John Middlekauff kicks off this week's episode by reacting to Scottie Scheffler's magical Sunday round to win the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club. Despite not playing his best golf over the weekend, John believes Scheffler is in a Tiger Woods-like groove as of late and proclaims it is hard to bet against him at this point. John then reacts to Brandel Chamblee's comments regarding Bryson DeChambeau not being able to use warm up tournaments such as NAPA to prepare for the upcoming Ryder Cup for Team USA. John then dives into a preview for the Tour Championship this upcoming weekend. Next, John recaps LIV Indianapolis where Jon Rahm secured the individual championship for the season, even though Joaquin Niemann won the most LIV tournaments this year. John wraps up with a Middlekauff Mailbag to answer all of your golf questions.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
The volume. What is going on everybody? We have a
new go low podcast feed. We're gonna try to separate
the golf from a podcast feed as well as a

(00:23):
YouTube feed, which I'm gonna try to play a bunch
of golf, post a bunch of stuff to YouTube as well.
So we're gonna start instituting this over the next month
or two. But this we will separate the golf podcast
moving forward from the three and out feed, which is
obviously football, and keep the golf over here. So make
sure you subscribe, share it with your friends, and I'll

(00:45):
push this. Obviously, the golf seasons kind of coming to
an end, but this is where all the golf content
will be moving forward. I'm sure we will do some
stuff on the Ryder Cup as well, but make sure
you subscribe to this feed because it will no longer
be in the three and outfeed, and this is where
you can get all the golf content from your boy.

(01:05):
That'd be me John Middlecoff And maybe we'll expand we'll
start doing some different stuff because we have a little
more a little more wiggle room. But I want to
do definitely want to talk about Scotty, Bryce and d Chambeau,
and Brandle and can he play in this PGA event
in NAPA as well as rom and we will also
do at Golopod At Golopods the Instagram firing those dms

(01:27):
and get your questions answered here on the show. Very
very easy to get involved. But I wanted to start
with Scottie Scheffler, and I think we're at the point
in time now where it's like, you know, it's like
when people talk about football, they're like, I love football,
Like we get it. Everyone does, you know, Like where
I live in and out Burger, it's like you won't

(01:48):
meet many people that aren't like, yeah, in and out
Burger is the best, right, There's just some things we
all kind of agree upon. And it gets to the
point with you know, most athletes in sports, it's like
things happen and you can have takes like oh, Josh
Allen's overrated, or like you know, Lebron isn't even a
top five player, and you could like legitimately argue it

(02:09):
whether it's correct or not. But you get to the
point like, how can we glaze Scotti Scheffler anymore? He's
like the best player by far. He wins all the
time in majors, regular tournaments, signature events, all the money.
I think he's already accumulated like one hundred and fifty
million dollars when you count on course and then bonus money.

(02:30):
It's like, truly not a fair fight. And for a while,
and I understand this because it was like this with
Mahomes and Brady. It was like, well, you can't compare
anyone to Tom. He's got seven super Bowls, he's been
to ten. I was thinking about this when I had
Greg Olsen on last week. I'm like, you played in

(02:50):
a super Bowl and we ended up not getting into
that much football stuff beside like big picture stuff. But
I can't only imagine as a player make it to
his sul make it to the NBA finals. If you're
not like some superstar tennis player make it to a
Grand Slam, semis or finals, it's a really really big deal.
And the energy and the effort that goes in. I

(03:12):
bet if you ask some guys that have been to
one Super Bowl or been in the final group of
even in golf, like I've bet in the mix in
one major, that adrenaline you look back on the rest
of your life like how crazy and intense and how
much work your entire life had been built to be
in that position, and then you get a guy like
Scotti Scheffler. It's like I watched a decent amount of

(03:35):
the BMW Championship in Caves Valley in Baltimore, and I
was thinking, like, is this Scottie C plus B minus game? Now?
He had moments, especially on Sunday where it's like, Okay,
Scotty's pretty dialed, obviously when he hit the chip shot
on seventeen, which is you know, for a guy that
has been dominating at a pretty historic level. I saw

(03:58):
a stat today that only Tiger Woods, who's done it
four times, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicholas over basically an
eighteen month stretch or two year stretch, have won three Majors,
and the amount of tournaments in which he's won like
he's in pretty rare air, and it feels like he's

(04:18):
not even always on. Like one thing with Tiger is
like when Tiger and Tyer won a lot. I mean,
Tiger won eighty five times, he felt like he won
five hundred, right, but he would just strangle you. It's
just like this guy is just dominating everyone. Sky will
just kind of linger like. It's just like he's kind
of lingering, and worst case scenario, he's gonna finish like
third or second or fourth. He just never has a

(04:41):
week like I don't know, Justin Thomas or Xander Schaffle
where he's like fortieth, Like he just does not have
those weeks. It's like, yeah, I played crappy, I finished fourth,
and that's what it kind of felt like. You know,
maybe it's like Robert McIntyre was just meant to win
this tournament. You know, it happens. I mean, people win,
random guy and er Mcatat's not a random player, but

