this good energy going today. When we come back with you,
t we'll talk about this fund that has granted two
hundred and thirty thousand dollars to two black founders, the
Social Change Fund United. And that's Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul,
and Dwayne Wade. Okay, it's way up.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
They say in the rooms from industry shade to all

Speaker 2 (04:01):
All right, it's way up. I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here.
I'm my own brand. Yeah, she got her site back.
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
All right, now, let's get into some yet. Carmelo Anthony,
Chris Paul, and Dwayne Wade. They have a fund that
has granted two hundred and thirty thousand dollars to two
black founders who are affecting social good, the Social Change
Fund United. Now, the two organizations are Chicago based Gray
Matter Experience and the Los Angeles nonprofit All Star Code
(04:31):
to create the We Got Next program. So this was
all announced through Ebony and that's going to equip youth
with tools to launch their own businesses and to serve
one thousand members in black and brown communities. And that
is what the outlet is reporting. So congratulations. I think
that is so important. Yeah, we Got Next program.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
I like that. You know, I was like, when are
we launching our funds? That's exactly what you said.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
And you know, people are always like, why do you
report it if you do something good, But because it
does inspire other people who are like I want to
do something like that. So I love when people report
the positive things that they're doing.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Okay, so let's do it by the end of the year.
Let's just get it started, all right, let's get it started.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
All right.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Young boy, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
He had his virtual court hearing and this was in
a Northern Utah court room related to his ongoing prescription
drug fraud case. So during the hearing, you know, he's
got the wildest fans.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yes they're they're die hard. Well, they hacked the stream
and here's what it sounded like.
Speaker 9 (05:28):
All right, So if there's an amendment of the charges
that that may result in another preliminary Free. Everyone needs
to stay muted, okay, so free, all right, mister Golden's
case is been called. He's done with court today. For
those of you interested, everyone, keep yourselves muted.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Shut up, so disrespectful, shut show b a up and
on the stream.
Speaker 10 (06:01):
You know the these fans don't play. I've found that
out earlier today.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yes we did. We'll talk about it maybe, yeah, maybe
we will, maybe we won't. So show no attention to
certain things, all right. And fourteen NBA teams are facing
litigation for copyright infringement, and that is because they were
using songs. I guess you have to get permission to
actually use those songs in the NBA. So they actually
(06:27):
exploited the copyrights by synchronizing the works with the videos
which are intended to promote defendance commercial activities. And then
these were on consumer facing platforms. And those teams include
the Knicks, the Magic, the Cavs, the Pacers, the Nuggets, Timberwolves,
the Hawks, Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans, seventy six Ers,
(06:47):
the Sons, pretty much everybody.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Yeah, this use music.
Speaker 10 (06:51):
Everyone uses music, and you have to have permission, you
have to pay for you have to pay for the rights.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Well, you know who did get permission, Vice President Kamala Harris. Right,
during her first official visit to her her campaign headquarters,
she walked out to Beyonce's song Freedom, Freedom Now. According
to CNN, they said the team got approval from Beyonce's
reps to use the song.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Throughout your presidential campaign.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
And Beyonce does have a very strict Clarence guideline around
her music, but they gave very quick approval to the
campaign and they said she got Clarence just hours before
she walked out to.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
The song love It Another Win Baby.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
All right, Well, when we come back, we have about
last night. That's where we discussed what we did last night.
We're outside, Yes, we were not inside, not inside outside
all right, it's way up.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
So about last night, Yes, psid went.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Down last night. It's way up. I'm here, Jasmine Brand
is here. Good morning, Angela.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
We've been together since we were in Detroit over the weekend,
so we've been rocking.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yesterday after the show, we were with Mano.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
We were Mayo's having some back issues. I feel like
everybody's having back issue, right now.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Yeah, I feel like we need to stretch more, right.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
I think, And that is something that when I went
to get acupuncture, that like you have to stretch every day.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
But it is a maintenance thing too. You know.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
People look at massages as something that is a luxury,
but also like you want to make sure your back
doesn't get messed up.
Speaker 10 (08:17):
You really believe in and getting massages. I do, Yeah,
you do.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
I mean I don't get them that often, maybe like
once every couple of months, but I do feel like
it's necessary. A lot of us are sitting all the time.
A lot of us are constantly looking down at our phones.
I know, I'm worried about our posture. They said that
the kids, as they're growing up, their neck is gonna
develop like looking down.
