Speaker 1 (00:01):
You are now.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
So it's Angela what I call her ye.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Way up. It is day one. I'm Angela yee and
Meno's here.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
Yeah, and that's day one of your fast slash detals.
Speaker 5 (00:22):
It's happening.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
You're feeling good.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
Today's the first day firsday all right. Shout out to
Sydney who was just in the room. She just today
was her last day of the two week detalk. So
looking good. Now today we do have a special guest
joining us, Arian Simone. She is the founder of the
Fearless Fund. Interesting thing happening right now. So this is
the first ever VC fund for women of color. That
(00:47):
was it was the first time that a firm run
by women of color invests exclusively in tech and consumer
goods companies owned by women of color. But unfortunately, you know,
they're trying to say that there's a lawsuit against them,
saying that this is like some type of discriminatory practice,
you know, funding for women of color, which makes no
(01:09):
sense to me. But it's a federal civil rights suit
that was brought by Edward Blum. He's the person that
is also trying to make sure that there's no more affirmative.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Action, right He got some issues, so she'll.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Be joining us and letting you know what's going on
with that. She has a march happening in DC on
the fourteenth, March fourteenth, so we've got to make sure
we're aware of that and spread information because this is
going to have an effect way past you know, just
the Fearless Fund, all right. But in the meantime, let's
spread some love and positivity. Let's shine a light. Eight
hundred and two nine two fifty one fifty is a number.
(01:43):
Call us up and let us know who you want
to shine a light on.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Its way up, Shine, shine, turn your lights on, y'all
spreading love to those who are doing greatness.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Kind of light on, Shine a light on. It's time
to shine a light on them.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
It's way up. A many mano's in the building. Good morning,
You got your coconut weater?
Speaker 5 (02:05):
You ready got it right here?
Speaker 3 (02:06):
All right? Well, let's shine a light.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Now, let's shine a light on some students who started
a gofund me page. This is at Providence College. They
raised nearly twenty thousand dollars. You know what that was for.
That was for their school security guard to get a
trip of a lifetime. The dorm security guard. They wanted
to give him a trip home to Nigeria. He works
four overnight shifts per week on campus. He hasn't seen
his family in eleven years.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yes, they raised almost twenty thousand dollars.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
That was a good gesture, you know.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
They said, he's the kind of soul anyone has ever
met in this building.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
He means so much to us, he's so important.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
It was amazing how fast everyone connected and were able
to put it together for him.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
That maybe we would do something like that for Navy.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Oh yeah, he runs out. We could set a gofund
me to help pay for Dan's wedding. Oh yeah, he's excited.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Look at that.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
He was like, yes, please forget Navy. You guys could
split it all right. Well, that is who we want
to shine a light on. Now, who do you want
to shine a light on? Eight hundred and two ninety fifty, Maria,
Who you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 6 (03:07):
I would like to shine a light on my primary
care doctor. Who's a black doctor.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
His name mean Ryan Roadrick.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Okay, so you love your primary care doctor.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
I love him.
Speaker 7 (03:23):
It's about all your concerns.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
You don't want doctors, say I get you out the door.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
You know, a lot of times you're in a rush,
you have to wait a long time, then you go
in and then it's in and out.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
But you don't feel that way.
Speaker 7 (03:37):
And then I'll tell him about all my concerns.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
And Melton.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Is what Yeah, no, but your primary care doctor. What's
his name again, Ryan Rodrick?
Speaker 1 (03:49):
He said, ask him out the fourth manner.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
All right, Well, thank you for calling.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
I'm glad that you're able to talk to your doctor,
that he takes his time with you, that you feel seen,
you can ask any questions you want. That is so important.
I've never had anybody call up here and say that.
All right, thank you, Maria. Oh all right, well that
was Shina Light eight hundred two nine two fifty fifty
just in case you couldn't get through.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
And when we come back, we have your yee t.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
The oscars were last night, and one thing that everyone
was talking about is John Cina.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
He was but booty naked. We'll talk about it.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
It's way up from industry shade to all of gossip out.
Angelas is feeling that EyeT.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Yeah, it's way up on Angela yee and Mano's in
the building Mana, yeah, mana, did you watch any of
the Oscars yesterday red carpet? You know, I love me
some Erica Alexander. Love the way her hair looks. She
was talking to Entertainment Tonight's and Michelle Turner, and here's
what you have to say, as she got emotional about
her career resurgence.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I hope you can enjoy every single bit of it.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
I am girl, I'm about to cry.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
I'm so happy.
Speaker 8 (04:53):
I am.
