Do we blame Kat Williams? He set it off. Everybody,
he set it off.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
And when I tell you this has been no stopping,
I mean stephen A Smith. You saw that holding back
he got. He told ESPN in advance, it's about to
go down.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
I gotta get at that. Jason Widlock got finally finally
said his name, eating them, as the kids say, it
was amazing.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
And even watching this whole dance hall.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Beef happen, you know, I love the dance hall beef.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
And I said, I have Elliott into it.

So we're going to talk about that.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
You got to declare a winner in the dancehall beef.
We did, Claire. It gets over yet it's not over.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yeah, you gotta wait till the till everything's settled down
because it's fresh, okay, right now, we don't know what's
about to happen, so it's too early, I think, to
declare who the winner is. But we do know there's
been a back and forth. So everybody listening, make sure
you catch up.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
It moves fast, man. Yes, these ladies are going at it.
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Go back and listen to all the songs, all the
dish tracks how it all started, and then we'll discuss that.
So yeah, it was Data that, then London Bed, then
dag y'all walking, dow.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Ya walking, and that's the one to me that got walking.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
I mean there was a lot of it was no
holding back, you know. It feels like there's no no
boundaries here. And on the bright side of things, Jid
is going to be joining us today. Yes, jd amazing.
He's been having a great twenty twenty four.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
We took over tiktokling a very organic way with that
surround sound record. Congrats to him. Man.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
All right, well let's get it started. Shine of light.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Let's spread some positivity before we get into everything today.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Eight hundred nine fifty is a number.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Call us LF let us know who you want to
shine a light on, and let's get into one of
Idiot Wilson's favorites, Nick.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
And yeah, turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to
those who are doing greatness the.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Light, shine the light on them.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
It's time to shine a.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
Light on them, all right.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
It is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee,
and my guy, Elliott Wilson is here.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Hi, Eddiot Wild, Hi Nikky.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
All right, and today let's shine a light on somebody
who I think is amazing.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
As a matter of fact, the day that.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
I announced that I was leaving the Breakfast Club, I
went to Martha's Vineyard and I actually love, actually moderated
a piano, a Q and A with her.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
And that is Regina Hall.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Oh wow.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
You saw she was in the news.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
She's going to be filming in a new movie with
Paul Thomas Anderson and Warner Brothers with Leonardo DiCaprio and
Sean Yes.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
And that saw what Gabrielle Union had to say about her.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
How even when she's not in the room, they talk
about how marketable she actually is. And when I was
sitting down with her, she was talking about her production
company that she had just launched, and was doing the
first film for so I love to see people getting
it like that. And she's just a nice person too,
Like if you ever run across Regina Hall, she's funny,
you know, super talented and very approachable, very sweet and
(03:22):
very nice. And we had a good time and it
was a great way for me to spend like my
first day having made my announcement with Regina Hall and seen.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
His stork times win historic times.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
She deserves it, all right, Who do you want to
shine a light on? Eight hundred ninety two fifty fifty
Who do you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 6 (03:37):
I would like to light on my ex fie.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
Oh that's aggressive, talk about it.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:44):
Last year was a hard year for us, so we
finalized our divorce, so I knew that it was going
to be a big change with me and my kids
and not waking up to them. I just wanted to
shawn a light on her for being an amazing mom
while you know, go through my ups and downs with
trying to work and stuff like that. It's been a
real tough year.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
So I just wanted to shann to len forget amaze
a long and you know.
Speaker 7 (04:07):
Not making it hard on me for seeing them. I
know it may be hard for her to take care.
Speaker 6 (04:12):
Of them and raise them without me being there.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
But she's been a good support since for me throughout
this whole time.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
That's great.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
We'll shout out to her because sometimes people break up
and they take the issues they have with their partner
out on the kids and not letting the kids see.
Speaker 5 (04:28):
Their dad and villainizing.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
So that's great that she's able to make sure that
you still have that relationship and you're comfortable with how
she is as a mom.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (04:37):
Yeah, she is an amazing person. And I also wanted
to try to light on you Angelas for I think
you're coming to play a year more for having a show, right.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
Yeah, okay, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
Thank you so much. I appreciate that.
Speaker 6 (04:50):
Way up, No problem, I'll have a good one.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
All right, you too?
Speaker 4 (04:53):
All right?
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Well that was Shine a Light eight hundred two nineteen
fifty one fifty. In case you couldn't get through a
speaking up people who still get along with their ex wives,
let's talk about Kevin Hart and Tory Heart. Tory Hart
has some things to say about going on tour with
Cat Williams and how Kevin Heart feels about it. It's
way up yet is next? She's like the talk like
they Angela Jean, like they Angela Jean.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
And she's spilling it all. This is yeaty way up.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. And
Elliott Wilson is here.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Huh eddiot wild Yeah, Elliott Wilson.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
Let's get it yet, don't forget it right, you're right.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
And Kevin Hart and Cat Williams, according to Tory Heart,
there is no beef between the two of them. You
know that is Kevin Hart's ex wife, but she's also
a comedian, right yes, and she's going on tour with
Cat Williams. And even though Cad had some not so
nice things to say about Kevin Hart and vice versa
as well, here's what she had to say about it.
