Right, Let's shine a light on Ray Curtis Petty Junior.
He's from Albany, Georgia, and he was the first lawyer
in his family, even though he went through a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Of doubts and obstacles.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
There's a YouTube that went viral that shows his mother
reacting to him passing the bar exam and as a child,
people told him that he was inspired that he would
be in special education classes. But he did go on
to earn his degree at Albany State University. Then he
applied to a lot of law schools but face discrimination
and he also ended up being elected to president of

(01:59):
the Student Bar Sociation. And while studying, he worked at
a as a paralegal in the United States Air Force Reserve.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
So shout out to him. Shout out to him and
his family.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
To go from teachers telling you you should be in
special education to becoming an attorney.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
The first one in your family.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I've seen a lot of things like that before, though,
like when teachers force you, they forced you to go
into special headness.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Right instead of wanted to do the work to really
work with you. A lot of times that is uh.
You know, people's students do sometimes need a little more
attention because our attention span. His kids could be really tough,
and there could be things going on outside of school
that people don't know about.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Sometimes just a sugar.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
But he said he wouldn't have been able to achieve
his goal of becoming a lawyer if not for the
support of his family. And he went to his story
to be an inspiration family to others. So shout out
to him. Shout out to that all right, now, who
do you guys want to shine a light on? Eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty kia, how are
you and who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 5 (02:53):
I'm doing really good. I just wanted to shine a
light on our collective called the Brownship of their life.

Speaker 6 (02:58):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
I just wanted to shout us out while we are
a collective of black women and we are doing our
thing out here in the blessed world, and we also
have a show coming up to April twentieth and latter fifteen.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Okay, April twentieth. I love that I've been to a
few Burless's shows in my life. So how can we
how can we see the Instagram page in case we
want to have a night fabulous night out.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
That a good one you too?

Speaker 4 (03:39):
All right?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Well that was Shining Light eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty in case you couldn't get through.
And when we come back, we have some yet, Nora,
you ready to talk about Diddy? Yes, when we come
back some more. Yet as way up.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
They say in the rooms from industry shade to all
of gossip out sendmon angelus feeling.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
That yet.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
It's way up.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
It's yet time with DJ Norwy.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Don't get quiet?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Can we call it angela coffee?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Okay, okay, coffee Time's coffee time, all right, let's do
it now.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Let's talk about the raids on Diddy's homes. Okay. According
to reports, this is just the beginning.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
As you can imagine, the FEDS are issuing subpoenas to
companies that have done business with him. They want to
identify anybody who has information into this sex trafficking probe.
So they want to see who was flying on his planes.
They want to see certain things about commercial airlines when
he flew on those in case he went on commercial
flights instead of his private jet.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
They want to see who flew where they went.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Let's call it pilots, and who was on the staff,
and they could just help you.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Out with THEMS right now.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
They also want to see if people who have sued
Diddy were on those planes as well. And they've been
doing all kinds of information interviews already with people can
to these lawsuits, so those have not been made public yet.
So I'm sure we're going to be finding out more information.
But right now, Diddy has denied doing anything wrong. There's
no restrictions on his travel. Feds are trying to determine

(05:12):
whether they haven't a culture.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
But that's a little weird not restricting his travel.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Well, he hasn't been charged yet, so you can't really
until they see whatever evidence. It'd be hard for him
to hide like we're you know what I mean, Like
Diddy's gonna hide out.

Speaker 7 (05:29):
Now.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Young Miami has an alibi.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
There's allegations of her being a drug mule, which were
included in a recent lawsuit. And they did speak to
somebody who said, Little Ride, that's the person that followed
the lawsuits.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
I claimed that Young Miami procured pink cocaine. I showed
you all the pink.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
They said, that's easily proven as a lie because he
said it was on April thirtieth. And they have documents
that show that Young Miami was getting ready for the
met Gala, So they have proof that she was in
New York getting fitted during the time that Little Ride
claiming that she was with Ditty.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
So that is her alibi. So there you go.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
There give me a lot of alibis.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Yeah, and Young Miami said on Twitter to some people
who were saying things to her, you'll be going for anything.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
So that's the world we live in right now.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Right So, and now, fifty cent in the meantime is
seeking soul custody of his child that he has his
son with Daphney Joy after she's been named as an
alleged sex worker in those documents and Diddy's lawsuit, and
you know.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Daphney Joy has a lot to say about this.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
She went on social media and talked about her issues
with fifty. She said, Curtis James Jackson, everything is a
joke to you until our safety is compromised, which is
happening now. You are wreaking real havoc, frenzy and chaos
onto people's lives. How would you feel if, sire, that's
their son was the one in handcuffs for nothing. We
moved to New York to give you the opportunity to

