But I do want to say we are wide awake today.
Speaker 5 (00:36):
We are.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yeah, you have some coffee uplifts people. I made some
nice little coffee mixed drinks this morning.

I will say this is the best coffee you've ever made.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
It was the coffee uplifts people, honeyberry mocha java that
I made for you guys. Iced It was ice I made.
I mixed it with some oat milk and a little

Speaker 5 (01:36):
Yes, Oh my gosh, yes I'm here.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
That's Shan freestyle. You're drunk freestyle. And now it's time
to shine a light. And today it's snowing outside. By
the way, traffic was terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
It was bad. I'm glad we were on foot.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, getting here to we were walking past all the traffic.
But we want to shine a light on all the
people who are out there working to make the streets
safe for people to be able to drive on. I
saw a lot of snowplows out. The snow is not
that heavy at all. But ice, Yeah, ice is the issue.
I feel like that's the real thing. I told Jasmine
when we was walking, I said, I was so scared
you was going to slip and fall because I'm so
(02:09):
on brand, I'm a faller. Yeah, So we just want
to shout out everybody who is out working and doing
things to make sure.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
That we can make it to work absolutely.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Now, who do you guys want to shine a light on?
Eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty Dwayne, what's up?
How you doing? Angela? I'm great? Who would you like
to shine a light on?
Speaker 6 (02:25):

Speaker 7 (02:28):
I've listened to you every day, Angela.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Man, Oh, thank you. That means a lot to me.
That was great for me to hear. Coming into the
new year. I'm excited, I feel energized. So thank you
so much.
Speaker 7 (02:41):
Dole Club anytime.
Speaker 6 (02:43):
I appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
All right, thank you? That was shine I light eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. In case you
couldn't get through, call us up and let us know
who you want to show some love too, And when
we come back, let's show some more love. The Emmys
were on last night, and we'll tell you who some
of the big winners were, And of course there were
some monumental things that happened. It's way up, they say, rooms.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
From industry shade to all of gossip out. Angela's spilling that.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yes, it's way up with Angela, Yea, I'm Angela. Ye
Jasmine Brand is here.
Speaker 9 (03:16):
Shoot show.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
What's your freestyle?
Speaker 4 (03:18):
I'm here.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
And let's talk about the Emmys from last night. What
I do realize and Anthony Anderson hosted the seventy fifth
Emmy Awards, is that there's a lot of shows I
haven't watched.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
I know, because you were like, I don't watch that.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
You never watched, Like I've never watched Ted Lasso.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
I watched the first one, which had.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Twenty one nominations, you know, for funny. All right, but
let's talk about some of the big winners. Three shows
dominated Succession, The Bear and Beef.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Did you watch any of those?
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Beef? I love and we're gonna talk about that in
a second. But yeah, so some of the people though
that also won last night. I mean Quinta Brunton for
Abbot Elementary. She was the lead actress in a comedy series,
which is a huge deal, by the way, and I
watched Abbot element She's the first black woman in more
than thirty years to win in that category. And here's
(04:05):
what she said.
Speaker 9 (04:06):
Wow, thank you so much.
Speaker 8 (04:08):
I don't even know.
Speaker 9 (04:09):
I'm so much nut. I love making, yeah, but elementary
so much. I am so happy to be able to
live my dream and act out comedy.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
She does such a phenomenal, phenomenal job on that show.
I love it.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
I like her, Yeah, yeah, I really like her.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
And then also Nisi Nash and I did watch this
Dimer Monster, the Jeffrey Diamond Story. She won for Supporting
Actress in a Limited Series or movie. And here's what
she said, And you know who, I want to thank you.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
I want to thank me.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
For believing in me and doing what they said.
Speaker 5 (04:42):
I could not do.
Speaker 10 (04:44):
And I want to say to myself in front of
all you beautiful people, gone girl, with your bad set.
I accept this award on behalf of every black and
brown woman who has gone unheard yet over policed, like
Glinda Cleveland, like Sandra Blayin, like Breanna Taylor.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Yes, that's probably one of my favorite speeches all night.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Gosh amazing she had. And Christina Applegate had a great
speech she did too, because.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
She is funny too. Yeah, yeah, she's funny too.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
All right. Now, Ali Wang from Beef became the first
Asian woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress
in a Limited Series. Another person who I was really
rooting for in that category was Dominique Fish back for Swarm.
By the way, she did a phenomenal job. So shout
out to her Brookline stand up. But here is Ali
Wang as she accepted her As she accepted her award.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
I wouldn't be standing here without my mother and my father,
who I so wish was alive to share this moment
with me. My hilarious father who loved me unconditionally and
taught me the value of failure.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
And to my beautiful daughters.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Maria Nikki, you are my everything and this is this
is for you.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yes, sweet, I really like Ali Wang and Beef was amazing.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
That was Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
You told me to watch because sometimes I get some
road rage, and that made me rethink it. I mean,
they took that to a next level. Yes they did,
all right. And by the way, shout out to Elton John,
who officially joined the Egoch club. He won an Emmy
for his Disney Plus special Elton John Live Farewell from
Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
So surprise that didn't happen earlier for him.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
They had congratulations to him and also the cast of
Martin Reunited. And you know we've been talking about this.
