room tonight. You probably likely to
find a boyfriend.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
It's a Stafford room.

Speaker 7 (28:44):
Oh you sound cute, Oh so much?

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Thank you all right, Brittany, Well, thank you for calling it.
Good luck.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
I feel like good things will come to you when
you put that good energy out there.

Speaker 8 (28:56):
Brittany, you can start in my DMS too.

Speaker 7 (28:58):
Oh my god, I'm gonna do that.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
We got to kick for you for me right now,
Mato love you, ye love you, Ye love you too,
Brittany Geesh knew meno.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
I guess not all right?

Speaker 4 (29:18):
Well that was ask ye eight hundred fifty just in
case you couldn't get through. And when we come back,
and Ray dejon is going to be joining us alongside
Carl Payne. You know him as Cocker Roads from the
Cosby Show, but of course as Cole from Martin and
he does stand up comedy.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
We'll discuss its way up, turn out you vibing?

Speaker 5 (29:36):
Way up with Angela Yee?

Speaker 1 (29:38):
More?

Speaker 3 (29:39):
Now what's up this?

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and my
good friend Ray Dejeon is here again.

Speaker 11 (29:45):
Angela.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Good to see you.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
And for the first time ever, Karl Anthony Payne the
second is.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
In the building, excited to be here.

Speaker 12 (29:52):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
And when I first launched this show, Ray Dejeon and
I had a great conversation because you also were opening
your club, you know, to seventy five Park in Brooklyn,
which I've been to a couple of times already, of
course and supported, and we had a discussion about just
the talent that you were bringing through and it's exciting
that you actually are going to have Carl Pain there.

Speaker 11 (30:12):
I'm always excited to have call. And you know, we
have a really good backstory how to speaking between him
and I.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Hell, he'll be able to share that for stand up comedy. Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
So what happened was we was in I was on
tour with a play and you know, Ray was one
of the promoters, and it was out just did a
long story short, the mics went out, so the person
who's supposed to come on stage was backstage fixing the mic,
and I can tell it was going to be a second.
I could hear the drama and I basically had to
improvise for like ten minutes.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
On stage with no mic.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
But no, no, my mic was the person coming on
their mic wasn't. So they were in the scene and
then Mike went out on the scene. Okay, so they
played it off like I'm gonna go to the bathroom
type thing, right to try to go get the mic
fixed and left on stage.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
Oh my gosh, right, and that's why that live there.

Speaker 12 (31:04):
There is no joke exactly, so.

Speaker 11 (31:06):
But there were no more lines because of world.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Yeah, so I basically improvised by myself for like ten
twelve minutes and.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
The audience had no idea.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
No, he knew, but the audience didn't know, right. And
so after the show he came up to me and
was like, Yo, that's that wasn't I was like yeah.
He was like, yeah, we need to talk.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
And then you guys have been cool that.

Speaker 11 (31:27):
I told him you need to do stand up. I said,
first of all, you already have a.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
Name, so that's how you got so Really, Ray Jean
is the person that encouraged you to start.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
You know, I had been dabbling in it, but on
some serious like getting into it seriously. Yeah, he was
kind of the one that pushed me over the edge.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Of Carl Pain is here, you know him as Cole
from Martin alongside Ray Dejon. I saw that you were
working on actually doing your special before the pandemic here.

Speaker 11 (31:54):
Yeah, yep.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
When it comes to working on that, like, is it
something I know next year maybe it's a year you're
going to really try to go to put it out.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Absolutely absolutely, Yeah, that's what I'm doing right now going
around the country, tightening up the material and getting ready
for the new year.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
We Welcome Home.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
I saw Sanny Hayston talked about you under view and
how you you guys went on a day and then
you just ghost to her and went out with her
friend or something like that.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Do you recall that incident?

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Listen, I've talked to a couple of people, because you know,
when I saw it, I was like, what it was like, Yeah,
I was there. I definitely don't remember it happening that way.
But my cousin was her roommate. I think she's in
some sort of book that she tried to write or something. Okay, yeah, right,
so my cousin was her roommate, which is how we met.
And I called my cousin. I was like, yo, what

(32:42):
my cousin was like, Yeah, Anthony, I was there too.
Not just not how I remember it, That's all I'm saying, Like,
I don't even know this person, the friend that never
happened as well as I wassering.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
I'm like, friend, guys always remember things differently than oh
you on that you went.

