including Nick who works here in the Navy, who wasn't invited.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
I didn't do invite anybody. It was a surprise. You
know how many people called me like, how come I
wasn't at your birthday?
Speaker 5 (00:42):
I'm just mad I wasn't there to surprise you, though.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
You got that right after me that I surprised you
surprise I'm here.
Speaker 5 (00:48):
I was really surprised.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Well, you weren't the only late one. So shout out
to everybody who makes it late to the surprise party.
When I pulled up, some of my friends were outside,
so it got spoiled immediately.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Past was in it outside.
Speaker 6 (01:00):
The person that sent me the invites told me to
get that nine. I got that nine, so I really
wasn't late. It was just that you.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
They didn't tell me that you was getting at the
same time.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Why would they do that.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
You told me to get that thirty.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Some of my friends are not the best organizers. I
just want to say that, but I appreciate. Thank you, Jasmine,
Thank you Jasmine. All Right, well again, I know I
feel like we're laid on a lot of things. One
thing we're not laid on, and we're watching this this
morning is Jonathan Majors is doing his first interview with
Lindsay Davis on Good Morning America at GMA three. It's
gonna be on, so we're seeing clips coming out and
(01:32):
so we're going to have We're on it, guys, so
you'll be able to hear what he has to say
for the first time about his conviction and his domestic
violence trial and how he does feel like he'll work again.
Of course, Kat Williams, there's a lot of activity from
kill a Cat, Kill a Cat, and so much going on,
but we're gonna get all into that in the meantime.
(01:52):
How we always start the show and start the week
and start the year, shine a light eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty call us up, Let us
know who you want to spread some and shine a
light on its way up.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
We turn your lights on y'all spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Shine the light on them, Shine the light on them.
It's time to shine a light on them.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
It's way up with Angela ye, Angela yee. My guy
Nano is here, Yes, indeed, and you know we love
to shine a light on people. By the way, your
light is shining bright with all that jewelry on today.
Well listen, today we're talking about how Jonathan Major's is
gonna be on gm A three, and Lindsay Davis interviewed him,
and I want to shine a light on her. She's
(02:37):
from ABC News and she does World News tonight, she
does Good Morning America, and she actually interviewed me when
my coffee shop right before it opened.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Coffee uplifts people.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
But she was so sweet and amazing, So I love
to see her doing things like this, getting these exclusives.
Sometimes things are controversial and people will have backlash for
you talking to certain people doing your job as a
journal But from what I've seen, she handled herself amazing
and she's definitely a professional and knows what she's doing,
So shout out to her. She went to NYU also,
by the way, in University of Virginia. All right, Well,
(03:11):
in the meantime, who do you guys want to shine
a light on? Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one
fifty is a number spreads and love, Clarissa, Who do
you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 7 (03:20):
I want to shine a line on my man, my man,
my man, or my man, my man, my husband, David.
I'm just so proud of him. I've known him for
like nineteen twenty years. We dated often, we got married
a couple of years ago. Nice, and his growth has
just been so beautiful. I've really watched him growing to
(03:40):
the man that I always knew he could be. And
he still has a long way to go, but I'm
just really proud of him. He's becoming a praying man.
Speaker 8 (03:47):
I'm just like all feeling so good.
Speaker 9 (03:51):
So yeah, I'm just really proud of him.
Speaker 8 (03:53):
I love him so much.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
My man, my man, my man.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
That's how we started off the year, celebrating our man,
and for everybody out there, celebrating your significant other if
you have one, all.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Right, well, when we come back, we do have your yet.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
And just as we discussed Jonathan Major's on Good Morning
America with My Girl, Lindsay Davis, and we have some
of those clips for you.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
It's way up, they.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Say in the rooms, from industry shade to all of
gossip out send Angela's speeling at ET.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
It's way up by Angela. Ye maynos in the building,
no matter. Yeah, And we've been following this whole story
very closely.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
Jonathan Majors.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Now, Jonathan Majors just did his first sit down interview
with Linday Davis for ABC News Live and it's on
Good Morning America.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
We saw that this morning.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
It's gonna be on gm A three What you Need
to Know, And then there's an extended version on ABC
News Lives Prime with Linday Davis in the evening. And
then they're doing a half hour special on Hulu on
January eleventh that will have even more unaired footage from
the video. He was found good you have two misdemeanor
accounts of harassment and assault, and not guilty on two
(05:03):
additional charges of intentional assault in the third degree and
aggravated harassment in the second degree. Now, of course you
saw when the cliffs were circulating, they was some backlash.
People thought that he was trying to get sympathy. They're
wondering why would he sit down and do this interview. Now,
until you see the full thing, it's hard to make
a judgment. But here's what he had to say on
his conviction.
Speaker 10 (05:23):
I was absolutely shocked and afraid. I'm standing there and
the verdict comes down, I say, how is that possible?