Speaker 10 (08:38):
Listen, my daughter already has a phone and she's not
even three, So I'm.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Concerned about that. Wow, that's really early. I know it's
not good. I'm not proud of it. What she has
her own number two? What made you decide to do that?
It wasn't me, it was her da da Her dad
did that.
Speaker 10 (08:52):
Her dad got her phone because when we're out and
we want to, you know, keep her preoccupied. We're at
the restaurants and stuff. I give her phone and she's cool.
If I don't I going to do. Back in the day,
we took care of our kids.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
That's what we did. But now it's like take this
iPad kids. In my defense, I don't do it all
the time, but we do do it sometimes.
Speaker 10 (09:07):
And she has her own phone. She has her own phone,
or she also has an iPad, so she has two devices.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Man I don't have any kids, but I will tell
you this.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
I was in the airport, were you with me or
outside of the airport there's it was a kid laying
on the was with you on the ground and the
mom was just letting him lay on. The kids and
she had two other Oh yeah, that's right. We were
waiting for a cab and sometimes people just be like,
this is too much lay on the ground.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
I had a baby, she was holding her front. She
had another one and then she had homeboy lane on ground.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
I wanted to be like, do you need some help, ma'am.
She's like you she's little board this one. But anyway,
we were walking to go have a drink at Ivra
and Mano had never been there before. While we were
walking there, a guy in a motorized wheelchair made a
beeline to almost run Mano over. I don't know what
this was about.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
He definitely was trying to run over. I had to jump.
Speaker 10 (09:56):
Here's a great thing. Mano wasn't even upset. Mana was
like only in New York.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
That something like this happened. And then we took the
train in today, me and Jasmine. We did, and we're
on the train and this woman is getting off the
train and she goes Angela Yee and Jasmine brand the
website that what did she say?
Speaker 10 (10:12):
That the website it never reports anything positive about Nicki Minaj.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
And she ran off the train.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
We were like, all right, report listen them bars don't play.
All right.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Well, that was our experiences. That's about last night. But
when we come back, I want to discuss something. And
this was a big topic that we were talking about.
Shannon Doherty. She recently passed away. She had cancer. She
had gost cancer, all right, and she talked about what
she wanted at her funeral and who she didn't want
to attend, and I thought this was an interesting topic.
She even discussed where she wanted her remains, how she
(10:44):
wanted to die. These are things I haven't thought about,
Like when I died, do I want to be cremated? Like?
Speaker 2 (10:48):
What type of service do you want? I've already thought
about this for u FI.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Is there a list of people who you would not
want to come to your funeral? Are these things that
you guys think about? Call us up eight hundred two
nine to fifty one fifty. We'll play the audio for
you when we come back. It's way up.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
It's way up with Angelae, let's go.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
You are a media maven, right, you never know what
Ange's gonna say.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah, it's way up. I'm here, Jasmine brand is here.
I'm not just any brand, I'm my own brand.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Yes, and listen, I don't know. Have you ever thought
about your funeral or what's going to happen? Well? Shannon
Dougherty was talking before she passed away because she had
breast cancer. She was with her best friend Chris Cortazzo
on her Let's Be Clear podcast about her funeral. She
wanted to be a party. She didn't want people to
be sad. And I feel the same way. Yes, I
got what my funeral to be a celebration of life.
You want a good DJ at your at your funeral, I.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Need a DJ. I wanted to be upbeat. I wanted
to be open, bar, top shelf. You need good food
and probably you want some edibles there for your guests, right.
I don't know about that because that gets people like
feeling so somber and reflective.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Yeah, okayhow that's going to hit people? I don't want
to do that. But here's what she have to say,
because she also has a list. And I never thought
about this, the people who I don't want there, okay.
Speaker 11 (11:57):
And there's a lot of people that I think would
show up I don't want there, Like I don't want
them there because the reasons for showing up aren't necessarily
the best reasons, Like they don't really like me, and
you know, if they have their reasons, and good for them,
but they don't actually.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Really like me enough. People want to be seen, and
then we know, So what do you guys think?
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Eight hundred nine fifty one fifty Do you have a
list of people you don't want? It's a funeral, Hey, Kim, Hi,
So we want to know have you thought about who
you don't want to come to your funeral?
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Is there a list?
Speaker 12 (12:35):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (12:35):
Yeah, this is a list, but my list is mine
to be a family, which is my mother's kids and family.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Your siblings.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Yes, you said my mother's kids.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
She said them. Yes, them people.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Oh my god, so your mother's kids and what else
do you say?
