(03:06):
But who do you, guys want to spress some love
to Kashabi? Who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 8 (03:10):
All right, so I'm going to shine a light on
my nonprofit, the Studo House Something out of the ordinary.
This is a nonprofit for young ladies ages eleven to
eighteen where we meet at least three times a week.
We do after school tutoring, helping each other with homework.
We try to do an outing at least once a week,

(03:31):
you know, go skating, ice cream, social bowling, anything to
keep us active and kind of build a sisterhood between these.

Speaker 9 (03:38):
Young ladies where are you located again in Jacksonville, Florida's amazing.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Shout out to you.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
That's the type of services that we need. I wish
I did that growing up.

Speaker 10 (03:50):
I know me too.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
I feel like I would have been a lot further along.

Speaker 8 (03:53):
That's the point. Yeah, we want to prepare them to
go off to college, help them build their credit at
a young age. You know, things that are really important
to becoming a woman. You know at today's society.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
My credit was terrible for so long. Same all right, well,
thank you Kashaba. We appreciate the work that you're doing.

Speaker 8 (04:10):
Yes, thank you so much, and thank you for the
opportunity to speak. You'll have a good one, you too.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
All right, Well that was shina like, thank you for
calling up and shining a light eight hundred nine fifty
one fifty if you couldn't get through. And when we
come back, we have your yu t and Ari Lennox
is just like me, trying to pay off her IRS debt.
We'll talk about what she'll do to get that money paid.
It's way up, n so about.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Last night, Yes, I went down nice last night. It's
way up at Angela Yee, I'm here.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Jasmine brand is here on my own brand, Mayo's here,
may Maya.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
What you do?

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Last night? I was outside, Yeah, that's the problem.

Speaker 11 (04:51):
Is that mean?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
It was shout out to my god uh one. I
went to his uh SESSI in the city, his movie
and dinner.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Oh, he had a.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Horror movie screening last night.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Okay, I pulled up.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I wanted to go, but I had to go to Philly.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah, Jasmine, you were riding the train alone in the city.

Speaker 9 (05:08):
Yes, I I officially know how to ride the subway
by myself without Angela.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Yeah, so I rode.

Speaker 9 (05:12):
I rode the train by myself, and I got my
hair braided. Last night, all right, I rode to Brooklyn
from Manhattan and Brooklyn, and then this morning I went
from Brooklyn Manhattan.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Yeah, so I know how I know how to ride
one train.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yeah, I had to. She wrote it in her phone.
I was like, do this.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Well.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I was doing a lot of things also solo. Yesterday.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
I went to Philly yesterday, So shout out to everybody
that I went to go see there. Shout out to
my guy Rob Murray Wells Fargo Center. I went over
there for a meeting. Yes, and I had to take
the train, so my car is in the shop. One
of my tires popped and so I had to wait
for them to order the tires. I think they came
in yesterday evening, so hopefully my car is ready today.

(05:51):
But I've been taking the train everywhere as well. So
I took the train to Philly.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
How was the anfractice?

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I took the Asella and last time I went to DC,
I didn't take that and the was way more comfortable,
way nicer. Yes, So I did that and everybody was,
you know, it was cool, it was no problems.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
I was on there fixing up my bio.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Doing all kinds of fighting the train.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Okay, I did that taking a train, of filling the train,
the Brooklyn's different train.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Yeah, Angela went on amtrack and I took the subway.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
So you know what's different is that Jasmines used to
take in the Amtrak and I'm used to taking the subway,
and so we had to reverse yesterday.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
I was like, I wish I walked her to inside
the track.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
I was like, where am I going? I don't know
where I was going. She's like where do I look?
But fortunately while I was there, someone who works at
the Amtrak recognized me, and so he told me what
tracked because they don't post which track the train is
coming on until right before he gets there.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
So he was like, hold on, let me look it up.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
He told you ahead of time.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
He told me ahead of time. So we walked down.
He's like, what car are you going to?