(05:52):
Kevin loves everybody right, so white, there's no beaupset.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Why did he he ain't had a brit We go
back like twenty years.
Speaker 8 (06:02):
We're so close to the point that Kat has baby
sent my.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
Doll, Cat has cat babysitting your dog Cat.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
There we go.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
But okay, so let.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Me they're gonna have no jokes. They're gonna have no
eth for Kevin Hart on this road, on this tour.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
Well, he can't be for cat, but we know Torri won't.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Okay, but it seems like and the thing is, sometimes
things happen behind the scenes. We have no idea about it.
So people were saying her level of petty is on match.
But it was a great opportunity for her. Maybe she
told Kevin in advance and he knew about it.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Maybe not?
Speaker 3 (06:35):
All right, Diddy, the scenes that he allegedly shot for
Young Miami for her new reality show allegedly had to
be replaced. This is an exclusive from the Jasmine brand. Yeah, Jazz,
you know, she does have this show coming out, this
series on BT, and that was announced last year sometime,
(06:55):
and so people were wondering, is did Hey gonna be
on this? But of course what they're saying now is
that she has to film new content to replace the
footage from the several episodes that he initially was in
before all of the legal issues that he had. Now
I heard the show, right, How do you feel about
reporting on all of that? Because I see a lot
of people discussing how journalists and broadcasters are not reporting.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Well, I think you got to report the facts, and
the facts are out there. What he settled, what the
accusations are. I think people want you to kind of
just have extra information and kind of really, you know,
spill it even more. But you know, we see what's happened,
I mean, did he's obviously he settled one case and
has not kept a really low profile. So you know,
I wonder what moves he's making behind the scenes to
try to repair the.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Situation, right Like, what's he doing right now?
Speaker 4 (07:39):
I mean, yeah, where's he at right now?
Speaker 2 (07:41):
All right?
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Jonathan Majors is defending using Coretta Scott King's name. You know,
there was some backlash from this doctor Bernice King, who
was Scott King's daughter, had an issue saying my mother
wasn't a prop And here is one of the things
that Jonathan Major said, as he invoked the name of
Coretta Scott.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
King, how would you describe your relationship?
Speaker 4 (08:01):
She's an angel. She's held me down like a corrella
like area.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
And there was leaked audio where he was telling his
ex to be a Coretta Scott King, and so he
told TMD Jonathan Major said, my intention was to convey
my utmost respect for Coretta Scott King for her achievements
and both her personal legacy and the one she shares
with her husband, doctor Martin Luther King.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
As we're approaching doctor Martin Luther King Junior day.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Just say he need like a Michelle Obama or something
like that. At this point, man, he got like Florida.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
You know, Barack would be like first of all. But
Jonathan Majors also has some more news. There was a
movie magazine Dreams. It's a drama that he was the
lead in from Searchlight Pictures that Disney owns, and they
have pulled that from their December twenty twenty three release.
Now they're saying it might be shelved entirely. Yeah, they
(08:51):
haven't said anything about it, but their insiders are saying
they do not see a scenario in which search Light
open Searchlight opens the movie on the big screen. It's
also high unlikely that it will even go to street
streaming services. Now for a bit, man, all right, well
that is your ye tea. And when we come back,
we have about last night. Did you go see the kitchen?
Speaker 4 (09:09):
I did see the kitchen?
Speaker 3 (09:10):
All right, we'll talk about it. It's way up at
Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
So about last night. Last night, last night, Dezi went down.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
It's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela ye. And
Elliott Wilson is here, huh Elliott, Yeah, and it's time
for about last night now, Elliott, I had every intention
of meeting you at the screening for the Kitchen that
is Daniel Caluja's directorial to Daniel.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Yes, indeed was he at that screening. He was. They
had a special Q and A after the screening. You
missed it.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
I know, you know what I have to after this.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
You know, I'm rehabbing uh my Brownstone in Brooklyn that
I boy.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
By the way, it's taking forever.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
I bought this house three years ago. It's still not
when I tell you, I cannot wait to talk to
people about the whole process. Because anytime you buy a house,
people will tell you buy the worst house on the
best black. But if that means you have to fix
it up, you end up spending way more money than
you intended. That's why I'm always like, do not spend
your last buying your house, because so many things are
(10:09):
gonna end up coming up that you have to pay for.
You know, right right now, they're doing spray foam insulation
in my house, and then the walls go up the
dry wall. Then after that the flooring goes down. But
I was picking tiles and so I was there for
a long time.
Speaker 5 (10:24):
Trying to figure out what I wanted.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
So it was a process and by the time I
was done, I'm not gonna lie, I was exhausted. But
you went to the screening, so I tell us about it.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Yeah, a very interesting storyline between the man and the boy,
a really rough area of London that tells the story
of this neighborhood. Not to give away too much, but yes,
it's a you know, Daniel's an amazing actor. This is
his the directorial debut, so it's really a good film.
I enjoyed it. And the funny thing is when I
was coming out, you know, you know how you're watching
a movie and then got goes to the bathroom. I'm
about to get there, and I run it right into
(10:53):
our guy MANO. Yeah, right in the MAINO. As soon
as I was trying to get out.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
The theater, give me did you say something about you curl?
