your forehead looking big on all the clips we posted you.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Yes, just get I don't know, it's just getting. I
didn't know. My forehead literally just like growing by the day,
and it's it's alarming. And then you told me to
get banged.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
That's a good idea, look at my bangs.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
But forehead, no, no, no, it's.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Foreheads for people are like a very particular thing. People
get very self conscious because it's not much you could
really do, Like you can't have fore head surgery.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Right right, I mean, and then when your hairline goes
it's over.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Right, And then I can't wear hats and stuff like
that too, because you know.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
They say it's called hat fishing, right halfish right?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Well, today is also a wealth Wednesday. We're gonna have
Santino Drew joining us. He's a uh, he's got a
great story set back to come back, his journey to
financial freedom and actually this is Mayno's guy. Mayno's been
trading stocks and investing in the stock market, and so
when you hear his story, you're gonna love it. But
let's shut the store up with some Let's start the
show off your forehead, just really distracting me with some
(01:25):
love and positivity. Let's shine a light eight hundred two
nine to fifty one fifty call us up. Let us
know who you would like to shine a light on?
Its way up with Darties Shine.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
I'm shin turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to
those who are doing greatness.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
The light on them, shine light on. It's time to
shine a light on.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Yes, His way up with Angela Ye Radel Artis is
my guest co host for the day, Grand Rising, Grand Rising,
And who would you like to shine a light on?
Speaker 1 (01:57):
I would like to shine a light on my man
the Jet.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
His name is Arturo and he's been putting in that
work for real over the past you know, two years,
and especially if the past few months, you know, so
definitely want to show him some love.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Yeah, because you do have United Palace coming up in
just a few days. Oh yeah, this Saturday, This Saturday.
That's amazing. Yeah, he set that up.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah, he put in a lot of work to make
that happen and to help us sell it out.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Listen, people don't understand how important management is. The right
management can be amazing, the wrong management can be.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Right.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Shout out to you are Turo and now let's throw
it to our listeners.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Corey. Who would you like to shine a light on.
Speaker 6 (02:42):
I would like to shine a light on my lady,
Brenda Denise Smith. I want to say that she's the
most phenomenal woman that I've met in my entire life.
She has been through with me through my ups and downs,
especially when I was on house arrest for charges I
was of long time ago, and she stuck by my
fide any times that I need money, She's always there
(03:02):
and we always help each other. And it's our birthday today,
so I want to say a happy birthday to you. Baby.
I loved so much and I can't even wait to
continue to go to more years with you.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
I love that. So she held you down.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
Yes, that's my baby man. When we just had a
baby girl, I want to say nine months ago.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Well, congratulations to you. I love that for both of you.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
Thank you so much. And Leie you have a good
in the whole team.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Thank you you too.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
All right, Well that was Shina Light eight hundred and
two ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
we can take your call and play it for last word.
And when we come back, Delartees and I have your
yea T. We'll talk about asap Rocky. He was in
court yesterday and we'll tell you what's going on, because
people forgot there's a trial that's coming up.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
It's way up, they.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Say, is in the rooms from industry shade to all
of gosp out sending Angela's feeling that et.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
That's way up with Angela yee, and we are sipping
on this tea here, me and Riddell Arts are in
the building.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Hey yea T. So acep Rocky.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Now, I've been following this story right because people forget
that he does have this trial that's coming up for
being accused of shooting his friend, his former friend, acep Relly,
and he has turned down a plea deal. We knew
this was going to happen though, because last week his
lawyer said they have evidence and they're confident that he
can win this. And so he was offered three years probation,
(04:23):
a seven year suspended prison sentence in one hundred and
eighty days in county jail if he pleaded guilty, but
he said.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
I respectfully decline.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
You know how, you got to be very confident to say, okay,
I decline that.
Speaker 7 (04:36):
Now.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
A Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dllon was in the courtroom
and she said that acep Rocky's lawyer also talked about
his defense on record for the first time his defense.
They confirmed they plan a call two witnesses who will
say the firearm that was seen on security video was
a starter pistol, a prop gun that he carried for
security reasons.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
What do you carry for security reasons?