(05:01):
this would have been a really big win for the guy.
Would have made a bunch of money. It's like Robert
mctawter's gonna win. And then Sunday happens and the first
hole Scottie birdies, he boges. You're like it's over, Like no,
he's still too shut. No, it's like it's over. There
is no way on God's green Earth that Scotti Scheffler
is not winning this tournament. And there is. I thought
the moment that went viral with him chipping it in

(05:24):
on seventeenth hole kind of symbolized the Scottie Scheffler experience,
Like he does pretty remarkable stuff and he's his short game,
his chipping is is pretty unreal. I mean, when he
won the Masters the first time against Cam Smith, I'm
pretty sure he had a sweet chip in in like
the second or third hole. And it's been a defining

(05:45):
attribute to his game, which obviously I would say he's
the best iron player in the sport. And when he's
on him and driving is unreal. And obviously as a putter,
since making the change, he's been one of the best
putters in the world. But like, his short game is
just world class, and it's the thing that separated Tiger right.
He was one of the longest guys off the teeth.
Though he wasn't very accurate. It's hard to play apples

(06:08):
to apples because the technology is so much better. He's way
more accurate before he got injured with the better technology.
But his iron player was elite, his short game was elite,
and he was just a really, really clutch putter. And
the thing when you're watching Scotti Scheffler on Sunday, it's
like he's just not gonna make huge mistakes. And that's
the thing. Once it flips even if he's down. Once

(06:28):
he gets the lead, it's like you're not gonna beat
him because he's never gonna double a random hole, like
he's never gonna just pump it into the water. Or
it's like I'll remember on the fourteenth hole when Scotti
Scheffler pumped one out of bounds. Remind me the last
time that happened. I'll tell you never. He never fucks up.
I would argue that is the defining attribute of Scotti

(06:51):
Scheffler because when you think of Tiger Woods, like it
was just the crazy emotion after great shots. No one
acted more like a basketball or football player after making
putts than Tiger Woods. I mean, the iconic moments for
Tiger Woods are all in relation to a fist pump
or a high five. It's him just going nuts. When

(07:11):
you think of Phil Mickelson, like his iconic moments are
I would say, like flop shots or like shots over trees,
just like what did Phil just do? Jordan Speed, it
is like hitting these crazy long putts. Rory McElroy, it's
just a crazy roller coaster ride. With Scotty, It's like, yeah,
he just bangs fairways and bangs the middle of the

(07:31):
greens and two putts a lot more when you're bogie
and he's porn and then whenever he needs it, h'll birdie.
And that shot on seventeen, like he didn't give a
Tiger Woods fist pump. Honestly, he barely smiled. He gave
a high five to a caddy that's actually not even
his real caddy. I think it's like the preacher in
his hometown church who just now, who knows exactly how

(07:54):
the financial agreement went, But if he gave him ten percent,
he just made three hundred and sixty k four days
of work winning on Scotty's back. And that's kind of Scotty.
And this is why it's like the comps to Tiger
and he's got he's got three majors. I mean, to
get to Tiger, you're not you got a five x
that and he's got eighteen wins you got. I'm no

(08:15):
math major, but you probably got a five x that
as well. I mean, you got He's never catching Tiger,
But like, is he catching Phil? Probably is Scotty Cheffer
gonna win forty plus times on the PGA tour? Is
he gonna win six seven majors? Like I'd bet on that,
and a lot of times like it's just he's just
an enjoyable guy. It's like, ah, feels like I could
be friends with that guy, feels like he's just a

(08:36):
great dad. Feels like he's just a good guy. Kind
of boring though, Like the most polarizing thing that's ever
happened to him and that probably will ever happen to him,
is the moment when he got arrested in Kentucky, which
is just kind of a just an all time outlier situation.
Right if that hadn't happened, there would be an element
I do think fairer now, like this guy's kind of boring,

(08:57):
and in fairst because he is got a boring he
doesn't show that much of mone. It's very very rare
for him to emote on the golf course. He I
would say, gets angry sometimes, but it's not an angry
like a ram angry. It's not a tiger who used
to drop f bombs on national TV. Like he's not
quite doing that, but he is clearly and listen, Rory

(09:18):
is an all time great player. I think Bryson what
is also and done, will go down as an all
time great player, and Scotty's in a different universe right
now than these guys. Like it's just it's it's insane,
and I think his greatest attribute it's just how high
is freaking flores, right, It's just he if he didn't
win that tournament, he was gonna get second or third

(09:40):
and that was the worst he can do, Like it
would be insane for him to finish. I feel like
seventeenth in what maybe in a major, but in any
PGA Tour event, whether it's a playoff event, whether it's
a regular season event or signature event, it's really you
never think that, like anything more than like fifth or

