Jack Daniels did.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
They did treat him and his family well and give
him credit and all of that. But I will talked
about that in the interview. Some people wouldn't. They'll just
be like, this is my thing, you know, and you
won't get no credit. But anyway, let's shine a light.

have two black women serving as senators. This has never
happened before, two black women at the same time. Lisa

women who have served in the US Senate, but there
has never been more than one black woman in the

Senate at a time, So Shayna light on them.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
That's something historic that has happened at least.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
And listen, as we are talking today, the day after
the elections where the results are in, I just want
to make sure that we know that we still have
a lot of work to do. So this doesn't mean
that for anybody who might feel defeated right now, sad, depressed,
anxious or whatever.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
You know, this is just a sign a keep pushing.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
We got a lot of work to do, and there's
going to be a lot of things that we have
to pay attention to and stay aware about. But we
do got to celebrate that win.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
All right.

two fifty one fifty just in case you couldn't get through.
And when we come back, we have your y eat
and let's talk about Donald Trump being elected as president

(04:10):
and how people have reacted online.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Will give you those details. It's way up, they say
in the.

Speaker 8 (04:16):
Rooms, from industry shade to all of gossip out. Angela's
spilling that eat.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
All right, it's way up with Angela.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yee, I'm here, my guy Mana was here, and we
are happy because we had some jasmine food, especially in
the delivery.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
Yeah, you got shaved up because you came in looking
a little down. But since I yeah, I stand food
came in. Shout out to my guy, eldest wealth in
the building.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Okay, all right, well let's talk about why I was
a little down coming in here today. Donald Trump had
defeated Kamala Harris and a lot of people have weighed
in on how they feel about this. He did give
his victory speech at his headquarters in Florida, and he
also said this is a magnificent victory for the American people.
He said, this will be the golden age of America.

(05:00):
Fifty cent posted a picture of trumpets and I don't
care how the fight goes. I'm leaving with the winner.
I still don't know what's going on. Congratulations. Cardi B
posted I hate y'all bad, And here's what she said.

Speaker 12 (05:12):
No matter what, I know that she's probably emotional right now.
I just hope that she knows that, no matter what
happened tonight, that millions of people are proud of her.
I'm proud of her. Women around the world are proud
of her, women of color are proud of her.

Speaker 11 (05:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
And to be clear, like she didn't have as much time,
right she only had like one hundred and seven days.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Yeah, because Sleepy Joe was on the trail first to.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Run for office and to get her campaign going the
way that she could have. Chuck d posted don't let
a wing go to your head or a loss get
to your heart. At l he got game F and
again the NYC Hustler gained them again. Well it's time
for myself to work head forward as a second class citizen.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Good luck.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I'll be watching it all with a pen and a
pad usa. One thing we do know is that it
won't be a goon gathering this coming January. It will
be a concession without the BS.

Speaker 9 (06:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
So a lot of people had things to say and
to weigh in on after this. But I will say
that some people were complaining about issues. Trying to go
and vote DC Young Fly said he wasn't able to vote.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
I've been trying to vote since eight o'clock the morning.

Speaker 13 (06:24):
The Registration and Election board denied my right to vote
because I got a PO box on my license and
I've voted up under that address for the last two turns.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
All right now, Other people waited in Oscar winner Adam McKay,
who directed Vice. He left a post saying who would
have guessed lying about Biden's cognitive health for two years,
refusing to do an open convention for a new nominee,
never mentioning public health care, and embracing fracking the Chinese
and a year long slaughter of children and Gaza wouldn't
be a winning strategy. So people did criticize the strategy

(07:03):
and everything that happened. But again, and like I said before,
and I'll keep on saying this, this is not a
time to feel like you're defeated and you just lay
dormant and get low. It's time to make sure that
you're paying attention to what's going on because this is
going to have consequences when it comes to Supreme Court.
It's a lot of consequences in other ways as well

(07:23):
that will outlast cycle. Yes, yeah, absolutely everything. So laws
are about to change, things will be restricted, so get
ready for that, but get ready to fight, all right,
And when I mean fight, I mean fight policy wise
and making sure you know, for me, when I went
and voted in local elections, I'm glad that I feel

(07:43):
like I have certain protections still locally.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Right, right, that's very important? All right?

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Well about last night, I mean, how could we not
do that now we.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Did last night?