(06:52):
be a father to your son, and you saw him
ten times out of the two years that we lived
one mile away from you. I'm tired of upholding and
protecting an image to our our son that you have
never even earned. And so she went on to talk
about situations between the two of them, and to also
make accusations against him as well.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
That's like an ongoing battle forever. I think anybody involved
with fifty is an ongoing battle. They should know what
they getting themselves into.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Right and you know right now, she says that her
sole custody that she says that my son's oh so
fifty cent said, my son's sire is my main priority
and keeping him in a safe environment is my only
Folks at this time, how about this sire?

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Now?

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Like what and he's such a little cutie, pat, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
He looks like oh he's twelve, he's twelve. Yeah, he's
twelve years old.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I wonder how the relationship is because, you know, all
of a sudden, you just want to take full custody.
I'm sure that relationship should be good, but it don't
sound like it's too well.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
She says that she's been keeping up this image for him.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Yeah, and so fifty has responded and said that like
he does everything.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Of course he did. He put out a statement.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
This is the disturbing allegations and the sworn pleadings recently
filed in a court case related to Daphne Joy, the
mother of my twelve year old child, has required me
to take all necessary legal actions to protect my son's sire.
The most recent false and baseless accusations by Daphney Joy
are clearly in response to my decision to seek soul custody.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
That don't even sound like a text from fifty doesn't
sound like this kind of grandma.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
Yeah, it's a statement.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
I'm sure that you would have said, give me back
my child, and that is your Yet, when we come back,
we have about last night.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
I know you were out last night.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yeah, I would catch last night was a good one.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
And he's going to be joining us today. But we'll
talk about it. It's way up.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
So about last.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Night last night, last night I went down. Oh, it's
way up. I'm here with DJ Nori on a Friday.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
I love the drought.

Speaker 8 (08:49):
We got him.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
We got him up early today.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yes you did, because you've been outside these past couple
of nights.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
So tell us what you're going up to.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
I think it was Wednesday we went to that new
venue you in Brooklyn called the Paramount. Okay, ye had
Damian Marley, Stephen Marley. I think that was actually the
grand opening of the venue.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Did you see the Marley by Marley movie? Wow?

Speaker 8 (09:10):
No?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Are we no?

Speaker 8 (09:11):
No?

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Every time I go to see that, just something comes up.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
It's available online. You can watch it on streaming services
now at home. Okay, So you're gonna hang out with
the Marley's, but you didn't go and see it.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
So we have a different relationship those like my bros.
But you know, so I can you know.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
That's fine.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Thanks, thanks appreciating.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
I just forgured you had to see it from kind
of records.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Did you see it all right? Then? Thank you very much.
I thought you.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
I'm actually watching it this weekend. I already purchased.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
It on streaming, so all right, I'll watch it too.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Okay, now, what else did you do last night?

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Last night, I went to Kess's listening party. It's pretty
good too.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
And Cass is joining us today.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Yes, yes, it was a lot of people there too.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Man, would you categorize his album as Soca because there's
some Soca songs on there and a feel of it,
But I feel like it was it expanded out of
that genre more so, I think.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
He's going towards like the world part of music. Like
everything's kind of like a vibe. He has like a
melo R and B vibe to it. They got some
danceol on it. It has Oka, but it's like a
vibe like, Okay, this is not really the average Soka.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
No, that was a party.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
It was good, very Uh. A lot of different bodies
in there, like a lot of different people you would
never expect to be in there. But I was like, okay,
this is very friendly.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Okay it And listen, people are already hitting me up
on Twitter. They're excited that Kes is going to be
joining us today. He is such an amazing performer, such
an amazing artist.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
He's an amazing person in general.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
So that's BK mom eighty six. She said, did I
hear right, Kes spin to be one? Thank you for
this wonderful Friday?