Speaker 4 (11:01):
He's fascinating with my curls, he.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Said, he said, Ellie. Still we're in the same card
I told him that's your curl passage.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
Yeah, the universe connects ran right into Maino and I
got to see him.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Okay, I hope he wasn't being phony. He better not
be nice and than come up here talking crazy. You
don't like somebody's sitting.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
I saw Elliott. I shook him down with put hands
on them.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
All right, well listen when we come back and thank
you for that. I've got to make sure that comes
on Netflix this week.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Right Friday, Yeah, this is Friday.
Speaker 6 (11:29):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Why she called the kitchen by the way.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
That's what they're calling this area of London, rough part
of London.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
All right, well we got to check that out and
when we come back, we have Gurus of the gram. Now,
this is where there's a lot of people on the internet, podcasters,
personalities who are quote experts on certain things, but maybe not.
Maybe they're just giving their opinion and we want to
see if you agree. Now, this is from me and
my Big Mouth podcast, and this is about infidelity. According
(11:57):
to him, all mentruggle with infidelity.
Speaker 9 (12:01):
Listen to this, ladies, It is dumb to leave your
man because he cheated.
Speaker 10 (12:06):
Now if he's a cheater, yes, but because he cheated.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
What you gonna do?
Speaker 10 (12:11):
You're gonna find you another man that don't struggle with infidelity.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
We all do, all.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Right, we'll talk about it. Eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty. Is that you all men struggle with infidelity?
Speaker 2 (12:24):
One?
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Eight hundred fifty fifty Call us up, Let us know
what you think. It's gurus of the gram.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
They talked that talk. But is it Kapanah? They are
gurus of a gram?
Speaker 4 (12:35):
All right?
Speaker 3 (12:36):
This way up at Angela, Yeah, I'm Angela yee. Elliott
Wilson is here.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Hi, Eddiot Wels Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
And it's time for some gurus of the gram. This
came from at Me and My Big Mouth podcast.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
All right. He had some things to say, and he
made it sound like this is factual.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
It's all about men and infidelity and how hard it
is for you.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
It is a struggle.
Speaker 9 (12:56):
Here's what he said, Ladies, it is dumb to leave
your man because he cheated.
Speaker 10 (13:01):
Now, if he's a cheater, yes, but because he cheated,
what you gonna do? You're gonna find you another man
that don't struggle with infidelity?
Speaker 5 (13:10):
We all do, all right, Elliott, what do you think
about that?
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Not true? At all not true at all.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
Okay, so you've never had to struggle.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
I'm struggled in the nineties, but it's a while ago.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
And listen, a lot of the guys in the room, Dan,
who's our producer, said he's never cheated Navy. I will
not repeat what he said, but let's just say when
he eats, if there's still food in the room, he
will eat again. I'll just say like that. Now, let's
see what you guys think. Eight hundred two nine fifty Erica,
(13:46):
how are you?
Speaker 11 (13:47):
I'm really well. How are you today, Angela?
Speaker 4 (13:49):
I'm good?
Speaker 5 (13:50):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Elliot and I are talking about this men struggle with infidelity?
Speaker 5 (13:54):
What do you think about that?
Speaker 11 (13:55):
I couldn't stop laughing. That's so ridiculous. I've never I'm
a grown woman. I've had a number of relationships and
fidelity was never an issue in my relationship. Not only that,
but I have male friends, plenty of male friends who
have no problem being faithful to their woman.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Little boys struggle with infidelity.
Speaker 11 (14:17):
The majority issue, and that's not something to do with you.
But don't think that all men have that problem.
Speaker 6 (14:22):
Baby.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
That's just you, Okay, all right, that's just you.
Speaker 9 (14:25):
Boo.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
All right, don't put it on everybody.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
Everybody's jackets that called projections.
Speaker 11 (14:31):
Stop playing.
Speaker 5 (14:32):
Okay, thank you, Hey TJ. How are you?
Speaker 6 (14:35):
I'm good. I'm good.
Speaker 5 (14:36):
I'm good.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Ellie and I were talking about this. You think that
all men struggle with infidelity.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
I mean we do, but not because we're cheetahs.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
Okay, explain.
Speaker 6 (14:48):
I think men struggle with infidelity because most men settle.
And that's the reason why. It's kind of like when
you see a guy. When you see a guy pull
up in his whip, most of the time, we ain't.
We ain't having our dream car. We just driving we
can afford ah girling on arms. You see a girl
on arms, that ain't. That ain't who we really want
to be with. That's just who we could get.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
That's not your Ferrari, that's your what car? Would you
call it? Your Kia?
Speaker 6 (15:14):
Exactly?
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Exactly? Too many guys driving around the kids.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
What you're saying, maybe that's who you're meant to be with?
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Nah?
Speaker 4 (15:24):
You think you think men settled too early? Like do
we settle to earlytho logic? Boy?
Speaker 6 (15:28):
See, See the thing is the thing is, as men,
we all got to put on the front and pretend
to be Tarzan every day. We can't move like women
through and admit that we get lonely sometimes too. It's
much easier for women than it is for us. You know,
on a late night, a woman can send me a
random text and say, hey, I'm lonely, can you pull up.