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Now?
Speaker 2 (12:53):
What is it about them that you don't want them
at your funeral?
Speaker 8 (12:57):
They're not ball my daughter's they have three daughters and
granddaughter got involved at or at or like really hate you,
just like I just.
Speaker 6 (13:07):
Realized a lot of stuff. They just they just really
bad people.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
All right, Well, look she got her list, but thank
you for calling him, no problem, thank you, she had
that ready. They're not even her siblings. They have mother's kids.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Hey ty hi, how are you?
Speaker 10 (13:22):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Guy? So cheerful now and we're talking about funerals. Are
just happy about it? Is there anybody you don't want
to come? Is there a list?
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (13:30):
There it has My sister. My sister has lists. And
the people who didn't mess with me in life should
not have met with me in death.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
I think it's crazy that people who don't mess with
you would want to come to your funeral because they
knows it.
Speaker 7 (13:44):
I'm don't lie. They're just coming for a day.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Off or to be knowed, Yeah, and to be lit
like you have on what Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
It's a fashion show. This is crazy.
Speaker 7 (13:55):
I don't like it. I have family members not invited
to my funeral.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
So yeah, so what happens if they try to come security?
Here's gonna be security.
Speaker 7 (14:09):
Yes, and she would be like no, ma'am, no, sir?
Speaker 2 (14:12):
How many? About roughly?
Speaker 10 (14:14):
How many people are on this not invited to your
funeral list?
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Like?
Speaker 2 (14:17):
What number are you looking at right now?
Speaker 12 (14:19):
About nine?
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Oh, it's not bad. Okay, that's nine people. Let's keep
it there. Let's not jump into the double digit.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
All right, Well there, you're fine. Thank you for calling.
I can't believe people really have a list.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
She's not playing. Her sister has the list. It'll be
like no, ma'am.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
All right, Well, thank you guys for calling eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
you can still leave a message and we'll hear your
response about your funeral.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
If there's a list of people who you don't want to.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Be there, all right, when we come back, we have
your yet and Chris Brown is now being sued for
fifty million dollars, will tell you what the incident was
that led to this lawsuit.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
Lid of off this fot let's get it. Angelus filling that.

He now has the number one album. Taylor Swift was
actually in that number one spot. Wow yeah, and he
knocked it down.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Wowe. Eminem still has it.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
This is his twelfth album and I think it's this
eleventh number one album, So congratulations to him. Two hundred
and eighty one thousand equivalent albums for the Death of
Slim Shady.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
So congultulations. He can take a break and come back
and still kill it. I mean, take a long break
as long as he wants.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Tilla Swift's album, by the way, slipped to number four,
but she had a twelve week.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Streak at number one. Okay, swifties all right.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
Drewski is going to be launching his own comedy and
music festival, the Couldafest, in Atlanta, so congratulations to him.
The festival will be hosted by him and DC Young
Fly and there'll be live sketches and exclusive performances from
Little Baby Kai, Sanat Sould, the Boy, Waka Flakka.
Speaker 2 (16:07):

Harris Supporter, Lord Yeah, I'm coming, Young Jack, Young Joe, Roscoe, Dash,
Travis Porter, dj On, Shot Boys.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Young La and more.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
I like that lineup, he said in a statement. Could
Affest won't be a traditional music and comedy festival. It's
going to be a celebration of Atlanta's culture and a
night full of hilarious sketches that bring us back to
the special times in our city's music history.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Okay, all right, nice time.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Yeah, the event is going to be happening on September
seventh at the State Farm Arena. So congratulations to him
for that. And tickets actually start pre sale tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
And cool how he started that whole joke and then
had a whole YouTube series.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
I met somebody at BT Awards that was actually a contestant.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Really on the show. And you've interviewed him before too, Yes,
Juicy came up here.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
All right, Now, Chris Brown has been sued for fifty
million dollars. It's not just him being sued, by the way,
after an alleged assault of four concertgoers backstage in Texas.
This incident took place at one of his concerts last Friday.
Here is CBS.
Speaker 13 (17:11):
Reporting singer Chris Brown and his entourage now Lis sit
in a lawsuit after a fight this weekend at Dicky's
Arena in Fort Worth.
Speaker 9 (17:19):
So.
Speaker 13 (17:19):
The lawsuit says several people were invited backstage after Saturday's concert,
Brown and others, they say, are then accused of attacking
the victims. At one point, the lawsuit states, a chair
was thrown at someone's head while others.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Were hit in the face, the ribs and the chest.