Speaker 9 (04:54):
I think I'd be as overwhelmed, but I just feel
really grateful now to have last this long.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
It's forty years this year, and.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
You know, American Fiction got a ton of nominations, but
it also won for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
So that's what she was in. It's now.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Jimmy Kimmo responded to Donald Trump because I guess Donald
Trump was watching the Oscars and he thought that Jimmy
Kimmel was a terrible host. Of course, he went on
social media to express how he felt about Jimmy Kimmel
as a host, and here's how Jimmy Kimmo responded.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Oh, thank you, President Trump, thank you for watching.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
I'm surprised you're still isn't it past your jail time.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Not funny, That was Funnyump said.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Has there ever been a worst host than Jimmy Kimmel
at the Ascars? Its opening was that of a lesson
average person trying too hard to be something which he
is not, and never can be get rid of Kimmel
and perhaps replace him with another washed up but cheap
ABC talent. Oh my gosh, Trump, Okay, Sarah, sorry you
weren't invited.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
How you hearing from outside the car? Get in? All right?
Speaker 4 (06:01):
In addition to that, I haven't seen Oppenheimer, but I
mean it really won a whole lot of awards.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
We need to watch it.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
I it was really good.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Best p's like seventeen.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Hours, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actor in
a Supporting Role. I mean they definitely Best Director. But
now let's talk about Best Actress in a Supporting Role,
and that went to uh Davine and Joy Randolph for
the Holdovers.
Speaker 10 (06:29):
I didn't think I was supposed to be doing this
as a career. I started off as a singer. My
mother said to me, go across that street to that
theater department. There's something for you there. And I thank
my mother for doing that for for so long. I've
always wanted to be different and now I realize I
(06:51):
just need to be myself.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Oh I love it. So congratulations to her. By the way,
there haven't been a lot of black women who are
one for Best Supporting Actress, so you know, always nice
to see it, all right, And John Cena was naked
at the Awards. Now, humiliation is trending on Twitter right now.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Have you seen that?
Speaker 4 (07:13):
And that's because of John Cena being naked at the awards.
People are saying that he sold out his soul by
performing a humiliation ritual at the Oscars. They said, I'm
sure John Cena, when he wanted to become a wrestling
superstar and get Mustley, didn't intend on waking, walking around
naked or putting on a dress that was Andrew Tates
speaking on John Cena, calling it a humiliation ritual, but.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
It was supposed to be all in fun.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Yeah, they're paying homage to the naked man who ran
on stage during the nineteen seventy four ceremony. Jimmy Kimmel
in the opening monologue said how wild it would be
if someone streaked across the stage and then that happened,
and then it was a whole little skit, you know,
of him not wanting to go on stage like that.
Hopefully you guys also watched that prime movie that he's in.
What was it called Ricky KINNICKI, oh stera Nicky Ricky Stinicky.
(08:00):
I watched that over the weekend, all right. And then
there was a moment of uh, some issues as al
Pacino was announcing the Best Picture award, but he forgot
to announce the nominees.
Speaker 8 (08:12):
Only one will take the award for Best Picture and
I have to go to the envelope for that, and
Maria Oppenheimer.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
Skip past the nominade not here.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
He was like, all right, all right, well that is
your yut. And when we come back, we have about
last night. That's where we discussed what we did last night.
I actually used one eighth got junk for the person
you have. All right, we'll talk about It's way up,
So about.
Speaker 2 (08:42):

Speaker 11 (08:54):

your girl Mo.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Mo shoo that. Okay, Oh that's nice. You're getting ready though,
for your fast and tack. So it starts today.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
So what did you do.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
Over the weekend? I ate like an animal.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
You're not supposed to bang. You're supposed to what.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
The traded Joe's and got all of it. You ever
had the brownie cookie?
Speaker 3 (09:18):
A brownie cookie?
Speaker 5 (09:19):

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Oh my god, I think I have had those. God
must have it's brownie cookies. It's the very, very chocolate.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
Oh man. All right, well I had to go out
with a bang though.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Okay, well it starts today. I'm gonna be watching you.
Speaker 11 (09:34):
I gave you some cocon I took my drops, I
got my coconut water, and it's on.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
It's all about discipline.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
All right.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Well for me this weekend, First of all, I still
am like a little congested and sick.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
But I was cleaning all weekend.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
I have tenants moving in this week, so I had
to do all kinds of stuff. This is when being
a homeowner is annoying, because there's a lot of things
you have to do on your own. I was cleaning
out my whole basement and then I had to call
on got junk.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Everybody from one.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
Yeah, I was reading the reviews, like I saw some
people were saying that very expensive. But let me tell
you something, it's definitely worth it. Because when you're trying
to get rid of stuff in the house and you're like,
all right, I gotta handle my bad.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
You don't want to do it. You don't want to
do the work.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
But shout out to Jason and Ray from one A
hundred got junk. They came and they got everything out
of I had to get rid of it. I had
to get a new dish washer and stuff. I actually
went picked up the.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Trunk.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Yeah, I had to get the old one I'm disposed of.
And then I had just I had paperwork from the
year two thousand.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
Recess, basically like a order.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
You know, I guess so because you know, you think, like,
I can't get rid of this in case I get audited.
I definitely don't don't need that. But I had to
get rid of so many things. So I'm just glad
that no, no old beans. I don't eat beans either. See,
it's not food problem for me, it's just paperwork.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
I had like receipts from you know, being on tour
with WU tang like I had. I had receipts from
being on the Anger Management tour. I had like the
oh yeah, just all these different things I've done. I
was like, some of this I should keep because it's
hard to determine what do I keep and what do
I get rid of. I mean, it's a nice memory.
