news for those that are Jets getting up. The Jets

I have reviewed some numbers, we have some standalytics. Let's

be a super Bowl contender. And the start two and three,
I think, and especially this past week was a winnable game.

But to score just I mean the last two weeks
you scored nine points at seventeen points both in the losses.
You know, if anything, that the loss to Denver was
morning inexcusable. You lost to bow Knicks ten to nine.
But can I call it time? This week Minnesota is
comes to like.

Of their three losses, two of the three are on
the road at San Francisco, and then Minnesota came in
your building.

And beat you by six points. Like, what are we doing. Yeah,

the Jets, the Jets defense is first in points per drive,
first in EPA per play, third and success rate despite
playing the fourth most snaps over that stretch. Obviously the
offensive issues, but Robert Salo is a hell of a
defensive mind, and they were I mean, the defense has

been fine. I just it's an overreaction. And to bring
this back here to home. The Texans do play the
Jets up in New York and a couple at the
end of this month on Halloween night, Thursday night, October
thirty first, And so you wonder, I mean, I gotta think,
like just my instant reaction to his sentence, I don't
know if this makes the Jets better. Firing your head
coach like was Robert solid the problem my paying college,

like Nathaniel Hacking the offense of the problem.

And that's why many of you when the schedule came out,
oh my god, the Texans you gotta play a first
place schedule and look at the Jets. I'm just like, look,
it's a week the week league, Cause you get stuff
like this, you get owners it. Woody Johnson, I had
a chance to meet him and interview with him. I
spent a little time with Woody Johnson on a personal

level as I was contemplating employment with the Jets for
the two thousand and nine season. And we know that
US ambassador in the United Kingdom, huge supporter of Donald
Trump and the party and all of those things. So
I actually sit back and go, is this Woody Johnson

being embarrassed sitting with the what do you call them
patriarchs saying these yeah?

And he just overreacted And from a business standpoint, he's
just as Robert Sola is a good football coach. Now,
many people in the NFC feel some type of way
about Sala now being available because some wonder if the
forty Niners will Rehaller Robert Sala to help them fix
some of their defensive deficiencies. The Texans don't play the

Forda Niners in the regular season obviously, so if we
see San fran and they hire Robert Sla, that will
be in the super Bowl.

Everywhere Aaron Rodgers goes, stuff just happens like that. We
never see Aaron Rodgers just a quiet football season. There's
always stuff, whether it be the on field or off

Travis Kelsey played I saw the second half. What's the

You follow the Saints pretty closely there. I thought, even
without Rushie Rice because the game was in air ahead,
I just thought Xavier Worthy the way they would use him,
and to use the rest of those weapons. We had

We went back in time.

Yeah, Kareem Harlem, Travis Kelcey having his first good game
of the season.

The Chiefs are going to chief and I just trust
them to win no matter what the conditions are, if
they have Patrick Mahomes and the reasonable cast of characters.
Was this good Chiefs or did just Saints not live
up to the moment? They just I mean it was
it was what it was.

I think they the Saints defense that were not letting
them get deep on any big plays, so they they
tried to play everything underneath him. The Chiefs went, Okay,
we'll take everything underneath and they just had these long,
sustained drives of Kareem Hunt for five yards, Kareem Hunt
for six yards. Pat Mahomes dumps it off to Kelsey
for six I mean, it was just it was death
by uh thousand couns. Yeah, and so you know, it

is what it is. And then Derek Carr, the Saints
offense was so awesome in the first two weeks, and
it feels like the whole league got film on Click
Kubiak's offense and said, oh, we know what you're trying
to do here. And then the Saints offensive line has
been banged up too, so they just had issues. They
couldn't protect. And when you can't protect, you don't have
time to make plays down the field. And thus Alvin
Kamara went less than two and a half yards of

carry last night. Make them one dimensional. You can just
pin your ears back and rush car and that's kind
of what happened. I did think though, at one point
they get that big boy interception and big man rumbling back.

Yeah, you know they points off the ball if a kansaity.

Yeah, I mean, well, like out of the second half,
kan Sady misses the field goal, Saints punt, then they
get the interception and then the Saints go down and

all right, they're back within a field goal an instant.

like that was their window. You get to stop there.
They had a chance. But it was funny too. I
was watching the Vegas odds on this one coming into
the game. Everybody like Vegas was saying the Saints had
a chance on this one, like they were thinking it
was gonna be a three point game.