Speaker 3 (06:46):
He made he walked you too.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Oh nice.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
And then he showed me his daughter's YouTube because she's
a singer. She's sixteen years old. Oh cute, and her
name is Jelisa. So shout out to Jelisa. And yes,
we talked.

Speaker 9 (06:59):
Called the Uber to Amtrak and the Uber driver was like,
is are you Angela?

Speaker 12 (07:03):
Ye?

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Yeah, shout out to you, Marlin. He's from Jamaica, the
Uber jazz so sweet. Yeah, he was really really nice.
He's here from Jamaica.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, he was, definitely, he was from Jamaica. Before he
told us, I was like, oh, where are you from?
He was like, Jamaica. But anyway, speaking of riding around solo,
Jasmine is planning a birthday solo trip. Yes, because her
birthdays in December. A lot of times yeah that too,
and a lot of times idea people can't take off

(07:30):
at that time because it's right before the holidays. So
she's wondering, has anybody else ever taken a solo trip?
I haven't, okay, and where should she go? May now,
have you ever taken a solo trip?

Speaker 6 (07:39):
No?

Speaker 13 (07:40):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Why?

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Here's here's the thing though, Like you're taking a solo
trip because you don't have nobody to go with.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Well, I just want to. I want to join my birthday.
It's a weird.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
Time, but you don't have anybody to go.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Some people like solo tips. I want to try it.
Pray love.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah, all right, Well eight hundred ninety two fifty one fifty.
We need some recommendations. Have you taken a solo trip?
It's also different for women? I think it is. And
where would you recommend that Jasmine go for this solo
birthday trip? Eight hundred two nine fifty fifty.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
It's way up.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
It's way up with Angela. Let's go. You are a
media maven, right.

Speaker 11 (08:13):
You never know what AND's gonna say.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Man, listen, it's way up with Angela. Yeah, I'm here.
Mano's here. No man for now. He said you gotta go.
Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I'm not on my own brand.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
And we're talking about solo trips? Should Jasmine go? Well,
where should you go for a solo trip? You're planning
to do this for your birthday in December? Now, made
know you lied earlier.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
It wasn't a lie because it was like I went
to dr to meet some developers, but then I might
have had some company.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Yeah, that's not a solo trip.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
So is that?

Speaker 3 (08:49):
So I went there?

Speaker 8 (08:50):
Hell?

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Okay, you left solo and you came back alone, but
you met up with people there?

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah, some people?

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Who are these people?

Speaker 3 (08:57):
What development happened? Okay? Still developing?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Okay, all right, No, that's right, and Jasmine, you've never
done a solo trip. Neither have I. I'll fly someplace
by myself again, and like, but you're different.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
People would definitely recognize you.

Speaker 9 (09:12):
Come up to where you go, you recognize you or not,
they'll come up and talk.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
And Angela will not.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
You know, she's very nice, so she will talk to
everybody like pleasant.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yes, So I'm thinking about places I've been where you
could go by yourself. And we went to Canawan before, yeah.

Speaker 8 (09:33):
I.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Think also we went to Saint Thomas. You could definitely
do Sat Thomas by yourself and have a good time.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Okay, and sat cry for sure.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Okay, maybe I should go somewhere I haven't been before.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Okay, Russia.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
You've never been to Russia?

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Right, okay, all right?

Speaker 2 (09:48):
But you could go to the Saint Thomas in the
one of the islands that I have there in the
US Virgin Islands, Saint John. We went there only for
a day trip. John, you could actually spend time there.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Ok all right? Well, what do you guys think? Where
should Jasmine go for a cell tip?

Speaker 7 (10:00):
Mellow?

Speaker 3 (10:00):
What do you think?

Speaker 10 (10:02):
Honestly, Jasmine, you should definitely get a cruise for your
solo trips.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
By myself. You think I'm gonna have fun on a cruise?

Speaker 1 (10:10):
You can meet a man?

