Speaker 2 (00:13):
In his way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
With me today.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
I'm back in the building, y'all.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
You know, the Grammys were on last night, and Chris
is like the entertainment expert. You see him on MSNBC.
You see him on NBC also founder or pop viewer.
So times like this, I.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Like to have you up here.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
I'm mad to have you here anytime.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
I mean, but this was this was my night last
night like this was this was like the mususpicous night.
And for me, as an entertainment person, I was a
junkie waiting for us to happen, like waiting for my fix.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Okay, well good, you got to pick them. We're gonna
talk about that, uh this morning.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
But just some really great moments, you know, we're going
to talk about what people had on.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Uh, some of the big winners for the night.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Some of the people like jay Z had some things
to say about the Grammys. Drake had some things to
say about themis by the way, Blue Ivy is beautiful, beauty,
she's so tall, twelve years oh, my she just turned twelve,
but it's just wild. All right. Well, we'll get the
show started, but in the meantime, that's what we're doing already,
spreading some love and positivity. Eight hundred two nine two
(01:16):
fifty one fifty is the number. Call us up. Let's
spread some love. Let's shine a light on some people.
Chris Witherspoon is here with me guest co hosting all
day and we'll be talking about the Grammys.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
It's way up.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Turn your lights on. Y'all are spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
Light on, shine a light on. It's time to shine.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
A light on them, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. It's way
up with angela ye, and it is time to shine
a light now. It is Black History Month, yes here,
and Chris Witherspoon is guest hosting with me today and
I want to shine a light on Columbia Savings and
Loan Association. This is a bank that's actually turning one
hundred years old this year. Was found out on September
(02:01):
twenty fourth of nineteen twenty four. So the bank is
a Libra. But according to the vice president, now Mackenzie
is the vice president of the bank. Right now, he said,
you can imagine that a black owned business in the
US was not a welcome thing, not a loan, a
black owned bank. The reason that the Hallyards who started
the bank started it was because they understood we didn't
(02:23):
have access to funds at regular banks and financial institutions
at the time. Now, as this bank is celebrating one
hundred years, do you know how many black owned banks
we have in the nation?
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Oh, my god, probably less than one hundred.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
In my mind forty one, only forty one in the nation.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
All right, So we want to shout out to Columbia
Savings and Loan Association in Milwaukee.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Now, who do you guys want to shine a light on?
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty MJL, Who
do you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 6 (02:50):
I want to sign a light on you, Antler. I
appreciate what you did for me. I called in just
to kind of ask your advice about how to start
my book this is and get it running. The fact
that due to the time I can say they do.
Will let me talk on your soul and then you
sign off. My Instagram. My Instagram started up popping people
at least two hundred people, and it just means a
lot when somebody on your level take time out for
(03:12):
somebody like me. And I just wanted to sign a
light on you. I've been listening to you for about
fourteen years since going to Breakfast Club, watching you move
and grow, and it motivates women like me to know
that that really miss a lot to me. It gave
me the boost of confidence that I needed as a motivation.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Se Mja is a rotic author, and so you do
still have the obligation to call in and read us
a little passage.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
We're gonna give you this a little time for that, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Once I get my website done and everything wants you
tolift dot com, what's us popping and all of that,
I'm gonna calls you back so I can do that
epslot because I wanted to be right and tight when
I called back like.
Speaker 7 (03:52):
That, Hey my day, and I just thank you.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
I love you so much. I'm a continue to watch
you and follow you, and I'm gonna be on slip
service one day.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Okay, Mjanna. I like how you said right and tight.
That was very erotic, exactly all right? I love you.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
Thank you first, thank you.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
That's great, great you too.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
All right, Well that was Shina light. Eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty is a number in case
you couldn't get through. And when we come back, we
have your yee t And of course we got to
start it off by talking about the Grammys. We'll discuss
what some people have to say beforehand, and then some
of the big moments for the night, some big congratulations
in order.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
It's way up.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
It's way up. And Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee and
Chris Witherspoon founder are pop viewers.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Yeah, what's up y'all in the building and listen.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
He's gonna be so helpful right now as we talk
about these Grammys in yet. I don't know if we'll
get through everything right now, but let's get it started.
First and foremost, Killer Mike. He was escorted out of
the Grammys and handcuffs. He did win three awards Rap Album,
Rap Performance, Rap Song, So shout out to him for that.
And here was his speech, which we didn't get to
see because it wasn't Airli tell me you get you.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
Oh you can't tell me.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
It's too late. You can't tell me, jez.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
He was hyped up, Yes he was, and well deserved
for him to be able to get these awards. And
by the way, they said he has been released. He's
been tweeting, but he hasn't addressed this yet, but allegedly
they're saying there was some type of altercation with a.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Security and props to this reporter from the Hollywood Reporter
named Chris Garner who got the video footage. Sometimes out
these videos, these things they don't take on the I
think this theme that they need until you see it. Yeah,
and like we get to see him walking out a
black man after winning three awards handcuffed.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
All right, Well, some highlights of the night. Victoria Monet,
congratulations her. You know I love me some Victoria Monee.
She was nominated for seven Grammy's one three, including Best
New Artists and R and B Album, And here's what
she said on stage.
