(01:51):
and now here's Pro Bowlers Lavarrei, Te t J Houshmanzana
and Super Bowl Chiffy and Plaxico Burress. Welcome to the show.
Welcome to the show Up on Game. As you know. Hi, everybody,

(02:14):
We're here today to track the microphones, have a great
conversation with you about things going on and sports, all
that great things, you know. Shouts out to our six
hundred affiliate stations around the country. We appreciate the support. Yeah,
we appreciate you being a part of us. Out of

(02:34):
the shouts out to Bow he's taken over. Are you ready? Ryan? Geez?
But why did I say both? I don't know. Oh,
everything all right over there? Ryan? Yes, yes, you need

(02:54):
you need, you need to put some work in. Then
I keep jacking up your name. It's okay, this is
number two that I've jacked up your name. Huh. Go
at Ryan A plex Yeah. I mean I was a
rookie once before, and in fact, I was a freshman
once before, and you know that happened to me. Yeah,

(03:16):
it happened. I know who Iowa Sam is and David Gascon. Sorry,
they got a little bit of tenure in with me
there in there. They're back there. The team is here.
We got a nice little show going. And listen, we
got Michael Parsons coming on next segment. He will be
on that ten twenty, so make sure that you you
lock in to see that. We also will have some

(03:37):
caller topics, uh to to put out there. But first
let's start here plexico um, and we'll get t J's
take on it as well. Uh. The draft, it just
took place, and there are a lot of There are
a lot of things that happened once your name is calling.
It's so funny. I was talking to one of my

(03:59):
young bucks that's in town, he's training right now, and
he was talking to me about how they went out
to to a spot and and he had to say
something to one of the one of the crew will say,
just keep it vague that you know this, this fella
just got drafted by the Cowboys, which he's coming on

(04:21):
the show, so you know, we know who that is. Um.
And And the interesting thing is when I heard him say, man,
he just got drafted by the Cowboys, it kind of
sunk into me, like, man, he just got drafted by
the Cowboys. So it started to make me think. And
I wanted to get your, you know, both of you
guys opinion on this or or not even opinion, but

(04:44):
just your your your insight on it and your perspective
on it. You know, after the draft happens, it's it's
almost like a funeral, right, like nobody is there really anymore.
After the experience of it takes place, it dies down.
What was your experience after you got drafted? Like coming

(05:05):
into it, you got all these people there, you go
number eight, what was what was your experience after Well,
my personal experience after getting drafted was, you know, I
chose the opportunity to stay home with my family and
enjoyed the whole process and the draft of my family.
And I didn't go to New York like you guys did.

(05:27):
And um, I remember like it was yesterday. You know
what happens after the draft. It gets about business real
quick because the next thing that this team, that the team,
the organization and the head coach and the general manager
want to know. They want to know if you can
really play football. They want to know if you can
play football, because you know what what you did in college,

(05:48):
that doesn't matter anymore. We want to find out if
you're worthy of the draft pick, and which we chose
you and you and when we was when we were
playing and when we got drafted. The rookie minicamp was
the following week. So when I got drafted at the
eighth pick, I stayed the night at home and I

(06:10):
flew up to Pittsburgh the next morning to do all
to do my media coverage. And when I walked through
the door, you know, the first thing they did to me,
they handed me to play book. It was like a
phone book. Back then. I was like, well, the draft
was yesterday. You got a chance to celebrate it. But
the next day, it's your profession, it's your job. It

(06:33):
becomes a business, your your own walking ceo, you're your
own company. And for a guy like myself, you don't
know basically coming from where I grew up, better, how
how I grew up to be, you know, having just
everything at your exposure. You know, it can be a
bit overwhelmed me because it's it's something that you you

(06:54):
work your whole life to get to. But at the
same time, it's a real feeling like, man, I I'm
really out here playing professional football. But I want these
guys to understand, you know, coming in after getting drafted.
A great coach always told me this, Mike Tomley, say, gentlemen,
you're always being evaluated. It doesn't matter what you're doing