Carl Anthony Payne was on Way Up with Angela Yee.
He was discussing his conversations that he does have to
this day with Martin. They're on a good they're on
good terms. And here's what that was like. This is
a real moment, yea. We finally about to get it, Paul.
Speaker 10 (06:41):
We're presenting an award, not being presented with one knucklehead.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I believe he was something.
Speaker 11 (06:48):
Wait, wait, wait, Paul, is all the way wrong you guys.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I mean we should have won an Emmy.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
During our run.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
I know that's right.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
They definitely should have won.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
They should They should have Emmys for reruns because they would,
they would circle back, circle back that category. Those Martin reruns,
those are a lifesaver. That and I think The Office,
those two when I watched those reruns. All right, Seinfeld,
well that you said what and Seinfeld, yes, all right,
well that is your yet. And when we come back,
we have about last night. That's where we discussed things
(07:18):
that we did last night. It was not the best weather,
but I was definitely out in these streets. All right,
it's way up last night, So about last night? Last night,
last night I went down what's up? Its way up
at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee, and Jasmine Brand is here. Yes,
I'm here, and it's time for about last night. Now,
it's been snowing here in New York. It actually started
(07:39):
snowing last night while I was out. And what I
was out doing was I was at the opening of
a new restaurant. And this is in Brooklyn at Hotel Indigo.
It's called Aliyah. So we got to meet the woman
Aliyah Okay, who actually does the restaurant. She's Jamaican and
she's from Brooklyn. She's from flatburysh the same area that
I'm from.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Kindred Spirits.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Yes, I love to see that, but it's on the
fourth floor of the hotel. I'm gonna tell you what's
great about this restaurant. We had a conversation about it.
It has a pool by the way, that's outside. What
I love about it even more is that it's only
four feet.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Because you can't which is a different topic. We go ahead.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
That's a whole nother topic. But She was saying that
she doesn't want the restaurant to get like crazy ridiculous.
She doesn't want it to be so packed that it's uncomfortable.
She wants it to be more chill.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
You know.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
She wants people to come and have a good time,
but also not feel cramped or have like long waiting times,
which sometimes can be hard to.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
She's gonna pull that off.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
It's gonna be a nice space and atmosphere and environment.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
And the other thing is that it's in a hotel.
So when you're in a hotel and the pool is
your guests are able to have access, right you can't
like say, oh no, you can't come. So you know
that's the other thing. But I just love the fact
that I could see a new black owned business and
restaurant opening. I know you love food. You know how
was the food? Oh it was good. We just had
like some samples.
Speaker 8 (08:55):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
So and this is called Aliyah, what are they open
already or this is just a soft I.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Think it's a soft lunch. But I see right now
if you look online, because you know, I went and
looked that they are open daily and she's also doing
the bar downstairs. So we love to see a black
woman doing her thing in Brooklyn. The other thing I
was going to say, since we just brought up food
is the wine and Food festival I'll be co hosting
in Miami. Oh nic Chef JJ, who was up here before.
You know, he has his book all about cooking Rice
(09:21):
and I did his Wine and Food Festival here in
New York as well. That was an amazing time. So
I'll be out there for that and I want you
to come.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
Yeah, I want to tack along.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
That was a surprise so Jasmine. For her birthday, she
really wanted to go to Miami.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
I did, Yeah, I did. I did.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
That was in December. She didn bought her flight and everything,
and then I couldn't go at that time. But this
time I feel like we'll just it's a do over
February twenty fourth in Miami and handling some food things
out there because I know you love that.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
I know I love it.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Well, that is about last night, and when we come back,
I want to talk about something else that happened, because
another thing Jasmine and I do is we do prep
and we were talking about Annison pac yesterday. Yes, you know,
they announced that he has filed for divorce, and he's
seeking joint custody of the two kids that he has
with his ex wife. They've been together for a while, yeah,
thirteen years, right at thirteen years, and now he's already
(10:10):
spotted holding hands with somebody else. So I want to
discuss that, because when you break up with somebody, especially
in a marriage, right, yeah, a lot of people are
weighing in and have things to say. But is it
inappropriate to be like pictured and doing those things so
quickly after? And I'm gonna tell you what I think
about it. You'll tell us what you think, and you
guys can always weigh in at way up with ye
(10:31):
and let us know what you think too. It's way up, y'all.
Speaker 6 (10:33):
More way up with angelay on.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
Now you know what it is.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
It is, what's up? Its way up with Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine brand is here with me.