Speaker 12 (07:53):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
I worked hard last night, you did. I appreciate that,
all right. Eight hundred nine were also getting ready for
a secret, so get ready for that. All right, it's
way up.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
So about last night, I went down.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
It's way up with Angela. Ye, I'm here, Mayo's here.
What did you do last night?

Speaker 10 (08:18):
May No, I was.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
I actually got up and wanted to vote. Okay, you
know I'm registered in bed Star. Shout out to my city.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Which place did you have to vote at?

Speaker 6 (08:27):
Boys and girls? Okay, boys and Girls high. I pulled
up and I voted, and then I went home.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
I was that tired and fell asleep watching it the election, Yeah,
because you know, you got to stay. I didn't think
we were going to get the news last night, but
it just started to not look good. Right then I
woke up and hit you yeah, and you were like
you're seeing this, yeah, different results on different channels. Well,
yesterday I knew I was going to be on the
edge of my seat. I didn't have the best feeling

(08:56):
about this, and so I was like, I'm gonna just work.
So normally we do like two episodes of lip service
at a time. We did three yesterday, So just so
you know, we have Julian Horton coming up next week
on lip Service. He's on that show Beauty and Black,
the Netflix series. He plays Roy on there the husband.
Anybody who watched Beauty in Black, I know you're gonna

(09:19):
her character's name. She's the one that is what's her body?
She plays body. Yeah, okay, I didn't even see it,
but she saw you saw a tea. But she's the
one that be roughing up kim me, the main character. Yeah,
she's kind of like the the lead stripperper the Magic City.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Yes we know.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
And then we had Black China On aka Angela White.
It's her name in real life now, so you know,
you guys are gonna enjoy that though, because she is
engaged huh oh yeah with Derek Milano, her fiance.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
They came on together. It was very cute. She cried
a couple of and then after that we had Lark
Lore and Chloe Summer. They have their own vlog it's
called Girls.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Oh I saw that, so there you go.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
So yeah, so I was like, let me just work
because I want to just like stay busy.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
And then after that I was like checking on the
election while we were doing lip service in between, and
I was like, ooh, it's not looking good.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
So that was my night last night.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
And then I was like, I was up late, I
really couldn't sleep, and then I woke up this morning
and feeling like we're in a dream still. But I
also know that it just means we have a lot
of work to do as usual. But we have a
lot of work to do everybody. So the main thing is,
do not get discouraged. Do not feel like your vote
doesn't matter. Do not feel like you don't want to

(10:44):
be part of the process. I am happy about my
local elections. Hikim Jeffreys does a great job representing us.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
It's my guy right there. I voted for the HAKM.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yes me too.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
All right, well, you guys when we come back, tell
us a secret. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
Maybe you said you want to commonly be president, but
you really went in there and voted for Trump.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Whatever you see, tell us what it is.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Eight hundred two ninety two voted for fifty one fifty.
Tell us a secret again. That's eight hundred two ninety two,
fifty one fifty. Its way up up.

Speaker 7 (11:17):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Sh it's way up at Angela.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Yee, I'm here, my guy Mana is here real maya
money we are working today. Yeah, and we want to
hear your secret. This is a no judgment zone. You
could tell us anything. And you are anonymous, all right.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty anonymous carlor
tell us a secret.

Speaker 7 (11:39):
So I have a lot of opinion concert in this campaign,
but I didn't even.

Speaker 9 (11:44):
Get a chance to vote.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Oh shoot, what what state.

Speaker 11 (11:47):
Are you in?

Speaker 3 (11:49):
I am leaving currently in the state of Georgia. But
I did. We located here from Florida on Regensburg in Florida.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Oh so you didn't want to You didn't do your
mailing vote and then you didn't make it to Florida
actually vote in person.

Speaker 9 (12:01):
I didn't make it to my my poll where I
want to go in time.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
And I make it to your poem. Okay, let's say
that chance you the reason why she lost.

Speaker 7 (12:12):
I'm not you are the reason.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Yeah, you are the reason. It was your um she needed.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
She lost by one. Yeah, so you so you was
lying and telling people you voted.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
No, I didn't tell you the one I vote.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Okay, okay, but I did not for any opinions either.

Speaker 14 (12:36):
But now people will like kill you about following, so
I just kept it to my crill.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
Okay, Well you the reason why she ain't made it.