Speaker 13 (17:33):
Attorney Tony Buzzby says four men were beaten and at
least one is still in the hospital. That lawsuit seeking
damages of fifty million dollars.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Oh my goodness, this chair is wild. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
And the complaint, which was first reported by TMZ and
then Variety obtained it says that before leaving, one of
the concertgoers, Charles Busch, approached Chris Brown to congratulate him
on the show because they were invited backstage to meet
Chris Brown, and one of the members of Chris Brown's
(18:06):
entourage reminded him that that guy previously had issues with him,
and Chris Brown allegedly said, oh yeah, we were what's
up and we're I don't forget ish And then, according
to this lawsuit, Chris Brown in seven to ten members
of his entourage proceeded to assault him, punch him in
the chest, and that hood Boss picked up a chair
and threw it at Bush's head. So the other people
who are being sued our Live Nation, Sinkle, Siege, Hood
(18:30):
Boss and Yellow Beezy.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
He said he I'll remember you.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Yeah, oh yeah, we did have some issues before, and
you know, allegedly allegedly right. So, according to their attorney,
the Plant, the plaintiff's attorney, nobody should have to endure
what these clients endured, and they're going to seek the
maximum amount of damages allowed by law for this egregious.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Conduct fifty million.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
That's a lot, all right, Well, that is your yeete.
When we come back, we have under the radar. There's
so many things that I want to talk about today
that are happening in the news, but I think we're
going to focus on Kamala Harris right here, and I'm
gonna make sure that we get to all of these
other stories that are really critical, right now, but we'll
talk about what she had to say and why.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
According to Kamala Harris, they not like us. Okay, it's
way up the news.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
News.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
All right.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Well, you know, let's get ready for some under the radar. Amangela, Ye,
Jazzmine brand is here, yes, and there's a lot going on,
but we want to focus on Kamala Harris today as
she has been speaking, and a couple of quick things
rec and pes to former President Jimmy Carter.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
He just passed away.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
He was ninety nine years old, and the family did
put out a statement and confirm that that did happen,
all right. Also, the Secret Service Director, the one that
was in charge with Donald Trump's security, lacks substantial answers
to what happened the security failures that led to his
attempted assassination.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
So she has resigned. That's Kimberly Chetles.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
She's the US Secret Service Director formerly now and she
did say that she resigns with a heavy heart and
made a difficult decision to leave the agency and doesn't
want her departure to distract agents from their mission, all right,
now let's talk about Kamala Harris and her campaign. You
know Donald Trump was tweeting at Kamala Harris. You have
(20:26):
the tweets. Oh no, okay, Well, basically he was calling
her dumb and saying all kinds of sexist, misogynist things
about her last night. But here is what Kamala Harris
had to say as she spoke.
Speaker 14 (20:40):
As a young prosecutor. When I was in the Alameda
County District Attorney's office in California, I specialize in cases
involving sexual abuse. Donald Trump was found liable by a
jury for committing sexual abuse. As Attorney General of California,
I took on one of our country's largest fit colleges
(21:01):
and put it out of business. Donald Trump ran a
for profit college, Trump University, that was forced to pay
twenty five million dollars to the students it scammed.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Uh yeah, and listen. I didn't sat there.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
She was listing all the things that showed the right
side of things that she was on because there's a
lot of misinformation and the things that Donald Trump has done.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Here's what else she had to say. As district attorney.
Speaker 14 (21:28):
To go after polluters, I created one of the first
environmental justice units in our nation. Donald Trump stood in
mar Lago and told big oil lobbyists he would do
their bidding for a one billion dollar campaign contribution. During
the foreclosure crisis, I took on the big Wall Street
(21:51):
banks and won twenty billion dollars for California families, holding
those banks accountable for fraud. Donald Trumps just found guilty
of thirty four counts of fraud.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
All right, So let's be clear on what the difference is.
And I have to tell everybody to make sure you
look at Project twenty twenty five and what the plan
is if Donald Trump does become president, what they are
planning to do. That's why you cannot allow something like
that to happen. In addition to that, Kamala Harris has
raised eighty one million dollars. All right, that's a huge deal.
(22:25):
That's a presidential donation record. That's eighty one million dollars
in twenty four hours since Biden dropped out and endorsed her.
That's so exciting you all right, I know what I'll
be doing. All right, Well, that is your under the radar. Now,
you know, we have the way up mix at the
top of the hour plus we have from the Bay Area.