Good morning Angela, Good morning Jasmine. And today we want
to talk about something that you know. This news broke
that Anison Pac is getting divorced from his wife. They've
been together for more than thirteen years. They have two
children together. Now I know Anason Pac personally, so I
(10:58):
knew he was married. Also, people weighing in on a
lot of different things. But a couple of days after
we found that, our TMZ broke the story that he's
seeking joint custody of their two kids. They want to
divvy up their assets equally. He's already been pictured out
in where he was in print of Vayat and he's
with the woman. She's a Dutch singer. Her name is Stethra.
(11:19):
I had to look that upa Stai Marathilatu and I
had to really look that up un try to figure
out pronunciation because they're not speaking English. But we don't
know when they first got together, but right after he filed,
just the days later. Now they've been out and about now.
I want to see what you think about that, because
they're holding hands, so it's not even like it's a question.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
Yeah, I kind of feel like obviously they probably were
dealing with each other while he was still married illegally,
but I just feel like it's too soon to be
pictured out with her. I don't mind you moving on,
because obviously things happen and the public finds out later,
but I just feel like, right now, like a few
days afterwards, let's not be pictured together holding hands on vacation.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
It's hard to say because sometimes by the time somebody
files for divorce, it's been over done done, sometimes for
a couple of years or more.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Which is fine. I don't have a problem with that.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
It's just the going out in public and being photograph
and I'm saying they did it on purpose, but I
just kind of would just wouldn't want, you know, to
have it out there publicly yet.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
And there also be wondering, how do people know that
you're there already, that they're able to Papa Razzi's able
to get these pictures?
Speaker 9 (12:21):
Yea?
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Is she looking cute? He looking fly? You know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
That's what makes me feel like, I don't know if
he's a stage type of guy, but he doesn't seem
like he's that kind of guy. But I just I
just don't like the you know, just just wait on
the public, you know.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Yeah, And she's also a singer, so I don't know
how they act really and listen. Also, sometimes things are rebound.
I don't know how his marriage was, like honestly, behind
the scenes, we don't know what happened, so it could
be anything. So I feel like I understand, especially when
you have kids, not wanting to do the most and
not wanting to hurt the other person publicly. And maybe
(12:54):
he also felt like, look, I'm about to go do
this and go on this vacation. I need to file
right away because I don't want anybod I didn't think
that we're still together because we haven't been for a while.
Because I know people who have been separated for literally years. Yeah,
I do too, and are still not divorced, and so
you know, it's just fine. I just also feel like,
you know, sometimes life is short, and if you want
(13:15):
to live your life and not have to worry about
what people have to say and what people think, you know,
that's on you. The part that sucks is that he's famous.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
And also part that sucks that they have kids.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
I mean, maybe the kids already know it might be cool.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Yeah, it might be happy. Thirteen years is a long
they did good at a long marriage.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Thirteen years is a long time. But I guess it's
just the public perception. So people would say, who cares
what people think? You know, they don't know what's going
on in my personal life.
Speaker 7 (13:39):
Now.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
If it was me, I wouldn't. I'm very respectful to
my ex and everything. So I would never have publicly
done that, and she probably already knew.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
If it was me, what would I do, I'd be outside. Okay,
we're opposites. That's why we're friends. We're opposites.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
All right, Well, when we come back, since we're talking relationships,
let's talk about Rick Ross. We have a baby that
was born in November, and we'll talk about yg and Sweetee.
People are speculating they broke up already. All right, it's
yet next.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
It's way up yo, about the lead above this spot.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Let's get it.
Speaker 6 (14:11):
Oh, angelus feeling that yea te Come and get the tea.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
What's up? His way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And Jasmine Brand is here. Yes, and you love this.
It's ye tea time.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Yeah, it's my favorite part.
Speaker 7 (14:22):
Now.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Rick Ross was trending yesterday, so I went automatically to
see what was going on. It was a couple of
different things. Yeah, he got the key to the City
of Miami, which is a big deal. Yes, he was
among the honored guests. It was the five thousand Role
Models Doctor MLK Junior Scholarship Breakfast, and this was yesterday,
and so he also wanted to make sure that he
told Memphis to put the guns down. Yep, after Yogatti's brother,
(14:46):
a big joke was killed. And so the other reason
he was trending was because of his alleged secret two
month old baby that he had with Sierra Nicole.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Wait a minute, he has another baby.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Yes, Sierra Nicole's model and an entrepreneur. She put us
some clips of the two month old baby on Instagram
and people were saying congratulations to her and Rick Ross,
and people were writing baby Rose and one person said
congrats to you and Rick Ross new bundle of Joy
and then she responded thank you with the smiling emoji.
All of this is in the midst of his relationship
with Christina Mackie. Now, Christina Mackie and Rick Ross have
(15:21):
been out and about together a whole lot. Christina Mackie
has been really, I guess you would say, flaunting her relationships.
She's been a little chatty, She's very excited, and she
was she decited to be here. She was on the
Cali Kickback podcast talking about how Rick Ross's exes with
nothing more than funny and she knew that her relationship
with him could not be compared to his past ones.