(07:16):
or where you're at, You're always being evaluated. And I
was in my twelfth year when I it was the
first time. It was the first time that I had
ever heard that from a coach, and I was like, man,
it makes you're always being evaluated. It's your job, it's
your profession. You're the own your your own company as

(07:39):
the athlete. So now it's time for you to pretty
much you have a of a playing canvas, and now
it's time for you to paint your picture of of
of what kind of player and how great you can
really be. I partied. I partied so hard. I don't

(08:02):
even know that I remember anything else about post draft
that I did. I met celebrities, I started, I got
real tight with the tennis player. We was hanging out,
I was doing photo shoots. I just I partied. I mean,
I'm just gonna be honest like so. And this is
why I wanted to talk about this today, because man,

(08:23):
I'm sitting there thinking to myself, you know, what I
should have done and things that I did do is like, Okay,
you you have a chapter that's coming to a close,
maybe even a book, maybe the book of college comes
to a close, and then now you're starting a new book,
of your pro book. And for me, I had, I

(08:46):
had accomplished and had achieved so much, and for it
to have led to being this high draft pick in
the draft, I had never once I had decided to
be something great at the point in time that I
did it. And that was like really in like my

(09:07):
sophomore year of high school. I wanted to do great
things earlier on, but it was like my sophomore year
where I was like mature enough and I said to myself,
I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna be great at
doing it, and I'm gonna be one of the best
that has ever done it. I'm gonna work for that
and and see where it gets me. And and it worked,

(09:28):
like all the hard work, the dedication, like foregoing any
type of like I didn't party very much. I remember
the first time. This is some funny junk. I remember
the first time I took a drink. My my older
brother was home from school and and gave me a
sip of peach schnops. I threw up on on contact,

(09:50):
I threw I threw up. Do you think that because
of the mistakes you felt you made after you got
drafted in the party and that you're able to impart
some of this on Micah and Jason? Are they gonna
listen because it's easy to give them that information. But
when you're young and you have this money, you want

(10:11):
to have fun, well they you think they'll have that balance?
You know, going to a team like Dallas is going
to be one of the most challenging of situations for
any anyone that gets drafted at at And and really
it doesn't even matter if you get drafted high or not.

(10:33):
It's it's more of a status deal at that point,
Like you are Dallas's number one draft pick for the
two thousand one draft. That is that's almost like going
number eight. That's like going number eight to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It's like, you know, being the first draft pick for uh,

(10:54):
the New England Patriots, like I mean maybe more so
period because alas is like that's the team that everybody
pays attention to they probably have, it's not. And so
to me, looking at how how well Mica has done,
and we're gonna be bringing Michael Parson, that's why because

(11:16):
I'm gonna ask him the same and and this is
why I wanted to to to have the conversation leading
into to his mean, because my draft experience is completely different.
I was so mad that it was just like I'm
going to work out the next day. I'm going to
work out the next day. And so for me, I
don't remember the first time I worked out because but

(11:38):
if you think about this, the plex I came in
overweight plex. Think about this though. Think about this. When
we were getting drafted, guys were taking trips two cities
to visit teams, and so you're taking these trips, you're
missing days of working out, so you're really not in
shape because you may go visit Pittsburgh on Tuesday, you

(12:02):
fly home, and you're gonna go visit Denver on Thursday
or Friday. So before you know you visited four teams.
You've missed two weeks of working out. I don't recall
working out after my pro day, so I don't recall
working out after my pro day. You were having a
lot of fun. I mean I was so mad, Like
I was like, I'm gonna just work hard out every

(12:23):
workout I did. Everybody that came to work out with
us that was drafted in front of me, I wanted
to show them like I'm gonna make you quit. That
that was my mentality. I wouldn't to see every team
in the top ten besides Washington forever in Arizona. Other
than that, it was I was on the plane every
other week to go see a team. And that's why

(12:44):
guys today they should be in better shape because the
days of taking trips because of COVID are no longer,
so they were able to work out consistently. What's different
you You and and you talk about this all the time,
even when we were coaching. It's like you and Chad
and a couple of other guys y'all was working y'all