I'm only asking two questions. You need to bring something
(15:49):
with your address. We can't do that.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
This sounds very personal, and I just want to say
in respond to that, I want to say a lot
of times I see women with men and say, how
did he get her? She is too good for him?
So it seems like we have opposite issues here. But no, okay,
well what kind of car are you driving?
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Now?
Speaker 6 (16:08):
Well, my vehicle is my business.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
So okay, what is it?
Speaker 6 (16:13):
I have my own luxury car service coming him, but
I'm going on Chevy suburban.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
Okay, all right, there you go.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
So your woman, is that your dream car?
Speaker 6 (16:22):
I mean to be honest with you, I really don't
even want to be behind the wheel of this.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
We're gonna find you a nice Chevy suburban woman.
Speaker 6 (16:31):
Now, I don't want that big body.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
All right, when we come back, we have your yee
T free thug. We'll tell you an updown what's going
on in this uh?
Speaker 5 (16:44):
In this trial? This why it cell trial.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
It's way up.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
She's about to blow the lid of off this spot.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Let's get it.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Angela's feeling that yee te Come and get your tea.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
It's way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela yee. And
Elliott Wilson is here.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
Huh, Ediott Wells.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Elliott Wilson, Ellen Wilson.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Let's get into some ee team. Let's do an update
on what's happening with young Thug. The YSL trial live
stream was interrupted. Somebody hacked and here's what they yelled out.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
Show Michell all right now.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Meghan Koniff went on social media on Twitter on x
I guess is what it's called and saiday, miss trial
is not the best outcome for thug and fans should
really want an acquittal. It would take a lot more
than yelling misschild for her to actually be a miss trial,
even if jurors did hear that. But if there wasn't
Miss Chell, and she says there won't be, then they'll
try everybody again. So it wouldn't make sense for that
(17:39):
to even happen. Another thing today, they opened up with
rich Gang's lifestyle playing great too, and they're going to
be talking about Birdman and rich Gang. They actually are
doing that right now on the live stream if you're
watching it, if you want to hack into that.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Insane, I know.
Speaker 5 (17:56):
And Jena is going to talk about that later today
when he joined us.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
By the way, he had a very interesting tweet about it.
We have to ask him about Yeah.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
I cannot wait for you guys to hear what he
has to say. All right, now, let's talk about Stephen A. Smith.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Shout out Stephen A Smith. Queens.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Stephen A Smith is calling out Jason Whitlock by name.
He said he never mentions his name, but Jason.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
I just called him. Did I call him Jason A Whitlock?
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Jason Whitlock has been saying that Stephen A. Smith's memoir
is not believable. And I did read it too, by
the way.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
Oh you very well read, I know, Angela.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
Yea, yeah, shout out to Stephen A. Smith.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
He was supposed to come up here, so I read
the book to prepare for that. And here's what Stephen A.
Smith had to say.
Speaker 12 (18:40):
But I mean it from my soul when I say
this is the worst human being I've ever known. I
don't know of another human being worse than Jason Whilock.
He is a piece of He's the dude that's going
to have a funeral and ain't gonna be no Paul
Barrows might be two people to show up.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Damn.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
A lot of people do not like Jason Whitlock.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
I went in forty five minutes. He went in rightfully.
So the fans online of putting the eat the beat
underneath these clips like this is a legendary clap back
at U, mister Whitlow.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
And he said he gave ESPN a heads up.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
Ye family, everybody. So I'm going on.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
This guy that on his podcast, even though that's his platform.
He wants to make sure they were now. Jason Whitlock
did respond on Twitter. He said, Stephen A. Smith, the
self proclaimed face of ESPN, is it a self proclaimed piece?
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Because I think he's earned.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
It and they definitely have made him the face of it.
He's earned it, embarrassed himself and ESPN last night. He
vows to never say my name again. No problem. He
doesn't have to say my name to explain the hard
to believe stories. And his memoir amazed seemingly no media
outlet and the country is interested in why the face
of ESPN tells so many far fetched stories about himself
(19:51):
and a book.
Speaker 5 (19:52):
Make it make sense?
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Does it seem like those are the outlanda stories in
the book from your recollection.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
I mean, if you tell me this is what you
did in your auto biography, I believe it.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
I don't think anything it has to get fact checked.
I mean, these book companies go through a whole process
of fact checking things before.
Speaker 5 (20:06):
Like how does he know what happened in this man's life?
All right?
Speaker 4 (20:09):
But I mind Stephen Afer really going in. I mean
some people say, don't give the person in your platform,
don't address them, but I think he tried to take
the high road for so long he finally had to get.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
It's hard not to.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
I saw Claudia Jordan talking about that today too, with
her and Funky Daneva, I guess got into it, and
she was like, look, when people keep on coming at
you and saying things, and it's easy to say ignore it,
but when it's happening to you, it's really hard to
ignore it.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
Don't be an idiot that you're easy.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
And when we come back, we have under the radar.
