How was your weekend, regular man? And your holiday? It
was a holiday weekend.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
I can't even keep up. Every day feels like groundhole day.
But I was living vicariously through you through Instagram.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Feet well, I didn't do anything on my Instagram. What
was I doing? I had a crazy weekend, right. You know?
Last week I reopened my juice bar in Brooklyn. So
it's called the Narish Spot b K. Yes, shout out
to Dawn and Jade.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
It's my favorite spot when I'm in Queens.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah. They own a place in Queens for the past
seven years. So now we're opened up in Brooklyn. Uh
So that's exciting. And you know I was getting ready
for the State of the District with my Congressman, Hakeem Jeffries.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
OK.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
So we have some things that film. There's a lot
going on. It's an election year.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Shirley chism over here, we.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Did channel Shirley Chisholm. You know she's from Brooklyn as well.
So shout out to Shirley CHISHLM. I think there's a
movie that they're working on. Yeah, Regina King, Yeah, about
her life, which is going to be fascinating. She's the
one that said, if you don't, if they don't give
you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair
or something like something along those lines, in your own chair.
We are the table. But anyway, we have so much
(01:25):
to go through. Today a Tuesday. It was All Star weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
It feels like Monday, still don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Because it was yesterday was a holiday, but it was
All Star weekend. So we'll talk about that. Everybody's coming
for sharing and sharp. I mean, so much to discuss,
but let's start it off with some positivity. Eight hundred
and two nine two fifty one fifty is a number.
Call us up. Let us know who you want to
spread some love to, who you want to shine a
light on. It's way up, machine.
Speaker 6 (01:50):
Turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Shut the light on.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
Time to shine a light on them?
Speaker 2 (02:02):
All right? Well, yeah, but Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee.
Beat out his hair, Yes, sir, and it's time to
spread some love and positivity.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
I know you love doing that spread of love.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
All right, Well, let's shine a light today on somebody
in Chicago. He opened a black owned vegan eatery. His
name is Dame Dia and he is the owner of
Native Foods. It's a vegan restaurant chain. He was born
and raised in Senegal. He's been in the food industry
for over fifteen years. He started working as a dishwasher okay,
(02:30):
and then help open Red Lobster restaurants in Times Square,
But to own his own Native Foods franchise is the
one hat that he's been wanting to do forever. He said,
When I first came to Native food a lot of
people thought I was the owner because everywhere I walk,
I take it as I own it, because I care
about what I do and what I can do for
the crew and the guests. That's why I'm so happy
to be the owner. So congratulations to him for having
(02:52):
that restaurant.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Started from the bottom for real.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yes, as a dishwasher, okay. So the address is two
eighteen South. It's a vegan restaurant chain once again, and
that is the only Chicago locations They have restaurants in Colorado,
California and more across the United States as well. So
congratulations to you, Dame Dia. It shows you can have
a dream and really work your way up. I'm hungry now,
(03:15):
he wants some vegan food.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Let's do it all right?
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Well, who do you guys want to shine a light on?
Eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty Hey, Kim,
how are you.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Hi? Good morning?
Speaker 2 (03:25):
How are you good morning? Or do you want to
shine a light on?
Speaker 7 (03:28):
I really want to shine a light on my mom.
She works for her public schools and she really goes
above and beyond for her kids. She takes them a chest,
takes them up if they need to rise, like. She's
just a really amazing teacher. So I have to tind
a light on her.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
That's dope. Shout out to your mom. You know how
important it is to have great teachers that could really
change the trajectory in a positive way.
Speaker 7 (03:54):
Yes, yeah, so shout out to you, mommy.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I love you all right, we love you, mommy. Thank
you for calling.
Speaker 7 (04:01):
Take care all right?
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Well that was shining light. Eight hundred two nine two
fifty one fifty is a number in case you couldn't
get through, you could always call us up and leave
a message. You know, we listened to those and play
you at the end of the show. And when we
come back, we have your yee te so much to
talk about. Some Beyonce news, and we've been telling you
this a lot late lately, some Benzino news. All right,
it's way up at Angela. Yee yea t is next,
they say in the rooms, from industry Shade to all
(04:26):
of gosp out.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
Angela's speeling that EyeT.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
It's way up at Angela. Ye I'm Angela yee beat
out his I'm.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Here, my do rags on extra tite this morning.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
I see when you take that off, you're gonna have
lines all your forehead. All right, well, let's get into
some yet glow Rilla. She was at NBA All Star
Weekend and she, I guess has a little crush on
Damian Lila and she posted on on her Twitter, I
guess x whatever you call it, who and where this is?
Because I want him get them glow and whoever she
(04:57):
is can't with me, so I really don't give.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
A f Well, Dame is divorce.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yes, Dame Dalla, and he's also a rapper, so they
can make beautiful music together. But I'm bump, okay, So
we'll see what happens if maybe he is responsive to that.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Okay, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
I know. All Star Weekend, how do you feel like
it was this year?
Speaker 3 (05:16):
I think it was kind of whack this year. Man,
maybe because I wasn't there, so I was hating on.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
The loan got to be whacked from outside the club,
all right. I did watch. I watched the three point
shooting contest. I watched the slam dunk contest. I did
not watch the actual All Star Game though, right.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I think that they need to be making a little
bit more competitive though, because everyone that seemed to be
like everyone's great this year. I think they should do
a one on one contest Game five. Put a couple
million dollars up on the board and see what happens.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
All right, Now, Beyonce's haircare brand, Sacred is coming. It's here.