Speaker 8 (05:50):
I just want to say to everybody who has.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
A dream, I want you to look at this as
an example. Thank you God for this award.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Was a fifteen year pursuit.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
And she's written for so many big artists. It was
great to finally get her to, you know, receive her flowers. Yeah,
and then she had a long speech and you let
her go. She was like, hold on, hold on, had
the folder at the studio someone found.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
But listen. I've known Victoria Mane for a long time,
from when she was on Atlantic Records. I actually hosted
her listening party back then, and I always was like,
she's amazing, like super super talented.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
So it's beautiful spirit. I love seeing her spirit on
that stage.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
And her and Ariana Grande, they had the moment where
they was on the FaceTime so we had a chance
to see some of that now, says I was also
a big winner for the night.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Sis was the most nominated.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Artist nine nominations and she got.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Three of those awards Best R and B Song, Urban
Contemporary Album Duo.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
And here's what she had to say on the stage.
Speaker 7 (06:51):
I'm just I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
I'm just really over.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
You don't really understand.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
I came really, really far and I.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
Can't believe this is happening and it feels very fake
and I'm high, Taylor.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
I'm just very grateful.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I'm not an attractive crier. Have a good evening, she said, Hi.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Taylor, And she's just so authentic. I think that's why
young folks love her so much. She's so disintegrated and real.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
She almost missed a moment too, She had to come
running run off. She was chasing her clothes.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Lizz Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah, and she met Lizoe a while ago, she said,
And since she shouted out Taylor's Swift, Taylor Swift was
of course on that stage, letting you know thirteen is
her lucky number, by the way, my lucky number two.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Oh I know that.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Okay, My birthday's January third, so you know.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
But she gave some big news.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah, she broke some news.
Speaker 7 (07:39):
Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
A new album coming out on in April. I believe
it's called what's it called the Poets Here?
Speaker 9 (07:43):
She says it by telling you a secret that I've
been keeping from you for the last two years, which.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
Is that my brand new album comes out April nineteen.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
It's called The Tortured Poets Department.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
She's such a brilliant Mark to take that moment and
to reveal you have a new album when you were
already on top. You are winning, says.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Listen, you have to do super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (08:08):
What more contailed to do this year?
Speaker 5 (08:10):
Girl?
Speaker 1 (08:10):
You took last year?
Speaker 2 (08:11):
You want this year again and Trevor Noah hosted and
he did make a joke about your listen. She didn't
mind that one.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
But also she was like the biggest star in the
room by far, I feel last night, and she still
seems so personable. And they wisted in and they wist out.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
We're gonna talk about that later to we're gonna talk
more about this. We'll talk about jay Z and what
he had to say. Yes, when we come, and we
also have to do about last night. You know what,
we'll put some of that in about last night since
we were watching the Grammys last night. We'll talk a
little bit about jay Z his speech, and we'll talk
about what Drake had to say before the awards, some
other really big moments. Nicki Minaj. They accidentally tweeted out
(08:50):
that she won an award. I will tell you the
fallout from that. Missed that part I got you last night.
In the meantime, let's hear a sound that used to
be my favorite song. I still love this song every
time I hear it. Here is Jeremiah shout out to Chicago.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Please, It's way up.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
So about last night last night, last night.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Desi went down.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
It's way up at Angela Ye.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
I'm Angela Yee, and Chris Witherspoon is here with you
founded Pop viewers, and we're talking about Grammys because that's
what we both did last night.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
I mean, and those also a really good show last night.
Sometimes you're a little mid this time, it was like
good to watch and even better talk about like so
much Una.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Well, let's talk about jay Z because we didn't even
get to that. He got up and you know he
got the big award that Doctor Dre.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Global Impact Wars. Yeah, the Global.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Impact Award, and so here is what he had to
say during his Spain. He brought Blue Ivy on stage.
Beyonce was in the audience. Blue Ivey is beautiful. I
loved her outfit.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
She an't even want to go to she was up
on stage. Here's what jay Z said.
Speaker 10 (09:55):
Obviously it's subjective because you know it's music and it's
opinion based, but you know some things. I don't want
to embarrass this young lady. But she has more Grammys
than everyone and never won album in a year. So
even by your own metrics, that doesn't work. Some of
you gonna go home tonight and feel like you've been
robbed some of you don't belong in a category.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Who No, When I get.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
Nervous, I tell the truth.
Speaker 10 (10:17):
But outside of that, we got to keep showing up.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
That made Kanye trend though, because people were like, he.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Just he's doing a Kanye moment. Yeah, but I was
proud of him. It's really appalling to Beyonce. He's the
most Gramming winning artist of all time, thirty two Grammy
Awards she's won over the course of her career, but
never Album of the Year.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
And you see Taylor get it for a fourth time
last night and says so wild to me.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
And they still show up though.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Then they still show up and they put butts in seat.
That's the other part. Black culture is culture right now.
So whenever beyond saying jay Z pull up all of
the world tunes in and that's what they whisk in
and they whisk out because they make the show rate,
but they don't get the big award. That's really problematic
to me.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Yeah, And you know, and speaking of black people who
made this show, Coca Jones won for Best R and
B Performance. You were saying off the air you loved
Fantasias Mary Or.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
That was a powerful moment Oprah introducing her, and Oprah
and Tina Turner were really good friends. It was the
perfect sort of I think redemption for Tina Turning tribute
that we needed from because Patti La Bell didn't want
to give it to us and she performed. But to me,
Fantasia tore it up. And Tracy Chapman and Luke colmb's
that fast car you what. I love that song? That
was powerful too. Miley is doing flowers with that hair,
(11:29):
that crazy hair.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
You realize that I've heard that song so many times.