(13:05):
asses are we worked really like y'all had workout culture.
Like I feel like today's athletes they have been turned
out into being work out a holics. Like it's a
totally different approach to working out and getting in shape
and paying attention to your body. It's way more of

(13:25):
a focus now. It's like an obsession piece to the thing.
It's almost is equal to the closer whatever it is, right,
but it is so important these days. So it's interesting
because I was, I was looking at you know, what
Mike has got going on, and I was looking at
his his his I G and he's working out. He

(13:49):
was like he was at some place doing drills and
working out and stuff like that. And I'm like, man,
that now has become almost like entertainment to watch how
dudes work out. When I was coming through, when it
when it was our time and we were coming through,
First off, there wasn't any platforms that was showing us
working out. That's first and foremost, right, Um, we we

(14:12):
had my space, but it was like you was just
trying to connect. It was pretty much what you learned
in high school, what you learned in college. Now you
can get on social media and be like I like this,
I'm gonna try this. I'm gonna try it, and I'm
gonna record it, and I'm gonna put it out there
and people are going to consume it. So I feel
like it's taken on a whole new life of its
own in a very positive way of how it impacts

(14:35):
today's athlete. But I just thought it was interesting. We
got Michael Parsons coming up as as a matter of fact,
we're gonna break now so that we can make sure
that we have a ton of time to be able
to to talk to him. But after the draft happens,
what happens next? The funeral is over, it's in the ground,
the dirt is on top, the roses is growing out.

(14:58):
Like what happens after you're done with the draft? And heck,
is there a right or wrong answer to how you
handle it? I mean, you've reached your dream. We're bringing
all Michael Parsons next New Dallas Cowboys linebacker their first
draft pick. And yes he is from, uh, the city
of Sticks. We'll get in all of that. On the

(15:20):
other side ofay to break your listening up on game

J Dgmondsata, Plexico Bursts, yeah, draft stories, post draft stories.

(19:07):
We'll be getting the great one, the new one Michael
Parsons on shortly. But until then, let's continue the conversation
of Again, I don't want to make it seem as
though I I pooh pooed on my my opportunity and
on my situation I did. It did carry on into

(19:28):
well into me being overweight for training camp because I was,
you know, I had to get my contract situation um
together before I reported. And I just can I can
recall I had so many Welcome to the League parties
that that I was a part of, like you know,

(19:50):
family back in Pittsburgh. Uh in d C I went
to with there was a welcome party at d C Live.
It was still e C Live. It hadn't changed into
UH I think it was v I P after after
that or something to that effect. Shots out ye Stadium
is way way Yeah, it was talking about DC Live,

(20:14):
Republic Guards. Yeah, yeah, I was. I was at all
of them. Shots out to Mark Barne shot b T
sound stage, like I was in Chocolate City, and I
literally was doing a party every single situation um that
you could think of, and it was amazing. I can't

(20:35):
tell a lie um uh, you know, I look at
it from this perspective too, being from Pittsburgh. It's very
it was back then. It was very black and white.
There was no in between. It was just very black
and white. And when I say black and white, I
literally mean black and white like people wise. So I

(20:56):
was very limited on my exposure to pe people, and
it was very It was kind of the same at
Penn State. It wasn't very different at Penn State. So
when I got drafted to d C and I got there,
and I just I probably spent the first month and

(21:17):
a half trying to figure out where in the world
I was at a plex. Real talk though, he is
reliving draft as we speak though, because he's iced out today.
Broke out out today. He went full full in person

(21:40):
draft experience. Bro he's iced out today, chain out watch everything.
Oh no, they ain't ready went full long draft mode
for real. He's feeling itself this morning. Up. Yeah, still
still got no sucks. I mean, it's the biggest thing

(22:03):
these kids are gonna have to understand is you've made it,
but you really haven't made it. You reached a pinnacle,
but you really haven't reached a pinnacle. This is your livelihood.
So as much as you get all this fanfare, now
you come in out of shape, you get injured, you
don't perform to expectations of where you were drafted, all

(22:27):
this will be a problem. And so that's where these
kids really I get it. You're young, you have a
lot of money. Especially in the city like Dallas, any
professional city, everybody's gonna know who you are. You're not
gonna be able to go out and say, oh, I mean,
I'm I'm so and so I go to work construction,
I'm a student that this. They're gonna know who you are.