(10:02):
sixth place is in the cards for the guy because
he is showing consistently it is not. And what was
cool about that is like he's in the final group.
He's a couple down to a guy, not a random guy.
I mean, Bob McIntyre's won some big events, as they
said on the broadcast before he cheat off. It's like guys,
he won his hometown the Scottish Open a couple of

(10:22):
years ago, Like that is a lot of pressure. You
see how much pride Shane Lowry, Rory McElroy, Bob McIntyre
have in the in where they're from. What Ireland means
to these guys, Scotland means to these guys, any of
these Europeans, like what Spain means to rom Like, they're very,
very passionate, rightfully, So I fucking love America. I'm very
passionate about America. Hopefully everyone is. I mean, it's where

(10:44):
you're from, where you grow up, the flag that you represent.
When you're a professional athlete, it means a lot. You
see it when these guys go to the Olympics, like
basketball players or you know, some of these professional athletes
that get put it on the flag's Ryder Cup. How
much pride these guys take. And I just think that
Scotty stared him down kind of with ease, and it's like, damn,

(11:05):
I mean this is a guy that I mean, part
of the reason a lot of people are picking, you know,
the European Ryder Cup is like they're so deep with
guys like Bob McIntyre and we're like, well more count
looks like crap is like are they gonna pick speed?
I can't. It's like, I mean, our team relative to
their guys. I mean, you looked at the leader board.
You removed Scotty's name. It was a lot of Ludwig Fleetwood,

(11:26):
Bob McIntyre. It's like that's a lot of guys on
their team. Thank god for Scotty, but he's only one guy,
and this guy just keeps kicking ass and taking names.
I mean, it feels like every other week it's him
and Bennett and his wife up there with a trophy.
It's it's it's pretty crazy what we were witnessing. One
story that kind of went viral is one thing. It

(11:46):
feels like the Europeans do a better job than the
Americans when it comes to the Ryder Cup is like
team unity, team chemistry. Maybe it's just because they naturally
have it, having you know, migrated over here for work
and they kind of stick together. There's a sense of pride.
I don't know, there's just maybe a capitalistic element to
our team that's kind of individualistic. We can really struggle

(12:09):
in the team environment. I mean, our two best players
the last twenty five years, Phil and Tiger aren't really
known as like Ryder Cup ass kickers, right. I mean,
the legends of the Ryder Cup are like Sergio Garcia,
Henrik Stintson, Ian Poulter, some of the European guys, and
I think we're really trying to build some chemistry. It's
why we I want to say hired, but selected Kegan

(12:29):
Bradley to be the captain, kind of a younger guy
who's very passionate in it and whether he plays himself
on it or not. Like it was like, are we
guy to play together before we go to the Ryder
Cup because the Tour Championship ends, which is happening this week,
and then there's a break to the Ryder Cup and
a lot of Americans are like, AM's gonna go home
and hang out and then I'll see over wherever we're playing,
whether it's New York or Rome or you know wherever

(12:51):
that Ryder Cup is, and I'll be there five or
six days before and then we'll start playing golf. And
that just hasn't worked for us. And all these guys
now reportedly are gonna try to play in NAPA before
it's like two weeks before the Ryder Cup to try
to get the competitive juices going, little team bonding event.
I'm like, cool, that makes a lot of sense. And
it was like, well, can Bryson d Schambeau play in

(13:12):
that event in Brandal Shambly, who is very openly anti
live in middle Coffee, like you're just gonna hill for
live because they're paying you. You know where I stand.
I don't actually care. It's twenty twenty five, it's almost
twenty twenty six. I only want one thing, and one
thing only. I want these guys all to be united.
I want to see Bryson and ram in tournaments not

(13:33):
name the majors, playing with guys like Rory and Scotti.
That is the best thing that can happen to golf.
And clearly this NAPA tournament which is not gonna happen,
and Brandle's going nuts like this should never be allowed.
He's not welcome. He's not welcome by who? Because it
would the tournament which used to be the Safeway Open
now they have I forget the name of the sponsor

(13:55):
now they would one hundred percent be behind it. The
television network who pays premium to broadcast golf would one
hundred percent be behind it. Clearly, his teammates because John
Rahm and Bryson d Chambeau are playing in the Ryder Cup,
same with Darrell Hadden, are cool with these guys being
around like we're kind of no, this isn't twenty twenty
two anymore. Like Scottie Shaffer's made hundred and fifty million

(14:16):
dollars in the last two years. Like everyone's getting rich.
Rory McElroy, who didn't even play that well this week,
got three million dollar bonus just for playing in this tournament. Which, listen,
I'm not a pocket I'm not counting his pockets here.
But that's just a reality of the explosion of financials
when it comes to golf because of the live element,

(14:38):
and hell, John rom just made eighteen million dollars last week,
but why can't Bryceon play in this? And this to
me would be a thing with Brian Rolapp where it's like,
how do we make this happen? How do we start
the process of figuring out how to come together? It
doesn't all have to be all at once, Like, no
one's asking you to just rip up every suspension or whatever.
I guess that will take the off season winner. But

