You don't have it? What's your DMS look like? Let

I'm gonna take a look. See if there's anybody in
there we want to shine a light on.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
It's an important week because it's Valentine's say, some people
hate Valentin's Day and feel like it's nothing. Navy, you're single,
you have plans because you know that's oh so you
do have a Valentine's D date.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
All right, all right, all right, what we.
Speaker 2 (01:09):

I'm turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Shine a light on, Shine a light on.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
It's time to shine a light on.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
All right, it's way up with Angela yee. I'm here
with my guy Kyle Anthony from the Neighborhood Talk Yes, yes, yes,
And last night I was actually at an event in
Brooklyn at this place called Brick. It's all about the arts,
and I want to shine a light on the president
of Brick. That's Wes Jackson, and he has over twenty
years of experience as an entrepreneur, as an innovator. He's
(01:51):
worked in the music business prior to all of this.
But what I love is that in that space they
do a lot of things for the culture.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
There's a lot of programming that go there.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
I've literally been to Brick and done something for HIV awareness,
but then I've also been there for VP Records, celebrating
their anniversary with a dance hall concert, and yesterday I
was there moderating a panel with people who are running
for mayor of New York City. So I just love
a space that can be kind of molded into whatever
it needs to be.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
And it's all about community and coming together.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
And for him as a leader of that, you know,
it's just amazing to see the work that he's doing
and we're in talks to definitely do more when it
comes to He also founded the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Oh you doing a lot? Yeah, yeah, well, shout out
to him.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Look it feels like we need to do more, but
a lot, So yeah, shout out to you, Wes, and
thanks for a great night last night. As the president
of Brick Arts and Media. Now, who do you guys
want to shine a light on? Eight hundred two nine
to fifty one fifty Oh it's our guy, Mello Melo?
Who you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 1 (02:52):
First of all, I want to stand a light on
my mother. You feel me?
Speaker 4 (02:55):
Happy birthday, Mama bu Lai.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
You feel me.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
I'm almost feel her age because you don't look at it.
Speaker 6 (02:59):
But I'm also going to kind of light on y'all
as well, because y'all just hit two years for me.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Oh yeah, well yeah it's two years old. Yeah, that's right,
sat the Hall of Famer. You well on your wave there, Well,
thank you.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
You know my show is over here walking on his own,
standing up on his own, you know, doing all the things.
That's all right, Well, thank you, mellow. You've been a
long time supporter, so I appreciate.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
You always and forever. Okay, that's all right.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Well that would shine a light eight hundred and two
ninet two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
you could leave a message. And when we come back,
ye tea time and we got to see what is
the aftermath from super Bowl for Kendrick Lamar. You know,
they don't get paid for the halftime show.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
They don't, but they get exposure. Yeah, and it's worth it.
We'll talk about it.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
It's way up, they says in the rooms from industry shade.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
To all of gosp out send Angela's.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Speeling that yet.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
It's way up at Angela Yee featuring Kyle Anthony from Say.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Let's Get into some Et.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Super Bowl has hit one hundred and twenty six million viewers.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
It's the most watched ever. That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
So last year was the most west ever, but now
this year top last year, So it's a two percent
improvement from last year.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
So yeah, shout out to them for that.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
We were talking about this behind the scenes, and it's
because there's a lot of people who can watch it
on a lot of different platforms.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
So I was shocked about you can watch it on TV.
He's not playing no games, do you hear me? Kenjrick Lamar.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
By the way, his stream surge after the Super Bowl
halftime show, Not Like Us increased by four hundred and
thirty percent on Spotify. We were talking about the black
guy that was explaining to the older white guy next
to him what was going on while they were watching
the halftime show, like this song.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Is about X Y and Z Scissors.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Streams also increased by eighty percent, and the entire top
five on Apple Music was held by Kendrick's songs.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
The follow morning, getting that paper and.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
We saw on Apple Music's page they just posted they
not like Us.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
They're not like us, like a hundred times.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Dang, isn't Drake supposed to be like real tight with
Apple Music? He kind of helped with the launch of
Apple Music. But you know everybody just turned him back
on Oh you feel Drake? Yeah, I'm a Drake fan.
You know are you a Kenjack fan too?