Speaker 11 (05:31):
Well, what's interesting about the jury's verdict. It's so nuanced
because they're saying you didn't intend to injure her, but
the result of your recklessness injured her.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Were you reckless?
Speaker 10 (05:44):
I was reckless with her heart, not with her body,
not with her body.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
It's not like something you was saying. Man, I'm not
I'm not gonna lie right.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
I was a line though.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
And this is about his ex girlfriend, Grace Jabari.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
This all happened last March, and here's what he had
to say about her injuries. She did have like a
broken finger, and we saw some injuries.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Here's what he said about that. What happened.
Speaker 10 (06:06):
She went to grab the phone, I held the phone,
I pulled the phone back. She came on top of me,
squeezed my face, slapped me.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
That's all I remember.
Speaker 11 (06:14):
So she ends up with a one inch cut behind
her ear fasceration. Yes, man, fractured finger. How did those
injuries come about?
Speaker 10 (06:22):
I wish the god I knew that would give clarity,
that would give me some type of peace about it.
Speaker 11 (06:26):
But you're confident you didn't.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
I have no question.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
And he is very adamant that he did not cause
these He doesn't know how they happened. And there is
footage you can see her chasing him right after the incident.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
We did see that.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
And then he talked about those remarks where she recorded
him saying that she needs to be more like Corretta
skoty kekeys her Coretta.
Speaker 10 (06:46):
I'm a great man, a great man, I am doing great.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Things, not just for me, but for my culture into
the world. That is actually the position I'm in.
Speaker 12 (06:57):
The woman that supports me should be a graded woman.
Speaker 10 (07:01):
It was me trying to give then analogy of what
it is I'm aspiring to be and trying to give
a reference point to that. One of the things I
also say is that I need her to make the
same sacrifices that I am making.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
Yeah, but then he called Meghan his kreta.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yeah, he knows me.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
Cored is how you're gonna have?
Speaker 8 (07:24):
You know?
Speaker 3 (07:24):
And I do when I also say when she asked
him if he felt like he would ever work in
Hollywood again, he does feel like he'll work again, right, Okay,
And so he did say that, And you know, it's
just interesting because I see in the comments a lot
of people are attacking him and they're like, that's what
you get for being with a white women.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
I see a lot of those people commenting on this.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
But regardless, it's an unfortunate situation all around.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
I'm just gonna take that line, though, I gotta use
that line.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Now you're gonna tell women to be your Coretta.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
No, I'm just gonna be like, I wasn't reckless with you, baby,
I was reckless with.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
Your heart, all right.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Well he's not lying about that. Well that is your yet.
And when we come back, we have about last night.
I feel like there were a lot of last nights
that we haven't discussed because so many things have happened.
But we want to hear, well, I want to hear
what you did last night.
Speaker 13 (08:13):
Mana.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
You've been outside as per usual, and I tell you
what I did, because I also did celebrate a birthday.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
On January third, you did. We shall discuss its way.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Up last night so about last night last night, last
night he went down it's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
I'm Angela Yee and Mayno's in the building right yes,
and we're doing about last night right now. That's where
we discussed things that we did last night.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
But we've been on.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Vacation for like two and a half weeks now, Mana,
does everybody know you're filming a show?
Speaker 6 (08:46):
Filming a show okay, loosely based on my life. Almost
finished the pilot. Okay, it's going to be a big thing.
We're gonna finish filming. Thursday is the last day, so
from tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Oh nice, I know.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
I cannot wait to see it all right, Well for me,
you know, my birthday was on January third, and so.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
You guys had a surprise, a little gathering.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
Yes, yes, it was a nice vibe.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
It was a nice vibe. We were at some year.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
So that's a French Caribbean restaurant and the owners also
owned Jasmin's, which is all I said in Manhattan and
I definitely so it was kind of a surprise. First
I went to dinner at ZZ Club. Then we left
there and I started realizing that something was happening. Because
I didn't go home. We got into uber and then
(09:40):
meex was like, oh, we're going. The driver was like
forty sixth Street, right, and it was like quiet, be quiet,
like I'm not so you thought you was going.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
It's for a drink, but I just didn't know where,
you know.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
And there was also a Knicks game that night that night,
by the way, and shout out to Kaisei. He was like,
do you want to go to the next game? But
I didn't go because of this, you know, this dinner.
And then we went out for drinks. And then when
I got there, parents who works with me were standing outside,
so I was like, okay, so the book. Yeah, that's
when I knew. And then I came inside and I
(10:12):
didn't know how many people would be there though, So
shout out to everybody who came out.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
To celebrate my birthday.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
I was also kind of like, I wish I would
have known, because I would have like looked nicer, got makeup.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
No, that's not a surprise, so when you walked in
there was like surprise.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Yeah, they were in the back behind a curtain, and
so there was a whole lot of my friends there.
The only thing is I do have a lot of friends,
so some of them didn't know. So people were like, oh,
you had a dinner and didn't invite me, and I
was like, no, that didn't happen. It was a surprise.