I never realized it was her that sings it.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Oh yeah, sh And if you guys noticed last night
she was wearing this this silver dress. She was trying
to also pay tribute to Tina Turner. That's when her hero.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
I said, that's funny, and that was the first Grammy
she's ever won in her career. Now Drake, before the
Grammy's broadcasted, he went on social media and he said,
congrats to anybody winning anything for hip hop, but this
show doesn't dictate ish in our world.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
It's so true though. I mean again, jay Z years ago,
he was nominated for like eight or nine nominations and
he didn't win one of them.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yeah, that's wild. And this was the first ever time
they had an afrobeats performer. Burna Boy performed too.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
And Brandy came out.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
And the last thing I want to say is they
mistakenly on the Grammys page named Nicki Minaj and Ice
Spice as winners for Best Rap Song, but then they
deleted the post and put up the real winner. So
that happened on I don't know, but that is awful
because you know then Barbes was like, this was going
to well that.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Is your about last night.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Now we have tell us a secret when we come
back eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty call
us up again. It's no judgment. You can tell us
a secret. Yeah, anything, anything, everything you will.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
There's no shame. It's way.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
What's up as way up?
Speaker 2 (12:51):
But Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee and Chris Witherspoon, the
founder of Pop Viewers, but you also know him from
MSNBC NBC as the entertainment consultant. We're here today talking
all things Grammys, but we're also listening to your secrets.
Come on, yeah, Chris really want to hear your secrets.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Not love this. I love this a no judgment zone.
We need more spaces like.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
This, absolutely, although I can't help what people are going
to do when these secrets come out online. Eight hundred
two nine to fifty one fifty Anonymous color tell us
a secret.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
My secret is that I eat apples.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Mayonnaise, Apples and mayonnaise. What made you start doing that?
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Does anybody judge you over this?
Speaker 11 (13:32):
Like?
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Is this like closet heat in the.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
Child?
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Or can you eat these? Yeah? Yeah, my mother does
very bad. Watch some advice for you. Go make a
TikTok video of this, because TikTok loves weird things. You
will go all the way viral. You will have the
mayonnaise apple.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
I'm gonna say something though, just so you know that
this isn't as weird as you think. Not mayonnaise, but
I love a green apple and chetta cheese sandwich.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Okay, how do you do that? You cut the apple up?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
I'm gonna lie mayonnaise, but yeah it probably I don't
eat mayonnaise because my stomach, but if you put mayonnaise
on it, that probably would taste good. Chetda cheese, green
apple and then I guess for you a mayonnaise sandwich.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
I would do mine with some spicy mustard.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
I might try both of these tomorrow. Like you guys
are inspiring me, Here we go.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
We just listen.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
My advice to you again, don't be shy, don't be closeted.
Come out about this. Go on tiktokis you will. You
will get you a big old following with these mayonnaise
apple moments. Do it, do it.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
I can't wait us at us. I think mayonnaise gets
a bad rap too. It's serious, all right, thank you,
Hey anonymous, Carla, how are you doing today? Good? It's
me and Chris Witherspoon, and we are not gonna judge you.
We just want to hear your secret.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
Yes, all right.
Speaker 11 (14:52):
So to get to the point, when I was in college,
I was a residential advisor. I had a key to
all the master keys. I lost that key for three days.
I stayed up, had no idea what I was going
to do, because if I told them, I was going
to get kicked out of school, get charged ten thousand dollars,
and possibly some more worse stuff would happen. So I planned,
(15:13):
and I had my buddy beat me up a little bit,
and I faked the robbery, said that they stole my
car keys and that that key was on there. I
got to stay in school and I graduated.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Let's go okay, And you had to ail for it?
Speaker 3 (15:25):
Said, how do you know what the like?
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Because being an ra Yeah, it's definitely like a job,
and you know, within school, and it's a selfless job
because you're in charge of everybody. How do you know that.
I'm sure people have lost that key before. How do
you know that's what the punishment would have been. They
told you that we.
Speaker 11 (15:42):
Had never seen it happen before, so I didn't want
to be the first one to find out.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Wait then, can we be romilly fast? How did you
go about getting your friend to beat you up? Like?
What did that enil? That he punched him in the face.
Speaker 11 (15:50):
Oh, he's a real close friend of mine. I could
call him anytime I need him. He was actually a
bit of a mixed martial arts fighter. We didn't want
to do it. I called him some names out of character.
Finally he punched me in the face a few times,
and then I went back to school and said, I
got roughed up.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
I don't want to watch the video of that. Yeah,
see how that went down?
Speaker 2 (16:09):
And what did you say it was?
Speaker 5 (16:11):
He got the video?
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Okay, we need the video now.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
All right, Well listen, he got to stay in school,
no harm, no foul, and thank god nobody found that
key and broke into everyone's dorm.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Oh my god.
Speaker 11 (16:22):
Absolutely, I think it's somewhere in my aunt's house, honestly.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Okay, well, hopefully your aunt doesn't hear this and say, oh, let.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Me go see if this key works. All right, Well,
thank you for coming.
Speaker 11 (16:33):
Awesome, all right, thank you guys for having me caull in.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
I appreciate y'all.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
No problem.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
See that wasn't too bad.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
That wasn't bad at all.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
All right, Well, that was tell us a secret. And
when we come back, we have your yee te and
let's talk about j lo on S and L. I mean,
there were some behind the scenes things happening and we
will address it.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
It's way up shore.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
She's about to blow the lead abof this, but let's
get it. Angela's feeling that yeeze, come.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
And get to Tea all right, way, yeah, but Angela yee,
I'm Angela Yee And my guy Chris Witherspoon is here.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
What's up, y'all? What up?
Speaker 3 (17:05):
And let's get into some yet all right.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
First off, and these are all things that by the way,
me and Chris have been discussing. Iowa Debouris and j Lo.