(15:00):
this feels like a BP fastball, Like, honestly, besides some
people on the internet who is against this now, Bryson's like, well,
live would let me play well? Of course, you're not
playing this week or that week with the in NAPA.
But to me, this could be the start of kind
of opening the floodgates to the reunification and starting where

(15:22):
we all want this to go. So we can turn
on our TV it's like, oh, this is a tournament
with John Rahm, Terrell Hatton, Bryson D. Chambeau, Rory McElroy,
Xander Shaffley, Scottie Scheffler. Because that happens four times a
year right now, and those are the most watched golf
tournaments of the year. And obviously they're the majors that
are the most important, But why can't some of these
other tournaments. Imagine if Bryson d Chambeau was playing in

(15:43):
this in Napa here in a couple of weeks, guess
what happens a lot more people pay attention. What is
the PGA tour struggle with some of the sponsorships. Who
has been backing out some of the sponsors? Why? Because
like the ROI doesn't make sense. And this is the
problem with golf. You got to be very, very careful,
and you're very and by the days of just Tiger
Woods carrying the entire sport is done. You're now more

(16:04):
driven by six seven guys, and you could argue three
or four guys, and Bryson is definitely one of those.
I'm not talking about like letting Patrick Reid and play
in this tournament or one of those. I'm talking about
Bryson d Chambeau, and I think they are making a
mistake whoever is the ultimate decision maker on this by
not just figuring out a way to get this done. Okay,
let's with the Tour Championships right around the corner. It's

(16:24):
brought to you by Transfusion five hour Energy shots a
whole in one in one flavor sensation by now on
five hour Energy dot com. It would really be stunning.
And this used to be This tournament kind of got convoluted.
Remember it was like they staggered the scores. That's just stupid.
They used to have times where like Justin Rose. I

(16:46):
remember when Tiger Woods won in twenty eighteen. Tiger Woods
won the tournament, but Justin Rose won the money. It's like,
whatever's going on with these playoff events. I actually don't
mind the seventy the fifty. This one gets a little stupid.
It's basically just a way to distribute money, and I
don't have the correct answer for how to do this,

(17:08):
to do the match play to clearly, I think this
how many years left at east Lake? We are coming
down the home stretch. There have already been reports about
maybe traveling around doing different events. The BMW has moved
events for years. I think the Tour Championship, I think
a lot of people are like, hey, put it a
pebble beach, put it in an area that's kind of cool.

(17:29):
Maybe get some primetime golf. I mean, look at the
US Amateur that was at Olympic Club, which is just
just an awesome venue. On television in Geez Louise. I mean,
every time I turned it on, the oldest guy had
felt like in the mix with like the final sixteen
was like John Daly's kid. Most of these guys were
like freshman in college, teenagers. Miles Russell feels like the
greatest golf prospects since Tiger Woods. I was texting with

(17:53):
a couple buddies in the business. I'm like, is this
guy just gonna skip college? And They're like, well, he
would have five years ago, but now with nil some
of the numbers I'm hearing think quarterbacks starting at Ohio State.
I mean, the numbers getting thrown around for this kid,
what a talent. But I'm really excited to watch Scotty
Schuffer just win again because watching ry McElroy definitely feels off.

(18:17):
I mean, his driver has not been the same, which
actually is a good thing when you look at the
Ryder Cup. But this is a course in which he's
played really well. Xander's another guy who's played really well.
Here is way off even he said like, this game's
pretty frustrating when you're trying really hard and still playing
like ass. That's not my comment, that's a direct quote
from Xander. I mean more, Cowa looks like shit. JT

(18:38):
hasn't been remotely close to what he was earlier in
the season. Can't Lay is a shell of himself. So
I mean, I I think it would be stunning, like
truly stunning. Scotti Scheffler's playing against twenty nine other people
if he doesn't win this tournament. If you tell me
a Scotti Scheffler more likely to finish sixth this weekend

(18:58):
or win this tournament by seven, I think the bet
is easily win it by seven. I think the question
is who finishes second and I think the scary part
for us is, like, are Victor Hovelin and Ludwig kind
of showing some life because if those two guys start
playing well, we need some guys to figure it out
and figure it out fast when it comes to the

(19:19):
Ryder Cup. Thank God, the Americans got very, very lucky
the two guys. Cam Young has really figured it out.
I was listening to No Laying Up podcast last night
here at the hotel, and he's been one of the
best putters in the world for the last time, I think,
like three or four months, and I mean every time
you look up Cam Young shooting four or five six hundred,
like he's playing exceptionally well. Got her up kind of

(19:41):
fell off a cliff these last couple of weeks, so
his spot's kind of a jeopardy. Sam Burns has shown
some signs of life, which I would have been anti
just doing it, but like Scotty is so good right now,
and if that's Scotty's guy, and if he goes, we're
down to one spot, who would you recommend? And Scotty
recommends it like he has enough juice and enough pull.
Probably should listen to him. And it's not like who's