Speaker 1 (04:59):
I got too bad hands?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Oh that's it, okay, so you got hands? Yeah, okay. Well,
the other thing that was.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
A big deal where people were wondering are acep Rocky
and Rihanna married, because in court they referred to her
as his wife, but then the judge wanted them to
clarify the marital status and then they said, that's his
common law wife, so it looks like they're not married
legally yet. And they said you can't refer to her
as your wife unless you're legally married, all right, But
in the meantime we can enjoy some of his Mercer
(05:29):
and Prince whiskey, which I enjoy. Chris Brown is suing
the producers behind Investigation Discoveries Chris Brown a History of
Violence docuseries. People were very upset when this docuseries came out.
I saw the Chris Brown fans saying that why are
you doing this while you're dragging all this stuff back up?
So new court documents attained by TMC show that he
(05:49):
is going to sue them for a five hundred million
wow dollars. And I have to say there was a
lot of press when this was coming out, and I
haven't really heard anybody talk about it since it came out.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Now here's what happens in the trailer. Let's call a
thing a thing.
Speaker 6 (06:05):
He's an abuser of women, consistently, unapologetically.
Speaker 7 (06:11):
Does a long list of various different women who's accused
Chris Brown of assaulting that.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Oh.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
I have not spoken about this, not or publicly, but
that's the only way he can be stopped.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
All right.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
So he's saying this docuseries is largely based on a
lawsuit that a Jane Doe bought against him and that
she later withdrew.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
The suit because it was full of lies.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
So he's saying that the producers and Jane Doe chose
to disregard that fact in order to defame him and
his reputation and has taken him a long time to
repair that. He's taken accountability for his past mistakes and
he's been directly impacted by this docusary.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
So he wants five hundred million dollars in damages.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
He wants to partly plan to donate victims of sexual abuse.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
If he gets that money. So there you have it.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Five hundred million is crazy.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
You know.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
His career, I feel like Chris Brown has never really
gotten to the level he could have gotten to, really
because there's people that won't book him for things. There's
appearances that he doesn't get a chance to make. He
is an amazing performer, he's got a great catalog, but
there literally are people that don't mess with him because
of these allegations. And we saw everything that happened with Rihanna,
(07:23):
and that did happen, you know, and that was a
long time ago. They both I think moved on from that.
It's not an excusable thing. But it's something that you
can come back that he has worked hard to come
back from and make amends for. And so you know,
if these things in this documentary are not true, that
is an issue.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
All right?
Speaker 2 (07:42):
All right, well that is your ut.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
When we come back about last night, that's where we
discussed what we did last night. I know you're getting
ready for your big day on the twenty fifth, we'll
talk about it.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
It's way up.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
This is a judgment freeze all tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
It's way up at Angela. Yee, I'm here with with
Dela Orties. Are you ready to hear some secrets?
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Are you ready to not judge anyone?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
We listen and we judge.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
No, don't judge, right right, we don't judge. We listen
and we don't judge. All right, and none of his color?
Tell us your secret?
Speaker 8 (08:16):
Okay. So the secret is recently a guy that I'm
talking people with, my boyfriend, he connected me to his
brother in Nigeria and we went on to line and
I realized, like, oh my god, I like his brother
more than him for me and his brother and so wait.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
A second, why do you connect you to his brother.
Speaker 8 (08:38):
I think he just wanted me to like know someone
in the country and just have a friend.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
So you were going on a trip out there and
he was like, oh, my brother's there.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yes, Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
But the brother, the brothers with it.
Speaker 8 (08:52):
The brother doesn't know that I talked to his brother either.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
How could he not know?
Speaker 4 (08:58):
So his brother didn't say, oh my girl is coming
out there.
Speaker 8 (09:02):
No, okay. So the brother that introduced me to the
other brother in Nigeria, he's married. Oh god, I think
that's something that he would say is drama. I need
to let it go for twenty twenty five, honestly.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
So your boyfriend is married and then you started dating
your married boyfriend's brother in Nigeria. Yeah, it's the the
guy in Nigeria married too. No, okay, Well he can't.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
I mean what he's married.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Yeah, what's he gonna say?
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Like, he probably tell me, right, he probably knew. He
was like, on, go to my brother.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
This is a mess, right it is.
Speaker 8 (09:40):
Oh my god, you think that I'm getting pissed out?
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I think they know.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
Yeah, yeah, he knows, bro, send me another chick, right,
But are you having fun?
Speaker 8 (09:55):
I'm having fun? I mean I'm getting mine. I mean
I'm getting taken.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
On trips, okay, funding money or anything. No, because I
watched ninety Day Fiance.
Speaker 8 (10:09):
Yes, did you see me on the next episode? It
was you brought out the story story angelisode. That would me.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
Okay, all right, Well, thank you for sharing with us
and sharing with the brothers too.