That was live, all right. Iowa Debouree's an actress. You
know her from The Bear. She's also a writer and
voice actor on Big Mouth. Just to FYI, and there
is a resurface clip of her on the Scam Goddess podcast.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
This was in twenty twenty. Here's what she said today.
Speaker 9 (17:29):
I was actually thinking about one of my favorite scams
of all time because Jlo is performing at the Super
Bowl halftime. She is, which is a scam in itself
and in her whole career is one long scam.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Ooh, my grandted. She was twenty four years old here, okay.
But the irony is that she hosted SNL this past
Saturday with j Loo in the building, and I know
she was just like, oh my god, is this really happening.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
There were some awkward moments, like at the end because
Jlo performed with Lotto Yes, and Redman was there and
she had to stand in between. I mean j Lo
and laudo and they look like they wouldn't know.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
No, there was the vital language was saying that it
was not giving, but also that that whole sketch that
they tried to do where Io was basically trying to
apologize in this sketch, but she never came out and
said j Lo right.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
So the sketch was why'd you say it a game show?
And here's what happened on SNL. We get it.
Speaker 8 (18:18):
It's wrong to leave main comments or post comments just
for cloud, or run your mouth on a podcast and
you don't consider the impact because you're twenty four and stupid.
But I think I stay for everyone when I say
from now on, we're gonna be a lot more thoughtful
about what we post online.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
But you know, at the end of the day, she
is a comedian, she's a stand up comments, so you
gotta keep in mind, j Low it was just a joke.
There might have been a little bit truthing there.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
It's very sensitive.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
And she said that about about people saying that she
can't sing.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
That is true things about her career.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
She sang her tail off on SNL that mic was on.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Okay, but let's talk about what did happen. There was
a malfunction.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
The track fell out. You guys, she was wearing a weed.
It was a weave, and the track was popping in
terms of the music. But at a certain point she
was singing so intensely that her track fell out of
her head. It fell on the ground. I kept my
eye on it the whole entire time.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
But she ripped out that hair extension.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
But then met the Man came out. It was a
good performance. So Redman a Redman, my man, but it
was a good performance. Redman came out. Who else there
were someone else's she performed for that song Lotto, Yes,
that was a great performance, all right, now live.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Yes, And speaking of singing, live another person who we
love Candy Burriss. After fourteen seasons, she's calling it raps
y'all on Real Housewives of Atlanta, She's tote variety on
the red carpet at the Grammys this.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
I decided I'm not coming back this year.
Speaker 12 (19:40):
They allowed us to sit around for a little too
long because it was making a decision. But during that
time I had start working on a lot of other things,
and I got some nice, big projects coming soon. But
it's not just that it's just like, you know, after
you really have time to think. And a friend of
mine was like, why do you keep doing it? And
I was like, well, I think because I've just been
doing it, so I just it just feels weird to.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Think not to do it. Listen, I'm amost surprised here
because Candy is a is a businesswoman and she's about
her coins and her checks and that check. It's not
just the money you get from being on the show.
It's the money you can make promoting your businesses on
the Real Housewives. And Kenny has that platform.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Going on, and she's had a lot of other shows
with Bravo too.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
So that's interesting.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Yeah, so maybe she has some other things that she's like,
you know, she's doing a revival of The Wiz, she's
co producing that, and so she might just feel like,
you know what, I'm getting so much money other places.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
And we've learned you can always come back. They will
always bring you back on that show if you want to.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
And then Kenya Moore, by the way, speaking of people
who have no problem coming back, here's what you have
to say.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
When she was on a big ticket.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
She talks about herself and she also talked about Nini
Leaks possibly returning.
Speaker 5 (20:48):
You look forward to returning real?
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Do you know what if it's in my future to return,
I do.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Look forward media training.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Do you look forward to Nini returning?
Speaker 2 (20:58):
If that will be a pop ability for the real?
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Door is closed?
Speaker 3 (21:02):
You think it's closed. You sue your employer.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
What do you expect to happen?
Speaker 5 (21:06):
That is true?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
You guys, Niini sued Bravo, So it's gonna be hard who.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Have sued and worked right at that job after they
So that happens in radio like it definitely will you know?
Speaker 1 (21:16):
I mean, well, I think Niini to me, if they
brought her back, the show would have this more longevity.
She was the show to me, Niini and she never
got a spin off, which is also crazy.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Yeah, I don't know egos though sometimes well we never know.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
You never know.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Anything can happen. And that is your Yieti. When we
come back, we have under the radar. These are the
stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. They are
flying under the radar. And I want to talk about
the world's first cyber brothel. It's an Ai brothel. All right,
we'll discuss this. Is that cheating it's way up.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
It's in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar, all.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Right, it's way up at Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee.
And Chris Witherspoon is here with me today Happen at
Time with You Me too. He's the founder of pop Viewers,
but you also see him as the entertainment correspondent on
the Today Show MSNBC NBC and all of that. And
I'm about to give you some under the radar stories. Now,
this I thought was really interesting. Berlin has the first
(22:16):
ever Cybe brothel. It's the world's first AI brothel using
virtual reality sex dolls. Okay, I love the way that
my board up. Navy's looking at me because he looks
like he wants to go to Berlin. But in there
there's life sized dolls instead of human sex workers. And
so they have right now Bimbo Koqueshi and co. They
can't move or speak, but clients can interact with them
(22:38):
and the virtual realm. So you put on a VR headset,
you get to watch immersive four D porn with your
favorite sex spot. You can also sext with the dolls
AI persona. There's an AI language model that's also built in.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
And there you have it.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
I mean, my biggest question, because I'm not giving this
story all the way side, it's kind of interesting. Actually
how do they clean the dolls though? Because I imagine
it's a lot going on. Yes, yeah, when people do
the do well, they do this, So this is AI.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
So I don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
The reason they're saying this isn't going to be a
long term thing is because there is no touching right now.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
It's VR.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
So you put on the VR and the dollar is
in the room, but there's like a whole VR thing happening.
