Speaker 2 (00:34):
So I said yesterday, I said, some people call in
and they're very upset Manos here because they don't want
to get judged. Some people call in and they're like,

just depends on who you are and what your secret is.

the streets. I see it. Afterwards, I'd be oh, he
was on gates. Okay, Well, so anyway, I want to
shine a light on. Jade Kerney Dube. She founded the
digital health platform she Matters. She said she felt invisible
(02:06):
in the healthcare system during postpartum so This platform requires
professionals working with black mothers to complete cultural competency training,
which is really important. We all have heard the numbers
as far as how Black women are treated when it
comes to medical care and when it comes to maternity,
and that includes postpartum and anything that happens afterwards. So
(02:26):
we want to shout out to you, Jade Kearney Dube.
She raised two million dollars to help mothers identify concerning
symptoms during postpartum. So shout out to her for her platform.
It's called the Symptom Tracker app. All right, So that's
available for expecting and new mothers. Now, who do you
guys want to shine a light on? Eight hundred and
two nine two fifty one fifty is a number? Jeon,
(02:47):

the gold out there too.
Speaker 4 (03:00):

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Y'all be tumbling?
Speaker 9 (03:04):
Well they do. I'll weigh two hundred pounds. I can't
do it no more.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
So you're used to tumble yet I need to see
some video.
Speaker 9 (03:12):
It's Frank Rowley Flip City South on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Okay, Flip City South.
Speaker 9 (03:17):
We like that.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
All right, Well, congratulations Tumblefore you you ever heard that song?
Speaker 9 (03:22):

Speaker 2 (03:28):

Thank you for putting us on. I appreciate it. I'm
goot to go.
Speaker 9 (03:38):
Let me shine the light on my brother.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yes, of course, we appreciate you. I'm watching right now,
all right, thank you. All right, Well that would shine
a light. And when we come back, we have your yeetie,
and let's talk about an alleged sex tape leak. I
see your ears perking up, Mayo, because I feel like
you're gonna want to see this one. It's way up, they.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Say in the rooms.
Speaker 7 (03:58):
From industry shape you to all the gossip out. Angela's
feeling that.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
What's up this way up? At Angela ye? Angela ye,
and man, it was in the building and it's yes,
all right, Bobby, all of you know who she is.
Then when it does those awkward interviews. Right, Well, she
is trending and that's because there was a video that
people are saying is a sex video that was trending
on x and she said that she noticed she was
(04:25):
trending and was horrified by what she saw. Here's what
she said.
Speaker 10 (04:28):
I didn't realize that it was actually people believing that
that was me until my whole team called me and
were like, is.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
This is this real? So you guys not me, Sorry
to disappoint, So yeah, she said it's fake. So when
you see it, just is it like a sex video?
She said, it's AI generated, but yes, it's a sex video.
And she says it's not her. It does look like
it's a AI. Don't look like her, No, I mean
you could tell it looks like it could be her,
but you could tell it's not real. You could tell
(04:56):
it's AIM. Gonna check it out though, And Ruby Rowe
is now hit with an alleged sex tape leak and
people are saying that someone from her close friends leaked it.
She need to change up her close friends because whoever's
in her close friends constantly is putting out her information.
But I'm not sure if this is her enough, But
(05:17):
she does have an onlyfan. She does put exclusive photos
and videos for people on her OnlyFans, And so if
you do a little I saw a little something something,
it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Crazy crazy about today's standards.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah, yeah, And I think that Ruby Rose has always
been very like with her body as far as you know,
just some people. Yeah, some people don't mind. She's all natural. Yeah,
she's all natural. Right, I'm not going to talk about
how people are built.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Main person. We talk about the other.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
But no, she's beautiful. So you know, we don't know
what that is yet. I will say it feels like
if it is her though, she's not going to run
from it. If I had to get run from it
all right now. Tyler Perry has in an interview for
Oprah Daly's The Life You Want Class, and it's an
exclusive clip from that sit down where he talks about
why he's such a good father and what he did
(06:06):
to become a good father. Here's what he said, How
did you know that you would be a good father?
Speaker 10 (06:11):
I didn't, And I struggled with that, and I worried
because I didn't have an example because this man was
just awful. Right one day, I was praying about it
and the God what do I do? And the answer
came to me as clear as day. Do it in reverse?