(20:01):
he really competing against? Like, who are we talking about? Speith?
I'd be you know, can't lace tough because he he
does step up for the event. But if you told
me like Sam Burns, Cam Young or Colin Mori Cow,
I might pick those other two guys before more Cow
in a heartbeat, he'd be like, well he's played in
this event before. It's like, I don't really care. He
looks awful. Uh So, I think the big key to

(20:22):
this event is Scott. He's gonna win. But how do
these top you know, some of these European guys, these
big name European guys, are they finding signs of life?
Like are they really coming on right now? Are Victor
Hovlin and Ledvig gonna be playing at a really high
level going into the Ryder Cup? Because Fleetwood looks fantastic.
I know he can't win. I understand he he can't
win a PG event, but he sure looks good every

(20:43):
week he plays, and I would expect him to be
really really good in the Ryder Cup. John Rahm just one.
We'll dive into that in a second. But to me,
the key to this event is our fringe guys that
includes Keegan and then the europe and Ryder Cup guys,
because if those guys keep the momentum, I I'm as

(21:05):
pro America as anyone you'll meet. I think betting on
the Europeans in this event, given that they're gonna be
an underdog, now it's not gonna be easy because New
York's gonna be rowdy. Is is gonna be a tough
to pass up. So get excited for the Tour Championship

Here's the thing. Summer is upon us where I live.
I think it's one hundred and ten degrees today, and
I'm a sweater and I don't like smelling. So the
key with Bando and their deodor, it has sweat control.
So not only does it block the odor all day,
but it controls my sweat. I don't like to just
be soaked if I'm just walking outside to grab something

Please support our show. Tell them we sent you a man.
Those guy you covered protect your pits, baby smell great
doing it. One thing the PGA Tour needed to figure
out is the tour championship at the end. With the
money and the winning and staggering the scores, and I
think live that John Rahm just won the individual championship

(23:18):
which had an eighteen million dollar bonus, which I bet
they say, like listen, keeping him happy, that's the most
important thing him and Bryson. I think it's hard to
crown a champion that did not win a tournament that season,
and Joaqe Neeman, for liv won five of them. So
it's like, if you win five times on the PGA Tour,

(23:38):
it is going to be very very difficult for you
not to be the player of the year, right, and
history would say to end up being the tour champion,
right because typically you always had a big lead, and
those guys just had a huge advantage to win the championship.
So one thing I would imagine Scott O'Neil and those
guys are going to go back and try to figure
out because they just for the first time had true relegation.

(24:00):
Anthony Kim, which everyone was excited to see, came went
see a he's done. Mita Pereira. I think Hendrick Stenson,
like they have guys that are just relegated. I don't
know where they're gonna go. They're just done. And that
was really important for them to try to get some
of these owgr points to get their guys to qualify
for these majors. But I think one thing that's gonna

(24:23):
be key is figuring out a way to crown a
champion at the end of your season that is truly
the most deserving. Now, you could argue, you know, look
at the NFL, right sometimes the Giants won the Super
Bowl and they went nine and seven. So just because
you had the best regular season doesn't guarantee you anything
in the playoffs. I think golf's a little different that

(24:43):
way though, And I don't know. I do wonder if
you're joking, Neeman. Now, you made a lot of money
winning all those tournaments. I think LIV pays about four
million dollars every time you win. He won five times.
I mean, you do the math. I think I saw
a couple of weeks ago he had made thirty three
five million dollars or something throughout the twenty five lift season.

(25:05):
So it's not like he's don't don't cry for joking, Neeman,
but he's got to be thinking, Wait, I won five
times and John Ram ended up winning the championship. I
saw that did Munos, who was in the lead, who
ended up winning the tournament, but who had a big
lead on after the first day, shot fifty nine and
had two bogies. If you shoot fifty nine with two bogies,

(25:27):
you are making some serious berties. So grasses John Ram
who keeps cashing them checks and the live individual season
is all but a rap. The rivalries, the marching bands,
the upsets, Saturdays just got way more fun. College football

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Okay, let's do a couple quick male bag questions in
relation to golf. We will start here at golopod. At
golopod is the Instagram fire in those dms and get
your questions answered here on the show. We'll start with Max.
How's it going man, Future ball brother. I'm headed down
to Arizona at the end of December and recommended too,

(27:49):
and was recommended to courses Quintaro and Verado. Have you
played either and would you suggest other than Raven, Whirlwind
and TPC. I've played Quintaro before or It's fantastic. I
would recommend that to anyone. It's a little bit of
a trek if you're staying in Scottsdale, but it's definitely
worth the drive. I have not played Verado, Raven and