People have been waiting for this to happen. You know,
it's been six years in the making, so it's coming. Uh. Wes,
Today's date, Let's see today's the twentieth Oh today, Okay,
February twenty at twenty twenty four. So now the weight
is over. So now you can see this line takes
inspiration from her mom, who she watched her mixed advanced
(06:08):
formulas with butters and oils for for hair health.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Can men use it too?
Speaker 5 (06:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Of course I think men should use hair products. You'll
just be using water and soap.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
I use pink lotion.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Okay, yeah, please use.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
This all right.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Now let's get into Benzeno on Drink Champs. This was trending.
Now Benzino has some things to say about Eminem. You
know clearly he doesn't like Eminem, never has right.
Speaker 8 (06:29):
Eminem broke in Cassidy will kill Eminem in a battle.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
Rap, Bro, why do y'all give Eminem so much prompts?
Speaker 8 (06:36):
Why why do y'all like him because he's white?
Speaker 5 (06:38):
That we don't listen to that in the hood.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Bro, that's a lie.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yeah, I don't know if that's I mean this do
sound a little haterish?
Speaker 9 (06:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Like Eminem? Other rappers like Eminem? Yes, people, I mean,
what can you do?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
He made staying to conscience, lose yourself.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
You cannot like him? Come on, but why are you
questioning why other people do? But then elsewhere in the interview,
he had a moment and he broke down, and maybe
he doesn't dislike Eminem.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
But none against somebody ever. Man can rap, but I
can't about us more. I won't go. I want to
talk about it no more.
Speaker 10 (07:13):
For twenty two years an interview, they asked me about Eminem.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
You want me to do? My daughter came into the
industry figuring that, hey, I gotta be cool because everybody's
against my dad. Oh man, we're failing as a people.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
And he responded to people like you. He made a
ton of him for crying. He said, I see a
lot of people laughing at Benzio crying. I don't find
that funny at all. I've seen killers get emotional and
start breaking down in tears. Crying to make you weak.
Crying is just a human emotion. Don't never get it twisted,
and animal will cry. Right before, he pushed your ish
back one. You know whenever people put that one hundred, yeah,
(07:52):
I mean business, business standing on business, okay, all right?
So he reposted somebody who wrote that and said, yeah,
sounds about rights. So that's for you, all right, and
that is your yut. We have more about this though,
when we come back for pick a side. But in
the meantime, about last night is next It's way up?
Speaker 5 (08:08):
N So about last night last night, last night zid
went down.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yes, it's way up at Angela yee, I'm Angela yee.
My guy beat out is here, yep. What did you
do last night?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Whole lot of nothing.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
For this weekend because we had a holiday weekend.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
I was looking at everyone else's Instagram hating because I
wasn't in Indianapolis for All Star weekend.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
But you watched a lot of the activity going on
All Star Weekend.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Yeah, I saw the action that was going down.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
All right. Well, I'm finally caught up on Sisters. Listen,
I watched all seven season. We're season seven now, so
I'm all caught up on that.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
So now I gotta start watching Zatima. That's the spinoff
with Zach and Fatima. But the other thing I did was,
you know, I've been trying to handle a lot of
different things with business, and it's like a whirlwind. I'm
gonna be honest, it's like the busiest time of my life.
I feel like I can't even sit down. So I
worked this entire weekend. But I also was excited to
(09:03):
there's a virtual state of the district my Congressman Hakim Jeffries,
who's also, by the way, the Democratic leader. He was
unanimously elected to that position a couple of years ago.
He's the highest breaking Democrat in the House of Representatives.
It's nice, so shout out to Hakim Jeffries. So I'm
actually am seeing his state of the district that's going
to be on the twenty ninth, okay, and so you'll
(09:25):
have a chance to see that. But it is an
election year. How involved are you when it comes to politics.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Yeah, I vote, you know, I try to stay out
of politics when people have those discussions. But you got
to vote locally, and I'm always you know, supporting my
local officials.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I just think it's important to have those real conversations
because one thing I think and if you you know,
Hakim Jeffries says you've seen him in vote Biggie when
he speaks, but he is actually very present and he's
also very responsible, even keeled. He's not chaotic. Yeah, you know,
he's always trying to come up with solutions. That's what
I look for when I look for who I want
to vote. What is their track record, like what are
(10:00):
some things that they've developed, what do they stand behind,
and so you know, just things to keep in mind
because I want to make sure we're paying attention and
not deciding to sit out when it comes to voting.
Some people will be like, I don't like anybody, I'm
choosing the lesser of two evils. Well that I'm just
not going to vote. But that does really hurt you
in the long run, and then you can't complain when
you didn't even participate.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
I think you need to run for Bowell president anch
What do.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
You think in the meantime, I want to talk. I
want to do a pick aside with you, okay, all right?
And for people to who are listening, do you feel
like if you help somebody out in the past, they
owe you in the future. And this all comes to
the Benzino Drink Champs episode where he talks about helping
Kevin Hart. He talks about helping your partner Elliott Wilson
(10:44):
and rap Raader.
Speaker 8 (10:44):
Here's what he said, that's my son, like Elliott started
with us, learned the ropes, then went to ex except.
Speaker 10 (10:50):
Kevin Hart, that's my son because I gave him the
opportunity to be the social wards and you see me,
but he had like he didn't even know me do.