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Yes, that's right.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
All right.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Well when we come back, we have tell us a secret.
Now you're familiar, would tell us a secret? Eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. I just want to say,
Norri got so nervous. You don't have to tell us
a secret. Listeners are gonna call in and they're going
to be anonymous, and we're not going to judge them, Okay,
no matter what they say, because I know you have

(11:07):
way worse secrets, and everybody that's calling.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Up today not way worse, but just a few eight hundred.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Fifty one fifty Again, it's no judgment, call us up.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
We want to hear your secret, and we're not going
to judge you here, but once we put it online,
we have no control, no control over where anybody might
want to say.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
See if you can talk the guy that called in
on Wednesday that cheated on his wife with seven women
so far, all right.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. Tell us
a secret.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
What's up? Its way up with Angela Yee, I'm Angela
Yee and DJ Norman.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Yeah, it's in the building. And by the way, congratulations

Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. You are anonymous,

(12:05):
there's no judgment. Hello, anonymous caller, tell us a secret.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Hey, I got a juicy one for you.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Okay, Oh, this.

Speaker 9 (12:12):
Is a secret that I saw I would take to
the grave, but I'm sharing it with y'all. There's a
time in my life where I lived in Florida and
I did at least twenty professional adult videos in the
entertainment industry, and I've never heard my friends, my family,
and even the person that I was with at the time.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Wow, nobody's ever seen it and identified you.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Well.

Speaker 9 (12:35):
The thing is everything was shot from the waist down,
so there's no distinctive features. But still I know and
no one else knows. So it's something that I've been
keeping it myself for quite a while. So this is
the first.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Time I'm using it. How long you cab to yourself?

Speaker 9 (12:52):
It's been at least ten years.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Woa, that's a real secret.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
I say, did you make a lot of money when
you did it? Is that why you did it?

Speaker 1 (13:00):
For the men? It was very lucrative.

Speaker 9 (13:02):
It did raise some suspicion with the person that I
was with at the time, but I just told them
that I was getting paid for training doing work out
of state.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
M Now, were these videos were, like? What type of
videos were they? What category would it be?

Speaker 9 (13:16):
To point of view?

Speaker 4 (13:17):
I guess was it male female? Was it male male?

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (13:23):
All right, did you enjoy it?

Speaker 9 (13:25):
I mean it was fun?

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Okay, all right, Well, I'm glad you got your money
in and kept it moving.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Money. Get that money feel better.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
I feel so much better getting it off my chest.

Speaker 9 (13:36):
I listened to you every morning, So thank you for
letting me be a part of tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Well, thank you you got it off your chest and
put it on someone else.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
All right, thank you? Yes, Hey Anonymous, Cala, how are you?

Speaker 10 (13:48):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (13:48):
I'm fine.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
All right, it's me and dj Nor. We're ready to hear. Hey,
we're not going to judge you.

Speaker 6 (13:53):
Okay. So I had an affair with my baby dad's
other baby mall.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Oh interesting, okay. Was he still messing with her too?

Speaker 6 (14:03):
I'm not sure, but he doesn't know about it. So
was he still messing with her?

Speaker 4 (14:07):
I don't even know how did it even happen.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
It's ideal for baby moms with each other, but this
is like next level get along.

Speaker 6 (14:14):
So we get along, and I just one day, we
have the kids together and after they went to sleep,
it just happened. But it happened, I did, Okay.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
So you guys were just like spending the night together
or something. I'm a little confused. How you guys end
up in the same house and.

Speaker 6 (14:33):
End up I come to her house. We let the
kids play, like without our baby dad relationship. Yeah, so
it's it happened.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
So the kids are playing and y'all was playing too.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, everybody's just playing.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Is this something that continued for a while or was
it a one time thing?