Speaker 8 (10:23):
Thank you. You're welcome.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
All right, take care. Hey Anonymous, Carla, how are you.
Speaker 9 (10:29):
I'm good.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
It's me.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
I read dell Orties. Ready to hear your secret? Sit
back and not judge.
Speaker 9 (10:34):
I hooked up with my cousin, but I didn't know
that was my cousin.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Oh, that's hot. Tell us more.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
How'd you find out?
Speaker 9 (10:42):
It wasn't hot? It was hot at the moment. We
met on a dating app and everything was going good
until he ghosted me a little bit later. And then
I saw him on New Year's at a family party
and I went up to him to see what was up,
and it got really it was just it was weird.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
He's my cousin, your first cousin.
Speaker 9 (11:00):
No, is my cousin's cousin.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Okay, it's his cousin, her cousin's cousin.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Quick question, are you Dominican.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Maybe don't try to out her.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Well, your man, that's a mis honest mistake.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
No, because she shout like my cousin, so it might have.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Wait a minute, this might have been you have another
but thank you for calling.
Speaker 10 (11:27):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
All right, Well that was tell Us a Secret eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
That's scandal.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
There's a lot of family scandals for tell Us a
Secret today.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
And when we come back, we have your yee tea.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
And y'all know Sisa do not like an awkward moment,
so we'll tell you. As Sissus said after Kiki Palmer
questioned her about Drake and whether or not he's a
good kisser, it's way up, yea tee.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Is next shows about the lid abof this butt. Let's
get it Angelus feeling.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
That yea te Come and get the tea.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
It's way up with Angela. Yeah, I'm here with my
guest host by Delartes. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Let's get
into some yut All right, well, let's talk about this
hot wings versus. And this was Kiki Palmer, Isa Ray
and Sissa. You know that's all dealing with the one
of them days movies, which was amazing and it's doing
(12:19):
numbers in the box office. So one of the questions
that Kicky Palmer asked Sizza was.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
This is a good kisser two thousand and nine we
were children. I mean, it's a simple good or not good. Yeah,
it's really easy.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
And the fact that you don't want to say one
is very There.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Was pressure her to answer that.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
I know she should have just said he was all right, right,
that's that's a good like noncommittal answer.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
I didn't dish you, but I didn't miss you.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Right, you know. Is like like she's like private will
with all of that stuff.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Though yeah, she did not like doing it.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
She'll be like, I'm off of this social media all right,
and speaking of Drake. Drake is like the topic of
conversation so much.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Still.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
Princess Love was recently on with Carlos King. You know,
he does those sit downs, but he gets people to
spill their guts, and she talks about the time that
ray Ja got upset at her and I don't know
if they're still married.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
I know they're separated. But anyway, here is what she
had to say.
Speaker 11 (13:25):
I dropped her off at Drake's house I went in
for five minutes.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
I left her there.
Speaker 11 (13:29):
The next day, I was getting confronted about me going
to Drake's house like I was there for him.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Ray confronted you about going to Drake's house. Yes, and
he found out because Tierra Marie told him yes.
Speaker 11 (13:42):
I think yes.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Why did Tiera feel the need to lie about that?
Speaker 11 (13:46):
I am and was just as confused as you.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
So she's saying that she gave Tiera Marie a ride
to Drake's house, went inside for five minutes, and then left,
and Rey j accused her of going for herself.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
What the hell else she's doing for five minutes here?
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Now?
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Huh, maybe she had to go to the bathroom.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
N you could get a lot done in five minutes,
you heard?
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Maybe you all right?
Speaker 4 (14:11):
And Lil Wayne has announced some plans that people are
excited about. I feel like he's been saying this and
we've been waiting. But here's what he said. At least
the card states that's played, play five guaranteed or not
doing He was yes, so guaranteed. He says that in
twenty twenty five, the card is six is gonna come out?
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Hell yeah, long, hell yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
You know we played a MILLI earlier, and I was
just thinking about how to this day they use a
million commercials. They you know, people still rock that song Timeless, Yeah,
timeless music. All right, And Trevor Noah's going to be
hosting the twenty twenty five Grammy Awards and he's also
going to produce the show. That's the way to do it.