It's not my fault. But her showed up.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Which was amazing.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
I absolutely love her, So thank you Aunt for that
one too. And my girl Dahlia, a lot of my friends,
Melissa who owns the Grill, my friends from high school.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Some of them were there. So was it new May No,
of course was in the building.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Yeah, so I wanted to thank everybody for coming to celebrate.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
The other thing, yes, Jasmine came from DC.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
One thing I also want to say is that over
this break I got to watch a lot of TV
and watch a lot of movies, so that was nice.
I watched Salt Burn that was nominated for some Golden
Globes awards. I watched Bitcon what is it called Bitcon?
Speaker 13 (11:18):
Right?
Speaker 5 (11:18):
You told me about that?
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Yeah, that was a good documentary about this trio of
gentlemen from Miami who took advantage of cryptocurrency and the
whole free for all. So just a lot of things
that I got a chance to do. That was nice.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
I got to relax and chill all right. In the meantime,
I want to hear your secrets because I know it
was a holiday, and I know y'all got some secrets
going on, especially when it's like Christmas, New Year's, y'all
are trying to do things. But call us up, tell
us a secret. A lot of family time, a lot
of time with friends. People had some days off. I
(11:49):
don't know what y'all had going on, but everybody who
listens here, y'all be having some secrets on.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Y'all all write eight hundred.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
And two ninety two fifty one fifty. This is Maino's
favorite segment. He's not good to judge you one. Eight
hundred ninety two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Tell us a secret. It's way up, yup.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
This is a judgment. Freeze all, tell us a secret.
What's up?
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Its way up?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
With Angela yee, I'm Angela yee, and Mana is here alright,
ready for some secrets for the new Year for twenty
twenty four. All right, fresh slate, no judgment. We're gonna
clear your slate right now. Call us up and tell
us a secret. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. Hello,
anonymous caller, what's your secret?
Speaker 9 (12:29):
I am with my child's father.
Speaker 14 (12:33):
He cheated on me with this girl, so now I'm
messing with him just to.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Be back at with her.
Speaker 7 (12:38):
So you mess with him knowing that we wok together,
And I want you to know what to feel like.
I know, I want you to know what that tastes like.
Speaker 8 (12:45):
I'm going it back to you.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
But here's the thing. Does the woman know that you're
messing with him again?
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 15 (12:51):
How could you not know?
Speaker 4 (12:53):
So really, he's the only winner in all of this.
Speaker 6 (12:55):
He got both of you, unfortunately, So I just want
I just want her to know what.
Speaker 16 (13:00):
Feel like because you did that to me.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Why why are you mad at her and not him?
Speaker 16 (13:06):
I'm mad with him too, But she was nasty with it.
She sent me messages on Facebook.
Speaker 8 (13:11):
She was thirty with it.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
So I want you to know what it feels like, right,
you know what it feels like. You know, both of
y'all feel like. That's the thing.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
He's definitely winning in the scenario.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Yeah, come on, baby, get your revenge.
Speaker 16 (13:23):
Yeah whatever, but I get my.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Right.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
I feel like you might have some feelings though I do,
all right, Well, be careful babe. Okay, all right, okay,
there's no judgment here paying on him as color.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
How are you?
Speaker 8 (13:40):
How are you doing today?
Speaker 4 (13:42):
I'm good me and.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Man o ight here not to judge you, but just
to hear your secret.
Speaker 8 (13:46):
My birthday just pays.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
And I want to know what was gonna be some
of the twenty first okay, and I want you to
be send I want over twenty three thousands.
Speaker 8 (13:55):
But I didn't talk about for y'all. Pray.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
Why didn't you tell her?
Speaker 6 (13:59):
I would rep stay the money into if I tell her,
she's gonna dig into that to call and.
Speaker 5 (14:05):
Man, okay, you did the right thing, brother.
Speaker 8 (14:08):
I mean only your dollar real quick.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
But I'm going to buy herself there.
Speaker 8 (14:15):
Oh yeah, man cool. She always taking care of It's
just that she didn't know that. I want a couple
of hours, that's all.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
But you ain't getting You didn't disclose exactly how much. No,
I ain't.
Speaker 8 (14:24):
I didn't tell her how much I want to know.
I just I want you to be seen day by
at the night time.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
That's it. Okay, Yeah, you can leave it like that.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
I just want to ask you, what if she did
the same thing, would you feel a way about it?
Speaker 5 (14:38):
I'm just asking, laughing, like the evil.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
What if you found that out? I'm just curious.
Speaker 8 (14:44):
Well, you're right, I'm tail because I'm like, you're right,
You're right, You're right.
Speaker 16 (14:48):
Man.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
He like if she did that to me, I will
have a problem with that.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Okay, all right, but you.
Speaker 8 (14:53):
Don't want to got the money though, so I wouldn't
tell her.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
You might want to tell her and be like, you know,
I wasn't gonna tell you because you're not really good
with money.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
But how could I not? As we're building this life together.