Speaker 6 (14:52):
It was a one time thing.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Okay, would you do it again? Maybe tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Y'all were good today and when we come back, we
have your year and let's get ready for real Housewives.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
Of Potomac the reunion.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Some of those trailers and tesus a outside out to
our girl Candice, who guests hosted.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
For a whole week. But there was some drama. It's
way up the show.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
She's about to blow the lead off this but let's
get it. Angela's feeling that yee tea, Come and get
the tea.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
All right, it's way up. I'm here, DJ and Nori
is here.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
She about to blow the little off this joint.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
And it's yea tea time. Now. I know you don't watch.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
It's not what it's called coffee.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Time because we actually are all having coffee.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Coffee guys, right, now all of us.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Now, I know you don't watch Real Housewives a Potomac,
but I love that show. And sorry, you're you're gonna
have to keep up with this because the season eight
reunion trailer is out right now and the three part
reunion starts on Sunday, And here is a little bit
of that trailer for you.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
There's a lot of drama.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
I want to.

Speaker 9 (15:56):
Set an intention for us today that each of you
can find a path towards moving forward.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Gordon alleged that.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Jeremiah may not be his son.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Does ink think Jeremiah is his son? The other words,
you can't keep track of how many people you've had
sex with them past.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
That would be won Okay, okay, that would be you,
all right?

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Just to break it down for you, Mia, and has
that a norm me and her husband Gordon. He's saying
that her latest child, you know, who's a little grown now,
but may not be his because she's been dating somebody else.
His stuff doesn't work, so he let her see other people.
Only problem was she fell in love, all right. And
then when it comes to Robin, who's no longer on
the show, when she was trending after this trailer, came out,

(16:43):
you know. Apparently she believes that Wan when he tells
her husband that he hasn't cheated even though he's been
spotted with other women in the laundromat and other.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
Places, she believes that.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
So the laundromat, Yeah, have you been hang out in
a londromat with women?

Speaker 1 (16:58):
I never hung out, but I've definitely when to help
carry it back.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Oh that's sweet, just dipping carried back.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Yeah, that's right, all right, So get ready for that
starting on Sunday. And Portia, her strange husband from Real
Housewives Atlanta Assignment, has sent to cease and desist over
her filming Real Housewives of Atlanta amidst their divorce. All right,
and so he also attests a copy of the deed
as evidence that Portia does not have a stake in

(17:28):
their nearly seven million dollar home, which he purchased in
November of twenty twenty one.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
That's an easy find out to get the deed. You
should know that, right. You're a girl right now.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Yeah, but you know when you're married, it's a little
different and you're going through a divorce. I don't know
what is going to happen with that property if they've
been living there together, and I don't know if they
have a pre nup or what that situation is.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
She's still gonna get something for.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yeah, So he's saying he's the sole owner of that house,
and she is hitting back at him for engaging in
superfluous media antics as a divorce is playing out in
the public eye. Yes, although I think that's nastier than
any of these things. But you know what, relationships playing
out publicly is never an easy situation.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
I will say that for all parties involved.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Always nasty for no.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Reason, right, And it's great if you can try to, uh,
you know, fix things behind the scenes, but it doesn't
always work out.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Well, here's some good news.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
T Paine has secured his first ever drift competition victory
and he posted it on Instagram. He participated in the
Elsie World Tourist part of his Nappy Boy Automotive imprint,
which he formed in conjunctioning with Hurt Life, and he
came in first place. I won my first ever battlest
What makes.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
You so nervous?

Speaker 8 (18:40):
I think it's not being good.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
So his first competition, let's see what happens. I let's
go tea bo.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
So congratulations to him, and he's basically saying this is
like the happiest he's been in a really long time.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
That's nice.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
No, definitely, because he's popped up in here India.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
He's got a.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Great podcast too. Oh yeah yeah, So shout out to
t Pain.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
That's what's up.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
All right, Well, that is your ut and when we
come back, we have under the Radar, Yes, coffee time,
thank you. And you know ozempic everybody, A lot of
people are using ozembic to lose weight.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I think that's like the end thing right now for everybody.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Well, we're going to discuss this because it can cost
up to thirteen hundred dollars and you will not believe
how much it costs nowhere to make it.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
All right, we'll discuss it in under the Radar.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
It's up next edition in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
It's way appam angela ye dj Nori is here.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Girl.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Let's get into these under their radar stories. All right.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
We all know people who are using ozempic right now.
And ozepa can cost up to thirteen hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
I heard people buy for fifteen hundred who is.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
That from the doctor or secondhand?

Speaker 1 (19:56):
I think it's from doctors.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
Well, you know how much it costs five.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Dollar dollars to make five US dollars?