Kaylin Sanders, whose brother, if you watch the broadcast, is
big Man, wears number fifty in New Orleans. His brother,
also a big Man, is apparently a background dancer for
Taylor Swift, who was in the building. You know, did
you see the Bill Belichick on the Peyton Manning counting
the Manning cast. Belichick's hanging out and they paying to Taylor,

and Belichick's kind of like, can we just can we
get back to football? He had that look in his
face like he wanted no part of it. He made
some other comments that I won't share here because I
don't know how those are gonna be in.

Well, the end was really good to Archie came on
for the for the ending and he was just taking
shots at both the Manning brothers.

So I'm torn.

Do I like Buck and Ak when I think they're
fantastic together? I watched them I love I love the
Manning cast too, but I hate that you have to choose.

Yeah, I'm not a many cast guy. I appreciate they
do their thing. I treat the Mannings like I treat
a guy that's doing very well in the business. Talking
about Pat McAfee like, I respect what they do. Those
guys just aren't talking to me. I'd like to go
with a come around on McAfee. I didn't like him.
I've covering around them. Not my guy. Curious though, how
this game would have resulted. No, the Texas don't play

the Saints. I am curious had Derek Carr not gotten hurt,
what that would have done for their chances. Derek Carr
threw for a buck sixty five passer rating modest eighty nine,
two touchdowns, one interception, sack.

Just I treat this all week. There's two weeks of
this NFL season. He looked incredible. He gave them the
best chance to win. The moment Jake Hayner winning the game,
they were done well. No hater actually made some nice throws.

Well, but did you see some of the throws he made.

up at their place in evening games seven to fifteen
local time. Jeff Obrick, a defensive assistant, will take over
as the interim coach. That's a them problem. We have
a guy here, Gordon, that we're all very proud of,
and Demiko Ryans and his spirits were obviously extremely high

after a walk off win, and Demiko Ryans a lot
of close ballgames in his tenure. Both he and CJ. Stroud,
What did I see Houston eleven and three in games
decided by seven points or fewer in the Demiico Ryans CJ.

is something too knowing. Regardless of the circumstances, everybody on
the sideline stays engaged and it does become habit. You
expect for somebody to make a play when a game

get into the week how they play at home versus
how they play on the road. I believe CJ's like
nine and two in regular season home games, something like
four and five in regular season road games.

How about we just put somebody away. How about we
beat somebody by seven points some more? How about we
do that the last top play up or play down
to the competition. Well, they beat the Bejesus out of
Cleveland in that playoff game in the wildcard round.

Yeah, I mean, it'd be nice to see Dub is
a dub and I take that. I won't minimize that.
It is hard to win in the league. And we'll
take another look at the tape. But just right there
when we start there, just thinking about because we're here
from Demico in just a second, because he said something
about personnel that's gonna make people. It's got the Texans
social spaces and around the watering holes talking a little

bit about what this team can do going in the
week six. Do you take anything learning how to win
close ball games. The Texans have a habit of doing.

So, Yeah, I just the expectation for this season was
this team was was going to be better than the
last year's team. And I've just you know, again, I'm
not trying to downplay four and one is four and one.
It's the second best start in Texans history.

It's awesome.

But again, like it's like you played down to the
colt you played down to the Bears, you played down
to Jacksonville, but you got your bank by Minnesota. Play
up to Minnesota, you play it down, and then Buffalo
you you played well. The first half was awesome and
then the second half was kind of so.

I don't know what it is.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
I mean, it's just it's again, you survived, advance. You
just want to put a W in the column, and
that's awesome. But I just again like expectations for this
team coming this year, and keep this in minds. Then
it's it's it's only week six. There's gonna be more
injuries along the way. You know, you're you're surviving without tons.
We'll see if it's you know, just one week without
Nico Collins. We'll see Titus Howard will start because of

his hands. What if I told you, you know, Mixing
comes back but then misses six weeks after this. What
if I told you Dalton Schultz is gonna miss four weeks?
What Like, I'm just saying, like, as we go along,
I don't think they're just gonna suddenly get one hundred
percent healthy any more injuries that come along the way,
And I just you know, you keep playing with fire
in these close games, it's gonna come back to bite you.

I just want to see that that the team we
got so excited about in training camp and were like,
oh my god, you see what Stefan Diggs is doing.
Oh my god, this team they got offensive line is
fully healthy. Now like, where's that team? Like, well, we
see it's been good, knock great, we see it. We
just don't see the team you're talking about for four
quarters of football. And if I'm being honest, I'll do
this in another segment. We don't see that team in

the second.