Oh okay, so is that cheating if your significant others?
Speaker 1 (23:28):
That's a good question.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Going to the cy brothel to hang out with some
AI do.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
First off, I want to know. I need the video.
I gotta know what went on one. I don't know,
but it probably it probably a healthy way to cheat,
actually a healthy cheating.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
I don't know, because remember when people are doing the
whole SIMS thing where they had like a whole other
like family and the virtual world and they had like
a house and everything.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Oh see, that is cheating, actually a whole other virtual wife.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
No, all right, well that is your under the radar. Now,
we do have some guests joining us today. Shanty is
going to be here. You know him, well, he has
a new workout dig Deeper that he does. Yes, and
quite an interesting conversation we're gonna have with Shawn t.
But I mean, he's been really really popular on the
workout scene for a couple of decades now. And we
got the way it mixed at the top of the hour,
(24:15):
let's go just like the talk like.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
A Angela Jean like they Angela Jean Man.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
She's spilling it all.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
This is yet, Well, it's way up at Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee and Chris Witherspoon is here.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Angela found out pop viewers. Now we have an update
on a story we did earlier about Killer Mike. He
has broken his silence on what happened at the Grammys,
why he was arrested.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
This is all after he won three Grammys.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
The LAPD issued a statement saying on Sunday, February fourth,
just after four pm, a male adult was detained and
handcuffed for a physical altercation that occurred at the seven
hundred block of chick Hearn Court. That suspect was placed
under arrest and was transported to LAPD Central Division. He
was released clearly, and he spoke to Big Tigger and
(25:02):
here's what he said.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
God heart.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
So he's said they went back to party afterwards.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Yeah, and he called her a speed bump. I mean
to me, it's a bit more of a speed bump
getting you know, walked out of the arena in handcuffs, but.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
We were yelling free Mike.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Yeah. But he probably can't say too much also because
I'm assuming he might even press charges against the police department.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
You never know what right and he has to be
in court February twenty ninth from my understanding, so I'm
sure he's like, I'm not saying anything.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Keep it calm. I did win three Grammys.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Oh, there'd be a great opportunity to talk about this.
Like the press that he'll get from this, it's going
to be exceptional. Not that he did it for that.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
But yes, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Now, now here's some good news for Candice from Real
Housewives to Potomac. You know, she had this defamation lawsuit
that she was facing for Michael Darby, who is Ashley
Darby's estranged husband, and when she was on way up
with you.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Here's what she said about that law suit.
Speaker 9 (26:01):
There is as Okay, yes I can speak on him,
I just choose not to.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
He's not.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
I can't believe that's still going on. It's really gross.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
All right, well, I'm sorry to hear that. Do you
think Ashley is how does she feel about it?
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Has?
Speaker 9 (26:12):
She said, like, I don't know why he's She has
really taken a hands off approach. She says to me
that she knows nothing about it. They don't talk about it,
and I believe her.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
All Right, Well, that case has been dismissed and they're
saying that he signed a release to appear on that
show and it's a final judgment, so he cannot reassert
it's it's a dismissed with prejudice.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
It's just so crazy. Something that she said on the
show is something that he's suing her about. When when
did that become a thing that you sue folks with thisaination?
That's crazy?
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Yeah, so, and I don't know that that affected anything
that he had going on.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
But she's incredibly grateful.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
She said to God for protecting me, and she also
thanked her family and her incredible legal team. All Right,
now here is some some beef that people were always
speculating was happening, but has since been confirmed. People were
speculating that Ice Spice was addressing Latto in her song
(27:12):
you know, the very popular fart song.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Here's here's what was in the song.
Speaker 6 (27:18):
You're not even the thought I'll be going hot, I'm
breaking their hawks, like.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Should be quick, but I'm quicker.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
Should be but I'm think of she could be rich,
but I'm richel.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
All right, So that's not even it's about Well, she
went on Twitter space. Is it called Twitter spaces, Yeah,
Twitter spaces, I don't know if it's x spaces. And
here is Ice Spice confirming what that song was about.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Who it was about.
Speaker 12 (27:49):
I'm in the back of your weak ass nippet Like
that's literally so I.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Was like, wait a second, that's me.
Speaker 10 (27:57):
So I'm like, okay, since.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
We're talking about me, let's talk about and I dropped that.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
So this is all because when Lotto was posting a
clip she had Ice Spice in the background, it was
like a video playing inside of her sprinter, okay, which
could have been a coincidence.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Yeah, but by the way, this ain't over, I don't
think because Lotto was spoted this weekend in the Bronx
shooting a video with Jaelo. Yeah, but you never know
what she could be doing in the Bronx.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
I think that was very ironic to this.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
She was in the Bronx, but Jalo is from the Bronx,
and so that's why it really makes sense. All right, Well,
that is your uta, and when we come back, Chris
Witherspoon is here. He is the founder of Pop Viewers,
but you know him as the entertainment consultant on the
Today Show MSNBC NBC. And I want to get some recommendations.
I'm always trying to find things to watch on television.