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah. So these are from Oprahs The Life you Want Class,
by the way, So they talk about triump so for childhood, abuse, poverty, discrimination,
finding the strength and vulnerability to be themselves and things
like that. So watch that full thing. I know you
watched Tyler Perry's documentary.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yes I did, and he talked about his relationship with
his father. They even tried to interview him.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Really yeah, he was.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Like, no, I want don't no, no, nope, I ain't
got nothing.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
To talk about.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's my might be too late to
repair that the way. Sometimes you can't help how other
people act. But all you can do is try. All right,
he tried and that is your yet. And when we
come back, we have about last night. That's where we
discussed we did last night. I had a long day
and night yesterday. And mano, you're gonna tell us what
you did, yes, because you are glowing. It's way up
last night.
Speaker 7 (07:08):
So about last night, last night, last nights, I.
Speaker 6 (07:13):
Went down.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
What's up? His way up at Angela Yea, I'm Angela
Yee And it's time to talk about about last night
with my guy. MANA.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yeah, here man, I'm always happy to be here, and
she listened when I'm.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Not what did you do last night?
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Mayno, last night, I stayed in.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
That's a change of plan, right, because you know I
was going to surprise y'all come up here, you know.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
And I had been in the studio the night before
all the way to about six seven in the morning.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
You've been working hard.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Shout out to Lola Brook.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
You know, she's jumped on the Lobby Boys project in Yanjim.
So we was up the whole night in the morning,
so I was tired. Yeah, So I knew I was
gonna come in and surprise y'all.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
All right, well last night I worked all day and
night yesterday, but I will say I did lift service yesterday.
We're holding this one though, until March. But it's Marsha Ambrosia.
So she has a new project coming out with Doctor
Dre that she's been talking about. Cata Blanco is called
that's the name of the project, Yeah, Casta Blanco. But
she has her first single about one night Stands that's
(08:10):
coming out soon like that on the show, very spicy. Okay,
when you have a chance to hear that because it's
not out yet.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
She always makes music kind of like because I was
on a song with her years ago called I Hope
she leaves you for a basketball.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
And you know she used to play basketball to really yeah,
I didn't know that she was part of a group
Flower Tree. Yeah she was in Flowistry, but yes, I
hope she leaves you for a basketball player.
Speaker 10 (08:38):
Y'all.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
The men were so mad about that one. Yeah, definitely
makes perfect sense. Okay. So anyway, Yeah, so we were
with Marsha yesterday and then afterward we went to go
eat at Legos and then we did some Man on
the Street interviews about one night stands.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
So she's said, is that something that she's into?
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Well, she's married now, okay, but you got to listen
to the to the episode because G. G. Maguire's on there.
Jasmine brand is on there talking about some of their
one night stands. Oh really as well, what's up Jasmine?
Speaker 10 (09:12):
Uh? Oh?
Speaker 2 (09:12):
All right, Well anyway, that's what I did last night
and today I have a busy day ahead of me too.
I'm about to go to this New Majority luncheon that
I'm the keynote speaker.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
At always a keynote when we come back, always getting honored.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
You're getting honored though tomorrow, and we're gonna talk about
that because I got some questions from Maino Day. All right,
it's way up with Angela ye. That was about last night.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
You way up with Angela ye.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
More Now what's up his way yup with Angela ye,
angela yee. And Mano's in the building. By the way,
An email just came through. Maino teams up a young
Doug for latest single poetry.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Oh wow, look at that.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
This email just came through. Oh and the video is
is out?
Speaker 3 (09:55):
You didn't tell I didn't know tomorrow, ma, I thought
it was coming out tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
I would have told you. This is the first place I.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Said, the Premier's February twenty second, that's today. That's today
yet at nine pm. So when you click on the link,
oh in it, I see you in due.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Well not only that, but main No.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Day, Main No Day.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Talk to me about this.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
The city's honoring me, giving me my own day in Brooklyn.
They gave me the opportunity to choose to day. So
I chose my mother's birthday, August sixteenth. You know, so
tomorrow we're having a ceremony you know where they officially
you know.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Give me the proclamation and where is this going to
take place?
Speaker 4 (10:36):
In brooklyn Borough Hall?
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Okay? And what do you want to do for August sixteenth? Move?
Speaker 3 (10:42):
You know, I was even thinking about taking the page
out of your book because you know, you got angela
ye day. I wanted to do like a block party,
like directly in my hood, right, you know, maybe like
Marcy Avenue. If I can't block up no string and
maybe if I could block off two blocks and really,
you know, do something for the kids. Really, I definitely
want to have a stage out there for the local artists. Okay,
you know, and you know, just have you know, just
(11:03):
have a time though, you know. And definitely I want
to salute my mother on her birthday, you know, every birthday, August.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Sixteen, Yeah, definitely, I have an idea we should pair
up on both days. Maybe we do a day of service,
right and then I do my thing. My day is
August twenty eighth, right, but you know I do that
whole big thing.
