Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are now Angela what I call her?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Ye, yeah, it's way up.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
What's good everybody? It is? What's today? Tuesday?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
All right, Tuesday. We have actually some fun things happening today. Oh,
Spice is joining us today. That's so exciting, y'all don't
even understand. You know, I love when people come up here,
and I'm a fan of theirs, and I'm definitely a
fan of Spice. And she has a new project coming
out August ninth, but she's gonna talk about her single.

(00:38):
Witch debuted up here and really debuted on Way Up
with Angela. Yee round, round, round and round. That's featuring
Busta Rhymes. Dan is here with me today.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
That's a fact.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Yeah, that is a fact. All right.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
So of course you know how we start to show
off every single day with some love, with some positivity,
because when I tell you, we need it right now.
I know you were watching the Republican National Convention last night.
Donald Trump did make it as there was a point
where it looked like he was like falling asleep a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Anne Barrow's made an appearance. I know we'll be talking.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
About all of that, but yes, let's start it off
with some love and positivity eight hundred two nine two
fifty one fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
When we come back, Let's shine a light. It's way up.
I'm a shine, I'm a shine. Turn your lights on, y'all.
So it spreading love to those who are doing greatness.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
Shine the light on.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Shine the light on. It's time to shine a light on.
All right, it's way up.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
I'm angela yee, and you know what, it's all about,
love and positivity on, shine a light. And you know
what today I want to shine a light on Fantasia. Now,
I know it might feel like random, you know that
I'm doing that, but I really enjoyed when we had
her on lip Service. You remember that episode, Dan, She's
great and the fact that it's been twenty years this
year since she was on American Idol. That kind of

(01:52):
jump started everything for her. But you know, at a
certain point, she lost everything, and she's very open and
about it. She was one sir for only one million
dollars in taxes. They told her her house is going
to be put up for auction. All of these things
happened to her that was because of back taxes, and
look at where she is today, just thinking about where
she started how her star has risen, how she went

(02:15):
through it but came through on the other side and
now starring in movies, amazing singer, Broadway, all of that
and she deserves it all. So happily married. I was
thinking about her birthday. They surprised her empty light popped
out and performed, and how excited she looks. She's a genuine,
amazing person. So just shining a light on Fantasia, show

(02:35):
her some love today.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
I'd like to add that, you know, working behind the
scenes a lot of times, like celebrities like will put
on act and like pretend to be nice, but like
she's like actually really genuine, like incredible to work with.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Yeah, so sweet.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
We'll shout out to you Fantasia already. Now, who do
you guys want to shine a light on? Eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty Hollywood, Who do you
want to shine a light on to?

Speaker 7 (02:54):
My boyfriend Lawrence aka fun from Okay?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Lawrence? What'd you say?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
His name is?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Aka? What pun pun?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
All?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Right, Well, tell me about it and why you want
to shine a light on him. He's a good person.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
He worked hard and he just he doesn't like the light,
the limelight and at this So I just want to
shine the light on him and let him know he's
doing good and I'm proud of him.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
That is so sweet.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
We need to do that a lot more often with
the people that we love around us. That's your man,
your man, my man. All right, Well, shine a light
on him, and thank you so much for calling. Thank you, yes,
And if you couldn't get through eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty is an Emma.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
You can still shine your lights.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
And when we come back some yet, man, this young
thug Rigo Trau is home.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Mayhem.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
This is like a movie, and we're to talk about
the judge getting removed now and what.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Does that look like for the future of this case.
It's way up, yore, She's about to blow the lid
ab off this spot.

Speaker 8 (03:52):
Let's get it, oh, angelus feeling that yet, come and
get the tea.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
All right, it's way up and it's time for some
yet and.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Young thug, this trial, this Rico trial, is even more
chaotic now the judge was recused from the case.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
What is this going to mean going forward?

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Dan, you're a huge young Thug fans, and you know
his lawyer had filed the motion to dismiss the judge
from the case after he met with prosecutors and state
witnessed Kenneth Copeland last month without the knowledge of the
of a young Thug and his legal team. So now
they already have named the replacement Shakura l. Ingram, but
a new start date for the trial has yet to
be confirmed.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
What do you feel like is gonna happen. It feels
like it's too much now.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
I hope it's all good news for Thug.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, and it's good news for him, but it's also like,
I know, we're not about to start this all over
again because it feels like they have a real vendetta
and they haven't been really able to prove much.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
Yeah, I feel like the judge has to come in
like verse to what was going on before though, you know,
and not have to like redo.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
This entire trial, cause you know, they had to.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
They had threatened to throw his lawyer in jail, right,
and then he was like, well, let me go be
in jail with Thug in that case.