You're the expert. We'll discuss when we come back. It's
(28:45):
way up more, way up with angel On now, it's
way up with Angela, Angela Yee and Chris Witherspoon is
here with me today. Founder of Pop Viewers, entertainment consultant
Jordanaire and I really need you here today because I
need some recommendations when it comes to what is on
(29:06):
these streaming services, what's in the movies, whatever, So it's
all covered.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
I got you go. Okay, So first off, what you
can watch right now? They will keep you visit. This
week is called Mister and Missus Smith. You guys, it
is on Prime video. This is Donald Glover. He is
back on the small screen again. You might know him
from Atlanta, but he's playing this role. This similar to
Brad Pitt's role in the film that came out in five.
So Brad Pitt, Angelin and Joe Lead. There are a
couple there spots. There's a lot of shooting. It's espionage.
(29:31):
It's very sexy. Yes that's where they met. But this
one's Donald Glover. And then this this Asian actress Maya Ergstein,
and they have great chemistry. It's drama, but it's also
a lot of action. And then next week Love Is
Blind season six okay, February fourteenth and five for Valentine's Day,
for everybody to be miserable if they're single. But I
(29:52):
watched the whole new season, you guys, Thank you Netflix.
They hooked me up at the preview row. You get
to watch all ten episodes and tell you it's drama.
There's so much drama this time. Last season was kind
of mid to me. It didn't really hit. This one
actually hits.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
They paid attention to what people said.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
About Yes, there's a beautiful black love story. It can't
go too much into the way, but I will tell
you that there's what I love about this There's there's
someone that gets away, someone that is not given the ring.
Who's you guys will fall in love with this character
who really plays a big role in the show. So
I'm like chomping at the bit to see what happens
because they left me with like a little bit of cliffhanger,
(30:29):
you know, don't we don't see the weddings right, and
then they.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
Remember they try to do like the live reunion and.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Yeah, but they raid it. Well, a lot of people
watched it. They brought like what is happening? I think
they like broke Netflix. Me's trying to watch it, but
definitely turn there for that, you guys. And then also
the Traders. I'm watching that right now. Season two Favorite
Parks steals the show. It's a competition series on Peacock.
It is so good. It's like each episode someone gets
killed off. But it's like all these reality stars that
(30:57):
you might know from down back in the day, and
it's hosted by Alan Coming so good, okay, and then
one is kind of kind of close to home from
you guys. I was a regular on the Wendy Williams Show.
Wendy was definitely a friend of mine, and the documentary
coming out Saturday, Saturday, February twenty fourth, and then Sunday,
the twenty fifth or two part documentary about her life
(31:18):
and where she is right now. It's called Where Is
Wendy Williams. I'll be hitting up Lifetime after this to
get a screen or we can watch it early.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Okay, good d I love that. All right, well, thank
you so much. See this is why Chris is amazing,
because I already now I want to be watching the Traders.
And another reason he's amazing is just like myself, he
gives great advice. Eight hundred nine two fifty one fifty
is a number if you have a question, if you
want some help from me, and I got Chris Witherspoon
here with me today. Take advantage, call us up. We're
here to help you out. Eight hundred two nine two
(31:45):
fifty one fifty. Ask you is next today?
Speaker 4 (31:47):
Everybody Since with it's relationship for career advice, Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 11 (31:52):
You should know.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
This is est what's up his way up with Angela?
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Yee I'm Angela Yee and Chris Witherspoon is here with
me today and it's time for ask Ye. That's where
you guys get to call in and we're going to
give you the best advice.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
And Chris is definitely somebody I would go to for advice.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Okay, I'm excited for this.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
All right, Well, Jasmine's on the line. What's up, Jasmine?
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Hire? And Sy?
Speaker 4 (32:12):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (32:13):
I'm good? How are you? You got a question for me?
And Chris?
Speaker 7 (32:17):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (32:17):
I do.
Speaker 7 (32:18):
I have an ex who is like constantly coming into
my life and I just need help navigating really how
to cut him off, Like he just finds multiple ways
of getting in contact with me.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
So you said he constantly keeps coming into your life,
but really you constantly let him into your life?
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Do you have a kid with him?
Speaker 7 (32:38):
By the way, No, I don't think.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
So. Why is it that you let him back in?
What is it about him?
Speaker 7 (32:47):
I feel like our connection is rare, so that's really
what keeps me going back, Like we've been dealing with
each other since nineteen and how old are you now?
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Twenty seven?
Speaker 3 (32:59):
Okay? Eight years? What is so? Why do you not
want him?
Speaker 5 (33:02):
Like?
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Why is it that you feel like he's not good
for you though, even though you have this really strong connection,
he's just.
Speaker 7 (33:09):
In another relationship.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
You know. My advice, You can have a change of relationship.
You don't have to look at him as your ex
boyfriend or look at him as someone that you want
to be with romantically. You can shift your whole mindset
around who he is. And maybe it's just a friend.
Maybe you guys do business together, there's something there to
your point, it's been eight years, but just stop looking
(33:30):
at him through the lens of love.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
When people show you who they are, you do have
to believe it. If he's in a whole other relationship
with somebody else and it's not you, then he's not
looking at you like you're the one for him. No
matter what he says. He may be looking at you
like you're his safety net. She'll always take me back,
and you don't want to be that always.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
And also I would say challenge him, like make him
take you out to dinner, make him do things that
make him uncomfortable, because that might make him run away.
Speaker 7 (33:58):
Those things. He comes into my life and he just
bears all these gifts and showers me with money, well.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
Or I say, take the gifts, take the money, but
keep them, keep them legs closed, and I would just
shift your whole relationship, make it more.
Speaker 7 (34:13):
About that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
You need to date somebody else.
Speaker 7 (34:18):
I have been dating other people, okay.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
But you don't like anybody because you're still hung up
on him coming back in and out your life. And
you can never really give somebody that full effort because
you are not sure if this person's going to come back,
so you always have that in your back pocket.