(22:50):
If you don't have your head on your shoulders and
understand how you want to get things done, it's gonna
be tough. You're gonna have peaks and valleys as far
as doing the right thing and making certain mistakes. But
if you're not ready to go, you won't be in
the leader. They get they move off Ricky's faster than

(23:11):
they've ever done. Quick. You'll be out the league quick.
And so these guys better understand as quick as you
get in there, they'll get you out quicker. Yo. Look,
I ain't even gonna front man. I laid in the
bed the night before the draft, and I'm just laying
laying the bed looking at the ceiling. It's like, you know,
one two o'clock in the morning, and I actually had

(23:33):
doubts about myself. I'm not even gonna lie. I sat there,
I'm looking at the ceiling. I'm like, man, what if
I'm not as good as they say I am? Like
things like that. Actually, you know, it crept into my mind,
you know, as an athlete going into the draft, because
it's so close, it's right there. You're like, I can't
really believe I'm getting getting to get drafted to fulfill

(23:55):
a lifelong dream. And um, I'm pretty sure you guys
have seen this without sometimes you know, we've played amongst
some of the best athletes, uh professional football players. You
know that you will ever meet or witness, you know,
in person, great athletes. And I've seen it over my

(24:16):
twelve years. You know, the best college football players coming
out of college holly touted. And the mental part of
playing in the NFL, the mental capacity, it wouldn't let
them perform. And you see some and so get cut

(24:38):
in your like wait, wait, wait, wait, they just read
they released him. Yeah, but he could play, but he
couldn't take what you're saying. Mentally, it was too much. Yeah,
the mental capacity of the game wouldn't let the athletic
abilities show because maybe they came from a system to
where you know, they didn't have audibles and just play.
We had a kid and I wanted say. He went

(25:00):
to Arkansas. He was a safety. I cannot remember his name,
this dude. After the fifth day of training camp he left.
He was like, this is way harder than I thought
it would be. I wanted to play in the NFL
my entire life, but this is too much. He left.
He just quit. He quit. He he literally walked off
and quit. It was too hard. Mentally, he couldn't take

(25:25):
it because you know, back then, first Dad count practice,
next Dad count to practices, next Dad camp to practices,
next Dad camp to practices. Get up in the morning.
I can't walk, but I'm supposed to run. I can't walk,
but I'm supposed to run. He couldn't take it. He's like,
I'm out, I'm done. I'm going home, and literally told

(25:47):
Marvin Lewis he didn't want to play anymore, and he
went home. I've seen what happened. Guys counting numbers looking
at themselves and I'm not going to make this team,
and guys just walk out of training camp. But I
don't have a chance to make this team. And you
know what this is. It's not all cracked up what
I thought it was gonna be. It's really tough to

(26:09):
get out here compete against these guys and the play
in the NFL. Let's let's get an update from DA
David Gascon and then we're gonna bring on Michael Parsons
after that day. What we got trend in my friend,
A lot of cash Day has been thrown around on
an auction today. Michael steam Warren jersey back in North
Carolina sold today on an auction for one point three
eight million dollars, same jersey that he wore back in

(26:32):
the nineteen eighty three season. People crazy Day, no chance.
If you if you want t J, you can tie
to our Our executive producer, Ryan Burr Singer, he's got
the heavy heavy bags investing dogecoin. I got my game
Will Supervocers. Oh jeez. So so he's smiling. He's smiling

(26:54):
are to air because of dose coin now right here
to area is I think bur Sugar said Tomorrow's his
last day here at the net to see what happens guys.
Major League Baseball, Cardinals activity catcher Yatira Malinia from the
ten day injured list, Athletics a place right in the picture,
Mike Fires and the ten day angel list, and the
Sacramento Bes reported free agent quarterback Richard Sherman's been in

(27:15):
talks in the San Francisco forty Niners, but a possible
returns the stay tuned on that guy. Appreciate it. And
as we come out of the trending with David g
we're gonna go to the newly drafted first draft pick
of the Dallas Cowboys, one Michael Parsons. Cowboys linebacker Michael Parsons,