You want me to host it, I need to also
get my production credit. So that's gonna continue on to
(14:53):
be held February second at the Crypto dot Com Arena
in LA. Originally they were thinking about whether they should
push a bag given the wild fires and everything that
was happening. But now there's gonna be funds raised to
support wildfire relief efforts and also honoring the bravery and
dedication of first responders, so it's still happening for a
good purpose. Nice, all right, Well that is your Yet
(15:13):
when we come back, we have under the radar, the
stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying
under the radar, but you need to know about them.
One thing I was talking about that I was upset about,
and then I said, I don't even pay for my
Netflix subscription.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
We'll talk about it is way up.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Yeah, news position the news that relates to you. These
stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
It's way I put angela Ye. I'm here with my
guest co host for the day, Radela Ortiz. Yo yo,
and let's get into this under the radar. So Netflix
announced yesterday that they're going to raise prices on most
of its subscription tiers in the US.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
I feel like they just did this.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah. I mean I was watching Netflix and my girl,
she's the one who pays like for the Netflix, and
the AD came on and I will show I mean
I was show offended. Yeah. I was like, yo, you
you are very ghetto and very poor. Thing's got a change.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Because you also have YouTube premium in five Oh.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Yeah, I'm a super like premium ad free kind of guy.
But I'm not gonna lie. It's like a little complex.
But it's just like I don't got time to waste
watching ads, bro.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
I would say, I watch ads on Peacock, I watch
ads on Hulu, I watch ads on Prime.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Come on. I honestly thought he was above all.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
I'm not cash poor.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
Well, the price increases that have been announced, we'll see
the standard monthly membership without ads go from fifteen forty
nine to seventeen ninety nine. Now an account with ADS
will go up to seven ninety nine. See, I'd rather
save ten dollars in watching AD.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
I mean, you know, an attitude on her, I guess.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
And then they also have four K video quality.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
That tier, that's the premium tier, and that's going to
be twenty four to ninety nine a month.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
That's a lot watch Netflix and four K. I thought
I really wasn't four K.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
I guess not. You're not as premium as you think
you are.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
But they also had their biggest ever subscriber jump. They
reported nineteen million new subscribers in the last quarters. So
it's just interesting now that they're doing this. But they
have three hundred and two million subscribers globally.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Yeah, I mean everybody has Netflix.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
It's literally Netflix and Chill, right, and I have everything else,
but nobody says peacock and chill.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Nah, you can't say that. Ain't nobody doing no peacock
and Chi.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
I enjoy it.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
But you know, all right, now, the White House has
ordered that all government DEI employees be placed on leave,
effective immediately. So if you have any type of federal diversity, equity,
inclusion and accessibility, position and office. You will be paid
on you will be placed on paid administrative leave, and
then I guess they're gonna fire you after that. So
(17:54):
they also want to have agencies remove offices, websites, and
social media account and cancel any DEI related trainings. Wow,
that's white wash America. It's all about all right. Well,
that is your under the radar. When we come back,
we have the Way Up Mix at the top of
the hour, plus we have a special guest joining us
(18:15):
for this Wealth Wednesday. Santino Drew is going to be here.
He has a fantastic story about how he learned how
to invest in the stock market, which is something that
I've been focused on trying to learn and it's his
journey to financial freedom.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
He's going to share with you what it is that
he did to get to where he is today. It's
way up.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
She's like to talk like they Angela Jean, like they
Angela Jean Man.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
She's spilling it all.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
This is yet way up.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
It's way up at Angela Yee. My guest host today
is roydela Ortiz. I want to say one thing to
Lily the cable guy who sent out a tweet saying,
listening to Angela Yee talk about effing in the fridge
and investing in Caribbean resources on the radio all before
noon makes me realize I need to up my game.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Just for the record, that was Radell who was doing
that in the fridge, you find, all right. He was
the one that was okay doing that, not me.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
So I just want to put that out there because
I don't want any misinformation.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Spike it up, it up, that's what we're trying to
We're just trying to tell people to.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Spice it up a little bit, some hot sauce while
you do it. Yeah, fridge, do you put hot sauce
in the fridge?
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Okay, just making sure I do.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Got to keep a.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
No sometimes it says to refrigerate after opening sauce in
the fridge.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Really all right.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
So, Wendy Williams, the family is preparing to take legal
action against her guardianship, and in a recent update that's
on her gofund me page, it was revealed the family
has retained an attorney to represent her niece Alex Finney
in these legal proceedings. And so they say that this
current situation is not only unfair but also deeply isolating.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
The campaign has.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Not yet reached its goal, which is fifty thousand dollars,
but they share the twenty thousand of that money raised
so far has been allocated to keep the attorney on retainer,
so we'll see what happens with that. At least they've
managed to bring a significant amount of attention to what's
going on with Wendy Williams.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
All right now.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Sexy Red has apologized to Bernice King, that is Martin
Luther King Junior's daughter, after she was called out for
a disrespectful post. She has since deleted this post, but
it's an AI generated image of her and Martin Luther
King Junior dancing together in a nightclub, and Bernice was upset.