Speaker 6 (05:20):
I have to be because I'm from La. So I
feel like, I, you know, gotta say I rock with
Kenjick or I'm gonna be on the outs.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Well you could like both. Rite you don't got it.
You don't got to pick a side. Yeah, you're right, okay, right?
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Kenjach Lamar is only.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
It's also only the second artist with a double diamond song,
and that's for Humble. It's officially sold twenty million units
post Malone and Swaylee did that with Sunflower, so who knew?
Speaker 7 (05:47):
Right?
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (05:48):
And I also heard that Sizza added some drop some
songs as well, which brings her so so wes to
forty two.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
At this point, she should have just dropped.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
I know you said, They're like, why should I just
do a whole nother album? She just keeps on, adding on.
But we do have a snippet of that Joony song
says it featuring Don Tolliver.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
I've been worked out like Clinton, that is coming my life.
I guess that.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
I guess that's a little bit, all right. I was
telling you guys, I was like, does this have to
do with Joni Mitchell? And everybody in here said, who
is Joni Mitchell?
Speaker 1 (06:37):
You guys.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
The reason I know Jonny Mitchell is because of c tip.
He had a song with her Gottill is Gone, and
so I was like, oh, it's this. It just made
me think of that. But you know, this was something
that she had teased a while ago, and she had
posted a screenshot of her mother's review of this song.
Her mother said, sitting her eyes closed, rocking from side
to side to your music, I was surprised and touched
by the sweet homage to your ranny. Love it and
(07:00):
love you, and thank you so much for stepping out
of what's comfortable to share with me.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
I feel so special excited for you. I was cute.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
That's what it's all about. Your family loving it, your
mom loving it. All right, Well, that is your Yet
when we come back, we have about last night. That's
where we discussed what we did last night.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Man. I had a I had a great night last night.
You was with the mayor and I was not with
the mayor. Well you was. You was in his presence.
He was not there running familiar, but he definitely did
not show up. He had a lot going on. But
we'll talk about that.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
There's a lot of people running familiar this year in
New York, but Eric Adams was not there.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
It's way up n So about last night, Yes, I
went down. It's way up at Angela.
Speaker 7 (07:44):
Yee.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
I'm here Kyle Anthony from my neighbor And I still
want to say, not just from the neighborhood Talk, but
the founder and CEO of the neighborhood Talk.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Kyle Yes, the CEO of the Boss, The Boss, So,
what did you do last night? Because you're you know,
you're in New York work for a few days, you've
been outside. Well, you know, yesterday was a pretty chill
night for me. Y'all went and got some Popeyes and
you know, hit Mary j Popeyes.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Though I'm not gonna lie, I feel like I might
have had Popeyes last night too.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
You can never go wrong with some chicken strips.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Now, one thing I will say that happened last night.
You know our mayor in New York City, Eric Adams,
they're talking about dropping these charges against him, right, and
so people are saying, I saw a former federal prosecutor
Jeffrey Tuben is saying, this is one of the most
bizarre situations that I have ever seen. And the Justice
(08:43):
Department under the new Trump administration dismissed the case against him,
but they said, we don't know whether he's guilty or not,
but we want him to fight crime. I mean, this
is what happens in authoritarian countries. He was facing counts
of conspiracy to commit wirefraud, wirefraud, solicitation of contribution by
a foreign national, and bribery, and they said they reached
(09:04):
this conclusion without assessing the strength of the evidence or
the legal theories on which the case is based.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Now, oddly enough, yesterday I was.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Actually moderating a panel a cultural and arts mayoral forum
because this is an election year for the mayor here
in New York City, and it's a crowded field, and
we do have ranked choice voting, so you can pick
like first, second, third choice and all of that, and
so we did have seven of the candidates. Mayor Adams
was not there, but he is supposed to be running
(09:34):
again for mayor, but he wasn't there, And this news
actually broke while we were in the middle of having
this forum, and so there are people from the administration,
the Controller, Brad Lander, who's been up here before, who's
running for mayor, who actually still work their senators who
are running for mayor as well, so they work closely
with the mayor. And so I feel like everybody had
(09:57):
very negative things to say about it. Eric Adams, I mean,
they were talking about how they just came from a meeting,
and he was basically telling people not to push back
against what Trump was saying and to cooperate with what's
going on with the migrant situation in New York City
because that's been a big issue right now, and you
know that situation was also something that was brought up
(10:19):
during this mayoral forum. What do we do when it
comes to this is a sanctuary city, and sanctuary cities
have certain laws to protect human beings to make sure
that they're treated in that way. People aren't just scared
to go to school, scared the ice is going to
show up at church scared. You know, kids are literally
not going to class because they don't know what's going
to happen. You know, a lot of schools have seen
(10:40):
attendance drop sharply, sharply because of this and people are
nervous and so you know, these are just all situations.