Speaker 14 (12:44):
No, you make me bad.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
You are one of the reasons. But thank you for calling.
Thank you all right, take care. Hey, Nunamus Color, how
are you.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
I'm good.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
You want to tell me a man of a secret today?
No judgment. Yeah, And by the.

Speaker 14 (13:01):
Way, I love you. I listened to you every day.
But at the end of the day I had already
made up in my mind that if Trump won the election,
I wasn't going to work today. And Trump won the election,
I ain't going to work today.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
I know that's right.

Speaker 10 (13:17):
Right.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
They're looking for you too. They're like where she aid,
I work.

Speaker 14 (13:21):
With a group full of men, and they chauvinistic woman
haters and one son and that's my secret.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Okay, Well, you work with a bunch of people that
represent some of these voters.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Well, don't even go back.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Ever, how about that she's gonna make her money.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
No, I'm going that now.

Speaker 14 (13:37):
I still gotta get my chid. Yeah, she goad I
just did not want to hear it. I didn't want
to hear it.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Yeah, I ain't gonna lie. I thought about not going
to work today. I did.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
I really did wake up, like I don't even feel like.
But then I was like, now I got it. It's
important for me to especially for what.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
We do, to be there.

Speaker 9 (13:54):
Yeah, for you, for sure me that could deal with.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Me not okay today. Well, thank you for calling. Enjoy
your day off, all right, thank you. I might have
to take a day off though.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
My president is orange, my made bag white.

Speaker 12 (14:15):
All right.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Well, when we come back, we have your yet, and
let's talk about Kodak Black. He was on Kai Sanat's
live stream and uh, he did throw a perk up
in the air and catch it in his mouth.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
We'll tell you what he has to say about that.
It's happen.

Speaker 7 (14:30):
She's about to the lid off this spot.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
Let's get it.

Speaker 7 (14:33):
Angela's feeling that ye come and get the tea.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
It's way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here, Hey ma, No, Hey,
how you feeling. I'm feeling okay?

Speaker 4 (14:41):
How about you?

Speaker 5 (14:42):
All right? Hey listen, we got an orange president.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Hey listen.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
All right, Well, let's get into some yet now Kodak
Black he was on Kai Sanat's live stream and definitely
threw a pill in the air, caught it in his mouth,
and then started acting very strangely.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
He even did this freestyle.

Speaker 9 (15:00):
For me.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
I said, no, no, no, I don't want it.

Speaker 7 (15:02):
I don't want to I don't want to send. I said, no, no, no,
I don't want it.

Speaker 5 (15:10):
I'm just waiting for the US.

Speaker 15 (15:11):
I'm just waiting Forlida. I didn't want to say.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
I don't want somebody's gonna make that into a real song.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
They won't take that and put a beat on it.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Well, Kodak is now defending what he did on that livestream.
Here's what he had to say.

Speaker 13 (15:24):
Y'all be on type, y'all be on shooms acid type
with stupid but one perf, and y'all be so you
don't want to like it anymore.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
He said, I just took this one perk. Y'all be
doing all this shrooms and everything else and acid. I
take one perk and y'all just up in arms over it.
But it just didn't go well after that. It would
be one thing.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
Yeah, he was.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
He was scratching himself. He did that freestyle. He was,
you know, he just didn't look good.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
So maybe you're saying, maybe do what you want to do,
but maybe when you're doing on camera, people are looking concerned.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah, maybe like if you recreationally want to smoke a
little or do you know, but that just looked like
a problem. And then if you're doing an appearance in
a live stream and then you don't know what's going on,
that's natural.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
He was out of it.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Yeah, he was definitely out of it all right. Now,
Little TJ has some issues with Adam Ross and Kai
sanat And. He basically posted a screenshot of Kodak Black
and Kai sanat And and had this message, I fake
hate this kid him and Aiding the biggest d riders
in life. Okay, and here's what else Little TJ had
to say.

Speaker 16 (16:30):
I told aid your culture voti. He told me, I'm
gonna perch. I don't take perks racist, I look like
I take perks because I'm black. Right, Just leave think
about he just ground his way to the top using
that little face call he got and used to stay
whar use everybody, they only put the top notch because
they're using culture votes to stop looking at yack like

(16:52):
he's a widow. No, sometimes that's how rappers act.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
All right.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Well, Kayson not responded because he's like, I don't know
why I'm getting these shots thrown at me, especially when
little TJ captioned him and wrote I think hate this
kid him and again him and Aidan I think him
said the biggest d writers in life.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
And here is what Kays and I had to say
in response.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
I have him say you only with the top people.