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Yes, five US dollars, all right, So.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
I mean just hurtful right now for anyone who's listening.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Man, you know what it is though, part of it
is that there's such a demand for it.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
That's what's really pushed the price up.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Is a high demand for this drug that was initially
intended to treat type two diabetes.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
We always talk about it.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
So now there's a shortage and then there's this huge
price tag, and there's also potentially dangerous counterfeit medications. There's
also now a lot of alternative methods too, So just
a lot going on with that. But imagine you're paying,
like you said, fifteen hundred dollars for something that five.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Dollars gas is like four dollars in change, right, you
mean to tell me five dollars which can't even put
gas in my truck?

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Listen, you are absolutely kill Now. This is here's the
way you can get the money.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Did you know?

Speaker 3 (20:49):
Burke and bags are a better investment than gold, according
to an expert. They said the most exclusive person they
have is so limited that it sparked what's become known
as Burkin spending. What they do is, yeah, it's outpacing
gold Wow. And so what they call this burke and
Bate spending is in order to even get a Burken bag,
and people were suing for this too. You have to

(21:10):
be on the list, like they have to know you
because they're so limited to even be able to get them.
It's not like you could walk into the store and
buy it. They only reserve those for their best customers.
So we're talking about it's a bag. So people customers
are now going in and spending money on Ermez products
to try to bribe their way into being known as
a customer so they can actually get a bag.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
So I could probably get a Rys Royce before I
can get a bag.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Then you're telling me, I don't know any This is
rich people talk and I don't know anything about any
of this.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
But yeah, everybody can't get on that list.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
But the resale value of the Burkeen and the Kelly
bags over the past ten years has outpaced Gold Wow.
And there's several instances where people have doubled their money
based on buying it ten years ago and.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Reselling it has to be position somebody selling for like
they bought it for like maybe like ten and sold
it for like thirty five thousand.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
It's ridiculous even buying a bag from the store that
price range. In case you're wondering, because I don't have
no Burkins, that goes between nine thousand and thirty thousand
dollars depending on the condition and material.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
I don't know, but you know it's hard to get.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
So that might be something you could do if you
want to get ozmpic, get a Burke and bag, sell
it and then buy your own sent All right, Well
that is your under the radar. And we do have
Kest joining us today. His album Man with No Doors
out today, and we also got the Way Up mix
at the top of the hours. It's way up on
a Friday's like the chalk like.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
They angela Jean like they angela Jean.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Man, She's spilling it all. This is yeaty way up.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
It's way up.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
I'm angela ye. And DJ Nori is here and as
a DJ, you know, even though it is a new
music Friday, normally we do new music next, but we're
gonna start right now with Beyonce. And yet because Beyonce
nes her whole own break today because yes.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
ACTU Cowboy Card of her eighth.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Studio album and it leans into her country influences, is
out today. And as a reminder, let's talk about Beyonce
saying that she did this act to Cowboy Carter.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
It's been over five years in the making.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
She said, it was born out of an experience that
I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed
and it was very clear that I wasn't. But because
of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the
history of country music and studied.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Our rich music Inville just to be extra and we.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Both said that we actually enjoyed our time in Nashville.
Shout out to everybody listening in Nashville right now. But
that is when she got booed at the Country Music Awards,
and what better thing to do than five years later
put out an album Go for a Girl that is
going to break all the charts when it comes to
country music.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
All right, So let's get into some of this.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
First off, Let's play Joe Lene and that is a
Dolly Parton song that she did and I know Dolly
Parton was kind of hinted at this happening and everything previously,
but here it is.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
All right.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
And Dolly Parton had said she thought that Beyonce with
sample or do something with her Joline album, and she
did do that a cover of the song with some
altered lyrics and song structure.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
So nice. Nice to see that.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
And it's a very old song too.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
I know it sounds good that we're her doing it
all right. In addition to that, she has a song
that people are loving featuring Miley Cyrus and it's called
Most Wanted. And Miley Cyrus actually did a post to
showing her gratitude for Beyonce for including her in this
album and here that's here's that song. It's called Most Wanted.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
To nosey, I kind of like country music a little bit.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Yeah, Well, Miley Cyrus posted, I've loved Beyonce since long
before I had the opportunity to meet and work with her.
My admiration runs so much deeper now that I've created
alongside of her. Thank you, Beyonce, You're everything and more.
Love you to everyone who spend time making this song
so special. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
that is beautiful. Now, another song on the album that