She said, it's intentionally distasteful, dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful to
(20:34):
my family and my father who was not here to
respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your
civil and human rights and to end war and poverty.
Please delete, and she said, please don't project your thoughts
onto me. I don't believe sexy Red to be a degenerate,
ghetto or trash. I have spoken out in the past
about the use of in comparison to either of my
parents to denigrate other people. She said, I just don't
(20:54):
understand the type of use of my father's image, and
Sexy Red said, you ain't wrong, never meant to disrespect
your family. My apologies, just reposted something I saw that
I thought was innocent.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
I like her response. Yeah, yeah, well they dancing like
by your thought, that's like the funniest thing.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
You would think the party.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
You would think sexy rad you think she's like grinding
on him and stuff, But she's literally dancing like.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Mad grind on Martin Luther, King Juan, Now that would
be crazy for the King did say thank you for
your apology, which I sincerely accept. Please know that it
was not my intention that you'd be denigrated. I value
you as a human being. I hope you understand my
concerns about the image. And so she doesn't want her
dad to be a caricature, right, and that makes sense?
Speaker 2 (21:40):
All right, Well, that is your that is your ut.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
By the way, it seems like she's going to be
teaming up in Bruno Mars to do a strip club anthem.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
I mean, bro anything with Bruno Mars. I want to
hear bro Bruno Mars is the goat.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
All right, well again that is your ut.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
When we come back, Rats, we got to talk about
what you have going on Saturday and everything that you've
been up to the world is yours. I saw you
on top of a skyscraper staring down at the world
beneath you.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
It's way up, It's way up with Angela, Ye, let's go.
You are a media maven, right.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
You never know what Andre's gonna say.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
All right, it's way up at Angela.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Yee.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Rod della Ortiz has been guest hosting with me all
day to day.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Yeah, we're having a good time.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
Now you're also going to be performing at United Palace.
I am on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
How you feeling.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
I'm excited. I'm a little nervous, but mostly excited.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
We mentioned when you first were really like doing stand
up shows and everything.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Yeah, for real, right in the beginning. Really last year.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah, so you had a really great twenty twenty four,
you would say.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah, really, Gray, I've been to we have fifty nine shows,
a bunch of different cities, met so many people all
over the place, people that have been following me since
twenty eighteen, have never met me, and I've been able
to meet them, and it was just a lot of
fun working on my set and now it's ready.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Tell me how you so this is an actual set?
Are you going to film this for a special?
Speaker 1 (23:03):
No?
Speaker 2 (23:03):
No, no, no, no, you're not that ready.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
No no, don't get me wrong. Don't get me wrong.
We feel like it is ready for that, but not
just yet, not your cat setting.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Yeah, all right, I feel that, you know. It's interesting.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Also, I wanted to ask you because you do some
amazing sketches and of course your family is very involved
in the success of those sketches too. So what's this
transition like from talking into your phone and filming and doing.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
That to actually being in front of a live audience.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
I mean, yeah, when you when you're just recording skits,
like there's really not no high risk there, you know,
like you just post a whack video and it's just whatever.
Nobody really cares. But when you're on stage and you like, hey,
and you say a punchline and nobody laugh, Yo, that hurts,
I know, and then you gotta like just kind of
like some people blame it on the crowd, you know, like, oh,
(23:52):
you guys, don't get it.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
You can't do that. That doesn't work.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Yeah, I don't do that.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
I've heard that you have to get the crowd with you,
like to be on your side. You can't like insult them.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Right, because a lot of people, the way I look
at it, is like you're the bus driver, Right, you
don't want to bomb, you don't want to do bad,
But they don't want you to do bad neither.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Right. They came there to have a good time, got
the intention.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
They don't like they don't want to see you embarrassed
because it's like secondhand embarrassment. So you got to make
them feel like, hey, this is all a part of it.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Now.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
I want to ask you a couple of questions based
off of your sketches. Okay, so let's say you order
some food from uber Eats and the food comes out
to forty eight dollars.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
How much do you tip.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Forty eight dollars? I'm a tip. What's a good tip
for forty eight dollars? All shape like eight dollars?