Speaker 5 (10:59):
With DJ Callen. I gave DJ called.
Speaker 8 (11:01):
Club Zeno Social wards DJ that when I fall.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
And lose everything, you don't even want to be like yo.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Ziom, Come on, what do you think about what he
has to say? Do people owe you because you help
them in the beginning. I'm sure a lot of people
help though, Like anybody who booked you somewhere really literally
helped you. So you owe everybody?
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Right, you know, it takes a village.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
And if Elliott Wilson and his son, are you his grandson?
That's the question. But we want to see what you
guys think. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty
isn't number. Pick a side. Do you owe somebody if
they helped you in the past. Do you feel like
that's something that has to come back up in the
future or do you feel like, listen, we don't do
it for that. I just help people because I want
to help them. Nobody owes anybody anything. Eight hundred two
(11:42):
ninety two fifty one fifty pick aside.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
It's not just right or wrong. It's about what you believe.
It's time to pick a side and stay there.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
It's way up at Angela Yea, I am Angela Yea
and beat outs here with me, beat out, beat out.
Do you feel like somebody owes you if you help
them in the past. This all comes from the Drink
Champs episode with Benzio. Here's what he said about Kevin
Hart and Elliott Wilson.
Speaker 8 (12:06):
That's my son, like Elliott started with us, learned the ropes,
then went to ex except.
Speaker 10 (12:12):
Kevin Hart that's my son because I gave him the
opportunity to be the social wards if you see me,
but he acts like he didn't even know me. With
DJ Khalid, I gave DJ Calid club Zeno.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Social wards DJ.
Speaker 8 (12:25):
Then when I fall and lose everything, you don't even
want to be like yo.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Ziom, come on, what do you think be that? Are
there people that you've helped that you feel like you
owe them? No, I mean that helped you.
Speaker 11 (12:36):
No.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
I feel like it takes a village, right, nobody's self
made you know so. But I think a lot of
people are disingenuous, right, and they will guilt trip you
into being their doormat, and people take advantage of that situation.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
So I think that at the minimum. If somebody's ever
helped you, you owe them at least to not bash
them ever. And so if you've ever done anything for me,
I'm not going to ever bash you. Even if we
don't get along anymore. I'm gonna move on in my
business if there's are falling out or whatever. But I
do like to help people if they've helped me, But
I don't feel obligated.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
It's an ecosystem, man. It takes a village, all right.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Well, let's see what you guys think. Pick aside eight
hundred two nine fifty one fifty Does someone owe you
if you helped them in the past and you know
you're doing bad? Do they owe you? Coach Davis, what
do you think?
Speaker 12 (13:20):
No, it's not an obligation for someone you know help someone,
and you're not obligated to help them. I've been in
education for over twenty five years man, on both the
athletic and academic side, and I've helped countless of individuals,
help young you know, young scholars and students and what
have you, right, And it's not an obligation for my
(13:41):
students to come back and thank me or do something
for me if they feel the need to and it's
in the current of their heart. That's all I need,
That's all I would want.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
That's amazing.
Speaker 12 (13:51):
No one is obligated to do it.
Speaker 9 (13:53):
You know.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Okay, all right, so he said, you're not obligated. Thank
you for calling.
Speaker 12 (13:57):
All right, belove, it got to talk to you though.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
All right, you too, his words from the coach.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Hey, Murray, how are you?
Speaker 12 (14:03):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
What app is me?
Speaker 13 (14:05):
And be that?
Speaker 2 (14:06):
We want to know? Are you obligated to help somebody
if they did something for you? Coming up?
Speaker 11 (14:10):
Well?
Speaker 12 (14:10):
And first of all, like to see your new show.
Speaker 9 (14:13):
I used to fight you on the old show.
Speaker 7 (14:15):
Okay, thank you, And I just want to say sometimes
you do.
Speaker 11 (14:19):
Oh you know.
Speaker 9 (14:20):
A few people, you know what I'm saying a little
help because they didn't help you do the struggle.
Speaker 12 (14:24):
I will be where I'm at right now if a
few people did, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (14:28):
So what do you what did you do to help
them out? Afterward? Like how did you repay that?
Speaker 3 (14:32):
What does that look like?
Speaker 14 (14:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (14:33):
Like give them like give them a hustle, like you know,
like if I didn't have money, I'd give them a job.
Speaker 13 (14:38):
Or you know what I'm saying them, I might put
them on something dec.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
You like, Okay, Texas isn't good enough though?
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah? Yeah, bro, thanks thanks all right, so he says, yes,
yes you do o people. Okay, thank you. Hey Roxy
Rock siyy, Hello, we're good. How are you You want
to know? Are you obligated to help somebody if they
did something for you on your come up?
Speaker 14 (15:04):
You're not obligating. Before I say that, it's because like
I've helped people get jobs, so I had to look up.
So when I was without a job, I didn't go
back to those people say hey, can you help me?
Speaker 9 (15:15):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 14 (15:16):
So I couldn't still no tax ways because I want
everybody to win. Okay, No, you're not obligated, no, because
that means you didn't do it from the heart, you
know what I mean. Like everybody had their season when
they're gonna be up, they're gonna be down, and you
just continue to celebrate people regardless. Like you said that,
they don't see someone and they didn't speak to him. Okay,
but why he didn't speak to them?
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yeah, that's what I can't stand when people do that too.