Speaker 17 (17:16):
I don't know if we're talking about Aiden, but I
generally be minding my business in some way, somehow I
get dragged somewhere every single time.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
TJ.

Speaker 17 (17:25):
Is unfortunate that you don't even like text me or
not feing like I don't even remember you having a
problem with me.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Well now you know, Now you know, all right, and
let's switch over to some good news vibes. Cartel has
proposed to his girlfriend. Now, he did get engaged in prison,
but he confirmed that they did it in real life together.
He said, we laughed together, we cried together, and now
we celebrate together.

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
You're my best friend and my companion, and I pray
to God we stay together for as long as I live.
I love you so They first linked up in twenty
fifteen and she tracked him down. She says that he
was a man of her dreams. He said, you were
there when I need you the most, and I'll never
leave you.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Baby.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
I cherished all the times you came to visit me
and told me that it's going to be okay. I
cherished all the times he spoke on the phone and
in real life in the box. We laughed together, we
cried together, and now we celebrates.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
So there you have it. Good news. All right, Well
that is your et. I know you're over here planning
at your wedding.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
Yeah, I am, just don't have a wife yet.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Is it going to be destination? Is it going to
be you're from in New Jersey?

Speaker 5 (18:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Probably doing it in a park. You went to a
wedding park, Yes, I did. It's beautiful. Outdoor weddings are
amazing when the weather's good. Anyway, when we come back,
we have under the radar. These are the stories that
are not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under the radar.
This one I've been following, and I know you want
to see some more information on this. But I was

(18:51):
going to do this yesterday, but election day was yesterday,
so I said, I'll hold off, but you know, we'll
do it today. In the meantime, here is missus officer.
Maybe y'all married police officer. Maybe it's way up news.

Speaker 8 (19:03):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Oh my goodness, it's way up with angelauyee, I'm here,
Mano's here right listen. So I was telling you about
this story that was going viral. But there's an official
in Equatorial Guinea. He is the director of the country's
National Financial Investigation Agency. His name is baltasar and Gonga.
He has been suspended and he is being investigated. They

(19:30):
were actually searching his computer in the course of a
probe into alleged corruption and embezzlement of public funds. They
found up to four hundred sex videos of him.

Speaker 5 (19:39):
Here was out there pounding on things.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
And multiple women.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Some of them were their wives and relatives of senior
government officials. I think they said one of them was
even his brother's wife. Now it looked like on a
lot of these that people knew they were being taped.
They looked at the camera and I showed you some
of the videos because now a lot of these videos
have leaked online, so the authority to try and establish
whether he deliberately used these relationships to spread a possible

(20:05):
disease among the population as well, So if he has
an s t D that could be an additional crime.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
As they're still investigating him.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
They also want to know if he used voodoo.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
They said that, they said that.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
I read that.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
I didn't they did not see God for real?

Speaker 2 (20:24):
All right, Well, they're planning to install surveillance cameras and
government offices now because of this type of behavior. After
he has all I mean, he has an insane amount
of sex videos and he does like to play and.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
Everybody was, yeah, it appears it was consensual. But the
way that it is his own nipples like in a
lot of these, he's what, what is that funny? He
wants to please himself?

Speaker 5 (20:57):
Oh wow?

Speaker 2 (20:59):
All right, well listen and other under the radar news,
a doctor has warned that getting just five hours of
sleep per night can lead to an early death. This
guy was definitely not getting enough sleep because if he
how could it's time to do all this. But whether
you have to get up early as I used to
have to do, or just stressful you know, things keeping
you awake at night. A lot of times it's not

(21:21):
possible to get that that eight hours that they say
is the magic hour that you should be able to get.
But it's between six and eight hours a night, that's
the recommended amount. But if you get five hours, that
can lead to an earlier don't getting well you need
a nap? All right, Well, that is you're under the radar. Now,

(21:42):
you know, we have the Way It mixed at the
top of the hour. Plus it is a Wealth Wednesday.
Fawn Weaver is going to be joining us. She owns
Uncle Nearest that's the whiskey company, and Uncle Ners Nearest
Green is the person who actually showed Jack Daniel how
to make.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Whiskey and how to distill whiskey and all of that.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
So we're going to hear about that incredible story also
how she managed to buy all this land and have
her own distillery to be able to create Uncle Ners
and keep that legacy alive.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
Because it is a wealth Wednesday, guys, it's way up.