(15:43):
Here's what she had to say about being a pick
mey and loving it there.
Speaker 12 (15:46):
Please keep calling me a pickny. I'm asking you to
refer to me as a pickney. All you're doing is
manifesting that up with me. I want to get picked
over and over and over and over and over and
over again by the same and a million times.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Well.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
One of Rick Russ's children to mothers, Tia Kemp, also
came forward and she had some things to say. It
feels like she was definitely going straight at Christina Mackie.
And here's what she had to say about her ex.
You got to over there talking about a forty some
yold you too for it to be forty nine or
forty eight in a few days.
Speaker 13 (16:20):
Dusty and your diabetes medicine because I found it in
the back Figerator.
Speaker 14 (16:24):
I want to know what's going on with you while
you're going to see old eurorologies on Thursday Tuesday?
Speaker 15 (16:29):
Is she getting ding dings extensions.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Or some crowded up now, Tia is the same Tia
from Tia told me when fifty.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
You won't believe what Tia told She's always choosing violence.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Yes, she definitely is. And so that's the drama there.
And speaking of breakups and xes, it looks like YG
and Sweety have broken up after dating a little less
than a year. Sources are saying they decided to end
there about seven month relationship on a mutual decision. They
decided that they're better off friends. And YG said God
moves real quick this year, and Sweety posted God moving
(17:03):
quick this year.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Okay, I forgot they were together, honestly, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
When it first happened, it was a thing. They've been
kind of low.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Yeah, well actually I kind of like that.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Yeah, nothing wrong with that. All right, Well that is
your yet. And when we come back, we have under
the radar. These are the stories that are not necessarily
in the headlines. These stories are flying under the radar.
And let's talk about Adidas. The CEO is revealing something
that he did with the sixty thousand employees after everything
that happened with Kanye West. All right, that's under the radar.
(17:32):
When we come back, its way up. Take the news.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
News.
Speaker 6 (17:35):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
What's up his way up with Angela? Yee, I'm Angela
Yee and Jasmine brand is here. Yep, I'm here looking
like it's freezing outside.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
It is all right.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Well, the CEO of Adidas gave out his number to
sixty thousand employees and that was to boost morale after
everything happened with Kanye West. He said, some people think
I'm crazy. This is what he told the Wall Street
or all. He said that he thinks it's better for
leaders to be more open when coming out of a crisis.
So at that time, in a statement, Adida said they
(18:09):
do not tolerate anti Semitism and any other sort of
hate speech. They also had said at that time, Yea's
recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous.
Now imagine this. The CEO had sixty thousand employees.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
That's a lot.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
So he did say he was getting, you know, hundreds
of emails and people reaching out to him as well
during that time.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Do all your employees have your number?
Speaker 15 (18:31):
Angela?
Speaker 2 (18:31):
You know what's interesting? So that was the case as
far as the multiple businesses that I have. But it's
more it is difficult to manage and people are always
coming and going. You know, it's a difficult job market.
But I do like to make sure that people are
able to reach me. But what I realized is great
(18:52):
to have a manager for that purpose.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
Let me tell you, no, my, the employees don't have
my number.
Speaker 10 (18:56):
You know.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
I've had to go in to when I had the
previous Juice bar. I used to have to go into
resolve conflicts when to employees were getting along with each
other too much, and it definitely was a lot of work.
So I will say, but that's a nice gesture. Though, yes,
sometimes it's not the smartest, most effective thing to do.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
Not me girl, all right.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Now, there are six people missing from the Saint Louis area,
and some people believe that they are in the clutches
of an online cult Rashad Jamal. He's a convicted child
molester and former rapper turned online guru who operates the
University of Cosmic Intelligence. So according to reports, some of
these people were reported missing in August, and he's also
(19:37):
serving an eighteen year prison sentence in Georgia after he
was convicted of one cut of child molestation and one
count of cruelty to children. So now they want to
make sure that the people that are missing are found
and that they are okay.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
So he's doing all this from behind bars.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Well maybe it happened before he was arrested, so I'm
not sure exactly what's going on, but that's what the
speculation is. Okay, you know, so definitely a difficult thing,
ye per family, All right, well that is you're under
the radar, and you know, we got The Way It
Mix at the tap of the hour, Plus we got
Bernice Bergos joining us in Cleo Trappa. They're on the
New York version of The Impact. That show is actually
(20:13):
going to be on VH one starting January twenty second,
But we have some spoilers for you today. Let's get
ready to party at the Way It Mix. Let's go
just like the like the Angeliae Jasmine brand is here
with me shoot show. That was a drunken freestyle.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Thank you for that, Angela.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Let's get into some yet. Now this is breaking news.