(27:38):
Who's going to do something. Actually, I'm very very very
very very jealous of h He's going to get to
wear eleven as as a professional. Welcome into the show, sir, Hey, Hey,
how you doing? Man? We got t J. Hey, Hey,
hold hold this at this? Have t J and Plex

(28:03):
on this show too. Man, You don't come and tell
my have I was happening? Hey, my funt, it's okay,
I see how I see how this is a thing.
I mean, you know it is what it is you know,
you got to throw it out there, just a stick
city thing. I mean, you got to throw it out there, right,

(28:24):
I mean, that just is what it is. I mean
shameless plugs. Hey, Mica, let me let me ask you
a question right now, because the conversation that we've been
having coming into the show was what happens after the
excitement of the draft? What what comes next? Because I've
seen you, I've seen the video of you out working

(28:47):
and doing the drills. What what have you been doing?
What has this been like for you so far? All
right now? You know, I've just been taking it all in,
just making sure to stay on my grind, you know,
report to Minikid next week. So really just trying to
stay in safe for that, you know, just trying I'm
in the urge to get out of the field just

(29:07):
because you know, I opted out. So I'm just trying
to do more football drills and trying to get ready
for Mini Kids next week. How much of how much
of that does does that play a part in your
hunger to want to work so hard right now? Um,
not not participating in the season this year. Uh, it
increases my hunger a lot, you know, it makes me
hungry for much more. And it makes me very excited

(29:31):
and very you know, really hungry just to prove myself
and you know, trying to be the new faces of
the franchise and things like that. So, um, very excited.
So going to Dallas, Michael, what's up this t J?
Going to Dallas obviously one of the iconic franchisees and
NFL that that's like a dream come true for a
ton of players. You're the lucky one that drafted in

(29:53):
the top ten. They already have two good linebackers. As
soon as you get there, all eyes are gonna be
on you. Have you let yourself get distracted enjoy the
moment a bit too much? Or like you said, are
you just focused on I gotta be the best player
I can be. I gotta go prove them right, prove
myself right? Or have you had some fun also mixed

(30:17):
in with working, because I had a lot of fun
when I got drafted. Oh yeah, I mean, of course
you gotta have fun mixing when working. I mean, I
don't think you'd ever be like too much work, you know. Um.
But at the same time, I know what the goal is,
and I think that's even better to have two people there.
You know, the competition level be hid um gives you
a great opportunity to learn. You know, those guys, these

(30:38):
vets have been there for fourth plus going into four
plus years for both of them, So you know, I
think it's a terrific opportunity to look at it. You know,
I got guys are fund and he's gonna teach me
the game, teaching their ropes. Uh. You know, me and
Jalen is real close. You know, we connect all time
through text messages. His excitement to have me out there
playing next to him, so you know, going into this,

(31:01):
it's like really excited and you know, of course I'm
having fun though I think everybody has fun at one two?
So um, but what type of fund? Micael? Can you?
Can you just close? Well, it wasn't your type of fun,

(31:22):
you know you do? Oh wow, Really that's good. We
learned from the mistakes that come before us. You asked
the question, but he definitely turned it around on me.
Go ahead, plex ask another question. Let's get out of here,
Let's get away from this a teaching man. I don't

(31:43):
know what uh why we deserve to be around all
these pain State guys. The last couple of weeks, but man,
you know how many times and then because we didn't
get it, We didn't get a first rounder from Utah
or Oregon State or or Michigan State, and you got
to hey, but Mike, I will say this though, man
on the on the more on a more serious tip,

(32:05):
I've had this conversation with Lava several times. And you know,
for me playing against LeVar being in Michigan State, of
him at Penn State and win number eleven. You know
Laval when I when I when I was playing against him,
you know, he was the best lineback of that that
I have ever seen play. And and uh to have

(32:25):
the test tickt fortitude to walk into Penn State and
to the equipment window and asked for number eleven is
pretty ballsy by a young man. Did you feel any
pressure to be able to go to perform and it
was number eleven? No, I didn't see no pressure. I
feel like I always knew I had potential. I wouldn't say,