Speaker 6 (04:58):
But the changing of the judges isn't can effect like
what the lawyers and the prosecutors were saying to the
witnesses and everyone on the sand.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
It just feels like a mess. I know, that's what
it is. And it's been dragging on. This is like
the longest trial ever. All right, singer Ingrid Andres. Now
a lot of people have been posted making it and
I'm wondering how she's feeling today after this. But she
was doing her rendition of the star Spangled banner at
the home the Major League Baseball home run derby in Arlington, Texas.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
And this was last night. And here's what it sounded like.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
The booms, bus.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Yaypool, the night.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
Lot of what.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
What'd you think?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I honestly think me and you can do a better job.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
And I was watching the news this morning and I
saw gil king like she normally sings amazing and I
don't know what happened. Everybody has an off night, but
it was pretty bad. I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, because
a lot of people were comparing this to Fergy. Hopefully
she could figure out a way to capitalize off of this.

(06:14):
All right, Kanye and his wife Biakus and sorry have
been banned from LA restaurants, you know, well a couple
of them. And this is because of an outfit that
she had on over the weekend. She arrived at a
local barbecue restaurant and when I tell you, it looked
like she had nothing on. Did you see the picture
I did? It was completely see through this shirt. It

(06:34):
looks like she's naked. And I don't understand why he
would go out like that knowing that there's like I'm
off for you know, expressing yourself, wear what you want
to wear.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
But this was a little too much.

Speaker 6 (06:46):
There's also been reports that Bianca's father thinks that like
Kanye's brainwashing her and making her wear this type of
stuff and this was never who she was.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
So yeah, that has to be really hard for her
whole family to be like, why are you doing this?
Because usually she does wear very revealing outfits and they're
not really nice looking either too. By the way of
these outfits, it's not like there're stylish. You can get
away with certain things, but this was just like you
might as well have just not had a shirt on
at all.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Period. All right, Well, that is your ut.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
When we come back, we have about last night, and
this is gonna be an embarrassing situation. I'm sure a
lot of people can relate to. But it has to
do with getting your credit card declined. While you're out,
whether you're buying purchasing items at a store or at
a restaurant, your car gets declined. What do you do next?

Speaker 3 (07:32):
I'll tell you. And about last night, it's way up.
So about last night, Yes, I went down. What's up?
His way up?

Speaker 2 (07:42):
At Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee on a Tuesday. My
guy Dan is here with me.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
He's here every day.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
He don't normally get to talk though he's our producer.
But anyway, last night I was I actually texted you
about this. I went out for a meeting and while
we were out, the person's car got declined when it
was time to pay that bill.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
It is embarrassing time. And then he was like, no,
you know, I don't know why this is happening. And
the guy was like, I ran it three times and
it didn't work, so I don't know what to tell you.
And when I tell you, he was so embarrassed. But
he was traveling into town for work and I guess
they probably did like a fraud alert on his card,

(08:21):
and that's why it's a client. So he managed to
clear it up, but he kind of got an attitude
with the waiter, and I feel like it wasn't the
waiter's fault.

Speaker 6 (08:27):
What do you think, Uh, yeah, no, that's definitely not
the waiter. I mean, like, what do you wanted to do?

Speaker 4 (08:31):
He ran the car? Ye wanted to do card de client.
It's not like you can make it work.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Yeah, so you know, how do you react in a
situation like that? Has that ever happened to you?

Speaker 1 (08:39):
It?

Speaker 9 (08:39):
Has?

Speaker 4 (08:40):
It?

Speaker 6 (08:40):
Actually happened to me on a date one time? That
was really embarrassing. Yeah, it wasn't alert.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
I literally didn't anything. I just didn't have enough. Yeah,
it was really bad. It was embarrassing. What I do?

Speaker 6 (08:50):
I called my mom and then what happened? She helped
me pay for it, and then I paid her back. Yeah,
it was really embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
And what did the girl say?

Speaker 4 (08:58):
I played it off?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Do you say, like, what played it on?