Speaker 11 (10:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (10:11):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 3 (10:12):
You know how many things cruises do, don't they know?
People been with their family?

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Got to be cheating, did they do?

Speaker 10 (10:19):
But they have a single side of the cruise, and
that single side of the cruises nasty than black licorice,
like a freak off.

Speaker 13 (10:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
I don't want a freak off. I just want to
But what what where should I go on the cruise?
I didn't know that either.

Speaker 10 (10:31):
Honestly, The cruisers multiple destinations, like I take the Caribbean,
ones like you know what I mean. You go to
the Bahamas, Puerto Rico from me? Knowledge either go to Pakana?
Mad different stops you from me.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
And sat about you and your girlfriend broke up?

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Which one?

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Okay, all right, well thank you, thank you? Maybe cruise
a Kira?

Speaker 13 (10:51):
What are you doing good?

Speaker 3 (10:53):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (10:53):
We got Jasmine here going on a solo trip? Where
would you recommend she goes?

Speaker 8 (10:58):
So?

Speaker 13 (10:59):
I was definitely and kekos oh we went there.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
We got a lot of friends in Turk.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Okay, I could do that.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Have you been there?

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Have you been there solo?

Speaker 13 (11:07):
I did?

Speaker 11 (11:08):
I actually went for my fortieth birthday because all of
my friends were not able to make it, so I
wasn't gonna not go and I had a fantastic time.
But I go often, so I can'tuitely recommend me.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Okay, we love Turks, and you can also go to
Grand Turks instead of staying. Okay, right where you get
off the flight and that'd be more quiet and it's
a little different, okay, you know type of feeling.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
All right, that's a good idea.

Speaker 13 (11:30):
You all right, I have fun and joy?

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Hey, don Hie, where do you think Jasmine should go on?
Her solo trip.

Speaker 13 (11:38):
I think Jasmin should go to Bali.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
We just talked about that far.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
But you know, I think that's more like a family
boot up trip, and it's far.

Speaker 13 (11:47):
There is far. It was a long athlete the longest
flight I ever been on. But I had fun. I've
got no kids, so I wasn't thinking about, you know,
a family tip. It was my birthday and I just
remember one of them girlies in a boop chat and
I was like, nah, I'm going.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
You went by the sun.

Speaker 13 (12:02):
I went by myself.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
So what did you do out there?

Speaker 6 (12:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (12:06):
Oh my god.

Speaker 13 (12:07):
I got the little doggy swing thing. I wrote an elephant,
I played with the monk.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Have fun.

Speaker 9 (12:13):
Okayla Man, and you weren't You weren't afraid since you
were by yourself so far.

Speaker 13 (12:19):
I was a little afraid at first.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
Okay, then I'm.

Speaker 13 (12:22):
Afraid of things I'm making up in my head.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
Okay.

Speaker 13 (12:24):
I just relaxed and just been in a moment. I
was like, this is amazing.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Okay, did you meet anybody out there to hang out with?

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Shut up?

Speaker 13 (12:34):
I'm met other single women that were traveling to.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Okay, Okay, that's you. Nice crew.

Speaker 14 (12:41):
Yes, ride okay, not Klyn, all right, relax, thank you?

Speaker 6 (12:54):
All right.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Well that was some good suggestions. And it's like you're
gonna go someplace warm. Yeah, I can't wait to see
what when you choose. But when we come back, we
have your EUT. And let's talk about Cardi B.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
See even Cardi B does stuff all by herself, no security.
We'll talk about it. It's way up with Angela Yee.
Come and get the tea, all right, it's way up
by Angela Yee. Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
I'm not just needy brand. I'm my own brand.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Yes, all right, let's get into this eut. Cardi B
was walking around in New York City with no security.
She's also pregnant. But there's video footage of her on TikTok.
She's outside of Starbucks. She's standing alone, talking on the phone.
She's drinking her whatever she had because I know you
can't really drink coffee. Yeah, you're not supposed to, and
I'm sure she knows that. And she said it was