We did not see this happening this quickly. But Diddy
and Diagio that's the company that he was in partnership
and partnership with for Siraka and delhion T Killa have
resolved all disputes. So you know, it was a back
and forth. Where did he accuse them of racism, and
then they fired back and had allegations against him not
(20:52):
doing what he was supposed to do to promote the brand. Well,
now they've agreed to resolve all disputes and did he
has withdrawn all of his allegations Diagio and will voluntarily
dismiss his lawsuits against Diazio with prejudice. And they have
no ongoing business relationship. So now Diagio solely owns Sirak
Vaka and Delion Tequila.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Interesting, it didn't take that long for the mi to
settle too. This was just last May. So they circle this.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Yes, sue them in May. Yeah, and listen that is
lets you know, did He's got a lot going on
right now. We did see him, uh though him him
and his son for some sarcom Yeah, post a picture together.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Yeah he's outside, but quietly outside, all right.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
Little nas X has addressed the rolot controversy for Jay
Christ and he says this is taking a toll on him.
Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
And I know, like given my history, anything that I
do related to religion can be seen as like makriy
just was not the case with this. I do apologize
for that. I will say, I am sorry for that.
This is not like to try to get everybody on
my good side or whatnot, but this is more so
to clear my own head about my own decisions. I know, like,
you know, I messed up like really bad this time,
(22:06):
and I can act unbothered all I wan't, but it's
definitely like taking a mental toll on me.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Didn't he say he was going to school or something
at one point?
Speaker 10 (22:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (22:14):
Yeah, So that's where he maybe took it too far.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
And then they were like, he is not enrolled here?
What is he talking about?
Speaker 4 (22:21):
I like the bonnet though?
Speaker 2 (22:22):
All right, now, remember when Snoop Dogg said he quit
smoking and it turned into this whole big thing with
other people saying they quit too. Well, it turns out
that was a terrible marketing stunt. It went very badly
in a substantial revenue increase, so the CEO actually left
his position. Oh man, at that time, I mean, you
(22:42):
know what the problem was, we didn't know? All right. Now,
let's talk about Drake versus most death. Aka ya seen bay,
here's a beef we never thought we see. If you
recall what originally happened, Yacin Bae had some things to
say about Drake not being a hip hop artist but
more of a pop artist.
Speaker 16 (22:59):
Drake is pop to me in a sense like if
I was in Target in Houston and I heard a
Drake's song, it feels like a lot of his music
is compatible with Shopping.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
That was on the cutting room floor. It is the
name of that show. Is that an insult?
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Yes, it is.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
He meant it to be an insult too. I would
love Shopping and Target listen to Drake though, fhy Well.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Here is how Drake responded.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Hip hop is a culture.
Speaker 5 (23:25):
There's a way of life.
Speaker 14 (23:26):
So you dressed the way told where you broll, break
dancing rhymes, stage shows, the wordplay at stepcop.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
So Drake posted this method man as a response and said,
what when we say again, let me shine my lik king,
don't change up now? Message probably be like how I
get any all right? Well, that is your yet we
have asked yee on the way, But in the meantime
call us off eight hundred two nine two fifty one
fifty anything you need help with, we are here to help.
And let me tell you something. We make it through
(23:58):
with all these drama, all these so we are here
to help you out in the meantime, here some future
Drake and TAM's wait for you as way up.
Speaker 6 (24:05):
Right, everybody since with its relationship or career advice, Angela's
dropping facts you.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Should This is as d what's up? Its way up
with Angela yee, I'm Angela yee, and Jasmine Brand is
here with me.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
Yes, I'm here, yes indeed.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
And it's time for you guys to ask questions if
you need some help. You know, we are the experts.
Eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty is number now
lows what's up?
Speaker 6 (24:28):
Lows what's going on? I'm back again.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
You back again. You've called in before. You said you
moved to New York and you wanted dating advice. Correct, Yeah,
all right, so let's hear it. So this time I
actually started using the app I don't know if to
be familiar, called him and and at the beginning it was.
Speaker 8 (24:44):
Showing me a lot of unattractive women.
Speaker 7 (24:47):
Quote not my type. And I finally matched with someone
and I'm going on a date this weekend.
Speaker 8 (24:53):
Okay, Yeah, we've.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Been tacked for a little bit, so I'm trying to
figure out, like one of them, what's a good place
to save her?
Speaker 8 (25:01):
And like there's some advice on a date to keep
things cool, keep things exciting.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Do you know anything about her since you were on
her hinge app and on her profile, I mean on
the hinge app on her profile. What are some things
that you know about her that she likes?
Speaker 8 (25:14):
Oh, well, she liked one of my statements, which was,
I like the real world, but I think the.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
Real world not real.
Speaker 7 (25:21):
So I think she likes that I'm creative.
Speaker 10 (25:23):
We do talk about like a lot of creative.