Speaker 9 (11:22):
Right.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
We could do a little you know, something for both
We can collaborate, Yeah, we should collab some sponsors because
we're both from Brooklyn.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Yeah, sponsor, But I like.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
That something in the black parties are such a big
deal right in Brooklyn.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Yeah, definitely block parties.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
You know, we haven't had any really good ones in
a whe That's.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
The thing though. You notice that they don't have block
parties like they used toe.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
My Black party. I had side for everybody in my
black our Black parties week though. You know what I'm saying,
nobody be outside.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
The street is just blocked off, and then nobody's investing
in it. In the jungle gym for the kids, nobody's
doing a lot of stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
I need to be on the committee.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Yeah, I think you know what it is.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
I think every block you've got the opportunity to do
that if you're from that block, right right, So if
you're block nobody is on nothing, then I guess it
ain't on nothing.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
And the gentrification too, because sometimes when you have people
moving into neighborhoods, they don't understand the whole idea of
like block parties. Yeah, a block party outside, but then
sometimes you go to certain places it's be like a
bunch of white people standing outside with a bear. You're like,
what's going on? This isn't what we grew up with.
That's crazy, all right, but congratulations again, man, that's exciting.
(12:27):
August sixteenth is officially May No Day. You're getting your
official proclamation tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
We're going out there shout out the Robbie suits. I
was gonna say, what's we're gonna suit in and we
don't putting this suit on, you know, making my speech,
we should definitely shout out the Robbie suits.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
All right, So that's happening. Plus the new single is
out tomorrow too.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Your videos coming out to day and I don't even.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Know tonight tonight, all right, all right, Well that is
May No August sixteenth. Make sure y'all hit them up
and show my guys love. All right, and when we
come back, we have your yet. And let's talk about
j Cole. He has new music on the way Polus.
He has a vlogout. You know, we love to see it.
Anything J Cole related. It's way up.
Speaker 7 (13:07):
Sure, she's about to blow the lid ab off this,
but let's get it. Oh yeah, Angela's feeling that yee tea,
come and get the tea.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
What's up his way up? But Angela, yee, I'm Angela
Yee and new manot to some ye t. Yeah you
ready for some new J Cole?
Speaker 4 (13:23):
I love J Cole? All right?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Well, he has a new vlog out. He put it
out through a burner account on Instagram, and he's talking
about a lot of different things on there. For instance, right,
he does want to get back into producing, but there's
an issue. Here's what he said, a desire.
Speaker 6 (13:37):
Like, man, I want to get back to making beast.
But then I'm like, yo, it's been so long and
I've been putting so much work in on the rest
that like I'm so far behind them and the worst
I've ever been, you know what I mean, Just because
it's like, yo, I don't do this at all.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
Because he ain't been doing it in a while.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Yeah, he feel a little rusty, but that also might
give you like a fresh perspective when you haven't done it,
and then you get back to doing it right.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
Because you got a clear mind and everything is brand new,
all right.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
In addition to that, he also put out a teaser
for a new song. I know people are so excited
for this new album. He hasn't put out a new
project since the off season back in twenty twenty one,
but the fall Off is coming. We don't have a
release date yet, but here's a snippet of some new music.
Speaker 11 (14:17):
You know, it's money that you only get phoning in
on why Queen Phoenix walked on the line I'm about cash,
Benjamin getting younger as the hours passed, should do the
Freshman cover twice. I'm never outclassed. It's not a rap
with the breathing that out last the fall Off. It
is like hole dropping reasonal down last.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Okay. What I like about Jay Cole is that he'll
pop up like randomly on somebody's song, like, oh, I
didn't even know he was.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
I like that he does songs with people unexpect it,
Like you wouldn't expect him to do a song with
you know, and be a young boy.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Yeah, and you know what I remember, I'll never forget this.
Bia was talking about working with him in the studio
and how he made her feel so safe and protected,
you know, and even money long when she discussed j
Cole coming in and she was like talking crazy about
something and he was like the energy was off, you know,
he don't like to talk about people, and she had
(15:07):
to check herself. She said, yeah, I think that's dope though.
It just shows who he is as a person. All right. Now,
Wendy Williams, that lifetime docuseries Where Is Wendy Williams is
coming out on Saturday, and they do have an exclusive
clip with people that show some of the things that
will be really like, you know, it'll warm your heart.