Speaker 12 (32:56):
To the woman's ad. Okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
No no no no no no no no no. I'm
just saying like, it's just not how I remember that all.
You know, so you didn't smash no, stop stop.

Speaker 12 (33:13):
It wasn't like there, It wasn't like that.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
That's all I'm saying. If you know, if that's how
she remembers it, you know, Okay, I remember this time,
and that's I'm just saying, like, you know, I think
people sometimes sensationalized things to make, you know, sell books
or whatever they do.

Speaker 12 (33:31):
I don't okay, it's like.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
You know, yeah, I can.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
I mean, like even the comment I heard in the
interview or read somewhere where she was like, yeah, we
saw each other recently, and I was like, when was.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
That cold blooded?

Speaker 12 (33:44):
Like I'm just I'm just being honest. I'm just like,
I'm like.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Okay, you know, you saw each other recently and I
looked like I regretted it.

Speaker 12 (33:54):
That's the thing that bothered me. I was like, whatever
you do that.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Look of regrets since your I don't know, that's not
gonna happen.

Speaker 12 (34:06):
That's not what's not gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
Yeah, all right, Ray Dejeon is here and Carl Pain
is here. We have more with them when we come
back on Way Up with Angela Yee, the Way Up
with Angela Yee more. Now what's up his Way Up
with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and Ray Dejon is
here with me. He's a comedian. He owns two seventy
five Park in Brooklyn. Also, Carl Payne is here, he'll

(34:31):
be performing there tomorrow. And you know, even just thinking
about Martin, you guys had the reunion and I remember
you guys were saying the only time everybody got together
was for Tommy's funeral prior to that. So after that
special last year, do you guys ever like still keep
in contact or was it just a one and.

Speaker 12 (34:49):
Yeah, the girls they're gonna always be girls. Yeah, you
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
So they still working together, hosting, We.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Run into each other at the mall. We always check
in on each other, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
How good did that feel?

Speaker 4 (35:01):
Like?

Speaker 3 (35:01):
What was that feeling like when you guys all were
together for that.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Very very weird It was surreal kind of you know,
because there was two days of shooting, so you know,
to see them again the next day, it was like
felt like going back to work again. I was like, Okay,
this is this is kind of weird, you know, and
then just having those moments because they built the set
and us being in those areas like oh, remember what happened.

Speaker 12 (35:23):
When we did this?

Speaker 3 (35:24):
Was it talk of doing more.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
In a different way, and that still might be happening. Actually,
so me and Martin we get together a lot more.

Speaker 8 (35:32):
Now.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
That's dope. I love that.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Yeah, yeah, So And I was at his house about
a month ago, you know what I'm saying, and we
talked about a couple of things.

Speaker 12 (35:40):
Timing is everything, too. You gotta understand.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Timing is everything, like could we have done a spin
off or or could we have done something sooner? Absolutely,
you know, but after a certain amount of time passes,
then you gotta change directions.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
Carl Pain is here, you know him as Cole from
Martin alongside Ray Dejon.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
And how personal do you get in your stand up?

Speaker 12 (36:01):
Here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
I think people appreciate that, right, because I think what's
personal to you is also universal for comedians too. I
talk about them too, and one of them is going
to be here at the show. So I don't know
if he knows about the new stuff.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
That I got heads up at all.

Speaker 12 (36:19):
Nah No, I just look at him and we're sitting
at dinner.

Speaker 11 (36:21):
I'll be like, you know what's great Angela about doing
personal stuff? Nobody could say you took it from somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Because we always hear people be like they jokes jokes.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
When I first started out, I definitely did. I definitely
did what. I didn't know what I was doing, kid
me I was doing, but I would tell the comedian
like I would tell him specifically, hey, you know, I'm
gonna take this right and they would laugh and then I'd.

Speaker 12 (36:48):
Be like, yo, I'll come back.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
And yet that killed in South Carolina soun And it's
crazy because Chris Spenser did that to me once.