Speaker 7 (22:15):
Ask me what I got.

Speaker 17 (22:16):

Wocas And now she joined him on his stream. It
looked like they was having a good time. They were
doing their the dance moves, they were cooking in the kitchen.
They had some fun together. We love to see it, okay,
all right, So a judge is throwing out this restraining
order against doctor Dre from his therapist, doctor Charles Sophie. Now,

(23:59):
doctor Charles Sophie was in the courtroom asking the juge
to sign off on a permanent restraining order against doctor Drea.
He was granted a temporary one last month, but he
had to produce evidence and the judge said that there
is no proof. He showed some text messages where doctor
Dre was saying some threatening things to him, but ultimately
the judge agreed with doctor Dre and said that it

(24:21):
didn't rise to the level of credible threats of violence.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
So right there you have it, no restraining order anymore.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Congratulations, all right.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
Russell Simmons is facing more legal pressure from a former
deaf Damn employee who says that he raped her in
his New York apartment in the mid nineties. There are
now legal documents that were reviewed by Rolling Stone. The accuser,
who is identified as Jane Doe, is asking a judge
to reject his claim that he can't be sued in
New York because he's a stateless He was a citizen

(24:53):
and now retired in Indonesia courtesy of a retirement visa
that he was granted by Indonesian authorities. According to her attorney's,
defendant is running from the court jurisdiction to avoid taking
accountability for his actions.

Speaker 5 (25:07):
Well, Russ found the loopholes. Listen, Russ found the loophole.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
He right there at Indonesia doing his yoga like nothing happened, Okay,
all right. Ice Tea says that hip hop beef isn't
wise in today's social media if you can avoid it.
He said, beef between rappers is a lot bigger today
than it was during his prime years. He said, they
didn't have social media. It's an amplifier to everything. It

(25:31):
forces reaction that really could be squashed and.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
Be so much simpler. Yep, that is definitely true.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
I think a lot of when we see people beefing
with each other and then people go on social media
like are you not going to slide for this person
or you're not going to do something X, Y and Z.

Speaker 6 (25:47):
But the ex morning and then only that the blogs posted,
and it just keeps it going. Yeah, even if you
don't want no beef, if you don't really want to
say nothing, you feel like you have to or else.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
You look like a saka.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
All right, Now, Michael Jackson's biopic is coming. It was
supposed to be in theaters in spring twenty twenty five,
is now going to be available October third of twenty
twenty five.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
It's playing Michael.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
His nephew is playing him, jeffarre Jackson, so that'd be good.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
Does he look like him? In which Michael? Does he
look like?

Speaker 4 (26:23):
Okay, Now I'm just saying like, you need to go
and look this.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
You need to go look oh Michael.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
But Nia Long is playing Katherine Jackson, Kat Graham is
paying Diana Ross, and Lorenz Tate is playing Barry Gordy
and Antoine Fuqua is directing this, by the way, So
I think it'd be a good one. I'm definitely looking
forward to seeing it all right, little Uzi Vert. His
Eternal Take two first week sales prediction is here, and

(26:51):
so it looks like it's going to be in the
top three. They're saying about sixty thousand album equivalent units
for his first week. That would mean that it would
be number three, behind to Being a Carpenter, Short and
Sweet and Tyler the creators Chroma Kopeia. Lastly, here's some
more good news. You know, we gotta celebrate that King
Harris is now a father. That's t I and tiny Son.

(27:14):
They welcome a baby boy yesterday morning with his girlfriend Nana,
and he put this on social media.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
He also has a new song and it's called Dear Son.

Speaker 10 (27:25):
I gotta teach my son protecting the women and your family,
and I also teach them to protect the name that's.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
On the family.

Speaker 10 (27:31):
A son.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
If you stand for anything, then you're.

Speaker 10 (27:33):
Gonna fall for nothing. You're posto type to walk out
of trouble day to type to run. I grew up fighting,
but nowadays you gotta keep a gun. And you and Junior,
so you know that your daddy's son.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
I can't believe King just grew up like had now
you guys, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Them kids are funny, that show is good ta and
tiny shit with their kids absol.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
All right, well that is your yee te. When we
come back, we have asked Yee. It's me and the
award winning advice giving winning.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
New mayn no here to help you out and give you, guys,
any advice that you might need. Again, that's eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty asked.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
Yee is next.