Speaker 8 (15:05):
Say we go together for nineteen years though, let me
married in one day?
Speaker 5 (15:09):
One day?
Speaker 3 (15:10):
All right, Well, thank you for coming. All right, Well
that was tell us a secret. Y'all got some good secrets.
That guy was ready to just say, you know what,
I Am going to tell her and when we come back,
we have yet and the Golden Globes were last night.
Our good friend Joe Koy was hosting and definitely got
a lot of criticism.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
We'll discuss it its way out.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Yo, she's about to blow the lead about this pot.
Let's get it.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Angela's feeling that yeeze, come and get your tea.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
It's way up with Angela Yee, Angela Yee, and Mayno's
in the building Mane. Now I do want to say
I was watching the Golden Globes last night. I watched
that because, first of all, Joe Coy hosted, and he
actually sent me a video announcing that he was hosting.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
He was really excited about it. He discussed how excited
he was.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
But we discussed this on yet previously a lot of
people turned down the job of hosting. You know, Chris Rock,
Tina Fey, who else was it? I think Jerrod Carmichael
hosted last year. It's a tough room, a tough hosting job,
and some people might feel like maybe it's not worth
it because hosting an awar show was a comedian is
(16:16):
way different than doing a stand up special. Some of
those jokes don't hit, And for Joe Coy, he made
it very clear he did not have a lot of
time to prepare for this because they just announced it
a couple of weeks ago that he was hosting. All right,
so in the opening monologue, some of the jokes did
end up falling flat.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Listen to this.
Speaker 12 (16:34):
The key moment in Barbie is when she goes from
perfect beauty to bat breast cell you light and flat feet, ah,
or what casting directors call character actor.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
So I wrote some other people wrote Robert de.
Speaker 12 (16:46):
Niro's here Yo, I got the gig ten days ago.
You want a perfect monologue? Shut up, you got You're
kidding me, right, I wrote somebody these and they're the
ones you're laughing at.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
And he also did talk about Barbie and how it
was a move movie with big boobs and something like that.
So a lot of people took offense to things that
he had to say because Barbie the movie. I don't
know if you saw it. No, you didn't see it.
I know you have a daughter, That's why I was asking.
But it is about patriarchy and Ken the Kendall taken
over when she leaves to try to find out what's
(17:18):
wrong with her when her feet go flat, because you
know how Barbie has that high end step. But anyway,
it's a lot more than just a Barbie doll, right,
The whole point of it was supposed to be more
than that. As a matter of fact, on the red carpet,
Easter Ray, who was in the movie as well as
president of the Barbie's, had a really cute moment on
the red carpet to show you the kind of impact
this might have had for young girls him Barbie.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Yeah, y you all, y'all wanted to be the president
of Barbie.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Yeah, you could be here eagerly and it was really
that was so it just kind of shows you how
kids might have perceived this, you know, all right. In
addition to that, there was a moment where he made
joke about Terry Liss Swift and she did not crack
a smile. As a matter of fact, this moment went viral.
She was just sipping on her drink as he made
a joke.
Speaker 12 (18:08):
We came on after a football doubleheader. The big difference
between the Golden Globes and the NFL.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
On the Golden.
Speaker 12 (18:14):
Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
I swear sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
All right, And she just sat there looking at him
like all right whatever. But at any rate, I will say,
Joe Quoit stand up is really funny. I've gone to
see him perform in New York. He did get this
job on December eighteenth, And I mean, I understand it
was a dream situation, but maybe not without the proper preparation,
(18:42):
the best situation, but shout out to Joe Coy for
doing what he needed to do. All right, that is
your yee tee. And when we come back, we have
under the radar. These are the stories that are not necessarily.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
In the headlines.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
They're flying under the radar, but we definitely feel like
you need to know them. Sometimes they're quite funny. By
the way, it's way up with Angela Yee. Under the
race is next.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
It's in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
It's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Menos in the building point and let's get into some
of these under their radar stories. Now, there's a woman,
Daisy Link, who called her family Christmas Day to say
she's almost four months pregnant. This is unusual because she's
been in jail since June of twenty twenty two.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
Yeah, see, oos was going, you know.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
But the other thing that people are saying is that
it also is a jail that has both men and
women on different floors.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
So there's all kinds of rumors.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
But according to her sister, she's saying that her sister
when she was able to call us here and there
was trying to tell us pieces of the story, but
it's very scared to say anything over the phone because
their calls are being recorded. The allegations right now are
that it's another inmate, but she said the sister said
she doesn't have any additional information yet.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
Wow, I know that's crazy.
Speaker 8 (19:55):
Now.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
That sounds like that could be a potential lawsuit because
how did that happen?
Speaker 4 (20:00):
All right?
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Now, there's also right now a viral video that's been
going around. A Canadian company wants to take the stigma
out of discussing period pain, and they had a booth
at the Calgary Stampede exhibition where men get period crams
from a period pain simulator. All right, here's a TikTok
of what what that sounded like?