Speaker 4 (09:01):
I just said I gave the wrong card?

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Then mom?

Speaker 6 (09:04):
Yeah, yeah, I stepped away and pretended like I was
going to call the bank. But I called my mom
because I knew well, no, I didn't know. I had
a gut feeling, did you know? Because she ordered like
one wing and expensive. Oh, it was like ninety dollars
this is the Street Team days though I was you
on the Street team, Okay, making much of.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
It to the street, you go.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
I've had it happen at Bloomingdales once I was charging
some stuff and I guess somebody had actually used my
card for rigulantly before. So now every time I was
going there, they have to call and it was embarrassing.
And I was actually with Mike Kaiser at the time
from Atlantic Records. He was house shopping and so was I,
and he started filming me.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
I appreciate when banks like will cancel the card if
they detect fraud. I mean, I know it's like it's
a headache in the moment.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Yeah, but you feel protective.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
I mean, I've had it happen to me.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
But we definitely want to hear you guys stories.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
So eight nine fifty fifty and for last word, I
would love to air some of those credit card declined
embarrassing stories.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Share with us. It's happened to everybody, I think at
some point. And when we come.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Back, let's talk about Arihanna and Natalie Portman. What is
the connection there? We'll tell you about it. It's way
up in yeat.

Speaker 8 (10:10):
This says truth in the rooms from industry shade to
all the gossip out send Angela's spieling that yet.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
What's up his way up at Angela yee? I'm Angela ye,
and it's time for your yee t. Congratulations to Diamond
from Crime Mob. Apparently she is pregnant.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
She posted a picture of herself in the supermarket and
said teen girl or teen boy, and that's how we
found out.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Who knew?

Speaker 2 (10:35):
I'm also a rest in peace to Kobe Bryant's father
and basketball great Joe Jellybean Bryant. Unfortunately he has passed
away at the age of sixty nine. According to the
Philly Inquirer, he recently suffered a stroke and had been
battling health issues for quite some time, so our condolences
go out to his family. Now, let's talk about Natalie

(10:56):
Portman was on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, and
she talked about how Rihanna helped her deal with her divorce.
And here is what Jimmy Fallon asked her.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
It was an amazing experience for me. I think every
woman going through divorce should get to have Rihanna say
to her that she's a bad It was exactly what
I needed. It was a formative moment.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Then he also played the actual footage from when she
ran into Rihanna and Rihanna said this, I love kidding
me or one of the proudests in Hollywood.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
That's dope. Rihanna's amazing.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Imagine like you're going through something and then Rihanna says
something positive. That's why you never know what could change
somebody's whole mindset. You run into Rihanna and she's like, look,
you're so dope. All right now? The baby was recently
on Cam Newton's Funky Friday podcast, and he's been laying
low lately. As far as before, we used to see
him getting into it, certain things happening, but now he

(11:52):
says he's through with all of that, hanging out running around.
What does he want to do? Hang out with his kids.
Here's what he said when I just.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Rolled down, said Lanta, I wrote down. Kids. They right
there with me and they really keep the grounded.

Speaker 7 (12:03):
Man.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Ask anybody to run me like you won't see me
around the crew. No, none of that. I rather kick
it with my little ones. You get you what I'm saying.
They still peel dance by me.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Not a bad idea for the baby.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
All right, Well that was your yet And when we
come back, we have your under the radar. And today
is an amazing day because you know why, it is
Amazon Prime Day.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
We'll talk about it. It's way up. Take the news,
got news. This in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
All right, it's way up. I'm angela yee, and it's
time for your under the radar. You know, I'm gonna
always try to help you'll out with what's going on. Well,
today is Amazon Prime Day, and so make sure you
guys look and see what kind of deals you can get.
July sixteenth and seventeenth are the two day main events,
so you'll see prices being cut across the board. You'll
see all different kinds of deals. So if you're like

(12:53):
me and you're trying to make sure you handle things
for your home or whatever it is that you need.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Maybe you need some Apple AirPods.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Maybe you need Sono's products, Maybe you need Roku or
Ninja air fry oven, any of those things are available
for Prime Day. Dan, I know you're all over it.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Yeah, I actually need a new TV. I'm gonna look
at it.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
But I also, here's some TVs right here. What size?