That's an ongoing thing, so it's going to be interesting
to see what happens. But yes, that was my about
last night, and we'll keep on talking about this. But
one thing we also want to talk about is deon
Ja Sanders and Dac Now. Today we were actually supposed
(11:01):
to interview dage Loaf and Jack Queese for Lip Service,
but for some reason that got canceled, and I do
want to say I had a feeling it was going
to get canceled because things haven't been going so smooth.
Deanga Sanders is not happy, I guess about this whole
daged Loaf and Jack Quee's album. She says they're faking
a relationship in order to promote this project together. And
(11:21):
I want to ask you, guys, we'll talk about that
more later. Have you ever not been able to bring
your partner around work events? Has there ever been a
time when you were like, Nope, you can't come. Because
sometimes that your significant other. You want to be able
to bring them out. You want to be able to
know that they can like schmooze around the room, back
accordingly and be supportive Has that ever happened where you're like,
I can't even bring you out amongst.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Well, I had somebody for that long for me to,
you know, make that decision. But I mean I wouldn't
bring my partner around unless we were you know.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
I mean they do have a kid together, right, Yeah,
so you should you should bring her around, but I
mean we might be acting up.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
We want to see what you guys think. Has that
ever happened to you? You dated somebody but they couldn't
come around your work events? Eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty Call us up again. That's eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty. Have you dated someone
and could not bring them around any type of work events?
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Is way up? Oh it's no turn me up here
we go upgain. This is way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
It's way up at Angela Yee. Kyle from the Neighborhood
Talk is joining me today. Hey morning, my neighbor day two,
and we're talking about have you ever dated somebody who
was you just couldn't bring them around work friends? This
is from dean Ja Sanders and Jack Cueis she posted
stop asking me why I'm not around I'm not allowed
to be around them because Days would feel uncomfortable if
(12:41):
his fiance is there. Jack Queis and Dave's love has
this Valentine's Day album dropping, and I guess she not
allowed to come to the video shoot.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
She just can't be around.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
Not that the video shoot I can understand, but as
far as selling like a package to you know, make funny.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Girl, let them you know, fake you, let them get
them going.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
But I do think she should be able to come
to the shoot unless you know, are y'all faking it
or is there?
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Is it non gral? Yeah? Yeah, I mean it's a
hard thing to say.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
I will say I haven't dated anybody that I felt
was crazy since I was probably just graduated, since like
my senior year in college.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
After that, I have rules.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
If I can't bring you around my work friends, then
that's a red flag to me, like if because I
know I know me and I know I don't do
anything disrespectful.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
So if you have an issue, that's your problem. What
about you?
Speaker 6 (13:31):
Yeah, I'm the same way, Like, if I can't bring
you around, then what are we doing together?
Speaker 1 (13:36):
I'm not trying to hang out with you just in
the house.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Well, let's see what you guys think. Kim, are you
unable to bring your partner around work stuff?
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Yeah, definlutely. Somebody spokes to be another female. It could
be a form like oh you must be.
Speaker 8 (13:51):
Messing around with them, or you know, it's just an attitude.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
At the same time, it's just I couldn't mix the two.
You don't have to leave a home.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Who how did that work out for you? Oh yeah, honestly,
that's a red flag, like.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
You can't do that.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Yeah, bag at that more.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Yeah, don't mess up the bag? All right? But thank you?
Speaker 7 (14:11):
All right?
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Hey Terina, Hey, how are you good? How you doing?
Speaker 9 (14:16):
I'm doing well?
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Thank you.