(13:37):
like nine of them and I was hungry. Also, nobody
finna touch me. And she said, that's not even Starbucks.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
You de eat her. She likes to eat too, so well.
She is pregnant with her third kid too, But we
all like, yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
I love to eat.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
You relates to her.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
I relate. So she probably sees from New York.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Sometimes you know you're from there, you feel more comfortable.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
It looks like she also was at the label because
she posted herself for records as well. And you know,
she said, CARDI get twenty four to seven security. You
just never know. People are crazy. Unfortunately, we can't trust
this world.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
I think she does have twenty four I mean security
with her all the time.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Well she didn't when she was outside really walking around.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
That's the whole point. She was walking around without security.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
I thought maybe there was one like in the cut,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
No, she said she just wanted to run out and
get something to eat. And you know, I'm sure she
wanted to do that. She said she likes her privacy.
Her driver is never far and she said they're only
going to steal my wig because I don't carry cash or.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Walk around with jewelry, not the wig.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Yeah, I mean it's tough as a celebrity. I'm sure
she's like, I just want to be able to go
outside get a bacon egg and cheese and keep it pushing,
and keep it pushing. Yeah, does she have to have
security all the time?

Speaker 8 (14:44):
Right?

Speaker 4 (14:44):
And also I kind of feel like New York kind
of leaves you alone.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
There's a lot of yeah, because New York celebrities are
always around. Yeah, kind of just walking around. You don't
know who you're going to run into in the street.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yep. All right.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Now, Steve Harvey has a biopic in the works, seventy two. Okay,
So it's an off biopic, by the way, not unauthorized,
so that means that he's included in those decisions. It's
centering on a transformative seventy two hour period ahead of
a career defining performance for him at the Apollo Theater
back in nineteen ninety three, and it will provide audiences
an intimate look at the perseverance and challenges that divines

(15:17):
Steve Harvey's career.

Speaker 9 (15:18):
Okay, who's going to play Steve A young Steve Harvey.
I don't know, somebody we don't know already.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
He said he was reluctant to make a movie about
his life for years until he read the pitch for
seventy two. It focuses on one of the most difficult
moments in my journey and career and shows the world
that hope has never truly lost.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
Wait until you'll see what we do with this.

Speaker 9 (15:36):
Can I just like really quick that I like unauthorized,
because you know sometimes when they're authorized, all.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
You get is the good will make themselves look good.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yeah, but you know what, this is only a seventy
two hour period, Okay, So I think it's something that
was transformative for him.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
He was having a lot of self doubt, a lot
of personal struggles as he was getting ready for this performance.
So it's not like a full life story, So I
think that's a little different. Yeah, in that way, But
I also feel like it is good. Like Teddy Penogras,
if you watch that documentary they did about him later on,
a lot of that was his own recorded words, and
so that makes it easier when there's certain things that

(16:12):
are from you, but then also taken from people around you.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Yeah, because people never see themselves the way that other
people see them.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
I agree, all right.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
A judge has postponed the auction of Damon Dash's Rockefeller's Steak,
and it looks like when they do auction it off,
it's going to be even more money. So they're going
to figure out who gets paid first from the proceeds
because he does owe a lot of money to different people.
So the auction they're going to sell off his thirty
three point three percent interest in Rockefeller. It was supposed

(16:41):
to be today, but now they're saying it's going to
be September twenty first.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
So now the minimum bid is.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Going to go from one point two million to three
million dollars, and New York City gets first DIBs on
the money, and then child support and then his tax
bill and then legal damages owed.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
And that's a lot.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
I know his tax bill is about seven million dollars.
Jesus Christ.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Okay, all right, well that is your yut. When we
come back, we have your under the radar stories. These
are stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. They
are flying under the radar. And be careful using those
QR codes, all right, if you're parking places at parking meters.
They could be a scam or they could be used
to scam. You will tell you about it. It's way
up at Angela.