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Let me help you out in the sixties. Good sixties
will be great.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Oh, here's a Sony sixty five.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Inch TV, good brand. How much.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
There's a couple of different ones. We can get to
this one for one ninety eight dollars. That's not good enough.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
No, all right, I mean it's a Sony, not my budget.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
But if you want to get an Insignia, you can
get a sixty five inch TV for three hundred and
fifty dollars budget. Everybody's head perked up when I said that.
But yeah, just letting you guys know today happens to
be Prime Day.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
I get overwhelmed by Prime Day me too.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
It's like, yeah, because you know, as y'all know, I'm
gonna start posting some pictures of what's going on in
my home. But as you guys know, I've been working
on that more than anything, and so it's been a
little tough because every day I'm buying something, and every
day I just had light bulbs delivered to my house
because I realized I didn't have any light bulbs. But yeah,
all the things that I need to have, all right now,

(14:04):
let's go into this whole.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Donald Trump.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
RNC was yesterday day one, and one person who spoke
at the Republican National Convention, which is in Milwaukee and
it continues today is Amber Rose. And we had the
audio of what amber Rose had to say.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
And I believe the left wing propaganda that Donald Trump
was a racist. I did my research and looked into
all things Donald Trump. I realized Donald Trump and his
supporters don't care if your black, white.

Speaker 6 (14:33):
Gay, or straight.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
It's all love. And that's what it hit me. These
are my people. This is where I belong. I don't
know what research she did, but maybe Donald Trump.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Bo just said she watched all of his interviews and
campaign trails.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Maybe he'll be at the SlutWalk holding a sign that says,
I am a slut who knows anything could happen. But anyway,
that is your under the radar. Now, you know we
got the way it mixed. At the top of the hour, Pelas,
we have a special guest joining us today, Spice, And
you know she has an album that's coming out on

(15:10):
that's coming out in a couple of.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Weeks, right all right?

Speaker 2 (15:12):
In twenty fifth Mirror, The twenty fifth Mirror This is
the album because it's a twenty fifth anniversary of her
being in this business and sometimes you gotta look in
the mirror. And we also debuted her single Round Round
featuring Bust of Rhymes. But she'll be joining us in
the flesh. It's way up. She's like the Talt like
they and Jealie Jean like they and Jealie Jean.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
Man, She's spilling it all.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
This is yeat.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Well, all right, it's way up on Angela yee and
it's time to get to your yea tea now. Prince
his estate will not sign off on a Netflix documentary.
This documentary has been years in the making. They first
signed this dale back in twenty eighteen. It was a
six hour series, but the final cut was nine hours.

(15:56):
I would to see nine hours of this Prince documentary.
Netflix believes that a compromise can still be worked out,
and the director is not interested in a truncated version
of the film, though so at first, Ava Duburnay was
tapped to be in charge of this documentary and direct it,
but Ezra Edeman took over more than four years ago.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
What do you think about that?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Dan?

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Are you a Prince fan?

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Not like you.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
I know, I do love.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Prince so and his estate is definitely very you know,
I mean, we have this Broadway play coming, this is happening.
I can't imagine only having a six hour series. Prince
was a fascinating person. But if that's what it has
to be, they got to figure that out and cut
out three hours of footage.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
You know.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
All right now, Lonnie Love has some comments about Tyler
Perry's latest which is Divorce in the Black. She said,
I love that Tyler is paying black actors. Now, I
wish you would hire black writers and directors that have
experienced to help them with his movies. He could improve
the movies and make them award worthy if he would
stop trying to save money by doing the writing and
directing himself.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
That's been a common criticism of Tyler over the years.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Yeah, and this is you know, I told you guys
this yesterday Rotten Tomatoes on the Tomato meter, they gave
the movie a zero percent, but the fans didn't.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Right.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
This is just certain critics that rated the movie and
gave it a zero percent.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
And people have said that.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
But it's interesting because he does pay his act is
more than anybody else does. So I don't think it's
about money. It feels like it's about something else all
right now. IRV Gotti is being sued of sexual assault
in Miami. Date According to the Miami New Times, fifty
four year old Jane Doe has accused him of raping
her on several occasions. The woman, who was not named,