And let's talk about this. About twenty four percent of
renters in America say they can no longer afford their rent.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
According to a study, it's way up.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
It's in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 5 (20:52):
It's way up. But Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee, and
Elliott will send us here.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
Hi Eddiot, Well yeah, that's me and.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
It's time for these stories that are flying under the radar. Now,
this is in Chicago. Shout out to everybody in Chicago City.
A man is suing twenty seven women and that's because
the comments about him on are We Dating the Same
Guy Facebook group twenty seven women. In the comments, they
described him as a psycho, very clingy, and accused him
(21:19):
of ghosting women. Now, in his complaint, he says that
the group caused damage to both his reputation and finances.
This Facebook group, by the way, is supposed to protect
women from men who are toxic. That's the whole point
of it, right, And so women are able to go
on there and talk about their negative dating encounters with
(21:39):
men in their local communities. Is about eighty thousand members
wow in this group, and so he's saying it's defamation
and it's caused him humiliation, emotional distress, and reputational damage
and also resulted in unspecified lost earnings.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
That's twenty seven women.
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Twenty seven women.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
I want to say, though, is it defamation if that
was really the experience, Like if they really if he
ghosted them, or they feel like he was clingy or
they feel certain ways about him?
Speaker 4 (22:07):
Is that really clingy ghost?
Speaker 13 (22:09):
All right?
Speaker 4 (22:09):
But we'll see what.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Happens as we discussed. I remember there was this other website,
Don't datumgirl dot com and that managed to get taken down.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
But now we have this we are we dating the
same guy?
Speaker 4 (22:22):
All right?
Speaker 3 (22:22):
About twenty four percent of renters in America say they
no longer can afford their rent.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
According to a studying, The issue was.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
High among millennials and gen Z and that's compared to
only about ten percent of people who are sixty nine
years old and older had that issue. But a lot
of renters say they have to sacrifice necessities to pay
their rent, including forty one percent of gen Z and
millennial respondents. So they said rising rent costs not only
younger generations but also baby boomers who are making these
(22:51):
sacrifices to be able to pay their.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Rent and these tough economic times man.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Yeah, and you know it's tough to even qualify because
they'll say, in order for you to even be able
to when you're vetting people out, to be able to
get a rental, you have to have a certain amount
of income in comparison to what the rent is.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
A lot of people don't even qualify for that.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Yeah, and so it's hard and who wants to co
sign for anybody right now? But on the flip side,
Morgan's applications have soared in the first week of the
year as he got the money by trending lower. All right,
well that is you're under the radar now. You know,
we have Jid joining us later today. I cannot wait
to hear what he has to say, because he did
posts about Young Thug's trial, and I know he's going
(23:30):
to have some things he wants to discuss about that.
He also has his surround sound that's gone viral two years.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
Two years later, the song's bigger than ever.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Two years later, and some new music on the way
because everybody's always like, come on, JD.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
Angela, you wanted to get that information man, She's put
them to the carpet, like, what's going on with that music.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
I'm just glad I have a real journalist by my side,
Ria Wilson. It's a way up and the way up
mix is on the way at the top of the hour.
Speaker 5 (23:53):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
This is the rooms from industry shade to all of
gossip out and speeling that eat.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
It's way up and Angela ye, I'm Angela yee. And
Elliott Wilson is here with me.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
Eddiott Wells, Yeah, Elliott Wilson.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
And we're not going to start this et off with
the beef between Steph London and Jada Kingdom. We'll get
to that in one second. First, let's talk about Michael Strahan. Now,
he was on GMA and he had his daughter Isabella
with him.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
She's nineteen years old, and he.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Revealed her breast cancer, her brain cancer diagnosis during this interview.
Here's what he had to say about getting the news.
Speaker 14 (24:30):
The caller tells me that my daughter, Theabella had brain cancer.
And you know, we'd all been sitting here at the
desk a few days before. I was saying that, you know,
you commented that she was having headaches, but she's the
freshman in college. She's enjoining college life. And I didn't
think much of it when I when I mentioned that
to you here at the death.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
And you know, I know that he had spoken to
Robin Roberts a lot about what Robin Roberts went through.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
Because she's a survivor.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
Yeah she is.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
And so here is Isabella strain hand. You know she
is doing much better. She's doing okay. So here's what
else they said on Good Morning America.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Isabella, how are you doing at this very moment. How
are you feeling.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
I'm feeling good, not too bad. I don't know.
Speaker 15 (25:09):
I'm very excited for this whole process to wrap.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
But you just have to keep living every day.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
I think there's the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
So you know, at one point, Isabella was very emotional
and Michael Strainghan told her, you're allowed to cry when
I tell you my makeup artist actually works.
Speaker 5 (25:26):
As she said, she was in the waiting.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Area, like getting all teary eyed. That's a very strong
thing to be able to come on television.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
It did stop.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
It's I love the fact that you hit us up
today and had some things to say about this. This
Steph Lazarus record. Now it all started. You know, this
all kind of started with Berna Boy. Even though they're
both saying that it's not about him anymore. I think
it has moved away from being about burna boy and
it's turned into two more than that.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
Issues between the two of them.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Well, Stephal Undone Yes today put out this song where
she came at Jada Kingdom. I mean, and we didn't
know what was gonna happen. Jada Kingdom woke up and
heard it, and I'm sure she had a thousand text
messages and miss phone calls. But here is here's Steph
London's song Limeterary.