Speaker 7 (34:33):
That's true. This has given me a lot of clarity.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
You have to figure out what you allow. He's not
just coming back into your life. You're letting him back
in your life. And as long as you have that
going on, that's blocking you from being able to afford
a connection with somebody who really deserves it, and it
is going to give you your all. Of course, he's
given you money on gifts because he's not giving you
what it is that you really want our need from him,
and he feels like that's going to make up for it. Well,
I gave you this, Well I give her that, but
(34:58):
that's not enough. That's not what you need. It feels
like you really want somebody who's going to be there
for you.
Speaker 7 (35:03):
Yeah, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
All right, be accountable to Sometimes you don't want to
tell your friends that you tell them you got to
be like, don't let me talk to him.
Speaker 7 (35:11):
Yeah, I don't tell them because they already.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
No, right, because you're embarrassed, because you don't want to
let them know, because you know you wouldn't advise any
of your friends to do that.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
Think about they want the.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
Best for you, and use that block feature on you.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Thank you, Jasmine, all right, thank you? All right? Well
that was asked. Ye, eight hundred and two, nine fifty
is a number. And when we come back, Shanty is
gonna be joining me. You know him from Insanity, you
know him from hip hop apps. Now he has Dig Deeper.
That's his new workout that's out right now. And he's
also been competing when you see what he looks like now,
but he has an incredible story about how he got
(35:46):
to where he is.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
It's way up. Shanty is next.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
Oh you vibit way up with Angela Yee more, now.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (35:54):
It's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
I'm Angela Yee and y'all know how much I love
talking about health about fitness, but I don't really let
it work out.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
But Shanty is here with me today, let's go.
Speaker 8 (36:05):
You don't have no pressure in working out, you know
what I'm saying. It starts with just thinking about something
that you.
Speaker 5 (36:12):
Want to do.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
And you, Shanty, have had quite a journey just knowing
your whole story of how you got to where you
are today, where you the person that everybody knows from insanity,
you know, and also hip hop abs. But let's talk
about your history and how you even got there because
this is our first time, you know, sitting down together,
and so I just want people to know where you
came from.
Speaker 8 (36:33):
Well, I came from Camden, New Jersey. But you know,
I grew up with not a lot of money. So
I got a scholarship to college, which came with a
food card, and I could eat all the food I
wanted and I wasn't running track at the time, and
so by the time I got to my sophomore year,
I was fifty pounds heavier than when I.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
Left high school.
Speaker 8 (36:52):
As freshman fifty people had the freshman fifteen. I had
a freshman fifty. And then so what I did was
I was like, you know, I forget this. I looked Atror,
I was like, very unhappy with what I saw, and
I was just like, I'm just gonna hit the gym.
Speaker 5 (37:04):
I got on a treadmill. I ran for ten minutes
a day for a while.
Speaker 8 (37:07):
Then I went to the weight room, eventually starting to
love fitness outside of like track and field, because I
always played sports, so it was easy to be motivated
by like winning, but just internal motivation to want to
get better. That was a different strategy for me mentally.
And so I changed my major from communications to sports science.
And after I did that, I had to teach group
(37:28):
exercise classes. My very first class I promoted on the
college campus, and I thought it was gonna be like,
you know, fifteen twenty people come, Ninety people showed up.
So then from there I got into dance, and then
from dance, I got more into fitness, and then I
got was in the pharmaceutical industry, and I left that
industry because I wanted to be a professional dancer, moved
(37:49):
to la started teaching.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
Right now, I'm talking to professional bodybuilders, Shanti, And so
during that time, you also dated somebody who was not
very supportive of you.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
Yes, moving to La oh you know, yeah, and doing
your thing.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
And I want to talk about that because sometimes the
people around you and your circle can actually help dictate
whether or not you chase your dreams or feel like
I can't do this, you know, And that's an important
lesson too. So can you talk about before moving to
LA what that was like for you.
Speaker 8 (38:19):
I still have scars on my body from him throwing
plates at me and stuff like that.
Speaker 5 (38:23):
Yo, it was wild.
Speaker 8 (38:25):
So I just remember coming home from one of my
biggest choreography shows. I got so much like love and
support from the community.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
It was a few different cities that came to this theater.
Speaker 8 (38:36):
And I got home and I was just happy, and
I was in my bedroom and my boyfriend at the
time was like, I just want to let you know
you'll never be a professional dancer, and that was it.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
I did want you to talk about that because sometimes,
like you said, people are always like, oh, how could
you stay in an abusive relationship?
Speaker 3 (38:51):
But that was me.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
I would have did X, Y, and Z, And it's
not always easy to get yourself out of that situation.
And sometimes we also feel like maybe they're right.
Speaker 8 (39:00):
Oftentimes it comes to self confidence, self love, and it
also comes down to what you experienced as a child,
because I was sectually abused as a child from the
time I was eight to the time I was twelve,
and so I found this out.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
In therapy later.
Speaker 8 (39:14):
But what I found out was that my confidence was low,
and I felt that I deserved that kind of life.
So we oftentimes look at people who are getting abused
and we're like, oh my gosh, like if that were me,
And I'm like, you can't say if that were me,
because you're actually not in it, Nor do you know
what that person had to go through and what they
haven't worked through to be able to not make the
decision that you're saying you would make now.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
And so you know, I just tell people out there,
like give people.