They don't speak to you, but they like I saw
you, you don't speak to me. You ain't say nothing like.
Speaker 14 (15:41):
We saw each other, so you speak to me the
bigger person.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
How you doing?
Speaker 3 (15:46):
You know?
Speaker 12 (15:49):
Right?
Speaker 14 (15:50):
A lot of times I want everything's worried to me,
you like, let me know you hire But then he
was like he heit rock Bottom. But instead of being
built about it, trying to think back about it, all
the people he put on. If he put out there
like man, I'm doing bad right now, put on one
or two people may be like, hey, what can I
do to help you?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Know? You're right? Sometimes people got to ask and be
specific with the ask instead of just thinking I'm supposed
to know you down bad. If you say to me specifically, hey,
I'm doing this, would you mind helping me? Or could
you post this? You can't just expect people to read
your mind. Thank you, take care.
Speaker 14 (16:27):
Got to speak up, all right, that's.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
The case, Angela. Let me walk twenty dollars.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
I already helped you a lot. All right, Well pick aside.
It looks like more people said no, I don't owe
you like it is what it is. Do it from
the goodness of ya heart. And when we come back,
we have your yet and let's talk about Kelly Rowland.
She was doing Sherry Shepherd's show, and she was given
the star treatment. We'll talk about why that matters. It's
way up yet, is next the lid off this?
Speaker 5 (16:54):
But let's get it.
Speaker 6 (16:55):
Angela's feeling that yet, Come and get your tea.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
It's way up, but Angela ye a'mannge la ye beat
out his here. Look it looks good. And are the
accommodations good for you here?
Speaker 3 (17:05):
I'm pretty good so far? Man?
Speaker 2 (17:07):
All right, well let's get into some ut I do
hear your stomach, grownling? We gotta feed you well. Sherry
Shepherd is saying that Kelly Roland was given a gorgeous
dressing room on her show. This is all after the
drama was that Kelly Roland walked off to today show
because she didn't have a nice enough accommodations for her
dressing room. People are saying, though the accommodations there aren't
that amazing. And here is what Sherry Shepherd had to
(17:29):
say on her show.
Speaker 14 (17:30):
I have to tell you, we thank you for being
light positive energy in.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
This space time we needed you, and I thank you
so much for y'all.
Speaker 14 (17:44):
Oh, queen, thank you.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
So much for that. All right, So now we don't
know what really happened. This is just what the rumor
is that she walked off the Today Show because of that,
And I saw Marlon Wayams also posted you all stop
with these false narratives. I've worked with Kelly Rowland as
a star producer. I will honestly say she was nothing
short of amazing, sweet, kind, professional, on time, great energy
and peckable manners and professionalism. She was nice to everyone
(18:08):
on set.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
I like the accommodations here way up. You get bottled water,
a seven dollar per dium. It's a good place to be.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Seven dollar per diem. We'll gave you that.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Oh my bad.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
We have dreams, we have some I best wines. We
give you some of that. But you know, so we
don't know the truth that would happen. And I will
say every time that I've come across Kelly Rowland, she
has been really sweet and nice.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
And she smells amazing.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
That was inappropriate.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
I'm sorry, it's the truth.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
That was inappropriate. It's true, okay, or as opposed to
smelling bag, she smells great. All right, Well, shout out
to you, Kelly Rowland. We're not sure what happened, but
I know at some point it's all gonna come out,
and Vince Staples is asking for people to help him
get the Vince Staples Show renewed on Netflix. He said
Netflix didn't buy any more episodes, so make sure you
hit that double thumbs up. Peer pressure works and I'm
trying to reap and so we'll see what ends up happening.
(18:56):
Premiered with only five episodes. I saw like the first
three episodes so far, so I was watching it.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Yeah, so the first couple as well.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Yeah, it's like random situations that he gets in, like
the bank gets robbed while he's in there. You know,
there's a cookout, his mom brings the mac and cheese.
You gotta see. It's like it's like random curb your
enthusiasm type of happenings.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Like surreal realism.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Okay, we like that, so it'd be like surrealism.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yeah, it's kind of like you know, Atlanta today people
make those comparences, but yeah, I think they're kind of legitimate.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
So except in CALLI exactly Long Beach all right. Now,
Nicki Minaj is saying that she wants Kat Williams to
perhaps come on tour with her. You know, Monica is
on tour with Nicki Minaj. She announced she'll be joining
her on tour and that's going to kick off on Friday,
March first. It ends in July. And here's what you
had to say on social media.
Speaker 15 (19:45):
Now, I know that this is the busiest man in
show business. Can y'all hit up Kat Williams and ask
can what would be his price to be a part
of the Pink Friday to Gag City tour?
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Can you imagine?
Speaker 13 (20:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Actually I can because you think about it.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
There's a trend going on with comedians on tour like
Benda Donna is on tour with j Cole and Drake
right now. And I remember Drew Ski opened up for
j Cole in the offseason tour. So I think that
trend is pretty dope.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Yeah, it's nice, it breaks up. It's fun entertaining in
between things too, to have that set all right, And
Dave Chappelle does like the block party, yeah, which I
think is always amazing. And shout out to Sexy Red.