(32:47):
you know, I'm not gonna say I wanted to be
just like Laval. It just so happens we play somewhere.
But you know, I tell I had the potentially be
a great lineback at Penn State. So I don't I
think the expectation was high for other people. Well, I
think for myself, like that's what I was supposed to do. Yeah,
And you know, the truth of the matter is is

(33:07):
that we strategically thought through the approach of of your
branding and and and just what it came down to is,
For one, I knew, I knew how gifted he was.
Plex Like I saw him play. Uh you know, he
was a tailback. He's running, he's running back kickoffs like

(33:29):
this big diesel. This dude, this huge. I mean, it's
just it. It's real weird, Like to me, how sneaky
he is in terms of how big he is, Like
you gotta get up on him, Like his hands are big,
Like he got he got prehistoric male feats like stuff
like that, Like like he would be able to hunt

(33:49):
pterodactyls and and and like you know, raptors and stuff
like that, like it was built like primate style. I don't,
I don't get it. But now, but being seriously, Michael,
like coming into this situation, you not only knew you
could rock the sticks and and be good at doing
it if you're being honest and be honest, you knew

(34:09):
you could exceed what it was. And you started off
by leading, leading the team and tackles as a non
starting freshman, which was the first thing that has ever's
that's the first that's ever happened ever I've been stay
that linebacker you Yeah, for sure. You know, obviously I

(34:30):
had the mindset. You know, obviously having your support such
an early on kind of motivated me to I want
to get on the field, and you know push myself.
And then you know, having expectations from being from p
A and going to Penn State because obviously comes with
another expectation. So my mindset already was coming in was,
you know, how do I get better? How do I
get on the field, And you know it was really

(34:51):
like nothing, kids getting the ways between the ingle and
what I was doing. So, you know, that's kind of
like the mindset I had coming into it. All mindset
going into your rookie year, and I'll say this, I
believe you stay healthy, You'll be ricky of the year.
Because linebackers, you get a bunch of tackles, they always
have a great chance of getting it in. So is

(35:13):
that a goal going in as a rookie and then
the second part is talk to me, Implex and the
listeners about the mentorship that LaVar has given you and
how it helps you evolve as a player and as
a person. Um. Yeah, obviously as a rookie, you know,
going in that's the obviously the goal to be Rookie

(35:35):
of the Year and you know, find my way to
become a starter. And you know, haven't winning season because
I feel like he's going your balling out and you're
winning games. All that stuff is going to fall into
place for yourself, you know, being within the team. And
obviously you know LaVar of physically, you know, I got
the edge of them because he don't want to do
it no more. Uh definitely mentally, Uh from mental aspect,

(36:01):
you know, teaching me from his mistakes and you know,
from his past and when he's done wrong and the
things he's done right and the things that you know
he wished he could get back. Just taking in all
those long lessons talk here, uh you know, but honestly, honestly,
it was all like well worked it. You know. Um.

(36:23):
He let me like expand my mind wider than I
ever thought before and discussion me think outside of the
box a lot more. I've been a part of the
wrong talks to Michael, I've been a part of it.
We think outside the box more than anybody I've ever met,
you know, so honestly, very intelligent dude, and very and

(36:46):
very smart and really just helped me become just a
smarter person. That on the chest on the chest set Yeah, yeah,
you know what happened on the chest. But stop lines
to the Oh you're only as good as your last game,

(37:08):
that's what they says. Hey, Michael, with all due respect, man,
I know you from I know you from Harrisburg, and
I don't want to say that. You know, the first
time I flew into Harrisburg to the airport and I
thought I was walking through a seven eleven, I was like,
this is the airport. I mean, you walked there through
this so quick I thought I was in a convenience.