Speaker 7 (20:20):
Oh my god, that's a four.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
You're not even a standard period pain yet. Okay, I
would love for all of you guys to try this.
Speaker 5 (20:34):
I'll pass. I believe you.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Every month, women sometimes go through so much awful pain
from having cramps that I don't think people could understand
unless you're you're going through it yourself. So I thought
it was a great simulator. I feel like that should
be a prerequisite.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
To try this. Simulator. All right, well take that is
your under the radar now you know it's a Monday.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
So we got a party with that Way Up Mix
at the top of the hour. And I also want
to give a shout out Happy birthday. Shout out to
DJ will too. I know his birthday just passed. DJ Clue,
his birthday just passed. Angel Martinez his birthday is coming up,
So shout out to all my capricorns.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
We got the Way Up Mix.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
Its way up, just like the talk like they Angela Jane,
like they Angela Jane.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Man she's spilling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. And
Mano is.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
Here Mana yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
And we're going to talk about this later, but Mano
is in here freaking out over something which has been
in the headlines. And we'll discuss okay, but first let's
do some yet now. Ari Lennox went on Instagram Live
over the weekend and talked about being on tour with
Rod Wave and that she was never comfortable on stage.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
She actually when she was up here and Way Up
with Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
We did an interview where she discussed how the tour
wasn't going so well due to the audience because it
felt like they had a different type of audience and
they weren't there to see her.
Speaker 4 (21:59):
Here's what she said.
Speaker 5 (22:00):
I was never comfortable.
Speaker 14 (22:02):
I just remember every show just racing to get off stage.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
This is not my crowd. And that's all right. It
was tough, like it was tough.
Speaker 14 (22:11):
And it was heavy on my soul, like filling that energy.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Yeah, so she said it was a lot.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
She got her wardrobe stolen, and she said she was
very lonely while she was there. She said she was
on stage and people would have their screens up saying
next Really yeah, I mean it was crazy the things
that she had to go through. And then remember somebody
threw a bottle at her and it missed her. But
then that's when she really lost it, you know. So
(22:39):
first of all, commend her for even finishing that, because
I would have been like, you know what, this isn't
working out for me, this is not my audience. But
she did go through the whole thing, and she talked
about the treatment and she wanted to just basically race
off that stage, and I cannot blame her, but shout
out to Arie Lennox because I think she's a super talented,
amazing artist, beautiful voice, beautiful person. So we'll be supporting
(23:01):
her when she does her own thing, all right, Jay
Z and DiAngelo, in the meantime, have a ten minute
song together on the Book of Clarence movie soundtrack.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
You know, I used to work for D'Angelo.
Speaker 5 (23:10):
You work for everybody?
Speaker 4 (23:11):
Yeah, I did.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
I work with everybody.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
I did work for Dangelo for a period of time.
So nine minutes and thirty three seconds, I know. We
can't wait to hear that.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
All right.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Halle Belly and DDG have announced that they have a son, Halo.
She posted, even though we were a few days into
the new year, the greatest thing that twenty twenty three
could have done for me was bring me my son.
Welcome to the world, my Halo. The world is desperate
to know you. And here is what DDG had to say, Ally.
Speaker 17 (23:38):
Had a baby together. I want to chose no other
person in the world to have a child with me.
Learning she's a great mom. Before the baby come out,
are you a little scared? Then once he come out,
and then you take him home and it's like, damn,
he really here. But something just kick in you just
know what to do.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
So congratulations and I was like, they definitely were happy.
They kept it, even though people knew. They didn't announce
it till after the baby was born.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
All right.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Tiger Woods has announced that his partnership with the Nike
has ended. Over twenty seven years ago. I was fortunate
to start a partnership with one of the most iconic
brands in the world. The days since had been filled
with so many amazing moments and memories. If I started
naming them, I could go on forever. Phil Knight's passion
and vision bought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together,
and I want to personally thank him, he said. People
(24:28):
ask if there's another chapter. Yes, there will certainly be
another chapter. SeeU in La Tiger. Wow, that was a
long partnership. Honestly, he did a lot for them too,
and another partnership. Joey Badass has explained why he's leaving
raising Kanaan. Sorry if it's just parleable though, but here's
what he.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Had to say on TMZ.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
Yeah, I was very mad.
Speaker 16 (24:48):
I was upset, you know.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
Unfortunately I do have two careers that I'm balancing so
I had.
Speaker 15 (24:54):
To, you know, go on tour.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
We just kind of couldn't make it work no way.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
Yeah, they had to take out.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Unique all right, So sorry if that's a spoiler for y'all,
but I mean, come on, catch up and that is
your ee t now when we come back. Of course,
it's a Monday, so we got that Monday mayno mayno a.
And we also are going to get into some music.