Speaker 7 (17:23):
Ye, it's in the news that relates to you. These
stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
All right, it's way up at Angela Yee, I'm here
and Jasmine Brand is here as well. Yes, and right
now we are watching some breaking news and under the
radar at Chattanooga State, their main campus is on lockdown.
They're saying to avoid the area until further notice. If
you're on campus, they endorse shelter in place and lock
your door. As the situation continues to unfold, Please remain

(17:50):
in your lockdown status until further notice.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
Wow, it's scary now I'm.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Watching the live press conferences because this is happening literally
right now, and what they're talking about is a credible threat,
but they haven't found anything yet and they're sweeping every
single room on campus, so they're saying around the campus
also they don't see any threat to those areas, but
they're warning people to not come to campus and to

(18:15):
please remain in lockdown status until further notice. Here's some
of what's happening with live team coverage.

Speaker 12 (18:21):
As far as the China State, it continues to be
on lockdown and will remain on lockdown until they have
confirmed that everything has been cleared by every single building
of every single room.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
That's so scary.

Speaker 9 (18:34):
Yeah, I was just thinking when I was in college,
I didn't have to worry about this as much like
this has become a more of a regular occurrence.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Yeah, and I haven't really seen this, but it's Chattanooga
State Community College on lockdown. Police are still investigating, so
if you know anybody that's there, just check on them.
People are logging into these please scanners to see what's
going on, So we'll keep you guys updated as we
get more information as well. All right, now, another thing

(19:02):
we want to warn you about QR codes right. Scammers
are now using them to get into your wallets.

Speaker 6 (19:09):
Now.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
One person was in San Clemente.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
He said he saw signed with the QR code and
a website to pay for parking, so they punched in
the URL. The first five on the Google search were fakes.
He said, it was a scam. It has the logo
it's his passport parking. So he was trying to park
his car and a few minutes later he knew something
was wrong. You put in his credit card number and
about two minutes later they called and said, we have
unauthorized charges here. Wow, and this has been happening all

(19:32):
over there's fake QR codes that are stuck to parking
meters and they were glued to the legitimate park mobile
and pay by Phone labels. So the fake code sends
you to a website called POI by Phone instead of
pay by Phone.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
So it's one letter off. Yeah, so you can be full.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
So I just want to warn people to be careful, right,
make sure you check and double check and triple check
with these QR code scams that are happening there.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Getting creative with it, all right, Well that is you're
under the rate now you know. We have the way
Up mixed at the top of the hour. Plus.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Jaslyn Martin, she plays Jackie on bel Air, is going
to be joining us. She has a new project, Identity Crisis,
coming out tomorrow, her first ever EP.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
It's way up at Angela Yee. She's like the like
they Angela Jee, like they Angela Gee.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
She's spilling it all.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
This is yet way off, all right, It's way up
at Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
I'm not just Nini Brand, I'm my own brand.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
And let's get into some yet all right, Cardi B
congratulations to her.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
She posted a little while ago.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
I told yaw that I made a major deal with
Whipshots and I'm so happy to see were making our
way in Cosco for the first time.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
This one is in Louisiana. More to come.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
The whip shots are like alcohol infuse whipped cream that
you can put in coffee. Yeah, we've had it in
here Andela, yes, but like with coffee, have list people
and she has all different flavors.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
So congratulations, that's a major move.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
I'm sure that's a nice bag.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
All right.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Now, Rihanna is now going to be the face of
Door's or Fragrance, which is an iconic thing and at
the time when she first announced it, she said, the
scent that I have known in love for so long
means so much to women, and she said, I'm especially
looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it
through my world, my story, my roots, as well as
my creativity and my own femininity. Well, September first, that

(21:19):
all starts, okay, so congratulations to her. There's a movie
I guess coming out September first with Rihanna for Jador.
So we don't know to the extent what hot long
this movie is or what it is, but there is
a trailer up that she posted on her page September
one is also Angela yi De just putting that out there.
Yes it is all right and asap. Rocky has some

(21:41):
new music that he's putting out tonight, a song called
Taylas Swift and it says one surprise after another. So
why wouldn't the two of them have something happening? A
nice booked and busy couple all right. Now, Glorilla is
upset about people complaining about her label. Well, she's saying
the label's not telling her to be more risque because

(22:02):
some people think, you know, she was having she didn't
have her shirt on while she was rapping. People were like, oh,
whoever told her to do that needs to be fired?
Close to love you, I know it's not you, it's them.
So here's what she had to say down here.