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Okay, that's nice, it's almost twenty It's like an eighteen
percent tip.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeah, I'm a very like, very sexy tipper. I've always
been said that I'm a very romantic tipper.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
I the other day I ordered food from the Uber
East guy was freezing out, you know, it's been like
a crazy weather, and so I gave him like a
really nice tip, and he sent me this long message
back really yeah, like thank you so much. Like we've
been going through a lot with the family, and I
really appreciate this.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
And I felt like, wow, is you know.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
You roll back and you was say, yo, please don't
hit me up no more.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
No, I mean it was it was nice because I
felt good because I know some people. One person I
know one time they tipped the Uber each person a
dollar and I was so upset about it, right, because
that's whack.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
You can't just do that.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, I mean when it comes to service and stuff, bro,
if you're going to use the service man, you just
gotta tip good. It's just good. Kar Month.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
And you worked in food before, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
I mean what do you I told you I worked
in food. You're just calling me fat on.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
But I say your interview with Jazzy, oh.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Yeah, Jazz as well, I have worked at food.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
See I didn't say that.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I say you've been around food a lot. Obviously all right.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Well, listen, make sure you guys get those tickets to
go see Rydella Ortiz. Let's see where can we get
it for United Palace? You could google this on your page.
You can find it right that's gonna be happening on
Saturday when we come back. Ask ye are you ready
to get some advice? Yes, we're really going to help somebody?
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Yes, all right?
Speaker 4 (26:05):
Real eight hundred nine two fifty one fifty ask yee
is next?
Speaker 5 (26:09):
Okay, everybody since with its relationship for career advice, Angela's
dropping facts.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
You shoul you should know if this is ask What's up?
Speaker 3 (26:18):
This way?
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Yep, but Angela Yee.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
I'm here with my special guest co host for the
Day of Radela Ortiz. Hey, and today we have a
Nova on the line for ask Ye what's up?
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Nova?
Speaker 7 (26:27):
I'm good?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
How are you? We're good? You have a question for
me at radell.
Speaker 7 (26:31):
I'm kind of going through the situation right now. I
am a manager at a restaurant and I have hired
my friend. She's been kind of just slacking awful lot lately,
and I'm not sure how to tell her that I
have to let her go now, Like.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
It's on my well, she knows she's slacking off, and
I also think it's unfair of her to take advantage
of the fact that you're like her boss. So she
probably is acting like she could do what she wants.
Speaker 7 (26:56):
Mm hmmm, that's what I was thinking. And I've given
her a future answers. I feel like I've talked to
her on the side, kind of like, come on time,
you know what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (27:04):
But it's just not hitting Well, Look, you gave her
her warnings and she didn't heed them, and this is
the real world, and unfortunately you can't risk what you
have going on because she wants to slack off. What
if you get fired because of her and your poor management.
Speaker 7 (27:21):
That's what I'm saying. And I brought her in, so
it's making me look bad.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Yeah, right, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Think about yourself, friendship and business.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
You have to learn how to separate those things and
hopefully you guys can still be friends.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
If not, that's on her, not on you. But you
should let her know.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
Look, I know that we're friends and I never want
anything to affect our friendship, but unfortunately, you know this
job isn't working out, and explain to her why.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
And be like.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
You know, unfortunately, I'm in the position where, even though
we're friends, I have to do what I have to
do for the business, and I have a responsibility to
do that right. I especially feel like when a friend
hires you, you owe them, right.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
You got to do better. You got to do even
a better job. Do y'all hang out a lot outside
of work.
Speaker 7 (28:06):
Yeah, that's my girl, that's my homegirl from like we
grew up together.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
If you fire her and y'all go out, you're gonna
have to pay the bill, you know what, to.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
Take her to dinner. Let's pretend that, right, Della is
your friend? How would you fire her?
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Hey, what's up?
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Girl?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
I know I'm twenty minutes late, but you know last
night was crazy.
Speaker 7 (28:25):
Hey girl, we gotta we gotta sit down real quick.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
Oh yeah, what's up? Talk to me?
Speaker 7 (28:30):
You know, I feel like I've given you a few
warnings lately, and I've been trying to, you know, help
you out. But at this point it's been observed beyond
me that you are still coming late, and unfortunately I'm
gonna have to let you go.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
And I'm so sorry to do this. Are you being
serious on me?