Speaker 9 (14:17):
I love this question here.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
It sounds like you had some issues with it with
somebody you couldn't bring around.
Speaker 9 (14:23):
So I was in Boston, I was going under another name,
and I was hoping to Evans and my husband at
the time when I would bring him around, he's kind
of awkward. And my whole responder did not go for
being the married housewife type.
Speaker 5 (14:39):
It was kind of bad.
Speaker 9 (14:40):
I just started going out places by myself and not
wearing my wedding rings.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Why are you marrying?
Speaker 9 (14:50):
Like flirting and everything no one, no, no, what's not
embarrassed by him, but just not for the industry.
Speaker 8 (14:57):
He was.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
He was not comfortable around that. Anytime you gotta start
wearing your wedding ring.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
I don't know about that one.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
But I loved him, I really loved him, and I
was faithful.
Speaker 9 (15:08):
There was a lot of flirting, of.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Course, it's flirting, cheating kind.
Speaker 9 (15:12):
Of yeah, absolutely not.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
He started flirting.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Listen, you know, but this I feel like you must
have been you know. And when he mentioned you were
doing when he mentioned you were doing that, right, I
was not.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
No, no, no, I worked. So you kind of chose
that over your husband. No, I hope he's listening. He's
almost some accountability, man. He just wants some accountability.
Speaker 7 (15:43):
No, no, no, no no.
Speaker 9 (15:44):
It was honestly other issues.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Well, you living probably got me in hot water. Sounds
like he was a good mess.
Speaker 9 (15:57):
Someone all the time.
Speaker 8 (16:01):
But thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
See we can be toxic too, right, All right, Well,
thank you guys for calling, And you can still leave
a message at eight hundred and two nine two fifty
one fifty are on the iHeartRadio app. You can tap
that microphone and leave a message that way. And when
we come back your y e T. Marlon Wayams versus
Soldier boy. I never thought I'd be saying that. You
never thought I'd be saying that.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yeah, go with that. Well that's a weird versus Yeah,
why are they arguing?
Speaker 3 (16:28):
But it's way up the news news. This in the
news that relates to you. These stories are flying under
the radar.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
It's way up at the angela Ye Kyle, the owner
and CEO and founder of the Neighborhood Talk, is guest
hosting today. All right, and we've been talking about eggs
a lot behind the scenes. I think I feel like
that was part of like campaign promises the cost of
eggs is gonna go down. Well, Costco and Trader Dos
are limiting how many eggs people can buy. There's a
(16:58):
shortage caused by the Avian flu, and so due to
ongoing issues with the supply of eggs, they're limiting those purchases.
So I saw a lot of people like trying to
stock up on eggs.
Speaker 6 (17:10):
That's crazy. Like when I go to the Star Norment,
just give me one little carton. I don't know they
was our here buying more than.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Three last week.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
We told you guys, waffle House is adding a fifty
cent charge for every egg that it sells, and they're
continuously monitoring egg prices and they will adjust or remove
the surcharge as market conditions allow.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
So they say it's hard to believe this is reality.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
And Valentine's Day we talked about Valentine's Day is coming up.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
What day is that Friday? It's on Friday. Yeah, I'll
be at All Star weekend.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
But chocolate prices are up twenty percent this Valentine's Day.
Cocoa prices have hit a record high, So get ready
for that. And that means that if your person buys
you some chocolate, love they.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Really love you. They buy me some chocolate, they really
love you.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Hopefully the prices go down by by the time it's
not to buy the chocolate Easter bunnies all right. And
Elon Musk, while the rest of the world is suffering financially,
he's leading an offer to buy chat GPT's parent company
for nearly one hundred billion dollars.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Don't get that man, nothing else.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
No, he already done, did everything he did on X
and now he wants to buy chat GPT. So every
time you try to get some information or ask for something.
It's basically he'll be able to give you whatever information,
whether or not it's true. But you know, he's been
feuding with the open Ai CEO Sam Autman. He's filed
a number of legal complaints against that company because a
lot of people use open ai and they saying that
(18:37):
leadership has misrepresented open ai as a philanthropy.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
A lot of different things going on right now with that.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
I feel like this should be such a conflict, like
if you want to work for the president but also
own chat GPT but also own ex it just.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Feels like such a conflict. It's like, what are you
up to? All right?