She won Female Rapper of the Year for the Double
Xcel Awards twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
A The Man a Recount Why I'm calling for a
peaceful protest.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
She won over Nicki Minaj to Lotto, Ice Spice, Doja, Cat, Coroy,
La Ray and Glorilla What. That's a nice stacked group
of people to win against. But she did have a
major year last year, Rich Baby Daddy.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Not better than Lotto and even like.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Her solo songs and ski you saw the kids doing
their own renditions. That can I say that? Yeah, okay,
just making sure all right, well that is your YETI
We'll tell you some more of those winners later and
when we come back, we have under the radar, the
stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. They are
flying under the radar, and we'll tell you how you
can maybe get your hands on a Gucci bag brand new, okay,
(21:06):
half price to I'm kidding, don't do it, don't do it,
but we'll talk about it. It's way up under the Radar's.
Speaker 6 (21:10):
Next list in the news that relates to you. These
stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
It's way up at Angela Yee, I'm Angela yee and
beat out his here.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Why beat out I am here?
Speaker 2 (21:20):
You are here, you have lended and let's do some
under the radar stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They're flying under the radar. Now Donald Chunk could be
facing yet another lawsuit. He already has a three hundred
and fifty five million dollars civil fraud judgments. Yes, and
that is all because he fraudulently inflated his network to
obtain better loan terms, and so these are monetary penalties.
(21:43):
He also cannot run a corporation in New York for
three years and no bank chartered or registered in the
state can lend him or his business's money for three years.
So that's the punishment. So now he has these sneakers
that he put out.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
The Trump Towns. Yeah, you like him, we'll talk about that.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
They sold out though he made it a thousand pairs
of them three hundred ninety nine dollars each and they
all sold out. But according to an analyst a see
in an analyst, political commentator Maria Cardona said that this
could actually be a lawsuit because if you see these shoes,
the bottom of the shoes are red like Loubi's the
red bottoms Lubatons, and you know, Christian Lubaton has definitely
(22:22):
done lawsuits, trademark lawsuits again to anybody doing that signature
red soul, because they're really known for that and one,
and so that could be another lawsuit in the making
because they do make sneakers. What did you think of
those sneakers? What do you think?
Speaker 11 (22:36):
I don't think.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
I don't think they're my style personally. But you know,
I look shout out to Trump, man, is either this
or a GoFundMe? He has to pay that bill.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Well, he did do a go fund me, and they've
halted that. He was trying to do this GoFundMe to
pay his three hundred and fifty five million dollars.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Fine geez.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
And so far the page had raised about five hundred
thousand dollars since being launched to help him, and they
actually halt that. That is ridiculous. Okay, by the way,
and the page was launched by Gregg Cardon's wife.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Oh wow, yeah, Trump about to sell fish plates in
a minute, so't be surprised.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
The fact that people are donating to somebody that is
supposedly so rich is wild to me, all right. And
speaking of money, money, money, New York City Gucci store,
this Gucci store in the meatpacking district Goji was raided
by arm crooks. They stole about fifty one thousand dollars
in bags and sunglasses, and then they got in a
car and fled to New Jersey. That first in the
(23:32):
surveillance footage, they show a woman getting into the store.
She's like casing the location, and then she walks past
the worker and then that's when her accomplices, who are
both wearing hoodies are next scene on the video, one
had a gun pointed, get down on the ground and
then they grabbed whatever they could. At one point one
of the gunmen was unable to hold onto the five
bags and piece of luggage that he was stealing, and
(23:52):
they stuffed items into a large Launey bag and then
they got into a black honed CRV and went into
Jersey through the Lincoln Tunnel. And so it's been a
smash and grab you know, going on throughout right and
a lot of different cities. So what's been a major issue.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
That is awful.
Speaker 7 (24:07):
Man.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
If anyone has any information, please call me at seven.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
He what I thought you were going to say? Any tips,
you can call eight hundred five seven seven tips. No way,
trying to get some bags. Yes, if you come in
here tomorrow with a Duffel bag, I'm gonna know what
it is, all right, Well, that is you're under the
radar now.
Speaker 11 (24:27):
You know.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
We got the way Up mixed at the top of
the hour one eight hundred fifty fifty. You can always
leave a message and talk to us in that way
and have the last word. But let's party on a Tuesday.
It's way up. She's like the talk like a Angela
Jean like they Angela Jean Man.
Speaker 5 (24:42):
She's spilling it all. This is yeat way up.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
It's way up at Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee. Beat
out his here beat out, I'm here journalist extraordinary yep.
All right, let's get into some yeat. Soa. It looks
like this show star that Lee Daniels did maybe coming back.
Somebody posted on social media, I need Starbuck because baby,
the way I was invested, the scene still leads me shook.
Grandma poisoned that. Although then on top of that, it
(25:09):
was so much, and Lee Daniels responded, love you for this.
It is being written. I appreciate everybody's love. It's just
taking me forever because I have other projects. It's crazy.
I had no idea when I created this show the
response would be like this grateful, that's what suck and
we love a show with women who are singers. Remember
that show Rags to Riches back in the day.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
I do remember that was show.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
So it'd be nice to have Starbuck, all right, And
Beyonce is giving back. You know. She has her long
awaited haircare brand, Say Cred that arrived today today will
Her charity be Good has announced a partnership with the
brand to support cosmetology school students and local businesses. It's
the Sacred and Be Good Fun awarding five hundred thousand
dollars annually on her thousand to support cosmetology school scholarships
(25:52):
and salon business grandstats in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, LA, and
New Jersey. That's the announcement, So congratulations. There's five different
cosmetology scholarship schools that are participating in this, so you
can go on her page to find out about that.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
She's like, you're not a negro college fund man for.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Yeah, well, you know what, it is true. It's nice
for her to be able to do that with her
haircare products. Cosmetology school is important because a lot of
people that do hair, do make up and do things
and they don't have their you know, license, and you know,
so this will be really helpful to people. All right, now,
let's talk about this beef. Shannon Sharp is always in
something right now with that popularity, and he was already popular.