Speaker 15 (25:25):
Things, so I think she's a creative woman.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Well, there's a lot of cute things happening in New
York City right now. I'm telling y'all something. I went
to the Whitney Museum on Friday, and it's I think
it's about seven floors, And so going to look at
art is fun, and I think that can also spark
some conversations, as you guys are like interpreting what you
see and what you're drawn to, and that helps you
get to know somebody better. Yeah, so something creative like
(25:50):
that that maybe people haven't done. They have some amazing
exhibits there right now. Okay, if that's something. The Brooklyn Museum,
by the way, is also really really lit and you know,
Was and Alicia are about to have their artwork inside
of the Brooklyn Museum and it's called outside, so you
got to do something indoors.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Does she drink?
Speaker 7 (26:08):
Drink?
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Make sure you have some cocktails.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Oh, maybe a wine tasting would be cute. I think
anything that shows that you keep one.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
White.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
No, I think it costs money, but it's not super expensive.
And anything I think that shows that you plan something
is important, not just like a freestyle or a regular date,
but really something where you guys get to have a conversation,
walk around talk, you know, things like the.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
Shows that he really tried and put an effort, because
every guys will take you to dinner. Right when you
do something like this, Wow, it's it's you know, it's different,
and we like to eat.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Don't get us wrong, but I think planning something a
little bit different is important.
Speaker 8 (26:49):
That's fine, that's fine.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
You know.
Speaker 7 (26:51):
My only thing is I'm trying to raise some money
for the date, so anybody can help.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
First of all, sir, listen, now you're going too far.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
I thought you were creative. You cannot go on a
date with no money because if unexpected things happen. And
she's like I want to drink. I want this and
you ain't got it. You know, you got to be prepared.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
We not cash affing you nothing.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
You better go on there and find a group on.
You better secretly use that group on because people have
issues apparently with coupon's on the date happy hour.
Speaker 15 (27:29):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
Sit at the bar.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
Yeah, so let's go.
Speaker 6 (27:32):
I think I think the.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Somebody said the museum is free with the library card?
Are we sure about that?
Speaker 8 (27:39):
Can get a library card from the library.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Come on, stop it now, come on now, you started
off really strong, by the way, though, nothing but nothing.
The New York Public Library is also a great place.
It's nice, it's a beautiful Oh yeah that's free. Well
libraries a period, Yeah, that is true. But with the
library card you do have a lot of things you
can get into for free. So you should look online
and see what organizations they partner with. Yeah, I'm gonna
(28:07):
go today, all right, thank you?
Speaker 6 (28:10):
All right?
Speaker 7 (28:10):
You too?
Speaker 2 (28:12):
All right? Well that was ask ye eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty is a number just in
case you couldn't get through. You can always call up
leave a message. We'll answer your questions for you that way.
But in the meantime, we do have two special guests
joining us. They are from the premiere of the New
York version of The Impact, Bernice Burgos and Cleo Trappa
is way up with Angela.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
Yee.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
We're about to do this, yeah, y'all more way up
with Angela? Ye on? Now what what's up this? Way
up with Angela?
Speaker 5 (28:40):
Yee?
Speaker 2 (28:40):
I got Cleo Trappa and Bernice Burgos here, So now
y'all might be saying, what are these ladies doing here
together at the same time? And you guys are actually
starring in The Impact, the New York version of the show.
All right, now, Bernice, let's let's take it to you first,
because I've known you forever. I was saying, when I
met Bernice, she used to work at BB in the
(29:02):
mall sound. But that's a long time ago.
Speaker 15 (29:04):
A long time afar, like what eight years ago, nine
years ago?
Speaker 2 (29:08):
And Cleo Chappa is here. We just had you on
Lift Service.
Speaker 7 (29:11):
It was fun and you killed it.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
And you actually have a new single that's about to
drop really soon on the nineteenth, right on the.
Speaker 13 (29:17):
Night we gotta Fixed day now, because remember I was
trying to drop it a week after the interview, but
we had to switch things around and that was It's
coming together perfectly.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
So I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
I feel like it's good time and too because then
the show comes out on a twenty second so the
but the buzz is going. I'm excited. I did get
a chance to see the first episode, so y'all know,
I got some questions day you didn't see it yet.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
I'm really on it anyway.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Now, Bernice, this is your first time doing reality TV,
and I know people have been trying to get you
on the show, begging me. So what made you decide
the impact was the one for you?
Speaker 15 (29:53):
I basically I did it for Ashley. I did it
for my daughter. I didn't do it for me. It's good,
it's you know, it's calm, you know, given a little
you know, kim k.
Speaker 11 (30:05):
Like how we miss and what we're doing in the
house and when we cooking stuff like that, just regular
stuff and just knowing more about who is Bernie's Burgos okay,
and who is Ashley Marie Burgos too exactly?
Speaker 2 (30:17):
And Cleo Trafford. What made you decide, like how did
you get casted on the show? You from Staten Island,
you know, I got that, and.
Speaker 13 (30:23):
Well I heard they was looking for people to get
on the show and stuff, and somebody recommended.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Me, And yeah, you get a little spicy too already.