Even though it's difficult and family members are concerned about
(15:30):
her struggles with mental health and alcoholism and graves disease
and all of that, there are some some really heartfelt
moments and here's one with Black China and this exclusive teaser.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
I like recently been changing my life since you know,
like who last spoke.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
You've always been like honest with me and like put
me in my place, you know what I mean, in
like the most motherly kind way. That's why I love
you so much, so do I. All Right? And lastly,
you know, since we're talking about Wendy Williams, let's talk
about the Sherry Show. This was some really sad and
unfortunate news. The executive in charge of Sherry Shepherd's show
(16:08):
was found dead in his home on February thirteenth, According
to a source who confirmed this to Page six, his
main job, matt Olso was to manage production and oversee
the budget, but he was under investigation at the time
of his tragic death. They said, people have been complaining
about issues with petty cash and then it was brought
to the parent company's attention that rent at their studio
(16:30):
had not been paid since September and there was a
real concern that the show was getting shut down and
they actually had to step in. So I guess it
has something to do with the investigation, and it looks
like it was what they're saying right now. It looks
like a suicide, but they're investigating. You know. They said
the police performed a welfare check after no one heard
from him, and that's when they found him dead. So
(16:51):
those are all the details that we know as of now.
Really sad. All right, Well that is your yet and
when we come back, we have under the radar. These
are the stories that are not necessary and the headlines
they're flying under the radar. And this first story affected
me today. I didn't know what was going on with
my phone service. Will tell you about it, and under
the radar it's way up.
Speaker 7 (17:09):
God got news this in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
What's up? Its way up at Angela Yee, I'm Angela yee.
Mano's in the building all right, And there was a
major cell phone outage. It's still going on and right now,
right now, I have AT and T, but it's AT
and T, T Mobile, and Verizon, all those companies have
been hit by a cellular outage in the United States.
AT and T has the largest number of issues, with
nearly thirty two thousand reports. Let me tell you something,
(17:38):
I don't even know how to do a report I got.
I left my house today and my phone just wasn't
working right.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
I didn't even know it was an outage. They said
T Mobile was in that too, Yep.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
T Mobile, Verizon, AT and T uses. My phone keeps
saying SOS mode if I'm not.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
On a Wi Fi MOS was working.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Well, I'm happy for you, but it was really hard.
I thought it was just my phone. I was like,
did I not pay my bill? Because you know that's
the first thing you think, yes, when they tell you
they're about to cut it off. Yeah, I have mine
on auto pen. I got tired of that because it's
so embarrassing. I got tired on my phone getting cut
off all the time, middle to night, all right, and
Minnesota convicted felon was arrested yesterday and that was for
(18:14):
the murder of a Los Angeles based model, Melissa Melissa Mooney.
She's actually the sister of Guyanese pop star Jordan Pauline.
And so if you recall the story, she was found
dead last year in September when LAPD conducted a welfare
check at her apartment in downtown LA. Her mouth was gagged,
her wrists and ankles were bound together. She was actually
(18:35):
stepped inside of her refrigerator. And this is Jordan Pauline's sister, right,
And so apparently they did find Magnus Daniel Humphrey. He
was picked up by the police on an unrelated warrant
and he was identified as a suspect responsible for that
brutal slaying. And so they have officially filed murdered charges
against Humphrey and he'll be going back to LA to
(18:56):
face charges. And so they have not revealed with that
relationship is between Humphrey and Mooney. But he had been
on probation for federal narcotic offenses after being released from
prison on February seventh, and he's been convicted of several
felonies in Minnesota and Illinois.
Speaker 10 (19:11):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Yes, but I know the family has been really like
wanting some type of accountability for what happened to her.
So even though this is like the worst thing that
you could imagine happening, I'm glad that they were able
to at least find the person who was responsible. All right,
Well that is you're under the radar now. You know,
we got hit Maker joining us today. Plus we got
(19:34):
the Way Up mixed at the top of the hour.
It's way up at Angela Yee. She's like to talk
like they Angela Jean, like they Angela Jee.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
Man, She's spilling it all. This is YETI.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Way what's up is way up at Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee. Maynos in the builders. All right, Kanye's first
independent album made over one million dollars in the first week.
That album with Ti Dallas sign it got close to
one hundred and sixty nine million on demand streams in
the United States, and so congratulations to.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
Him on that put this out hisself.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Yeah, it's independent, and so most of that money that
he earned came from streaming that's about eight hundred and
ninety two thousand dollars. And then there was a little
extra from sales. And then they're saying that Kanye and
tit Ali sign probably gave up about five percent for distribution,
which is on the high end. That would mean they
would take home around a million dollars in one week.