(26:32):
But this club Shay Sheha, you and your impersonation, this
all started. This beef with Mace and Shannon Sharp is insane. Now.
Shannon Sharp had some things to say about Mace being
a gangster pastor and Mace coming at him murder Mace. Yeah,
here's what he said.
Speaker 11 (26:50):
I'm coming up on four years of having Club Shah,
and it's all of a sudden. Yea, even everybody. I
mean there's this pastor, I guess not he a gangster pastor.
All flood got them, They got them out there now
now all the suod. I mean, he gonna do so
much he needed to sit a little ROLLI pole ass down.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Damn all right. Well, Mace of course, went right back
on it is what it is on his show with
Cameron and responded to Shannon Sharp. Here's what he said.
Speaker 7 (27:16):
Listen, I'm not the one to play with matter of fact,
I'm not even gonna take that role.
Speaker 13 (27:23):
I'm gonna take a different role with you.
Speaker 8 (27:25):
You showed poise, respect, resolve for Skip Bayless. Why are
you so aggressive anytime somebody black say something?
Speaker 2 (27:36):
You know, this all started actually Mason was really making
fun of Shannon Shop first, so it kind of started there.
Shannon Sharp responded, But you know, Shannon Sharp has a
lot of people coming at him. Yeah, that also includes
comedian Eddie Griffin. Here's what Eddie Griffin had to say
about Shannon Shop on stage.
Speaker 12 (27:55):
Wow Gate.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Okay, come on, guys.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
You know with the gauge, Shannon has been in more
beef than rappers this year.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
I don't know, there's a lot of it's because there's
comedy beef that's been going on. I don't know if
you saw Donnelle Rawlings and Corey Hokum, but there's some
comedy beef going on. Well, Shannon Sharp says that he
spoke to his sister and you can't fire back at everybody.
Here's what he said.
Speaker 11 (28:16):
She said, Shannon, at some point in time, you're gonna
have to learn you can't fight the devil every day
because you'll fight a never end the war. Let them
say whatever. You know, they're using the same joke. But
at some point in time it's gonna get old and
people gonna get tired of y'all saying that Shannon gay
and Shannon this, and you're gonna have to get back
to telling jokes.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
So there you have it.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
When you start getting the gay jokes, that means you
made it. Okay, I haven't made it yet.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
All right, well let's work on that. Let's work let's
work on that. What can we say? All right, we'll
work on it.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Okay, well maybe not I've been.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
With all right, Well, that is your yee t. And
you know we got asked yee when we come back.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is a number.
Call us up any question that you have. We are
here to help. If you need help from beat out?
Who is are you coming out?
Speaker 5 (29:04):
Or what?
Speaker 16 (29:04):
No?
Speaker 2 (29:05):
All right, well, if you need help eight hundred and
two nine fifty one fifty, we're here for its way
up everybody.
Speaker 6 (29:10):
Except with its relationship or career advice. Angela's dropping facts sho.
You should know this is ask gee?
Speaker 2 (29:17):
What's up his way up? But angela yee? I'm angela
yee and beat out his hair yo. And speaking of B,
we got B on the line for ask ye eight
hundred two ninet two fifty one fifty what's that? B?
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Hi, Angeline?
Speaker 5 (29:27):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (29:28):
How good it is? Be and beat out?
Speaker 3 (29:30):
No relation?
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Okay? What's your what's your question for? Ask?
Speaker 11 (29:34):
Ye?
Speaker 4 (29:35):
Okay? So I got a friend. I love her, She's
a sweetheart. We've been staying together about a year, okay,
and she has this boyfriend with real nice He was
supposed to stay there a week while he got some
business taking care of He's been here two months, doesn't
He's always in the spot. And I told her, like,
you know, he can stay, but he's gonna have to
start investing in the spy or like, really, y'all need
(29:57):
to look at living together, just the two of you
because bring its crowded.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
B Do you want him to stay because you said
he can stay, right, so you're okay with him staying
if he pays rent? Or would you rather they get
their own place?
Speaker 4 (30:09):
I really don't want him there. I expected one roommate
to yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
And you should express that. Don't say he can stay
if you don't mean it, because no matter even if
you start paying, it's still gonna be annoying.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Is he getting mail there yet? Oh?
Speaker 13 (30:20):
My god?
Speaker 4 (30:20):
Get everything there? All his stuff? Like I can't even
see my stuff anymore because his stuff.
Speaker 10 (30:25):
Is on top of it.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
What city or state you call it from?
Speaker 12 (30:27):
We in Chicago, Chicago?
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Can you get your own place? Like when is the Lisa?
Speaker 4 (30:32):
We just renewed it and like me and hert just
started business together, so like I was living together with
like a perfect convenience. And I really don't have a
problem with him. I just have a problem with him
picking over the space. Yeah, and like not contributing in.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Yeah, Jack Tripper, especially you guys are in business together,
you live together. Now her man's there. It's too much
and it's gonna end up all crashing. I promise you
it will unless you handle it now, because you have
to lay down the ground work because the relationship that
you guys are going to have as business partners, you
can't let somebody take advantage of your niceness in this
way either, you know, So you have to be really firm.