Speaker 1 (28:48):
You know that my boyfriend left me and my kids
are own. My kids are homeless.
Speaker 7 (28:54):
As her kid and my kids have played dates.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Oh man, see that you brought up another thing.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
This is tough.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
I do want to say though, just one last thing, Nova,
I want to say, she did it to herself.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
You can't get away with it anywhere else.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
You probably cut her a lot more slack than the
average person would.
Speaker 6 (29:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Well, no, you're gonna have to do that. You're gonna
have to get rid of her, try and keep the
friendship alive. But just always know you you're a terrible
person for that.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Thank y'all. So you did your best. You did your best. Well,
thank you, Novah, good luck. Let us know how it goes. Please,
thank you.
Speaker 7 (29:34):
I'll talk to you later.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
All right.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Well, when we come back, we have a special guest
joining us for Wealth Wednesday. We have our guys, Santino
Drew from set Back to come Back Santino Jew's journey
to financial freedom. He's from Chicago, raised in New Jersey,
and overcame a whole lot of battles in order to
be able to invest in the stock market.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
He's going to tell you what you need to do
is way up.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
Kind of dream of wealthy.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
I'm not on mind sharing my wealth dogs.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
Getting you straight financially, mentally, and physically. This is wealth
Wednesday on way up with Angela.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Ye, what's up? Its way up at Angela yee, And
I'm here with my guy may no no, what's the vibe?
Speaker 4 (30:13):
And we have one of your friends in the building,
Santino Drew soon.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
To be your friend too.
Speaker 10 (30:18):
When you find out what I do and how I
do it, how you know, I know you like investing.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
I do, And the one thing I'm not that great
at is investing in stocks, And I know that's something
that is what you specialize in because I do a
lot of things that are more long term, like you know,
for retirement. I got my IRA, I have my four
oh one K, I have my apps that I use.
I use public, I use Acorns. That's that way. But
(30:42):
I haven't really been very aggressive, and I have a
stockbroker that kind of GUIs me through things nice.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
But we're gonna talk about all that.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Yes, first, just give me some background. How did you
get into stocks?
Speaker 10 (30:54):
I bumped into the information while I was on a
crash course sending myself to a federal prison system. I
had a twenty two year sentence. I did five years
and nine months. Long story short, I won my pill
and came home, which is very hard to do in
the FEDES. But a lot of the guys that are
in there that I ran into were in there for
insider trading and different things like that. Intelligent, but went
(31:18):
the exactly so the information was there.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
Right now, I'm with my guy Mana, who invests in
the stock market, and we're talking to Santino Drew, who
is a trader and educator, entrepreneur and also host of
his own podcast, The Real Money Experience. When did you
first start doing it for real like investing? When did
you start investing in the stock market?
Speaker 10 (31:39):
Well, I came home in twenty eighteen. I was working
at the Hilton as a prep cook and I saved
my little check and I couldn't wait to test it.
I had got a TD Ameritrade account. At the time.
TD had think or Swim. Now Charles Schwab's own stink
or Swim, which is a platform that you can trade
stock options on. Think or Swim has this tool called
(32:00):
paper trading where they let you get a virtual account
and then you could practice trading. And it's actually real trading,
but no money's being transacted. That's the only thing. So
my first trade with money was on a company called
bookings dot Com. I spent five hundred dollars on it.
Mind you, I only got paid eight hundred dollars. He
was like, I'm going on this day. This day, the
(32:22):
S and P was up like one hundred and ten points.
That's a big, huge green candle if you're looking at
the at.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
The chart, right, So you put yeah, I got it
that day, and it went up.
Speaker 10 (32:33):
So the five hundred dollars turned to like seventy five
seventy two hundred dollars something like that.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
I lost that money.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Yeah, I lost that money. Did you lose it?
Speaker 1 (32:41):
I lost it?
Speaker 10 (32:42):
Kept trading, I really, even though I did all that
study and I still didn't know what I know that right,
you learn your crack, you.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Gotta get on the journey and it gets bumpy.
Speaker 10 (32:52):
Well, if you study stocks for long term investment.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
You will succeed for long term.
Speaker 10 (32:57):
But if you're studying options one or two times and
then you go try to execute what it is that
you just study, you're probably gonna fail more than you're not. Okay,
that's like there's gonna be a lot of quarterbacks that
go to the league, right, but.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
Anybody ain't gonna be Tom Brady.
Speaker 10 (33:11):
So we all get this misconception that everybody that talks
to us about trading options actually know how to do it.