Speaker 5 (26:17):
Everybody bar and so my eggs and phone on me.
Speaker 10 (26:19):
God, don't you keep your trip both your head which
just give me your.
Speaker 8 (26:26):
On your nose, Make you forget your buddies, only ten
one your fit, don't never forge, it's never over. No
month for your for your granmy go to you.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
Oh they got walking, that's right.
Speaker 5 (26:41):
Okay, So you like the Steph.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
That's my favorite of all the battle Okay.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Well, Jada Kingdom came back and she was very cool,
calm and collected. But when I tell you she came
for blood, I mean she did not hold back. And
here is her Steph Lazarus song a.
Speaker 8 (26:57):
Sacrifice said, that is a sacrifice. But to stop you
go budness, sure, that is not a good for yourself
as fond your foodcast, bro, don't size up. You are
the only gail me. You said you're a freak off.
Most contour williant get a squat lois against the list,
very realistic and deal with your weekends. You all for
(27:20):
your naim pre on your book, your uncle that that incest.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Yeah, Drake got dragged into it. Family members got dragged
into it. Beani Man. Yeah, I mean Stephlandan's mother, aunt, cousin, brother, nephew.
It was all dragged into this. But I will say
I look at Jada Kingdom stories. I've been looking at
what both of them have to say. And she was
(27:46):
on social media and she said that first she posted
when you're supposed to be dead, but you got bored
of being dead, and she put at step leave me
the f alone, bye bye, and then she says, start
posting the leat things.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
Also go back, what's the first? Live again? And again?
Me never this show? One time. All I wanted was clarification.
She said, stop talk.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
Like people slow, and you know, she said, you respond
with a song and call me out instead of mams.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
What do you mean there?
Speaker 3 (28:12):
We all were there anyway, that's a rap, like she said,
moving on.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
I guess is it finally over?
Speaker 3 (28:17):
That's the question, right, she said, she's over it completely.
She added Steph London and she said, me doesn't figure out.
You don't figure you out already. You put a victim
and that's it. So I guess we're done. And she
said take care all right, Well that is your yet
and don't forget booka Clarence.
Speaker 5 (28:35):
By the way, it.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
Comes out tonight the night. Fine, kay.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
It's also Martin Luther King weekend, so you guys should
go see it. We both saw it. You did the
whole Q and A for it, and so Lakeith Stanfield
is amazing in this movie. By the way, David o'yello
is also in it. Tiana Taylor, isn't it. Yes, it's
so many people and the music, by the way, the
scoring of it is amazing, So make sure you'll check
that out. It comes out two nights, so let's go
(28:59):
see it this weekend. You know, we want to make
sure movies like this keep on being made. The Book
of Clearance. Jay Z produced the movie, also.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
Very hands on with the project, mister Carter.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
And the soundtrack also is ridiculous. All right, well let's.
Speaker 5 (29:12):
Get into some wild side nor money and Cardi B.
It's way up, but it's.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Relationship for career advice. Angela's dropping facts. This is as key.
Speaker 5 (29:21):
What's happens way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
I'm Angela Yee and my comrade, my compadre, Elliott Wilson
is here with me. Yes, yes, and it's time for
ask ye eight hundred two nine fifty one fifties and
then if you need any help, we're here for it.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
We got loose on the line, what's up? Lose?
Speaker 6 (29:36):
What's going on?
Speaker 5 (29:38):
What's good? What is your question?
Speaker 2 (29:39):
For me?
Speaker 5 (29:39):
And Elliott?
Speaker 6 (29:40):
My question is what's happening? I just I'm used to New.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
York and welcome.
Speaker 6 (29:45):
I've been going on dates and it seemed like the
girls like they want to move so fast, like they
actually like, oh, what's your credit score?
Speaker 5 (29:55):
WHOA?
Speaker 4 (29:55):
WHOA? Easy on a date?
Speaker 6 (29:57):
Yeah? Everything off the rip, no patience at all, And
I'm like trying to figure out what to do because
like I like to have fun together, but like not
like you're.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Not trying to settle down and give you a credit
score and move in and think about all that.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
Yeah, let's get to know each other. But it seemed
like the girls at least I just turned thirty three.
I'm a Capricorn. My birthday just say.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
I love us.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
Capricorns the best sign.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
You know, people love us the best sign.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Like people want to lock us down load, they want
to know our credit scouse.
Speaker 6 (30:36):
But I don't know what to do, Like, I don't
My dating then right now is like trash.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
I'm not even joking, but I feel like people are
trying to get you into a relationship before getting to
know you.
Speaker 6 (30:49):
Yes, And I'm like, you don't even know. You don't
know what I'm like. You don't know what I'm into.
You don't know if I'm a good guy. You don't know.
But it's like they want to move so fast, and
if I don't, then I'll lose the relationship.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
Right Well, first of all, you can't move faster than
you want to.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
So if you lose a relationship because you're not keeping
up with the rate at that they're going, you know,
there's nothing you could do about that. The right person
will also want to take their time in getting to
know you too.