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Well, that is your under the radar and now you know,
we do have the way up mixed at the top
of the hour, and like we said, Valentine's Day is
around the corner. So many things that we need to
talk about today, like what are your guys plans? Somebody
I know is not going to All Star because they're
in a relationship and his girlfriend just simply doesn't trust
him enough to allow him to go.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Do you think that that should interfere with work?
Speaker 2 (19:17):
That's a difficult thing, Like if you got to work,
but then you know, uncheated before, So now I can't
go to work because I gotta make up.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Anyway, we'll talk about it. It's way up. She's like
to talk like they Angel Jean like they and.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Jeli jee Man, She's spilling it all this is yet, Well,
it's way up at Angel like, Yeah, I'm here with
my guy Kyle from the neighborhood.
Speaker 7 (19:38):
Talk.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Good morning, my neighbor. Did you get a solitude? Okay,
good see, good for you. Let's get into some yet Now.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Pharrell had a musical that was based on his childhood
in Virginia, but now it's not gonna happen. According to Variety,
the film was shut down producers and the director decided
in post production that the collective footage did not live up.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
To its developed conceits.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
They said they got in the editing room and decided
there was not a path forward. So they spent about
twenty million dollars on it, and that's gonna all be
absorbed by Universal. It was also an early post production,
so it wasn't fully edited, so there's no chance.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
That it will be finished, so it was given boring basically.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
I guess, yeah, I don't know what ended up happening.
But you know, I did go see the movie that
he did, the Lego movie.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
How was that? It was really good.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
I enjoyed it. I thought it was very different. I
don't think that did so well in the box office either.
It made three point eight million dollars domestically during opening
weekend against the budget of sixteen million. But it does
have great ratings, and I'm sure it'll at some point
recoup everything, all right now.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Diddy is being sued for.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Allegedly raping a male street performer back in twenty twenty two,
another John Doe, who says that Diddy orally raped him
and sexually assaulted him after spiking his drink. According to
this allegation, he said that he was driven to a
private home after he was approached while he was singing
and playing guitar on the street by a man who
(21:10):
claimed to be a talent scout for Diddy invited him
to a ditty party. He said that Diddy asked him
if he wanted to see his jewelry collection, took him
into a private room. He said he suddenly felt drowsy
after having a drink and slightly euphoric, and he said
he only had one drink, by the way, and then
that's when he said that happened. So Tony Buzby again
is the Texas attorney who is representing one hundred and
(21:31):
twenty of these alleged ditty victims.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
And that's the guy who is coming after jay Z. Right,
he dropped those charges. Oh he did, Yeah, those were
dropped already.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Okay, all right, Well, Cardi b is saying that her
uncle was deported and also was at the same time
talking about her discust for Trump at the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Here's what she said, Now, I really like him.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
No leak up in that.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Bring my uncle, grandma, my uncle to come back because
my uncle got deported. I got deported. Yep. I'm not
sure what's going on with that.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
But there's a lot of people who are going to
be upset when family members, people who they know and love,
when things like this happen.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Even people who are working. Yeah, I have friends tell
me that they knew people that were hide on the run.
I was like, what I mean, it's awful. Yeah, all right.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Usher sat down with Kiki Palmer and had a conversation
about that viral moment.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
She's a mother, not real.
Speaker 6 (22:31):
Responsible for how people choose to react to my experience
as an entertainer. I am not deliberately trying to do
anything that's going to rock anybody at home.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
I am not here to break up your home. I
am here to entertain you, my love.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
But yes, that's on her, baby. This is Kicky Palmer.
So he says he has no responsibility for that drama.
Some people did know how to, like, you know, tone
it down. He came and they were like.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Mm hmmm, well we see the outfit she had on.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
That was like, well that was her ex criticized her
over the dress that she wore to the Usher concert.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
She did have a viral moment during that concert. And
you know, but I was like, look, I ain't got
I'm not in it. I'm just easy to get them
views up doing my job all right now.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Cameron was talking about this whole Little Wayne and Jewel Santana.
I can't feel my safe project that never came out,
And I remember this, it was very highly anticipated, definitely
could have changed some trajectories.