It's like the tour book from Anger Management.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
That's you've had the tour book.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
That's cool, mm and so. And then I had the
tour book from the Rock the Mic tour.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
So good to keep because when it goes in the museum.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Yeah, it was pretty dope. But anyway, that's what I
did all weekend. And now I'm like congested. All right,
well that is about last night. Now you know what
we're gonna do when we come back, right, tell us
a secret we love on Monday, because we got to
start the week off right with these secrets. And you
see Mayno's hair, y'all be like, if Mayno's not here,
where's Mano?
Speaker 3 (11:54):
We miss Mayno?
Speaker 4 (11:55):
But he's here today, all right, So call us up.
Eight hundred two nine to fifty one fifty tell us
a secret again. That's eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty. Tell us a secret. It's no judgment. You're anonymous.
It's way up.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
This is a judgment. Freezer, tell us a secret.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
It's way up.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
At Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee and Mano is here now. Yeah,
we need you guys to call us up and tell
us a secret.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
It's no judgment. You're anonymous.

Cheese turkey bigan right the first.
Speaker 6 (12:36):

egg and cheese, but then I found out it was bacon,
egg and cheese. And I haven't been back.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
Stop law, you can stop for law.
Speaker 6 (12:48):
It feels good to be able to talk somebody. But
I'm about to go order one right now.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Oh my gosh, is that the only thing you eat bacon?
Or do you eat like pepperoni or your pizza anything else?
Speaker 6 (13:00):
I stayed away from port and I had a baking
egg and cheese by accident, but now it's on.
Speaker 5 (13:05):
Purpose, you got a real Muslim then.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
I mean, I did it to protect my folk while
I was in jail.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
But oh, he's a sucker.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
Okay, so you're you're a Yeah, you're a Muslim, yeah,
and converted in jail.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
But now you're home and so you just said that's
that's the real you. Now, I don't know. I haven't
had pork since I was like eight years old.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
So I'm the only one.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Yes, yeah, pretty much in this room.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
But no judgment were judging.
Speaker 6 (13:36):
He called me a sucker.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
That is pretty much.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Only a lot can judge you.
Speaker 6 (13:41):
Thank you, but shout off to the album.
Speaker 4 (13:45):

Speaker 11 (13:54):
I slept with my baby mama's sister while she was
in the hospital getting ready to have delivered daughter.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
What why would you do that?
Speaker 1 (14:03):
It was just a crazy situation.
Speaker 6 (14:05):
I ended up leaving the hospital, got whatever with her
sister and led to the.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Next Nah.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
My god, you got let me tell what kind of
relationship does she have with her sister?
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Ordinarily they cool.
Speaker 6 (14:19):
But come find out the sister and slept with.

in the hospital having your baby.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Did you feel bad?
Speaker 1 (14:40):

Speaker 4 (15:37):
He was on million dollars worth of Game and he
had some things to say about his relationship with Quavo.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 12 (15:45):
I don't feel like I owe it to people to
show how much me and Bro love each other, So
start doing that night. The hanging on each other, congratulating
when he was dropping songs, ain't on no suck with
each other. We came in together and we both knew that,
understood it, and we lost our brother life. We talked
about music. It ain't for us to be doing it
for the pictures.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
I respect that.
Speaker 13 (16:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
And in addition, he started his set it Off tour
in Philly yesterday and they actually went and took some
kids in Philly on a shopping spree before the tour.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
So that was nice. It was off set Gilly and
Wallow doing that and that nice. Do we love to
see it?
Speaker 6 (16:21):
Now?
Speaker 4 (16:21):
CARTI had some things to say about a Vanity Fair
Oscars party that she attended.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
I guess she ran into somebody. Here's what she said
on social media. I definitely ran into somebody. You know,
you know me, don't play that because I'm gonna lie.
Speaker 12 (16:36):
I told you all the Tiana somebody.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
Or it could have been something good. I ran into somebody.
It could have been something good too well.
Speaker 11 (16:45):
But but she said, you know, I don't play that. Okay,
you're right, so it might it sound like it could
have been a It could have been some faltercation. But
now we all got to go see who was at
that party that she ran into?
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Checked?
Speaker 4 (16:57):
All right, Now let's discuss north West. Apparently she has
an album coming out. She was in Phoenix with her
father at the center of the stage and made this announcement.
And I've been working on album in elementary school drama.
Elementary school dropout girl, would you said you better go
(17:18):
to school?
Speaker 5 (17:19):
Go to school, Please go to school.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Now we're waiting for vultures too.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
By the way with Kanye and tid Alisade that was
supposed to arrive on Friday. It's delayed, but apparently he's
going to sell the album on yezy dot com for
twenty dollars an album.
Speaker 5 (17:35):
I'm not mad at that.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Yeah, So you said, what no streaming? Yeah, no streaming.