(20:30):
By the way, not a bad you know, not a
bad flip there, Yeah, not a bad flip all right now.
Kodak Black, he was released from jail after two months.
He was arrested in December twenty twenty three. Remember he
was found sleeping behind the wheel of an suv. Well,
he did get out of the Miami Federal Detention Center
yesterday and apparently he did not like journalists trying to
(20:52):
cover his release and was throwing rocks. Here is what
one of the journalists, one of the reporters, had to say.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Not only did he get a rest of with my photographer,
but he actually started throwing rocks at this photographer simply
doing his job.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
Kodak Black started throwing rocks.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Now, according to the network, they also are saying that
he threatened to attack rash Low, who was a veteran
reporter who was at the scene, so you know you're
still on probation. I mean, he violated the terms of
his supervised release and you kind of just gotta understand
we got.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
Out there, right, he ain't want them in his face
like that.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Yeah, and you know that's why you need security to
just cover you and and and you stand behind them.
So not a good thing to do right now though.
That's tough, all right. So now Lathan sat down with
Jennifer Hudson and talked about joining Curb Your Enthusiasm. We
both love that show and we both love so not Lathan,
I do, I do too to make sure, Okay, I
(21:48):
didn't want to speak for you, but them. Okay, well
you're going to love her on Curb your Enthusiasm. And
so here's what you have to say about that.
Speaker 8 (21:57):
It was such a surprise and so scary actually, because
they don't have scripts.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
If they just tell you the situation and it's action. Yeah,
I mean, that is scary. It's the final season.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Final season of a legendary show.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
I know you love Larry David. He's you like the
fact that he's a Can I say the word a jerk,
We'll just say jerk.
Speaker 6 (22:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
He finds itself in these situations, man, you know, and
he kind of like doesn't let thinks.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
He's very petty, Yeah, very petty. But it always comes
back to him that karma be hitting him all the
time too.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
That's what makes it funny though, because he does he's
not always the victor in the situation.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
It also feels like he has some type of disorder.
Remember Chris Rock was saying he had like that disorder
where he doesn't have like any type of feeling. It
feels like he has that.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
Right right, So he even said that, he said he
has humans he hates itself.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
All right, Well that is your yee t. And when
we come back, we have ask ye eight hundred two
nine fifty one fifty is a number any question you have.
We're here to help.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
It's way up of this relationship for career advice. Angela's
dropping facts.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
This is ASD what's up? It's way up with Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee and Mano is here and it's time
for asking.
Speaker 10 (23:10):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is the number. Hello,
who's this Hey?
Speaker 9 (23:15):
How you doing?
Speaker 6 (23:16):
My name is John Doe.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Okay, listening to this all right, John Doe, you know
your voice? Call you John Doe. Me know what's your question.
Speaker 9 (23:25):
I'm with my baby mama. But me and my ex
wife just started like back reconnecting.
Speaker 6 (23:31):
I love them both.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Why did you and your ex wife break up?
Speaker 6 (23:36):
I was young, dumb?
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Okay? And does she have a situation? Does she have
a situation right now? Is she with somebody else?
Speaker 6 (23:44):
She is not?
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (23:45):
She just got back from serious Oh wow?
Speaker 2 (23:48):
And so now if I asked you, you have a choice.
You have a child over here with this woman who
you love, but you have your ex so you have
a history with you guys broke up because you were
young and dumb. Who do you feel like is a
better match for youth?
Speaker 12 (24:01):
They both of them, And I wish I had a
way besides the lion and cheating way to let them
both know that I want to both.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
You do have a way to do that, brother. You
just got to sit them both down, right, This is
what you do. You sit them down individually first, and
you tell them how much you love them and how
much you don't want to live this life without them.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
You don't want to be on the earth without this person. Right.
But then you also tell up exactly what you want. Listen.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
I think that we should be all together. I don't
know about that, and everybody lives in one house. I'm
telling you it works.
Speaker 9 (24:39):
I got the capital. They can be done.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Okay, that can be done. Now now we're talking.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
One of them might be like, I'm not doing anything.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
No, if she loves him, if they love him the
way they that he loves them, then it can happen.
You just gotta be honest about it because the sneaking
around and all that is not gonna work. Do they
know each other, they know about each.
Speaker 9 (24:58):
Other the work I live in the country. I think
they could.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Okay, you didn't leave with that, not say that part?
Oh wow, oh my god.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
First cousins though, right.
Speaker 9 (25:15):
Like way down the line, like my uncle raised your
daughters so that we could.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
You can make that so many kids with your ex.