(24:58):
is special is Blackbird. And you know be Ant doesn't
do a whole lot of covers, and so this song
was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon from the Beatles,
and it's a song about hope and survival. But Paul
McCartney in particular has said that this song was inspired
by the American civil rights movement and specifically the Little
Rock Nine. Those are the nine black students in nineteen

(25:20):
fifty seven who faced discrimination after they enrolled in a
formerly all white high school after the Brown Versus Board
of Education ruling. Here is that that's beauty, especially when
you know what it's about.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Can you a joke? Go fast? No? So during the
summer when the tour was around, so I accidentally went
on a boat ride, a Beyonce boat ride. Oh dude, stuck.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
You had the time of your life, though, I guess
in the time of my life.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
I sat down. I sat down and watched them go crazy.
All they played with Beyonce music. So I'm just starting.
I was like, nah, this is different.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
All right, Well that is your ut. When we come back,
it is a new music Friday. We kicked it off
with all Beyonce. Just now we have more this way up, whether.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
It's relationship for Korea advice, Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
This is what's up?

Speaker 3 (26:11):
Its way up with Angela Ye. I'm Angela Yee and
DJ Norri is here.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (26:15):
Girl?

Speaker 3 (26:15):
I cannot wait to hear how you answer this ask
you question. We have Ayesha on the line. What's up, Aisha.
He's going, I'm good.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Me and nuriy are here and we're going to help
you out today. What is your question?

Speaker 7 (26:26):
Okay, I'm supposed to be having this weight lost surgery.
I'm getting the gas to fleet and my boyfriend asked me,
if after I get the surgery and I start losing weight,
could he take a pass with another woman, a bigger woman,
because he's not feeling me losing weight. What I'm like,
should I leave him? Or should I just like be
like yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Or be like yeah, you can sleep with another woman?

Speaker 9 (26:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (26:51):
I mean because he always told me he liked big girls,
and I'm a big girl.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
So now that I want to you know, are you
losing weight for health reasons or just something you want
to do for yourself? Well?

Speaker 7 (27:02):
For helpfulls is just for something I want to do
for myself, right and by the way, I'm young and I.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
Don't want to have like overweight Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. Huh.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Well, first of all, that is your decision about what
you want to do for yourself and your body, and
the fact that you're a man is not being supportive
of that is pretty wild to me.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Was he joking when he said that?

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Or was he serious? Because that's not even a funny joke.
But some men have a sixth sense of humor right now,
Maybe he was joking.

Speaker 7 (27:27):
At first we laugh, but then he was like, I'm
for real and I was like, how long you guys been?

Speaker 6 (27:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (27:34):
Three years?

Speaker 4 (27:36):
And has he stepped out before?

Speaker 8 (27:38):
No?

Speaker 4 (27:39):
Okay, So is he trying to have like an open relationship?

Speaker 7 (27:42):
I mean, that's what I get from it.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Is he inviting the woman into your room with you guys,
or just wanted to be a separate situation.

Speaker 7 (27:49):
A separate situation.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
I got to ask you, how do you feel about that?
Because you're asking us what we think, but what do
you think?

Speaker 7 (27:56):
I'm confused because I mean I've been to him for
so long and it's like I thought he was joking,
But then when he bought it up again.

Speaker 9 (28:03):
It was like, I'm serious.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
I'm like, what, ain't no reason to be confused anymore.
It ain't for you anymore.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
That's not even a funny joke.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
I understand if you want to have a little spice
and try something with you know, a lady and you
kind of said no, But for him to want to
do it himself without you, then yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Does he know who he wants to do it with
any I want you to trust your guy. We're not
in your relationship to know like what goes on on
a daily basis. You know you love him, right, does
he love you? You feel like, yeah, it's everything else great,
except for this situation.

Speaker 7 (28:39):
That's the most part.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
I think that you also need to trust yourself.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
A lot of times people say things, and you just
said this, we've been together for so long, that's not
a reason to stay together.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Just because we've been together for so long.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
That doesn't mean that I can excuse everything that you
do because of that.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
You mind the asks how old are you I'm thirty two.
Get a good age where you can still start over if.