Half of ball games.

The lack of adjustments by that offensive staff in particular
is something that I have to add ask what's going on.
It is noticeable that the points are not going on
the board in quarters three and four the way they
are one and two. Now to acknowledge what you said,
Gordyre about Yes, it's week six. Everybody's banged up across

the league. Football hurts, newsflash. How do you sustain the
game of attrition? Everybody's dealing with it. So just like
the Texas are gonna have some folks that aren't in
the lineup the Bills, they're gonna probably say, well, we
didn't have Taylor Rapp and we didn't have what's big
boy from the University of Houston, big Boy the d
tackle at Oliver. They didn't have it all Okay, got it,

Shakiro got it? Or the Texans didn't have Christian Harris
and they didn't have Titus Howard. And you know what
I mean, Like Nico leaves the game in the first quarter.
So you got injuries all over the place. That's part
of it's gonna happen. Can you play through it?

You mentioned and I have to acknowledge this if I'm
being fair. No, the product on the field, the process,
how the sausage is made for the Texans in twenty
four doesn't look as appetizing as we thought it might.
Need I remind you, however, this team was two and

three last season. Through five games. They are currently four
and one, the only foreign to one or four win
team in the AFC other than Kansas City who's now
five and zero. So this team, with a more difficult schedule,
is pacing better than they did a year ago.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
I'd argue their start to last year was more difficult
than this year so far. Like Baltimore, I mean, you
opened at Baltimore, that's as tough as it gets. You
played the Colts, who you know were okay, you played
the Colts to start this year too. You went to Jacksonville,
who at the time last year, at this time, Jacksonville
supposedly they were the bell of the ball. They were

supposed to be the AFC South cream of the crop.
And then he came home to play face Pittsburgh where
everybody was talking about TJ. Watt and that defense and
all that, and it took Keep in mind you those
two wins the week's three and four. Last year, you
blew out Jacksonville in their house, you beat them by
three touchdowns. You blew out Pittsburgh here at home, you
beat them thirty to six. It wasn't even close. JJ

Watt Ring of honor like That's where I say, like
the winds, like, yeah they were, they started two and
three last year, but the wins, you were like, that's
that gave you hope because you're like, look at how
dominant this team could be. Whereas this year it's like, yeah,
two point went over the Colts. Yeah little you know,
it's like all these little close wins for me, I.

Just look at this. Everybody said the schedule was more
difficult and the record is better. Well, but you haven't
gotten to them. But the hell I house part of
your sk The hell I haven't. The Minnesota Vikings are
undefeated in the NFC, that you're them in Buffalo, you're
too tough.

Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Buffalo is a good football team. They just took an
al on Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts. We all know how
those division games go. It was Week one, mostly everybody
was healthy and you were on the road. So that
is an Indianapolis team that could have very well. I've
been in the playoffs last year instead of the Texans.
Texas acre of their business Week eighteen in that same building.

So I started looking at this year's schedule going, I
think this year's schedule and what they've accomplished. Being for
one is more impressive than they did a year ago. Now,
somebody could push back and go, what's staying? Demico was
just getting warmed up, and CJ was a rookie and
there was a lot of new Bobby Floyd hadn't called
plays before fair but they have expectations this year, and

the schedule was more difficult.

I just wins, though.

I'm impressed, the dominant, impressive win of Jacksonville and the
dominant home win over Pittsburgh. What's their most impressive win
so far? I mean this week against Buffalo, Okay, wasn't pretty.

You got the win.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
But here's what you and I aren't seeing the same thing.
And I understand your point. You're looking at margin of victory.
I'm looking at They have double the amount of victories
this year than they did a year and I'm telling
you you've played weaker a week. I just don't understand that.
Y'all told me was the first play schedule. Oh it's coming.

You gotta go to Green Bay. You gotta go to
New York to play the Jets who just fired their coach.
You gotta play Detroit, you gotta go to Dallas. You
gotta play Miami, you gotta go to Kansas City, you
gotta play Baltimore. That's the I mean, that's the tough
part of the Skelltle's coming. We all looked at the
schedule before out of the gates and said, it's a
pretty easy schedule. No, no, no, Nowell, I said they
would win. I had the Texans going six and oh

heading into at Green Bay where they would take their
first lost.

Was a reason you picked them to go six of though,
because you thought, well, I just thought they was a game.