Speaker 8 (28:11):
So everybody since with its relationship with career advice, Angela's dropping.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Facts, you should This is ask what's up? His way?
Up at Angela?

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Yee?

Speaker 2 (28:21):
I'm here, My guy Mana was here, Yeah, and it's
time for ask yee. And who better to do this
with it my award winning advice giving winning friend Mana.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
We have somebody on the line who is anonymous.

Speaker 9 (28:32):
What's up, hey, Angela?

Speaker 5 (28:35):
What's going on?

Speaker 7 (28:36):
So?

Speaker 4 (28:36):
What is going on with you today?

Speaker 9 (28:38):
Doland, my firm donor is taking me to court for
my daughter who he hasn't seen in ten years, and
the courts are allowing me.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
She's calling him a spurn donor because she say don't
need nothing. He wants to see his kids.

Speaker 10 (28:52):
Right.

Speaker 9 (28:52):
The only problem I had with this he started taking
me to court when he found out that I was
pregnant with my second kid and I moved on from him. Locations,
a long history of domestic violence, like I got away iOS.
This is my second lawyer than not advocating well for me.
So I don't know what to do anymore.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Has he been paying talent support at all during his time?

Speaker 9 (29:12):
Nothing?

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Okay, I don't want it.

Speaker 9 (29:14):
I want nothing to do with him. He's married because
he found out that I moved on. Now he's taking
you a court for a little girl he hasn't seen
in the last ten years, less care. He moved wherever
he went to and on a life of family member.
But I don't know how the court is seemed that
this is safe for my daughters to even see him.
He doesn't want to.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
And you have a record, and you have a record
because you said the police were called.

Speaker 9 (29:36):
Yeah, I have a record. I went to the precinct
last night and I got all the orders of all
the police reports, everything I did, Michael diligence because I
don't understand how the court is not seamless.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
What city, what state are you in?

Speaker 9 (29:48):
I'm in Brooklyn, New York.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
When it comes to these lawyers. What types of lawyers
are you using?

Speaker 9 (29:53):
He's free, My lawyer is freeous I'm not paying out
of pocket for anything to deal with him because I'm
not gonna do that. You don't even he me out
with my kid. Why should I pay for a lawyer?

Speaker 4 (30:02):
I just want to So.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
There's there a few things here that I want to
say that you should do because if you feel like
these pro bono lawyers who are doing things with you
aren't up to the standards, this is definitely really important,
But there are also a lot of nonprofits that can
actually help you get representation.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
You need somebody who was on points.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Secondly, I do feel you deserve to get child support
because that money could go to help and pay for
a lawyer too. But I do feel like you have
not had him do that all this time, and that's
still his responsibility because.

Speaker 9 (30:36):
Of our history of domestic violence. I just wanted him
to stay away, and I just wanted to live my life.
I didn't want him to know anything about us, where
we live, where my daughter goes to school.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Nothing.

Speaker 9 (30:45):
The last cour case, they wanted to arrest me because
I didn't even want to give up her full address.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
Right, So this is a lot, and that's the thing
that as a father, he does have rights.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
I also would not play around because you never know,
and so I just think it's really important for you
to get the right representation first and foremost. And I
don't know that a court will say that he can't
even have any visitation if he wants to be in Yeah,
if he wants to be in his child's life. So
that might be something that you're going to have to
figure out and come to terms with. But figure out

(31:15):
how that is going to happen, right, And then I
don't know if there's a way to get a mediator involved.
Maybe you should ask for some type of counseling, you know,
whatever it is that you can ask for. I'm not
an attorney, so I'm not in a position to really
tell you, but I know a lot of people who
have had to go through the system and dealing with
custody cases and dealing with parents. But also understand that
he you know, he does have rights, so you don't

(31:37):
want to act like he doesn't have any at all,
But you want to make sure that he can't threaten you.

Speaker 9 (31:42):
That's it. I just want to make sure that he
can't for the right reasons, because a mom's first job
is a protection kid. So I'm just protecting my baby.

Speaker 13 (31:48):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (31:49):
I know and I understand.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
And also just make sure whatever type of communication that
you have, just watch what you're saying and writing because
all of those things can be you.