Adrian Marcel is going to be joining us, and he's
(22:46):
got some amazing things to talk about since he first
got signed to where he is now as an amazing
independent artist.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
It's way up.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
She's like a tout like they Angeli Jean like they
and Jealie Jean Man.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
She's spilling it all. This is Yeat.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
It's way up and I'm angela Yee. Jasmine brand is here.
Speaker 14 (23:07):
I'm not.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
I'm a home Let's get right into this Yeat. So
earlier we gave a rest in peace to Jimmy Carter.
Well apparently that was a death hoax. Somebody did a
whole entire fake letter and a lot of news reports
and outlists did pick this up. But now the Carter
Center has confirmed that the reports were false and that
Jimmy Carter is still alives.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Old, I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
All right, moving on, Let's talk about this shooting of
Sonya Massey, which has been awful and disgusting to see.
There's video, a thirty six minute bodycam footage that shows
the escalation that led to Deputy Sean Pee Grayson fatally
shooting Sonya Massy inside of her home. Now they were
responding to her call about a possible intruder. She called
(23:52):
nine one one, and they're telling her what to do.
They asked her to move this pot of boiling water,
and we actually, I know a lot of people will
find it very difficult to watch this footage, so I'm
giving you that warning, but here is some of and
she was doing everything the officers told her to do. Alright, alright, alright,
(24:26):
I can't listen to that part. But anyway, they told
her to move this boiling path. They didn't want the
house to catch on fire, and they were just laughing,
making you know, and I rebuke you in the name
of Jesus. I guess he didn't like that, and that's
what made him fire at her three times, including a
fatal shot to her head. Oh my gosh, awful. But
they did have the footage of this. Now. Sean Pete
(24:47):
Grayson has pleaded not guilty to charges the first degree murder,
aggravated battery, and official misconduct, and he is in custody
without bill. But this video was released yesterday on the
Illinois State Police's YouTube Channe and there's a national outrage
right now. Ben Crump has spoken on it and said
that when people see this footage, they are going to
be absolutely disgusted and horrified. Yeah, and we are, and
(25:09):
our condolences go out to her family. She didn't do
anything wrong for that police officer to shoot and kill her.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
I'm so glad that there's footage.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
So glad, yeah, but so sad that they have to
see that. And absolutely, you know, and I did see.
Since we're about to talk about this NBA player, former
NBA player Nick Young is calling out Team USA for
continuing to play amidst this news. He said, so, the
police shot and killed a thirty six year old black
lady holding a pot because she said, I rebuke you
in Jesus name, and we out here playing for USA.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Interesting, okay, And speaking.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Of playing for USA, A lot of people were disappointed
by Gilbert A. Rainus's comments when our team did just
barely win I think it was one hundred and one
to one hundred against South Sudan, and they posted some
of Gilbert A.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Rainass remarked on TikTok. Here's what he said. Almost losses
of Africans.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Were almost lost. He tried, this is.
Speaker 5 (26:06):
Crazy, man, embid over there, God damn throwing the game.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
He throwing the game for his cousins, and I was
supposed to be losing to air Up there.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
Come on, man, cool Runnings weren't supposed to lose on
the cool running scene.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
They only have shoes. They get their shoes from America.
We gotta ship them shoes. They don't even have basketball
ribs when you ball.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
I seen he had to walk what an hour and
a half to go shoot basketball.
Speaker 12 (26:34):
We losing to people who don't even they got baskets
in the back.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
They shooting on peach baskets in dirt, no shoes.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Not funny.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
And Joel Embiid actually responded to this when he was
asked about what he thought about the comments. He hadn't
heard all of it, but he said it was disappointing
and that especially at a time like this, to be
making comments like that. All right, well that is your yeat.
And I just want to point out a Jazzmine brand exclusive.
Glora Govan is allegedly going to be appearing on Basketball
Wives and Laura Govan is.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Returning The Sisters. Yes, the Sisters.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
And they also said that Royce Reid is also said
to be returning to Basketball Wives.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Off anybody watched it originally.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Yeah, all right, well that is your yet when we
come back, we have asked ye eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty call us up any question you have,
Jasmine and I are here to help eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty Nay everybody.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
Since with its relationship with career advice, Angela's dropping facts,
you should know if this.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Is Askee, what's up his way up at Angela? Yee,
I'm Angela. Ye, Jasmine brand is here. I'm here and
it's time for you guys to ask a question. Now.
