Another mysterious interstellar object is blasting through our solar system. 3I/ATLAS was first detected on July 1, 2025. traveling at over 130,000 miles per hour. Measuring an estimated 15 miles in diameter, it is larger than Manhattan and unlike any ordinary comet.
While initially classified as a comet, experts suggest it could be an extraterrestrial surveillance probe. Its unusual trajectory and acceleration patterns raise concern about advanced alien technology, sparking debates on planetary defense and potential extraterrestrial intentions.
For now, 3I/ATLAS is likely just an unusually fast, old, and icy visitor from a distant system. But it also serves as a test case: a chance to refine the way we search, observe, and ask questions about the universe.