So the only way you would be able to do
that is so you're.
Speaker 11 (17:42):
Okay, right, so you're not putting it up on no DSPs.
You got to go to his site and the purchase
it and download it.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
Yeah, okay, I'm not mad at that.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
He said. Did you see what James Blake said about streaming?
Speaker 4 (17:52):
And James Blake was saying how streaming platforms are hurting
the music industry.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
It is a very small amount of money and a.
Speaker 11 (17:59):
Whole I mean, we still don't know what a stream,
how much a stream is worth on the side of
a record company, how much they make of one stream.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Yeah, I mean it's ridiculous, all right.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
And Drake was with bun Bee at the All American
Takeover at Houston's Livestock Show and Rodeo. I saw he
was at Treilberger bum Behead Drake over. But you know,
Drake loves Houston so so everybody was saying, you think
Drake is coming, and he was there and the Detroit
Pistons are releasing a J Dilla capsule collection. Now Royce
(18:32):
to five nine actually will be talking about this when
he comes up here to way up at Angela.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
You know, I actually be I seen him the other
day too.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Shout all right, I'll actually be at three to one
three day at the Pistons game. That's March thirteenth, that's
you know, a Detroit thing three one three. But Royce
to five nine will be here tomorrow to talk about
this capsule collection and it'll be available at the team
store at Little Caesars Arena on that day and you
can also purchase it online that day at Pistons three
one three shot dot com. It looks really nice when
(19:00):
you see this collab collection. Okay, all right, well that
is your yut and when we come back, we have
under the radar. These are the stories that are not
necessarily in the headlines. They are flying under the radar.
And by the way, if you're celebrating a birthday, why
don't y'all have some birthday sex today? Here's some Jeremiah
always a classic.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
It's way up.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
It's in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
It's way up. Maynos in the building under the radar.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Stories on go now elon Musk on X he's planning
to launch an app that's going to be just like
YouTube TV, and so he's competing with YouTube and it's
going to be available exclusively for Amazon and sam Sunk
Smart TVs at first. He wants to bring longer form
content to the site. And you know, recently he did
(19:47):
that deal with Don Lemon, formerly of CNN, who's going
to be debuting a new show exclusively on X later
this week. So we shall see what happens. He's always
doing something. Yeah, I'll give him that. He's gonna definitely
get something different happening.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
So Dawn Lemons show is coming out on Twitter on X.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
Yeah, we'll never stop calling X Twitter, right.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
So you've got to go on Twitter to watch it.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
Yep. All right.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Now, from Walmart to Target, all these different retail giants
are trying to figure out self checkout dilemmas. If you
want to use a self checkout lane at some Walmart stores,
you have to pay a monthly fee twelve ninety five
a month or ninety eight dollars per year for the
Walmart Plus subscription. That's because they want to make it
so that only subscribers can actually go ahead and use
(20:33):
that self checkout line. So they said, from time to time,
our stores adjust the use of staff checkouts and self checkouts.
For example, a store might start end the day with
staff checkouts. It's a number of shoppers and associate staffing increases,
these stores open self checkout registers to manage to increase
customer flow. Now Fast Company has reported that Target is
also cutting back on self checkout lanes and some stores
(20:54):
reducing the hours that customers can use them. And that's
because people be stealing. You know, people go right to
that self checkout lane and be like, yep, walk right,
but throw something right in the bag and walk right out.
I know some people right here in this store who
also do not pay their fare on the subway, who
will definitely.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Go and steal something for check out. All right.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
And bitcoin has hit record highs above seventy two thousand
dollars as the UK has opened the door to crypto
exchanged exchange traded products. So everybody was saying this was
going to happen this year, well, record highs.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Right now.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
I have a little bit of bitcoin coin and my
cash app, so I always monitor to see how well
it's doing. And you know, it was down for quite
some time, but now I got making some money. Yeah,
that makes some money.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
That's good.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Some people sold theirs like real fast because things weren't
going well. So I guess it would have been smart
for you if you were able to keep it. Mine
is up about forty percent. All right, well that is
your under the radar.
Speaker 12 (21:59):
Now.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
You know, we got the mixed at the top of
the hour.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Plus the founder of the Fearless fund, Arian Simone, is
going to be joining us. She has a march that's
happening in DC on March fourteenth, and we want to
make sure that you guys are aware of what this
VC funded company does for women of color. That now,
according to a suit against the Fearless feather saying that
it's discriminatory to offer funding for women of color even
(22:24):
though we're the least funded out of everybody.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
All right, it's way up. She's like the Tuk like.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
They Angeli Jean like they Angelie Jean Man. She's spilling

her own tour. It's her very first solo US tour
and that kicks off March twenty third in Houston.
Speaker 3 (22:50):

Speaker 4 (22:51):
She went on her social media pace to announce that
that's going to be happening. It's a thirteen date run.