Speaker 7 (23:32):
But here's what he said, bust of times you was
supposed to put out a project with Little Wayne and
it didn't happen. And then it was like Kim don't
want the project to come on. Kim didn't want the
project to come out, and that's not what happened. What
happened was Universal told Death Jib well, Little Wayne still
didn't give us his album yet. So if y'all want
to put this project out, we're taking ninety five percent,
(23:54):
and Death Jib y'all could take five percent.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
She shy five. That's kind of like, no, you can't
put it out, right.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
But they also were waiting for a project to come out,
and labels will do that, you know. I remember working
for Wu Tang and JIZZT had a song out were
old dirty Bastard on it, and they were waiting for
him to show up to do some stuff for the label,
and the label stopped him from doing something with his
own cousin.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
They were like, you know, he was on a lecture.
They were like, nope, we can't do it. They won't
clear him. All right, Well that is your yee t.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
When we come back, it's time for ask Yee and
Kyle eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. If
you need advice from us, we got you. That's what
we're here for. It's way up you are.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
Going to everybody since, whether it's relationship with career advice,
Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
You should know.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
This is ask gee, what's up? His way up at
Angela Yee. I'm here with my guy Kyle Anthony from the.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Neighborhood Talk what's up neighbors? And it's time for ask yee.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is the
number we're gonna help people out right.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Yes, we're going to charge all right. Today's caller wants
to remain anonymous. Hey, what's up?
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Question?
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Okay, So I've been married twice, but I met this
guy who was really sweet and loving and everything that
I've ever wanted in a man. We've been dating two months.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
We decided that we're getting married.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
One of my best friends is saying, I understand, but
you just make the guys you don't.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Know him that well.
Speaker 9 (25:18):
I don't understand her concern. Don't get me wrong, but.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
I get a little haity type vibe, you know what
I'm saying. She's been with her man a really long time.
She told me a lot of bad things that have
happened in their relationship, and I don't want.
Speaker 9 (25:29):
To look at it like that place.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
I've made her I made of honor, and she gladly accepted.
Speaker 9 (25:32):
It's just I'm getting this this bad vibe from her.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
And what I'm wanting to know now is do I
not make her my maid of honor if she's not
one hundred percent behind me with this?
Speaker 1 (25:43):
If this is your girl now, I wouldn't make her
I made of honor. I mean it's about to be.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
This isn't about to be your third marriage though, and
you have only known this guy for two months? Yes,
I think if one of my friends met a guy
and they told me it has been two months they
getting married, I would want to be happy, but I
would also be like, all right, you know, just out
of concern. I just want to make sure you're good.
It's this really the decision that you want to make.
Have you told her that, like, listen, you can't bring
(26:10):
your baggage into what I have going on. And I
will say if she doesn't agree with what it is
that you're doing, she's not the right maid of honor
you don't.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
Want to have?
Speaker 4 (26:18):
Yeah, you know, I mean I would like to take
a still come as a friend. I'm super excited out
about that, but I'm like, if you're not behind me
one on this, then why am I choosing you.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
It's gonna mess up your friendship and.
Speaker 9 (26:30):
I don't want to mess the friendship out.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
But she just every time we talk it's in doubt.
This keeps coming up, and I'm like, I understand, I
may be the same without the other way, but you
never come at me like I'm really happy for you,
so glad you met this guy. It's never been it's
always this.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Let her know, be like, look, if you're not behind this,
this isn't the type of energy I can bring in
my new life with.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
I love you, I want you to come.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
I feel bad that you've been going through the things
that you're going through, but I just can't do this
with you.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
And I hope you understand that because this is about you.
It's your wedding. It's about you. Yeah, get her feeling exactly, to.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Get her feeling, encourage her to get some help for
herself and do what she needs to do. But you're
celebrating this is your day. I do understand genuine concern
from somebody who's like, girl has only been too you know,
I understand that. But at the end of the day,
this is your life, your relationship, as long as this
man is treating you amazing.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
If it's what you want to do, you know your
friends should be supportive. Just let her sit in the
front row. Don't let her be the bride.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
Yeah yeah, no the loops all alone when I don't
want to look over on a loops all alone.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Yeah. Well, listen, you better make this work. You don't
want her coming back. Tell you so right, exactly what?