I know y'all haven't seen the first episode.
Speaker 13 (30:36):
For that episode, I mean, somebody asked me a question
that they shouldn't have asked me because it's none of
their business.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
And that's just that, Like, yeah, see that felt spicy
just now, all right, So let me ask you this now.
One thing we do see is gonna happen on the
show is that Ashley's father is on this show.
Speaker 10 (30:57):
How was that for you?
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Because I know you guys did not I don't.
Speaker 15 (31:00):
Even know why she did that. She didn't give me
any heads up, she didn't tell me anything. I said, Uh, girl,
don't be setting me up like this. You better be
letting me know what's going on.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
So you and have father don't have any real communication
with each other or.
Speaker 15 (31:13):
I don't have no beef with him?
Speaker 9 (31:14):
Yeah, just not.
Speaker 15 (31:15):
You know, That's it. It is what it is.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Okay, And Cleo Chaffick, what about your relationship with your dad?
How is that?
Speaker 14 (31:22):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (31:22):
My god, is so crazy?
Speaker 13 (31:24):
Because I thought I was going to get into it,
but I didn't really get to get into it because
I didn't want to go to Nigeria. But with all
like the filming and everything going on in my song,
I wasn't able to go.
Speaker 15 (31:34):
So is he proud of you?
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Like?
Speaker 2 (31:35):
What's your communication? We don't talk at all.
Speaker 13 (31:38):
I've only spoken to him probably like a couple of
years ago, and before that it was like dead silent.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
But I wonder what it's going to be like when
you finally do you know, make it out there, and
what is making you feel like you want to do that?
Speaker 13 (31:51):
Well, because he's old, I don't want him to pass.
And I just I haven't seen my father since I
was three kind of things. But I don't give too
much credit to him about so anything because I haven't
seen him that long.
Speaker 15 (32:02):
I give it to my mom one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
She raised me. And you listen, and I told you
this before the protect your Net freestyle as you did,
and you reference your dad when I tell you, I
was like, get my girl, Cleo trap up. That's you know,
the bra was right now, but that was real, you know.
I just bring this up because we got to think
about those type of relationships. Like you said, you didn't
know why I actually, you know, decided to do that.
(32:25):
What was your relationship like with your own father too?
As we think about like he.
Speaker 15 (32:29):
Was there but not there, you know. But I'm not
that type of girl that I let him affect my life.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
You know.
Speaker 11 (32:36):
I just keep on going and I'm just happy to
have somebody in my life at the time when I
needed him. You know, he wasn't there with a lot
of things, but he was there having a roof over
my head, clothes and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Sometimes I think we feel like things don't affect us,
but really it does due yeah, you know, because we
tried so hard to act like all right, I still
did this, I still made this happen.
Speaker 11 (32:58):
But then I don't let it affect me, right because
if I do let things affect me like that, I'm
gonna go.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Left, all right. Bernice Burgos is with us, and so
it is Cleo Trapper. They'll be on the premiere of
The Impact New York that starts on January twenty second
on VAH one, and we have more with.
Speaker 6 (33:14):
Them when we come back more Way Up with Angela
on now.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
What What's up?
Speaker 7 (33:22):
Is?
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Way up with Angela Yee? I'm Angela Yee. And we
are talking to Bernice Burgos. Y'all know Bernice, And we're
also talking to Cleo Trapp as super talented. Can't wait
for her rock star song to come out as ap. Now, Bernice,
you were fifteen when you had when you had Ashley?
So what was that like? Just raising a child when
you were basically so young.
Speaker 15 (33:42):
You don't do it, guys, Please don't.
Speaker 13 (33:46):
Not to say it like that, but being a baby,
having a baby, it's like the hardest thing ever. Like
I missed graduation, I miss you know, I went to school,
but it wasn't the same. You know, everybody's looking at you.
Everybody's just like, you know, I have a baby face. Now,
imagine me when I was fifteen, I was like I
was probably ten. But it taught me how to be
(34:08):
a grown woman at a young age. It taught me
how to be responsible. It taught me how to do
the things that I need to do for my family,
for my daughter. So I just kept on going.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
How was it for you even telling your family back then?
Speaker 15 (34:20):
Oh my god, it was it was hard. I didn't
know what to do. I didn't know if I want
to take it out, who was going to come with me?
To the abull shit. I just didn't know.
Speaker 11 (34:29):
I was just being grown looking for love in the
wrong places. And I thought, like, you know, having a
boyfriend and having sex, it was like a fairy tale, right,
you don't think about it. Think you would get pregnant
in two minutes, right, you know.
Speaker 15 (34:46):
Two minutes.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
It wasn't even not like ten minutes.
Speaker 15 (34:51):
You could get pregnant that easy. It's like first time
got pregnant.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
Boom.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
I'm like, because, think about that. At fifteen, we don't
know what we're doing.
Speaker 15 (34:58):
Actually it's the only job. No, she has another daugh.