So shout out to her for that. Gotta work, you know, JT.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
All right.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Now, Shannon Sharp is saying that he made more money
from this Cat Williams interview than in an NFL season.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
Here's what he had to say with Ojo Sinko.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
I just got the check. So whatever you think I
made three exit, I made.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
More money on Cat Williams alone than I made in
any year that I played the NFL.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
He said.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
If you think I made five hundred thousand and three
times at if you think I made a million three times,
and if you think I made two million three times,
that's I mean. You know, back in two thousand he
made five million dollars when he signed with the Ravens. Yeah,
and so other years his earnings varied from one hundred
and ten thousand to three million, so it looks like
(23:43):
he made maybe like six million from it.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Made a lot of money.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
That's a lot of money.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
All right, Bad Bunny is suing a fan for uploading
concert footage on YouTube. He's suing a fan named Eric
Guillermo Madrono Garoni for posting that concert footage. It says
that he recorded and uploaded full song performances and those
uploads are using his name and music to attract views
and add revenue to his content YouTube channel instead of
(24:09):
two Bad Bunnies official channel.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
You can't do that.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
You can't just take music that put it out, yeah,
and put up whole performances.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
It's flagged on your page.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
And I don't know if he's going to have to
pay money, but he wants an injunction to prevent him
from posting more footage. And he's requesting either a flat
one hundred and fifty thousand dollars per video or compensation
for actual damages caused by the recordings.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
All right.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Now, Hulu has a black Twitter documentary that's coming. I
saw a lot of people talking about this. Yes, it's
called black Twitter, a people's history, and a trailer was
just released. They said The project's release date is May ninth,
So just iconic black Twitter moments, shesh, what do you
(24:54):
think about that?
Speaker 5 (24:55):
I don't know, seeing how interesteding that's going to be.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
And it's produced well, it's directed by Princess Penny who
also did Insecure, and he has a lot of interviews
on there with people like Amanda Sales, Kid Fury, Jamil Hill.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
So it sounds like it's gonna be funny.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Yeah, And a lot of things did happen on our
last Twitter set.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
The trend.
Speaker 5 (25:15):
We had a lot of moments.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
A lot of moments, all right.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Chris Brown says he does not care about mainstream acceptance.
He went on social media over the weekend on Instagram
and said, I don't want to be accepted for none
of the mainstream media and fake celebrities.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
I'm king in my own lane.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Your faith in got ish on me and they know
it ain't fin the tap dance for approval. You will
beg forgiveness of me.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
That I do know.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
He said.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
It's standing on business business. I knew you were going
to say that.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
Yeah, he doesn't want to say he said by mainstream media.
He doesn't pretending to try to be cool with him,
and he said he's in his.
Speaker 5 (25:49):

Way up with angela more now.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
All right, it's way up, and it's a Monday.
Speaker 11 (26:16):
No hesitation in any situation in today's men of is
I'm ready, you ready. You can't save everybody. You cannot
save everybody's You can't sink your ship trying to pull
everybody on board. Everybody can't go. And that's just the
way it is. And in life we want to do
(26:37):
things for everybody. We want to see ever everybody. But
we got to get on land first, and self preservation
is the lord of land. First, Get in pocket, get
in position. You know, everybody cannot go.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Everybody can't make it.
Speaker 11 (26:51):
Unfortunately, unfortunately some people is not even worthy worthy of going.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
Some people sometimes you yeah, sometimes you sacrifice your own
well being trying to help and and lift other people up.
But you got to put what do they say, you
gotta put your oxygen mask on first.
Speaker 11 (27:06):
Right, not even in a position like you gotta the
boat only fit a certain amount of people.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
And when you find yourself doing stuff for other people
that too, don't even do for yourself.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
Man, don't be so selfless me that.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
You wouldn't spend on yourself on somebody else, and doing
all of these things, like.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
Don't be so selfless that you lose yourself.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
And sometimes you do so much for people, and then
the one time you don't do it right, you're the
worst person on the plane.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Absolutely. They forget about.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Everything, everything you ever did.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
They're like, well, you ain't got that money for me,
you ain't got this for me. Oh so you're not gonna.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Do X, Y and Z.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
And you're like, yeah, what about all all the stuff
like this the time? Yeah, all right, that's good. You
can't save everybody, can't. And that is your Monday. I
really want you to get these mischief timberlands.
Speaker 5 (27:52):
I like them. I'm not mad at them.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
I'm not gonna lie. I kind of people listening.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
Those mischief shooes are those big, huge red shoes, but now.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
It's like they got the bottom all around them.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
You look like a cartoon character. Kind of with these on,
and so I was taking you do the red boots.
I wasn't mad at those neither though the red boots
I didn't really like those. Those felt like for good.
It was just for a period of time.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
You could only do that for like a month, and
then that it was over, Like you can't wear those now.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
No, that's that's that's I mean, that's how everything is.
It was.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
It's like shot back tis for a while.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Nah, I like that, just like it. That's like this
year and.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
Spike Lee is in the in the shoot for it.
All right, Well that is your Monday manovation. Sorry, I
got distracted. And when we come back, we have asked ye.