Speaker 14 (22:16):
So much to say because I would dance to my
froom hold and I don't worry about what me and my.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Tell us some mother.

Speaker 11 (22:23):
Oh the label is making real.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
I bought him right.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
She want to do what she wants to do. People
always think the label's telling you to do things like that.

Speaker 9 (22:35):
And maybe because back in the day, because I think
even like with Scarlet when she did her last video,
people were like, oh, the label, they're doing it.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
The label, the label.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
But sometimes women do want to feel powerful and sexy,
and that's what she wanted to do, all right now, Drake,
he's of course trending, as he always is. He was
making fun of Joe Button by blaming him for his
poudy face. You know how you do those duck lip
pictures and things like that. So he posted I'm not

(23:04):
aware of my picture or mirror face. It's a curse
from birth and I'm influenced by what I see. And
then he posted Joe Button, but he also posted Duke Dennis,
who I guess he's saying that they.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Do selfies like those titles.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Yes, those types of photos as well, and so.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
Oh, Drake's is more distinctive than those two examples he
gave us. Yeah, and which is fine.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
You know, guys do do that, clearly, they take a
lot of selfies.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
I don't like it. I'm talking about Drake. I just
don't like well, guys take a lot of selfies.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Now, Drake.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
When Duke Dennis had had posted a crying LMAO crying
face emoji on that picture that Drake posted he replied,
I accept my contributions to the Mirror Face members.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
We are akin to one another.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
That's funny.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
I wonder I feel like Drake and Joe Button have
like a respect for each other even though they kind of.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
Going like love and hate like a bromance right up
to downs.

Speaker 2 (24:00):

Speaker 4 (28:38):

Speaker 3 (28:39):
That's right.

Speaker 10 (28:39):
See, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 15 (29:25):

Speaker 10 (29:26):

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Did you catch your girl cheating or what happened?

Speaker 10 (29:31):
Now, I ain't catch my girl cheat exactly, A lot
of people talking.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
About it, and you'll never catch and tell her she
ever needs somebody as an excuse, got alibi?

Speaker 3 (29:41):
We got her.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Yeah, have you ever gotten caught cheating?

Speaker 1 (29:47):

Speaker 15 (29:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 13 (29:49):
I don't think you don't know.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
You don't think so if you would know, if you
got caught, you're.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
A bad liar.

Speaker 14 (29:54):
Start on everything that lad been caught cheating.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Okay, all right, sir see I can't even engage with this.
We'll see you what you did.

Speaker 4 (30:04):

Speaker 3 (30:10):

All right?

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Well that was ask ye eight hundred two nine fifty
just in case you couldn't get through. And when we
come back, we have a really special guest joining us.
Jaslyn Martin is.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
In the building. She's the star of bel Air as Jackie.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
She's dating Will, but well maybe not anymore, you know,
because Will is also dating Lisa. If you watch the show,
you know you know who she is. But she also
has an EP that is dropping tomorrow. It's way up
at Angela.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
Yee beg.

Speaker 8 (30:38):
We about to do this one of Lingo's famous women.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
In Radio Vidio, we're talking about Angela Ye. You're way
up with Angela Yee. Please believe that.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
What's up his way up with Angela Yee. And as
promised when I saw Jaslin Martin in La, we have
you here on Way Up with Angela Yee, A real
official sit down.

