A man can’t speak, Jesus sets him free, and instead of worship the crowd starts explaining it away. That’s where Luke 11 gets painfully relevant, because the pushback isn’t just intellectual, it’s personal. We talk through the accusation that Jesus casts out demons by Beelzebub, why a divided kingdom can’t stand, and what it reveals about spiritual blindness and hidden mo...

Something in Jesus’ prayer life made the disciples stop and say, “Teach us to pray.” That’s the heartbeat of Luke 11:1-13, and it’s where we start. We’re not chasing fancy religious words or a guilt-driven checklist. We’re learning the posture Jesus models: real communion with a real Father, built on trust, worship, and dependence.

We unpack Luke’...

Your calendar can be full of good things and still leave you spiritually empty. We open Luke 10:21–42 and watch Jesus redirect the spotlight from impressive results to the deeper reason for joy: salvation, humility, and God’s gracious revelation to the childlike heart. Along the way, we notice the Trinity at work as Jesus rejoices in the Holy Spirit and praises the Father, reminding us tha...

Jesus sends seventy-two ordinary disciples into ordinary towns and tells them to do something that still challenges our modern instincts: pray first, then go in dependence. Luke 10 is not a hype speech for “big ministry,” it is a clear blueprint for Christian discipleship, evangelism, and gospel mission that happens in homes, conversations, and daily life. We walk through Jesus’ inst...

The disciples get into a debate that feels painfully modern: who is the greatest. We open Luke 9:46-62 and watch Jesus dismantle the whole scorekeeping mindset with one simple move, he brings a child to his side and ties true greatness to humility. As we talk it through, we keep coming back to motives: would we still serve if nobody noticed, and do we secretly want recognition more than obedience?

A polygamous upbringing in Nigeria, a father’s death at age seven, and a stretch of quiet atheism aren’t the usual milestones on the road to church leadership, but that’s exactly why Nonso Okpala’s story is so gripping. We sit down as friends and church family and let him walk us through the moments that shaped his faith, from early Catholic devotion and seminary dreams to the ...

A split second can change how you see everything, and Luke 9 gives us one of those moments. Jesus goes up a mountain to pray with Peter, James, and John, and while He’s praying, His face and clothing blaze with a kind of radiant glory the disciples cannot manufacture or explain. Then Moses and Elijah appear and start talking with Him, not about comfort or success, but about His coming “dep...

Jesus asks several questions that sound simple until you try to answer them without hiding behind the crowd: “Who do you say that I am?”, "What did I come to do?", and "How will you live in light of these things?” We open Luke 9:18-27 right after the feeding of the 5,000 and watch Luke tighten the focus from public opinions to personal confession. Plenty of people can name a version ...

Jesus sends people out before they feel ready and He does it on purpose. In Luke 9, we watch Him gather the twelve, give them real authority, and then tell them to take almost nothing for the road. That tension is the point: obedience that forces dependence. We talk about what it means to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to share the gospel, live the Great Commission, and trust God when you don’t...

Demons call Jesus by name, a town begs him to leave, and one broken man ends up sitting clothed and clear-minded at the feet of Christ. That tension is where Luke 8 gets painfully honest: it’s possible to recognize Jesus and still resist him when he disrupts what we prize. We talk through the Gerasene deliverance story as a vivid look at spiritual warfare, deliverance, and the kind of freedom no...

A lot of people don’t reject God because they’ve studied Him carefully, they reject a version of faith they were never truly taught. That’s why Al Tapkin’s story hit us so hard. He grew up around competing religious labels, found identity in sports and science, and carried a confident, practical worldview into adulthood. Then real life caught up: bar culture, a DUI, a demanding...