(31:09):
And if she doesn't do what she needs to do,
like telling me he needs to get his own place
as a man, he shouldn't even want to be in
there in y'all space like that, that's a bad sign
for her relationship. And that might be a conversation you
have with both of them like, look, I don't have
a problem with you. I want your relationship to work out,
but this is also my space and this isn't what
(31:30):
I necessarily signed up for. And it's not an offense
to you, but I'm just appealing to you. Guys, we
do have a business relationship. We should be able to
talk about anything, because it's going to be uncomfortable conversations
that will come up as this relationship progresses, and I
just don't think it's fair to me and the space
that I have as my home to deal with something
this is not what I anticipated, right, you know, So
(31:51):
you're gonna have to be really straight up and honest
and know that like this does not bode well for
your business relationship. If this isn't something y'all can't get through.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
We are not a suffle. It is like Auffle energy and.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
I'm an athlete. It's giving shelter and be like, girl,
I don't want to walk out there and fall on
some No I'm kidding, but no, but seriously, you do
have to just stand your ground when it comes to that.
You cannot not set these boundaries now because this is
going to really matter further on down the line. You're
really setting the stage for what you and HER's relationship
(32:24):
is going to be. And she should have to be
able to come to you if she has an issue
with anything that you're doing. I'll let you know as well.
So that's what this is about.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
No, you're right, that's that's follidio.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Okay, Well, good luck, be yes, thank you.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Angela would have kicked me out the first week, right, and.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
For sure I'd have been like, all right, beat this
guy's here too much. He's got to go, you know,
do rag juice everywhere? All right, Well, when we come back,
let's talk about something that beat Out was talking about
live Yes Okay on his Instagram Live Double XL Awards
twenty twenty four. We'll talk about some of the winners.
(32:59):
Sexy read Female Rapper of the Year. You have a
real issue with that. She also was Best New Artist
of the Year. Oh my gosh recipes according to the
popular votes. Okay, and so we'll discuss that. You'll talk
about your problems, but we want to see what you
guys think too. Female Rapper of the Year. It was
Nicki Minaj's Latto Sexy red Ice, Spice, Doja, Cat Coila
Ray and Glorilla, let us know what you think. Eight
(33:21):
hundred two nine two fifty Yeah more.
Speaker 5 (33:24):
Way up with Angelae on now.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Is what it is?
Speaker 2 (33:29):
All right? This way up? Put Angela Ye, I'm Angela yee.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Beat out his hair beat I am here and I'm angry.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Now beat out your journalist. You were upset that Sexy
Red one Female Rapper of the Year for the Double
Xcel Awards. Yes, I think she accomplished a lot this
past year, and not only that, had a baby was
pregnant while doing it. You know how hard that is.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
I wouldn't know.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
I know you would not know. Another would I but
I demanded recount. I can't even imagine. But she also
got some backlash. Well, Questlove got some backlash for adding
her to the Roots Picnic, and he said, there's always
that one act on the show everyone hates because it
serves as a reminder the hip hop they like is
from thirty years ago. I mean, I get it, But
look we got around and balanced the day out. There
are other stages, podcasts and events to see. And he said,
(34:10):
I'm still shock you all got energy for oh hell noism,
So like it's sixteen years folks, when have you seen
the festival in which every act is the actor you love.
I mean, the way I see it. Cats are in
here bringing a certain energy. There's a Jill Scott, a
Marie Post black Thought met the mayor Redman. So roots
Picnic is well rounded and that's why it works. We
did Roots Picnic last year lip service, Okay, m hmm.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
I just think that people, if you're listening, if you're
a roots fan, you're probably not necessarily a Sexy Red fan.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
But it's not just for roots fans. It's for music fans, okay.
And so there's a wide variety of music. There's podcast stages,
there's food, there's all types of things going on, and
there are gonna be people who are excited to see
Sexy Red. I enjoy it. Let me tell you. She
performed at Terminal five in New York and I was
outside that day and I was like, what's happening over here?
There were so many women on the street, like dressed
(34:59):
kind of like us a red and I was like,
what's going on? They were like Sexy Red concert and
it was packed in there.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
I was the guy outside donutsmatos.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
You should have been outside trying to hollop okay, But
all I'm saying is, yes, I agree with Questlov there's
room for all different types of music. Sometimes I want
to listen to boot Tang. Sometimes I get my Sexy
Red on. Sometimes I want to listen to Kendrick. Sometimes
I feel like, you know, it's just so many different
things that depending on what muja in and what you're
about to do, that music serves as a soundtrack for
(35:28):
and sometimes that soundtrack is Sexy Red.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Yikes.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
All right, well let's see what you guys think about
Sexy Red as Female Rapper of the Year for the
Double XEL Awards. Quinn, how are you?
Speaker 11 (35:39):
I'm good?
Speaker 13 (35:40):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (35:41):
I'm good. It's me and Beata and I want to
know what you think about Sexy Red as the Female
Rapper of the Year.
Speaker 9 (35:47):
I don't think she should be Female Rapper of the Year.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
See, but you like her?
Speaker 2 (35:51):
No quiz by explain why? What's the problem?
Speaker 9 (35:56):
Would you make music about your six life?
Speaker 2 (35:59):
I think have always done that. Yeah, I have a
whole podcast it's about sex, so it doesn't bother me.