Let's get into some Kenjack Lamar right now? How do
we feel about that? Kenjack Lamar and Drake with poetic justice.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
It's way.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Up with Angela ye more.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Now it's way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
And Mano is here right on time.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
We are both handling business today, okay, all right, and
part of handling business is a Monday mainnovation hesitation. Okay,
we put a little little dance hall field behind your
min of it.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
Is that the accident? Well your Caribbean, I am okay.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
So let's say happy New Year first and foremost.
Speaker 5 (25:54):
Monday's main ovation is d O D destroy All distractions
d A d oh.
Speaker 4 (26:02):
I was like, wait, that doesn't make sense.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
Come down is so comidate d A D destroy all distractions,
you understand, destroy all distractions. The things that don't add
value to your campaign. The things that don't are not
an asset to your soul and what you got going on,
you know, let's let's cut them off, let's leave them behind.
(26:27):
Let's celebrate our wins and learn from our losses, you know,
and let's just get focused. It's a new year, you know,
brand new energy. We got an opportunity to do it
all over again. They didn't think we was gonna make
it meex but we're still here.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
You know what this is kind of like the power
of no. My best friend Santi was telling me what
she's practicing, and she did.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
She actually did this last year.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
If she didn't automatically feel like saying yes to something,
she said no. So if it was not something that
she automatically when somebody asked her to do something and
she had to think about it and she wasn't sure,
just say no. And part of that is that no
can be a hard thing to tell people, but sometimes it.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Does give you a lot of peace.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Indeed, think about how many things you do that you
don't necessarily feel like.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Doing, or later on you're like, man, why I agree
to this. I don't like doing it.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
But you kind of just said no, yeah, And now
you're coming up with an excuse or a lie why
it can't happen Like aliens came and came down there.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
That's happening in real life.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
We'll talk about that later. In the meantime, that was
Monday May Innovation.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
When we come back, we have asked yee eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
If you need help, we're here for you.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
It's way up, whether it's relationship or career advice. Angela's
dropping facts. You should know. If this is ask gee,
what's up?
Speaker 4 (27:46):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
And of course my award winning advice giving best rapper
friend Meno is here with me.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Award winning and it's time for ask yee.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is the
number anything you want to ask us?
Speaker 4 (28:00):
We're here to help. Hey, bam, what's that? What's your
question for asking?
Speaker 14 (28:03):
You? So, as a podcaster coming from a small town
and you know, someone who doesn't have a large following,
can you give me some tips.
Speaker 9 (28:11):
Of how I can really, you know, launch my podcasts
and grow my business.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
So I would say you're in a small what town
are you in?
Speaker 9 (28:20):
I'm in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
All right, so a couple of things.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
And you're close to a lot of places too, so
you can actually if you need to, or somebody's traveling
and people come to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. What's the premise of
your podcast?
Speaker 9 (28:33):
Sex Love Relationship is cook Official?
Speaker 4 (28:37):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (28:37):
And what's great about that is those are universal topics.
It doesn't matter where you live. A lot of us
have the same themes and issues and things that we
want to talk about. Right, Yes, So first of all,
you're on here. You haven't even said the name of
it or how people could listen to it.
Speaker 14 (28:52):
I literally just got added to Apple Podcasts. I'm on Spotify.
I do video podcasting. I actually go.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
Live every Thursday just for quick thirty minutes on my Instagram.
Speaker 14 (29:04):
That is be Underscore Talk Underscore Official.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
And I think, like you said, you have videos. So
what would be good for you is.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
If you have topics or segments that you feel like
could potentially go viral. I would clip those, put them up,
send them out to the blogs, Just send them, send them.
You never know when something's going to pick up, because
a lot of times we see these podcasts, you know,
people posting things that end up going viral and getting
people attention, and just be consistent with doing that, and
also maybe try to offer your services to partner up
(29:35):
with some of these blogs, like the Jasmine Brand recently
posted that they're hiring for people.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
Who are writers.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
So there's just a lot of potential opportunities when it
comes to things like that and trying to pair up
and partner up with some of these blogs for content.
Speaker 9 (29:48):
Thank you so much for that. You're Oh my gosh,
you're amazing.
Speaker 7 (29:51):
Thank you.
Speaker 9 (29:52):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
All right, well, thank you for Colin. We appreciate you,
and I love to see the success that you've had
so far. But remember it is a marathon.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
And when we come back, we got to talk about
something that Mano has been going on and on on.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
About all day to day.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
He's talking about these alleged extra terrestrials. Yeah that we're
in Miami and Yammy's Bayside Marketplace on New Year's Day, Okay,
and the question is going to be, what is the
protocol when you come across some extraterrestrial some aliens.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
What are you gonna do?
Speaker 3 (30:25):
By the way, I did a deep dive and there
is an actual protocol.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
We'll discuss it.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
But I want to hear what you guys would do
if you came across some aliens. I feel like some
of y'all would be pulling your phones out trying to record.