(28:09):
Whirlwind or just cool public courses. You know, TPC by
the time you're going in December will have a lot
of the stuff up. It's I would recommend that. I'd
say Greyhawk. I think Greyhawk's a little overrated, to be
honest with you. I played there when we were shooting
some five hour energy stuff. It's just someone in my
dms like Middle Coffee hype up TPC. Greyhawks way better,

(28:32):
not even close. I think TPC Scottsdale is dramatically better
than grey Hawk. If you had to rank, you know,
the three North Scottsdale public courses that are the most
famous and most played and obviously the expensive costs the
most our TBC, Greyhawk and Trouon. To me, Greyhawk is
a clear third of that group. Now their practice facility

(28:55):
Elite Isabella's is an awesome bar, fills grill is Mickelson like.
It's a cool atmosphere, but in terms of the golf course,
I think it's not great. H Listen to Doug Philin
for Colin. He drugged Colin through the mud on how
he wore his hat top of his head, which he

(29:15):
argued was as bad as backwards. This is one of
Colin's most famous takes. I'm not seriously expecting you to
call out Colin, but would be funny to hear you
call him curious your thoughts, big fan? And have you
mentioned motivated me to invest in the market. I would
say this about his backward hat. Take his backward hat.
Take at least the way I consume it is not

(29:38):
that you can't have a backward hat. Is that when
you're at the podium as the starting quarterback or the
head coach, and you have Bank of America, City Group,
American Airlines, whoever, a huge corporate sponsor who was giving
the team fifty million dollars a year. Just put your
hat forward, now, Listen. I've always said I'm bald, so
I play by different rules than you with hair. I

(30:00):
don't have hair, so if I haven't shaved my head
like the cul de sac, it's a bad look and
I just feel fair or not. Like I don't play
by the same rules as you guys do. So if
I want to wear a backwards hat, I can. But
I do get what he's saying there. So when he's
just doing an interview at a golf tournament and he
has the hat up, I don't think it's quite apples

(30:22):
to apples. But I've also never been offended by some
of these people that get all up in arms when
it comes to his backward hat rant. I mean Brian
Schottenheimer the other day, Like it's like Brian, people are
already kind of looking at you a little funny. Did
you see what Brandal sham Blue said about Bryce in

(30:43):
the Ryder Cup. It seems like he's only the one
really out front and bitter when it comes to live
players in the league. Why do you think that is?
I want to say this about Brandle, I admire him
a lot. I think of all the sports and all
the TV personalities, he's one of the best in terms
of his knowledge, his willingness to kind of talk some shit,

(31:05):
his willingness just to say things that other people are
not willing to say. I understood where he originally came
out against Live and the fracture had had in golf
and his stance. I think politically his angle, it's like
everyone does business with Saudi Arabia America. I mean, we
sent the vegetable Joe Biden over there to meet with

(31:26):
the Prince. So it's like we'd be pretty hypocritical if
people can't play sports for them right, or if they
invested them. Like I've never been a moral high horse guy.
When it came to Live about that, what made me
mad originally was like, I didn't want to see a
sport that can't afford a fracture of its top players
have that happen. I didn't care where the money comes from.

(31:48):
I'm not naive to the way business works. Hell, we've
taken their money gladly, so I do not care. But
his thing about the sadis like it kind of lost
the argument it's it's over the PGA tour announced. I mean, now,
granted the merger hasn't happened yet, but this was Jay

(32:09):
Monahan that they're Scott O'Neill and Brian Roll. These people
are all going to do business together like that. That's
going to happen. It's not inevitable. It's literally happening as
we speak held the Ryder Cups. It's like, yeah, John
Ron Bryson are on the team. We don't even care,
come on it. So I think sometimes we all struggle

(32:29):
changing our opinion with stuff. We can all be stubborn
and listen. I mean, whenever I see him talking about this,
he's clearly pretty passionate about it, but I think it's
just what can we do to figure this out? That's
where I stand. I don't I've never talked to him
about it. I've seen him at the gym a couple
of times and bs with him about like Scheffler and
Jordan Speith, but I've never asked him specifically about this.

(32:52):
But this is clearly something that he's not pivoting away from,
which I think is going to be tough. It's not
apples to apples because ultimately golf is golf. But I
remember there are a lot of people like at ESPN
that were like anti football, And once you became anti football,
I can't ever take you seriously again. It's like you
wanted football to fall, Like fuck you, you know you

(33:15):
hate what we all love and you couldn't even you
couldn't even hide it. And now they've tried to come back. Ah,
football is really bob. Now we saw your true colors,
Like that's we knew where you stood. Now this is
different because Brandal loves golf. But like as this merger
happens and as they gain control, like what if NBC
like it could get it's got to be very very careful.

(33:36):
It's got to be very very careful about stuff like that. Uh,
appreciate the work I mentioned last time. I'm new to golf.
For those of us who started late, how good can
we expect to get? Obviously, if I have ultimate time
and unlimited money and dedicate myself more, how hard is
it to go from brand new to becoming a ten handicap.