Speaker 4 (31:58):
So just be cautious. Imagine everything's being monitored.

Speaker 9 (32:02):
All right, Thank you, Angela. Thanks to anyone's in.

Speaker 10 (32:06):
They're willing to help.

Speaker 9 (32:07):
Give them my numbers, all right, right, so you know what.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
We're gonna get your information and let's see. Okay, thank you.

Speaker 9 (32:13):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
All right.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Well that was ask ye eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty in case you couldn't get through. And
when we come back, it is a Wealth Wednesday. Stacy
Tisday will be here. We'll be talking to New York
Times best selling author Fawn Weaver. She is also the
owner of Uncle Ners Whiskey, and she's got an amazing
story about how she made this happen.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
It's way up.

Speaker 11 (32:33):
I had a dream of living wealthy, and I don't
mind sharing my wealth dog getting you straight financially, mentally
and physically.

Speaker 7 (32:40):
This is Wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angela yee.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
What's up? Its way up at Angela Yee. I'm here.
My girl Stacy Tis Daille is here.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
She's my partner in wealth Wednesday, and we have a
true unicorn unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
We are so.

Speaker 19 (32:52):
Excited to have fun. We were here and Fawn is
one of only five African American women in the United
States to lead a one billion dollar plus company in
the United States.

Speaker 15 (33:04):
To lead one that I own.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
I'm going to us as I wanted to say, I
remember when you first bought Uncle Nerris, and we're bringing
this story to the masses and telling this story about
Jack Daniel's a relationship to Uncle Nerris and how Uncle
Nerris is the person who actually taught them how to
make the whiskey.

Speaker 20 (33:22):
So Nearest Green is the first known African American master distiller,
the teacher mentor of Jack Daniel, and the entire time
that Jack was alive, Jack and his descendants always made
sure not only did they give Nearest credit in Nearess's
boys credit and grandkids credit, but they also made sure
that we knew the difference between Kentucky bourbon and Tennessee whiskey.

(33:46):
They're both straight bourbon whiskeys. The difference between the two
is the process that came in with the West Africans,
the Lincoln County process, taking traditional bourbon, distill it, running
it through sugar maple charcoal before it goes into the barrel,
remove the impurities. That's why Uncle new Yors doesn't give
you a headache because we're pulling out those.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Impurities right now with Stacy Tisdale for Wealth Wednesday, and
we're talking to Faun Weaver, the owner of Uncle Ners Whiskey. Now,
since this is Wealth Wednesday, I also want to talk
about you Fun Weaver as an individual in your background,
because this was not something that you even had intended
to do right and at all at all.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
Yeah, and this wasn't even something.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Spirits, was not something that you had a background in,
but you became extremely passionate about it when you went
to go do this deal. So can you just give
us a little of that story, because I think it's
really important for people to understand that you can feel
such a strong passion for something and actually educate yourself
the way that you did and what that process was like,
because I'm sure there's people listening who have something they

(34:46):
really want to do but feel like well, this isn't
what I do, this isn't my background, so let me
figure out something else.

Speaker 20 (34:52):
We have this And I don't know if there was
a book that came out that told people they needed
mentors and allies to get ahead.

Speaker 15 (34:58):
You don't need a mentor, chat GPTB, a mentoring.

Speaker 20 (35:01):
Now you have templates. All you got to do is
do the work, fill it in. And so we now
have everything at our fingertips to succeed. There are no
excuses at this point, right except for the ones that
we create. And if you say, well, you know, I
come from an area where education isn't great. I dropped
out of high school at fifteen, but I studied myself.

(35:22):
We have to get to a place where we're we
stopped looking for people to lead us. And when it
comes to this story, when I came into it, I
remember sitting down with Now he's the chairman of Brown
Foreman who owns Jack Daniels. And this was long after
Uncle Niar's came out, and we sat down and I
remember and I like this guy a lot, so this
isn't a negative thing. But we sat down he said, listen,
fun I just didn't believe you could pull this off,

(35:44):
and then we began talking about the whiskey business. He's like, well, wait, wait,
wait wait, I thought you did marketing. You're talking about
the whiskey making process.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
And he said, I.

Speaker 15 (35:55):
Don't even know the science of the whiskey making process.

Speaker 20 (35:58):
To mind you, he was running one of the top
burden companies and he left that to his scientists and
his engineers, his distillers.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
And I was like, that's what he was, the business man,
but he wasn't the person that actually could do the
business right.