Speaker 6 (30:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
And I had a chance to start watching bel Air
season three, which is great thing.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Well, first of all, I'm glad you're there because I
remember when the last season ended, they weren't sure.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
They were like, it is Jackie's character coming back? How
was it getting casted for the show?

Speaker 6 (31:09):
Oh my gosh, I want to tell you the whole story.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
I do, y, that's exactly what this is interesting.

Speaker 6 (31:15):
I remember it was on Wilship Boulevard. I was parking,
looking for parking because it's Beverly Hills and I don't
want to get a ticket. And I walked in and
there's another girl in the room. Actually no, I was
by myself, and I heard another girl on zoom and
I heard them giving her notes and I was like, okay,
do that, Okay, gotcha, And then some more girls came
in and this was for the callback too. So I

(31:37):
did a self tape and then they wanted me to
do it in person, and then I met Jabari and
we started going and I started improvising because I was like,
screw it.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
And they're like, oh, for it.

Speaker 6 (31:48):
Oh she a little spicy, and I was like yeah,
and there last to me where I was from. And
I felt really good at it, like I felt at peace.
I was like, even if I don't get it, I
felt like I went in there and did my best
and that's all I can do. And so I was
waiting a couple of days and my agent was like,
we should be hearing back today and I was like, okay,

(32:09):
I'm just gonna take myself on a walk, could get
some distract myself myself. And he calls me and he's
like hey, Jazz. I'm like hi. It's like so they
made a decision and you're Jackie wow, And I was like,
are you playing with me? I can't breathe and I
did a little.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
Up the little tier that's exciting, and.

Speaker 6 (32:30):
He's like, yeah, this is this is going to change
your life for sure.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
So man, I can't even imagine having to go on
auditions and do like how many auditions would you say
you've been.

Speaker 6 (32:39):
On probably in the three hundreds.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, right now I'm talking to Jazz and Martin you
know her as Jackie on bel Air. But he also
has a project Identity Crisis coming out tomorrow because she's
a musician. And it's interesting because your EP that is
coming out it's called the Identity Crisis.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
Yes, now, discuss that title with me.

Speaker 6 (32:57):
I wanted to speak on my behalf on the different
conflicts I have in my head. Do I follow the
world or do I follow God? Do I be a
bad you know how society is promoting that, or do
I just be me and be comfortable and love who
I am? So just different things that you know, I
think I've battled and a lot of people don't really
showcase what it is to go through the identity crisis.

(33:18):
And I think everyone has gone through it and continues
to go through it, no matter age or ethnicity or gender.
You know, we're always trying to figure out who we are.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
That's interesting that you say that, because you can't be
a bad two follows God?

Speaker 6 (33:31):
Yeah, exactly. And it's like the world, it's like you
gotta choose, you gotta choose one, and it's like what
if I want to be all of them?

Speaker 2 (33:38):
So, and your first song that you did was perfect, right,
it's called perfect now that song that lyrics are beautiful,
thank you, And it's also something that a lot of us,
I think, deal with just being open and vulnerable about
the lyrics to that song because you talk about, you know,
sometimes you're scared because we're not perfect at all, and
there's a lot of flaws that we have, And so

(34:01):
talk to me about what was going through your head
while you were writing this. She said your pedestal was
crumbling beneath your feets.

Speaker 6 (34:07):
Yeah, as a society, we have a really hard time
giving people grace. Women are expected to be perfect, and
when we're not, it's like, damn, do we deserve to
be loved?

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Then?

Speaker 6 (34:17):
Are we still gonna be wanted if you do see
my secrets and my flaws. So I just kind of
wanted to be vulnerable, which is something I'm not very
great at, for my first song, and kind of expose that,
like I may look like I got it all together,
but like I'm still human, So don't rob that from
me by labeling me as perfect.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Jaslin Martin is here aka Jackie from Bellaire. We have
more with her when we come back. It's way yup
with Angela yee.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
Yeah, it's gonna turn me up.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
Here we go up again.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
This is way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
What's up this way yup with Angela yee.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
I'm here and my girl Jazlyn Martin, she plays Jackie
on bell Aire, is here with me. And so the
project is out on August thirtieth, right, that's to the
release date and how many songs are on the EP
because I know Truth is out right well about to
come out.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
I don't think it's out.