(17:42):
says these incidents occurred from twenty twenty to twenty twenty
two in Saint Martin, Miami, and Atlanta. She claims that
she met him in the summer of twenty twenty and
allegedly he took her on a vacation where he began
to coerce her into having intercourse, and he gave her
an ultimatum, have sex or get sent home. After that trip,
became a couple and dated for two years, but she

(18:03):
says there was a constant abuse. Allegedly, she said that
she would have to perform sexual acts on him on
him at her against her will, and while staying at
the Four Seasons, he forced her to give him oral
sex in the elevator, according to her report, and also
in an uber as well. So she said she suffered
from emotional and psychological harm and actually had to be

(18:24):
admitted into a psychiatric ward after all of this. So
he has not yet commented on these allegations.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
And she accused him of tarnishing her.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Name as he spread lies to his vast social network
in and around LA and she said she's fearful to
leave her home because of this. So this is just
the initial legal documents. We don't know what his side
of this is yet, and I'm sure more information will
end up coming up because this is something that's public
that he's she's suing him for. All right, Well, that

(18:54):
is your ee T And when we come back, we
have asked yee.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a number?

Speaker 2 (19:00):
All this up? Any question that you have when you're
here to help. In the meantime, here's some Chris Brown.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
You saw him? You see him on too? Are you
saw a summer walkers? Ms?

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Brown?

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Under the Influence's way up?

Speaker 5 (19:09):
All right?

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Everybody e sens with its relationship for career advice.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Should you should know? This is ask ye? What's up?
Is way up at Angela? Yee?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
I'm Angela ye, and it's time for ask ye. Eight
hundred and two nine two fifty one fifty is a
number if you have any questions. And today we have
Chris on the line.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
What's up, Chris, Hey, how's it going to Angelo? I'm good?
How you doing?

Speaker 8 (19:32):
I'm doing well?

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Hi, Ray, I'm glad to hear that. So what's your
question today for ask ye?

Speaker 8 (19:37):
So, I'm a freelance videographer and I'm just trying to
figure out how to justify my rate. On some opportunities,
I find myself in situations where I'm not getting enough
pay for how much work I'm doing. In other situations,
I find myself picking out on opportunities for overcharging and
not being able to renegotiate down. So I was just

(19:58):
curious if you had any advice for, you know, setting
your rate and setting your tone sort of okay job.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
I understand and hear what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
So if you don't have a standard rate that is
like an hourly rate, you know, I don't know how
you would do that. I think that's a good thing
to establish. But also ask people what their budget is.
I think sometimes we end up undercharging when people agree
too quickly, you know how, You're like, damn, I should
have asked for more right when they're like, okay, I

(20:25):
got it. I actually like to ask people their budget first.
That's how I do things, and then if it's too low,
I'll say, well, this is what my rate is. And
so I usually like to let them come at me
with the price first. Now, sometimes that goes right back
at you and they're like, no, I just need to
know what your rate is, and that's when you give
your standard rate. But just make sure you know what
that is, right, and if they say, oh, that's too

(20:47):
much or whatever, then say, well, you know what were
you thinking?

Speaker 8 (20:51):
Yeah, it helps them sort of set the tone instead
of you having to set it.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
But it's also important to know that some jobs, if
it's not enough money, you don't have to take because
unless you're in a bind. But I will say that
you don't want to set the tone where people sometimes
talk to each other so they're like, oh, I only
pay X, Y and Z. Because what's hard sometimes now
is that there are people that will do work way cheaper,
but a lot of times it comes out way cheaper

(21:17):
and you have to let people know that as well.
So I think as long as you have a portfolio
of what you've done that you can show people and
let them know, Look, I charge this because this is
the experience that I have, and it's going to get
done right, It's going to be on time, and you'll
be satisfied, you know, with my work. And so I
think it's also really important for you to be very
confident in what it is that you do.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Mm hm, I hear that.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
And sometimes you know, and we undervalue ourselves. People think
your work isn't good, So I know it feels weird.
But sometimes if you don't charge enough, people think, well,
he's cheap, he must.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Not be good, right, Yeah, And you got to let
people know you get what you pay for.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
And so as long as you have that good quality
work and you can stand behind that and do what
you need to do, then people should not have a
problem paying because those people who are gonna haggle with
you over a few dollars, you probably don't want to
be bothered with them. A lot of times that ends
up being more trouble than it's worth.