Today we have a voicemail because you know we do
take voicemails, and if you ever want to leave a voicemail,
eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is a number,
or you can always go on the app and click
that little microphone in the corner and leave a message
that way.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Now today, here is the question.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
Okay, Angela, So I need some advice. It's from his
firstday next month and we're pretty open sexually with everything
else except for he wants to threesome and I don't
want to do it. So what do you think I
should do? I'm also Jamaican. So I'm just like, you know,
that kind of tabled with my culture. So what do
(28:16):
you think?
Speaker 2 (28:16):
All right, she's Jamaican and does not want to have
a threesome, but can.
Speaker 10 (28:20):
You give me some context of being Jamaican And it's
a little bit more conservative sometimes.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Sexually or definitely okay, but they also don't do certain
things like oral and by the way, they do a
lot of them. Just don't push do that.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
I like it, okay, all right.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
So my thing is this, if you don't want to
do something in the bedroom, don't do it.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Now.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
If it's something that you're interested in and you're like, okay,
I would you know, I'm not sure I would try that.
There's nothing wrong with trying something, but I will say this,
the fact that she says she's Jamaican, I wasn't sure
if it was a lot of times, I think we
grow up with these different taboos.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yeah, that you're.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
Not supposed to do this, you're not supposed to do that,
and it closes you off to wanting to do something because.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
You feel like it's wrong because you were told it
was wrong.
Speaker 10 (29:05):
And she did say I don't want to do it,
but then she said I am Jamaican, so you're saying,
maybe it's because she's Jamaican that she, you know, isn't
as open.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Like are there things that you would grew up thinking
were bad? Yeah? Yeah, and I end up doing them
so enjoying them. Everything was okay.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
But if it's a I don't want to do it
because I don't want to do it, then don't. But
if it's a well, I don't want to do it
because I'm not supposed to do it, but deep down
I kind.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
Of went to right, I want to try it out.
Then you know, you never know.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
But I do feel like I've heard a lot of
three some horror stories where relationships do end up getting damaged.
Speaker 10 (29:39):
At times, and at times I feel like women do
it because sometimes the man want to do it yeah,
and they're really not interested.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
And I do think ladies, if y'all want to do
a threesome or it should be because you want.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
To know because he does. Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
I think the times I've seen at work is when
it's been the woman, yeah, that wanted to do it
and initiated it. Because we've heard stories of women who
were like, I thought I would do this to please man.
And then it didn't work out because there's no pleasing him.
Now you've crushed a boundary and it's hard to go back.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Then there's more he wants to do.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Right, But then I've also known women who are like,
love it here, I want to do this, and I
want us to have a woman move in with us,
and so to each his or her own. But my
advice is, if it makes you uncomfortable, don't do it.
If you're a little curious, it's something to consider, and
then you have to set some clear rules for yourself.
But just know threesomes in particular, because it involves somebody
(30:30):
else who you cannot control and emotions that you also
cannot control, is a little bit riskier than anything else.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
All right, Well that was your ask ye eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
we can always take your message that way. And when
we come back, we have a special guest joining us.
Are in Bay season from the Bay Area. We have
Adrian Marcel and you're gonna love history of resilience, everything
that he's been through in his relationship, how his career
affected his relationship, taking a step back, but he's been acting.
(31:01):
You saw him in the Bobby the Barge story, and
he's got a new project out right now.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
It's way up.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
You want to know my name?
Speaker 5 (31:09):
Way up with Angela?
Speaker 2 (31:12):
What's up? Its way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
And I am here today with somebody who I personally
really like. A. J. Marcella is in the building. This
album is R and Bay, R and Season R and
Bay Season. So what is exactly R and BA. It's
a little different than R and B.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
It's a little different from R and B. You know
what I mean.
Speaker 12 (31:30):
I feel like everywhere around the world, you know, there
there's a way they are and B. You know what
I'm saying. If you even hear New York has a
way that they are and B. You know what I'm saying.
Chicago has a way of.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
R and B.
Speaker 12 (31:42):
L A, Atlanta, you know what I mean. And me
and Sonny B you know, my partner in crime with this.
You know, we sat back and wanted to figure out
what what is the way to Bay?
Speaker 4 (31:52):
There's R and B. You know what I'm saying. And
you just said it earlier. You know what I'm saying.
You like, look y'all, talk different, y'all, y'all moved different.