Speaker 4 (28:59):
You have do you see yourself? Do you see yourself
with him?

Speaker 3 (29:03):
Like getting married one day?

Speaker 7 (29:07):
No, I don't have no kids and I do, so
what's the problem.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Let's start this over, baby, Come on, let's lose that weight.
Let's get going like.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
I'm already old and you're not old.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Not what and let me tell you something you would
rather try to if you need to start over.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
There's no time like the presence.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
And when you have this surgery, you might feel different
about yourself, which might make you feel different about him too.
Nobody should be telling you things like that that make
you uncomfortable.

Speaker 7 (29:33):
Thank you and I appreciate both of you. Got me thinking, and.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
That's all I want you to do.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Just be honest with yourself and don't try to make excuses.
Sit there and say, I'm not going to make excuses
for this man. What's right is right, what's wrong is wrong.
What makes me uncomfortable is what makes me uncomfortable. I
have my boundaries and if somebody crosses that, I'm not
dealing with that. You deserve what you want to get.
It's not about him only, it's about you to Yeah.

Speaker 7 (30:00):
Thank you, Angela, well, I appreciate it, right, thank you.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
And listen, send me some pictures after your surgery. I
want to see girl, let's go.

Speaker 6 (30:10):
I sure will Okay.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
We outside.

Speaker 7 (30:15):
Thank you all.

Speaker 4 (30:16):
Right, thank you? That was asked.

Speaker 8 (30:18):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
I think we just broke them up. No, basically you
got to have a conversation communication.

Speaker 4 (30:25):
All right. Well when we come back, Kess is going
to be joining us.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
It's way up with you.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
You way up with Angela. Ye more now.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
What's up its way but Angela yee. We love to
see you here. Kess the band is here.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Yes, yes, yes, good to be here, good to be here. Blessings.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
I already was talking to you about how you sold
out Center Park summer stage in four days. But I
was like, you're here because I'm trying to go so
easy easy.

Speaker 8 (30:51):
Yeah, no, I was amazing. I'm not gonna lie. Big
love to all the people who coming home. I'm looking forward.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
That's history. You know, we are looking forward.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
You've been creating a lot of history.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
I was reading that you have the most stream SOCA
song of the last decade, wow with Hello.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
Wow.

Speaker 8 (31:07):
It's it's it's a really exciting time I think for
the genre. I feel like people are having access to.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
The music from our only world. So you're gonna whole
different listenership.

Speaker 8 (31:18):
Everybody is you know, into soca and a different way now,
and I feel like, you know, we're at that time,
you know where you can do different things.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
What are the different types of soca for people who
are listening, because.

Speaker 8 (31:31):
Just you know, they're just different. I guess speeds and fields.
But they're two main the power and the groovy. The
power is more, you know, the high energy. The groovy
is more of you know, the slower bpms. I kind
of tend to do a lot more the slower bpm
stars because I feel like it's easy to connect to
other genres like the afrobeat and reggaeton, and each of.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Us are all in a similar family.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
All right, Kas is here in his new album Man
with No Door is out Today's definitely one of the
things that you always stared to do is bring together
all the different types of music in the Caribbean, also
the afrobeats. So let's talk about the new album, Yes,
Man with No Door, Yes, and we've we've had a
chance to hear some of the songs before the album

(32:17):
came out.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
Of course, Licky Ticky featuring Jay Perry.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
You see that video, yes, you know as well, So
talk to me about some of these other collapse we
do hear some afrobeats, maybe a little compa.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
The so small Compa.

Speaker 8 (32:30):
Definitely the Hitian family is bigging at Michael Bruin and
Jay Perry is there as representing Haiti and yeah for
some dance.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
The song with Busy Signal Honeycomb.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Honey Comb.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
That's a fun song vibe.

Speaker 8 (32:46):
As the title says, man, No Door is really a
creative free space. You know, I really wanted to create
just a little bit on Soka and more, you know,
and just play with the vibes that I grew up to,
you know, the stuff that I loved.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
I loved not you know, dance on in the.

Speaker 8 (33:00):
Nineties and you know, reggae and I love afro beat.
I love reggaeton, pop and rock and R and B
and all of that. And I think I think all
of it is felt in this entire.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Body of working.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
And Shaggy's on the album.