Speaker 6 (30:35):
So you're going to go live doing that? Everybody's running.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
I feel like for MENO, it depends what they look like.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
All right, eight hundred two nine two fifty one to
fifty let us know what you think.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
It's way up.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
We're about this, yeah, y'all. I'm more way up with
Angela on now.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
All right, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Mano is here and we are talking about these aliens. Okay,
So just to be clear, in Miami, they were saying
that there were some aliens at Bayside Marketplace on New
Year's Day. It was also a heavy police presence. So
the rumor was, yeah, the police were there. Would you
have seen so many police if it wasn't for the aliens.
(31:15):
But according to the police department in Miami, they're saying
the heavy presence of police was because of a brawl
that broke out among a group of juveniles and they
were lighting loud fireworks and all kinds of issues, and
that there is no information as being with help from
the public aliens.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
I'm going with the aliens now.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
They said there were no aliens, no UFOs, no extra terrestrials,
no airports were closed, no power outages.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
But people are.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
Saying that that's not true.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
That's not true.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
And so you're one of those people when I say, people, now,
what are you going to do if there are aliens?
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Do you want to No?
Speaker 5 (31:53):
I want no.
Speaker 6 (31:54):
I don't know if it's safe to communicate with the aliens.
I want to be around when it happens, though, I
want to. We would like to be there, Okay, I
want to witness this. Now, would you pull out your
phone and try to like film a little something. If
I was walking through the if I was strolling through
the mall, If I was strolling through the mall and
ten foot aliens came, I would probably be running like
(32:15):
everybody else.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Oh my god, it's the ten foot aliens. Okay, so
you would have been running.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
Yeah, I wouldn't have thought about no phone.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
This is why no footage man, I'm glad there's no
footage of you running.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
I don't think I don't think.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
I don't think we will be saying that, okay, because
who's not going to be running away from But you know.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
What, sometimes running makes you a target, right, Like I've
learned that growing up.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
And according to aliens, though, you got.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
To like move behind something like everybody else run. No,
that's according to the hood, because they're gonna they're gonna
chase after you if you run. Everybody's running, and then
it's gonna look like you're the threat because you're running.
Speaker 5 (32:50):
Now, I'm not worried about that, because.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Maybe the best thing to do first to go up
and confront and just say, hey, how you doing.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
What's good? If you need anything.
Speaker 6 (32:57):
Quick idea, you do that now. I'll be behind this thing.
You go over there and do that, all right.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
And I also see that they are trying to.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Come up with a protocol in case this does end
up happening. So there's all kinds of proto, but the
protocol is there is no protocol. According to the government.
The current protocol is that you're supposed to defer to
what the United Nations or another governing body is telling
you to do.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
So they don't even know get out the way.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
But I want to know what you guys think you
would do in case you saw some aliens, because we
don't want to wait too it's too late and you
haven't thought about it. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty is and I'm gonna call us up. Let
us know what you do. Mana would be running. I
would probably try to engage or at least not run.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Maybe not more targets.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
So maybe the alien to honor you. You keep getting honored.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
Oh, that would be nice to give me off of
the alien some et, some coffee.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
Coffee uplifts people.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
All right, well, let's see what you guys think. Eight
hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is way up.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Y'all, more way up with Angela on now you know
what it is?
Speaker 4 (34:02):
What's up? His way up with Angela yee?
Speaker 3 (34:03):
I'm Angela yee, And Mano is here and all day
Mayna's been talking behind the scenes about these aliens that
were in Miami. He believes that they really were there. Okay,
you believe that it's a conspiracy. They're trying to cover
it up. The aliens are amongst us. They're ten foot aliens,
and so we want to know what would you do?
Speaker 4 (34:22):
Mano said he would run.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
Uh now, if you guys came across some aliens, what
is your plan? Eight hundred two nine fifty mela, what's up?
Speaker 5 (34:32):
What's up?
Speaker 13 (34:33):
Easy?
Speaker 8 (34:33):
Happy New Year? Happy belated?
Speaker 5 (34:35):
What's up?
Speaker 7 (34:35):
Man?
Speaker 5 (34:36):
What's that?
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Thank you?
Speaker 8 (34:38):
It's amazing. It is what it should be.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
What is the protocol if you run into some aliens?
Speaker 8 (34:42):
I feel like they got technology that's gonna make us
get us anyway. So I'm gonna try and be cool
with bro when you got access to and then I'm
gonna sell it to the hood.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
You feel me the hustler I was selling alien He's
right though, pacause.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
What you don't know if they're coming in peace, if
they're yeah, the.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
First thing you want to do, the first thing your
body's going to tell you to do, is get out
the way.
Speaker 8 (35:05):
Literally, fight will flate ion up by the way.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
What have I phone?
Speaker 8 (35:10):
I'm I'm gonna be that's my best friend. Like yo, Bro,
don't get you feel me?
Speaker 4 (35:14):
Are we prepared for this?