Speaker 7 (22:09):
Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 8 (22:10):
Well, I appreciate the advice.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
All right, absolutely, thank you so much for calling, and
good luck with that.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
And let us see your work.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
What's your page in case anybody's you know, looking for somebody.

Speaker 8 (22:20):
Uh, you could look up the page shot overshot on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Shot overshot, Okay, not overshot yep on Instagram. All right,
I'm gonna go take a look. Now I might need
your services.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
Yeah sounds good.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
All right, thank you for calling. Have a good one
you too. All right?

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Well that was ask ye eight hundred and two nine
two fifty fifty just in case you couldn't get through.
And when we come back, we have Spice joining us.
Her album Mirror twenty five is coming out. She made
that announcement. It's a twenty five track album and it'll
be celebrating her twenty five years in this business. It
comes out on August ninth. But we'll talk about a
whole lot. It's way up.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Oh you vibe it way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
Come right back more now.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
What'sps way ye for Angela Yee. And I'm really excited
to have this guest in the building. She's always gonna
cause all kind of drama. We're not drama, or you
get the people talking. We got spicy hair.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
What's up? Sis? What's up? And you know we premiered
your song round and Around.

Speaker 9 (23:18):
Yeah, ye, round, round, round and down and it's perfect
time for that, yeah, because you know, it's like summer
loading and I just want people to dance and have fun.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
That's just what it is, I know.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
And you know what, though, as much as you want
people to dance and have fun, this new album that
you have on the way is a reflection of all
of the things that you've been through, and I think
in your music, you know, sometimes that's reflective. Other times
it is dance and have fun. But it's so important
to understand the journey because twenty five years, it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
And this album celebrates nineteen ninety nine.

Speaker 9 (23:55):
You know, I started in nineteen ninety nine, and twenty
five years is a long time for me to still
be relevant today. That's really what gets me because you
have a lot of people who started when I started,
and they, you know, to just be consistent and in
an ever growing music industry. It really is just humbling
for me to know that I've done twenty five years
and now I'm like the Queen a dancehall. I started

(24:17):
from nothing. Literally, come up, I'm not doing this project
independently by myself as a black woman from Jamaica. I said,
just make me feel good to see myself and I
feel proud of myself because I never gave up despite
what nobody said.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
And to be clear, you have a lot of accolades.
A lot of times.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
You're the first dance woman artists you know, to win
and the words. You're the first one that brings Shaggy
and Seampa together.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
On a song.

Speaker 9 (24:40):
Yes, you know that song has over three hundred millions
down God damn there.

Speaker 7 (24:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (24:46):
So I'm just always just super happy and humbled over
the blessing from God because it's just by the grace
of God while I'm still just you know, creating music
and doing it.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Right now we are talking to Spice, you know.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Sometimes when I'm also watching Love and Hip Hop, we
get a glimpse into how hard that can be for you,
Like with Carlie Red that'sh a girl, but y'all be
you know, going back and forth, and I remember there's
one scene when You're like, I just need to walk away,
I don't want to do this, and then you did
make up and apologize.

Speaker 9 (25:13):
And for me, you know, reality TV is just like
your real life. The only problem I have sometimes is
that people don't understand that a thirty second clip is
not what happened for the whole year.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
It was a whole yeah, And I think with that
one in particular, I remember you saying also that you know,
you feel like you always have to defend yourself because
they were trying to make it seem like you were
being loud and aggressive. I'm used to that, and I
get that because I'm always labeled as the angry black
woman for everybody else is allowed to display their emotion
however they choose. Yeah, I do notice that on the

(25:45):
show because and when you know, what makes it worse
when people be like, all right, calm down, and that
makes it even.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Madter like that telling me calm down. I didn't even
and the next thing, you know, you're like yea. And
another thing too, what I always say, just.

Speaker 9 (25:59):
Because something did not happen on camera, it doesn't mean
it didn't happen, right, And some of the girls that's
why in my new song eighty five Tea, I did say,
some of them girls do love and hip hop.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
They cap because chasing.

Speaker 9 (26:11):
Yes, you know what happened, but because the camera is on,
and because you want to look good on TV, and
because you want to be like the perfect person and
you want to play the victim.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
Then it becomes the tears and oh my god, and
then everybody's like, oh my god. And I'm like, here
we go again because.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
I know what happened, all right, Spices here, we're getting
ready for love and hip Hop Atlanta to return, but
we're also getting ready for her album Mirror twenty five
that's coming out on August ninth.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
We have more with Spice when we come back.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
We about to do this.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
Yeah, yeah, more way up with angel Now you.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
Know what it is, what it is?