Speaker 8 (33:14):
Shaggy is on it. Yes, definitely Busy Signal. You know me, girls,
It's a lovely family, a lovely sown family. And I
think the album is a great introduction to you know,
just what I'm going to be exploring in the future
as well.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
And of course Trinida Carnival past, so talk to me
about that because it was for a couple of years
it wasn't really happening.

Speaker 8 (33:36):
Yeah, the pandemic is back and running, you know what
I mean, everything is everything is back and running.

Speaker 10 (33:41):
You know.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
This year was was, you know, amazing. We had a
lot of people coming in.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
I saw a lot of women out there having your
girls trips and everything. So you were, I'm gonna be
the same time as Carnival.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
I know you're going to be there, right, that's nice.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
But since I it's not, I wasn't prepared this year.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
But you should come for real. Is on nice vibes.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
That's the Carnival that everybody says you need to be at.
Like when it comes to I feel like when you
think of Carnival, you think.

Speaker 8 (34:08):
Trinidad definitely after the brazil To they do their own
form of Carnival. But I think I think all form
of Carnival is a blueprint, you know, for the world.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
All Right, Cass is here and we have more with
him when we come back. He is really, I would say,
a global superstar. We got more as it's.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Way up, way up with Angela Yee more now what's up.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
Its way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
I'm Angela Yee and Cass is here today on the
day of the release of his album Man with No Door.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
You know, a lot of your music is about love
and unity and peace and all of that.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Like it feels good when you listen to it, but
it gets it gets like the little bit of.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Edge of nasty, not too much, just right.

Speaker 8 (34:49):
That's that's that's that's what calyp is. It's just right
almost day, you know what I mean. But it depends
on how you take it, where you carry it, you
know what I mean? So, yeah, I love that. That's
actually a reflection I guess of who I am in
some form.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
What is jumb job?

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Job? Job? Is a caribbeant me bad?

Speaker 3 (35:12):
I know that, But what is it when you don't
see okay? And I was like, okay, I know because
I asked our board up he used to make in
so he was like, it's like a candy and he
showed me the candy.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
So I'm like, all right, So it's a job.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Job. What feels like a job? Job? What's nice? What's
nice like a job? Jubb and sweet like a job?
Given phones?

Speaker 8 (35:32):
Like yeah, I don't even need to say was like
he was that yah, I know what, yeah, you know
what does it? You know it's flititious. And then job
job was also a part of like.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Growing up Candy. Now you need a different job, all right.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Kess is here in his new album Man with No
Door is out today. We see the success of Bob
Marley story. What would a Kest story look like?

Speaker 1 (36:00):
They're long, That's what it is. Long. We've been at
it like from kids, you.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Know, right, you know you guys are like the musical
family too. But that's why that's so interesting to me.

Speaker 8 (36:11):
Definitely, And you know, a lot of people don't understand
the amount of influence from.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
Our ound the world because I remember even when I
read about it, like Van Helen was you were influenced
by a rock group, you know, the family early on
Van Helen and then even Queen Bohemian raps it. Definitely,
that's an amazing song. Definitely, I love that and we
performed that. I want a competition doing that song, yeah,
a pop rock competition.

Speaker 8 (36:34):
But yeah, I mean all of it is beautifully. The
journey of music is such a real, real thing.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
You know. Sometimes music was the only thing that kept
us together, you know.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
So it's and even a lot comes with doing music
with your family too.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Definitely. You know you look over and see your family,
you know, and that's amazing. I get thanks for that.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Well, listen, I know you have so much going on
while you're here, selling out shows and doing things like that,
but I do appreciate you for coming and stopping by,
because as soon as they say is in town, I
was like, put them on the schedule.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
It doesn't matter. We got to figure it out.

Speaker 8 (37:03):
Also, I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm here. I'm glad I'm here.
And yo officially bite you again.

Speaker 3 (37:07):

Masters for everybody come.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
And of course I will see you at Central Park
summer stage and at the same time as Carnival, So
I'm excited for all of that, definitely, But congratulations on everything.
The album Man with No Door is out and looking
Together for like that broke some records too, right, wasn't
it like the most stream song of the past year
Soka song.

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