Speaker 9 (25:21):
I do two of them.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
I think honesty is always the best policy, and it
may not end up with you being with both of them,
you know the way that you want to, because they're
gonna find out and then now there's children involved, you
have to think about how this could affect family dynamics.
And we respect a man a whole lot more when
he could be honest and tell us what's going on,
so that we have a decision to make. Do I
(25:44):
want to continue like this or do I not? And
now I have a decision, so it's on me. But
we respect that way more than somebody sneaking around and
getting caught.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
That makes sense.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
We both saying the same thing.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
It's gonna work out.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
I'm telling you can work. Honesty is freedom. You give
them the option to stay or.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Keep it in the family.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Listen, just be very honest man, and you know, take
them out and then you know, introduce them to each other.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
But that's the main thing. When you take away our
power to choose, right, hate that.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
Right right, give them the opportunity to choose.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
But John Doe, we wish you luck, all right.
Speaker 9 (26:21):
Thank you, appreciate y'all. May no, we want to use it.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
You got to pay attention. We got some out there
right now. But check this out. Call us back when
it's all three of y'all.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
I just wouldn't say, you know, if that was a woman,
I was doing the same thing, you would have judged. Okay, okay,
I just want to put that out there. But thank
you John Doe.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
Thank y'all.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
All right, but that was ask ye eight hundred and
two ninety two fifty one fifty. In case you couldn't
get through, you could leave a message. Will answer your
question that way. And when we come back, hip Maker
is going to be joining us.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
It's way up, volume up, y'all.
Speaker 7 (26:55):
Be way up with Angela, break them break them down
more now.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Oh man, it's way up with Angela. You begetting it
started already. Jasmine Brand is here with me and head
Makers in the building.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
Yeah, we back, We're back.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
I feel like every time there's a new announcement. All right.
So we got to talk about some things. So Empire,
are you still VPAA and are at Empire?
Speaker 4 (27:17):
I've recently just part of ways with Empire.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
All right? And was this to start your own label?
Speaker 4 (27:21):
Yeah? For sure.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
It wasn't like we had any bad blood or anything
going on. I worked for Empire for three years, so
my contract was ending. So instead of like ringing up,
I just decided to step out and do my own
joint venture for my artists and kind of like create
my own Empire, no pun intended.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
For real, We are going to get back to make
a sound record because I know that's your baby right now,
and that's what you care a lot about. But we
also watched very publicly U and Tink go through it
but also come back together, Yeah, which we love. I
was excited for a Chicago love story at first. I'm
not gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
And you'd have been with us behind the scenes. Two
And you know what I'm saying, Like, I love teeing.
Everybody know that or whatever. But I think that we
go through trials and trivulations and we're growing up like,
and we're all in front of the public like, and
it just comes with it. But at the same token, man,
we got a new album on the way, Winner's Diary five,
which is like her Coke classic for all her fans.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
The album's done. I executive produced it as well.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
And I think he's still working together. That's important.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yeah, I think that's gonna be the biggest album of
her career. Like, we got so many crazy features and
so many great records on this one.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
So did she write some stuff about you on there?
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah, writes she not. She writes songs about me in
every every album. That's why I'm just like, yo, Like,
people be like, do you be listening to that. I'm like, Yo,
you know I got to mix and master all these records.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
Yo, where she's going bad?
Speaker 2 (28:35):
She ever sang, I'm saying something on a record, you
like really.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
Yeah all the time, I ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
She hit me and she's like, we should do a
record called can Con and just talking about I'm like, absolutely,
that's yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
That's where I crossed to learn.
Speaker 9 (28:48):
I would want to.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Hear, like, YO, play that. Did you really try to
charge your two million dollars some music? I was disappointed.
I was like, come on now, sir, what.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Was the amount I'm not gonna get into mount.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Look have it pay you for a whole label?
Speaker 1 (29:04):
You know, the reality of a whole situation is that
we're partners, you know what I'm saying, But you know,
when personal things come into the play, it kind of
got a little bit crazy. So we stopped speaking at
that time, you know what I'm saying. And then when
she saw me in cant coun that was her first
time seeing me in like four or five months. It
was just a coincidental. I swear to God, can't make
this up. We were at the same place, same time,
(29:26):
by the way, so.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
That was her natural did your heart stop.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
Like it was crazy because like we weren't talking, we
weren't like and I was with women.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
It was just me by.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Myself with girls or whatever. So I tried to be
as respectful as possible. I told the girls, let's wrap
this food up, let's get up out of here, you
know what I'm saying, Let's go about our own ways.