Speaker 6 (35:03):
Yet, No, not yet. It's gonna drop on the thirtieth,
and there's seven songs. The last song is like a
bluesy gospelish Wow. It's very big. That's how I explain it.
It's very big and raw and vulnerable.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
What's it about? Can we get a little?

Speaker 6 (35:18):
It's called Lead Me to Love. It's kind of deals
with self hate. And I wrote it when I felt
like I wasn't myself, when I was just like ashamed
of myself. And it's basically like lead me back to
God because God is love, so lead me back to myself.
And yeah, it's just feeling broken and sad and just yeah,
like I don't I don't like me right now?

Speaker 2 (35:39):
What was it about yourself that you didn't like? Like
what was happening?

Speaker 6 (35:43):
I think like a lot of personal things, how I
handled certain situations I wasn't proud of, and a lot
with you know, family and friends, and it was a
big change in my life. I think this was during
like this show. So it's like so many new transitions
in my life that I was like, ooh, this is
a lot. I don't know how to navigate through this.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
Right now, I'm taking to Dazzling Martin, you know her
as Jackie on bel Air, but he also has a
project identity crisis coming out tomorrow because she's a musician.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
But you said you didn't like how you handle it.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Accountability is important too, sure, you know, instead of saying, oh,
you know, forget them, you didn't like certain ways that.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
You were acting.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Yeah, which is different because a lot of people would
be like, man, forget them, Like.

Speaker 6 (36:23):
No, yeah, I'm not like that. I'm very I'm very
hard of myself and I like to think I moved
through the world with light and love, and so when
I don't reflect that, I'm like, damn I'm a bad person.
And that's where, you know what the identity crisis comes through,
because you know, we all do things we're not proud
of and that's just human.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
And how did you handle that?

Speaker 6 (36:41):
I went to therapy? Okay, I started therapy.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
Okay, there, yes I did.

Speaker 6 (36:46):
And yeah, I just got a stronger foundation with God
and just poured into myself. I started doing like salsa
classes and doing hikes and swimming and just doing you
know things that you know, self care things. Yeah, things
I used to love to do as a kid. And
I was like, I want to nurture that little girl.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
And did you address situations that you felt like you
weren't proud of?

Speaker 3 (37:07):
How you handled did you? Okay?

Speaker 6 (37:09):
I always yes. I love those type of conversations. Allows
me to grow, allows me to learn, and I'm a
pretty confrontational person, so I appreciate those conversations in a
safe space.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
Well, Linda, and what are the goals for you now?
Because you've been knocking them down.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
You know, you've been doing your dancing, you've been doing
your choreography, you've been acting, you're singing, you're writing.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
What is the ultimate for you?

Speaker 6 (37:33):
Ooh? I always like the quote if you want to
make God laugh, tell me your plans, right. So, I mean,
I definitely have dreams, but you know, I think wherever
the wind carries me, whatever makes me happy in the moment,
music's really doing that for me right now. So I'm
really giving my all music, whether that be tours or
shows and or be a movie I would love to do,

(37:55):
like a musical movie.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Now that's perfect. See now there you go. That would
make mix everything in together. I think you'll be amazing at.

Speaker 6 (38:02):
That musical movie.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Maybe one of those live you know how they do
the live action. What I can see you doing that. Yeah, okay,
well let's put it in the atmosphere. And again, thank
you so much for coming through. I know we ran
into each other and we you know, didn't have much
time and everybody was being pulled in different directions. But
I appreciate you keeping your word and coming up here
for to sit down.

Speaker 6 (38:22):
Of course, thank you for having me.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Congratulations to you on everything. You've really been killing it.

Speaker 6 (38:27):