Speaker 12 (31:58):
You feel me especially high y'all, y'all take on women
and everything, the whole get down. So you know, it's
it's a blend of hyphi, it's a blend of traditional
R and B. You know what I'm saying. But it's
the lyrics, it's raw, the lingo. You know what I'm saying.
You feel me ao b if you know, you know,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
But it's it's it's just our culture.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
What does aob stand for?
Speaker 10 (32:20):
Uh?
Speaker 12 (32:20):
If I if I'm gonna be you know, you know,
more simple about it, you know, all on the all
on the baddy, you know what I'm saying. But yeah,
I'm trying to be polite because she just said she
don't want to hear too many.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
But you know, when I was in when I was
in the bay, and they were like, and I'm like, okay, guys, enough.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
With the you know, I don't want to be one
of these men, please.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
But then I also feel like you do have to
understand like culturally what people how they speak, and the
lingo and and what it's like when you go to
different areas.
Speaker 12 (32:53):
Got to understand like the women in the Bay, man,
they not like everywhere else.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 12 (32:59):
You had a pretty the prettiest women, and they will,
you know what I'm saying, go stupid on you.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
You know what I'm saying, Get just as Hyphi. You
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 12 (33:06):
So again, like the way we love is different. You know,
if you're not from there, if you don't understand the
culture and you walk up on you know what I mean,
two people having a conversation. You know, you might think
this being disrespectful. You might, you know what I'm saying,
But it's just our culture. It's the way that we love.
It's the way that we speak and talk. And we're
putting our culture into the music. You know, I feel like,
(33:28):
you know R and B needs it's it's free for
you to keep refreshing it and giving your own perspectives
of it, you know what I'm saying. So for us,
we felt like we've been missing more of that male
representation for R and B in the Bay.
Speaker 4 (33:43):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 12 (33:43):
You got the women who holding it down. You got
the Klanis, the Hers, the Keisha Koles, the Jane Hancocks. Man.
You know, I mean, there's so many out there doing it,
and for us, it's like, man, we want to bring
more light to the male R and B that comes
from the Bay Area, and we want to stamp it.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
You know, it started with the Jay Valentines. You know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
You had you had, I said, you pulled up on
them on their shows.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Come on, that's my boy, man, that's that's big bruh.
Speaker 12 (34:06):
You feel me him in tank and it's really dope
to get the stamp from him because he's kind of
the first person to use the term, you know, and
show respect that. At the same time, like me and SB,
you know, we're looking at it like it's time to
take it further.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
Though.
Speaker 12 (34:20):
We've had moments where you've heard R and B. You've
heard you know, I just want to right here.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
You feel me.
Speaker 12 (34:26):
You've heard I can't stand you.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
You know what I'm saying. You've heard these these R
and B moments. You feel me.
Speaker 12 (34:34):
But now it's like, nah, were taking it to the
next level. We got two hundred and fifty plus and
we're saying, here go the first six for you to
get a customers.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
You said you're doing three EPs right.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
On the three EPs.
Speaker 12 (34:43):
That's that that come into an album, you know, just
so that you know how how people digest music is
a lot different now.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
You know.
Speaker 12 (34:51):
It can come and go very fast, but at the
same time you can get left behind if you move
in too slow. So it's just that medium of just saying, hey,
we have all these records of fen to sit on them,
you know what I mean, because we don't have to.
But at the same time, we want to make sure
you get it in pieces. You got to feed, yeah,
digested coming back. I don't want to give you everything
because you're gonna be full, you know what I mean.
So it's just I want to start, but I want
(35:12):
you to do Hello.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Hello, Adrian Marcel is here.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
You can watch him on the Bobby de Barge story
playing James Barge, but also get his new EP that's
out right now. Are in Bay season. We have more
with him when we come back.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
It's way up.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
Do you want to know my name?
Speaker 5 (35:28):
Way up?
Speaker 2 (35:29):
With what's up?
Speaker 3 (35:33):
His Way up with Angela Yee and available right now.
Are in Bay season, Adrian Marcel, he's in the building. Well,
let's flash back now since we're you know, since we're
doing all this, let's flash back to when we first met,
because that was when you first signed your deal public. Yeah,
at Republic and I'll never forget because it was such
an amazing performance and experience.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
It was a rooftop party.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
Yeah, and I actually hosted you know that event and
they were like, we believe we had this new artists
and we want you to come and you know whatever,
and it was I was like, he's amazing.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
Oh man, I appreciate that, you know. It's always showed
love to Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
So it's interesting when I see articles that will be
like Rising R and B Star and I'm like, he's
been out.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
No, let him say that it's all good.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
I know what that's like for you because that's been like,
you know, over ten years.