Now these are for when we can try to save you, okay.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. We love
to give advice, all right. So again you know mayward
winning an award winning advice given. We have your medal
(28:50):
that was given to you on Instagram. All right, So
one eight hundred nine two fifty one fifty. Anything that
you need help with, we got you. It's way up
this relationship for career advice. Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (29:04):
His way up at Angela yee I'm Angela Yee with
the award winning advice giver winning right by my side. Okay,
you know how we do right, all right, and right
now we have a read on the line.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
What's up, Red?
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Hello?
Speaker 14 (29:19):
Hello, Thank you so much for being you know, for
letting me get on here.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
I really need some advice.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Okay, we're listening. What's your question?
Speaker 8 (29:26):
Red?
Speaker 14 (29:26):
So, I am openly gay and I'm in a relationship
kind of sort of right.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
So, my boyfriend just.
Speaker 14 (29:31):
Recently got incarcerated for a couple of weeks. He's been
in there for about a month. He does have court
coming up, and.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
I'm like holding it down.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
I've been trying to be loyal.
Speaker 14 (29:42):
However, Kama, I started meeting new people, and I really
like this other guy. The other guy has his car,
has his own place, he has three children, but he's
brand new to the homosexuality.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
Okay, so he's newly he's freshly gay. He's actually out
of the class.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yeah yeah, yeah.
Speaker 14 (30:02):
And then now the other guy that's in jail is
already out. But I'm dealing with like a lot of
the baby mama drama. Like she calls him at two
o'clock in the morning, hangs up. But we've been talking
for like four months, and it's hard because I feel
like I've already grown with him, but he doesn't have
a job, and then like now when he gets out,
he has to like find a new place. And then
(30:23):
it's like when I'm talking to my parents, my dad
is getting sick, and my dad is like, oh, well,
you're in school, you're in medical school. You know you're
doing well. You know, I just want you to find somebody.
And I'm like, oh, well, you know, he does exist,
and it's.
Speaker 13 (30:33):
Like my parents are like.
Speaker 14 (30:34):
No, we don't believe that he exists. But I'm like
lying to them because I don't want him to know
that the person that I really like is in jail.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
I just want to say, Red, when you started this story,
the first thing you tell me was like, I kind
of sort of have a boyfriend. Yeah, so he's not
even locked in like that.
Speaker 11 (30:49):
No, it was his boyfriend, and then he went to jail.
He started to feel differently about it, right, correct?
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Correct?
Speaker 4 (30:55):
I mean, the y'all were only dating for a short
period of time. How long was it?
Speaker 14 (30:59):
Three months?
Speaker 4 (31:00):
They've only been dating three months. That's a lot to
go through in the first three months of dating.
Speaker 5 (31:04):
Whole relationships get established in three months.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Yeah, but you know what I will say, in the beginning,
if it's like a lot of drama, that's kind of
a red flag. So early on, it's one thing that
y'all been together holding it down. But three months in,
now you're in jail. You don't know what's going to
happen when it's court date comes around. And then you
also like somebody else. To me, that's an indication that
maybe it's not time to be in a relationship. Maybe
(31:28):
you should wait until he comes home and see how
you feel and what's different, and not commit to anybody yet. Okay, yeah,
because I don't understand why you feel like you need
to lock in.
Speaker 14 (31:39):
I think it's because of the pressure because of my parents.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Well, you're not having a relationship because of your parents.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
You got to do what feels right to you, and
it feels like you don't know what that is yet.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Okay, you know, take your time.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
You're in school. This guy's in jail. Things could change
when he comes home.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
You know.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
The other guy, it's a newer relationship.
Speaker 4 (31:58):
He's freshly out of the closet and he's got baby
mama drama.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
He's fresh out the closet.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Give him a little time to settle into gay life.
Speaker 14 (32:09):
Right, And that's what we talked about last night. And
he's like, oh, well, I'm ready, Like, I'll go by
you a ring. And I'm like, but with your baby mama.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
His baby mom knows that he's gay.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
No, not yet.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
Well, therein lies the problem. Read he has not even
come out to his baby mom. Until he does that,
I wouldn't even take him that seriously.
Speaker 13 (32:28):
True.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
Okay, so take your time, like I said, let things unfold.
It seems like you gotta wait for one person to
come home. You gotta wait for this guy to fully
come out. He's peeking out right now, but he's not
all the way.
Speaker 14 (32:39):
Out right, all right, rad, thank you both so much.
Thank you both so much. I really appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Thank you, good luck, all right, thank you all right?
Speaker 11 (32:47):
Bye?
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Lie?
Speaker 3 (32:47):
All right, Well that was ask you did, good man? No,
all right.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
When we come back, we have Arian Simone. She is
the founder of the Fearless Fund. She'll be joining us
talking about this lawsuit that they have against the funds.
And it makes no sense to me, but we'll let
her explain it. It's way up.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
We're about to do this. Yeah, y'all more way up
with Angelaye on them?