Speaker 12 (36:55):
Hey Carl, Hey Carl, you're still doing that. I was like,
he was like, y'all, I just want to let.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
You know that child in Iowa and I was like,
I was like, and so now I have a rapport
with a lot of different comedians where we trade jokes,
like because if it's something new, like everybody has the
same experiences but told differently, right, And that's what happens.
And then you'll find yourself sometimes doing a show with
a comedian that you never heard of before who's had

(37:21):
the same experience as you, but if you don't know
him and you don't say, hey, stay away from this material,
and then he'll go on before you and do a
joke so close to yours that he wasn't paying attention.
You can't go out there and say the same joke
because he just.

Speaker 11 (37:37):
Did it, Which is why I told Carl, who do
you want to open?

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (37:41):
Yeah, yeah, you know.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
I I was feat everybody's like funny cat out of
Atlanta named Rob Menger.

Speaker 11 (37:48):
And he's going to be at two seventy five Park
on Saturday, Decemmer Sleepermo. We only have about forty seats
left for the show on Saturday is one show only,
so you can go to two seventy five parkbk dot
com to get your tickets.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
All right, Well, thank you so much Kyle Anthony Payne
for coming. Why would you think we'll be paying for
I don't know.

Speaker 12 (38:09):
You know, I don't usually do interviews.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
Really, I feel like I've seen you do a few.
But next time, now that I feel like you're talking
to look.

Speaker 5 (38:15):
Look look for.

Speaker 12 (38:16):
The dates are very far in between.

Speaker 11 (38:18):
Because we have this relationship with Angela. This is what
I like to do. We're gonna do an Angela Ye

Speaker 3 (38:51):

Speaker 2 (38:52):
This is dope and it's big, and this is big
for you as well, like you having your own platform
and I support that.

to black women.

Speaker 8 (39:46):
Thank you. You know, I felt like it was necessary.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Do you feel forgiven?

Speaker 8 (39:50):
I'm on my way.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
I'm a work in progress, all right? What would you
say is your favorite song on the album?

Speaker 3 (39:56):
That one?

Speaker 8 (39:56):
Okay, this is personal.

Speaker 10 (39:58):
I really feel like it came from the heart, and
I I just feel like it's needed, It's necessary.

Speaker 4 (40:02):
No, I do really appreciate that one. But you know,
I also like the woke up and shows violence. Yeah, yeah,
I like that. That's very maino ish, but it shows
your range.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
You can do.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
It's all like forgive me, but then you can also
wake up and choose violence and do things with random.

Speaker 8 (40:16):
Women in the song you Gotta Stop.

Speaker 4 (40:20):
But I also really like the intro. That was nice
and personal as well. Definitely, but you guys, make sure
you check out the full album. I know you're probably
going to be partying all weekend saving the city.

Speaker 10 (40:30):
You know, I'm throwing my cape on and I gotta
get out there and make sure the city is in touch.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
All right. And speaking of Cape, don't forget your cake,
all right.

Speaker 4 (40:38):
And this weekend, Carl Payne and Ray dejon if you
are in the New York City area, they are going
to be in Brooklyn. Carl Pain is doing one show only, okay,
so you guys can go check it out at two
seventy five Park. You know him as Cockcrows from The
Cosby Show. You also know him obviously as cole On Martin,
so make sure you go check that out. And I

(40:58):
think Ray Dejoon is giving away ten tickets courtesy away
up with you, so if you text him to the
number that he gave you can get a free ticket,
two free tickets. But in the meantime, you guys have
an absolutely amazing and safe weekend and I will see
y'all on Monday.

Speaker 3 (41:11):
You guys have the last word.

Speaker 14 (41:12):
At a Christmas party, I ended up sleeping with my
friend's sister who was actually was married and ten years
older than me, and she was drunk and very touchy,
and then you know, I told her, you know, you're
being a little extra touchy, very be careful before something
happened She's like, oh, I don't care. My husband doesn't
care anyway. Yes, it's done nothing in a long time regardless.
So yeah, we ended up going to the bathroom having

(41:34):
to quip.

Speaker 7 (41:35):
You my name is he and I want to shine
a light on me and my husband. We are doing
our thing. We are struggling and we do everything for everybody,
and we're still doing our thing, keeping God first, putting
them peas first, and loving each other. So I just
want to shine a light on my baby mister Frazil.
You know who he is when you hear this, So

(41:56):
he's so happy. I love you, babe.

Speaker 5 (41:59):