Speaker 12 (36:19):
Yeah yeah, I mean you know, it's I look at
it like a blessing.
Speaker 9 (36:23):
Man.
Speaker 12 (36:23):
It's dope that that you can you can still be
here after ten years and for them to still look
at you like fresh, you know, rising, You know what
I mean. That's that's dope, you know, because some people
they could be saying washed up, they could be saying
they could be saying, oh you feel me outdated whatever,
you know what I'm saying, but irrelevant irrelevant.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
Exactly who is this? You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 12 (36:45):
But you know, for me, it's it's dope because you know,
coming from the labels, I got to learn a lot.
I got to see how the business goes. I got
to see how they work, the good and the bad
and the ugly. You know, a lot of people don't
leave that situation and get the opportunity to rebuild themselves,
you know what I mean, and come back better. You know,
when I'm at Sonny b in twenty twenty, you know,
(37:09):
it was me coming off of the COVID thing, you
know what I'm saying, really taking a step back before that,
trying to figure out who I wanted to be as
an artist independently, how to go about that, the struggles.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
Of learning that, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 12 (37:24):
But it was like taking that step back and saying,
all right, hold on, I'm I need to completely recalibrate,
completely revamp. You know what I'm saying, what it is
I'm looking to do. And we had that conversation like
it's it can't be about Adrian Marcel trying to come back.
It had to be more about like putting the bay on.
(37:45):
It had to be about what was the foundation why
you feel me? And that's where the R and BA
came into play. You know, It's like, we have to
we want to create something for the soil, you know
what I mean. So if it was just about Adrian
Marcel coming back, then we'd be focused on just making
one record trying to blow it up, you know what
I'm saying. For us, it became about, no, we need
(38:06):
a new catalog. We need to create a new universe.
That is Adrian Marshall, that is R and BA, that
is the Bay Area sound you feel me.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
So it's dope that I had that ability.
Speaker 12 (38:20):
I had the people that would that that were placed
in front of me to help me build that.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
My team is incredible.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
Every win, with every win, that's always my man, you
see something happened.
Speaker 12 (38:37):
Hey, But you learn in this business, in the industry,
you get taught to like not celebrate small wins because
you know what I'm saying. It's like, at least for me,
little things was like, man, we ain't dit none of yet. No,
you can't celebrate that.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
That's nothing. You feel me.
Speaker 12 (38:51):
But it's like, nah, it's something a lot of people
don't get to accomplish.
Speaker 4 (38:55):
In this business. You know, it takes a lot to
see through the concrete, you know what I mean.
Speaker 12 (38:59):
So for us to be able to have little wins,
oh Billboard talking about me again, you know what I'm saying,
Or you know, we on the way up, you know
what I'm saying, like we we Angela Yeez is just
chopping it up with it.
Speaker 14 (39:11):
Man.
Speaker 12 (39:12):
That's big wins for somebody who is independent, who's already
had a shot and is able to come back and say, Okay,
I can look brand new.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
Though.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Yeah no, I mean because honestly, like you've always had
solid projects. It to sound that I like, and initially
you had to stamp from Raphaelsa D two. I always
have been a big fan of you know as well.
So but that's a lot because I think early on too,
you really burst it out.
Speaker 7 (39:36):
Man.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Man, sometimes that's hard.
Speaker 12 (39:38):
That's scary, that's scary. You have to really keep that up,
you know what I mean. Like people don't realize like
I've always I've always respected artists.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Like when you think about Mary J.
Speaker 12 (39:47):
Blige, like somebody like her, she didn't just come out
the gate and just kill you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
It's like every project, Every album got better and.
Speaker 12 (39:55):
Better and better, and you got to and you got
to grow with her. You know what I'm saying to
where she's this legend. You know what I'm saying, even
to Tony Tony Tony is the same thing.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
You know what I'm saying. Every time they dropped, it
got better and better.
Speaker 12 (40:07):
And so for me, it's like to come out, you
have these big stamps, you're on one of the biggest
labels that that it is to be on, and you
know it, it just pops.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 12 (40:20):
It's like it's just going you feel me, And again
that could really help an artist mental, you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (40:26):
To go from that to now people at answering the
phone now they're not with you like that, you know
what I'm saying.