Speaker 8 (39:39):
A little bit of credit, a little bit of space
to just like kind of work through that, and also
give them love and support instead of just judging them
for not making the quote unquote right decision, especially when
it comes to your physical abuse, but more importantly, to
be quite honest, the mental abuse is actually worse because
it scars you for much longer.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Right now, I'm talking to professional bodybuilders, Shanti.
Speaker 8 (40:00):
I'm just gonna be super candid here, so My abuser
was my stepfather. Now here's the crazy thing that a
lot of people don't know happens.
Speaker 5 (40:10):
So for me, once he stopped.
Speaker 8 (40:13):
That was like my first heartbreak because you think that
this person's going around saying they love you and like
you're their favorite child, and you're doing this and you're
protecting him by not telling.
Speaker 5 (40:23):
And so I used to do things like.
Speaker 8 (40:25):
When I knew he was coming upstairs, I would just
be in my underwear, like I would do those things.
Stockholm syndrome to a t. And nobody understands, like what
that's like. When I tell people that, they're like, what,
Like that's crazy, and I'm like the foundation of my
youth was that. And I weather the storm for that
because I thought I was protecting my brother who was
(40:46):
in the room next door. And I was like, oh,
at least he's gonna stop fighting with my mom so
I can take the brunt of this abuse and he's
gonna leave.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
My mom alone, all right.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Shante is here and he does go into a lot
of details. So you can watch the full interview on
my YouTube channel Way Up with Ye, But we have
more with Shanty, an American fitness trainer. You know, him
from Insanity Hip Hop Abs. Let's get up now he's
bodybuilding and competing and we'll talk to him more about that.
Speaker 4 (41:11):
It's way up, Faben, way up with Angela Yee more.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
Now what's up is way up with Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee and Sean t is here with me from
insanity from Hip Hop Abs. And now dig deeper as
we are watching people transform their bodies with ozembic and
all these other regovi and all these other medications. Clearly
that these are medications that have been around. People have
been using them doctors for diabetes and for other things.
(41:38):
But now people are using it because they want to
lose weight. But what are your thoughts about that? Because
I know you have to use those pretty much forever
for them to continue to work.
Speaker 8 (41:48):
I equate that to somebody who's getting breast in plants,
who's getting a Brazilian butt lift.
Speaker 5 (41:53):
Like these people are doing this for whatever reason.
Speaker 8 (41:55):
They need to do it most of the times confidence
most of the time it's something they don't like about themselves,
So it's helping them actually live a better quality of
life by thinking of themselves as a better person. This
just now happens to be a medication. The thing is
there's no support people are getting. It's like, here, take
this and it's a cosmetic drug, But are you actually
(42:16):
going to change the action that got you to the
place where you were unhealthy? Or are you taking it
because you have worked so hard and you you were
never able to lose weight and you were.
Speaker 5 (42:26):
Eating as best you can.
Speaker 8 (42:28):
So there's so many different variables for me to be like,
oh my gosh, like that's so dumb, Like I can't
believe people can do that.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
I'm like, look, it's your body.
Speaker 8 (42:36):
I can easily say like you shouldn't do that, like
you should work hard, like eat lettice.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
And I think it's hard when people do say, oh,
just work out and eat better, because that's if it
was that easy, we would all do it.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
It is not that easy, and no one I think
the female fall down.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Sometimes you gotta go.
Speaker 5 (42:51):
Down to go up.
Speaker 8 (42:52):
I think what's really really annoying about that entire process
is that we've all judged somebody on something, but actions temporary,
change is constant, so we have to stop focusing on
judging people. I just think that there needs to be
a bigger conversation around it because there's some people who
are taking it that they probably see that they don't
need to take it, and they would be much more
mentally healthy and more confident by doing it themselves.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Right now, I'm talking to professional bodybuilders shan Te, so
let's talk about dig Deeper and why you just decided
to develop this new program for people.
Speaker 8 (43:25):
I just realized that as I've gotten older, there's nothing
better than putting on muscle. The energy and where people
have to understand, especially women, because y'all say, oh, you know,
I'm gonna get bulky. I'm like, no, you're not going
to get bulky. It's not possible. However, you turn your
body into a fat burning machine the more muscle you have.
It's designed in three different phases or collections if you will.
(43:48):
And the first one is like these giant circuits that
just get your muscle sore. Then it goes into like
super set and time under tention where you gain more
control of your muscles, and then it goes to the
build phase. So dig Deeper is all I'm doing this.
I don't you need a bench in dumbells. You can
do it at the gym if you want. You know,
you can stream it and I take you through and
I'm telling you the results that people are having just
(44:09):
after thirty days, not weight loss, like body recomposition, just
seeing their body change.
Speaker 5 (44:15):
So people are so focused on weight loss.
Speaker 8 (44:17):
I'm like, focused on fat loss, and your body's going
to get smaller and stronger rather than focusing on losing weight.
Speaker 5 (44:25):
And you're losing muscle too.
Speaker 8 (44:26):
That's why just doing cardio, unless you really like it
or you're a marathon runner or something like that, it's
not really the thing that's going to give you the
max benefit, especially if you're just a quote unquote regular
person that's like, yo, you know, I'm a mom. I
gotta go to pick up my kids. Like, what can
I do to keep myself strong?
Speaker 5 (44:43):
Fine?
Speaker 8 (44:44):
Forty five minutes a day lift and do some cardio
after and the combination will be great.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
All right, well good, Well, I'm definitely gonna dig deeper.
I cannot wait to do this work out because I
am trying to be better and making sure that I
do some strength training because I know it's important for me.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
And how can people follow you and find you for fitness?
Speaker 8 (45:01):
You can follow me on Instagram and Facebook s H
A U N T if you want to get dig
deeper go to dig deeper nation dot com.