Speaker 5 (31:19):
So anybody that's like trying to.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Force you or rush you into a situation, that ain't it.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
That's not your person.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
Yeah, and for you, I think the main thing is
to be honest.
Speaker 4 (31:29):
Los.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
You have to tell these women listen, we don't even
know each other like that yet. And I want to
make sure that you get to know me and know
that I'm even somebody that you would consider wanting to
be with and vice versa. So this is not just
for me, but this is for you also. And you know,
let's just take the time to get to know each other.
Anybody that is a reasonable person will do that because
(31:50):
it's a red flag if somebody is telling you, I
need to know this, what's your credit score?
Speaker 5 (31:55):
What's this? What's that?
Speaker 6 (31:56):
You know?
Speaker 5 (31:56):
What are you really interested in?
Speaker 4 (31:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (31:59):
Yeah, they like the girls. They really be looking for
the day.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Yeah, and listen, I do believe and relationships finances are important.
But when you're in a relationship, you know, when you're
at that point where we're trying to figure out if
we're going to move forward, not when we're getting to
know each other, I might not even like you now
that I've told you my credit score, how much I
make you know, those are things that you don't want
to tell the world, right, Yeah, So just be honest
(32:23):
with these women, and anybody who has the right intentions
will also be on the same page with you.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
Yeah. I really appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
All right, Los, it feels like these women look at
you as a catch though that's not a bad thing.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Stay in the fight, lo, stay in the fight, baby.
Speaker 6 (32:40):
You'll find the one that's right. I appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
Thank you, all right, Well, thank you for calling eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifties a number in
case you couldn't get through. And this is exciting. We
have a really fun guest coming up. Jed is very
joining us. Good guy, Yeah, good guy. And clearly his
songs are timeless. Okay, cause here's a song two years
ago that was then, but now it's getting all the attention.
(33:04):
But we'll talk about all of that. And he has
new music on the way. It's way up. Jed is
coming up next, y'all be way up with.
Speaker 4 (33:11):
Angela, Break them break them down more?
Speaker 5 (33:14):
Now, what's up?
Speaker 3 (33:17):
It's way up for the Angela yee And this week
Elliott Wilson is guest hosting, and we have in the
building now. Before we started this interview, I had to
make sure you and Elliott don't have beef because I
never know who's beefing with.
Speaker 5 (33:29):
Who's you guys?
Speaker 4 (33:30):
Am?
Speaker 2 (33:32):
Yeah, Bro, you're a villain right now.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
I'll it, Bro, I'll going through a jed thank you,
but jed for you.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
I mean just even And I know we were talking
about this, and I know part of what we're talking
about today is TikTok and how much that can actually
be something like you have a song that's almost two
years old that is number one on the I didn't
even know TikTok had a billboard, you know, top fifty.
Speaker 4 (33:54):
That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
It just happened. I feel like I knew the record
was good. I know it was an amazing, amazing record.
I knew it was more like Surrounse a grower, not
a shower.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
Ladies. How did it happen?
Speaker 13 (34:08):
JD?
Speaker 4 (34:08):
Like all of a sudden, It's the challenge, like where
did you first come aware of what was going on?
Speaker 2 (34:12):
When I dropped the album? It was a few challenges
going on, like with a few different songs dancing now
it was one of them, and then the video was
actually shot like an overhead angle. So I guess that
was maybe any challenge to the challenge, you know what
I'm saying, because we did the same thing. I had,
like girls in video dancing around the overhead God. So
I guess it just it just took shape.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
So that's dope. Means it was organic from your fan base.
It was it just somebody didn't know who you were.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
And yeah, because it was platinum before like this happened.
It's like some time of thing I was meant to be,
meant to be. I can't I couldn't have asked for that.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
Right now, I'm here with hip hop journalist Elliott Wilson
and we're talking to JID. So it seems like now
you're trying a different approach to writing. You talk about
it on your Twitter page and with the freestyle that
you just put out. Also, so you said you did
thirty freestyles. So what do you like better now that
you tried it both ways?
Speaker 2 (34:58):
I don't know, because it ain't know. One way to
skin cat. That's a horrible saying skinner cat.
Speaker 15 (35:02):
Yeah that sounds crazy like you would try, but I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
Whatever way I just can get it done. This is
just more of like a practice, repetition, trying to get
it so I was I learned it from Cold. Maybe
it's like one of the things he told me. So
I learned this years ago. I was just trying to
knock it out like a song, like just don't stop,
don't think, just line for line. If you got the
next line, just go into it and then pick it
from there.
Speaker 5 (35:29):
But you ever freestyle battle?
Speaker 6 (35:31):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (35:32):
Them be the best rappers on earth, the smack DVDs,
all of those guys. Oh my god, That's how I
started it right, So I would try. But I don't
even think.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
That could be a whole nothing approach. I would love
to see you and Cold go at it, my dog.
Speaker 15 (35:46):
We wouldn't have had no reasoning.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
It's a whole list of folks I could eat up
for that.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
You know how we make our New Year's resolutions, and
it feels like one of your resolutions is Okay, I'm
gonna make sure I do more music and give you
more of like Jid's songs.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
Never puts it out?
Speaker 5 (36:04):
Would you some of those songs?