But you know, it ended up hitting the ceiling, you know,
in that situation. And she's still a girl from Chicago,
so I can't take that. It's she reminded me too,
So at that point, I just, you know, tried to
(29:56):
let cooler heads prevail and we were able to come
back to the table and as far as the big
since anything that was going on, we end up making
that right and like we're good and we got a
new album on the way.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Right now, I'm here with Jasmine Brand and hip Maker
is in the building. It feels like you do really
well when it comes to handling your business. When are
you going to transport that into your personal life?
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Yo, I'm I'm a work in progress, and you know
what I'm saying, I'm growing. I'm growing every day, man,
work progress. The therapist said that I'm doing better, and
you know, I'm going to therapy now, so yeah, I'm
trying to take it there. You know, I'm trying to
be a better man and as well as the great,
the best business man as possible.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
You know.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
I think that being where I am and where I
came from, I.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Put a lot of focus into the business and didn't
really consider how it was as a person. So I'm
working on myself daily for real.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
How long have you been going to therapy?
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Probably like the last like eight months. That's good.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
So do you feel like things have changed for you
as far as your perspective.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Yeah, I'm way more laid back, like I'm not as
crazy as I used to be or whatever. Because I
think that when you go through trials and tribulations and trauma,
you end up having a chip on your show. So
a lot of your reactions are based about your past trauma.
But for me, like to step back and look at
myself from where I was to where I am now,
when the growth and the success I have, it's no
reason for me to have any chip on my shoulder.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
I just got to lead with love at all times.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Hit Makers here we're talking about his new label make
a sound and new artists that he has signed to
him as well as all of the accomplishments that he's
had in real life, and also some relationship drama, maybe
some therapy. It's way yep, we got more with hit
Maker when we come back.
Speaker 5 (31:28):
You must y'all be way up with.
Speaker 7 (31:29):
Angela ye break them down more.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Now, what's up this way? But Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee.
Jasmine brand is here and hip makers in the building.
All right, So let's talk about the new label making
Sound Records. So tell us about when this was conceived,
when you knew you were going to start this, and
then the steps you took to make it happen.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
So, I mean me and my partner Krishan, we're making sound.
His company was right Now Sound and I'm hit Makers.
So Krishan came together and said, you know what, make
it sound like? It got a nice ring to let's
do that. So we came together like probably in two
thousand and sixteen, and.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
We've been on a string of hits.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
Like our first song in Me and Krishawn ever did
was Chris Brown Party Feature and Gucci Man and Usher.
So this year is like the year for me to
really go hard and break an artist and break something
off make a sound, because we broke a lot of
different artists on other labels.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
And I saw you put out you know that you
were looking for a producer? Yeah, always okay, So did
you find anybody when you do stuff like that?
Speaker 1 (32:25):
I'm not gonna lie in is that email is so flooded.
I want to if anybody that's listening right now, look
we sing your best. Don't send no bs man sing
cause it can get tiring because I'm actually trying to
listen to the beats myself. I'm really hands on with
everything I do, so a lot of people will be
like give it to an intern or give it to
somebody else, like flush through this email. I'm actually listening
(32:46):
to it and kind of get burnt that out for
a while. But I think I found too that I'm
really saw about it.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
What about investments that you have personally outside of this business.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
To be honest, like before, like I came in my
parents kind of like open it or like they were
very successful as me being a child. So like as
far as real estate in Chicago goes, I probably own
probably like thirty or forty buildings. Will my father be
have a whole real estate company. So I don't even
make a majority of my I make more money out
of ancillary things than that my actual you know what
(33:16):
I'm saying. First thing, But I actually did recently last
year sell a piece of my catalog too, So that.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Was like, and I want you to explain that to
because some people feel like, oh, don't sell your catalog,
don't sell your publishing. But we see a lot of
huge artists doing that right now. So what was behind
your to me?
Speaker 1 (33:33):
If you have a vision for longevity and you think
you're gonna be around for a long time, and I
think you should always make a catalog. I treat a
catalog like a business you created, created, created to sell it,
to do it all over again. So I sold a
portion of that catalog, But as we see, I'm already
creating a whole new catalog right now that's untouched, that
can be sold again or given to my kids whenever
I decide to have some. So I think it's a
(33:55):
it's a smart O say that.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Baby hip, make baby maker.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
I think it's gonna it's gonna happen, man, coming soon.
It should.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
I'm at a point to where I feel like I
could have a kid maybe a couple of years ago.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Upen Like hell, nobody ever tried to come to you, like,
by the way, this your kid?