I'm sorry, she's eighteen.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
People always say that you're a grandmother also because Astley
has a five.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Year old right right.
Speaker 11 (35:08):
I had my daughter young, my mom had us young.
I'm like, well, I don't want to be your grandmother.
Speaker 15 (35:13):
It was in my thirties.
Speaker 11 (35:14):
She was like, girl, you sa grandma, Like you see
how that feels.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
I'm like, ahh.
Speaker 11 (35:20):
She said, this is what happens when you have kids early,
gonna be a grandmother or grandfather.
Speaker 15 (35:25):
This is what happens. I was like, I didn't know.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Right now, I'm talking to Bernice Burgos and Cleo Trappa
from the Impact New York. Now, Bernice, has anybody ever
proposed to you?
Speaker 14 (35:34):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (35:35):
And what happened?
Speaker 8 (35:37):
No?
Speaker 11 (35:37):
You said no, yeah, because you're not going to propose
to me when you messed up.
Speaker 15 (35:43):
We're not doing that.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
It was a real proposal with a ring or was it?
Speaker 15 (35:47):
Like we have to ring? And he was like, would
you take this ring? I said no, don't let me
see it though.
Speaker 11 (35:54):
Let me see and then you know, and I'm like, no,
I can't right now.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
I would love to see what it looks like. We
have a drooler right here, if anybody else.
Speaker 15 (36:06):
Twice it was twice. No, it was my baby father
and my ex boyfriend.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Yep, I cannot wait to see because I did, Like
I told you, guys, get a chance to see the
very first episode and we saw. We saw the super trailer.
Let me say, you're not on it that much, just
like the first episode about because just like you requested,
I will say. In the first episode, it's like a
gathering at Ella's place. Okay, I wasn't there. Yeah, you
(36:32):
definitely were not there, and Astie was there with her popcorn.
Just because I feel like.
Speaker 15 (36:36):
That's their friends.
Speaker 11 (36:38):
I'm my own group of friends that I'm a vibe
with like actually comes with me.
Speaker 15 (36:42):
It hangs out with me with my friends, like they
all be like, let me get your Instagram, let me
get this. No, no, no, I'm like, oh, so you
blocked me, but you got all my friends.
Speaker 14 (36:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 15 (36:53):
She would be going through her little ups and down.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
She be getting mad, She'll be getting mad be blocked me.
Speaker 15 (36:58):
I'm like, so you blocked me, So I can't see
your close friends. No, cause you're always judging me. I say, girl,
but you're gonna keep my friends because they're gonna call
me like did you see us?
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Yeah, cause you gonna know anyway, regardless, I'm gonna know.
She did say she don't like the guys that you date.
Speaker 15 (37:13):
And I don't like her, and I don't like her.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
But her reason was she was like, I want somebody
that's gonna give my mom the world. She said. My
mom does not have to lift a finger. She deserves
to have everything.
Speaker 15 (37:25):
She can't say that people I date they will give
me the world they have, But it's me. I love
to work.
Speaker 11 (37:31):
If I could be married right now and my husband
could be rich as hell, I'm working all right.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Well, listen, I know y'all don't have no idea. What's
going on on the show. So we're all gonna be
watching January twenty second, nine pm on VH one, say
and I cannot wait to watch y'all ladies.
Speaker 15 (37:46):
I know me too. I'm gonna be my popcorn like.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
All right, well, listen, way up in these burgos, clear trapper,
make sure y'all follow them, make sure you watch the impact.
Like we said VH one on a twenty second, y'all
are gonna love it. And I got that phot interview
on my YouTube channel Way Up with ye And when
we come back, we have the last word.
Speaker 6 (38:03):
Pack up the phone, Tapian to get your voice heard.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
What the word is the last word on Way Up.
Speaker 6 (38:11):
With Angela Yee?
Speaker 2 (38:12):
What's up his Way Up with Angela Yee? I'm Angela Yee.
And Jasmine Brand is here yep. I see this breaking
news sexual assault and trafficking complaints against Nick's owner James
Dolan from ten years ago in a lawsuit in California.
They have included him in this paperwork. They're saying that
he allegedly sexually assaulted and trafficked a messuse.
Speaker 4 (38:33):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
And he's mentioned alongside Harvey Weinstein. He's accused of manipulating
and isolating the plaintiff, Kelly Croft, into a sexual relationship
in twenty thirteen when she was invited to serve as
the messuse for the lead singer of the Eagles. Oh
my goodness, and they said he was a significant source
of funding for the tour at that time.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
Oh my goodness. It's serious.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
Oh my gosh. Irving as Off is also listed in
the lawsuit. Well, anyway, we'll find out more information on
this y by tomorrow and make sure that you guys
have everything. Yes, but that is absolutely ridiculous. You know,
she describes unlawfully being trafficked for Dolan's own sexual gratification.
If you read this complaint, I don't even want to