Speaker 4 (33:08):
What's up as way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and I have a special guest here who we've
been trying to coordinate for quite some time. Arian Simone
is here. She is the co founder and general partner
of Fearless Fund. And you may have seen this in
the news, but this is a message that we have
to keep on making sure that we're elevating highlighting, not
forgetting about, and that it stays in the news. So
(33:30):
can you let people know what the Fearless Fund is
who are listening most.
Speaker 9 (33:34):
Definitely and thank you for having me because you're correct.
We have been trying to get this going. The Fearless
Fund is the nation's first venture capital fund that is
built by women of color for a women of color.
We are investors. It looks like Shark tank. People come,
they pitch, they want funding for their business. We say, hey,
we'll give you five hundred thousand dollars in exchange for
ten percent equity ownership. We're back by JP Morgan, Chase,
(33:57):
Bank of America, MasterCard, pay Pal, and a lot of
major Fortune One hundred and five hundred corporations. We have
deployed about maybe somewhere around thirty million dollars of investment capital.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
And these are companies that you know of that you
guys have invested into that our listeners would definitely be
quite familiar.
Speaker 9 (34:17):
I have the.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
Lipbar on right now.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
We too.
Speaker 9 (34:20):
We're investors in study Vegans with our take.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Yeah see, so, I mean the list goes on and on.
Speaker 9 (34:26):
Prior to the Fearless Fund, the average fundraise a black
woman had was around thirty thousand dollars compared to.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Now that the Fearless Fund exists. We came on the
scene cutting seven figure.
Speaker 9 (34:37):
Checks black and brown women, and then August second, we
are plastered all over the news. We are being sued
by Edward Bloom's organization. He is a conservative legal strategist.
He's the same person that stopped affirmative action at the
colleges in June of twenty twenty three at the Supreme
Court level, and he has a company called American Alliance
(34:59):
for EA Rights. They are alleging exactly that we are
being discriminatory, So I guess we have like reverse discrimination
or reverse racism.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
They're trying to trying to help an underserved group of
people who deserve the funding exactly get the funding that
they need.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
Right now, I'm talking to the co founder and CEO
of the Fearless Fund, Arian Simone, because we all know
the biggest issue that black women have when we are
starting our businesses is that we get the least amount
of funding even though we start the most businesses.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
That is correct, So how do you remedy that? The fairless?
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Friends, So, the Fearless Fund was created to help solve
a problem because that is a problem.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
It's a very big problem.
Speaker 9 (35:41):
Women of color makeover twenty percent of the US population
while receiving only zero points three nine percent of the funding.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Yeah, that's a fraction of that's what he should be
focused on.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
Blah.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Is it like that? You know exactly?
Speaker 9 (35:53):
When we were in court one time, the plaintiff side said,
what they are doing is like what the whites only
sign was and segregation. I said, oh no, sir, that
sign was one meant to oppress. I said, in two
what disparity.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Was that solving? Exactly? I said, we are solving a disparity.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
We see a lot of things that a tech like
you talked about affirmative action in schools. Right, we're going
to see the results of that, you know, in the
years to follow, because that's going to have such an
adverse effect on things that have been able to happen.
Speaker 9 (36:25):
Something else to me that was interesting that was posed
in court. Are you not liking how they are marketing
or you mad that it basically exists?
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Period?
Speaker 13 (36:34):
Right?
Speaker 3 (36:35):
And it was definitely on the both end, And I
was just like, WHOA, what is going on now? Like
where is this case? Atten? Yes? Okay.
Speaker 9 (36:42):
So August second, they filed three things against four of
my legal entities. They filed a temporary restraining order. I
thought those were on people, not on businesses. They tried
to put us out of business. By August seventeenth, that
was withdrawn. They filed a preliminary injunction on one of
our grant pro grooms with MasterCard, and they filed the complaint,
(37:02):
which is the case itself. So we have yet to
go to court actually on the case itself, the complaint.
We've been to court on the preliminary injunction. We won
in the federal district court. They appealed immediately right after,
so we have been in federal appeals court We recently
just did a court appearance for oral arguments on January
(37:23):
thirty first, twenty twenty four, in Federal Appeals Court, and
we went before three judge panel and we are waiting
for them to rule.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Right now.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
I am tuking to Arian Simone, the co founder and
CEO of the Fearless Fund, and we have more with
her when we come back.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
It's way up.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
We're about to do this. Yeah, y'all more way up
with Angela on now you know what it is, what
it is?
Speaker 3 (37:47):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Its way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and
I have a special guest. Arian Simonti is the co
founder and CEO of the Fearless Fund. Right now, they
are battling a lawsuit because they provide funding for women
of color owned businesses. But Edward Blum, who opposes diversity
programs like affirmative Action, is trying to sue them, saying
that it's discriminatory. And what can people who are listening do, like,
(38:09):
how can people participate or make sure they AMPLI message
or is there a way because I can imagine also
the funding that should be going towards these businesses is
now going towards legal bills.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
One.