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Nah, because like I gotta mean, pull out game. I'm
won't put a condom everybody.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Every guy, I gotta mean put every guy that says
that it is a dad.
Speaker 6 (34:23):
I'm not. I wanted was.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Everybody said it is a dad? Right now, I'm here
with Jasmine Brand and hip Maker is in the building.
I also saw you on the Butler Alert podcast. Why
you do that? Shout out to my people's a Butler
Alert that name.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
No, it's just like, what's what's next? I don't know
what you're about to say?
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Go ahead, because I saw you said you had five
different women tattooed on you. Now let's just say you
start seriously being with somebody and they were like, you
gotta cover these up?
Speaker 4 (34:51):
No, why would I do that?
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Maybe they don't want to see I don't want another
woman's name on you.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
I mean, you gotta take me as I am. You got.
If you want me, you gotta break whatever she.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Has her excess tatted on her.
Speaker 4 (35:04):
I'm not really an insecure man like that.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
You know if it was something that you was tatted on,
you like to me, I feel like all my tattoos
is like a moment in time to where I was.
I'm not mad at these people.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
I'm not mad.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
It wasn't a bad falling out with these women. It's
just like a time stamp in my life. So if
you got a problem with that, then we're gonna have
big problems because the tattoo is the last thing.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
When she used to date Chris Brown and it was
his face right here and every time.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Now you're doing a lot. Yeah, bro, I don't want
to see my dog.
Speaker 8 (35:32):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
You gotta cover that.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
And we don't have to cover that. But a lot
of my tattoos and the names they real discreet. So
unless I really tell you, like right here, you know
what I'm saying, Like, it's not like I got Stephanie
right across my chest, so I got some name on
my forehead, it's like very discreet.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Do you have Tank on you?
Speaker 8 (35:50):
No?
Speaker 2 (35:51):
You guys still work together, so that could happen.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Yeah, for sure. And I wouldn't put Take. I'll put
Trinity if I was Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
All right, Well, anyway, thank you again, make a Sound Records.
So when when can we expect Ronnie and Tooyenne's potact.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
You can expect that early on late spring, early summer.
I'm also dropping my producer album and it's some of
my first single off my producer album. It's called Pray
for Me featuring Chris Brown and Gucci Main. So be
on the lookout for that. Man videos, everything coming soon,
and I'm about to just let all my artists go
at the same time as well with my with my single,
so we can go and we can touch the town
and summer time and turn things up all right.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
You can watch that full interview on my YouTube channel
Way Up with You And when we come back, you
guys have the last word.
Speaker 5 (36:30):
Take up the phone, tap in and get your voice heard.
What the word is? He's the last word on Way
Up with Angela.
Speaker 6 (36:38):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
What's up is Way up at Angela Yee? I'm Angela
Yee and Mana's in the building. Mana, honestly, you're like
one of my best friends. We really say that.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
A lot of people don't know that, like you really
really and that's why the show works because we really
have a real tight.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Relationship, right, and you could check me in, I could
check you.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
I checked though.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Yeah that's true. But you don't want to be messing.
Speaker 4 (36:59):
Up, right. But you like a bad friend though, like
you just you just influenced me to do shots in
the morning.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
We are actually celebrating you getting your own day. The
ceremony is tomorrow. The day is August sixteenth, but the
actual proclamation you'll be getting that tomorrow. So I cannot
wait to see what you have.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
On yeh man.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Shout out to Robbie Suits one more time, man, like,
I'm so proud of you. He got us, he got
us together for the lobby boys. You gonna cover shoot
the other day we have on suits.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
And I saw that, okay clean, And I do want
to say somebody told me over the weekend, somebody was like, yeah, Angela,
mayno day. Maynos Angela. They were like, absolutely not. And
I hate that people even say that because we've been
friends for such a long time and it's quite possible.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
And plus, you know, you know, you know, some of
your friends.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
May have been you know, all right, calming down. But anyway,
thank you to hit makup for joining us today. I
cannot wait to hear about Mano and his new day.
It's right, you know, it's a new day. And of course,
as usual, you guys have the last word.
Speaker 8 (38:02):
I want to shine a light on myself. My name
is Rhonda Wharton and I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
You know, I'm a physical therapist in this area, and
me and my sisters we try to leave the community.
If someone in the community comes to us and recommend
someone for assistance, we always go out and try to
(38:23):
help the family. It takes more time to be means
than it does kind.
Speaker 7 (38:29):
It's some time talk about the triber you tapped in
and way up with angela ye, not wanting now now