Speaker 20 (36:13):
But here's the thing is is we now have access
pick an industry. We can master it, and it's why
I love AI. I know there's some dangers to it,
but I believe it to be the great equalizer for
women and people of color.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Fana Weaver is here for this Wealth Wednesday with an
incredible story about how she became a New York Times
bestselling author but also the owner of Uncle NER's Whiskey
and how important it is for her to tell that story.
We have more with her when we come back. Me
and Stacy Tisdale Wealth Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
It's way up.

Speaker 11 (36:43):
We had a dream of wealthy and I don't mind
sharing my wealth.

Speaker 8 (36:47):
Dogs getting you straight financially, mentally, and physically. This is
Wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angela.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Yee, what's up? Its way up with Angela Ye. I'm here.
It's a Wealth Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
So Stacy Tisdale is here and we are talking to
the owner of Uncle NRIs Whiskey, Fawn Weaver.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
Stacy, you have a question.

Speaker 19 (37:04):
Our audience is full of entrepreneurs. Yeah, what are some
tips that you have for entrepreneurs. You've talked about your
marketing success, You've talked about following your vision, being comfortable
with financial stress, all of educating. You're sound educating. What
are some real takeaways that you want our audience to have.

Speaker 20 (37:18):
If you think you're going to build your company from
your savings, you're highly mistaken. Entrepreneurs are so afraid to risk.
You have so many that are like, oh my gosh,
I'm almost down to the end of my savings. I
better go and get a job, and they'll quit what
they've been working toward for years because they're afraid of

(37:40):
their savings going below a certain place. And I'm like, look, building,
Uncle Ners, I've been broke probably twenty five times, and
by the way, I'll probably be broke twenty five more
times as I build out the cognac company and the
vodka company.

Speaker 15 (37:51):
But it's a calculated risk.

Speaker 20 (37:54):
And so for entrepreneurs, if you were told, listen, you
got to do this on your savings, don't take out loans,
d D. I want you to look at every successful
entrepreneur in America and I promise you that's the opposite
of what they did.

Speaker 19 (38:08):
Case in point, ke you the success comfortable with uncertainty.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
Right now with Stacy Tisdale for Wealth Wednesday, and we're
talking to fun Weaver, the owner of Uncle Neris Whiskey.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
Stacy, you have a question.

Speaker 19 (38:19):
Last thing I wanted to touch on. Tell us about
the Black Business Booster program and the Nearest Screen Foundation.

Speaker 20 (38:25):
Yeah, so Near Screen Foundation before we ever sold a
bottle of Uncle neras I told Nears' descendants, if you
get into college, you got a full ride.

Speaker 15 (38:34):
And so from day one, I have paid for all
of his descendants, and there's a lot of them.

Speaker 20 (38:42):
Let me tell you there was a whole subsect of
Green in Lynchberg that were so highly disappointed to find
out they weren't on the family.

Speaker 15 (38:51):
I'm looking you up because I got a kid in college.

Speaker 20 (38:55):
No I know, but but we but literally every no matter,
I mean, we've paid for them to get their jds
to go straight.

Speaker 15 (39:04):
Through and May and they're doing amazing.

Speaker 20 (39:06):
And then the Black Business Booster Program essentially every lead
person in leadership for my company where everybody's batfo. If
you are black and you are in this business, the
likelihood that you have reached into us to get help
with your distributor, to get help with connecting on capital,
figuring out how to raise money, how to get barrels,
how to get bottles to it's a real high likelihood

(39:29):
of that. And then every year we gather about two
hundred of them at Nearest Green Distillery and do a
whole full day workshop as a part of the Nearest
and Jack Advancement Initiative, and literally all the gatekeepers in
this industry come from behind the gates to come to
Nearest Green Distillery to support all of these black founders.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
I appreciate all the work you do.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
I love the fact that you've built this from the
beginning when I first met you, to see like, it's
just been amazing, and I think it's so part the
story behind a brand. And I think you know it's
a testament to the work that you put in, the
research that you've done, the lives that you've touched, and
the continuing philanthropy that you keep doing as well.

Speaker 4 (40:10):
So it's a combination of things.

Speaker 15 (40:12):
Thank you, Angela.

Speaker 19 (40:13):
Everybody go to Amazon and get love and Whiskey Funweaver.