Speaker 3 (26:45):
What's up? His way up?

Speaker 2 (26:45):
But Angela yee, I'm here and my girls. Spice is
in the building. Back to this album twenty eighty five.
T first of all, such a creative video, even though
they're pregnancy.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Why I have people mad?

Speaker 9 (26:57):
I was like sad, but it was my was my
new life, you know, that was my I was given
a new life and a lot of people don't understand it,
and that's okay. I'm grateful and humbled to be able
to say I escaped death right and I don't take
that lightly.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
I know it wasn't a game.

Speaker 9 (27:12):
I just felt like I got a new chance of life,
and that's what I was celebrating and I want them
for that photo, you know, so it meant a lot
to me.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
I really was praying for you during that time because
I've always had, you know, such an affinity towards you,
and to see and people didn't know what was happening. No,
you know either, so to see that. But the twenty
eighty five t video, you're like an old lady. Yes,
that way, you're going to be a cute old lady
in twenty eighty five.

Speaker 8 (27:39):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
I think so too, And I'm still gonna be that
I was.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
But you definitely addressed some things on there, like somebody
who worked for you going behind your back.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
You put it in the song I did.

Speaker 9 (27:53):
Here, I am saying my best friend slept with my
kid's father.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
This was your fiance at the time, at the time,
we were engaged at the time when it happens. So yes,
he was my fiance and she was I consider her
my best friend. But she said it too, so that
was heart wrenching for me. On the flip side, contrary,
she's not here to defend herself. She now has a
different story three years later, But what is a different story.
I'm just I'm just like, did it not happen, because

(28:19):
I don't see how you have a different story.

Speaker 9 (28:21):
She says something else that it was forced, and there's
a lot of different things. So okay, okay, so I
just leave it alone. But I just shared my story
that you know that was heard wrenching for me.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Is he still active in the children's and your kids?

Speaker 5 (28:35):
Like?

Speaker 9 (28:35):
Oh, in my kids' life. He's never been active in
my kid's life. I'm a single parent since their birth.
He has never given me a dollar us to any
of those kids. My son is seventeen years old now,
and I'm so proud of myself. I did that on
my own as a single mother without the father, and
they're doing great. My kids are beautiful, they're happy, you know,
they're living great. Thanks be to God that he, you know,

(28:56):
was able to put me in a position so as
a woman, I could stand up on my own and
support my kids.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
But their father has never supported them in any way.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Spice, does Love and Hip Hop ever tell you need
to date somebody on the show?

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Me what I did on that show?

Speaker 9 (29:11):
There's not nobody nobody do they ever say bring someone
like they always want to know about my dating life.
But I feel like keeping that a secret because these
men ain't it, They're not it.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
I feel like my person is not born yet.

Speaker 7 (29:25):
It's not around.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
He's not around. I'm not bonn yet.

Speaker 9 (29:28):
I'm probably gonna date somebody definitely younger than me, because
mine about.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Twenty five years you'll get it. I feel so because
my person, he's not around. I'm not bond yet. These
new men, for.

Speaker 7 (29:39):
Real, she's laughing.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
That's true, This new man is not it. You're gonna
be like Madonna ship. I'm not that bad, not that bad.
But are you dating Angela? Oh, that's nice to clift
this on me.

Speaker 9 (29:54):
No, because that's good last time. It's so nice that
you're a person. Yes, yes, and we're doing boss girls
out in the streets. It is man, ain't it all right?

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Well?

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Leg, I hope that when he's born, you know, by
the time he's twenty five years old, you're gonna be
just like you look in the twenty eighty five te video.
Well again, Spice, thank you so much. I do always
love having you on, and you know I'm always such
a big fan. Thank you too. By the way, thanks

Speaker 5 (31:29):
Yes, I was calling about my card declining. It was
my first date with the guy I'm filled with. In
his card decline, he told me he didn't have enough money,
but with me and my son, my son was like
two works the time. So I'm like, damn, I know
my cards on decline.

Speaker 7 (31:43):
Is it fine, Samantha, I'm shunning the light on my Sun.
You tried right. He's a great Sun. He goes to