Speaker 9 (36:04):
But you gotta think though. I'm talking like, these are
songs that's been played on the radio where my six
year old son can listen to it, my four year
old daughter can listen to it.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
But I just think that people have always made all
different genres of music that have been about sex and relationships.
I remember singing songs growing up and not even knowing
what it was about.
Speaker 9 (36:23):
All people like I didn't know we were letting thoughts
in the rap game.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Now you know.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
And I feel like men have always had crazy, crazy
songs and it's been okay, and it's never been backlash
like women gag.
Speaker 13 (36:37):
Because in the past, all the years that I've known
music and I've heard music, every girl that I've ever
heard of made music. She made songs about making love,
about being her feelings. Treat me like this and I
should be loved like this, not like this and beat
it up like this.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
You never heard songs like my neck, my back. You
never heard Trina and Daddy heard that.
Speaker 12 (36:59):
I've heard that.
Speaker 9 (37:00):
And then I just.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Think about like back in the day with Snoop Dog
and all those songs that everybody love.
Speaker 13 (37:06):
It just as changed.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
But I'm saying this has been something that's always happened.
This isn't new, all right, Well, thank you for calling. Hey, Arianna,
how are you good?
Speaker 9 (37:18):
Good.
Speaker 14 (37:18):
How are you doing today?
Speaker 2 (37:19):
I'm good? Thank you? So beat out as upset? That's
so she read got Female Rapper of the Year at
the Double XL Awards. What do you think she deserves it?
Speaker 16 (37:27):
All the work she's been doing with Drake. Everybody knows.
Speaker 9 (37:31):
Even Charlie was dancing over to Rich Baby Daddy.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
She made that song. By the way, Rich Baby Daddy.
I think she did honestly that song. What do we
know from that song the most?
Speaker 1 (37:41):
I think the hook is definitely the most polarizing part
of the record.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Okay, I give a.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Prose for that. It sounds like she has some assistance,
But for the most part, I don't think she's a
great rap. I think, for lack of a better words,
I think she sucks.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
The remix with Young Nudie is amazing, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
But put It on the Floor is a lot better.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Boom Part two, Freaky Tea, I mean, the lot of
had a crazy twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Three and listen, they're cool. They're on a Young Nudy
remix together. You know, these things are always going to
be people don't agree, So no matter who would have won,
there's gonna be people who don't agree with it. But
do they all deserve to be in this category and
potentially win. Yes, I mean I think with the women
it's a lot of stiff competition right now.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
There's a lot of rappers that are a lot of
female rappers that are doing anything that is for sure.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Let me hear you, I'm Sexy Red impersonation Seesu's not
easy to do it sounds like AKA. All right, well,
thank you for calling.
Speaker 7 (38:32):
Of course, thank you.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
I see a pattern here, I see the metal mad
and the women are like, go for it. All right. Well,
when we come back, if you couldn't get through to
talk about that, we have last word eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty is way up?
Speaker 8 (38:43):
Take up the phone tapping to get.
Speaker 5 (38:47):
Your voice heard. What the word? He's the last word
on way up with Angela Yee?
Speaker 2 (38:52):
What's up? Its way up with Angela Ye. I'm Angela Yee.
And Beata was here this morning causing chaos always are
always we just suck. We're talking about Sexy Read being
a female Rapper of the Year according to Double XL.
Everybody weighed in on what they thought about that, and
of course earlier we were talked about also helping somebody out.
If you were down bad and somebody helped you, do
you owe them? Okay? And that was a topic. Yes,
(39:13):
I think both of you and I said, we don't
owe anybody anything.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
We don'tbody nothing.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
But I think it is nice gesture to help people
when they need it, even if they didn't help you.
I just think in general it's nice if you can
help people out, all right. And also, in a couple
of days, I'm actually going to be talking to the
New Majority NYC. And this is all about electing candidates
running for office in New York City identifying as women,
and so that's part of what they do with their
(39:38):
work there. It was founded back in twenty seventeen as
twenty one and twenty one. The goal was to elect
twenty one additional women to the New York City Council
because at the time there were only eleven women out
of fifty one. And so they did end up making
that happen. So shout out to the New Majority YC.
I'll be at their fundraiser on Thursday.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
Speaking Anthony over.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
An election year though, you know what I'm saying. So,
and actually they managed to get thirty one women into office.
Ok So, that was a huge deal and they were
the first majority women and majority women of Carla Council
in New York City's history. Wow, and you know so
still doing the work. So I'll be with them on Thursday.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Beat that can I come sure, Okay.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Come on through. We'll play some sexy recue. But as usual,
you guys have the last word. Eight hundred two.
Speaker 16 (40:27):
I think you should treat other people like you want
to be treated. And I've been through this, like with
my family and stuff. Some people are givers and some
people are takers. Givers have to set boundaries because takers
don't have any boundaries. They're not against you, They're just
for themselves. And that's a sad thing and it's a
hard lesson to learn. You can't expect you from other people.
Speaker 13 (40:50):
I totally support Sexy Red winning Female Artists of the
Year at.
Speaker 12 (40:55):
The XXL Awards.
Speaker 9 (40:57):
Nobody turns up harder than sexy Red. Sexy Red is
my idol.
Speaker 4 (41:02):
I think that she's the dopest periods
Speaker 5 (41:06):
Going way up with Angela Yee