I thought they were better than Buffalo, especially with our
digs and Gabe Davis. So that was the Buffalo game.
Minnesota surprised me. I didn't think they'd lose at Minnesota.
Nobody expected Minnesota to be five and zero thus far. Yeah,
preseason we said, oh jj McCarthy. Off of the season,
that game gets a lot easier. We said it would
with Sam Donald and he has played Donald. Nobody saw

him doing the chosen one all right. On the way out,
we'll get Aaron Wilson's gonna drop by. He was over
in the building. Let me hear from Jamico on the
way out if I could, though t Meko now that
you've had a chance to do second take Tuesday, review
this tape. I guess for the third maybe fourth time,
Dimiko won. What's your thought going into Week six?

Mego for us, it's just about executor. At the end
of the day, we execute and we do what we're
supposed to do, we can be a really good football team.
So we still have even though it's a big win
for us, still have a lot of things to clean up.

A lot of individuals.

Just ask the guys, just check yourself and see where
you can get better. How can you improve upon this
next week? And keep that mindset moving forward?

and walk off versus the Buffalo Bills heading in to
Patriot Week. I want to add this thought on the
way to break and I'm going to double down to

A lot of people were concerned, how would Stefan Diggs
respond being on this team with the ball having to

go and so many other mouths to feed? How would
he operate? How would was his personality be, what would
his energy be like? And then you add here comes
the Buffalo Bills in week five as an opponent, not
only did Steph Diggs has he policed himself. Not only
has does he continue to work his butt off, and

not only does he continue to ball out Steph Diggs
also at the breakdown when they in the locker room
and you're breaking down the team and everybody's getting ready
to go their separate ways, Steph Diggs said, thank you
for helping me get this win over Buffalo y'all. Notice
meant a lot to me also, and keep in mind

it's time to go back to work. I like that
messaging from Steph Diggs, the veteran that he is as
good as he is at the position, like stay locked in.
They won and we'll do more of this second take Tuesday.
They won the game. It's a good win. You should
feel really really good about that. But there are some
things to clean up, and I've looked at some tape.

Because because I know you're heavily connected around the league. Now,
Robert sala canned this morning. Surprising to you? What can
you tell us about solag and Murky?

Yeah, surprising in the sense that, yes, there was a
lot on the line, a lot of stress attached to
this season, but also that he had, you know, had
some success here and there and is a strong leader
and has the respect of the players. But it's a
tough situation because get a long flight back from London.

It kind of makes the owners start thinking and wondering
about some things. And of course, as you all know,
Aaron Rodgers has a lot of clouts, a lot of juice.
So that's something I keep hearing all over the league
today is Aaron Rodgers could check out his fingerprints. What
does Aaron Rodgers have.

To do with this? Just saying it's just just odd
that a guy as good as Aaron Rodgers Gordy everywhere
he goes every time, like every season, there's just stuff
that happens around a rod Nonetheless, people are saying that
are the wrong guy.

You know it's a mixed bag about this team. Right,
you're four and one, but you haven't played good football.

they're bad habits, but they're how ingrained are they? Can
you get any better at that? Can you You know,
you saw Army Kunsel he did have any penalties. He

told me he's very proud to Navi Pellay. That was

concentrate on that and guess what he did it. That
just shows that someone can improve and a certain thing.
That's a mental concentration thing, not just a football skill.
If you have no talent on your roster, I can't

more disciplined, you can coach these things into guys, and
a lot of it it's mental, it's sports psychology, it's

running through the start of last season and obviously they
started two and three, but you know, had a three

win at home against Pittsburgh, and they had these dominant
schillings where you saw glimpses of, Oh, this is what

this team could be once it all comes together. And
this year it's just kind of like, I don't know
if it's playing up to and down to the competition,
but man, it's it's like, you gotta if you're a
Texans fan this year, you got to keep your heart
doctor on call because you're you're coming down to crunch
time in the fourth.

Quarter with all these games.

Yeah, I mean, the good news is they're good at
winning the post games under Dmiko Ryans, which shows some
resiliency and mental softness. But they sure need to concentrate better.
I don't know what it stakes for these guys, but
they've got to feel a little bit better at that
because at some point it will hurt them down the road.
And you know, not just being like a shouting Thomas

them down. I would say, just it's just logic, right,
this is eventually you run into a team where you
can't make those mistakes. It could be the Kansas City Chiefs.

hope that Tank gets involved again as a deep threat,