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (36:07):
I have.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
I've been I've been selling songs on the loaf for years,
I didn't gave wrote wrote for artists, and sold a
lot of good songs that you probably heard.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
Right now. I'm here with hip hop journalist Elliott Wilson
and we're talking to Jid and Little YACHTI racial people
and you were you guys.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
All the time, black boys for sure.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
Yeah, well you drop that little two piece.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Last year we got so much music, bro. It's crazy
because people like try to under you know what I'm saying,
undermine him or whatever.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
But last year was a big year for him of
sort of people like really not seeing how talenty he
really is breaking stages Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
Man, we got it so metro booming. This is something
else that everybody is like, when is this coming? So
of that project? How much is done so far?
Speaker 2 (36:50):
I like the little try to around which is amazing.
I don't I vowed to like not give any false hopes, Okay,
but I would say it's in a good space to
where it is a hundred percent or it should come
out one hundred percent this year. I will say that. Okay.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
The songs that you gave to other people, like that
you wrote for other people that you're like, man, maybe
I should have kept that when they blow up, I.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Can give you all the I wrote this song for
on the recent project. Okay, and literally when I'm writing
a song, I'm reading the words is coming out. I'm
like this, this is too freaky, Like I try to
like channel sometimes or I'll just write it like you
(37:36):
know what I'm saying. And no, none of the songs
would be good for me.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
All right, Jed is here with us, Elliott Wilson and
I are having a time. Yeah, I feel like we're
going to hear that laugh a lot. But right now,
let's get into surround Time by Jed while he's hearing
this song, like we said, two years old.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
And it is rocking right now. It's way up.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
Put the volume, y'all be way up with Angela break
the break them down.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Now, what's up?
Speaker 3 (38:03):
It's way you put the Angela yee. I'm Angela yee.
And Elliott Wilson of course is here with me. Yes, yes,
And that was the song Surround Sound by.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
Our special guest. Did this last year?
Speaker 3 (38:14):
Even though you have been working and still putting out music,
you didn't put out a full album last year, And
so is that an intentional thing? Because I feel like
sometimes people think coming off like the success of you know,
twenty twenty two, they feel like I got to keep
on feeding them. I got to put out more music.
I gotta put out more product. But for you, it
feels like it's more like it's just quality. I'm not
(38:35):
trying to overdo it.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Yeah, it's just my process too. The way I like
receive and like put out information. I try to like live.
Of course, you gotta live a little and then I
just got a lot of materials. So this year I
was just going to, like, let me see what happened
if I just flood like I ain't never got nominated
for like a BT Award or something like that. Let
me see if what happened if I just put ten
toes in and you know what I'm saying, just try
and put my best effort forward.
Speaker 5 (38:57):
I feel like you should have, especially so all a.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Little about that I've been wrapping about. It's all gonna
come out of the music.
Speaker 4 (39:03):
I actually dial it back a little bit.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
I dial it back. I didn't have a little ship
on my shoulder.
Speaker 4 (39:09):
But it's only been going up, man, Yeah, been going
up sometimes.
Speaker 5 (39:15):
The politics of it too.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
Yeah, And I don't play them, did your family still
feel like you know, does anybody feel like you change?
Speaker 5 (39:21):
You got time for everything?
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Hope they do. I hope everybody had them out last time,
and I hope they feel like I'm Yeah, I was
Thanksgiving it was great, great, Christy too. I'll take everybody
to a cabin scared to the next hour. They don't
want to talk about it. Quiet, gonna wrap but no,
my family, family, everybody's great.
Speaker 5 (39:44):
Right now.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
I'm here with hip hop journalist Elliott Wilson and we're
talking to Jid. Yeah, even with surround sound, you had
baby Tait on that song. I think she had an
amazing year, you know, in twenty twenty three also, and
her album I really enjoyed.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
As we explotations, Yeah, yeah, it was good. It was good.
I ain't gonna hold you all the girls killing.
Speaker 5 (40:00):
It's been great. And I love to see the women
all working together too, for sure. You know that means
a lot.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
But a little competition doesn't hurt because y'all guys do
it all the time. And sometimes I feel like people
want the women to like, oh, why is she talking
about her? Why they're not getting along?
Speaker 2 (40:12):
But I'm mad at it though, I'm like getting stupid exactly,
not what it's stupid and people get hurt and lost.
But but it's just a little bit of you know,
joke about it later. Nobody's ever coming to I don't
feel like well a few years ago towards Home, Okay,
but it wasn't no wrap, It wasn't in formally.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
Can you betu his name in one of the records, right, was.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
It a thing that was something like that. Yeah, because
I went on to actually got a good relationship. That's
why it was like Mison screwed because then Bro actually
went on Twitter uther.

introduced to this guy.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
But no, no, no, beyond that, I wanted to say
so much. I kind of got That was the first
time I've ever been like struck or had a loss
for words, because first off, he like the O G
I'm like, I respect you, but I want to tell like, Bro,
I use seven of your lines on the album.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Bro, like assume.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
A right, you know what I'm saying, But I don't know.
You're trying to get attention to the grades, you know,
chasing Ghost, they chasing.
Speaker 5 (42:18):

him out, if he wants to be a faithful man