Speaker 5 (35:16):
No? No, we're not prepared for it.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
All right, So he's gonna try to befriend them. Thank you, mellow.
Speaker 8 (35:24):
Rich.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (35:25):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (35:26):
What are you going to do if the aliens come?
Speaker 8 (35:28):
When the aliens come, don't freak out? All of them
are evil?
Speaker 4 (35:33):
How do you know?
Speaker 5 (35:34):
He met one of them?
Speaker 8 (35:35):
I know we're aliens?
Speaker 5 (35:37):
Are you evil?
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Oh my gosh, Okay, guys, take him walk? Thank you Rich.
We're definitely not prepared with that. Hey, Jason, what's good?
Speaker 13 (35:55):
Angelo?
Speaker 10 (35:56):
Are you?
Speaker 13 (35:56):
Guys?
Speaker 4 (35:57):
How are you good? What are you gonna do if
the aliens come? What's your protocol?
Speaker 13 (36:03):
I'm gonna hopefully try to be frondom so that they
can spare me.
Speaker 5 (36:08):
I don't understand.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
So you're gonna do on their team?
Speaker 13 (36:16):
So you tell clearly the superior one.
Speaker 6 (36:18):
Right, So you're telling me that's gonna be your first
instinct is to just say.
Speaker 8 (36:22):
Hey, first instinct, what you gonna do?
Speaker 4 (36:25):
You're gonna tell on people I know about a body?
Speaker 5 (36:27):
Yeah, what you're gonna do? What what is your what
is how you gonna approach it?
Speaker 16 (36:31):
Like?
Speaker 13 (36:32):
I'm like, hey, so please don't murder me. But you
know I got a few a few people if they
want to.
Speaker 6 (36:41):
Like, oh, you're gonna be the first one to sell
us out. Yeah, you're gonna be the first one to
get Zach very tasty. Yeah, it's the people thinking like you.
It's crazy though, you sell us out.
Speaker 13 (36:58):
The men that you can be on you to joint
on you.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
Join Jay's take me with you. Okay, if it happens.
Speaker 5 (37:04):
Tell them I'm a part of the rebellion.
Speaker 4 (37:06):
You know, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
All right, well, I love the fact that our listeners
have morals.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
They ain't gonna morals they want to sell us out.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
You know what I learned though from this whole conversation.
There's no protocol, it's none.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
If these extra terrestrials come, none, we have no idea
what we're gonna do. And I also learned that a
lot of people will try to be from them.
Speaker 5 (37:26):
Yeah, that is crazy to me though, That's like, that's
nuts though, Like.
Speaker 6 (37:30):
You're just gonna sell us out, get us knocked off,
us probed.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
It made I feel like you'd be trying to get
knocked off depending on what they look like.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
They're like Laurie Harvey or something like that. Definitely, but if.
Speaker 7 (37:41):
They have.
Speaker 6 (37:43):
Hey, hey, don't threaten me with a good time.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
Okay, all right, Hey, well listen, you guys can always
still call any case you couldn't get through eight hundred
two nine two fifty fifties number.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
Because when we come back, y'all have The last word
is way up. Take up the.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Phone, tapping to get your voice heard. What the word
he is? The last word on way up with Angela Yee?
What's up?
Speaker 3 (38:11):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and
Mano is here and it's on Monday. We're back to work.
I feel like, you know, I'm excited.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
To be here. It felt rusty, no, but I'm good.
I was excited.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
There's so many things to talk about, but sometimes you
feel like, well, that happened last week and we were off.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
I don't want to bring up old things.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
You know, like kat Williams was such a big story,
but I feel like we weren't at work when everything
was happening. And we're seeing all the responses from Mike
Apps to Kevin Hart, to Tiffany Hattish to Shannon Sharp
responding about people being upset that he didn't ask follow
up questions. His response to that just so many more things.
I feel like tomorrow there'll be even more. So we'll
(38:50):
discuss it all right. But in the meantime, everybody else
who's back at work or has been back at where
the people went back today, we're excited to be rocking
with y'all. You know, I'm happy to be here. It's
nice to be at work. I missed you guys all right,
well as usual because I missed y'all and the show
was all about you. You have the last word eight
hundred and two nine two fifty one fifteen.
Speaker 16 (39:10):
If we were in baby with aliens, what would you do?
I'm boring my doors and I'm lowing all my guns,
all my family, important members supposed to come to my house.
We had talked about it. They coming to my house
and we low in everything, bring your food, bring your water.
Speaker 15 (39:28):
We ready right did run into aliens. I would welcome
them as they came. I'm not running away from it
because I've been excited about it. I would definitely say
welcome to the Earth. Show them this at the other
different of tourism.
Speaker 8 (39:39):
What would you like to learn on Earth?
Speaker 15 (39:41):
And tell us all about your planing and sit down
and have something to eat in this that the other
keep on doing what y'all doing.
Speaker 8 (39:45):
That was a great show today, great show take
Speaker 1 (39:48):