(33:56):
I think everybody's different, you know. I I don't think
you could put a time on it. I don't think
you could put a handicap on it. The only way
to become good at golf. I was texting with a
buddy about this. You know, in football, if I'm like
a big, strong athlete and my dad played in the
NFL and my uncle's played in the NFL, I'm probably

(34:17):
just gonna get a college scholarship, whether I'm that good
at football or not. If I'm six', five If i'm
two hundred and seventy, Pounds i'm. Strong i'm gonna play
at a power forward, university AND i might get multiple
trances in the transfer portal because my last. Name this
is a bad example because these guys were. Good but
if my name Was John bosa AND i Was nick
And joey's, brother BUT i wasn't as good as, them

(34:39):
BUT i had their, SIZE i had some of their,
talent LIKE i would get multiple. Opportunities in, golf you
cannot fake. It so Like John daly's son making it
to The elite eight of THE Us amateur playing At,
arkansas you can only be good at golf if you
literally are good at, golf meaning but you, try you practice.
That there is no there's no just a god given.

(34:59):
Talent this is that you just show up and shoot seventy.
Right so part of getting better at golf is just.
Playing it takes, time it takes, energy it takes. Effort,
obviously there are some natural fluid hands power fluidity to your,
movement but a lot of it is just you gotta

(35:19):
work at. It SO i there's not a time. Limit
i've been golfing for over two years And i'm getting
close to breaking one. HUNDRED i slice my drive pretty
hard sometimes and puts me in a precarious. Situation would
you recommend using a three wood or an iron off
the tee and sacrificing some? DISTANCE i would. Not WHAT
i would do IS i would go on YouTube AND

(35:41):
i would type in reasons or ways to fix the.
Slice and there are going to be a couple different,
Guys i'm sure that you're going to end up on
and we'll have multiple different. Opinions go to the range
and some of the stuff they talk. About try to
institute and see if that. Helps that's WHAT i would,
do because you don't Want i'm just gonna pick a.

(36:04):
Number let's say if you hit a good, drive you
could hit it two hundred and fifty, yards but if
you take a three, Iron let's say you hit it
two hundred. Yards that is a lot of distance throughout you,
know courses you're. Applying if you're getting up fifty sixty seventy,
yards most of us are not good enough to overcompensate for.
That SO i would try to find a way to

(36:26):
control my driver a little. Bit and the easiest way
to do that is get a lesson on YouTube and
then try to institute some of THE uh tips on
the driving ranch or on the. Course aggressing the baby for. You, now,
also you're also HEARD i was wondering how worth it
it is to get a certain new. CLUBS i have
a great set of, irons but an upgrade at driver

(36:49):
in three wood definitely needs to. Happen how worth it
is a new putter or a new. HYBRID i hear
hybrids are great to substitute something like a four, iron
but would you get also not sure a new putter
will change my game as MUCH i would say a new.
Putter most of the time we're just bad. Putters it's
not it's not necessarily the. Putter, now if you have
a putter from like the, EIGHTIES i wouldn't be opposed

(37:12):
to getting a new. PUTTER i also think you can
go to THE pg, superstore And i've done this, before
and go to THE us club section and use their
hitting mats and find a. Club instead of spending five
six hundred, dollars get A us club for fifty percent of,
that and you can tell, yourself like you're Not John

(37:33):
rahm Or scotti, shuffler do you need the brand new?
Club you. Don't you could hit A us, club and
especially for half the, price if it last you a
couple of, years you're getting more than your money's. Worth
so a, hybrid a, driver a three, wood go to
THE pj superstore if you have one, nearby or a
store like, that and hit some of THEIR us. Clubs
that's WHAT i would. Recommend If Jokee neman was An

(37:57):
american Or, european would he be a? Writer tough question
because his live play is great but really disappointing in.
Majors it's a great. QUESTION i don't think he would.
BE i don't think he would. Be you know the
thing With, bryson, right he's played well in the, majors
but he had a big time resume before he'd WON pja,
events before he went to live he'd won A Us,

(38:18):
open like we've seen him in the biggest moments play.
Well so a guy like that Or John rahm would
get the benefit Of, NOW i don't Think Joaquin neman
Would maybe with The europeans because he's boys Like Sergio
rahm that they would fight for, him but An american
he would. NOT i think he would have a chance
with The. EUROS i think he would have no chance

(38:38):
with The americans. None THOUGH i do believe If Joaque
neman had knock gone To live and was on THE Pga,
tour he would be a really GOOD Pga tour, player
and he'd probably be more equipped in some of the.
Majors but WHEN i was at The live, EVENT i
stood by him and watched him hit. BALLS i, mean
that guy's a ball. Striker you just watch him hit

(39:00):
that little baby. Cut it's more like a power. Cuts
it's really really. IMPRESSIVE i MEAN i watched him hit
probably twenty five balls and he put on a. Clinic
he is a ball. Striker, now all most of these
guys On live he was, WATCHING i mean kept BECAUSE
i had a terrible. Season you watch him hit, balls
he looks, like you, know five time major, champion BUT