Speaker 9 (38:21):
If you want to support us, you can definitely donate
to our foundation. Also, we have a rally coming up
that we are doing on March fourteenth. Then people can
check out our Instagram at Fearless dot fund for any
of our events, our town halls, rallies for them to
come in large numbers to physically participate. Our petition is
Fearless Freedomnow dot org. They can definitely sign it to
(38:42):
put their signature to say, hey, we stand with the
Fearless Fund.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
Anything else, make.
Speaker 9 (38:48):
Sure you tell your congress people and even your state
legislators what is going on, because right now, five states
I think have made it illegal for DEI.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
Right now I'm talking to the co founder and CEO
of the Fearless Fun, Arian Simone. People have this misperception
of deis something where unqualified people get into fill a quota.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
But that's not what it is now.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
It is qualified, sometimes overly qualified, people who have earned
these positions and should have them. But a lot of
times people who are a mediocre get opportunity because they
know somebody, or you know, you're familiar with somebody whose
skin color is the same as yours and you feel
more comfortable hiring that person. But there are plenty of
qualified people who have actually come and taken the reins
(39:33):
of some of these businesses and produced like nothing you've.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Ever seen before.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
So I just want to make sure people understand DEI
is not like fil a quota.
Speaker 9 (39:42):
That's not what it is, not at all. DEI is
definitely not that affirmative action. Isn't even that I'm just
and I'm over all of this becoming convoluted. Right after
their affirmative action ruling all the fortune one hundreds, they
started getting threatening letters to stop their DEI program.
Speaker 5 (39:57):
Focus.
Speaker 9 (39:58):
Let me tell you when those five states made DEI illegal.
Either way, we know what the goal is of the
people that are basically assuing us.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
They want what we do to be illegal, right.
Speaker 9 (40:10):
That is why this case is so important because it's
setting precedents. They're using law right now, section nineteen eighty
one of the eighteen sixty six Civil Rights Act to
say we're violating this law, which is not true. That
law says that nine white people can enter into contracts.
It was designed for black people pro slavery to have
(40:30):
economic freedom and employment, and they are saying we are
in violation of this.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
This is very critical because they are trying.
Speaker 9 (40:37):
To make it illegal for us to do what it
is that we do.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
I mean, that's ridiculous, but what it shows is how
scared people are. The rally that you guys are having
on the fourteenth is that in DC, Yes it is.
Everybody that's in DC makes sure that, yeah, they're If
you're in the surrounding area, if you can make it
out there, make it happen. Tamika Mallory called me too,
and she Candala, we got to make this happen. I
would say to Mika, I'm on it, like we're already
working on both ends. But it is important to me
(41:01):
because I am a founder and I am a person
that I do want to be able to be in
the position that you're in. That's why I'm right now
trying to build up myself and my business and my
money to help other businesses. But I want to make
sure that I'm able to give my money to those
businesses that deserve it the most, that don't have the
funding that everybody else does.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
And you are doing amazing.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
Thank you now you are Arian Simone. How can people
find you? How can they find the fearless Fund one more.
Speaker 9 (41:26):
Time at Fearless dot Fund, and I'm at Arian Simone
on all social media.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
All right.
Speaker 4 (41:31):
Well, thank you so much to Arian Simon for joining us,
and again, if you want to learn how to help,
or if you want to watch that full interview, you
can go to my YouTube channel Way Up with Ye.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
And when we come back, you guys have the last word.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Take up the phone Tapian to get your voice heard.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
What the word is is the last word? On Way
Up with Angela Yee?
Speaker 3 (41:52):
What's up as Way Up with Angela Yee?
Speaker 4 (41:53):
I'm Angela Yee with my guy Maino, Way Up day
one of You're Fast.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
I'm told you I'm going to join you for part
of this, so.
Speaker 5 (42:01):
I'm happy I got a codefendant.
Speaker 9 (42:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (42:03):
I want to make sure that we are checking each
other and accountability partners we call it.
Speaker 5 (42:08):
I'm gonna do it though.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
All right, we're watching you well.
Speaker 4 (42:11):
Thank you again to Arian Simone, the co founder and
CEO of the Faarless Fund, for joining us. You can
watch that full interview on my YouTube channel Way Up
with Ye. All right, and get some rest too, because
you know, we did the spring ahead over the weekend,
so we're really like an hour ahead, which means we
get an hour less of sleep, but longer days.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
That's the trade off.
Speaker 4 (42:30):
All right, well you guys again, be safe and we
will see you tomorrow. But as usual, you have the
last word.
Speaker 7 (42:36):
I got a problem with one of my siblings' name
is marm and Wayne. I don't know how his father
is my father was going on, or if my mother
is his mother. I just knew we look just to
like a He won't answer that.
Speaker 13 (42:52):
I would like to sign the light on myself. My
name is Melissa out of Toledo, Ohio, and I just
want to tell people that when you're fighting the depression,
keep on going, don't give up. It's been six years
I brought myself out of that depression, and I just
want everybody to know that they are not alone.
Speaker 1 (43:08):