Speaker 5 (27:46):
Trust me?
Speaker 4 (27:47):
I got so many natures right now, But it doesn't
matter because I know what we're doing.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
He knows what we're doing.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
And God is the third strand and that's all it
really matters for real?
Speaker 1 (27:55):
All right? When are you getting married? Like real?
Speaker 5 (27:57):
Soon?
Speaker 4 (27:58):
July? We're getting mad in July.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Damn you're not playing and you send us an invite? Yeah,
I'm trying. What's coming?
Speaker 8 (28:03):
Last?
Speaker 4 (28:04):
Trust me, I'm about to sing out information. I'm going
right on them.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
I got a DJ. I got a DJ for you?
You ready? Maybe? All right? Okay? All right, well, good luck,
thank you God.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Okay, you know what, Kyle, Let's ask everyone else. If
your friend was getting married and you didn't think it
was gonna work, would you tell them or would you say,
you know what, I support my friend no matter what.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. Y'all know
this just happened to somebody. My girl GD on lipservice.
We'll talk to her.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Eight hundred two fifty one fifty is way up?
Speaker 7 (28:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:37):
What's hey?
Speaker 7 (28:38):
You don't want to know my name?
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Way up with Angela? What's up?
Speaker 2 (28:43):
As way up at Angela? Yeah, I'm here at my
got Kyle, my neighbor, and we just did it, ask ye.
And our listener was concerned that her best friend was
she felt like hating on the fact that she's getting married.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
She knew the guy for two months, met him online.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
This is gonna be her third marriage, right, So given
that into perspective, it does feel like, Okay, I can
see why your friend's concerned. But then she put a
little more into it. And now I want to ask
you if you had a friend who was getting married
to somebody they met in two months, right, yeah, and
maybe you didn't think it was gonna work out, would
you tell them or would you just be supportive?
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Oh? No, I would tell them, but I will also
be supportive as well.
Speaker 6 (29:22):
Okay, I'm gonna tell you, Let girl, I don't think
you should marry Billy down the street because he broke.
But if you want to walk down that out like
you know, I'm gonna be down there with You're supporting you.
But right I just want you to know, like if
it go left, I did tell you.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
And just know that wedding ain't gonna have no top
shelved liquor. Okay, if any liquor at all. You might
have a paid bar if Billy's broke. But anyway, if
that was me, I've had that situation. Shout out to
my girl Gigi from lip Service if you were. I
don't know if you know about this, but she met
a guy and got engaged like right away.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Jiji got engaged very quickly.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Three days she came like I saw her, and then
the next time I saw she was engaged to somebody
we'd never heard of.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
She were engaged. We did see the jeweler, but I
never got the ring. It only lasted sixty five days.
All right, that's a run though.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Two months, and I will say she was planning to
get married. She knew where and everything.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
I was going to be there. Were you going to
be the brideman? No, no, no, I don't.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
It wasn't, but I was going to be supportive because
my friends are grown. If they make a decision, I'm
going to be there. As long as that man is
not abusing you or doing nothing like that, I can
support it because worst case scenario, it doesn't work.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
That's how I look at it. You can all right, Well,
what do you guys think? Kia? Would you tell your
friend if you didn't agree with them getting married?
Speaker 4 (30:35):
I probably wouldn't say it, like just don't marry him,
but I would definitely be concerned because, like, how many
times did this one has to be her maid of honor?
You're in your third marriage.
Speaker 9 (30:44):
Maybe I would definitely be conferned.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Well, one was at nineteen, she said, when was at nineteen?
We can excuse that one. Yeah, she was young, Okay,
one she say like forty, her second one was at forty.
But would you be able to sport somebody unconditionally?
Speaker 8 (31:02):
Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
I will definitely still be supporting my friend, but she
will hear my concerns first. If you're still going with it,
I'm with you one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Okay, I'm with that. Just hear my concerns, but I'm
gonna still support you. So would you accept being the
maid of honor with those concerns or would you just
you know, just show up?