And that's what's dangerous because in the back of their
mind they know it's sort of an investment, but it
can very quick turn into gambler. I'm just gonna say
this to the people. This is something now, if not ever,
that you need to be on this Like right now,
(33:33):
we got something gonna call the Trump Rally Challenge because
people need to understand how important it is while he's
in office. Okay, we already spilt the milk. We cried
already about who's in office. Now what are we gonna
do because we got him for four years. Well, I'm
gonna tell you the first thing you need to do
is get you some stocks.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Santino Drew is here.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
We're talking about his journey from setback to come back,
his journey to financial freedom.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
We have more with him when we come back. It's
way up.
Speaker 10 (34:00):
I had a dream of politically wealthy, and I don't
mind sharing my wealth dog.
Speaker 5 (34:04):
Getting you straight financially mentally and physically. This is Wealth
Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
What's up as Way Up with Angela ye and Happy
Wealth Wednesday. My guy Mano is here with me and
he bought a guest by Santino Drew for Wealth Wednesday.
He's a trader and educator and entrepreneur. He also has
his own podcast, The Real Money Experience. What's your best
advice for someone to educate themselves on the stock market?
Speaker 10 (34:29):
The first issue with people is they don't do it.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
Just do it.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
You get it like a robin hood, get an e trade, get.
Speaker 10 (34:35):
A robbin hole, you get an e trade. You can
use Acorn like she did. And it depends on your lifestyle, right.
You may not have a bunch of time to be
a trader, right or learn how to be a.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Trade like to day trade and figure out how the
people a.
Speaker 10 (34:46):
Lot of time and this market has so many has
such a huge plethora of things that you can do.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
I like to just set it like I have amount
of money that transfers into my Acorn's account every month,
and I can I can see like it's over time,
over the past couple of years.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
It's you know, I can see it's up. It's up
about ten.
Speaker 10 (35:07):
That's awesome because look, you did that while you were asleep.
That's what building wealth is. Yeah, you're not building wealth
if it's not transpiring while you're sleep. The student amount
I helped construct a portfolio. You hit me and said, yo,
I need to sell Netflix. I have a debt I
have to pay. I said, well, why would you sell
your Netflix when you own? How much is your portfolio worth?
(35:27):
And he told me. I said, look this up SBLOC.
I said, that's a securities back line of credit. I said,
what's your brokerage again? Because I helped him say up,
but I'll be forgetting he said IBKR.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
I said, oh my god.
Speaker 10 (35:40):
Not only is IBKR giving out some of the best
interests on dormant money, meaning money that you're not even investing. People.
You can just set the money in a brokerage account
and it's the same as having a high yield savings account.
So now you don't even have to purchase stock. This
is what you call dormant money. It's not being invested
because a lot of these brokerages have bill paying services too. Okay,
(36:02):
you can set up retirement for you, so it's interactive brokers.
It's an IBKR, it's called Interactive Brokers. It's a broker's firm.
It used to be really prestigious and sophisticated. People needed
like ten fifteen thousand dollars opening account. Now it's not
like that. And that's the good thing about robbin Hood.
Robbin Hood chaccess for everybody. Yes, yeah, Robin, that's the
(36:22):
great thing about what he did. He came along and said, listen,
I'm not charging any fees for transactions.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
And that put all Wall Street on notice.
Speaker 10 (36:32):
If you don't have the where it all to open
a Robbinhood account, which you should because you have a phone.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
You know what cash app.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
I know you're using that get you some stocks they
have crypto.
Speaker 10 (36:42):
Yes, yeah, these are the years to get us some
stocks because I'm telling you now, the stock market was
designed to do nothing else but go up. The better
we know, the better.
Speaker 4 (36:51):
We do statistically, numbers wise, the stock market outperforms real estate.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
Well, listen, I know we got to go. This was great, though.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
I feel like, you know, we'll have some more conversations
about Definitely I need to learn more about it, and
I know may No does too.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Because I'm learning as I'm going. People can find you online.
Speaker 10 (37:06):
Yes, Wise Money Academy on Instagram, the Real Money Experience
on YouTube. Also, I got some free resources. Just click
the link Trump Rally Challenge dot com you could get
some free resources. I actually got eight hours worth of
video footage of me teaching stocks options and how to
restop charts, which will tell you how to determine where
(37:27):
the price is going.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
All right, well, thank you. We appreciate you so much.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
I appreciate you too. Thank you.