(37:30):
That's the big outside of Philly. That's the big air
importing good Pittsburgh that from But yo, man um, I
really think you know yourself and Jalen Smith may y'all
gonna be special. But do you prefer to play inside outside?
Great question? Like to play outside just because it's a

(37:51):
lot more to do. You honestly, if you're gonna cover
three because Sky who become the middle guy anyway, But
you know, it's just a lot more opportunity to get
more want to one, more blitzing opportunities, I think. But
you know, uh, first year, he's gonna listen to Dan
Corn and see where his vision is for me. You know,
he's one of the great minds of the defense. Who's

(38:13):
gonna go from there? Mica, real quick before we let
you go on. We really really appreciate you coming on.
One of the things that Dallas is getting that they
may not have been aware of, or maybe they are
aware of, is just your your tired liss and and
just heart heart felt. Uh, you know, actions and and

(38:34):
movements with uh impacting the community that it's something that
is is very near and dear to your heart. I've
gotten to to know how much it matters to you
about giving young people opportunities that may have not have
had those opportunities and in front of them, just talk
a little bit about how important community service has been

(38:58):
for you and and has that been a conversation that
you've had with the organization since getting drafted? Yeah, David,
tell me about the bone alley right up the road
where we could do something because there was one of
the way with the Dad's Cowboys. I was like, you know,
you've got the right guy. You know, I always want
to do a bones of that, but you know, I

(39:19):
just think it's so important because at the end of
the day, you know, the youth is our future. You know,
we're all here for a reason, and it's our job
to get back to the community and you know, reach
out to the youth and tell them that you know,
it's okay to be bigger than your environment, bigger than
you know other people around you, because you got to

(39:40):
learn how to separate yourself and a lot of people.
We've got stories that we could tell just to reach somebody,
like people like I go back home and people tell
me like, like how important my story and my journey is.
And it gets hope to people. You know, when you
go back to these communities to get these kids hope,
And I think that's one of the best things you
can have is hope. Man. That's a beautiful thing. Man.

(40:01):
This is Michael Parsons UH number twelve overall pick. That's
a little bit further down from where I was drafted,
but that's okay. Um, just how I throw that in there. Um.
I also thought i'd throw in the fact that, uh,
t J. Hushman's out of bet that Jason Oway would
run a faster forty time than you, Mica. I bet
on you and I lost. So I just wanted to

(40:24):
make sure, since that has been brought up on this
show several times, that you'd have an opportunity to hear
it on this show that t J said he saw
y'all both out there running. He was like, Jason was
gonna get you. How you feel about Um, it was
a gentleman's bet. Nothing. It was a gentleman's right now,

(40:44):
Thank goodness. I didn't bet no no money or no
no chains or nothing. I just couldn't believe when I
I walked out on the field of Golden West, Michael,
and I saw both of y'all running, and I'm like, wait, wait.
As I got closer, I didn't realize how big y'all were.
I thought your were receivers. And I started getting closer,
I'm like, these dudes are getting bigger and bigger. I

(41:04):
just couldn't believe how fast all we're running at the
size size that you guys are it tripped me out
well that we can't. No, you can't. You can't factor
him into that he's illegal. We now know he is

(41:28):
one of them. Hey, Michael, we appreciate you coming on
the show man. We look for coming back on and
updating us on your progress as the season goes on.
I love you, man, think that you've done an awesome
and amazing job. So from a personal standpoint, so the
world cohered. I'm super proud of you on a personal
level and on a professional level, I'm super excited to
see what you're able to do because I think you

(41:49):
could be one of the great ones to ever do it. Man,
go out thereby all right, up on game, We'll be
right back. I'm Laviarrington, That's t J. Hushman Zada, that's
Plexico Burst. And Yeah, we just had a nice little
conversation with Michael Parsons on the other side of the break.

(42:10):
We're gonna talk about another rookie. We're gonna switch positions,
go to the quarterback to position. Uh, We're gonna go
to a market that Plexico Burst is very familiar with.

that Jets team. So uh yeah. But but with that
being said, we're gonna take a quick, quick, quick stop,
and once we come out of that stop, I want
to know Zack Wilson. I mean, he looks pretty young, Like,

(46:56):
I mean, does that play a part in all of this?
And he looks pretty young, looks like he's like thirteen,
fourteen years old or whatever. That has nothing about how
you look. They had nothing to do with it. Can
you play quarterback? They say, Lions, And they say lions