Speaker 4 (31:20):
Okay, So now knowing that she's she was married at
nineteen and being that forty, so we stressed out. But still,
you know, so I would definitely beat her made a
lot of you know, in that sense, but who might
Let's try to stress this out a little bit, make
sure he's the one.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
I don't know what she has till July.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
Do ourselves a live so you know I'm with you regardless.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Okay, seek friendship. Thank you for calling.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
You're welcome.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Hey Jennifer, Hey, how are you okay?
Speaker 7 (31:51):
How you doing?
Speaker 5 (31:52):
I'm good?
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
What do you think about supporting somebody who's getting married?
But maybe you don't believe in that actual relationship.
Speaker 5 (32:00):
About it is is that these females are desperate out here.
That is just taking your time. I think the friend
is just trying to give her some good advice and
she's not trying to hear it. Because these women, you know,
that D word is a powerful thing, so that's what's
on their mind. So at this point I just think
that you know, she's just trying to give us some
good advice, and she everybody always thinks somebody's hating on them.
(32:22):
Nobody's hating on them. Just move tread lightly.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
Okay, it wasn't hate. But now with all that being said,
would you be the maid of honor?
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (32:31):
Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (32:32):
Okay, well she you know this is her.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
It's not about that. I'm giving you my advice. I'm
not hating on you. I'm there. We friends and we're
going to be friends. And if this is what you
choose to do, this is what you choose to do.
But I'm just trying to just let you know because
I've been in a relationship for a marriage a very
long time.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Okay, that's all. No hate there you said tread lightly desperate?
Speaker 5 (32:51):
No, desperately seeking Susie. How about that?
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Okay, I don't know, Jen, but thank you for calling. Yeah,
Jed Lightley desperately seeking Susan. All right, Well, thank you
guys for weighing in.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
It was interesting. Eight hundred and two nine fifty one fifty.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
You can always leave a message for last work because
guess what, that's what we're doing when we come back.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Last word. This is y'all show, and you get to
tell us exactly what you think? It's way up?
Speaker 3 (33:18):
Take up the phone, tapping to get your voice heard.
What the word is?
Speaker 1 (33:24):
He's the last word on Way Up with Angela. Ye, yes,
it's way up with Angela. Yee kyoe.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Yes, my neighbor guest hosting from the neighborhood talk.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
Yes, yes, yes, hey neighbors. What's going on? And how
did you feel about this? You guest hosted for two days?
I felt good?
Speaker 8 (33:42):
You know it.
Speaker 6 (33:43):
It's a big difference from you know, doing live television
because y'all be over here moving real quick.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
But I enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
It was it was a good experience. Yeah, we had
a good time and you okay, that's good, y'all gonna
let me come back faced back? How yes, when did
we get these serums? We could order them now.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
Uh, you guys order the SERMs now, Facebook, call dot
com and they ship. They should be getting them by
next month.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
Okay, Can I wait? For free? Can I wait?
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Don't tell people that what because we got to buy
in support, because then everybody else gonna be.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Like, well, I'm on my free. Well they're gonna have
to buy in Okay, yeah, right, his name is not
Cale and for free? Okay, and for me. But again,
thank you guys.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
You know this show is all about our listeners, and
we made a whole topic gotta ask ye that was
a real thing that we've all related to.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
So thank y'all again.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
As always, I'm going to All Star weekend to this
weekend getting ready for Valentine's Day.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
So you're going over to the hot weather I hope so.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
And then I got the Soabe Wine and Food Festival
coming up. I need to get out of this cold.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
This is too much. But again, this is your show,
so you guys have the last word.
Speaker 5 (34:52):
You guys are just talking about the girl that is
getting married in two months or friend is like, hey,
maybe that's not great.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
But she's supposed to be the smith.
Speaker 5 (35:00):
That's absolutely what a friend is supposed to do.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
What the girl that is.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
Getting married should do is be thank you.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
For your concern.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
I do want your support in this. And then if
the friend still isn't able to support, then not.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
For that sho.
Speaker 8 (35:13):
My name is for Quila, and I like to trying
to light out on my sister Yode. I've been staying
in this shelter. I graduated tomorrow from Koda. I just
wanna you know, just trying to light on her because
she's been amazing to help me get myself back on
track with life. I'm a bus operator, so I just
like a new job, like celebration of a new job.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Angela yee, is we up?