(39:22):
i do believe that Jaukee neman would be in the
mix For, euros not The. AMERICANS i know you're a
fan of golf. Content who are your favorite content? Creators
thoughts On Mark, bouchet the guy who hits crazy slices and.
Hooks i've never seen that guy and looking at his
videos like he's always going after people in the comment.
Section the only Time i've really seen him play with

(39:43):
a big time content creators when he played With Good
good and he played terrible and kind of seemed like
a guy that wouldn't be fun to hang out. Around
just wanted to get your thoughts on him since he's
always getting defensive in the comments. SECTION i honestly don't
know who that guy. IS i Think i've heard of,
him But i've never watched STUFF i would say the two,
people AND i haven't actually watched that much golf content

(40:04):
on YouTube. Lately once football, STARTS i probably watch a lot.
LESS i would Say bob does. Sports i've watched a
lot of their. Stuff And. Grant i've watched a lot
Of grant when he does the making The cut with
The Brian. Bros and when he plays with a pro
so like when he plays With Adam, scott when he
plays With, sergio when he plays With John. Rahm that's just,

(40:26):
really really well. DONE i don't watch that much good
good THOUGH i respect the business they. BUILT i watched
a little bit Of barstool. GUYS i have a lot
of admiration for What riggs. BUILT i know people make
fun of him a lot for his golf swing and,
it's you, KNOW i think a little unflated, handicap but
he built a. Business like we got multiple guys on

(40:47):
our sales team From. Barstool the amount of money That
barstool merch does in golf is pretty. STAGGERING i played
with a guy a couple of years ago that works
At Taylor. Made he's, like do you know how how
much product those guys? Push this was all his. Idea
this wasn't Like Dave portnoy Or Big cat. Like this
Was riggs leading the. Charge and again the sales guy's,

(41:11):
like do you know how much they're? Create Not Creator,
classic but The Barstool. Classic how much revenue that thing.
Generates so it's just a lover of business and the
lover of doing common, making you, know driving revenue and creating.
Commerce at a kind of thin. Air it's really really
impressive what they've, built and, uh you, know AND i

(41:32):
think what's really, Relatable like That Trent breaking ninety series
was really good. CONTENT i enjoyed. THAT i watched. That
that was. Good so Mainly bob Does grant a little
bit and some of barstool. Stuff, Okay, well last. QUESTION
i think everyone is in agreement that The european team,

(41:54):
should should and will be favored in The Ryder. Cup,
however and is there a scenario Where scotty can carry
us to a team. Win he's clearly held a head
and shoulders above everyone else in the. World So i'm
wondering that if he can be great on the Weekend,
Bryson xander AND, jt maybe The Ben griffin type guys
have a little less pressure on. Them, also we are

(42:15):
playing at, home which always helps a. Ton could you
see a scenario Where scotty plays? Incredible the only thing
is it's a little out of your. Control, RIGHT i
guess you get of the four team, matches like there
are five total, matches, right two On thursday or two On,
friday two On, saturday and then the singles On. Sunday

(42:40):
two of the team. Ones you play your own, ball,
RIGHT i play my own, Ball my partner plays our own,
ball and then we just take our best. Score So
scotty could shoot sixty five sixty five and win that by.
Himself but on the alternate, shot like if he's playing
With Russell henley Or Colin morikawa or, whoever if that
guy plays like, shit it's out of your. Control so

(43:02):
he truly only controls three of his five. Points and
if it takes, whatever, seventeen, sixteen, eighteen whatever the point
total it is to win A Ryder, cup he only
controls so. Much, now if you have two, GUYS i
would say playing an elite, level let's Say bryson And
scottie are just dominating the, event THEN i think you

(43:22):
can be in pretty good shape because those guys can
carry other people in their group and all of a
sudden you're winning a lot of. Points BUT i don't
think it's just one. Guy and that's WHERE i think
The european team's a little. Scary is like, Shit it's, like,
okay even If rory's a little, off, Well rom's playing,
Well hatton's playing, Well ludvig's playing, Well fleetwood's playing, well
McIntyre's playing, Well hovelin's signs of life, Here it's, Like,

(43:46):
god they got a lot Of they got a lot
of guys trending in the right, direction and then you
look at our. TEAM i, MEAN i would say Cam young's,
Trending Ben griffin's, Trending scotty's, dominating BUT jt is not playing.
Well Even bryson that live been off the last couple
events they've. Played More cow has been not, good Can't

(44:08):
ley has had an awful. Season KEEGAN i would say
peaked a couple months. Ago if assuming he picks picks,
HIMSELF i, mean we got a lot of question. Marks
now home Event New york is gonna be going. Nuts but,
YEAH i would say we need multiple guys to play
at a really high level if we want a chance
to win the volume
